I like that people now know when ty Shirt is
working on the show when he has the night off,
Like if I don't hear the hobo drop, I know
ty Shirt's not working, somebody else's is working and playing
our sound like all in my time, Hey is tight
Shirt not working side him? Like it's not my turn
to watch him. I don't know the guys off tonight.
(01:05):
What do you want from him? It'll be back tomorrow.
What are you worried about? The vegetables got him that
he went and drove off into the desert, and the
anime police got him too many vegetables too. That's what happened. Well,
I mean he did something in one of his top
ten lists that maybe infuriated fans of a certain character.
(01:27):
Instead of just getting social media heat, they actually came
and said, you're gonna watch this anime until you change
your mind. They went on clockwork Orange on him. You
take that back about Mega Charge his art right now,
you take that back. He is the most powerful. It's
actually happened before. Actually, wait is Mega Charges aren't the
most powerful? Uh? It's up there, right up there, top wait,
(01:52):
top ten boy. By the way, I gotta call him out.
The anime the whole anime front is a fraud. Really, whoa,
that's a hot take, FROs. It's like the sandwich places
on the edge of college campuses that don't open the
doon on Sundays. That's if you're all in on anime
and you haven't seen Bullet Train, Like are you? Are
you for real? There's something to that. How much anime
(02:15):
guys does that? Having it? Tell me? Oh? They're tons
of anime, tons of it, straight up anime, tons of it.
It's it's I've actually trained Bullet Trains, one of my
three favorite movies the last year by top three movies
the last year, Top Gun, Maverick, and then right after
all you lost credibility with Top Gun. So just leave
that one out and go a bullet Train for now.
It's it's made ten billion dollars as people can't stop
(02:38):
watching dollars. But he's quitting no Ozzy, as he didn't
make that much money. Think you have paid? You paid
that much money? How many? Saying on TNF on the opener,
you think so? Alright, minus all the drugs he bought.
Hees a billionaire, give me, give me one billion kids
and whatever else. Well, I mean you got McCartney in
(02:59):
a cup of the guys that have their uh publishing.
Taylor Swift Okay, alright, alright, okay, she's not there's gonna
be She's gonna get there after the Era's tour. Face. Well,
that's because all the extra she's she gets off the
tickets resales, she's gotten a billion dollars. Yeah, now she's
not doing the Cubs thing. How dare you Hey, listen,
(03:22):
this is why I don't like ticket. Listen. I get
I need to get a piece of this, Okay, so
let me make sure I get some money. You can
get him for ten dollars, but I gotta add extra
five on top. No, I mean that. That's where people
are now. And it segues beautifully into one of the
complaining things, the my god, super Bowl tickets are expensive.
It's like, yes, they are. This past weekend, the two
(03:45):
conference title games average fifty million viewers, and that's with
one of the games being an absolute blowout. There are
sixty thousand ish seats in Arizona. Do the math people
look at you. That's to drop the mic moment right there.
You go to math on the show, we go to
(04:06):
you like, yes, it's it's a little more expensive. You
know what, don't go eat a hundred dollar meal at Chili's. Yeah,
don't buy an ete round of beers for the next
five years while you wait for your team to get
to the super Bowl. Come on this math tonight, Give
me this math night. How many points of the Celtics
beat the nuts by give me you do that math?
The number two high the number I believe at the
(04:29):
end there was just a blinking X where the nets
were concerned because it didn't matter. No, I think Larry
Bird was just out taking jumpers, going, I'm just gonna
wear up by a lot. I'm just gonna take some
I got loafers on. I'm just gonna take some shots
in the pain. I don't I don't think I've ever
seen a guy in a post game interview looked like
he did less work for his thirty one nine and
(04:51):
four and plus forty six total. Oh that's right, because
Tatum only had to play twenty nine minutes. Jason need
a post game shower. I mean, or do you are
you just gonna go right home and go Yeah, No,
I don't really need the cheff, So I'm gonna get
out of here like fifteen minutes early. So I'm good man.
I didn't really break a sweat tonight. It was fun.
I got to go up and down, but I gotta
get some cardio in because I didn't get enough. So
(05:12):
I gotta leave right now to get my cardioin tonight.
Because he's working his ass off after the game. That's
how much he cares. Like. No, he felt cheated because
he didn't actually build a workout. So while that's your
big headline tonight, Yeah, the Nets beating losing to the
Celtics by about eighty Earlier today, Tom Brady retired for good.
(05:33):
At least this is what we know. Tom Brady is
retired and no longer playing in the NFL for now.
Brady puts out this statement earlier today that at everybody wondering, well,
I guess he's not signing with the San Francisco forty Niners,
Brady deciding to make it simple getting his own message
out there. It's just him doing a selfies message and
(05:54):
this is what he had to say, hanging it up
for good, ending his twenty three year NFL career. Come morning, guys,
I'll get to the point right away. I'm retiring for good.
I know the process was a pretty big deal last time,
so when I woke up this morning, I figured I
just press record. I'll let you guys know first, so
I won't be long winded like you only get one
(06:17):
super emotional retirement essay and I use my up last year.
So really, thank you, guys so much to every single
one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends,
my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever. There's
too many thank you guys for allowing me to live
my absolute dream. I wouldn't change the thing. I love
(06:41):
you all and I'll see you in two months when
I changed my mind. Just why when the niners called
me in two months? Uh? The first thing about this message?
Did he go walking in like a wet land somewhere
and and record that retirement message? Because there's like a
lot of swell and there's like caution tape and con
dominiums behind him, Like where did he go to? He
(07:02):
didn't go to his backyard? And did he just go
out walking all night and then just came to the decision, Okay,
the sun is up, I'm going to retire. Where am I?
I have no idea. I'm in a wet lands, so
all right, I'm not probably not supposed to be here
because wetlands are protected. But let me record this message
real fast before he get out of here and head
home or at least go to get a breakfast. I
just an there was such an odd place for him
(07:23):
to record, not in an office, not with like trophies
behind or anything, or not like with his family around him. Now,
not just me out for a walk in the wet lands,
and here I am. I gotta keep going. I'm gonna
fall into the marsh everybody, But here's my retirement message. No. See,
this is where it kind of got funny, right looking
at the timeline, he couldn't have been this morning. Look
at what the position of the sun, look at what
the light is like. Hell man, you don't have no
(07:46):
idea which way he's facing whatever. It's like. No, he
had just ready to go. It's not and it's not
really two more Hamlet either, it's it's a look alike.
It's not Tomorrow Hamlet. Somethings are all. There's no way
he was staggered around in the middle of the night
and suddenly had this epiphany he was gonna turn. No,
he must have recorded it yesterday before he went and
hung out with the eight for break. Who the hell cares?
(08:07):
He decided to drop it in the morning and ergo
the greeting, good morning, Hi America. How are you like
if that's what you're focused on, I think we're going
to the wrong way. But you know what, folks get
get into it. It's like, because if he's lying about that,
he's lying about all of it quite clearly now, never
mind the fact that he cuts it off before he
(08:29):
breaks down in tears. Or maybe he has just really
learned to act by hanging out with Sally Field and
and Lily Tomlin and company. I don't know. Maybe Rita
Moreno taught him the uh, you know, the old tweezer
trick that Joey Tribani used in France. I don't know,
but it was one of those that that that became
one of the big sticking points of when did he
(08:50):
really do this? Like he Carris, I like that it
wasn't in front of a highlight reel of his own
stuff or with you. There's people that think that wasn't
Tom Brady. Do you think that it wasn't that it's
not Tom Brady? It's not I mean because you've seen
the fake Tom Cruise stuff and all that other the
AI stuff people are doing. So you know, there was
(09:13):
the did his account get hacked and he did a
deep fake AI of himself? What do you think? Seven seven?
I'm just kidding, is that really If you look at
the words on his T shirt, uh, they're kind of
they spell out it spells out Paul is dead. So
I'm kind of surprised. It was really Nick Cage channeling
Tom Brady as if he was recreating face. I mean, I,
(09:37):
why is it, Like where did he go to do that?
I like, how is he did he arrive at that march?
But I gonna go, like, okay, guys, you know, everybody's
just going crazy in my house. I gotta leave record
of quiet message. So he was almost far back as
he can and he's gonna keep going out. I'm gonna
say this softly. Why is only you hear it in
(09:57):
the microphone? Because I know people are wocking me. There's
drones and right now, you know, so there's the recording
in the message there. And there's the other part that
really surprised me is that when I got on my
computer this morning, you know, I get up a little
bit later. I get up around like ten o'clock, right,
so it's already like one o'clock in the afternoon on
the East coast. So I get up. Story had already
(10:18):
made eclipse by that exactly, Brady had already retired. But
this is Tom Brady retiring for good. I mean, the
guy's not going to retire. And okay, you're right, but
I get on and I go wow, and you know,
I go to the websites and I go to ESPN
dot com because I'm fringing. Okay, there it wasn't even
I said, did he not retire? Because the top story
was Brianna Stewart going to the New York Liberty it's
(10:41):
his breaking news. I'm like, oh, wait, whoad was it?
Was it? Wait? Wait? And then under it is Brady
retires a retrospect and here's this, here's I'm like, so
the greatest quarterback we have seen finally, and even if
he does come back, it doesn't matter. Tom Brady retiring
should own the news cycle. And like two and a
half hours after that story broke, it was, oh, Brianna Stewart,
(11:05):
is now that that really? Brianna Stewart's the top story
over Tom Brady retiring. I mean, seriously, suddenly, now Brady
is below the fold. I get that we're in a
now now now business in the world, and I'm sure
that there's websites that can show me metrics of well
what happens is about you get the scrolling people will
scroll down only so far I'll be able to see
where they are on a page. I'll scroll down this
far to see Tom Brady. But but I mean seriously, like,
(11:27):
like that's the story, that's and Brady is just a
headline and under it is McCarthy to call plays in
twenty three. I mean, really that that's how you're treating
the real retirement of Brady. It's not stop the president
there trash that. I mean, it's but but it makes
me think, is is everybody just over it? Right? Like?
Are are we in sports just or or or certain
(11:48):
I don't want to say just in sports? This is
this is the ESPN just treating it that way? Is
like is everybody just over Brady? Like? Is that? I mean,
like a bad time for a dy for Brady to
come out of everybody's over them? But like it is
maybe this is just a retirement ploy to get people
to go see eighty for Brady. Now there's that we
have to break down. But I just I just feel like, boy,
it's it's treated more of a oh yeah, Brady retired,
(12:09):
when all the talk had been where is he gonna go?
The forty niners and all of this stuff, and instead
it's oh, yeah, Brady retired. Yeah let's wait wait wait
wait what wait this is this is this is a
seismic story and it should be treated like that. It
makes me feel like I'm saying, am I missing? Am
I missing something? On this? Am I missing the Tom
Brady retired and after a couple of hours it's hey,
we got a big show down tonight, number four Oregon
(12:31):
taken on U C l A at Pauli Pavilion. Because
that's kind of how it was, and that was kind
of how it was received after the news came out. Yeah,
I think there's a couple of things. Number one, you
were a couple hours late, So bad job by you.
What I'm saying, but I'm too two hours late on
the biggest sports story. Tom Brady retired doesn't matter? No, Well,
I think to some degree, Jason, it's the It kills
(12:52):
all the other stories that were scheduled to run today
and all other video content. And I'm not kidding that
would have been shot of. All right, let's do a segment.
Lets took everybody up, all right, get into your satellite
studio or wherever you're gonna record from. All right, let's
do it. Brady's destinations in light of pretty update with
(13:13):
this information, go oh wait, uh? That all is nixed
now because he's now retired, you know. But but just
the idea that you you had a bunch of content,
like because think about the content schedule and you had
for the week and a half leading up to the
super Bowl next week. As they arrive in Arizona in earnest,
(13:34):
you start getting all of the previews, injury reports, everything else.
More of the Andy Reid, more of the Kelsey's, every
person in the Kelsey extended family going back nine generations.
How that guy from the uh No, Your Roots show
is gonna show up and do their genealogy before it's
all said? None to talk about a story that, I mean,
(13:54):
that's worse than Kershaw Stafford. Uh did you know they
went to high school together? They really? I think they
all went to high school with Tom Brady. He might
have been hanging around on the walls. You never again.
But but the idea is that for this week, it
was gonna be a lot of Brady whereabouts, a lot
of Roger's whereabouts, h Jimmy g on the comeback trail,
Jimmy keeps smiling on the sidelines. Derek car now a
(14:17):
pro bowler. Like those were your four stories, particularly the
Brady angle of here's all the potential suitors and all
of that content gets killed. So Plan B I already
submitted for deadline. You want to pay me again? No, okay,
thank you. You know that kind of thing. So it's
the The machine moves on, and right now you see
(14:41):
a bio box score getting ready for the nightcap between
the ever present Phoenix Suns in the Atlanta Hawks. Yeah,
what's up, Frost What if I were to tell you
that was actually Brady's announcement from last year on his
Groundhog Day just moving didn't mean the years? Oh I
met that stuff about my new TV twelve pajamas. Oh now, well,
(15:05):
I guess I gotta retire now. Now if in the
background you suddenly had an oompapa band and they that
Jim Gray that he did it this way, well he
cursed at Jim Gray when Jimmy scratchy, f you, I'm
doing it on my own, Tommy. Haven't you haven't had
any word in your retirement? Tom tom Hey, when I'm
I'll tell you when I'm blank and good and ready.
(15:26):
You got that? Sorry, Tommy just had to ask, all right, Frostberg,
have you never heard him call him scratchy. He was
un how he refers to him all the time. It's
very rarely Jim. That's the nicest thing anybody said about
the Jim Chip him. Jim, did you see Tom Brady
retired him? Jim Chip? Sorry you said, Jim nance like that.
In between swings at Pebble Beach getting ready for the program,
(15:47):
Jim text him in like the size fourteen fun all caps, Jim, Chim,
just my door on thirteen? Chip? Why do voice memos
from Romo? Oh no, such an odd day with Tom
Brady retiring from the NFL. We have more on this

Studios Jason and Mike Fox. Tom Brady has never been hotter.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

Slash redeem rewards terms they do apply. So Ozzy Osbourne
retiring from performing, very emotional post he put on social media,
(17:14):
Tom Brady retiring from the NFL, Mike Harmon, who will
you miss more? Either way, it was pretty crappy eight hours, Uh,
large scale. I I just love the way Tom Brady's
mere existence pisces people off to no end irrationally as
a player, gonna be around, He's gonna but but he's
not there on Sundays. So everybody that predicted his demise
(17:37):
for the last twenty years finally got what they wanted.
He'll be there Sundays. He's just gonna be talking about
the game. Jim. Don't think him, Jim. No one's watching
our games because they're watching Tom Brady. Jim, Jim. You
think I was gonna quarterback because he is, don't you, Jim?
I mean I can make a look. I can predict
these plays right here, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, I could
do it. Jim. Think about how he's renegotiating that deal
(17:58):
with Fox right now. I really I think I need
some time away. Wait, White, Like, yeah, seventy five sounds good, right,
that's double Yes, Wait a minute, that's that's four million
dollars for one game. Yeah, kind of what I want?
What I want? Yeah, I must see TV. Maybe let's
(18:19):
get it on. I could do it or not. Did
you see what happened with my retirement video from the
Marsh Did you see it? Uh? No? It like it
was tough because we got off air right as the
Aussie thing came out last night. Um, I'm guessing residency
or small. Uh shows are in and around England probably
(18:41):
are aren't going to be what the next phase are.
But no way is he still moving back. I thought
he took that back and he was gonna stay in America. Now,
oh I thought I thought. I thought he took it
back like he said he was leaving because like what
America was becoming. Then he decided I'm staying in America.
But now is he leaving again? I don't know. He
didn't want to stand he's going, and I thought he
was gone coming. I thought they had left there they
came back or not. I I thought that really he's like,
(19:03):
he's like Tom Brady. Now seriously, I'm leaving him coming back? Well,
I mean, I think Sharon was the one calling the
shots there in terms of where he's at physically, which
unfortunately is the case. But as a guy who celebrated
his career all my life and it's one of those, uh,
you know bands and artists that you know, let go
to Black Sabbath and into his solo career. It's something
(19:25):
that Maddie and Eleanor have gotten into a bit that
you know, they were a little sad too. You heard
that clip with Post Malone. So a guy that's you know,
spawned out other content into other that was actually Moses Malone.
Oh that would have been great, he said when they
made the song out of him. Well, you know what,
(19:46):
if you put a good beat behind it, people would
buy it. But you know, I was all said, but
the Brady thing. I think. I'm sad that I will
no longer have to hear the oh, he's terrible, he's
washed up, he's whatever. Because that's done. They'll move to
the next innane parts of the arguments from there. But
it's I don't know. It's also a part to say
(20:06):
that I got old. So long as he was still trucking,
I could feel like I was still kind of young.
There was still one guy out there representing and now
and now he's gone. Now I have to turn my
attention to the cyborg that is Lebron James, because I
can't embrace Rogers, even as he goes to forty too
many years with the Packers, I can't do it. I
would want to just say, hey, let's celebrate and play
(20:28):
all Ozzie songs tonight, but Tisher would play like Ozzie
and Harriet and we would get all kind and I'm like, Okay,
I don't know what's going on here. So I would say,
we'll hear like bark at the Moon rain and close
my eyes forever. Uh, you don't know who as he
is not really as I really thought we'd hear a
Fazzy Bear song. I thought he was the main dude
in that Wizard of oz azz, right, Yes, he's all yeah,
(20:50):
you knocked you knocked down. He's he's the guy behind
the glass. That's what I thought. Yes, yeah, he's a wizard. Yeah, no, no,
he it's not very clever to have his little screen
thing right next to like the baby. It makes you
recognize how dumb everybody was for so long. He was.
He was the first He was the original singer of
nickelback before they kicked him out. And I'm sorry, did
you just say you had a dollar and I had
(21:12):
to give you five cents back? And then whatever? Oh
my god, I'm going home already. It's not even the
first hour. It's a final. But yeah, I was sad.
I was setting by Brady's video clip for myriad reason.
Part of it is my immortality. Yeah you know it's
for the first time in twenty three years, Brady is
(21:33):
not going to be playing quarterback. Well, it was an
extension of last years. That would have been funny if
he just put out the same thing and said did
you notice what I did there? I suddenly changed the
uh to an and because I realized it was grammatically incorrect.
One of those like see if you can find the
differences between these two pictures, Like when you go to
(21:55):
a restaurant and there's like to keep kids busy. Hey,
see if you can find the difference between these two pictures.
Seeing the difference between these two visit guys same damn
colors broken in half. But look, why did Brady retire? Right?
That's gonna be the big thing, because he says, I'm done,
It's on my terms, and I'm done, I'm not playing. Yeah,
(22:19):
this is Brady beating everybody to the punch because there's
two reasons why he retired. Look, I told you he
didn't want to go out this way. I didn't want
to go out with this being his last season, and
and we had a rough season in Tampa Bay and
people are telling me I don't have it anymore. You know,
he didn't want to do that. He would have loved
to go to the forty niners. All of these things
he would have loved to happen. But but even the
(22:39):
year before, with the year he had Jason, people were
still trying to claim he was done right, but he had,
he just didn't go as far. It was how long
can Tom Brady keep this up? And unfortunately, when you
get to betive and you have one year that seems like,
oh you're not maybe you're not as good as you were.
You don't get the benefit of out of the bounce back.
But why so quick? Right? Why so quick? For Brady? Right?
(23:02):
First thing is he was afraid. He doesn't want to
hurt his brand because Tom Brady is gonna now go
do things after football. That is going to be his
next way to conquer the sports world. Right, it's got
eighty for Brady coming out. You already bought your the movie.
He's got Going twelve company, He's got all kinds of
stuff happening now. He doesn't want to hurt his brand.
(23:23):
And if he goes and he plays, and he plays
the whole season and he's really bad and he gets
sacked all the time and his team goes five and twelve,
then that hurts Brady's brand, Like he's still Brady s
But boy, the last thing you remember seeing is Brady
at a diminished case. And certain certain stars aren't down
with that, and they want to make sure I get
out before I fall off too much. And I'm sure
(23:44):
Brady felt himself, Hey I'm falling off a little bit now.
That being said, step further though, go ahead, buddy. The
potential that nobody wanted him back, well, that's that's the
second part is that I I don't believe for a
second it was he was gonna play for Tampa Bay
again or or retire. Tampa is not a team that's
gonna win. He would play again to win the Super
Bowl and win one more championship. I don't believe that
(24:06):
at all. I look at it as the interest in
him was not great. He wanted and he wanted to
control the narrative. If I hang around too long and
then retire, people are gonna whisper and say Brady can't
find a job. Nobody wants him, right, That's what it's
going to be. The quarterback market is big. It's big
with free agents that people are gonna want to try
to sign or draft that will be cheaper or I
(24:29):
can know I can get for more than a couple
of years. You also have three or four quarterbacks are
gonna be taken in the top ten of the draft.
That's a lot of guys out there. Where does Brady fall.
Do you want Lamar Jackson before Brady? Yeah? Do you
want Aaron Rodgers before Brady? Yeah? Well, Aaron Rodgers you
have to figure out the money thing. Derek Carr before Brady. Oh,
that's kind of closed. Car would be cheaper. He's younger,
he played for a couple more years. He might be
(24:50):
able to fit somewhere. So suddenly Brady's looking at a
really um landscape that has a lot in it. And
I am sure that they did some kind of early
digging saying hey, what do you think the possibility would be,
and they didn't get up. We want Tom, whether it
was the forty Niners or the Dolphins or everlse he
would go. He had to get a no, if Tom's
gonna play, will sign him? And he probably didn't get that.
(25:13):
So it was you know what, I'm not gonna wait
and embarrass myself. This is probably it those two factors
where I don't want to completely fall off and hurt
my brand, and I don't think the interest is gonna
be there for me, and I don't want to embarrass myself.
So I'm doing it right now. So I can say
it's my call and I'm walking away from the game,
and that's it. He wants to control the narrative. That's
why Brady retired, and that's why he did it the
(25:33):
way he did today. Yeah, it's the curiosity for each
of these squads that they have to look at their
short and long term plans right looking at where the
salary cap is, how many of their stars and and
pick any spot. How many guys are coming up for
contracts soon. How much is the roster plan do you
think it's turning over? How many injuries do you have
(25:55):
to cover for age out players? All of these things,
like Sam Francisco seemed to work because you got too
hurt quarterbacks and a roster where, at least for the
time being, most of your playmakers have one or two
years before they're up. Right, Deebo signed his deal, Kittles,
they're gotta look at aux deal. Uh, but get the
(26:15):
running back situation. Healthy convinced Trent Williams he can't retire
and has to block for Tom Brady because you'd go
from one bad offensive line to the next, but just
go spot to spot. It's like, all right, what's our
vision here? Can we compete, because if we're not ready
to compete, he didn't want to be here and he's
certainly not part of any long term plan. So you
(26:36):
could chop off a number of those spots just based
on that, right and just there's not going to be
interest from the Brady camp. And then certainly for teams
on the long right with say you look at Houston,
not that they've ever really been mentioned, but just to
use them as an example of with Tobiko Ryan's they
are on a long build, they have a couple of
(26:57):
decent component parts, but he got that sixth year because
it's going to take time now whether they give it
to him or not. As a whole other mechanism to
this and just go on down the line, Carolina, you know,
changing their head coach, go work with Frank Reich. Is
that anything that seemed to make sense, seeing as frank
Reich was saddled with guys on their last leg one
(27:19):
after another after Andrew Luck retired. Yeah, I don't think
he wants that again. And I think that was would
have probably been communicated to Temper during the hiring process
of Hey, this wouldn't make any sense from where we're
at as a squad. Even if it looks like the
division could be attainable, what what's our ceiling? Right? There's
a there's a difference between squeaking into the playoffs and
(27:40):
then having to bet yourself as a massive long shot
thinking you're advancing and that's kind of where you'd be
there and just go on down around the horn. You're
looking at a lot of teams that they're they're on
the slow build, that it's probably two years away, three
years away, and Brady's not the guy to come in
and vault you three or four games like the hiring
(28:01):
of Sean Payton did to the Denver Broncos over under total,
It's not the same math Twitter at how about a Fresca?
Mike gets swollen down the Jason Smiths with Mike Carmen. Uh.
This was Brady getting ahead of the narrative afraid it
just wasn't be there and it wasn't worth the risk
of hurting him and his brand going forward. That's why
we got the announcement the way we did today. I
(28:22):
think the other thing, lastly, Jason is you know, and
obviously we'll talk about this throughout, but there there's also
the human component, right, I relate to it a bit.
Not the billions of dollars, not the big businesses or
the being called the goat of any damn thing, but
the the idea that you make a decision and you
push through and it's hard, and then there's regrets, there's
(28:45):
emptiness after finishing it. And he said no regrets in
the video. I don't buy that for a minute, Like
there's there's things that you just can't take back, words, actions, whatever.
That pushed forward and everybody listening out there, all you
guys in the studio, you got I've got something, uh
in your history, and like, I wish I had handled
that better. I think Brady on some level is looking
(29:05):
at this last year and it was it was hard,
uh and every way, shape and form, and that physically
mentally he wasn't ready to do that again. And instead
of letting uh the football gods and and the enchantresses,
maybe the sirens song calling him when he hears whistles,
you be about out Before that became a potential and
(29:27):
people talked him into playing again, grips, I can't get
him in the Hall of Fame. Be sure to catch

wave goodbye to Ozzie and Tom Brady today. Now what's next? Well, Ossie,
we know he's gonna kind of hang out and we'll
(30:10):
hear from him once in a while. Tom Brady's gonna
go to the broadcast booth. But what is next for
some of the other teams in the NFL? Because now
the quarterback carousel, we kind of thought we saw where
players are gonna start slotting and what quarterbacks were the
best fits. And now you take Brady off the market,
who would have slotted somewhere and everything changes. So let's
(30:32):
deal with some of the teams now, because everybody needed
like eight nine teams need quarterbacks and maybe even more
depending on if they're ready to kick their start of
the curb. Uh. The forty Niners are the team that
was most interested in Brady from the beginning, right, we
thought they were going there. My tweet last night did
not age well, Man, our conversation looks like Brady's gonna
(30:52):
go sign with the forty Niners, and it looks like
it's gonna happen it. Man, I'm never gonna say fatal
company again, because boy, did that not I usually don't
care how my tweets age or don't age, but I
was like, really, we did that last night. We had
to talk about that last night, and today he returned.
It was literally seven hours ago, maybe a half hours
(31:15):
between the end of the show and I mean post
seven and a half hour the show is tonight. Right,
We deal with the information that we have and then
we smile. We get off social media, maybe we watch
a show or two, maybe finish the end of a movie,
maybe go to the gym, maybe eat another sandwich, get
a little nap, get up and see what's the world's going.
(31:38):
And the world may have completely changed. Oh it did,
but last night, really, Brady is gonna go all the
evidence is pointing that way. It's gonna happen. It feels
like it's done without being done, and nope, nope, guess
what everybody I'm retiring like, come on, man, that did
not age well. That did not age well. We had
that conversation all night last night. But for the Niners
(31:59):
right now, what do they gonna do? The Niners are
set right where do you think they are? Not? The
Niners are set. Tray Lance is going to be healthy
enough for the start of training camp, offseason, everything else.
He's going to have the inside track at the job.
That's how it's gonna go. Because brock Purdy is out
for at least six months. The Niners are sort of
good stuck at quarterback because they're stuck because they are
(32:20):
You really gonna go and go sign somebody that's not
Tom Brady to bring in when when you have these guys,
you want to see train Lance player. You know they
want to you know, they want to see more they
got with brock Purdy. If you, especially in front of
a microphone and say that we're not bringing Jimmy back, Jimmy,
Jimmy's not coming back now. That was that was the
other thing today. Yeah, Jimmy's not coming back. I don't
see a scenario whereby he's here. Yeah, so okay, great,
(32:42):
we we kind of thought, but thanks for Claire that
you love Jimmy so much. Now we're kicking Jimmy to
the curb. So this, these are the two choices they have,
and this is this is how they go forward with
it because this allows them to see at least one
of these two guys next year in some sort of
elongated form. And maybe it's Lance, maybe it's pretty. If
Lance plays and he plays, great, he keeps the job.
(33:03):
If not, Purty's healthy, he gets the job, and they
get to make a decision quarterback wise. So yeah, they're
sort of good stuck because there's nobody else to come
in that you would say, Okay, we're giving you the
gig over these guys. You gotta you have to bring
in somebody third string now that could play. You don't
know how Purty's going to recover from his U c
L injury. But they're sort of good stuck. I'm okay
with them being stuck the way they are because I
(33:25):
have two guys they want to see more of. No,
and that's that's it. Right, and you'll find out pretty
fast if Trey Lands physically isn't ready right, because you
know we're always on the Hey, he's ahead of schedule
or he projects to be here, right, I showed you
video of Breece Hall running. Does that mean he's gonna
be ready for contact and everything? It will? He better
be we he breathe, But it's just that thing we're already.
(33:48):
You know, we're months away from the idea of mini
camps and everything else, but it's still he's on a treadmill,
so that's gonna be great. Likewise, Trey Lance, we don't
know where he is, but he'll be on the field.
Brock Purty, what's your report leave, Because there's two there's
the A and six months he should be uh coming
back and be ready to go, and there's the other saying, oh, yeah,
(34:08):
it's at least a year. Well, if it's at least
a year, then that means it's Trey Lance and a
mystery man to be named later. But you can figure
that out as you get back to the to the workplace,
especially as we we see the carousel spin and you
can go draft another guy because someone will fit the suit.
So with that being said for the forty niners, there
(34:30):
problems are solved. They have it. They did say no,
Jimmy Garoppolo, it's not happening next year. Uh. What it
actually affects other teams to what's Tampa gonna do? Now?
What does this mean? Why am I nervous as a
Jets fan that Tom Brady retired? There's lots of things
that you've got the Jets in just ahead well with
Brady retiring. Not not that Brady was gonna go to
(34:50):
the Jets, but now I'm nervous about something. I was
feeling great yesterday. Now I'm nervous. We got a more
coming up next Brady retires. What does this mean for
the rest of the NFL. I'll keep it right here,
Jason and Mike fuck
