on Live Drop Night. Yes, Friday is gonna become Live
(00:44):
Drop Night, where instead of all the drops that Alex
Tysher normally plays on the show, we all say them
live and it's again, it's either the best or worst idea.
Blank you blank you blank you You're cool. I'm out.
We're I from the tirect dot com studios where tirect
dot com will help you get there and unmatched selection,
(01:05):
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirect dot com the way tire buying
should be. He sounds sexy we don't have a skater
boy drop. Do we know what? We don't have it?
So I can't just do you can no, no, no,
but it's gotta be speaking into existence. It becomes a
(01:26):
drop for next week, the live drop of the live drop.
He was a punk, she did ballet. Okay, no, no,
you can't sing it. You can, but you can't sing
that sing I'd have to burn it it. I'd have
to burn me that. That's what I can call that singing.
I have to I don't know. Is he gonna do
karaoke next week? Where I'm not done not doing karaoke
(01:49):
next week? Why don't I have the feeling you you're
gonna do karaoke somewhere next week and call me and go, hey,
I'm about to do his song? Listen, Smith, what do
you want to do? I'm gonna do yelling? Blank you
blank you blank you? What the hell song is? He
keeps asking for a drop from ty Shirt? What does
he just play the song? Who's this guy in purple? Short?
(02:09):
Just play this song? Just ye play the shortest song possible.
I've already picked out wardrobe. Yeah, good for all players. Uh, look,
what are the big stories this week that I didn't
think it was gonna be as biggest story surrounds Tony Romo. Now,
the Tony Romo impression that we've been doing is just awesome. Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim.
I've been a big story this week because I sucked. Jim.
(02:31):
Nobody likes a job I do anymore. I don't know
what it is, but everybody's talking about me. But it's
bad publicity. I don't know. Should I like it? Should
I not it? This is huge, Jim. This is I mean,
my check still clears, right, thanks looking to pay? I
still get paid, right, doesn't matter. Um, it has been
that kind of week for Romo coming off the NFC
champ the NFC Championship game. Uh, he's getting all kinds
(02:51):
of criticism for his style, for the fact that he's
just now getting very excited and saying obvious things. Uh,
never mind what may or may not have been trying
to say on one particular play involving Isaiah Pacheco. But
it gets to the point where we've seen stories this
week about how unhappy CBS is with their lead analyst,
(03:12):
And it got to The New York Post today who
had a story that during the season CBS had interventions
with Tony Romo over the courts of the year to
try to get him to raise his game. They had
they had executives fly to Dallas to meet with him
in his you know, at his home, to get him, Hey, dude,
you really got to step up here a little bit.
(03:33):
And while the according to reports, the meetings were all positive,
nothing really changed. And Tonys it's Grad's Grad's great Chim Chim.
Oh my god, Jim, this is so great, chip Chip.
So what is it? Why does Tony Romo suck all
of a sudden right? Why why is this? Why is
all of this happening with Romo? And it's it's honestly,
it's really simple, and you could put it all in perspective.
(03:55):
I heard Colin Coward talking about it today, uh, saying
that Romo plate like golf too much, and guys who
who play golf get get obsessed with it, and they do,
and he's right about that. They ill sorry all they
think about his golf. They're going forward golf and that
he he doesn't that's his priority. I don't know so
much about that, because Romo has always been a great guy,
you know, into golf. He wanted. While he was playing,
(04:16):
he was into golf and trying to qualify for the
PGA Tour and all these things. So I don't know
about that, because he's always been like that, even when
he was playing end during his first couple of years,
when he broadcast for CBS, when he was a big star.
The reason Tony Romo, why this is hit where it's
at right now, is because Romo is a lot like
anybody else in a profession who when you have immediate success,
(04:40):
the desire to work hard decreases immensely right when you
come into the league. I remember people telling me that
about Miles Austin, right Miles Austin first came to the NFL,
he was a sensation right away, and then he sort
of petered out over the course of his career, and
a couple of people said, yeah, he's a guy who
didn't work hard. Didn't work hard up because it came
so easy to him his first couple of years, and
(05:01):
and all right, he thought it was just gonna be
that way, didn't have the work ethic, didn't know what
it meant to be to stay on top, and his
years just got a little bit worse, a little bit worse,
Romo comes out with no training and comes on and
does something we haven't seen before. I'm predicting plays and
it's pretty easy for a guy, but nobody ever thought
to do it. Why Romo quarterback for fifteen years. When
he sees a certain formation, sees the quarterback is doing
(05:23):
moving players around, he was, Okay, this is gonna be
a wheel route to the running back. This is gonna
be a comeback, this is gonna and it was great, right,
especially in the red zone when he can call out plays.
This is gonna be a fade, this is this, this
is this, and he was terrific and he cut through
and everybody cared about what Tony Romo said, and more
people watch games that Romo and Nance did because it
was that big of a deal. But he had all
(05:44):
this success and then CBS paid him, and so now
where's his desire to work hard? Where where is it
to get better and become a better analyst. Instead it's
just him showing up and just getting excited when plays happened,
saying things like, the quarterback has two choices here, he
could run or he could pass. Really, I could have
Phil Simms tell me that. He told me that for
(06:04):
many many years. Uh, here's here here when it's snowing,
you have to worry about your feet finding purchase in
the snow. If you want to cut back, Tony Romo
has become a caricature of who he is. Why doesn't
work very hard? How do I know isn't work very hard?
Because a you saw how CBS executives came down to
his home. They don't want to get him down there saying, hey,
(06:24):
we want you to do X, Y and Z. But
when you have executives visit you at your home, they're
trying to get you to Hey, dude, you gotta raise
your game. You gotta do a little bit more. You
have to be able to prep more. You have to
know what you want to say. The stories you want
to tell have to come out organically. You gotta raise
your game and try a little bit more. He didn't
interview this week, And this is the most telling thing
(06:45):
that Romo said about it is that he said a
lot of stuff I do is trial and error. Right.
The criticism for the Michael Jordan's story, he tried to
shoehorn in that didn't really work that well. He's trying
to I just throw stuff out there and see what works.
That's not how you do it, man. This is not
an after school art class. Okay, you don't just throw
stuff out there and see what works. This this is
a guy that doesn't plan very much other than maybe
(07:07):
what he thinks about on the plane flying to the
next game. Right, You don't just throw stuff out you
think Howie Long and Jay Glazer throw stuff out there
and see what sticks. You think Greg Olsen throws stuff
out there and sees you think. You think Tom Brady's
gonna throw stuff out there and see what sticks. Or
are they gonna work hard knowing, Hey, I know what
it means to be an analyst. I want to stay
up here. Romo hit it big early. He never had
(07:30):
the work ethic to get better, and it's why he's
been on slow decline. That's the reason. Other things, yeah,
other things he wants to do in life. Yeah, I
get it, But this is what you're doing. And you
started out great, but with a chance to get better,
you have not and you've been coasting. And that's what
Romo has been doing. He's been coasting on his celebrity
and the and the contract that he's gotten. And that's
why his career is where it is right now, where
(07:52):
you know CBS is thinking about replacing him and fans
don't like him and he's getting all this backlash. It's
very simple. That's why. Yeah, it's fun because you go
back to his the startups, playing career, undrafted free agent
out of Eastern Illinois, get a shot with the Cowboys,
becomes one of the top quarterbacks for Pro Bowls, all
the accolades, uh and a really healthy run as a
(08:17):
as a quarterback. You know you'd rather have him than
Derek Carr, wouldn't you, wouldn't you? You might want Tony
Romo now more than you want Derek Carr. But the
the idea of Jim Jets wanting to play quarterback, Chip Chip,
can you believe that's up forty two years old? They
want me to come throw a foot pod kept any words?
And Zack Wilson right, Oh my god, this is like
(08:38):
when Jordans came back. Hey, speaking of Jordan, I got
a story about him. Jim Jim, Can I tell you
Jim Chip, Jim, Jim Chip. But the way you set
it up there there is some validity to it, right.
We talked about it with Kyler Murray We talked about
it with so many other players where even if they
hit transfer portals, whatever, if you're the number one overall,
(08:58):
pick go to Baker Mayfield. Yeah, you had some adversities.
A lot of it was caused by himself because it
changed expectations and changed how people looked at him, which
means the criticism came a bit stronger than it probably
would have otherwise in Cleveland. But you're you're looking at
the work ethic and whatever gumption, stick to it, noess, whatever,
(09:21):
whatever terminology you want to throw on it is you're
working to your level because it always has worked. And
with Romo, it may not be that he's working any uh,
taking it any easier, or not putting in hours. It
just might be the this is what I feel like
(09:41):
doing right now, and you're either in with me here
or not. Right. You can criticize it, and you set
a standard that people liked, but like everything you evolve,
you don't want to be that guy forever. Now. Forever
should have been more than three or four years. We
could usually stipulate to that, but in this case, maybe
maybe he got tired of that. Maybe people close to
(10:04):
you decided they they kind of chimed in, going, you know,
just just have fun called the game. Look at the
way this guy does it or that guy does it,
and just gotta go. Look, you're still excited to be there, right,
You're never gonna hear, at least to this moment anything
like we've been saying about Al Michaels and other guys
like yeah, they don't even want to be there, like
they're done with this. No, he's genuinely excited. But it's
(10:26):
like he wants to elevate the football knowledge and heroism
of Jim nance here. Jim, tell everybody what's coming. Come on,
what do you think they're gonna do? Jim, It's like
I did that already. I did that as a quarterback,
and I did it to start my career. Here. Now,
if you're the CBS executives, it's incumbent upon you to
(10:47):
be very clear about what you want him to change,
not just you know, we'd like you to kind of
get back to the guy you are. No, no, no,
just say very clearly, here's a videotape of your first, second, fifth,
whatever game of the first year you did this. Can
you be this guy? Because if not, we got plenty
of other guys that would love to be this guy,
Greg Olson. Maybe a free agent after Tom Brady goes
(11:09):
to the booth, he may want out of his deal
and not go to the number two team, So we
could replace you. And he's quite competent. I'm not trying
to get wow look at you, and I thought, O, look,
I don't. I know I love Greg Olson, but I
also know guys like to be in the number one
guy in the booth. You are my number one guy.
(11:30):
But the but the point is, look at what Olson's
doing and people love him. New flavor, new way of
looking at things. Romo became old hat and then decided
to go away from what was working. Decided, you know,
this is the guy that does one thing well, he's
an in and out. He's a canes raising canes, chicken tenders.
(11:51):
That's what they do, right, And all of a sudden,
you know what, you know, We're we're gonna start doing
spaghetti dishes. What we need to do spaghetti dishes? Well,
I don't know. Pap is fairly cheap. We can cook
it quickly. I think it'd be a nice addition to
the menu. Is that your core competency? No, it is not. No,
it's not Keep it simple, keep the menu short, move
(12:13):
on supply chain. It runs well into nice, well oiled machine. Likewise, Romo,
you started to veer off trying to add some extra
flavors to things. Nobody liked them. No one liked it.
Leave the bubble gum flavored stuff away. Stick to it
meat potatoes, baby. Come. Look, I mean, how long nobody
(12:33):
exists in a job for very long if their strategy
is I'm going to throw this up against the wall
and see what sticks. Right, Not in radio, not, not
on TV, anywhere. All the shows that are planned out,
whether you like them or don't like them, there's a
lot of work that goes into hey, this is what
we want to do, this we want to talk about.
This is the point we want to make. You don't
just show up well, I mean some people do, but
(12:54):
you can't just show up two minutes before a show
and say, hey, what did the show before lead with? Alright, great,
I'm gonna do that, and and you do a whole
show on that. So I mean you can't do that.
I mean, you can't do something like that. You have
to be able to prepare and go in. You can't
just throw it up against the wall and see what sticks.
Because it doesn't work. I mean, it doesn't work. And
one of our drops name names. You know, it's crazy.
You can't do that. Be sure to catch live editions
(13:15):
of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at
ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific, Fox Sports Radio The
Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon Hobo
live from the tirerac dot Com Studios Live drop Friday.
Instead of playing the drops normally here on the show
(13:36):
on Friday, we decided to just say them bing mong
New Jersey, these big Irish New Jersey trades is the
absolute worst. I don't know again, it's either the best
or worst idea that we've ever had. You sound just
like that. I do. I well because maybe it was me.
It's completely incompetent. I want to miss my game, all right?
(13:58):
Joining us now on the hot line. We got so
many odds to break down. And it is our friend
in Vegas full morons maker at Caesar's Checkout has bet
the Board podcast. You see him on CBS as well.
It's Todd Ferman. Todd, what's happening? Buddy better odds? Smith said,
Kyrie Irving is a member of the Lakers or Derek
Carr is taking reps under center Jet Frostberg, And I said,
(14:23):
I think that's even money that those both those things
are gonna happen. I'm not sure if one of them
is a good thing one of them is a bad thing.
I guess it all depends that beauty is in the
eye of the beholder. So it'll be interesting to watch
bull storylines unfold. But if what we saw from Derek
Carr in the skills competition, All Star Pro Bowl festivities
is any indication he's a man with a chip on
his show of the Reverie lands for three, No, it's great.
(14:44):
If you got a guy with a fifteen foot wingspan,
Hey whatever, whatever it takes to go out there and
snatch balls, and you know what, throwing within fifteen figure
receiver would be a substantial upgrade for what the Jets
have had to deal with the last fifteen years. Now
wait a minute, hair, Now wait a minute, what what
what are the odds the Raiders look at the quarterback
market and say, hey, look, we thought we were going
to get an upgrade and instead, what's going to resign
(15:05):
Derek Carr point, that's already etched in Stone, and I
think the Raiders are much more likely going to next
season with Jared Stidham under center and try and use
him as a transitional piece and maybe look the drafted
guy in the top fifteen, depending on who potentially could
fall to them, or if they decided to trade up. No,
that would be peak Raiders to bring back Derek Carr
and give him more money. We're gonna give an extension
(15:26):
to Yeah, I don't know if they're gonna get more
money in a raise. I'm not sure. Derek Carr, despite
having a beautiful pad out here, is in a hurry
to continue to don the silver and black. I think
he's looking for a change of scenery and we'll see
where that takes him, whether it be New York, whether
it be New Orleans. Lord only knows. What do you like? Where?
Where do you? Where do you think the where do
you think the best the best option is for him?
For Derek Carr, I mean, I think the Saints making
(15:48):
an awful lot of sense playing in a climate controlled
environment down there. Uh. And it's a quarterback that the
Saints had kicked the tires on previously. I know the
coaching regime isn't exactly ideal, but for whatever reason, they
didn't want to go back to Jamis Winston even when
he was healthy. So I think you look around and
it's teams that feel that they may be a piece
or two away. The biggest problem working against Cars obviously
(16:09):
his salary cap hit. But when you consider the fact
that Gino Smith, his agent, is floating out there that
Gino wants thirty eight million annually, suddenly Derek car doesn't
seem like such a bad option for a team that's
looking at a compete right away. Todd Ferman with Us
the Jason Smiths with Mike Carmon Live the Tirac dot
Com studios. All right, so with that happening now, So
with that out of the way, Aaron Rodgers, we've heard
about the Jets, We've heard the Raiders. What are you hearing?
(16:32):
Where's Aaron? And if you say anything but the Jets,
this is your last appearance on the show. I unfortunately
think that Aaron Rodgers is a very likely candidate to
end up reunited out here in the desert with Davante
Adams and company. This is a you know, looking for
star power and Aaron Rodgers for whatever reason, seems to
be on the top of their wish list. Now, if
(16:53):
they're able to get it done, that remains to be seen.
But I think the Packers in the back of their
mind realized that relationship is over. They need to see
what they have in Jordan's love and that Aaron Rodgers
at this point, with a very young skill position cast
potentially holds them back. So Rogers and Silver and Black
makes an awful lot of sense. I'm not sure I
necessarily love it for the Raiders who should be going
(17:13):
into rebuild mode, but I think that's the distinct possibility.
And Todd with the news this week off of wherever
he was in sand and Resort or whatever it was. Uh,
Tom Brady retiring? Uh do those cash out or do
we have to wait until week one to see whether
he's on a roster and whether the sticks. It all
depends on the book where some of those bets were
(17:35):
placed in far away places. From what I've been told,
they're paying out retirement. They're such small limits, not a
whole lot of liability or big pay days that are
out there. But there are a couple of shops in
legal jurisdictions who will take a few dollars on that
that obviously have to wait until it's week one of
the upcoming season starts up before they can officially pay
those out. So folks that have tied up their money,
you know, hoping that he has a change of heart,
(17:56):
but this seemed to be a little bit more along
the lines of a full retirement. Then again, we know
that silly season can often change someone's state of mind,
and maybe if someone throws a big enough bag of
cash at Tom Brady, he decided to come back for
one more trip around the sun. Alright, So speaking of
the Super Bowl now looking ahead, obviously the two quarterbacks
are the big favorites for Super Bowl m v P.
(18:16):
But if I said to you, Todd Ferman, you're putting
your money on who if you had to pick a
non quarterback to win m v P, who are you saying? Well,
the interesting part about that market is if you want
to bet the quarterbacks and cover that aspect of it,
it's about a one to five shot, so you can
get the entire field that plus three fifty. But if
you're trying to find an individual, I wouldn't be looking
(18:37):
to identify anybody on the Kansas City roster because I
think at this point, with Patrick Mahomes and everything he's accomplished,
that he would have to play a pretty poor game
for them to go in a different direction than giving
it to my Homes. So logically it steers you in
the direction of the Eagles, and I think you begin
to look at their defense and a player that can
really disrupt things and maybe the form of Hassan Reddick,
or of course in their backfield, because there is a
(18:57):
path to victory where the Eagles are able to run
the football for two yards and if Miles Sanders becomes
that bell cow with a hundred yards and say a
pair of touchdowns, he's a guy that can throw his
name right into the mix and potentially steal the hardware
away from Jalen Hurts and Eagles victory. So as we
look at the the largest of the prop economy that
there is, and seemingly every year there's another seventeen pages
(19:20):
of them, time, uh, where is you try to narrow
things down? Do you start your research? I mean, there's
a whole lot of work. And I guess the one
piece of advice that I'd give to people that are
trying to come through the entire menu. Look for props
that have one of two outcomes. It's always going to
be attractive for people to identify the first touchdown score,
(19:40):
the last touchdown score, the result of the first or
second drive, and those are typically higher hold markets that
give the house a huge edge over especially recreational better.
So when you're looking at player props, look at an
over under for total yards or receptions that will give
you a much better opportunity to cash a ticket rather
than trying to put up a little bit of money
to make a lot. And it's all going through you know,
(20:02):
current form, trying to figure out whose stock you can short,
who stock you can buy at the bottom of the market,
and of course look at like minded opponents. We know
the Philadelphia's strength of schedule leaves a lot to be desired,
But at the same time, Kansas City hasn't played a
team that can run the ball downhill the same way
the Eagles can. Todd Ferman with us here our insider
in Vegas, the Jason Smith Show with My Carman. All right,
(20:22):
so we get to the NBA. Kyrie Irving wants a trade.
The Lakers have been talking to the Nets, The Sons
have been talking to the Nets, the Mavericks are getting
involved Kye every's gonna end up where. I mean, you
look at the odds for the Lakers, and that's clearly
the heavy favorite in that particular department. I just don't
see a path for how that happens unless the Nets decide, hey, look,
you know what could be better than having discrunted Kyrie Irving.
(20:45):
It's reuniting Kevin Duran and Russell Westbrook and our quest
to try and win the Eastern Conference. So I'm not
sure that will happen. I mean, I look at some
of the odds that are out there, and if the
Dallas Mavericks were slightly longer price, I think it's the
kind of player that Mark Cuban be willing to take
the risk for now. I'm not sure if the Mavericks
could defend a good AU team with Luca don Check
and Kyrie Iring on the floor at the same time,
(21:05):
but it'd be awfully fun to watch, knowing they could
probably try and score a hundred thirty and run and
gun with everybody in the West. To that end, when
we look at Nbad ahead of the trade deadline, with
some of the rumor and conjecture is is there a
team or two that stand out beyond the Mavericks of Hey,
if you were just feeling an inkling to get a
(21:27):
little action, that you can see a move on the horizon. Oh,
I'm not endorsing the Mavericks the team capable of winning
the NBA Championship by any stretch. Don't. Don't confuse those
two at all harm But well, I don't know. I'm
just putting them off to the side because you address
them there when I'm when I'm looking at the Eastern Conference,
I still think the Milwaukee Bucks of the team to beat.
(21:48):
I know the odds don't suggest that, with the Celtics
the shortest shot coming out of the East, but as
the Bucks get healthier, it's a team of veteran pedigree
that I still have the utmost confidence in that if
they have all of their pieces available, they are going
to be an absolute bear to try and eliminate from
the Eastern Conference playoff picture and quietly lurking in the West,
if you guys could give me any assurance that they're
going to be healthy, I mean, this is a Clippers
(22:09):
team that I thought was going to win the West
that really in the year their price was seven and
a half or eight to one. That numbers now drifted
out to fourteen to one. But it's a roster that
I think can contend with anybody. And I'm not buying
stock in the Golden State Warriors right now. I'm not
sure that that same hunger is there that what we
saw from them last year. I think Memphis still has
to get a little bit more scar tissue before they're
gonna be able to come out of the West. And
(22:30):
while the Denver Nuggets are a fun story, we've been
here and done that in the past. So the Clippers
would be a team that I don't think has any
expectations on them, that have all the pieces to potentially
make a deep run when things come in Three's Todd
we had the nuts shot yesterday. We had a fight
today in the NBA. Can we get props on who
squares off tomorrow? I mean, the fact that Reggie Millard
(22:52):
said it was an inadvertent shot from Dylan Brooks might
be a most laugh little bit of NBA commentary for
all season long. We know a good nutshot, We you
a gentleman, and that definitely had malicious intent and credit
to Dylan Brooks, he landed his haymaker. They're trying to
figure out what the NBA is gonna offer up. I mean,
your guest is as good as mine, guys. So I
think the one UH projection and prediction that I'd be
(23:14):
most confident is that we're gonna get three or four
marquee players to sit in some of the biggest games
on the board tomorrow, because that's the gift that keeps
on giving in the National Basketball Association. All Right, Todd. Lastly,
people want to buy tickets. People want to know when
Lebron's got three games potentially to pass Kareem Abdul Jabbar
for the all time lead in points scored in the NBA.
(23:35):
He's got to have an incredible game tomorrow to do it.
But then he's got a game Tuesday against Oklahoma City
Thursday against Milwaukee. If I said to you, Lebron James
passes Kareem, what game do you think, Well, if you
believe it happens tomorrow, Smith, you can have a nice
week in Vegas coming up, because that Christ will get
you if he ends up breaking the record tomorrow. When
you look at February seven against Okay, see it's the
(23:57):
price just north of two to one. But because we
believe that everything in professional sports these days is entirely scripted,
what better way than for Lebron James to break Kareem
abdual Jabbar scoring record that on February nine against the
Milwaukee Bucks where he is a minus dollar dollar sixty
five favorite. And it just so happens that it would
come at home. So I understand why that is favored.
(24:18):
And assuming Lebron plays it to the next three games,
I think that's the distinct possibility. But even if he
went for sixty tomorrow against the Pelicans, would it really
shock any of us if he sat out against Oklahoma
City to break that record against the Milwaukee Bucks. Now,
and here's the thing, and this is why I I
think the money should be on the Bucks rather than
people buying all this the tickets for the Thunder, because
what's gonna likely happen. He'll He'll say he has a
(24:39):
normal game tomorrow. He would pass Kareem sometime late in
the game against the Thunder. Now, how do you stop
the game and he talks and there's a pageantry and
all kinds of stuff, and then you finish the game.
It's kind of odd. If he doesn't do it, then
you have two more days. You know when he's going
to do it. It's gonna happen early on Thursday against
(25:00):
the Bucks. There's all kinds of drama because you know
what it's gonna happen. They can stop the game early.
It'll happen in the first quarter. He he can talk
to the crowd, they can honor him, and then they
can get back to the game. I really do think
it's good. Whether Lebron has to sit out or take
fewer shots. I really think it's gonna be There is
no doubt they will do everything they can to control
that narrative and make sure that Lebron does it in
(25:21):
a timely manner with the most eyeballs on it, and
turn it into the kind of event that it really
should be. Credit to the Lakers, though, because if this
was part of the master plan and this was all
about load management, sitting Lebron claiming ankle injury is a
myriad of other ailments throughout the course of the season,
so they could pencil this game in for him to
not yet another NBA record. Kudos to them and everybody involved,
(25:42):
But I do think like you said, the Milwaukee Bucks
on February nine makes way too much sense for it
not to happen. Then you can follow on Twitter at
Todd Ferman, that is at Todd Furman. Check him out
the Bet the Board podcast as well. See him on CBS.
Todd as always, Buddy, appreciate your time for all the
best Super Bowl bets, the prop bets, everything you need.
(26:02):
Todd Ferman is your guy, Todd has always, but I
appreciate man. We'll talk to you next week. Always a pleasure, gentlemen,
have a great weekend. Best Todd. Alright, there goes Todd Ferman.
I mean it. I mean, I know that it seems
like Oklahoma City is is the night because well, he'll
get twenty five or so tomorrow twenty he needs, but
(26:23):
and the tickets are going for seventy grand. But really
I think, not that it's Arian Foster script, but I
really do think Lebron is gonna hold off so we
can do it early Thursday. You get you get an
extra two days of of of it's going to happen,
and and and build up to it, and it becomes
a bigger event than oh, hey, guess what Lebron is
(26:45):
gonna do it now. And it happens early in the game.
It's much more comfortable. It doesn't seem jammed in where. Okay, well,
there's you know, thirty eight seconds to go in the
fourth quarter of the Lakers lead by two. But Lebron
just broke the record. Loud, let's stop, Let's give him
the ball, Let's have him talk to the crowd. I
mean it's impossible to do. Really, he's gonna start. If
he gets closed, it's gonna be passed, pass pass, especially
(27:06):
if tacos or we don't have time for that scoring
record things number one speeches, speeches, my ass, get the
ball out of play, get take away. Come on, stop man,
he gets to speak. It's the all time scoring record
in the NBA. The guy gets to stop and talk. Look,
you're a fun hater. Make fun tonight, no, no, no no,
(27:26):
a fun fun of it. And this is where the
business side, if it goes through and it's you know,
you really can pay tribute to the history of the
game if you do this with the Bucks, right, because
we get to see old Luell Cinder video, see the
big well, we we do have that too. And there's
certain nighttime activities that Buck enjoys. But the idea is
(27:50):
that you can celebrate all of that history of Kareem
and leading into more of the al Right, here's the
montage of the the young Lebron James and the evolution.
Where is now maybe you do a thing with the
changing hairline through the years, because you can just steal
that from the Internet. That's already done for production. So
(28:10):
just go through all of that process. I don't need speeches.
I don't need speeches. You're gonna grab the microphone to
go we hate watch Lebron breaking the old time scoring
record in the NBA. You're gonna hate watch it because honestly,
we you know, we've we've referenced it a bunch this week.
Does it feel that huge? Like a huge moment for I?
(28:35):
I gotta feel when when he gets right there? Yeah?
I mean, look, we're we're a society where when something
is right there, call us Like, I don't need the
whole lead up to it, but what it's happening, I
want to be a part of it. Right, So if
if if you have the those two days in between,
hey he ends the game on Tuesday, he's five points
short of it, you have the big build up to it.
How are the Laker fans gonna react? What's gonna happen?
(28:57):
The Lakers can definitely plan for what they're going to
do here. No, it becomes a bigger thing. It becomes
it becomes a huge something you'll never see again. You'll
never see a fan of snap. Wow. It's inevitable. You're
gonna hate. Even Lebron said it last week the other Day.

All right? Go ahead, it's still good. Oh let's let's
have the play of the night. And uh when you
(30:36):
get in a fight because somebody said something to you
off the court after you miss a three, well, Austin
Rivers and Mo Bamba, you get to be the play
of the night more in Indiapolis. Come on, man, busted

between Austin Rivers and Mo Bamba, Rivers and Mo Bamba
(31:20):
getting into it. I have no idea what happened, but
it isn't all out melee under the basket right now.
Rivers got some good I think Jampa tame up the
bench to throw punctions at Rivers. That's crazy. There will
be a number of objections. Ships and still hot might
(31:42):
have gotten arrested. How to watch the top of the
screen right here, Austa Rivers down there on their bitch.
It's not Austin's fault. It's not Austin River's fault. It's
not in fault. Uh T Wolves Radio Network on the call. Yes,
after a mystery, Mo Bamba seemed to be jawing with
Austin Rivers on the bench. Austin Rivers said, hide up
(32:04):
going for this? He gets into with Mo Bamba, punches
her thrown punch these. I mean there's a lot of
punches thrown on this. This was both benches emptied. Everybody's
all over the court temper. We need the All Star
break that guys have been playing for too long. Maybe
everybody needs a break. I think tempers are flaring a
little bit too much. We're getting too many fights and
near fights last night. Everybody needs a break. Now we
need the All Star break. No, that's fantastic stuff. But
(32:27):
now there's quotes being attributed to to Austin Rivers related
to the battle that went down, uh, including the gem
of we only know you from an old raps on Buddy,
I went at you one on five with no backup.
You needed your teammates. Otherwise you would have been choked out.
(32:48):
Uh talk about find out. We only know you from
an old reps, old rap song. That's oh that's a guy,
that old rap song. Oh, well, baba is a snack. Sure,
there's there's La Bamba, the song by Lou Diamond Phillips
and ut still Rio, No, no, no no, Who did
the Who did la bamba for um for la bamba? Yes, yes, yes,

Lebron James is gonna become the all time leading score
in NBA history sometime next week. Now, a lot of
people think it could be Tuesday night against the thunder
Like I think he's got a flair for the dramatic.
He knows it will be Thursday against Milwaukee. But let
me just go through something here. Well, you sit out

I wonder if people, like some people at the very
enderwaiting going. Man, I really want to see how many
points he scores tomorrow. I really want to say, how
(35:06):
