the way tire buying should be. It has happened. He
has done it. Lebron James stands alone in NBA history.
A fade away upper goes and he is now the
all time leading scorer. It happened seconds ago. We're gonna
(01:07):
get set to go to this game. Adam Silver standing
at half court next to Lebron. Who's standing next to
Kareem abdul Jabbar. And here's the commissioner about to talk
for Lebron James setting an all time record, a moment
in NBA history. You and I may never see anything
(01:29):
like this ever again. Lebron late in the third quarter
against the Thunder a post up play a fade away.
He runs down the court, hands out, pictures popping. Everybody
runs on the court. Kareem Abdul Jabbar comes out with
(01:50):
a basketball, finally smiling a little bit, just gave the
ball to Lebron. They're posing for pictures right now at
the center floor, center the floor. Right now it's Lebron
in between Adam Silver and Kareem. So you know some
so some shortest to tallest, from left to right, it
goes Adam Silver, then Lebron, then Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Now
Lebron and kareem posing for photos together. We're gonna go
(02:14):
out to this in a second. Uh Nope, In fact,
Lebron's gonna speak right now. We're gonna go out to this.
And here from the King, what did you say to
be able to be in the presence of such a
legend and greatest Kareem and me? So much to me
is very humbling. Um, Please give a standard ovation to
the to the captain. Please, it's my beautiful wife my daughter,
(02:42):
my two boys, my friends called boys, my family, my mother,
all my everybody has ever been a part of this
wrong with me the last twenty years, twenty plus years.
I just want to say, I thank you so much
because I wouldn't be me without y'all. All y'all help,
all y'all passionate, all y'all sacrifices how to get to
this point and to the NBA, to Adam Silver, to
(03:04):
the late great Davis Starr. I thank you guys so
much for allowing me to be a part of something
I've always dreamed about and um, I would never ever
in a million years dreamt is even better? All right,
So Lebron James thanking everyone, Cap was there, Magic Johnson
is there? Lebron James's speech after becoming the NBA's all
(03:27):
time leading score It is now history in the book.
Scream can now leave, most likely because he hasn't looked
like he's wanted to stay the entire time. But I
don't know. The game is now interesting, well, you know well,
and the over hit in that four and a half minutes,
which this nonsense. You're at ten points nine seconds left
in the third quarter. You stop a game for ten minutes.
This is ridiculous. Why are you hating on this? What?
(03:49):
What is wrong dude? What is wrong with you? Man? Seriously,
this is this is a moment that every single NBA
but nobody cares even came out of his house for
this money. I think Karim even walked on the court.
He didn't see it. Well, they did. Well that was
kind of funny, right because they showed Lebron as he
as he scored and then he kind of goes down
(04:10):
the court his arms are extended and then you start
seeing Kareem in the backgrounds as Lebron's bent over like
they're getting him in position to where he needs to go.
It's like he's up and moving. Look it's the captains
there he goes. So no, no, it's it's it's not
hate watching the moment. There's a great appreciation for the moment.
There's still a basketball game being played. Yeah, okay, but
(04:33):
but nobody cares about the game. This is the moment again,
this is the moment that every forty years we may
get something like this. I don't think anybody cares about
you know, they stopped that thunder game with ten seconds
ago in the third quarter. Yeah, you stop. I'll be
that guy. He's hugging every celebrity. There's the hug, there's
(04:54):
the hey, go go find John McEnroe. Where's sna that
people in in the celebrity hang on, God, you don't
you don't pay seventy five grand for court side season.
Lets you know, hey, if Lebron breaks the record, he's
coming over. Yes, yes, I paid that kind of money.
What about those people that paid that for to Uh
(05:17):
he's hugging Magic Johnson right now, give him the big congratulations.
Lebron is on the court. Look kind of a kind
of a very surreal moment after Lebron makes the shot,
he's standing on the court by himself. Uh. Photographers came out,
cameras came out. People kind of stayed away from him.
And in the beginning, if you think like, oh where
(05:39):
wild teammates not jumping up on top of him. But
this is his moment, this is his moment. He's number
one on the list. He's by himself on the court.
He's by himself, uh, with surrounding his teammates. Maybe he
told him before the game, when I break this record
and you guys jump on me and ruin my moment,
I'm gonna kill you, guys. I'm scored these thirty eight
(06:01):
thousand plus points you didn't. So I'm gonna stand here
because this is about me. Then I'll say he well,
he is, he's all down, he's all time. He scored
him and nobody down right. Now, here's how it sounded.
A few moments ago on TNT, Lebron becoming the all
(06:23):
time leading score But at the end of the third quarter,
Lebron James a shout at history. Lebron stands alone. He's
scoring record now belongs to Lebron James. Next busket that
(06:47):
asked stop, I don't know what busket basket isn't busting
when you go and like you play a guitar and
you open a case for money and people you're trying
to get some money. He's gonna go busking after my
be doing that if he gets another basket, though, do
we stop the game again because he broked his own
record every time he scores. Now, you're such a hater, man.
(07:07):
I feel like you've decided to just turn heel on
so many things. I don't like this, I don't like this,
I don't like this, and you can't be happy that
we saw history tonight. Really, I mean compartments might be happy.
I mean I'd spend five minutes talking about Julius random
leads to a better job defending him. But then I
would give him congratulations to say, Okay, Lebron, I really
(07:28):
did well. We stipulated early in this game. There was
no defense being played on either side to let's go
what it is. We we hit triple digits with plenty
of time left to the third quarters. That was going, no,
it's it's a fantastic montage. There's no question. Now they're
showing like the history going all the way back to
the beginning. I celebrate it all. I commemorate at all.
(07:50):
Here I want to watch the basketball game. It is
a game now going to the fourth quarter. Here's another one.
Here is John Ireland, the guy I've known for you know,
fifteen years now. Lakers play by play. Here's how Lebron
breaking the record sounded on the Lakers radio network. Tom
more than an Indian gets hit out live team. It's
(08:17):
the right elbow Lebron one on one against kin Rick
Williams backing him in, turns shoots oh Kan Town gather
around from the iconic Laker to another. There it is
John Ireland on the call with Lebron James. Uh, there
(08:40):
wasn't any to say. There wasn't any defense on the play.
You just heard John Island describe it. Um, you didn't
even see any attempt to try to defend the shot, like, Okay,
I'm gonna let it go, man, I'm not gonna put
my hand, didn't put his hand in his face or anything.
Just like, okay, I'll give you the fade away. Not
even gonna try to mess Let's let you score the bucket. Okay,
I understand how this is not not not even close,
(09:01):
nothing close. Pretty shot though, like the motion like, no,
it was. It was everything you want. And I think
folks you are you were calling for a hook shot earlier.
I think you know that became a popular thing of
showing tribute to the cap. But if you miss it
with the opportunity to to to get that bucket, doesn't
it get deflated. No, in this case, you've got a
(09:23):
beautiful fade away. And now now we get back to
the game because they're actually in the game. Now we're not.
You do there's no getting back to the game. This
is the story. There's no getting back to the game.
This is the game, this is this is the kid.
It doesn't matter. Done, We've got the record. Now we
go flay, we go back to the basketball's Lakers win
(09:45):
a game. It's no, no, it's just embarrassing to say, Lebron,
can you can you talk about how it felt to
break the all time record in a game that you
lost by fifteen to the thunder effects. I mean, that's
where the matter. Dan Wakey could ask that question for
(10:05):
me from how fast did you go from being incredibly
ecstatic for the all time record to the absolute bottom
of the barrel losing to the thunder again? How do
you feel about that? Hey, Lebron question? Hey, yes, you
had a great night tonight said in the all time record.
Really not a great night for a d kind of
a quiet night with eleven points. Do you need more
(10:27):
out of him down the stretch if you're gonna get
back in the playoff race here? Lebron? Lebron, can you
answer me that answer that? I mean that, Lebron? Is
it a must six point game for you? You know
Kareem only comes out of his house once a month. Now, Look,
I got to talk. I was I was really surprised.
I thought for sure, and and what I'm wrong. I'm wrong,
(10:49):
and I'll tell you. I thought for sure Lebron was
going to break the record on third he would get close.
And here's why, because following because Lebron is about the spotlight, right,
He's all about this spot light. And I thought for
sure coming in will be okay, needs thirty six, he'll
get between twenty five and thirty. And what that's going
to do is put even more attention on the Thursday
(11:10):
game because we know history is happening. We know what's happening.
We have two days to break it down. The anticipation
it becomes the biggest story in sports, whereas, hey, Lebron's
chase the record was pretty big, and now, oh hey,
I guess what, we're here. We're here. He's got thirty six,
he's got thirty four. He's gonna get right there. So
I thought for sure, okay, he would power down a
little bit, finished between twenty five and thirty and then
be ready break the record early on Thursday, do it
(11:33):
against Jhannice. Johannese would come up and have to shake
his hand. Because one Lebron to the next, you know,
the guy's got the same the same type deal as Lebron.
He's got a different set of skills that we've ever
seen anybody have, just like Lebron had a different set
of skills. And then we would be able to stop
the game in the first quarter. Lebron would speak, all
the Luminaries would come out, plenty of time to get
back to the game, and that's how he would do it,
(11:54):
and that's what we would get. I was really surprised,
but then you see see how things started going tonight,
Ron wearing the special headphones with a number of points
needed to break Kareem's record. You saw all the superstars
who were there, and I'm watching they keep cutting away
to everybody at the game, and and and jay Z
and Denzel and McEnroe and are you watching every Oh
my god, there's Genie Buss And I'm going, oh yeah.
(12:16):
I wonder if he told them all he's gonna do
it tonight, because it seemed like right out of the
gate he had that design. I'm gonna get it tonight
against the thunder and I'm gonna get it before the
last couple of minutes of the game where we can't
really stop the game. Right, Because what did you tell
me before? The NBA said, if it's within a certain
number of points or a certain amount of time left
in the game, they weren't going to stop the game. No,
that's it. If it was it was within six points
(12:38):
in the final minute plus, or if it had gone
to overtime, they weren't gonna stop it. So at some
point they did decide that the game still mattered. But
in this case, I mean, he was cooking, right. He's
twelve of eight team from the field, four or five
from three point range. We've talked a lot over the
course of the year of how poorly he's shot from
(12:59):
the outside in a number of games, and today shot
was on eight of ten from the free throw line.
Attacking the rim as well, and moving on the offensive end,
it's been fantastic. But again, as we've talked about all night,
nobody's played defense. So that we're we're just starting the
fourth it's one oh four to ninety nine. That that
(13:20):
exceeds most things we saw for a couple of decades
in the NBA. If you looked at average scores, how
often did teams hit to a hundred points? Yea ten
times a year. Uh, so now we're we're just in
a different phase and it's it's an amazing tribute to
longevity whatever, write the book, do the companion to TV twelve,
all of those things that that part of it is
(13:42):
really the amazing thing. But it's the largest of it,
not the combartmentalized game. I mean, it's a fantastic effort,
don't get me wrong, But trying to take it all
in and we've watched the entirety of his career. I
keep seeing in my timeline all of the old s
I covers now popping up. Not to mention everybody trying
to sell anything that has anything to do with Lebron James,
(14:03):
Like you all buy this. This is a ticket when
he scored like twelve points uh in a game when
he left early, you know that kind of thing. It's
the how do we cash in? But just an amazing
run thirty nine years that a record gets held, and
that's almost as long as uh, well, I've been alive.
So good for him, Lebron. Uh break the record tonight?
(14:26):
Uh forty five points? Uh not enough? Shy Guiltris Alexander
had thirty four? Do you think you can go get
him for the trade? Deadline and maybe change things around
down the stretch. Lebron Lebron won this game with Kyrie tonight.
But but but that's the thing though, right And look,
he got his speech on the court, but you know
(14:49):
that in the post game, it's gonna be all about
we didn't get it. I have enough to get a win,
like I'm happy to get it. And he'll read his
stats as he's wanted to do. But then he will
talk about the loss and how it hurts him and
whatever else. You know, the shortcomings of the team were.
It's a script, Lebron, could could you have gotten to
the record a lot sooner if Russell Westbrook never played
(15:10):
on the Lakers? Do you think you're gonna gotten there sooner?
How about how many how many points says he cost
you over the course of the last couple of years, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harman weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart
Radio app But at the end of the third quarter,
(15:31):
Lebron James a shout at history. Lebron stands alone scoring
record now belongs to Lebron James. There it is. Lebron
(15:51):
James is your leading scorer in the NBA all time
and fade away Jumper for his thirty five and thirty
six points of the night late in the third quarter.
Give him the record and now he stands alone. Lebron
James addressed the crowd after he cursed, even when the
(16:16):
long delay TV still left it in. I don't think
anybody was expecting it. Okay, Uh, he drops an F bomb, Lebron,
just in the middle, just as blank. All right, thanks Lebron,
an incredible moment. Joining us now in the hot line
to break it all down NBA dot Com inside a reporter,
extraordinary friend of the show. You can fom on Twitter
(16:38):
at Mark g Underscore Medina, Mark who also adjusted a
radio interview and dropped an F bomb of his own,
So he is that what's happening? Man? Can you guys, guys?
I promise I won't drop an F bomb anymore? Alright?
Can you play some defense? Um? Probably better than what
(17:01):
we've seen so far, but that's what I'm saying. Much, Mark,
joining us live from the crypt. You saw the moment.
How difficult was it to find a quiet spot for
you to come call us and talk to us. You know,
I'm in the bottels of the hallway now and I'm
trying to avoid like people running into me. But thankfully
I'm away from the court, away from the crowd. But
you know what I think if I called in when
(17:23):
the record actually happened and was broken, I don't think
there would have been such a thing as a quiet place.
This isn't the most electric atmosphere I've been at in
any Lakers game that compares to uh, you know, Kobe
Bryant's sixtie sixty point game his last game, maybe the
Boston Celtics Lakers NBA Finals Games seven in terms of atmosphere,
(17:44):
but I would put this in number two, even ahead
of Kobes. Just an amazing night from Lebron from the field,
hitting three point shots, tagging the rim. Again, I can
go to the defense, But we thought Thursday was the
more likely Mark. I surprised argue that he came out
so aggressive in this one. Yeah, it is interesting. I
(18:04):
thought it was gonna be Thursday against Milwaukee, partly because, look,
thirty six points is not hard for Lebron James the score,
but typically he's averaging and he's a player that doesn't
try to force the issue. I also thought that maybe
this is something in Thursdays came, they could kind of
get it out of the way early in the game.
They had their hands full against the Bucks teams, so
(18:25):
maybe they can provide a momentum push. But I think
my mind changed after hearing the comments from Lebron's teammates
that shoot around. Their sense was that Lebron was going
to go for the record, So I think there was
this feeling, Okay, let's get it over with, let's pour
it on out in one night, as opposed to extend
it and mission accomplished. You know. The thing about this
(18:47):
that's so wild is that this is such an unbelievable
moment for the NBA in its history, for all the fans.
I remember where I was when I watched Lebron set
the all time right, because we're never going to see
this again. This is, you know, forty years going by,
you know, but when when Cap set the record to now.
But for Lakers fans, it's kind of gonna be yeah, okay,
he didn't, right, Like for the NBA, it's this huge
(19:09):
moment individual for Lebron, But Laker fans like, Okay, yeah,
it's it's kind of just there. It's kind of wild. Yeah,
And what's interesting some people might compare you know what,
Kobe Bryant's last game was at the end of his career,
the sixty point nine, But the context is completely different,
not only just because of what Kobe meant to the Lakers,
but at that point I knew the team is bad.
It's just all about passing the ball. Here the Lakers
(19:31):
are still trying to scratch and call their way into
a planned spot. There are only two days away from
the trade, their line expiring, so there's a lot of
things kind of overlapping each other. But I can tell
you from an atmosphere standpoint as well as how the
Lakers have played there, they really embraced this moment today.
I mean, the Laker fans were begging him to shoot
basically any time they had the ball. And there are
(19:52):
a few times that Russell Westbrook was bobbing passes to
Lebron James. That was the angriest I've ever heard Laker
fans be a run. So they've been angry a lot
of times in the past two season. I think most
importantly it's just who is out here. You know, Kareem
abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Word, the A C. Greem,
Bob McAdoo, ball guys that were part of the Laker
(20:15):
showtime era, and they embraced Lebron getting the milestone. You know,
Adam Silver congratulated him at center court as well as
Creem abdul Jabar. And there's a lot of luminaries, you know,
whether it's Shannon Sharp or Denzel Washington, ll Cool Jay.
So I think that everyone was prepared for this moment,
even if it's taken at taking place at a very
(20:35):
awkward time in their season. Well, it's mark. We were
kind of wondering as we were watching it, and obviously
they kept going back to Kareem shots. But with all
the luminaries in attendance, had they gotten the note, yeah,
he's really gonna go for it today? Yeah? I think Well,
I think the attendance planned was they were going to
be at both the game tonight against Oklahoma City and
(20:56):
in against Milwaukee on Thursday. So I think they're prepared
or any scenario. I think it would have been even
more poetic if it did happen against the Laukee Partley
because that's the franchise that Kareem paid for. But in
this case, I think in Lebron, with Lebron's mindset, he
attacked early and once he knew that, you know, he
was getting a shot going, he was going to be
(21:17):
able to do this, he figured, and may as well
get it over with. And the Laker fans were cheering
them on every single possession and go to him to
want to shoot them. You know, for the most part
of work, some good m v P chance too. Yeah,
so you know Austin Reeves usually gets those, but now
Lebron has taken it back from him. You know, Lebron
(21:38):
didn't take a direct shot at Austins the other week,
but he did. You know. It does amuse me that
Laker fans seemed to give m VP chance to anyone
at the free throw a line. So you can connect
the dots that he thought that Austin wasn't deserving. Well,
I'll give you one thing is that you know you
taught me. Everybody said they were gonna come back on Thursday.
I don't know you're getting Kareem out of the house again.
(21:59):
On He didn't look like he was thrilled to be
there tonight more and I think I gotta come back
in two days. Down you got fine, Can I tape
a message for him, congrat like like Tom Brady, I'm
gonna take something for like a minute. I'll hold onto
it and I'll post it when he breaks the record. Hey, well, look,
I know that their relationship is not like they're super close,
but um, you know, I think it too. Kareem's defense,
(22:20):
he has played the ambassador part real well. You would
think that I wouldn't be surprising that, you know, any
of the old luminaries who've had records accomplished, that there
might be some hint of resentment. And I know talking
to Kareem over the years as well as you know
players on the Showtime Lakers, they thought that Lebron James
would eventually surpass them. There was a moment, you know,
(22:42):
because his record has stood untested since in four when
he broke books records, that this would be untouchable. But
in the last four or five years, a lot of
the guys I talked to you thought that it was
just inevitable about Lebron. What's surpass him? And while they
do certainly point out for context purposes. Look, Kareem played
four years of u c l A. Lebron jumped from
(23:03):
high school. Kareem war wasn't shooting threes because I thought
how the NBA was and Lebron had and there's higher
scoring offenses. Even when you put all those three caveats aside,
they feel like this is a record that Lebron really
deserves because it's a testament so just how great a
player he is and how durable. And then no matter
(23:23):
how different both Kareem and Lebron are as players and
their personalities, that the common denominator is that their skills,
they really hone on what they do best. Number one,
they make their teammates better, number two, and number three,
they really did a good job with taking care of
their bodies. So, uh, you know a lot of well
from the liquors legends to Lebron tonight, all right, Mark,
(23:47):
I gotta ask this. These guys made me out to
be an ogre and terrible human being. I didn't like
the fact that we had a long stop at you
play plenty of time for celebrations and speeches after the
game ends. Man, You're you're really ruining the Fundah fun
hater Mike Harmon, Yeah, I mean when the game is over.
(24:09):
I mean that's gonna hurt my case if I want
to write my stories and beat deadline. There, that's all
about what I want, right, Well, put my friend, what point?
Uh like? Like wouldn't wouldn't this be peaked Lebron Lakers,
Like he sets the record and they lose by double
digits to the Thunder. That would be like Lebron's Leah
(24:30):
scratching and clawing. But the first half was very fitted.
Abra was scoring. The Lakers weren't playing good defense. They're
struggling against the Oklahoma City Thunder team. Hey, that has
should coaches Alexander. But it's down if you guys, I
loude door and they're not really that great at the team.
So it's very studying. But you know, in all seriousness
to your previous question about stopping the game, the NBA
was very cognizant of not wanting to affect the game
(24:53):
drastically so to so like if this happened, you know,
finalment of regulation and overtime, they would not have stopped
because they are very cognizant that, hey, those are those
are things that can affect the outcome of the game.
But because it happened, you know, before the fourth quarter
even started, you know, it was almost like a longer
intermission between the third and fourth quarters. Alright, So Mark,
(25:16):
so let me ask you this. You know, the one
thing we've seen Now, here's Lebron thirty eight years old,
and he's averaging thirty points a game. Like we didn't
think we'd see this. We thought Lebron would You know,
he's got a lot of miles on his legs. He's
gonna start slowly slowing down, slowing down. Instead, he's scoring
like he hadn't. Yes, you know, scoring is up in
the NBA, so he is that, but he is still
(25:36):
that kind of guy. Now, what do you what do
you think he's gonna finish with? It's certainly it's gonna
be over forty thousand, you know what he's he's up,
cluck close to thirty nine thousand now, but is it
forty one thousand, forty two thousand, like where is he
gonna end up? Very well could because he has not
showed on these lines slowing down. You have to think
that you can't just assume that he's going to play
(25:58):
at his absolute best because he's gonna be thirty nine
next season. But you know, I was talking to Michael
Thompson the other day, you know, former showtime Laker, and
he feels like he's going to get into forty thousands.
And that's why he doesn't think that Kevin Durant is
gonna uh surpassed Lebron on for first place on the
NBA All scoring less. He thought that initially Kevin Durant
(26:19):
would do that, but then you know, obviously injury has
gotten the way, most notably with his achilles as well
as a few injuries afterwards during his time in Brooklyn.
But the larger point of Michael is making is that
Lebron is going to create a lot of separation between
himself and Katie. But you know what I think, because
of how today's NBA is, I don't think that there's
(26:40):
gonna be as large of a gap of Lebron holding
that number one spot as Kareem did since four. I
don't think that Lebron's ever gonna hold this record forever. Um.
You know, records are meant to be broken. But I
think it more has to do with just, you know,
the error that we're in and there's a lot of
young players that know they have their work cut out
(27:01):
ahead of them, but as long as they can, you know,
stay in the league, they can do it. Maybe there
is some thought that because of the rising salaries, there's
not as much of an incentive four players to try
to get to twenty years. Uh. Maybe we'll ad management
limits games for some of these guys. But I think
that the way that the modern offenses are constructing service
(27:21):
of being a speed game and a lot of free
point shooting. Um, you know, Lebron will hold onto that
record as long as carem to. You can follow on
Twitter at Mark g underscore Medina. That said Mark g

Lebron becoming the NBA's all time leading score Mark, thanks
(27:42):
a bunch, and and thanks for not dropping an F
bomb with us. We really appreciate. Hey, I taught a
few seconds, luff right, you take three two? Alright, take
it easy. Great stuff there, man. I'll tell you, uh,
and to let you know what's going on with the game,
because you know, Harmon, but the game, the game, the game. Uh,
(28:02):
Lebron has been sitting out of the last few minutes
of this game. He has not played since around a
four minute mark, and Oklahoma City is clinging to a
seven point lead. I don't know if he's coming back
in the game, but he's got the over shirt on.
The Lakers have cut the lead to seven. It was
a twelve point lead a few minutes ago, but now
(28:23):
they have cut it to a seven point lead with
about fifty seconds left to go. So you have to
wonder is Lebron gonna come back in is he gonna
sit out? Is that gonna be the question, Lebron, you
sat out the end of the game you needed, you
needed to win. Did you just feel like you you
got to the record and that was it, Lebron? I
mean some of the questions this postgame press conference could
just be incredibly cringe worthy. I mean it, seriously, I'm

in a glass case of emotion. Be sure to catch

at the crypt. The Lakers lose to a team who
they're chasing in the playoff RaSE story, but Lebron James
is your all time leading scorer in NBA history. Both
(29:31):
of those things can be true when they are his
thirty five and thirty six point coming on a fade
away at the end of the third quarter. We're gonna
bring it to you right now, the speech he gave
as they interrupted the game for Lebron to address the crowd,
and uh get all the plotits that come with becoming
the NBA's all time leading scorer, and don't worry. We
(29:52):
bleeped out his F bomb for you. Here it is
you you you You're cool. I'm out. Yeah, that last
one was at Kareem. Hey now I'm out, alright, and
did it? I'm out. Uh No, here's Lebron following his
big achievement. Everybody has ever been a part of this
run with me the last twenty years, twenty plus years.
(30:13):
I just want to say I thank you so much
because I wouldn't be me without y'all. All y'all help,
all y'all passionate, all y'all sacrifices helped me get to
this point and to the NBA, to Adam Silver, to
the late great David Starr. I thank you guys so
much for allowing me be a part of something I've
always dreamed about and I would never, ever, in a
million years dreamt this even better than what it is.
(30:36):
A nice soul man, Thank you guys. Happen so good.
Hey man, I'm just gonna drop an f bob right
in the middle of all of that for you can
do whatever the hell he wants now it is kind
of his day what he can't be and and people
are starting to ask us on Twitter, Uh, different social media.
(30:59):
I've got to go both things on Instagram and stuff. No,
he cannot be traded. He cannot get the record tonight
and be traded before the deadline because of when he
signed his extension. Uh, you can't get traded until six
months have elapsed from the date that you signed the extension,
which for him comes five days after the trade deadline,
(31:22):
so literally on Valentine's Day. Uh, he would become eligible
to be traded, so he can't be traded. But I
do like the thought, alright, he got his record, we suck.
Let him go play for someone who matters. Now that,
unfortunately for this season, can happen. Breaking news Lebron traded
for Kate Cunningham following the game. Congratulate Kate Cunningham can't
(31:42):
even playing. You know this remind that reminds me of
I remember, like, didn't didn't Carlton Fisk break a huge
record for the White Sox U with all time most
games caught in his in his career something like that.
Mostly no, yeah, but it was. But this for the
White Sox, from the Red Sox to the White Sox, Right,
(32:04):
But I want to say he broke the record like
for most games caught all time in baseball history. And
he did it in the first game of a doubleheader
and they waved him before the second game. That sounds right.
I want to say that happened like I remember him
say in like shorts and a shirt, like waving goodbye
to his teammates, like we're gonna let you do, We're
gonna wave you in betweet games. What if I were
(32:24):
to tell you guys right now that Lebron is riding
on Wade Bogs horse man. He's actually talking to t
NT right now the live post game. Uh, nobody has left,
even though the fact the Lakers lost by five. Already home.
Oh yeah, yeah, Koree's he's been back home like they
broke the record. He threw him the basketball and walked
(32:45):
away and said, all right, I'm done. I'm really tired. Man.
Come on, I'm seventy five. I gotta go home and
go to sleep. It's ten o'clock at night. Man, it's
gonna take me from I gotta get out of figaroa
and I gotta get off. I gotta get out of
the six so five. Come on, man, how am I
gonna get home in time? Five to? How do I
gotta get six? O? Five? Is right? Not taking the
six O five? I don't. Maybe I don't know. Maybe
(33:06):
I don't know where he lives. Maybe he's taking the six.
Maybe he is, though you know he's not. You have
no idea. Maybe he does. Maybe he is there you go.
Carlton Fist could set the record, surpassing Bob Boone catching
for the two thousand two six times. Kind of like
numbers you won't remember from basketball points being scored. But
same idea that I see you later we're done. Uh,
(33:29):
it would be an interesting theory in the next forty
eight hours what kind of deal you would have been
able to make for him. But now it's just a
will the fans have to boo Russell Westbrook on Thursday?
Or can they send him away? Lebron taking pictures with
his family at center court. We're just beginning our big
coverage of the post game Lebron James becoming the NBA's
(33:52):
all time leading scorer. Uh. Then that it feels like
the game is over, but the night is just beginning
as we have an all new kid ing in the NBA.
Lebron stands alone at the all time leading record points
for a Koreer. Somebody came on the floor. He's just
gonna blow past when he gets to forty and beyond.
(34:13):
Keep it right here. More on Lebron. This is Fox
Sports Radio. I can't believe you played bet
