(00:45):
Ti irac dot com The way tire buying. One game
left in the NBA Tonight. It started out great for
the Lakers, then it got a little dicey going to
the fourth quarter. Lakers lead the Elegans by twelve eighties
seven seventy five. Lebron James is playing Surprise, I feel

(01:07):
like playing tonight. Uh, he's got fourteen and six. But
D'Angelo Russell, you're leading scorer. He's got twenty and seven.
Helpers Anthony Davis has nineteen eight rebounds and five zion
Is Desion is still being held scoreless. There's no crazy dunks.
There's but not dude can't even get on the floor.

(01:27):
The defense is so good. It's one of the greatest
defensive efforts we've ever seen. He's invisible, fame worthy. They're
they're locking him down. It's almost like Pat Beverley is
back there and he's locking him down. He's not getting it.
Say that guy's name. He did more chirping than anything.
He took credit for a lot of stuff. He's no
longer there. So Laker fans have gone from the beginning

(01:48):
of the game going we're back, we're back, We're gonna
be great, and then it's ah, man, we gave that
lead away. Now we're back again. Nobody rides a lightning
like Laker fans. Every every good four minute stretches we're back,
we're back, and it's awesome and we're gonna win the title.
And then after four minutes and it kind of disappears,
and then that's okay, though, I mean, look, that's good

(02:09):
because that means you know, your circulatory system in your
heart is working all right. The old Homer says, I
feel fine, and then they start closing in and give
you the look at what his heart's doing, and it
actually looks like it's dancing at some point. So when
here from Laker fans at home, and right now, barring
a disaster, Jason, something bigger is a foot here only
seventy five points scored by the Pelicans. Let's go, could

(02:33):
be tacos, could be. All I'm thinking of is when
Homer wrapped the stick of butter in in a pancake
and ate it and his heart win. Butter that bacon, boy,
Butter that bacon. But Dad, my heart hurts. But we
have seamlessly gone from the NFL season the playoffs, and

(02:57):
it's like the Chiefs you have celebrate the super Bowl,
But it does it matter because the quarterback season has begun.
We have seamlessly gone in one day from the Chiefs
winning to the next season. Right, And now I get
that the NFL is a three day a year business
on it, but usually there's a little bit of a break. Hey,
you have the Super Bowl hangover for a couple of days,

(03:18):
and then you move on to other things and then
we get back when we get to the combine and
then free agency starts in a couple of weeks, but
there's usually at least a you know, a week or
so downtime where he we're celebrating the champions I mean
we had that during UM. I mean, it's been insane.
We've we we've gone. It was one day. It was
the Chiefs win the super Bowl on Sunday. We talked

(03:40):
about it Monday, and when we were on the air
Monday night, it was we're kind of ending with the
super Bowl and we're into the quarterback off season. People
don't like the Chiefs that week of the NBA. Yeah,
it's it's it's like, okay, now we're we're into Aaron
Rodgers and what's happening and Derek Carr is going to
be a free agent, and and it's like it was.
It was one day. And again I feel great because

(04:02):
I feel like I could wear my jet ski again
like usually I feel bad. I'm not back a jet ski. No. Well,
I mean, I you know, you're wearing vegas. You you
were getting you did. Yeah, they loved me and people
wanted to hurt you. They hey, we had, we had
not as much as for people are ruining our Vibe sweater.

(04:24):
You know, they were trying to cheer you up because
they saw the jet sweatshirt. I think it is what
was going on. He walked by every crops table and
instantly went cold. I'm gonna I'm gonna tork for this guy. Well,
he's wearing a jet sweatshirt. He needs help, man, It's that.
But and then you were dumbfounded. I uh, it was.
It was shocking. It was. It was. It was a

(04:45):
bit shock. Have you blind to see? No? Not really no,
not no, that that's working in front of you. Sure
you got some vizine at the hand and ready to
keep your eyes. So I'm feeling good spades, you know.
But it was a lot of it. They guess I'd
like to go back to Pittsburgh. Gotta know that I
can never go back. I don't know that I can
after last night. I'll tell you the day on social

(05:08):
media today where the take we talked about last night
on Derek Carr the Steelers. I mean, find someone who
loves you as much as Steeler fans in my timeline
love Kenny Pickett for reasons that pass understanding. Okay, um,
last night, when Derek Carr firmly officially became a free agent. Right,
the Raiders let him go. He can sign with anybody,

(05:30):
And I told you the best fit was Pittsburgh. There's
two teams that are quarterbacks away from being really really good,
the Jets and the Steelers. There in the same boat, right,
Jets have a great defense, Stealers have a great defense.
Jeelers have a couple of good running backs. Jets have
a couple of good running backs. Jeel has got a
couple of good receivers. Jets have a couple of good receivers.
They're the same team, They're both a quarterback away. Derek
car would be a great fit in Pittsburgh because he's accurate.

(05:54):
He's going to be someone to get the ball to
his wide outs. He's someone that even in a down year,
is gonna throw for I've touchdowns and yeah, that'll work.
He'll have a great time and Mike Tomlin's environment, he'll
be protected, and you know, the Steelers need an upgrade
at quarterback. You can't go in the next year with
Kenny Pickett. And suddenly it's it's as if I'm in
a different alternate earth where Kenny Pickett through thirty five

(06:15):
touchdowns last year because I don't understand the unadulterated and
unbiased and unconditional love that Steelers fans have for Kenny Pickett.
It's like the love that I see people have for
their kids. Who I love my kids unconditionally, Well, you're
supposed to. I love Kenny Pickett unconditionally. Why? Well, because
why the guy stunk? Last year? He's stunk. He and
Zack Wilson were the two worst quarterbacks of the NFL.

(06:38):
You tune your team's both need upgrades, the Jets at least,
just saying we understand it, we recognize that we're going on.
I know it's one year for Kenny Pickett, but boy,
the guy wasn't good. The Steelers didn't score points. They
won despite they won a round. Kenny Pickett, right, they
want to rent it to win because they want to round,
just like the Jets one around Zack Wilson. Well we're
five and two? Is that? No? They both weren't good.

(06:59):
They didn't what points on the board. The team struggled.
They had to win around them, the Jets at least. No, Okay,
we had two years. I know it's tougher for the Steelers,
but man, you're really saying you're okay going next year
and think you're gonna be a great team with Kenny
Pickett after what I mean, come on the guy. Seven
touchdowns in thirteen games, okay, come on, seven to This

(07:20):
is a results oriented business in the NFL, and no
quarterback sticks around when he plays the majority that games
he throws seven touchdowns seven and thirteen games and what
one he didn't play all the way through but seven
touchdowns twelve games. Five touchdowns in the last nine weeks,
when at least he stopped throwing interceptions. Okay, that's great.
But just like with Zach Wilson, Hey, not throwing interceptions

(07:43):
doesn't mean you're getting better. It means, well, I'm not
making those really bad mistakes. I'm throwing it incomplete instead
of throwing interceptions. That's great. That's not progress. Progress says hey,
Now I'm throwing for three yards. The offense is moving
up and down the field. We're scoring more than seventeen
points a week. That's progress. We're not averaging seven seen
eighteen points a week, which is what the Steelers did
this year. We're averaging in the twenties, winning more games easily.

(08:05):
We're not relying on our defensive doing things, all these
issues the Steelers have, and it amazed me to see that, No,
Kenny Pickett is our guy. What did you see? What
did you see in the season to say, Nope, this
is our guy. Last year I didn't see enough for
Trevor Lawrence. I said, boy, I don't know. And he
had a much better year than Kenny Pickett did. And
but he made the big jump this year. He had

(08:26):
the change in coaches. I didn't see anything. I hadn't
seen anything from Zach Wilson. Kenny Pickett realized they're the
same guy. They're the same guy that gives you the
same production, except maybe Kenny Pickett's confidence is a little
bit higher because at least he'll throw the football where
Zack Wilson's I don't want to throw it. I'm just
gonna hold onto it so so I don't throw an interception.
People don't yell at me online that's the only difference
between the two of those guys. Well, no, that's not.

(08:47):
That's not the only difference. You're forgetting the fact that
Kenny Pickett's teammates don't hate him. The size him, and
that that's a pretty big deep and differd. Okay, that's true. Okay, Okay,
so I forgot the Steelers really didn't like Mitchell Robiski.

(09:09):
So they okay, well, we gotta like the next guy,
because we can't hate both guys. Well, the other one
is what's real, what's imagined in terms of stories of hatred,
because everybody's come out and that really never happened. But okay,
and that's the problem with the game of telephone in
the social media era. But when we look at the
Steelers and and I get it from this angle. You
know you brought up Trevor Lawrence. Is what you saw

(09:32):
is not indicative of the player you think he could be.
And I think for for Kenny Pickett, Yeah, the jury
is out, but you're also still only on the second
year of a contract. And I know we were yelling
at each other before in the free agency game who
would you go after? Well, well, that's not the game
we're playing, right. The game is I got a second
year guy and an opportunity to go build around him

(09:54):
and capitalized with a new coordinator and a new staff
there alongside the venter double Tomlin and and what they
do as a base defensively, uh and philosophically that I
can build off of that, go add some ancillary parts
and move on versus All right, I go get Derek
card I gotta pay him thirty to thirty five million.

(10:16):
What does that preclude them from doing in terms of
handling their own situations in house of free agents, they
have to to look at which guys they want to retain,
and in the open market place, all of a sudden,
you've got no money to bid because you brought in
Derek Carr. I mean, what Derek Carr's history outside of
the pre it's broke, It's broke m VP like era

(10:39):
has shown you that he's the guy that's carrying you
to the promised land. And that's no no indictment of
the man himself outside of adopting the Elvis uh impersonation
for all his his media availabilities and having his brother
as his biggest cheerleader and using the bully pulpit of
the NFL network to try to get a message cross

(11:00):
of how he was screwed you know for nine years.
It's not his fault and he never wanted to visit
or did any of this because they screwed him for
nine years. Look Derek Carr is someone who has been
in the league now for almost a decade. Right, he's
made four Pro Bowls, and I get you know, is
not that big. Is not a big deals at once was,

(11:22):
but the guy is pretty consistent. He throws twenty five
touchdowns a year. He throws between ten and fifteen interceptions. Right,
He'll throw for forty five hundred to five thousand yards
kind of what right, So this is what he does now.
He had he had really good weapons in Las Vegas.
So but this is someone again forty hundred yards, twenty

(11:44):
to twenty five touchdowns and that's offense and a completion
percentage that's usually really really good. Right, that he had
a bad completion percentage this past year, but usually it's
up near se That's what's right. But but but that's okay,
say it's still at what what kind of if if

(12:04):
if Derek Carr played for the Steelers this year and
the end of the year, his stats were twenty four
touchdowns thirty yards Because he missed a couple of games,
he got bench at the end, so I didn't get
to four thousand yards. But twenty four touchdowns thirty yards, um,
are the Steelers a big time playoff team. Of course
they are all right, because you're talking about you started
a quarterback in Kenny Pickett who accounted for a grand

(12:26):
total of seven That's great, But you can go back
and simulate that all you want in your bed and
console if you need to. That wasn't reality. And you
have no idea what Kenny pickett ceiling is at this
point because you tell me he can't get to be
a middling quarterback. But what but why why would okay,
why are you gonna settle for a middling quarterback when
that's not what wins in the NFL you gotta have.

(12:48):
But that's why, that's why I'm asking you. Why are
you bringing in Derek Carr because he's in? Because there's
so many guys that are upgrades over Kenny Pickett. What
do I say about the Jets, I'm not excited about
quarterback X. But it's not Zach Wilson, So it's okay,
I say the same thing for Kenny Pickett and the Steelers.
It's not. It's it's there's so many quarterbacks that are
better than Kenny Pickett. I'm sorry, but there are, and

(13:10):
all of these guys that are out there now, even
though you're not excited about them. If you had any
team could say who could I have this guy or
this guy, they would pick the guy not named Kenny
Pickett because you have no idea. If they forget about
a ceiling, you have no idea. If the guy is
any good and you're really confident going in your you're
your naive. You just like Kenny Pickett because Kenny Pickett
is a guy from Pittsburgh and they got him, and boy,

(13:33):
we thought he was gonna be exciting. And we won
three games at the end of the year, and he
threw three touchdowns in three weeks. That's not that's not good.
That's not good. I watched this whole thing transpire with
the Jets. I watched a guy that had trouble moving
the team downfield. I watched a team that had to
play perfect defense every single week to try to win
the games and get in the playoffs and be a

(13:53):
team that was a difference. It's too hard to do, yes,
it's too hard to do when you don't have a
quarterback with perfect and and there's nothing that I saw
from Kenny Pickett's saying Okay, hey, next year, He's gonna
be great. None of that. There's none of that. None
of that I thought said, Okay, yeah, he's gonna be great,
But none of it tells me. Any of the guys
in the marketplace, except for the guys that you have

(14:14):
to go trade for, is great either, and they're gonna
come within thirty million dollar price tag. A quarterbacks the
most important position on the field. You're gonna have to
pay something for it. You gotta pay something for it, right,
you can't go Why would you not find out what
you have for year two? I think you can found
out what I think you found out. No, you can
keep Kenny. I'm not saying get rid of Kenny Pickett.
You can keep him, but you gotta have somebody else

(14:36):
come into play. And Kenny that was my whole point.
I said, your watches, somebody else comes in, plays plays
over it. Because he's not ready. The Jets are saying,
at least, hey, Zack's gonna take a step back. He's
not starting next year. Now, Wilson shouldn't be on the team.
But if that's what they do, okay, it should be
the same thing with Picket pick It take a step
back because you weren't ready man, you really weren't ready.

(14:58):
And everything we could do to try to like how
when Derek Carr shows up as a member of the
Jet because that's really all this is to night obfuscation
in Vegas, misdirection. You were you were seeing all the
glittery signs for the magic shows and all of those
things in Vegas while we were there last week. And
all this has been is how do I avert your

(15:20):
eyes from what's reality? And that's Derek Carring the Jets Jersey.
So what am I gonna do? I'm gonna foist him
onto the people of Pittsburgh, get them really mad while
it's all the slight of hand Smith, I see right
through you. Listen. I'm gonna help you out. Frostburg. The
chiefs many are done well. I mean he got leading

(15:43):
at potty today. Yeah, if they have nothing else to
cheer about in Kansas City except for barbecue plays. Wow, Frostburg,
what are you trying to do? Man? We're gonna be
banned from all these cities now, I can't go to Pittsburgh.
Now you just got his band from Kansas City. Put
it on the board. Yes, better than Kansas City, I
did say, Mahomes will finish with five Super Bowl so

(16:06):
three of them are going to be with another team.
I gotta be able to fly over Kansas City airspace
when I'm flying back to the East coast. Man, come on,
I gotta do that. I can't. I'm sit there and
go here comes the balloon with Jason Smith, and let's go.
Let's go get it. Let's go get that nice You
really think that is going that high with you in
it at t J. The jet carrying Jason Smith may

(16:29):
not be an actual jet anymore before, but the rumor
is that he is full of hot air t J.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the Heart Radio
app Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my

(16:49):
best friend Mike Harman puts in the bag shark or something.
Big doings going on right now in the NBA. We
have more big quarterback stories out of the NFL. But
let me say this because this is a hot take
I've been looking forward to talking about all day. No,
that's like it's like that's like mercury hot, Like that's

(17:11):
like kad that's so incredibly hot. Um maybe saw The
big news today is that we're gonna get I Am
Legend too with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan and
it's crazy, and they're going to use like, how is
Will Smith gonna be in it? Sorry? Spoiler, how is
Will Smith's gonna be in a They're gonna use the
alternative ending as cannon right, like as a May two endings,

(17:34):
one where Will Smith makes it, one where Will Smith doesn't,
and like, oh boy, but the one where he doesn't.
It was such a good movie, right, look in my
hot take coming. But okay, so what do we do here? No,
we'll use the alternate ending where Will Smith survives, and
they're gonna pick up the story twenty years after uh
the events have happened, and it's gonna be Will Smith
and Michael B. Jordan's And I can't wait. I am

(17:55):
all in because, as I've told you, I am Legend
three All Time Action movie three all Time? Are you
trying to just get the people of Pittsburgh to hate
you less by going up and throwing this out? Why
is no big deal of Pittsburg? The movie takes place
in New York, So though I think they go to

(18:16):
Pennsylvania at the end to go to go to try
to survive. I don't know, is that I don't know. Yeah, boy,
then he came in and he sat the guy, and
the Indian guy turned into a zombie and then he
slapped somebody else. Apparently if you slaps when you turn
into a zombie. I don't know if I like it
that much. I don't know. They eat all the hoges zombies.
I didn't know they're all hogie eaters. They just could
show up and only people. They just walk into all

(18:37):
the jorative term now eater. They take all the hogs.
They just walk into. The guy. The guy in in
Wawa says, oh, hey, go ahead right here, Mr Zombie,
and the zombies just take all the hoogies I walk
into where though I can't even get in the hoogies anymore.
And this goes for the state, but particularly for the
city of Philadelphia. How much money was spend and time

(18:59):
in vested in resources degrease up polls that never needed
to be done on Sunday. Well, these, you know't brought
jobs in. That's what it is. People leased had jobs
for a week or so. Degrease to polls up, didn't
use him at the end. But again people were upset
and we didn't win the super Bowl, so then they
went and they didn't uh worked out? Okay, No, we
had to think out. I think a bunch of people

(19:20):
got paid overtime the police. No, no, no, it's it's
a bunch of people got out there. And he was like, listen,
just put this shoveling in in Green Bay. When they say, hey,
what do we get, You're gonna get some hot chocolate
and a hardy handshake and ten bucks an hour. That
that might get it done. Hey, too soon, too soon,

(19:42):
too soon for the Ahuascara. Come on, he's not he's
not gone anywhere. He's not even in his darkness retreat yet.
It's not even happen yet, don't you know. He was
very mad that nobody knew it was the end of
this week. He was really mad about that. Well, but
he really just wanted to make a point that if
you're in my inner circle and anything of any level
truth about something we discussed on a trail over season,

(20:03):
looking at you, Miles Teller, or any of these other things,
if those get out into the press, I'll know who
did it. Do you think you will be excise from
the situation. But do you think he fired his pr
people who was like, hey, listen, nobody knew when the
Darkness Retreat was, Well, I'm sorry, you're fired. People have
to know this. I'm Aaron Rodgers, the Darkness Retreat or not. No,

(20:24):
I liked it. He he I think we've seen enough
of him these last couple of years, the personality and well,
the public persona, because I think part of it is,
you know, he's hanging hanging around a lot of actors,
so he's trying to pick up their craft. Uh is
the I get to be outraged and and I get
to name check all the guys that use the insider

(20:46):
tag to say, look, you didn't do anything. How many
times did he say fake news? Was it like three
or four or five? Like he just kept going, yeah,
I know he did. He did. He wanted to make
sure that nobody was play acting with McAfee as a
willing audience, as he is a hype man for SmackDown
on Fridays on Fox. It's like, yeah, go on, Aaron,

(21:10):
fake news. Yeah, Jason's crazy hostake because I was more entertaining. Well, yeah,
but let's put the light back on him for a second.
Really a top three movie action movie all time? Yes,
yes it is, Jason. You know your Mike's on? Uh
you know the three Bell okay, the three best action

(21:31):
movies of all time. So Jason's metal stand you know
markets plus unders. I understand this. I understand this. Um. Actually, no,
I'll go top four. I'll go top four because it's
tough to start making. So what do you got? Dominions?
Die Hard be dough, be dough, die Hard okay, Chris,

(21:56):
I am legend die Hard. I gotta agree die Hards
die Hard, I am legend okay. Reginald Bell, Johnson being
in there is really the thing that takes it over
mad Max Fury Road all Time and John Wick two
four best action movies of all time? Jason, Where's Killed Bill?
Kill Bill? No, not even close. You're crazy? Kill Bill

(22:19):
is great. I love it, but I already know how
it ends because the name of the movies. So I
mean you're spoiling it for me right away. Up, you
know what, No, how it says, you know what the ending.
It's just a matter of we used this way to
kill them off. Yet there you go, Top four. I

(22:41):
am legend, die Hard, I am legend, Fury Road and
John Wick part is Matrix. Oh come on, man, are
you termint matrix isn't even clause terminator too? I would
put up there, maybe that could be a top five.
First Well, Rambo Part two was better than First Place.
First Blood wasn't really as much of an action movie

(23:02):
as it was an adventure drama because you know a lot.
Remember nothing really happened in Sport for a while. Nothing
really happens in First Blood for a while, right, because
it's more of it's more of the journey of here's
here's John Rambo. You meet him, he goes to try
to find the family of his friend. At all that
and stuff happens. It's kind of a slower burn about
action movies. And I say, I'm really surprised. There's one

(23:24):
movie that he he obviously left out and he's lost, Um,
he's lost a lot of credibility in the community. Either
of the top guns. I said top Gun. Oh I'm sorry,
I did not say top gun, the top gun. Yeah,
you got Max top Gun. No, there's your top I

(23:47):
forgot you know what. I didn't say top gun, but
no top gun die Hard. I am legend Fury Road
and John Wick hop Guns an action movie, of course
it is, man, Come on, what do you mean there
was no act? There's all kinds of acts. I mean
when goose uh you come on, man, If that didn't
get your heart pumping, he and Charlotte Blackwell had some

(24:09):
action going on. He's flying in this really flew through.
Top five. There you go, there's your top five right there,
there's your top five Top guns. Got hard? I am
legend N two. You claim to be like a movie
con sure I am? And that there's your top five.
I have jingle all the way over that. You know

(24:30):
Sinbad was spectacular in that. That's way better. I don't
know is that in the top five Sinbad movies of
all time? Can you name one other sin Bad movie?
Was he Inasam? Yes? Really? He was the genie the
one that no, yes he was. He was in Sheasam
and he was the g D. No, he wasn't in

(24:52):
the It Just happened, which is the old one back
in the nineties. Come on, man, he was a house guest.
Good Burger, stop going yo, no fair? Going to his
IMDP did not look Oh yeah you did. You're just
going right down, really good Burger. Yeah, exactly what about
first Kid? Oh it? I mean he was great on it.

(25:15):
I mean it's not a movie, but I mean he
was great on a different world. And he says that's
a short. Wait now that's that that's produced by Okay,
And I'm like, oh, filmography, here you go. Now what
about these movies? What about I have it? Man? Over,
I am legend? Do you have what it? Man? What
is it? Man? You're not into martial arts movies, are you? Well? Okay,
I gotta face. Is that just a derivative of and man? No? Right,

(25:40):
wait that over end of the like End of the
Dragon is what it's like. It is better than End
of the Dragon. Really, okay, I don't have ultimatum A Born.
Movies are good. The Predators are really good. Predators great.
No Aliens more of a slow burn. Aliens more of
a slow burn than action. Top gunn Maverick wasn't top it.
I waited two hours for one plane to fly, but

(26:07):
he saved cinema is everybody? He did sure to take
all the rounds and all of these things. Come and
tell me how great I am. Robot Cop. You talk
about the most violent movie ever. That's Robot Men x Oh,
I wish the x ME would be better. That's why
that that's why Fox has to have him. I mean,
the they have to have him the m C you
soon because they got to fix the X Men because

(26:28):
they What about lethal weapon? Lethal weapon was goot lethal
weapon two better lethal weapon one. It's great. Lethal weapon
too was a great movie weapon the song cheer Down
and that was, but lethal weapons kind of it was
kind of like a comedy drama. That that's that. Lethal
Weapon is not not a full not not a full
action movie. It's kind of a comedy action drama. What
about Heat he was Heat was good. I liked he

(26:53):
was not he was all the heat. And Gladiator would
have been you know, if you like movies about gladiators,
if you you scripts was a boy dog. Uh no,
if they had a if they had a DeNiro Pacino scene,
that was kind of like John Wick and Commons fight scene,
I could say, okay, but they didn't have that. So
that's what about Roadhouse, Roadhouse and Roadhouse. I mean, as

(27:13):
much as I like the flaming guitar guy, I'll take
that over madd been things wanted he wanted to not fight.
That was the whole thing. It was about not fighting.
He took a herd out. It was spoiler, spoiler, dude,
if you haven't seen that, now the very end, listen,
and you know what, listen and and honestly, all these

(27:33):
other movies had better villains than Ben Gazzara, Like guys
like he's gonna do something, He's got Han Scruber. He's
not a Morgan Joe. Come on, not in Rush Hour
your top five? Oh my god, oh our guy? And

(27:55):
Jackson Hill says, hey, don't forget about necessary roughness for
the sin Bad. Oh you know, Robert Losua, I feel
shame Bacula and Kathy Ireland. How do we miss that?
You know? I feel Jason Bateman in that one too.
I feel Shane because you know how many times I've
seen that movie. This necessary rough as well. Okay, there's

(28:16):
a there's a period in the early nineteen nineties, right
they'll tell you about because this is this is another
one statue limitations is done. On Um, we had a
we had a hot box in the early nineties. I
said that on purpose, right, Um. We had one of
those cable boxes where back in the early nineties pay
per view they would run them every three hours, right,

(28:38):
So you would you if you wanted to pay, if
you wanted to see a movie and you said, oh, look,
the Necessary Roughness is on pay per view, and you
would say it's showing at noon at two o'clock, at
four o'clock, at six o'clock, you would type in the
time you wanted. You would type into pay. They say, great,
will charge your account. You watch the movie at that time. Now,
obviously you can watch the movie only time. Think about that.
Back in the early nineties, I want to watch a movie,

(28:58):
Gotta wait till four o'clock till the next showing. So
we had one of those boxes where you got the
free pay per views, so every two hours. So there's
a certain number of movies that I have seen more
than anybody else in the world because it just so
happened to be in that year and a half two
years Spam when I lived at home, when we had that,

(29:20):
and so the movies like Necessary Roughness, I've seen that
movie like fifty times, The Prince of Tides, I've seen
The Prints of Tides like fifty times because it was
what's playing on, all right, I'm gonna watch that, I
guess I mean some movies. It's okay, boy, you haven't
you know I've seen that? Why have you seen that
many times? Just because Eight Men Out? Right, That's why
I saw Eight Men Out so many bleeping times. I mean,

(29:41):
there's an unbelievably great movie. But that's why I've seen
Eight Men Out like a hundred and fifty times. And
I can run every line from the movie. I mean,
that's that. That's what there is, that big run in
the early nineties and necessary roughness was on there. You
just dropped the Prince of Tides, one of Goltie's finest roles. Uh.
But I I had a relative who um absolutely hated

(30:04):
Barber strikes End and cursed her until the day she
died because of what she did adapting the book to
the movies and how many changes they made what she did,
like it was, it became a personal vendetta. I got
people that have just random hatred for actress and actresses.
Why do you see this movie that guy is listed

(30:26):
as male lead number six and he did this movie
or said this thing or this woman. I hated her
here and I will never see another like Okay, then
moving on, and how the hell is Freddy got fingered.
Do in your top five and not not on. There's
a lot of action going on in there too. Be

NBA is all in the books. The Lakers with Lebron
James joining his new teammates, they beat up on the
Pelicans one twenty two, one oh two. Anthony Davis goes

(31:11):
for twenty eight and ten boards. Lebron has twenty one
and six. Yeah, De'angel Russell twenty one and seven. All
of a sudden, it's like the Lakers, we have a
big three. We're fantastic. Now we're gonna win. I mean
Lakers have. The Lakers are Chris stops Porzingis, but as

(31:31):
a basketball stop where we keep waiting for Porzingis to
be great, right, We've been waiting for it for like
eight years and to be healthy and figure it out.
Now he's been traded a bunch of times and and
he porzingis live games out. Boy. Hey, he's had a
pretty good run here. In these last three games and ten,
you know, thirty one and twelve and twenty six and thirteen,
and then he just disappears for three weeks and it's okay, yeah,

(31:53):
there he goes, and that's the Lakers are. You know,
they play one good games. All the Lakers are back.
Look at this, we're back. We beat the Pellic It's
we're so good. And then there's gonna be a couple
of games where it's, oh man, boy, they just got
boat raised by the Pistons. I mean, that's kind of
who the Lakers are there, Kristaps Porzenkis. But as a team,
they have a good four minute run and Laker fans

(32:14):
just go absolutely crazy, going, we're back, We're back. Lebron
and a d and D'Angelo Russell it's like he never left. Oh,
DeAngelo Russell's greg We're gonna get Nick Young back, we
got Slaggy. It's gonna be awesome. And it's and it's
the same, and it's gonna be the same for the
Lakers all the time. Hey, the Knicks are now winning
games with with a surgeon's precision, my friend. They they

(32:35):
have they have taken the beginning of the season they're
just boom all going on the way up. Josh Hart
is maybe wind up being the best trade deadline acquisition
in the history of the NBA. Oh boy, the three
of the NBA history of the NBA. Yeah no, I'm
not even look are you just trying to distant yourself?
So the Steelers take isn't the worst of the weaker one?

(32:55):
What were you talking about? Man, you wish, if you
you wish, you wish the Steeler's take would come true
because it's awesome and thinking and we'll get back into
it again. Yeah, exactly. Derek Carr is gonna be a
jet so it's all Fay's happen. It's probably gonna happen.
But the amount of energy you're putting out there is

(33:18):
that like you're eating your second big Mac. But I
kind of did that about you when I did. Hey, hey,
I only had one big Mac tonight because I did
have a big Mac tonight, my first year mac and
probably about ten or twelve days. Yeah really, yeah, Yeah,
you're telling me you didn't get in a cab and
go to find one when we were in Vegas. No,
I didn't get I didn't leave the I didn't leave
the Casino. I didn't go outside for two and a

(33:40):
half days. I felt like I was in um uh
Wally where they just going in space. Nobody ever goes
outside again. That's and they were sitting in one of
those bark a loungers, floating around like the wind was
like Wally, exceptance actually on the ground. You were waiting
for kids on tricycles to run up on you like
the shining. So anyway back to the Lakers and we're back.

(34:05):
I like that about you, Frostberg, that you know what,
you'll wear your heart on your sleeve and you're all
in and excitable. And then as soon as it goes
back the other way, the pendulum swings your ride at
the other side with the hate wat it's not going
back anymore. Like when Anthony Davis as an Anthony Davis movement.
Tonight he had a big game, right, scored had ten boards.

(34:27):
So everybody's gonna be happy with Anthony Davis tonight. H
he won't get the the vitriol. Of course, they go
and they beat up the Pelicans. They did a great
job on Zion. He looked good in that jacket though
it kind of looked like a Cleveland Brown's jacket, but
I wasn't quite sure. I didn't see the logo well
enough to recognize exactly what he was doing there. But
from pillar to post they played a great game. Way

(34:49):
to go into the All Star break. Now you've got
what a twenty four games sprint to try to solidify
a place in the playoffs. Will see. Lebron certainly showed
out tonight to make sure you knew he was healthy
enough so he couldn't yell at him when he played
in the All Star Game over the weekend. It's a
good job by him. But he played really well, very
efficiently tonight. And D'Angelo Russell, at least for the moment,

(35:12):
is making people really happy to say, welcome back. We
teased you a lot, but we got him on the spot.
Welcome back. Hey the Lakers, they need to do it
for a little bit longer than just here's a four
minutes spand to go. We're back, We're back. Come on, man,
just the long road begins with the first step. Baby,
let's go. Uh. We got quarterback stuff coming up in

(35:35):
the next hour, a big power hour of NFL Lamar Jackson,
beyond the move, what about justin fields? And yeah, Derek Carriox,
