Mike Harmon, I mean, every day is just a better day.
It's a bigger gift than the day before. I didn't
know today we'd be able to start the show by
saying future first Ballot Hall of Famer and New York
(01:04):
Jets quarterback Derek Carr. But yeah, that really did escalate quickly,
didn't This This is what we've been given. This is
the gift that we have been given tonight. It's like
it's like the gods came down today. You guys really
kick ass every night. Thank you appreciate that we're gonna
give you this gift. Derek Carr future first ballot New
York Jets Hall of Famer, not just a Hall of
(01:25):
Famer first ballot. Jason is there? Yeah, not make me
pull up Derek Carr stats. I'm all about a cell job,
right sure, I am all about a good cell job. Hell,
half of what we do here is get in there
and sell cell cell not just for the products and
services that we partner with our beautiful friends over at
(01:48):
tireraq dot com, where you can go get everything you
need to get up and down the highways and byways
of life safely, efficiently and cost effectively. Um No, it's
it's the idea that you have stories that we have
to sometimes look at and go, all right, how big
is this? All right? It's five? We can make it
an eight, a little bit of elevate the voice scream
(02:11):
back and forth, because there's always an argument to be had.
Let's face it, we are a witty Yeah, I'll leave
it at that, because then I start getting into what
people could see as negative discussions of us. But we
can get after it with Derek Carr, no matter how
much I'm trying to get you to sign with my squad.
(02:32):
That's something. Those are words that can never come out
of anybody's mouth. But I don't care what cell job
you're doing. Come on, man, So what happened today as
Derek car still we don't know if Aaron Rodgers in
his darkness retreat. There was no appearance today on Pat
McAfee's show. He may still be in the darkness. Maybe
he had a darkness additional maybe he's feeling so good
(02:54):
he added a couple of days to it. But he's
still in the darkness retreat. And the legend of Derek
Carr free Agent goldmine continues to go. ESPN's Diana Rassini
reporting earlier today that in the visit Derek Carr had
with the Jets over the weekend that went tremendously well.
He and Robert Sala got along well, Derek. Everything was great, right,
(03:15):
everything was great in this meeting. Supposedly, according to Diana Rassini,
the Jets told Derek Carr, you come to New York
and win, and you will be a first ballot of Famer,
not just not just a Hall of Famer, there's hall
of famers. A look, we know it's the hall of
very good. Now, you know very good people are getting
(03:37):
it down. First ballot means you are a big dime,
super duper star, first ballot Hall of Famer Derek Carr. Yeah,
but see now, now the hype machine is like, Okay,
Jason Smith is the only guy really not excited about
Derek Carr going to the Jets. So we have to
make him excited. And now it's starting to get me
a little excited. Going first ballot, he goes could be
(04:00):
a first ballot Hall of Famer. Well, let me see
if I can do this for you based on Pro
Football Reference dot com, and I'll trust them to have
amassed the proper numbers to give us the data we
need to make this argument and have this discussion. Excuse me,
Jason has a family before you go there. He has
(04:20):
been a league leader four times various categories in his okay,
a league leader four times, yeah, all right, twice. He
has led the NFL and fumbles in eighteen twenty twenty,
all right, lost fumbles are just fumbles because if it's
just fumbles, they could be they could be red Herring's
(04:44):
designed to make the opponent think that, oh, the balls
on the ground, but really no, I got it, and
now I can throw the ball deep downfield, so it
could be fumbles. As a strategical, the quarterback fakes, no,
he pretends to fake. I mean it could be that. Yeah.
He has fumbled eighty times in his career. That's good
eighth all time. He's seventh among active players. He's also
recovered twenty of them, so he's started team there. So good,
(05:07):
good job by him. Another category in which he is
led the league in the past. In twenty sixteen, he
led the league in sack percentage, being sacked at a
rate of one at every forty three dropped backs two
point seven eight percent. Okay, all right, well maybe category
hang on, but maybe with those sacks he was saving
(05:30):
everybody from interceptions. Hey, I'll take the sack to save
so it was actually a good play by him. Yeah, okay, Well,
sack percentage index he also like tied to that. He
did that one, so those are together. The one positive
for you is that in twenty fifteen he led the
NFL with four count them, four game winning drives. Okay,
(05:55):
thirty three of them. That's hall of fame may fifth
among players, sixteenth all time. So that's all. That's Hall
of Fame material right there. That's Hall of Fame material. Sure,
plenty times inside the top ten in passer rating, h
twice in passing touchdowns, four seasons in the top ten,
(06:18):
and most passes intercepted in a year. Nah, he's got
that going for him. Who MBP shares two Offensive Player
of the Year shares four Pro Bowls. Remember Snoop Hunley
also a Pro Bowler along with Derek Carr. This passion,
you know, you don't need you don't need to hit
me on the side with that Snoophunley Pro Bowl thing. Okay,
he just broked it. You don't need to do that. Okay.
(06:39):
It's a record sixty three and seventy nine. Nah. Huh.
He does have thirty five thousand career yards, so he's
got top going for him. Yeah, what about European yards.
I haven't done the conversion yet, but let's just say
a little bit more, uh, and then a little more
than two to one touchdown to interception ratio on his career,
(07:01):
first ballot Hall of Famer. What right basically just told
America in the world is Derek Carr? Thinks, well, no,
I you know, I could give him credit for one
thing though, Fellows before we can continue on, is that
unless he's actually benched or he's broken in half, you know,
it's broke, it's broke. He doesn't miss games, so he's
(07:24):
got that going for him too. No, no, no, when
he when he when he plays average, you know he's
out there. He's very dirty. He's very noticeable. He's pretty dirty.
Now let me now, let me play Devil's Advocate with
you because this is fun, right because we're talking about
he's first ballot Hall of Famer, Derek Jason, We're talking
about Derek Carr. Is this really first first ballot? That's
(07:46):
really fun? First ballot? When you put respect on his name,
when you say Denver, first ballot. You can't you see
the news can't you see like ny One coming on
the air going people in the news tonight? Uh, first
ballot Hall of Famer Jets quarterback newly minted Derek Carr
right in the opening bell at the stock exchange. They
look at that after a career which involved three World
(08:08):
World Championships, because they would say something like World Championships,
World Championships and a recent Hall of Fame induction. Here
he is New York's own favorite adopted son ringing in
the I mean you can see that, right, you can
see he can see he rings the bell at everybody
collaps for him. Now, let me let me just tell
you a bit how he can be. Don't laugh, don't laugh.
Whatever you do, don't laugh, don't laugh. How can he
(08:30):
be a first ballot Hall of Famer if he goes
to the Jets? How can it happen? It's impossible now,
remember it's not hey, nothing is at The Jets put
two guys in the Hall of Fame and had offensive
and defensive Rookie of the Years on the same night.
Don't tell me anything as a bot title of his
stag as he goes around dash as a motivational speaker.
(08:51):
Frost nothing. Nothing is impossible. The world Jets had two
Hall of Famers on one he don't tell me anything
is impossible. Uh. Derek Carr has had a decent career,
so right right to the Pro Bowls might have been
the Pro Bowl four times um if he goes to
the Jets and the Jets win two super Bowls. Okay,
(09:16):
not one, not one. I'm getting greedy, and they win
two super Bowls. If you win two Super Bowls as
a starting quarterback in the NFL, you're getting into the
Hall of Fame. Eli Manning is getting into the Hall
of Fame, whether you like it or not, going to
get it in the corner waiting for his invitation. He's
going to get in. Who's waiting? Huh Plunket? Well, Jim
(09:40):
Plunkett played an earraw where you know, through eight passes
in a in a game. But he ain't in, right.
But this is when you're talking about the modern era
of quarterbacks winning and Eli win Super Bowls. That doesn't
matter generally, you would you you are a Hall of Fame.
You're going to the Hall of Fame. Derek Carr had
a pretty good career, five Pro Bowls. I don't know
(10:02):
that Jim Plunkett, you know, made it into Pro Bowls.
I'm not. I'm not sure. I don't. I don't, I don't.
I don't know they actually made it into a Pro Bowl.
But yeah, I don't think. Let me say I played defense,
then yeah, n I don't think am I comnaming him?
He was zero Pro Bowls. Jim Plunkett. Jim Plunkett was
(10:22):
zero Pro Bowls, but it did win two Super right generally,
and most of his career he started less than twelve
games in a year. So let's just realize that. Hey,
remember the NFL once upon a time was a twelve
game uh league? This was yeah, but he's still played
three eight, nine, four. That's not a lot of games. Uh, Eli,
Manning's getting it. Derek Carr wins two Super Bowls and
(10:42):
has a career just like this. Let's say has a
career just like he's had and he plays four or
five more years, he wins two Super Bowls, He's going
to the Hall of Fame. He's first bout all of Fame.
But Derek Carr, just think about this. I won a
Super Bowl with the Jets, not once, not just one,
which seems like, okay, it's once every high dred years. No, no, no,
I did it twice. You win the Super Bowl twice
(11:04):
with the Jets. Who's keeping you out of the Hall
of Fame. Who's saying, no, no, we can't for this guy.
This guy got the Jets into the Hall of Fame
this guy. But you took before the show, Jason, I
want some Oh hey, listen, listen. I'm not saying that
Jets are gonna win to Super Bowls, but if they do,
he's a first ballot Hall of Famer. Someone had to
write out the path, right, someone had to make it
(11:24):
and try to speak it into exist, and Jason Smith
is going to be that guy. M And now he
is working on a It is a work of fantasy.
This is not quite gronk erotica, but it's it's right
in the same vicinity. When you start talking about the
Jets winning multipleper I know it really it really loses
(11:46):
it really loses steam when you get to the part
of it the Jets can win multiple Super Bowls with
this guy. But I'm saying, how does it happen? And
he can do this, and he can do that, and
the Jets will win multiple Super Bowls. What's next? They're
gonna have Magic Johnson come out and tell him his
jersey's gonna hang at the top of that life. Oh
(12:06):
now you're talking. There's a cell job right there, right
but that but but tell me that's the Jets winning two,
not one. Who Super Bowls. If he does that, yeah,
anybody's a Hall of Famer. If Zach Wilson that for
everybody else, what's gonna be related to this story then,
because it's the Jets, there's leading. Oh, he led the
(12:28):
Chiefs to two super Bowls super Bowls. Come on, man,
The Giants have one Super Bowls and lead the Patriots
of one super Bowls. The Steelers have won super Bowls
and all these teams have won sum the Niners have
one super Bowl. That doesn't matter the Jets. It's like saying,
the Jets and the Lions is what it would work for. Dude,
you led the Lions to two super Bowls. If Jared
(12:50):
Goff led the Lions to two super Bowls, he's getting
into the Hall of Fame. The Jets, the Lions are.
It doesn't matter who plays got him at that point, Well,
it is a Hall of Fame. It's not the Hallow,
you know. I mean, well it is all very good now. So,
but I mean the Jets and the line, I mean,
you're getting in. You're absolutely getting in. There's no way
you're not. There's no the Jets think about Harmon, not
any other team. The Jets. Yeah, all of fame. Well,
(13:14):
talking about regular NFL teams. We're not talking about NFL teams.
We're talking about the Jets. You're going out all ai
and using jetstead of instead of practice. My head hurts
from this really is kind of an interesting thing. I mean,
it's either matter. You gotta do some top five lists.
I mean that's that's what you're Yeah, okay, sure, sure
(13:35):
what players can win two super Bowls? The lead that
no matter what they do, that list is is Derek
Carr with the Jets and Jared Golf of the lines.
That's it right there. How great is this? That's your
way and that that's the cell job? Think about that?
Coming in all right? How do we put you in
a Jets uniform? Not how do I come about? Smart salesman? Yeah?
But how do you into Jets uniform? This is go
(13:57):
see Cow's last mission. That's damn right. Just see Harmon
in a in a plaid jacket trying to tie his tie. Hey,
what do we need to do to get you in
one of these? Because what do we need to get
you into a Jets uniform? Tell me what do we
got here? I got all kinds of stuff. I gotta
dashboard Jets. Is your brother gonna shut up as we've
had enough of him too? Oh? Yeah, yeah, No, I
(14:18):
admit I've already had enough of David Carr. I've had
I've had enough of man. If your brother wants to
cry and moan about the way he felt done dirty
by the Raiders, then get in front of a damn microphone.
Don't use you as the emissary. Yeah no, no, I've
had enough of him. Yeah, honey has bad hair. Yeah no,
I've he's got more hair than I do. I can't
(14:38):
really say a whole lot, Mike, everybody has more. Yeah,
not true, that's true. That's true. Twitter at about a Fresca.

Be sure to catch live editions of the Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harman weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
(15:19):
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Well,
we'll get a Big Bowl prediction coming up in a
couple of seconds for this year in the NFL, but
big NBA headline today, the Atlanta Hawks fired head coach
Nate McMillan, clearing the way for an immediate search that
is going to start with Quinn Snyder, who was the
leading candidate to take over for Nate McMillan. Now, I
(15:42):
don't know if it's just you, Mike, but when I
saw the story, say, I thought to myself, I feel
like Nate McMillan has been coaching since the nineteen seventies,
Like he's been coaching different teams. First, so long he's
been a head coach. I mean this is over twenty
years he's been a head coach in the NBA off
and on. He was an assistant head coach of the Sonics,
then he jumped to the Blazers, then he jumped to
(16:03):
the Pacers, and he jumped to the Hawks. Like he's
feel like he's been coaching forever. But it makes me
cry because I remember him playing right I remember him
being drafted, playing his entire career, and then it still
seems like he's been coaching forever. Not not that I
can not that I can one up you on it,
(16:24):
but I vividly remember his picture in Sports Illustrated going
into the senior year of his season or North Carolina State,
where I forget what the theme was, but it was
him like balancing, like spinning a bowling pin on one
finger and him on to on a bunch of bowling
pins like that was the picture they had of him
for whatever reason. I don't know why, but I remember that,
(16:46):
like I remember reading that article of boy, n Nate
McMillan's going to be really good as a senior in college. Yeah,
that's where we're at, Like he's been for a quarter
so tree, I took it. So look, I feel like
they when I turned forty, I turned forty. I'm like, well,
I feel okay, turned forty, but wow, four decades, man,
that's a long time. Like, wow, Nate McMillan, this has
(17:08):
been a long time. Yeah, And of course you know
the Knicks are gonna hire him to replace Thibodeau when
it all works out, when it all finished this so
that's gonna happen. There'll be fine. Yeah, I just go
through the process. Right they're they're one game under five
hundred of twenty nine and thirty right now. Uh, and
they're the eighth seed and he got fire. Yeah, you know.
(17:30):
And that's the thing is that when coaches get fine,
this is this is this is a new thing with
the NBA, that this might be one of the last
times we see it. Now. I get that the Hawks
were at a certain level a couple of years ago.
We were ascending. We had Trey Young. We should be
better than where we are right now. So I understand, Hey,
something's up. We're not we're not getting better. We're kind
(17:51):
of treading water. So we have to make a change.
So I get that part of it. But in the end,
it's really gonna in the end, it's gonna turn out
being just about the playoffs because the right sular season
is getting so whatever. You know, like No One, you
don't need to finish, Oh well will you finish at
the bottom of the Western Conference last couple of years. Well,
you're in the playoffs. You're in the play in tournament.
Because you're in the play and you're in the playoffs. Right,
(18:11):
that's the thing. Now you're in the play in tournament,
you're in the playoffs. Right. No one talks about seven
to ten is the play and no, no getting in
the playoffs, and seven through ten is in the playoffs.
So that's in now. No one talks about how, hey,
we were third last year in the East, now we're six.
We were fifth last year and now we're seventh. We're
really not trending upward. No, we're making the playoffs in
(18:32):
a largely regular season without consequence. So okay, So it's
really going to be in the future about Okay, how
are we doing in the playoffs? What do we do?
How do we do? Are we able to go from
one playoff one year? How are we in the playoffs
the next year? Did we make a move, we make
an adjustment? Are we spinning our wheels? That's gonna be
how you're gonna see coaches evaluated because this whole hey,
(18:55):
regular season, Hey, we're here, we're not. Nobody cares about that.
Nobody cares where are you finished in the regular staff? Hey,
it's great to finish first, it's great to finish second.
It's great to have the home the home games all
the way through. It's great to be that good. When
you're that good, you know you're an NBA title contender,
But by and large, regular season is yeah, it really
doesn't matter that much. We're talking about Lebron just getting
into the playoffs and then okay, you just get it.
(19:15):
What does it matter where you get in. You get in,
you win a couple of games, and now you're in
a series. It doesn't matter what happened, just have to
get in. It's the evaluating coaches and players by the
regular season now is like, we can't there's no reason
to do that anymore because it's it doesn't really matter
like it used to. Well, I like that you roped
in the Lebron comments and where he's at in the continuum,
because that was one of the sound bites that is
(19:38):
going to feed NBA, Twitter, social media, sports talk radio,
and television for the next couple of months. Right, the
most important twenty three games regular season games of his
career talking about if he doesn't go to the playoffs, Now,
that's one of the giant stamps at the end of
his run. Yeah, you got the record and cap was
(20:00):
and he gave you the basketball and all that stuff.
You had your moments in the All Star game. You
had guildes Alexander going, well, he played no defense all game,
and then he comes to try to block my dunk
and he hurts his finger in the process. Right, so
you've got that. You didn't you didn't pretend to play
a liquid defense and then you got hurt deciding on
(20:22):
that play. So bad job by you. But McMillan twenty
seven and eleven when he took over, they would go
to the conference finals then lose in the first round.
After a forty three and thirty nine season, Now you're
at five hundred, and it really comes down to how
much does Trey Young hate him? Right? I mean that's
the subplot to all of it, Right, is you kept
(20:42):
seeing the word friction for the last couple of months.
You've been coming into the year like they don't they
have this uh you know, go along, get along kind
of thing, But underneath the surface, there's some some hostility,
some resentment, some whatever about style and that they they
don't necessarily get along. What's real, what's imagine, what gets
(21:03):
amplified in our media space is remains to be seen,
but what it does is all right, you're a five
hundred team riding out the rest of this string, you
don't expect to move up much. But you're in that nice,
meaty range where you, as you say, gonna make the playoffs.
And look at the Western Conference with Lebron and company,
(21:23):
it's like you got two teams in Texas that are
just awful and so far beyond anybody else, and now
you just have to climb the wrongs to try to,
you know, make that little push fourteen and nine for
the rest of the season to get to five hundred.
But in Atlanta, they I don't know if they're looking
for a first mover advantage in the coaching cycle or
(21:44):
just to spark. Maybe it frees up young and the
offense to move a little differently, whatever the case may be.
I was a little confused when you are in the playoffs,
but then I paused and said, again, everybody makes the playoffs,
So what's the difference. Yeah, look, that's how it works, right.
(22:05):
Uh So yeah, here we go. So here you go.
The Hawks, they fire Nate McMillan. Likely Quinn Snyder is
on the way. M NS head coach McMillan, speaking of
the Knicks, you know, GM Landry Fields said he's gonna
start pursuing his new head coach right away. And I
guarantee you the average NBA fan is going Landry Fields
doesn't still play for the Knicks. He's not like on
the Knicks bench. Like he's not like the tenth eleventh guy.
(22:26):
Not really, he's not in the Knicks anymore. Oh, he
hasn't played since like twenty fifteen. I thought Landry Fields
is still the Knicks. Okay, out of Long Beach, California,
Pride of Long Beach. He's only thirty four. Yeah, I know,
thirty four. He got hurt. Yeah, it was a hip injury.
I think is what happened to him. He had to
retire when he was really young. But now he's a
GM at thirty four. It's awesome, old and unaccomplished. How
(22:49):
about a Big Bowl prediction for the NFL for next
season for about Yeah, we're jumping back to the NFL. Yeah,
it's got nothing to do with future Hall of Famer
Derek Carr. Well, he is a future hall Derek Carr
is a future Hall of Fame legend. Well, he could
be that beat. I can't wait to see what the
Post does with that, you know, I wanted to get
(23:10):
this in before we got to people changing teams in
the beginning of free agency, because I want to get
this in because as we've gone through last year, remember
it this time I told you, hey, my surprise team
next year, I'm gonna give you the Eagles are gonna
go to the super Bowl and Jalen Hurts is gonna
win MVP. Two predictions that boy, I feel I'm putting
(23:33):
that on my Mount Rushmore this year because the Eagles
got to the super Bowl and Jalen Hurts almost won
the MVP R He didn't get a lot of first placebos,
but he finished second. Okay, So Jalen Hurts finished where
he was like eighteen twenty to one odds because he's
a quarterback and it's like the you know, he was
like the fifteenth or seventeenth highest thoughts. So I feel
pretty good about that. So if you're asking me, okay, hey, Jason,
(23:56):
you got you got a MVP super Bowl prediction for
next year, I do you ready for this? I'm gonna
get you just like who's the Jalen Hurts Bears? Who's
the Bears? Will trade justin fields? Uh? I hate you
and everything you stay you hate it because I put
it out in the universe and now it's going to happen.
And now it just started ground swell. I just turned
(24:17):
in one of our breaks a clip from from Colin
Cowherd jumping on that. So all of a sudden, you know,
only it's got this ground swell as support. I still
say it makes no sense, but that's fine. Month and
a half ago, I told you watch that the pressure
of picking number one, you're just not taking Bryce Young.
I'm telling you it was before the Bears are even
finishing first. But when it goes going to the last weekend,
(24:39):
I think this because there's a hatred of me that
you just haven't been able to express properly. So I
decided to take it out through Justin Fields. I need
to text you the picture of Justin Fields as a
jet again. I need again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you need
that again. I spent a couple of hours. Yeah, go ahead.
So who's my Eagles Jalen Hurts for twenty twenty three?
Who can win the m VP and take his team
(25:02):
to the Super Bowl? What's what's Allen and the Bills,
Zach Wilson and the Jets. Derek Carr obviously Derek Carr,
the Jets would clearly be on that list. Future Pro
Football Hall of Famer first ballot Derek Carr. But I'm
gonna give you like I gave you the Eagles last
year and Jalen Hurts, I'm going to give you the
Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars to the Super Bowl,
(25:26):
Trevor Lawrence to win MVP. All right. We saw them
take huge strides the second half of the season. They
got into the playoffs, they pulled a miracle comeback to win.
They probably with a little more seasoning would have beaten
the Chiefs in that game. The Jet we are getting
ready for the dominant era of the Jaguars in the
(25:48):
AFC South, just like I Just like I said, Hey,
Bengals fans, don't worry about it. The era of good
feeling is here. You guys are gonna run that division
for the next ten years and be a yearly Super
Bowl threat. The same thing is happening right now for
the Jaguars. It is the era of good feeling. They're
gonna run that division for the next ten years. Trevor
Lawrence took huge strides to hear the players talk about
(26:09):
the leadership that he was able to express this year
getting it done on the field. The Jaguars play in
a really crappy division. Trevor Lawrence is ascending. Watch they'll
get Calvin Ridley next year. Remember he's gonna come back.
He's already applied for reinstatement and he's probably gonna He
sat out of year. I can't believe he's not. I mean,
(26:30):
he stayed out, you know, nothing else happened. I can't.
But he's not gonna get reinstated. But Lawrence has that
it factor MVP wise, He's got the it factor. Only
Joe Burrow really has the same kind of it factor
of quarterbacks that are that are on the ascension because
la Patrick Mahomes has gotten there. He's won a couple
of Super Bowls, so only Burrow can compete with him.
But so from that, yeah, people would love to give
(26:52):
the MVP to Trevor Lawrence. Here. He is a generational
prospect we told you about, and the Jaguars as a
team here they come. Watch out Jaguars the Super Bowl.
Trevor Lawrence MVP. There's my Jalen Hurts Eagles Bowl prediction
for twenty three yeah, I like that. I'm bringing an
army of shaman and medicine people and I'm going to
(27:14):
the Chargers. No, look at it, you're falling for the Chargers.
I'm falling for you know what I haven't though I
haven't historically, Now I will now I will for your
odds as we go. You've got twenty eight to one
on your Jaguars, fifteen to one on Trevor Lawrence. I'm
going twenty two to one for the Chargers and eleven
(27:36):
to one on Justin Herbert. And again, they've got a
lot of moving parts. Receiving core is gonna look a
lot different. You do get Slater back and expect that
the run game has a different look to it. My
only concern with this team every year, and this is
the one where I'll probably bang my head against the
wall until it bleeds, is that the training room lets
(27:59):
me down continually if you want to start going week
to week of who's up and who's not. And I
don't mean this as the the end to be antagonistic
of Frostberg. I am picking them as a as a
dark horse Super Bowl runner here, but the idea is
I like the talent on the field, I just need
to see them on it. Yeah, that's the thing. But
(28:20):
it's I feel like it's it's always something like I
love I love the child, but it's it's always something
it's like, well they're injured here, Well everybody's now going
to jump off them, So it's time for me. He
established the bandwagon in my image with my likeness, wearing
my cool sunglasses that I wore last night into the
(28:41):
studio and ready to lead that with a giant thunderbolt
like Izus himself at the front of a bandwagon. So
you're like when you're playing King of the Mountain when
you're a kid, and like there's a bunch of people
at top of the mountain, they decide to stop playing
and they all go down, and you're like, I could
be at the top right now and everybody's done playing,
and you crawled the top and stand there and go,
I'm the kicking of them out now, but everybody else's
(29:02):
stopped playing. That that's being about them out now, like
the activation of the game right because everybody, Look, it
might have been snack time, they might have had some
orange slices they needed to go consume, and then someone's
got to be the one to say, you know what,
We're not done here yet. Our day is not done.
Our parents don't want us back home yet. The lights
aren't on, and nobody's yelling about dinner. They told us
(29:24):
to leave and go play and not come back. Twitter
and out about a fresco Mike and swollen down The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Arment. So
there you go our bold prediction picks for next year
in the NFL. I'm telling you give me the Jags
and give me Trevor Lawren Dua. I would hashtag it,
but I don't know how many us and duvall like it,
(29:45):
like the is it three? Is it four? I don't know,
or you can go three or four, you can go
jokes and mendoz on it. Okay, very hashtag bortles bord dude.
We just need some rule changes and an offense and
a defense. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific. So while he's waiting to figure out
(30:09):
where he winds up, and certainly Aaron Rodgers situation is
front and center. Apparently Aaron Rodgers still on his darkness retreat.
I thought for sure it was four days. It was
scheduled for the end of last week. I thought for
sure he'd pop out like Groundhog Day and go on
Pat McAfee show and say, hey, six more weeks and
mean not waiting till I decide. I make my decision now,
(30:30):
or I'll make my decision in six weeks, because he
hasn't had his moment of clarity yet. Right. We talked
about it last week, the one to Blatemala, three day,
five days, seven day, a month, whatever it's gonna take
to get you to your piece of enlightenment. All right,
So we don't know if he's out of it, which
means he must still be in the darkness retreat. So yeah,
(30:51):
let's do this. Let's turn all the lights off, turn
them all off, turn everything off. It's time to go
into darkness retreat. Time to go in all right? Very good?
I mean it ten days only two thousan eighty dollars
plus the flight. You must have something on because you
were reading off of it. Turn the computer off. No,
I looked at it because I was hung it. There's
(31:12):
no way you can still remember those numbers. There's no
once I'm done with all the soccer travel this summer.
I may disappear and go do with one of these retreats.
No no, no, no no no, just in guadal the
Darkness Retreat. Last time we were here, we went, we
got into Derek Carr's Darkness Retreat. It was very difficult,
are very dark. We need to go find Aaron Rodgers.
We're all in now, me Harmon Frostburg, Isaac lowenkron r
(31:37):
e l X. All right, can we stop for food?
We're feeling um well. The last time we were here,
De Sager stepped on and killed a cat. If that
cat is still around, okay? That cat? Yeah, I mean
like two or three times too. It wasn't just one.
There's some milahuasca tea in the corner. Isaac. Oh, you
know we can get you know we can get in here, Isaac.
(32:00):
We can get dark chocolate. I bet dark chocolate. Yes,
it's the one that I gave you that had the
half cup of or she's special dark. Yes? Is it
as dark as the Raiders? Yes? Okay, all right, Isaac?
What do you see? You? You are our point man
last time? What do you see? I see hallucinations about
(32:23):
cant in a while. Do you think these mushrooms are edible?
How do you know their mushrooms growing through the floor?
What are you in a field? Okay? Floor? Okay, listen,
this is not a Saw movie. It's a darkness retreat.
All right. Why does Aaron Rodgers have a chainsaw? Jake?
(32:46):
Saw's not in here. It's a darkness retreat. Okay, not
happening now, I hear the chains being D's not Carrie
always is not can Why does Aaron have balloons? This?
(33:09):
I see lafloor and no one's floating easy lafleur. Joanie
loves please telling you how easy it would be to quit?
All right? Wait wait, I'm at some steps. I'm at
some steps. Let's go up. Let's go up these steps?
Are you going up? Are you rolling it down like
you're in the wheel chair? Now we're going up the horn?
(33:31):
Up the steps. Point we're going up? The steps knocked down?
The steps we're going up. These are a lot of steps.
I may need to stop for food. Isaac might have
had a good idea, don't skip leg day, or at
least a drink. These are a lot of steps. Oh, okay,
at the top of the steps, at the top of
the steps because you can't go five minutes without food.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, So why why is
(33:52):
that a bad thing? Food was bad? Hey? Food is
the food of this Journey's really taking a long time.
All these snack breaks for Smith's really taking us off
our schedule. Here, just seat these, I peel the orang
just for everybody. Just put them. Put them all in
(34:14):
the plastic bag when you're all done. Thanks coach, put
them all on the plastic bag. I mean, Jason, thanks
coach too. I'm gonna wake Aaron. Wait a minute, Wait
a minute, what's this? Hang on something from me? Hang on,
hang on. I feel like this is a life size teacup.
So either we're in Disneyland or Matt Hatter's tea party,
(34:36):
or Aaron Rodgers has a life size teacup there stuff
in it too. Can you feel that? Can you feel that?
Put your hand in, put your hand in, feel that. Yeah,
it's his ego, it's due. I think one of us
(34:58):
should jump into the uh tea and that will take
us to Aaron Rodgers. Jump in the someone, jump in
the tea cup. Do do do do do do? Jump
in the tea cup? Do do I can't swim, but
I'm ready. Go ahead. I see blue and he looks glorious.
(35:19):
All right, Harmon, you're gonna jump in? Yeah, I'm in.
Let's go all right? All right, ready, hang hang on,
I'll give you a boost here. I hold my jaunty hat.
I will okay, yeah, I don't want you get that. Okay,
important stuff. And Harmon's in. Harmon's in the cup of tea?
Does he even come out of this like the Joker
and the original Batman? Wait? Why didn't I hear Harmon?
(35:40):
Are you sure you're in there? I didn't hear a
splash splash? Where's the splash sound effect? That Alex Tisher?
Always as ready, always as it ready it was, Harmon
was just falling through. All right, Take a drink, harm
take a drink. Take a deep drink, deep drink, deep drinka.
(36:04):
This is gonna be it right here, I think this.
I think Harmon drinks and what he sees is what's
gonna happen. Okay, I'll get drink some more, drink, some more,
drink some more. There you go. Good. Wait, what do
you drink like a cat? Your tongue is lapping the water.
Drink drink dire golp godol good. Okay, now should belch
(36:24):
on Q. But I'm on air and that'll live forever,
so I won't. It's you've done into the worst. What
do you mean you've done and said worse things? Okay,
what do you see? What do you see? This is it?
This is it? Now? What do you see? I see
a glowing briefcase? Is it? Question mark on it? Is it?
(36:45):
Marcellus Wallace's soul? Could be could be a glowing gold jacket,
could be the key to the ruling of the NFL.
But I don't know how to unlock it. Isaac. You
have the key. Use the key you have that you
(37:06):
found that you found her, that cat that the Sager
stepped on. It was around the cat's neck. Now that
would make sense actually, But buddy, want to give me
a hand here? Hey, fats from a right? Wow, all right, Ilo,
open it up? What is it? What's in there? What
do you got here? We go? Okay, it's a packet
(37:33):
of just for men hair coloring. Jersey addition. Allegedly it
looks so natural jersey and wait, jersey addition, Jersey addition,
Jersey addition. Where did the Jets play New Jersey. That's it,
Rogers picking the Jets. He's picking the Jets. We did it, guys,
(37:55):
we did it. We found the ayahuascad harm and jumped
in and pulled out the briefcase. Ilo opened it in
Jersey haircut. That's it. We got it, man, This is
not what I signed up for. We got it, dude,
We figured it out. He's going to the Jets. Oh
that's the best darkness retreat ever. Man. Oh that's fantastic. Well,
I mean it to choose your own adventure. Did an
(38:16):
adventure and you decided that Jersey had to mean that.
I'm as opposed to he puts on the jersey and
becomes a dirty pirate. No, no, now he's there. Your
spirit seems cleans there, Jason, Yes, it does. It does well.
After a couple of days in the darkness retreat with
your tea and whatever food they give you, you might
(38:38):
have another cleanse going on as well. Come out fully healthy.
