(00:25):
Sports Radio. Hello, Welcome inside our three, The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon. Steven Sager in for Harmon tonight,
where Yeah, I'll tell you the zombie Lakers fans, the
ones who have the fever of we're back, We're back.
They're running things right now. They're gonna win tonight despite all.

(00:48):
If they don't steve, it's all your fault, it's all
your you just curse them. Lebron James has eleven points.
He is four out of nineteen from the floor. DeAngelo
Russell played nine minutes a night. Sprained his ankle on
an inbounds pass. That's Lakers for you. Sprained his ankle
on an inbound but X rays we're negative. Yeah, so

(01:10):
hopefully he's not out too long. Maybe kare in a
game with Yes, Kareema is out. Yeah, he's out. He's
he's well, he's not gonna play for a little while.
Uh Worthy though could come back late in the second half.
He can get he can bet get from Spectrum Sports
down to uh down of the arena. Rambis shattered his glasses. Yeah,
well they got to get new glasses for him. You
got to bring back up glasses to the game. Penberthy

(01:31):
available off the bench, Mike Penberthie Rick Fox can still play.
Give a couple of names. I think he's got some
sort of call time in the morning. Yeah, he's away
fighting Doug Christie. Oh wow. Uh Now, despite all of
this going on the backs, maybe the Lakers are thumping

(01:52):
the Warriors ninety eight to eighty two. This is a
game the Warrior's playing without Steph Curry. Thompson's got twin
be smacking them without with him. But come on. Malik
Beasley with twenty five points to lead the way for
the Lakers. He's got seven threes, and off the bench,
Austin Reads with seventeen and Dennis Shrewder getting the Lions

(02:15):
share of the minutes of point guard now that D'Angelo
Russell is out, eleven points, six assists in twenty four minutes.
You got Lebron and a d of combined for twenty
three points in the fourth quarter, and the Lakers are
up by sixteen twenty. What is happening right now? What
is happening? They're back, That's what's happened. I mean, this
is insane. If the Lakers win, they will be a

(02:37):
mere one and a half games behind Golden State, which
is one of the play in teams right now. And look,
and I'll tell you this would be would this be
a big win for the Any win is a big
win for sharers. This is also win over a team
that you should win because the Warriors are terrible away
from home right there. They're absolutely terrible. They are. I mean,
if you throw out San Antonio or and Houston are

(03:00):
going anywhere, they're the worst day to west pretty much
on the road. This would be seven and twenty three.
So not surprising the Lakers would win this game. Now
surprising that they're winning with Lebron not having a great
night nor a d But this is this is kind
of why I'm where I am with the Lakers. If
you are realistic about what the new look Lakers can do,

(03:22):
and I feel like I'm realistic when it comes to
them with twenty three games left, we know it's the
most important twenty three games with Lebron James's career. Looking
at a if they they can go fourteen and nine,
that's about where I think that that's pretty good. That's
five games over five of the easier schedules too. Yep,
they can do that and then find themselves around five

(03:44):
hundred and squarely in the playing round. That's kind of
where you're gonna need to be. You finish around five hundred,
you'll be somewhere from seven to ten in the Western
Conference because teams don't just start winning seven to teen. Boy,
they're catching five. No, seven to ten teams are gonna
stay there because that's why they're there. But the Lakers
made a lot of improvements that change their team more
than any other team at the bad line. So could

(04:05):
I see a little bit more of a swing for them, Yeah,
But fourteen and nine, yeah, and getting the playoffs and
getting into that playing round and percent I can see
that for the Lakers. They get to host Golden State
again in one of those Sunday afternoon Network games in
just a couple of weekends. Golden State's going to be
back in LA, the same bad road team that we're
talking about. Maybe Curry will be back then, who knows,

(04:25):
But it doesn't seem to matter on the road with
this team this year. Golden State is deservedly a five
hundred club overall, Steve, We've still played the Bowls twice.
We play the Knicks are no wait, wait no, Pat
Bev is going to knock the Lakers out of the
playoffs by himself, by himself, Houston twice, Pad Bev. This

(04:46):
is about twenty and three going down the STA. This
is where the NBA said, you know what, maybe flexible
scheduling be good. Maybe we give the Lakers a bunch
of games at home against the Warriors and they finished
with like Houston and Detroit and teeth. Yeah, why don't
we Why don't we do that? That'll be the three
teams they play the last twenty three games, Houston, Detroit
and the Warriors at all. That isn't that's they go

(05:08):
twenty and three. This Sunday afternoon, the national game is
Lakers Dallas, So it's Luca and Kyrie against a d
and Lebron. That's another win theoretically, theory, all four of
them gonna play, all four of them gonna sit out.
You never know what the odds get Todd Ferman on
the line, then not gonna happen. Not gonna happen. And meanwhile,
I would be remiss if I didn't say this. Um,

(05:29):
speaking of the Lakers, Memphis lost again tonight. They are
now four and ten. Since the Shannon Sharp game, maybe
he's the MVP of the NBA this year. The Grizzlies
were great, top of the West. Look how good they are.
Then the Shannon Sharp game shows up where he wanted
to fight everybody on the Grizzlies, and suddenly here they

(05:51):
are now four and ten, four and ten their last
fourteen games. The Sacramento Kings are right behind them for
the second seed in the West. Lookout, and even if
Memphis does wind up with the two seed, I think
it's realistic, even before the month of March to say
they're probably not going to get the one seed. Right already,
I think it's, oh, this is not going in that

(06:11):
direction for Memphis. No one, Oh, already the Nuggets have
the first seed. Clips you think about what the wreckers.
If you're you're a team that's winning at a seven
hundred clip, You're not suddenly going to start losing games.
Other teams would have to win at an inordinately large
clip to be able to catch them. So even if
the Nuggets go, say, eleven and eleven, you gotta go
seventeen and five to pass them. Yeah. Yeah, and that's

(06:32):
and that's not gonna This is why all the Lakers
have to do, guys, is get in and then they
win the title. Lakers are twenty with ten minutes to come.
This game is ober. Put it on the board. Hey, hey, Frostburg,
I don't see anything that could go wrong for the
Lakers now. This is this is absolutely it's over. You
can count this as a win already as the jello

(06:55):
is jiggling. Oh man, I'll tell you this is really something. Yes,
Lakers up by twenty one o two to eighty two,
Golden State, twenty point lead with ten minutes left to
go in the game, and Lebron is five of twenty. Yes,
and they're still twenty. He's not having a good night,
and still the Lakers are winning. They're back. I forget

(07:18):
about the Sun's getting k D. Maybe the Lakers are
going to run. Maybe they will go twenty and three,
twenty and three three. We're living in Austin, Texas, where
you hear the Longhorns fans. Texas is back, Texas back,
Lakers are back. It would be as if the Longhorn

(07:40):
fans saw their team at what five and seven? Texas. Well,
let's be honest, when when when you look at the
Western Conference, because if you try to go through the East,
it gets really difficult. Exactly, the Celtics are playing so
so well. Outside of the Long Gets, there's nobody but
the Bucks are better than maybe anybody in the league

(08:00):
right now. And oh, by the way, the Sixers are
right there. There are only two games out, Like, those
three teams are so good, and you look at other
teams are gonna make runs here in the second half
in the East. Then you go to the West, you go, okay,
it's the Nuggets and then boy, Memphis is really struggling.
Is Sacramento really that good? Are the Clippers really that good?
You gotta watch out for the Suns because I'm telling you,

(08:20):
once Kadi starts playing, which will be in about a week,
the Sons are gonna start killing people. They're gonna start
winning games like one forty to one fifteen. It's gonna
be whoa look at the Suns will be saying Suns, Nuggets,
Suns Nuggets. But that's really it. Even the Mavericks don't
scary as good as Luca is. There are a couple
of games over five hundred, right, the Kyrie Irving effect
has not been great so far. Yes, they've won couple
of games, and they took care of the Spurs tonight.

(08:42):
They did take that. Jason Smith. Have the Spurs won
a game this year? They'm still they owe and fifty
four is that calendar year. I'm convinced they have not.
They have one more win than the Knicks. There's nobody
out right now. The Nuggets are the only team you
are scared of, and and potentially when Kadi starts playing
the Sun, that's it. Like the West is are you
look at the two Seeds as good as Memphis. As

(09:03):
much as I love Memphis and love John Morant, I
look at them and I go, oh man, they're in
a little bit of trouble here and the same Sacramento.
Are they really that good? Are they going to be
a big playoff threat? Could they be a team that
loses a three six matchup. First. Yeah, even in the AM,
I believing in the Clippers. I smoking cigarettes on the sideline,
So I would say Scion's gonna come back and all's
gonna be well, and pair them with Ingram and look out. Yeah.

(09:27):
I mean the West is really outside of the Nuggets.
It is wide open. There's no team that can sit
there and say, oh, yeah, not us, not us, not us,
not that because even if and when Curry comes back,
Golden State's still gonna have to play road games. And yeah,
Steve Kerr is a realist, and I appreciate his honesty
throughout the season of just how bad his team has

(09:47):
been lating games, for example, and on the road. As
we've talked about, no and you and that's that's the
whole thing about this series. Is that about the season?
Is that once you get to fifty five games, we
know what we know. And do you see a little
bit of changing maybe in the lower seeds? Yeah? Does
a five seed become a four seed because of a

(10:09):
couple of games? Yeah, okay, you see that, But there's
no team. It's not like in the NFL, where a
team can hit the last twenty five games of the
year and say suddenly, oh man, here we go. Now
we're gonna win ten in a row. Like you know,
like the Niners, you know, did it this year in
the NFL. You can do it in the NFL. You
do it in Major League Baseball catch five. But after
fifty five games in the NBA, it kind of stays
the same. Look at the standings, they kind of stay

(10:30):
the same. Could one or two teams jump into the
playing round and one two teams fall out of it? Yeah,
but it's not really, it's not really something that's going
to affect a lot. You kind of you kind of
know what we know after fifty five games. That's why
the regular seasons getting less and less important. So now
in the Western Conference you have four teams right now,
seven through ten that are all either one game over

(10:52):
at five hundred or one game under. That's what it's
gonna meet. That's what you're gonna need to get into
the playoffs, right, That's what the Lakers are gonna need.
It's what the Wars gonna need to stay there. It's
what the Pelicans are gonna need to stay there without
Zion as they've been free falling through the standing. But
if you win that first playoff game, remember a first
playing game. You get the seven seed. That's it. You
don't have to keep playing playing games through the weekend.

(11:13):
You're in as the seven. Yeah, it's it, but you
don't need a lot the end of the regular season.
And this is one of those times. This is one
of those seasons where Okay, the Lakers made that big
move at the deadlines and made those big moves, and
they made the most volume moves that we try to
better get a new set of energy into the team.
So yeah, I could see it working and suddenly we

(11:34):
get to the playoff. If people are excited about the
Lakers tonight, I'm still I'm still a fourteen and nine
is team because the Warriors stink away from home. They stink.
If they get the Lakers beat the Nuggets at home,
then we can talk more about that. But it's still
the Warriors. But still I want to be positive because
I believe they do. Yeah, they can that playoff team.
You're watching this with Steve, I am not a come on,

(11:55):
Lakers are up twenty four. This is crazy. Is one
of those games where you expect Steve Kerr to get
that technical and get thrown out just because he doesn't
have to be there for the end of the game.
We're down by twenty four. Yeah, I want to watch
all I think the last episode of the Last of
Us is coming on, so I'm gonna go get get
a jump on that in the locker roo before you
get on the plane. So up, he's probably thinking, there's
probably some blake. You throw me out, I'm out of

(12:17):
the Game's some good show on TNT I could watch.
And then he gets tossed and goes to Oh, wait
a minute, this game is still on TV. They they
haven't gone away from it. I don't even want to
watch it. And I was at the game. Hey, I
thought we'd go to a more competitive Oh there's no
other game. Oh, Lakers by twenty six. Now it's just
not gonna end. All right, let's go back to the

(12:37):
All Star game. This is gonna wind up like the
Spurs game tonight, where it was seemed close and then
the Spurs seemed to lose by fifty by the end.
Boy take it away from Salt Lake City. So yeah,
watch out and hand another good night for the Lakers. Man,
I got a call, like I see it. It's another
good night he's got to start snapping good nights. But
it's a good they're back to other good night championship back.

(13:07):
What are you laughing at, dude? It's it's been it's
been two games and they've played bet in. This is
like fantasy football commercial as soon as his draft happens.
Championship games. What would you know about one? Dude? The
Knicks are better than the Lakers. Just stop. The Knicks
are better than the Lakers. Okay, here are the next
what eight ten games? It's talked about Dallas that's a win,

(13:29):
Memphis twice and too worked about the free Fall I
can't win game, and Minnesota and they're gonna get Golden
State again in this building. So it's Warriors road game
in a couple of weeks, Toronto, Knicks, New Orleans, Houston's
awful that they're gonna get Dallas again, and Orlando. Those
are all of their games for literally the next month.

(13:49):
Tonight is the twenty third that goes through the next month.
Most of those are, by any fair stretch, winnable game.
Joe kitches at home watching this game, shaking in his
boots right now, you had I'm sure he is, Yes,
I'm sure he's saying, Oh, I may You know he's
gonna say, oh, I may need a B minus game

(14:11):
to beat the Lakers. Now they're a little bit better.
Let me, let me get on that B minus for me.
All the Lakers gotta do is get in and it's
a title run. Oh champion, look at you. I love
how everybody's just bought in. Now, Oh we made the chads, kid,
We're great. Now it's great. Twitter and at about a fresca.
Jason Smith Steve de Sager in for Mike Harmon tonight.

(14:31):
Now we'll love more and ban the way. But coming
up next, Um, I think we now know who's gonna
succeed Tom Brady. Keep it right here, Jameson Smith, Steve
de Sager. This is Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app Fox Sports Radio.

(14:54):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon Harmon off tonight,
Steve to say, you're in for Harmon, Lakers putting the
finishing touches on. What is right now? A one sixteen
ninety five lead over Golden State with just under four
minutes left to go. Everything coming up sevens for the
Lakers tonight, even the injury news on D'Angelo Russell, who

(15:15):
left the game after just nine minutes with a sprained ankle. Yeah,
Lakers doing this without D'Angelo Russell again, things I never
thought i'd say the beginning of the season. H X
rays on his ankle are negative. He is day to day,
but hopefully he will be able to play in the
next game for the Lakers, or if not, the game
after that. But it doesn't really matter because the Lakers,

(15:36):
you're just flat on. Lebron was five of twenty tonight.
It doesn't matter. They're gonna get a rematch at home
with Golden State, as we said soon, So they're gonna
get to play slumping Memphis a couple of times in
the next couple of weeks. Look, it's fun. It's fun.
The Lakers might be good again. It's it's fun because
it's definitely good they are. It was good, okay, okay,

(15:59):
good meaning they can win three out of every six games,
three out of every five mounts the definition of average.
That's good. Now, like I said, fourteen and nine, and
you can go fourteen and nine down the stretch. Hey,
you're right around five hundred. You're feeling pretty good. Then
they would actually finish five hundred if that were the case,

(16:20):
why not literally? Yeah? Well, I mean, which would put
him in the play and that's all you need. Just yeah,
get in something and maybe maybe in the six slot,
because it's not like the Mavericks are going crazy there
in the six loot. They're just a couple of games
over five hundred. You never know how that's gonna go.
Jack Nicholson's gonna start coming back to game. I don't
think you're gonna see that start coming back. Look, Anthony
Davis is actually smiling. It looks like he's having fun

(16:42):
during during this game. You don't see that ever. Look
at that. I mean, he's he's laughing and smiling a lot.
I think he stood up off the bench to see
Beasley play, to see what happened with that possession. I'm sorry, Lebron,
I gotta i gotta stand up to watch Milik Beasley play.
I got this is this is history right here. He's
got seven threes for us tonight. I want to look
up and see how this is going better. Attitude they're

(17:03):
not losing. So again Lakers up big late in the
fourth quarter against the Golden State used last game, last
game in the NBA tonight. We'll have more on this
coming up in a bit, but we now know who's
likely going to be Tom Brady's successor with Tampa Bay

(17:23):
next season. It's yes, it's Tim Tebow coming out. I
can play, I can do it. I'm gonna throw righty.
I've taught myself how to throw right hand in the
last five years. According to Tampa Bay GM Jason Light,
the likely starter for Tampa Bay at quarterback next year
is Trent. According to Jason Light, the likely starter for

(17:47):
the Bucks next name is John. He'll be tough to
sack because you can't see him. The likely quarterback next
year for the Buck is Brad John. The likely quarterback
for the Bucks next year, John Stamos is not John

(18:07):
John Stamos. It's not John Stamos. It is, in fact,
Kyle Trask. Wait what, Yes, the Florida product had a
great senior year through for what forty touchdowns, and the
Tampa Bay drafted him and he sat and learned behind
Tom Brady for the last bit. And now it looks
like he's going to be the starter for Tambay. That's

(18:27):
what Jason Light intimated today, saying that he thinks Kyle
Trask is the best quarterback in the division. Now, when
I saw the story and I saw him, I went,
I went. Then I said, wait a minute, let me
go through the teams here for a second. Atlanta is
Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ritter. Okay, the Panthers are oh wow, okay,

(18:51):
Sam Darneld okay, p J. Walker okay, Matt Corral okay.
The Saints they we're not interested in Derek Carr. They
don't really have any but Taysom Hill right now. So yeah,
I could. I can't say he's wrong. I mean, because
you don't know about Kyle trast What kind of a

(19:11):
time is that there was not even a single five
hundred team and that division last year? No, no, and
all the quarterbacks are worse, So if yeah, I mean,
I don't know that I've ever seen a worse division
quarterback wise. And what the NFC South has right now?
Now you have to have free agency. Gotta go through
free agency and see what happens. And maybe this is
where next Monnehill winds up or something else. That's right,

(19:33):
You'll be singing a different tune when Tannehill comes into
the division. But but here's the thing. For all of
these teams in the NFC South, which is now open
because Brady has now gone for the first time in
three years, they have to be sitting there saying themselves,
if we get the best quarterback, we win this division.
Were in a home game, it's got to be what
it is, right, if we're in the playoffs, Yeah, if
all we gotta do is have the best quarterback, then

(19:54):
then the other four teams and we're gonna win, win
the division playing at home. It's that simple. Because the
quarterback position right now and the NFC South is all
I said, it may be the worst that any team
any division's ever had at any one time. All the
talk we had last year in the off season about,
oh man, the quarterbacks in the AFC West, look how
great they are, well that didn't really come out because
Mahomes was still great, justin Marbert was still really, really

(20:16):
really good, and Wilson was bad and Derek Carr got released.
So now you now this year the offseas, look at
the quarterbacks the NFC South. It's all terrible. It's all.
That's an awful division. You think we get the one
guy that can play pretty well, Hey, we can win
that division. That's how easy it is. In the NFC South,
go get the best quarterback in free agency. It's by
far the worst division. And I know Jacksonville's division wasn't

(20:39):
that great. Tennessee went into the tank, as I recall.
But the quarterbacks in that division, I mean, they're going
to be there over the next couple of years. Compared
to what you just mentioned For this NFC South, that's
just a little embarrassing. On the pro level, we talk
about for many years, there just aren't enough quarterbacks to
go around. This is the division that proves a theory.

(21:01):
It's really it's when when I heard him say that,
I was like, ha ha, hey, wait a minute, wait
a minute, wait, why would you even say that? What
are you proving? Exactly? All he's gotta do is say,
look at the other teams. Oh well, yeah, I gets
I gets you're right about that. Yeah man. Uh And
and here's the other best part of it. This is

(21:22):
why I don't mind it, because no one wants to
succeed Tom Brady. Even though last year was just okay,
still won the division. The guy won a super Bowl,
almost got there a second year in a row. No
one wants to succeed Tom Brady anywhere, So okay, And
if Kyle Trask stinks, then you're taking for a quarterback
in twenty twenty four and you're thinking, hey, you know

(21:42):
Caleb Williams. Heeri, Hey, we maybe not winning any games.
We get Caleb Williams coming. So really it works both places,
right if you want, if you wind up sitting with this,
but but that's where I'm at, you go get the
best quarterback. You win that division. It's it's it's really
that's a best quarterback in the division. That's a huge,
huge statements like well that Man movie, of all the
Marvel movies with the name Quantumnia in the title, that

(22:05):
is the best. Now, look, I ask you, I feel
bad about this because you know I'm a big Marvel guy.
Our house is huge Marvel you all the time. Uh
Am I a bad Marvel fan for wanting to see
Cocaine Bear more than I want to see Aunt Man
in Quantumine. I did. I did look up the great
site Rotten Tomatoes where they collate all the reviews and

(22:28):
they give a score to each movie. Ant Man has
a current score with all the reviews in of forty
nine percent, Cocaine Bear seventy one percent on eight reviews.
Cocaine Bear opened out like a hundred yeah one out
of one review greatest movie ever. Well, it's still down
to like light years ahead of the latest aunt yeah,

(22:49):
because it's based on a true story, and it has
real people, and it's loosely based out of some story.
Got it's got a real bearon, it's Steve there, there
you go, and there's a real baron from the effect
from I didn't even realize who had directed this thing
until I saw her on the news. It's Elizabeth Banks.
And apparently it is really really loosely based in that

(23:11):
there were once drugs in the woods, but that's hyde
from that. Well. I read somewhere and I couldn't tell
how real this was, that she wants like a Cocaine
Bear cinematic universe, like like you know and like you know,
like the m's like she wants to do. I read
that something like is that real or still than what
you watch? Like what's next? An eagle on meth or

(23:32):
something like what what is it? I don't. I don't know.
What's just goes straight down the list. There's an unlimited
number of animals in the forest you can go to.
I mean, are you gonna see like something like like
anabolic a plane crash with like anabolic steroids on it,
and then all these angels get it? Oh my god,
look at that beaver. Oh my god, that beaver's gonna
kill us all the big powerful teule on meth. And

(23:52):
then you just of course create another separate universe and
it's unlimited. Yeah, the Cocaine Bears did with the Star Wars,
it was kind of a finite amount of ideas and directions.
You could go this forget it. Yeah, No, I mean
I'm into it. And I feel, like I said, I
feel bad, but you know, seeing the reviews for aunt Man,

(24:14):
I'm a little bit surprised because ant Man aunt Man
is a fun franchise and it's full of fun and
and and Paul Rudd is great and all the actors
and it are great. He's a chief. But I feel
like I feel like it's you know, the whole, this
whole Marvel Phase five that just happened, right or Phase
four that just clip that finished and now we're getting
Phase five was so uneven now, like, well, what what what?

(24:39):
What should we pay attention to? What doesn't? Some stuff
was really good, some stuff was just what are you
doing when you're throwing it out there seeing what sticks?
Like the first three phases were so meticulously thought out,
and it ends with with Endgame and then Spider Man
Far from Home and like, Okay, I can't wait to
see what's next. And it's okay, there's there's a multiverse,
and here's another movie about the multiverse, and now yeah,

(25:01):
and it's another multiverson do we really need all this?
I mean, I think the answers no. If you're more
you think, okay, we kind of missed that, you don't,
I get you far down be still on a list,
like we can't stop this? So yeah, my my, my
appetite for Marvel right now is like, really you would
see anything they put out? But no, I mean, well,

(25:24):
they're yet man eventually eventually, right, But like a couple
of years ago, I'd have been the first guy to
go see I'd have gone to see Aunt Man last
Friday night after we got done with the show. Well,
eleven o'clock, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go,
and said now it's like I can wait. Now, it's hey,
can we can we go to eleven thirty viewing a
Cocaine Bear on Friday? That I really want to go
see that. One of the aunt Man reviews recently, is

(25:46):
it worth watching this just to keep up with the MCU.
It's like there's there's a narrative that Marvel's trying to
create it that it's like you just have to check
the box. You know. It's like when all the Batman,
you know, pre Christian Bale, all those Batman movies would
come out and you think, okay, it's the latest popcorn movie.
I saw it, and that's it. Okay, check the box.

(26:08):
I saw it. That's what it's feeling like. Yeah. I
mean like like when I like when I went to
see Joker, right, I wasn't the biggest fan of Joker.
It was really depressing, yes, But but Joker was made
because of all the fanboys who said, I want a
Joker origin story, and the movie was made just to
have that, not because because because like I said, the

(26:28):
movie was really depressing, and to win an Oscar for
the depressing music with the one note. Yes, and now
it's and now we have the Joker muser. Now we
have the Joker's backstory. Now we're gonna get another Joker.
It's like it's gonna be another depressing movie. This one
was depressing, but now Joker's got a backstory. So that's
why we didn't think it was going to be. You
know who doesn't have a backstory? Is that Bear? We
don't really know his backstory, Cocaine Bear. When he was

(26:52):
marijuana Bear. We just what about his you know, when
he was in a school as a kid or you know,
was he a good kid, was he a student? What
about his parents? Was it kind of like the Batman story?
Did he grow up alone? There's a lot to dive
into there in the woods. All right, Okay, I think
about that, see I think Marijuana Bear, But then I
think about the movie would just be him sitting back

(27:13):
eating cheetos for like an hour and forty five minutes.
All I did was all And don't miss the trailer
for Oxy the Otter just gobbling up pills in the
water that they fall in. And so be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific, Fox
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show. Steve de Sager in

(27:36):
from Mike Harmon, and our long national nightmare has finally ended.
Aaron Rodgers has come out of the darkness or was
his darkness retreat that he went to in Oregon? Rogers
spent the last few days in a three hundred square
foot room and at a bed and a toilet and

(27:57):
a yoga mat. That's what it had, and Rogers spending
four days there. So now in theory, we will find
out his plans what he wants to do, because you
just spend four days with no lights on, But we
don't know that. Now here's the thing. Yeah, as you've
pointed out a few times in the show tonight, he
did have full ability to turn the lights on in

(28:19):
the Darkness Retreat if he needed to. So I asked,
it's only him in the room, nobody would know. And
it's a clean bad by the way, it's not just
some little fold outcot. Did he turn the lights on
at any point? Yes? Or no? Do you think he
turned the lights on any point in four days? Yeah?
I could see that. You drop something, find the door
into the bathroom. Sure, it's only three hundred feet though

(28:41):
it's only three in square feet. I think you can
find anything you dropped there. You find anything you want,
just so well as we all know your shins can
find anything in the dark. I know he tried to
avoid that though usually, you know, I'd look at the
and Aaron Rodgers is someone who whatever the next but
whatever a big trendy thing is, He's gonna be one

(29:01):
of those celebrities who wants to feel like I'm in
on it. I'm in on the ground floor of this. Hey,
I got some sneak oil I want to sell. He
probably had some investment on the Quantum Manium movie that
just came out, and I hate to break it to
him now that he's out, but you know, I think
it's something like this, and I go, really, what person
doesn't sit in there for ten minutes and go yeah,

(29:23):
I'm done. Yeah, Yeah, I'm done. I'm done. I'm done
ten minutes. It's been nice here in the dark. It's
been okay, you know, as long as what kind of
life he choices have led me to this particular moment.
The only way I am in that room for longer
is if I'm ready for a nap. Or like wait, well, yeah, yeah,
but I don't there's men you turn on the light.

(29:44):
It wasn't darkness to retreat with Big Mac. It was
that was just darkness retreat. And before we go on
on this, we did say earlier in the show, everybody
should unplug. Everybody should look at their lives. You just
you don't need to go out of state in the
dark for four days to do it. No, you could
do it in your own house. But now I'm gonna
hey whatever, However, many thousands of dollars he paid to
go to a place with a dark room in it,

(30:04):
but really, unless I'm there for a nap, and who
knows how much I could sleep for? I mean, like
how I mean, that's what I don't know if you
could put me in a room like that. There's a
bear sleep in the woods. Yeah, cocaine bear done, No
cocaine bear. Yeah, it's not sleeping. But I wonder because
I love sleeping, and I wonder, like, how long if
you put me at queen size bed, right regular bed,
how long would I sleep before I said, you know what,

(30:26):
I just have to get up and did not like
get up, have to go to the bathroom, just like
how long would I sleep and you would just do
the calisthenics to tire you out so you could come
back to sleep. I mean, I don't know. I wouldn't
just lay the back out and maybe I haven't been
sleeping for an hour, I'll go back to sleep. Maybe meanwhile,
I was sleeping before. It's been a day and a half. Yeah,
I'm still kind of tired. They're just gonna go for

(30:48):
a napp here a little bit, just gonna go for Well,
if you don't turn the lights on, maybe you wouldn't know.
That's another thing. They don't have a clock or anything.
They don't have anything lit, right, Yeah, no, nothing lit? No,
you have no apparently. Yeah, the place he was in
for four days was documented fully powered, and the lights
could have been turned on at any time by him

(31:10):
from inside the room. Well maybe like there's an Alexa
where you go ALEXAA time is at the time is
ten fifty three pm. I mean, maybe that's it's wired
that way. You got the lights connected to forget having
to get out of the bed. It's all yours, just
for something for different to do. Yeah, you know, initially

(31:30):
when the story came up, I rolled my eyes and
I go, oh no, no, this is a lot of
fun to talk about and make fun of. This is
this is real, This is really an Initially initially you
said that, well, initially when it was a dark come
off in that way for more than four days for you.
But then then I realized, look at the material we're
getting out of this. If he really wanted to go dark,
he could have just turned his lights off and turned

(31:52):
on S and Y during the Baseball Sea Hey, if
he wanted to go dark, he would have said, I
want to be a jet. That's going dark. You're a jet.
We'll have more on this story, plus details on who
could be the first six hundred million dollar man in sports,
and it's not Aaron Rodgers. That's next right here, Jason
and Steve Fox never go full jet
