and over ten thousand recommended installers tirerac dot com. The
way tire buying should be. Whatever do you shut up?
You already had one. I gotta get mine now you
give me yours tie shirt? Go ahead. I'm just waiting
for the climax. There good Russell Westbrook's first game with

(01:08):
the Clippers. If you like offense, if maybe Mike Harmon,
you bet thee over. You are feeling pretty good right now,
because early in the third quarter, early like like, we've
just passed the ten minute mark. It is eighty nine
to seventy eight. Clippers lead the Kings. Westbrook. So far tonight,
nineteen minutes started for the Clippers, six points, nine assists,

(01:30):
Kawai's got twenty three, Paul George has fifteen. So hey,
Russell Westbrook pushing the pace for the Clippers. Look at
all the points they have, Russell Westbrook unfortunately having to
play defense for the Clippers. Look how many points the
Kings have. So it is kind of a given take.
But so far Clippers on the better end of it. No,
I appreciate that. I mean, just like we're having live
drop Friday night, it's no defense Friday in the NBA

(01:53):
because Phoenix is up ninety two ninety two with almost
eleven minutes left in the fourth quarter of that one.
So nobody's playing defense. That's good that weekend. Yeah, but
that game's gonna wind up like you know, one fifteen,
one two. This game's gonna wind up like one fifty two,
one forty five. You're talking about nine and a half
to go and it's eighty nine eighty one. This is fantastic.

(02:16):
I'm just saying, you remember the days of the Bulls
and the Knicks and insert whatever other team you want
into that mix, you know, making a six man tag
match where we were lucky if one of the teams
ended up with ninety two points, well, this was the
final score. In eighty nine, eighty one was the final
score one of those games. Yeah. Uh, the Clippers are
shooting fifty nine percent from the floor. The Kings are

(02:37):
shooting fifty six percent from the That's a lot touches
like the All Star man O Kings though, Man, aren't
they fun? Just like the All Star Game? Oh? Man,
I'll tell you. Uh yeah, the King's house sitting in
a thirty three and twenty five. We talked about Mike
Brown being the runaway coach of the year in the NBA,
and he should be. And they have done nothing but
continue to validate their early season run because because of

(03:00):
the slumping Grizzlies, they could pull within a game and
a half of second place in the Western Conference with
a win tonight. Suddenly it's back to when the Kings
had Mike Bibbie and Chris Webber. It was Oh, the
Kings and the Lakers in the early two thousands. Look
how good Sacramento is It's like they all the salad
days are here again. Salad days are here again for

(03:21):
the Sacramento Kings. It's fun. No, hey, look, we always
want new teams, different teams to be viable. Whether their
actual championship contenders really doesn't matter, just that it gives
us an extra permutation to the storylines other than all right,
here's these five teams. Are any of them playing today?
All right, then I guess we have to talk about them.

(03:42):
Lakers played one yesterday that still carries over right, So
it's that So that the Kings being in the hunt
and good enough to potentially, you know, cause some problems
for the teams the top the West is good for basketball.
It's good for the NBA. So we'll have more NBA
coming up in a little bit, including my favorite part

(04:03):
of tonight in the NBA without a doubt, and it's
not even Russell Westbrook. Russell Wilson. The big bombshell story
today broke about how before he was traded to the
Denver Broncos, the athletic had this story he wanted both
head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider fired in Seattle.

(04:24):
It didn't happen. And later on a couple of weeks later,
Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos. This story
comes out today again. The Athletic has it. There's no
comment from the Seahawks on it, and Russell Wilson puts
a message on social media saying this is not true.
His agent says it's completely fabricated. He has nothing but
love for John Schneider and Pete Carroll. Now we've attacked

(04:45):
this story from a bunch of different angles tonight, We're
continue to do it more coming up next, and we
got to get into the fact that he had an
office that in Denver. But can we play the office
theme song while we're talking about button. I'm gonna say
again what I've said coming into this season. I see

(05:09):
ah it is live drop Friday. I see great things
ahead for the Broncos in twenty twenty three. All right, now,
even though this is bad, is a bad day for
Russell Wilson, because it's yet another day where you wake up,
get on the internet and go, oh man, Russell Wilson's
getting kicked in the teeth again. Okay, here's another bad
story about Russell Wilson and his behavior. In Seattle and

(05:31):
what happened. But here's why twenty twenty three is going
to be a flip of this year. Both you and
I said, listen, oh, this great bron how's he going
to fit in with the Broncos. What are they gonna
be able to have the offense around him? Is Nathaniel
Hackett going to be the right guy? He's a first
year off, a first year head coach. No, this year
was going to be bad, but next year was gonna
be good because they were going to learn by trial

(05:54):
and error what worked with Russell Wilson this year and
the playmakers and what didn't work right. And it should
have been a better year because Russell Wilson, if he
was a little bit better boy at Broncos team with
that defense would be terrific. But next year was going
to be good because they would learn from the mistakes
of this year. Now, let's even throw out what they're
gonna learn on the field. Okay, this is why next

(06:15):
year is going to get better. Now, Wilson, even though
it's bad for him right now, he's been taken down
a peg because of these stories coming out. He's not
going to be the guy coming in and getting an
office with Sean Payton in Denver. That office is gone.
Peyton even said his people are going to be gone
from the building next year. If they're not players or

(06:35):
not coaches, they're not in the building with us. This
is Sean Payton's show. And Russell Wilson doesn't have a
leg to stand on because he was bad. He played poorly,
and now his potential of him not even being the
Broncos quarterback in a year or so is there. He
knows he is playing for his NFL life. Other than
does he want to get traded? Does he want something

(06:56):
to happen to him? Does he want things to get
really worse? He knows he is on the clock, so
he knows he's got a step up and evolve or
something's going to happen. And Sean Payton is the guy
that you know, He's the guy running the show. He's
in control right forget about on the field for a second,
but off the field, there is now a clear delineation

(07:17):
with this is my show, this is what we need
to do, and I will fix you. Because Sean Payton
has not just fixed but made every quarterback that's ever
played from a New Orleans very good, whether it's for
a short period of time long period of time, whether
it's Drew Brees who's going to the Hall of Fame,
whether it's Jamis Winston for eight weeks, whether it's Taysom
Hill for six weeks, Teddy Bridgewater for six weeks. Everybody

(07:38):
that's played there under him has been really good. So
I have no doubt he can fix Russell Wilson, or
if not, at least keep him close to the Russell
Wilson that we knew a year ago or a year
plus ago, not that Russell Wilson we saw from Denver
this year. So that's why I see really good things
ahead because you have the right guy in charge. Russell
Wilson knows, Okay, I can't come in and be the

(08:00):
dominant power broker that I tried to be anymore. I
need to fit in. I need to figure it out more.
And this guy's gonna tell me how to figure it out.
Because in any kind of power struggle, now, who's gonna win.
Sean Payton's gonna win. Russell Wilson lost his cache with
how poorly he played last year, how poorly offense played
last year. So now they're in a good spot for
Wilson to get back to the quarterback he was, for

(08:20):
Peyton to run the show and watch. It's great things
for the Broncos this year. They will flip that record
this year, pretty easy. Yeah, they'll be better than the Raiders,
all right? Moving that oh wow? Yeah, so though I'll
be though instead of looking. But here's what I want
to do with this, right, what tell me? Tell me

(08:42):
Jock Hayter, what do you got? Yes, I'm out of
guys name hater. I get from the analysis always the
we're gonna lose the young quarterback if you know you
bench him or you have to do this, like with
my response as always, if he's that fragile, he's not
your guy. Right likewise, we've gotta you're you're assuming Russell's

(09:05):
suddenly gonna be like, oh oh okay, Sean. I'll snap
back into line when every story is about how his
ego hit run him muck and he'd taken every inch
that he good in Seattle and take it with a
grain assault of you will that he wanted guys fired
because he wanted it to be all about the show.
That is, mister mister, mister mister unlimited. Did I get enough, mistress,

(09:30):
I might eat this one. But the idea being that
suddenly he's just gonna acquiesce like that. Wait, I had
all of these concessions. I had all of this, and
Sean Payton's gonna come in and tell me to beat it,
and I'm just gonna go uh huh, and I'm gonna
fall in line. I don't think it goes down quite so,
simply sure, Who do I think Russell Wilson's that great

(09:51):
a player either? He's lost power. He saw his lost
power even when it was going on in Seattle. He
was their quarterback, so they had to figure it out
because he was their guy, right and Pete Carroll did
a pretty good job at it. They went to two
Super Bowls and they won one. So that's a pretty
good track record. Sean Payton. Now, Russell Wilson, after the
last year, he doesn't have that cache. Sean Payton's already said,

(10:12):
your people aren't in the building. What do you think
is going to happen now? They hired Sean Payton to
fix what went wrong because le Broncos see what went
on last year was wrong, So here comes the guy
to fix it. Just like in any company, if a
company is run and it's not being run well okay,
and the owner of the company says, boy, the guy
have run in this company, things didn't go well, and

(10:33):
there's a couple of people there that we have to
work with. I'm bringing in somebody new to run my
company who's gonna get to do whatever they want to
in that first year. The new guy coming in because
he's seen how the old ways didn't work, so you
usually think he's gonna get carte blanche to do what
he wants to. Russell Wilson's not gonna win a power
struggle with Sean Payton. He didn't win the power struggle.
He wanted John Sneider and Pete Carroll fired. They said, no,

(10:55):
how about we trade you. It's then So, yeah, maybe
he's just bad at power struggles and he doesn't know
how to win them. So I have no concern about
Sean Payton this year with Russell Wilson getting him to play. Yeah.
All my concern is about the aptitude and the mental uh,
mental fortitude, the intestinal for one Russell Wilson, I have

(11:17):
no faith in the guy. I thought he was a
declining player two years ago. I don't think suddenly Sean
Payton finds some second, second life in him to where
he suddenly he's a world beater. Javante Williams probably not
going to be back right away. That leg injury takes
him into the year. So you got to find another
piece to the run game. The wide receivers. Judy intrigues me,

(11:39):
Sutton did. We'll see what it becomes. Good tight end,
you know. I mean he's a pretty good tight end
when you know begetting for first half of the season.
They got some guys there. They have relativity because most
of the ends are useless. Ends are bad, that is true.
So he becomes top ten by default. I mean Cole
Cobet had two eight weeks last year. That's not that's

(12:02):
not my fault. And you were the only guy who
talked about Cole Commet and he was not good. That's
on you. I didn't like him coming into the year.
He still talked about him so much. On Like, dude,
come on, Cole Commet, come because because we really talked
a lot about the Bears. Really you did, yes, you
brought up You brought up Cole Commet at least once
a week. You were the cal Ripken of bringing up,
Cole Commet, I think you're miss remembering. No, Colt you were.

(12:28):
You were his game was like you were his hype guy.
It's like he was Derek Carr and you were David Carr.
There's no way. Cole Commet. I talked time and time
again how he know he wasn't good? And then he
had two weeks to defy all my analy's just and
he went right back to being the guy Twitter And
how about a fresco Mike had swollen dome. The Jason

(12:51):
Smith's Show with My best Friend Cole Commet Live Show

The Jason Smith Show My Best Friend Mike Harmon Go
Gain Bear Live from the Tire dot Com Studios. Is
this why is this why you are what is this
why you are playing this song. You're just excited about
Cocaine Bear. I'm jack about it. Okay, all right, very good.

(13:36):
I can't wait to see it, girls, and I are
ready for Sunday. It's gonna be good. Yeah. Yeah, Well,
now that it's gonna rain all weekend and and uh,
you know all outdoor activities here in southern California, you're
gonna grind to a halt. Yeah. I got a feeling
the theaters are gonna be packed with with people of
all ages seeing Cocaine Bear. No, it's good man. You
could probably still go see Maverick if you want, even

(13:58):
though it's been streaming for two I'm sure it's good.
Still out there again which is now streaming. It's a
it's available to you as well. But you know that's
uh that that may be something I want. I may
get to the theater and going, oh, I can't wait
see Cocaine Bear. Oh, top Gun Maverick is playing next door.
You know what, I'm gonna go in here instead. Girls,
you watch, I'll see you after a day. You go.

(14:18):
Even though I went to see it twice in the
theater and watch it twice on the plane when I
was going to doing from vacation. I watch you going
out and I want to coming back. What are you
gonna watch coming back? My wife says, I'm gonna watch
Top Gun Maverick. She was again, Yeah, I want to
watch it again. I watch Top Gun Man. You like
what you like? Yeah, exactly made It's half a day

(14:41):
of your life now that you'll never get back having
watched Maverick, but if it makes you feel better. Did
you see what he's gonna do now? Not that I
want to, you know, side sidetrack it into anything that
has to do with James Cordon, but evidently they're gonna
do a lion king skit on Cordon's last show with
It's just Poomba. I did see that. I did see that.

(15:02):
I was I was pretty excited about that. I was
also excited to see that Dizzyland's gonna have a one
act play of Rogers the Musical. That's gonna be I
can't wait to go see that. That's gonna be, like, Hey,
what do you want to do? You want to go
on any rides? No? I want to see Rogers the
Musical because I loved it when it was an Hawkeye.
So now I can't wait to see what this is
gonna be Yeah. I really hope we have one of
those after hour events with one of our radio clusters

(15:25):
and somehow we were is one of the stations in
the radio cluster that somehow we're able to u get
them to do a late night viewing of that. Oh yeah,
the only way I'm gonna see it. We're live from
the premiere of Rogers the Musical. Everybody, congratulations, Maybe we
can get press passes. I don't know. Oh hey, now
you're thinking, buddy, look at that. Now. I'm already working

(15:48):
towards next month and when Wrestle Rania comes down, lay,
we got a lot of work to do, all right, Well,
well you do you know, listen, you have some time.
You need to stream the Bear, Like I keep telling you,
you watch that, and then you can you figure out WrestleMania. Yeah,
the the WrestleMania things far more important. Okay. Oh hey,
by the way, so I finished streaming Blackbird, right, So

(16:10):
that's why I wanted to, and I thought it was
so good all the way up until the last like
twenty minutes. I'm like, this is how it ends. Really,
it just ends like this. I mean, it was so
it was it was True Detective Season one good, like,
oh my, this is the acting in it was tremendous.
Everybody is so good in it. Oh my god, great
Caneer is great. I mean, Taron Edgerton is. Everybody in

(16:33):
it is great. And then the movie kind of ends like,
oh wait, oh that's it. You built towards all that.
Oh it just it ends like that, Oh okay, and
now it's over all right. Then disappointed, really disappointed. Yeah,
you know, I was a little salty that it rains
so horribly today here for the fact that they had
the star ceremony on the Walk of Fame for ray

(16:55):
Leota posthumously, and Taron Edgerton was part of the presentations.
He and Elizabeth Banks. Oh that's pretty cool. I didn't
know that. I could have gone at Sea rocket Man today. Yeah,
you could have. You could have now, or have him
start singing like he's Johnny. Now. This is something from
the NBA tonight, and again Clippers and the Kings in

(17:18):
a game with not a lot of defense, but that's
okay because it's the NBA. And if the NBA wanted defense,
they wouldn't have every bucket be worth two points. Early
in the fourth quarter, fourth quarter has just begune eleven
and a half minutes left to go. Clippers lead the
Kings one seventeen to one thirteen. It's one seventeen win.
Every team has scored at least thirty four points in

(17:40):
all three of the quarters. That's where we're at, right.
Good Russell Westbrook's debut has brought two hundred and thirty
points to the first three quarters of this game. And
Westbrooks like Santa claus Is, he's outing everybody, right, He's
helping the Clippers. He's got eight points and ten assists.
The fact that he's not a good defensive player is
helping the Kings do one hundred and thirteen points and
shooting sixty sent from the floor. So yeah, look, everybody wins,

(18:02):
is it is? It's like Christmas, everybody wins. No, it's good.
But like Clipper fans are excited, Laker fans are excited.
It's good to have a little bit of fervor around
the basketball squads. Obviously a lot of eyes that spring
training with all the rules and a new look Dodgers squad,
right won all those games. Now the turners are gone
and Kenley's gone, and all of those things you know,

(18:25):
like it's just a different face. Yeah, oh Toanni will
be coming soon. Yeah, maybe shows up. And I know
Kenley had been gone, but it's just the idea of
with all these rules, I would have loved to see
an enforced on him. Like there's just so many different
things permutations to this and new faces that are gonna
have to find their way in right. A lot of

(18:47):
talk of hey Jason, Heyward, what is he? Does he matter?
Will he matter? Etc. So I think it's kind of
fun that, you know, all the sports heating up here
in LA as one of the two football teams get
ready to become back ten teams. So it's all good.
And I want to say congratulate because I don't say
this often enough, but I can only do it when
your teams win. Congratulations to the Bulls breaking that six

(19:09):
game losing streak. They beat the Nets by forty four
one thirty one to eighty seven. That's right. What was
the final percentage? I looked at it early fourth quarter.
The Nets were shooting under thirty percent for the game. Yeah, no,
they got hot late because I think the Bulls only
played with three up seven percent for the game. But

(19:32):
they won by forty four. They were up by almost
fifty a couple of times in that game. And I
want to say thank you because this but with the
virtue of your win there over the nets, and the
Knicks win tonight, they gain another game on the nets,
and now that Knicks are just two games out of fifth,
here come the Knicks man eventually. But for the Bulls,

(19:56):
a huge ovation for Pat Bev. He plays twenty two minutes,
eight points, five boards, four assists from Chicago and all
that excitement that certainly was flowing from there. And get this.
The pregame spread was Bulls minus one and a half.
M okay, they halftime spread minus twenty four and a
half live betting, Oh okay, I've wonderful take the Bulls.

(20:22):
I'll take them now. My favorite part of the NBA tonight, though,
to be quite honest and to be very selfish, but
I love this. The Knicks one again. They've won four
in a row. They're the fourth hottest team in the NBA.
I mean, come on, they win again and they're in
sixth place in the East now and they beat the Wizards,
And I love this win tonight. I love winning. Not
that Julius Randold got forty six points. But the fact

(20:45):
that they beat the Wizards in Porzingis and every time
Porzingis plays against the Knicks, and maybe probably other times
during his career, He's got to go, boy, I screwed
up so bad. How can I get past this? Because
poor Zingis was the face of the Knicks. You are
the face of the team in the number one market

(21:06):
in the country, and you were one of the faces
of the NBA. I mean, he wasn't one of the
top two or three most popular players, but was he
one of the top ten most popular players in the NBA? Yeah,
the lizard. Look at this guy. He runs the floor
like Dirk and he hits those threes, Oh my goodness.
And he was one of the face of the NBA.
But then for some reason, he and his brother got
all huffy. We don't like the direction of the team.

(21:28):
We don't like it all. And you know, who knows
what it was pushing this. Maybe you know, he really
wanted out, or his brother wanted to be really important,
so he said, well, I should, we should affect change,
and you should leave. But then he goes to Dallas
thinking things they're gonna be great, and it wasn't and
it didn't work. He didn't get along with Luca, and
now he shipped off and he is playing out the
string in Washington. He's twenty seven years old and he's

(21:50):
just a guy. He had everything, but for some reason, no, no, no,
what was was given to me in New York? Because
if he was playing anywhere else, people wouldn't give a
crap about poor Zings. But he's in New York. Dude,
you have everything. You had the Knicks, you had the league,
you had it all. The Knicks were kind of on
the way up after a long time being down. You
were gonna be the star. People were gonna come to

(22:11):
New York and play with you. No, no, no, I
don't want that. For some reason, I want out. And
now every time he plays the Knicks, he has to say, boy,
I really screwed up. Not the fact that the Knicks
are on the way up now and they have pretty
good leadership and they have a good core group of players,
but just the fact that I really could have had
it in Yre. Maybe I could have been the guy
to bring the Knicks back. And I'm Julius Randallin, I'm
making all star teams and all those kinds of crazy

(22:32):
ass stuff. I blew it. He blew it because for
whatever reason, what he had with the Knicks wasn't good enough.
So yeah, go ahead, go find your destiny someplace else. Now.
Oh now, it's just a whole bunch of regret because
you know, if he had to do it over again,
he would even he much have said, so, hey, I
think with the way things went down with the Knicks,
I don't know. Yeah, no, no, I think every day
he goes why didn't I stay in New York? He

(22:54):
wakes up every day and says, why didn't I do it?
I blew it. I was one of the big time
stars in the league and now I'm just a guy. Yeah,
And I think when when you look at with poor Zingiz,
I don't know that he'd still be there, right because
the road didn't get any easier and eventually they were
going to blow it all up and he was probably
going to find his way out the door. Just he
hastened things and wasn't a very good look on the

(23:17):
way out. I think was the bigger issue of it,
right in that once the family becomes part of the narrative,
like it's one thing if you're unhappy, and it's reported
that you're having some issues some misgivings of how they're
handling roster management or free agent you know, just the
pursuit of free agents, whatever the processes. Right, we talked

(23:39):
about it all the time. We just did it with
the interviewing process for the NFL in terms of hiring
that if you don't think your team's getting it done,
and go all the way back to the time where
all right, they're gonna make all these big moves that
what was their big move? Well, Carmelo came back on
this bloated contract, right, and remember all those rumors when
when all those as we're doing their free agency tours

(24:02):
and they're on the marquees and they were doing all
those from faux introductions like they were in blue chips,
and we got Carmelo back, and is it, Oh that's
gonna help. Great. So if but if it's all about
what you're saying, But as soon as your family member brother, mother, father, uncle,

(24:25):
and grandma, whoever the hell it is, a guy from
around the corner, as soon as that's the narrative. Now,
now it's a problem because it's not just what you think.
Now you got people that are putting this stuff in
your head and it becomes an echo chamber and it's
hard to get someone out of that way of thinking,
at least historically, that's what we've seen. So for prezingis

(24:47):
it might have been irreparable as it was, and you
might have found your way out. Sure, there's gonna be
moments of man, I could be still commanding the garden. Right,
once upon a time it was a big deal for
something other than concerts, and damn it, maybe it can
be again. But uh and and you would have liked
to have been that guy. But now you're in a

(25:07):
position to coming back as a visitor, and you your
job is to now try to shut it up. Right,
Like Pat Bev's saying he's going to keep the Lakers
out of the playoffs, same thing here from porzingis you
gotta go in and put your best effort forward and
your minutes played and try to rally your team as
best you can to come up with a way in. Unfortunately,

(25:27):
you're at the point in your career that you're a
journeyman and those you're twenty seven and you're a journeyman.
No but that, but that's you're a journeyman. You could
have been it, you could have been everything. You could
have had it all, you could have had everything, and
said no, no, no, I had it all. I couldn't
handle the success. And it was just weird because once
it was always poor Zingis and his brother, right, that

(25:50):
was who was running things. And I wonder how much
did his brother come in and and say I want
to affect things, and I want to I want to
suddenly be a player. And so I'm gonna push this
situation and say, hey, they're not taking care of you
here because you heard many stories out of the Knicks
that his brother was difficult to deal with, and suddenly
the two of them they couldn't find common ground on anything,

(26:10):
meaning the Knicks and team Porzingis. So I wonder how
much it was that, how much or how much of
it could have been just Porzingis going, yeah, I agree, man,
I don't want to be here. I don't want to.
I want to get out. I want to I want
to get out. But it's you have to realize that, Okay,
you want out of a situation you're never gonna find again. Right,
this is this is a unicorn, Right, this is a
unicorn you're the unicorn. This is a unicorn situation. You know,

(26:31):
how many people would would NBA stars, would give everything
to be a young number one, to be the face
of the Knicks and one of the ten faces of
the NBA, and you had it and said, yeah, no,
I don't want that. I really that's that's one of
those things that's so sad because it's something that should
have been an easy decision going forward, and Porzingis should

(26:52):
have had his chance because I'm with you, maybe it
doesn't work, and maybe he does wind up being someplace else,
but he had a couple more years of being a
big star, and maybe his next stop is different, it
works out different form, you know, who knows. But why
would you give that up? You gave that all up.
You gave up the fact that here I am a
star the number one market in the in the in
the league, and the league is promoting me. And how

(27:13):
many players said, I wish leagu would promote me like that.
I wish they would have that. I wish I could
do that, and you gave it away. I mean, really,
it's it's it's it's like a cautionary tale. Here's here's
how to give away your NBA career and turn into
just being a guy. Yeah, I think I'll answer it
best as oftentimes I do, to the world of pop culture,
normally a television or movie reference. Today we'll go to
the world of song from the band Cinderella quote. I

(27:37):
can't tell you, baby, what went wrong. You gotta say it.
I can't tell you, baby, what went wrong. I didn't
want to do a bad impression. That's a pretty good
tim Keefer. That sounds it didn't sound pained enough. Your
throat stuff sounds like it was. You know, the cat
hadn't quite dragged the clause across just yet. But you

(27:58):
don't know what you got till it's gone right. You
may have life pretty good and everybody out there. You
may have had a job, you like, a relationship that
years later you think, if I only done this, this
would have been better, right, the old country music line,
it's not what I did, it's what I didn't do.
Little things that maybe if you just picked up the pace,
maybe you've picked up around the house, things would have
been different. At a job. Maybe if you'd been a

(28:20):
little more timely with your quarterly reports and your TPS reports,
you wouldn't have been out on your ass all of
those things, but you don't know until it's gone. Likewise,
here he had it pretty good, and he was in
the big media market, and everybody kissed his ass, and
then everybody stopped puckering, telling you, man, they'll write books

(28:41):
on it. Hey, how do you? Hey? I want to
make sure I'm a star in the NBA. All right,
you see Porzingis, Yeah, do the opposite. It's like the
Homer Simpson whatever Bart says, do opposite. Okay, that's what
Porzingis has to do. Well, the great Kass Stanza. Right,
I'm bald, I'm unemployed, I live with my parents. Hi,
I'm Veronica. Be sure to catch live editions of The

(29:03):
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio
app Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My
best friend Mike Harman. This time it counts tie shirts
in an eighties metal no moment right now, man, very
nice boom. Maybe you saw the story earlier today. Russell Wilson,

(29:29):
before he was traded to the Broncos, demanded that his
GM and head coach in Seattle, John Schneider and Pete
Carroll be fired. Yeah, it didn't happen. Russell Wilson got
traded to the Bronchos part of the big athletic story
on it. Today, Seattle's didn't have a comment on it.
Russell Wilson said, it's not true, as agent says, it's fabricated.

(29:50):
But for a few minutes, let's focus on the other
part of the story, because that's honestly the best part
is that the other part of this was that. Okay,
So here's what I went on in Seattle. When he
got traded to Denver. He had an office on the
second floor of the building. All the players in the
locker room was on the first floor, and Russell Wilson
had an office on the second floor. And his office

(30:13):
was filled with a big white board that had plays
drawn up on it. It was filled with inspirational sayings
all over the office, and he had an open door
policy wanting teammates to come talk to him if they
had ideas for plays or things that might help the office.
You can see this office, okay. You can see all
the big quotes that he has written up there by
by Maya Angelou or you know, or or Obama. You

(30:38):
can't do it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's what Schwarzenegger said,
you know, being tough. Here's what you know. Here's here's
a quote from Van dam from the nineteen nineties. You
know something crazy, right, you can see you can see him,
you know, have doesn't that speak? Doesn't that just that
go along with what we've always heard about him? And
believe this one doesn't really surprise me that much. Dude,

(31:01):
he's so awkward and that's and that's the issue with
him is that you know, in almost famous, they have
that that moment where that you know, there's one guy
in the T shirt. You know, Russell Hammond's on the
T shirt. Everybody at focus on the background. What do
I do? I'm just one of the out of focus
guys in the background, right, and and Jason Lee tells him,
you don't get it. The T shirt is everything, like

(31:22):
it stands for what's going on with the band. You're
getting all the credit. None of us get any any
credit at all. It's not fair, Like the office story
is everything. With Russell Wilson, all you hear is how
it's hard for him to fit in the place. You know,
his teammates don't like him. What's going on? You know?
There was always up different factions of Russell Wilson's supporters
and people who didn't like Russell Wilson. You have an office, man,

(31:45):
I mean, come on, dude, you had an office and
the Broncos coaching staff because it was new and you
had a first time head coach. Wasn't anybody to put
their foot down and say, dude, you don't have an
office and your people aren't in the building. Because there's
people were all all over the place too, Sean Payton.
The first thing he was asked, Yeah, that's not gonna happen.
If you're not a coach, you're not a player, You're
not in the building. Like you can see, the office

(32:08):
is everything. This is why Russell Wilson continues to fight
the image that he has that people say, oh, is
he real? Is he a phony? Is he a leader?
He's just awkward. He has no idea how to relate
and how to lead and how to do things that
are going to get his teammates to want to follow
him and to lead them to victory. He's not that guy.
The office is everything. Yeah. I think the office also,

(32:33):
you know, not just because we think of him, not
quite Michael Scott, probably a little more PC and protective
him brand than than that. But but the idea of
the motivational posters whatever. Remember, the office is also a
thing that gives you a little bit of power. Right,
If you're gonna have someone in for a meeting, let's
do it in my office, not in a neutral conference room,

(32:55):
not in a kiosk, not in a little cluster cub. Right,
it's say, hey, come on into my office, like crap,
and you start going from there, right, And so here
you know, you've got home turfs. So you are the quarterbacks,
so in the pecking or you would have been a
little bit higher, but now there's an extra effort to

(33:16):
come to you where I can understand where maybe there's
a little bit of friction. But I also applaud him
for just being who he is. Right, we watched him.
I don't know that you got to see it necessarily
the same. But I was having a conversation with our
buddy kelvin Washington on the floor when the Super Bowl
was here in Los Angeles, were at the Convention Center,
and in between you and I taping things. You know,

(33:38):
you're saying a low grabbing a bottle of water or whatever,
more coffee because I needed the ivy drip going. And
we're standing there talking. All of a sudden, this group
of people that had to be twenty strong comes walking by.
I'm like, it's like an entourage for a heavyweight fight
and it's Russell Wilson at the back of it. I'm like, well,
this is really everybody else. I mean, from Barry Sanders

(33:59):
to Jerry Rice. Got like one or two people with him,
someone who's there as the official photographer for their PR
and then an agent or a PR person that has
a clipboard with a bunch of times and where they
need to be. This guy's walking in. It's like went
down the aisle by a marching band, did Russell. I'm like,

(34:19):
when we looked at each other and went what up?
And you know, so we kind of went from there.
So that's already been built in. But whenever you have
the opportunity to ask for stuff, hell, just keep putting
it on. It's like a contract writer. There will be
no green M and m's in my giant five pound bowl.
We'll have more on this huge story coming. I'm next

(34:40):
including another guy who might benefit from the pitfalls of
Russell Wilson, and his name happens to be Aaron Rodgers.
Why he could stay in Green Bay. That's coming up
next Fox
