many NFL personalities are making big news in the combine.
Robert Sali saying all the wrong things about Derek car
But that's okay. It happens. It happens. I've never seen
him play. It happens. I mean, yeah, we played playing him,

(01:07):
playing him that sound bite from the Zoom call a
few minutes ago. I'm like, what is he talking about? Derek?
You know, we gotta get out we gotta we gotta
tell me you haven't seen Derek Carr without telling me
the one thing you could get behind And and I
say this with all respect. Right, twenty twenty one was

(01:28):
a weird year for the Raiders, the whole John Gruden incident.
And he did a good job of keeping that team together.
I think we can all agree with and beach right.
I mean, did a great job. But I gotta give
car some credit, not all of it, but some of it,
so that's good, But the rest of it. And it
was clear he hadn't watched him play, nor did he

(01:49):
have any idea about the team that that they were
around him. No, certainly this year, just like Mike McCarthy
two coaches, I get it. It's like you know, you
get the the information director to submit your top twenty
five when you're in college because you didn't watch anybody.
It's the same thing here. I'm gonna talk about these
guys teams. Did you watch himpe the Raiders? The Raiders

(02:11):
asked him to do way too much. They had the
leading rusher in the editor. He had to turn the
hand the ball to Josh Jacobs, and he had Davan
j Adams, who's this side of the most efficient vacuum
cleaner you can find on the market when the ball's
in raiding. I don't know if you guys know, but
they went to Fresno State together. No one's talked about
that rod that you really threw that it's gonna get

(02:34):
him to getting to go to the football knowledge is
off the charts. It is. I didn't even know what
to do. And now that Keen Allen's coming back to
the Chargers, I mean, no matter what, right like no
matter coming back, no matter what. There it is. But
how about this for Aaron Rodgers. I have a new
emotion about Aaron Rodgers after yesterday, and it's weird, and

(02:56):
I want you to find We're gonna play his sound
bite from estricause. I listen to a lot of the
podcasts that he did yesterday, the the Aubrey Plausa podcast,
and um, I want to do you listen to the
big soundby is when he talks about his decision is
coming soon and what he's gonna do with his life
after coming out of the darkness, because there's a new one,
because it ate at me yesterday with this thinking about this,
just listen to it. Listen to Aaron Rodgers, and I'm

(03:18):
gonna give you a new emotion to have about Rogers.
Go ahead. There's a finality to the decision, and I
don't make it lightly. I don't want to drag anybody around. Look,
I'm answering questions about it because I get asked about it.
I'm talking about it because it's important to me. If
you don't like it and you think it's drama, I
think I'm being a diva or whatever, and just tune

(03:39):
it out, it's fine. But this is my life. It's
important to me, and I'll make a decision soon enough,
and then we'll go down that road and be really
excited about it. Sounds excited, doesn't he. By the way,
it's the Aubrey Marcus podcastcast. No, no no, No, that's where

(03:59):
she's stares at you, does something like you're a witch?
Do you talk at all on this podcast? No, this
is just you. I just stare at you. Uh. The
hear him comfortable, and then you just start talking, you know,
you listen to him talking, and then we're gonna play
the sound bite back again because you're gonn understand. The
emotion coming out is that there's Look, everybody has different

(04:20):
emotions when they hear Aaron Rodgers. Some people have had
it with him. I've had it with his act. I've
had it with this some some fans listen to Aaron
Rodgers talking, Go dude, just make a decision. Wise, it's
so difficult. You took the money. Some people don't like
Aaron Rodgers. I like Aaron Rodgers. I have a new
emotion about him. How I felt after listening to to
the you know, to the good part of this podcast,

(04:42):
and that is I feel pity for the guy because
he doesn't sound happy. Listen to him talk, Listen to
some of the things he said there about how if
you don't like it, it's my life and this is
kind of what I have to do. And I'll make
a decision and I'll be ecstatic about it. I mean,
listen to reason you got off social media and I'll

(05:03):
be and I'll be extremely, extremely happy about it. I
feel pity for I feel bad for the guy after
hearing him talk, because, yes, for someone who has kept
our attention with ridiculous drama with the packers for the
last couple of years. You know, yes, have I you know,
rolled my eyes a lot about what he says, yes.
Do I pay attention to a lot of things. He says,

(05:24):
I think, oh my god, it's so serious notes stuff
we have fun with now. But I listened to him
talk yesterday about it, and it's a different emotion. And
I feel bad for the guy because I feel because
I feel bad that that I listened to him talk
and I hear a guy that's like, yeah, I basically
I'm not gonna be able to go back to my
old team and it's the Jets or nobody, And I

(05:46):
don't gotta understand. I gotta make a decision if I
want to go blake for the Jets or if I
want to end my NFL career that I've thought I
was going to continue to go on with for a
long time. He just sounds sad. He sounds sad in
talking about this, and yes, you want to make fun
of me and say that, okay, but this is my life,
and my life is it's falling apart now. And I

(06:08):
don't know because I can't. I can't believe he came
out of his darkness retreat and there was any message
other than the packers saying we are ready to move
on from you. You want to keep playing, let us know,
we'll figure it out. If not, yeah, you're gonna be
a big mark against our record books for a couple
of years. You want, but well we're going to figure
that out. We are ready to move on. You want
to keep playing, let's figure out a place to move

(06:28):
you too. So now suddenly you don't have the power
that you thought you had. And I get that. I'm
feeling pity and feeling sad for a guy that has
used his pulpit that he has had to push uh,
you know, agendas of what he believes, what he thinks about,
what he wants the Packers to do, and now he
feels about coaches and all these different things. But in
the end, I feel, boy, the guy that was so

(06:48):
powerful now he just seems diminished, right, Like he's come
out of this this this retreat, this darkness retreat. Not
like Aaron Rodgers. He's come out as Aaron Rodgers. But
I can think about where you were, where you were
at with him after the season ended. What's he going
to do? He's still really good? Boys? He gonna stay
is he not? How is this going to work out?
And now is the last few weeks had gone by

(07:09):
and I don't know that it was specifically the Darkness Retreat,
but you had a lot of teams that I'm sure
have checked out on him after that, and really, you
can't tell us what's going on. You can't make a decision.
We're gonna have to wait till you go through this
crazy ass thing. But now he's come out of he's
come out of that situation. Is I don't nearly have
the power and influence that I thought I had, And
if I want to continue my NFL career, I'm going

(07:32):
to be fortunate to do this. I'm lucky that there's
a couple of teams that really want to go all
out to get me because they're really desperate, Like the Jets.
Do I really want to go play there? Do I
want to stop? Suddenly? I don't have the choices. I'm
not the influencer that I once was. And for whatever
it is, Aaron Rodgers went from where he was at
the end of the season and now he's diminished. And

(07:53):
I feel sad about that. I feel sad that he
feels sad. And I don't know if I'm just a
lunatic or just sappy, but I feel sad for this
and why do I feel this way about him? Because
I've been hearing the last twenty I've been hearing that
quote in my head the entire time. I'm going But
this is why you think I'm a diva. But this
is my life, and I'll make a decision and I'm
going to be really happy about it. How do you

(08:13):
say a happy decision when you say it like that,
it's a decision I'm going to be really happy about.
How do you say that? I feel bad for him,
and I don't know why. It's it's like a Jedi
mind trick that he has it. I feel bad for him,
but I do Maybe he's just in that mellow space
so you don't have the you know, highs or lows,
and it's just that monotone. Here's where I'm gonna be
with you. And yeah, I'm excited, but I don't sound

(08:36):
it because now you're going to talk about this even
more like I'm at peace and you have to be
with me like well, listening to him McConaughey's speech, occasionally
he gets up here, but for the most part, he's
just going straight along. Now the song that kept going
and resonating in my mind thinking about this quote, and
certainly as we've played it back here. Off the fantastic

(08:58):
album The Last Djy, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, there
was a song called Money Becomes King and it goes
through the rocker and you know the kids that do
anything they can to see him play, and they're up
in the rafters, right, the three hundred levels kind of thing,
and then talking about the change when money comes in
and how it changes, the perception changes, and some of

(09:19):
how the artist is now well he's not himself either,
and that's kind of Aaron Rodgers here. And the music
that had freed us became a tired routine. I saw
his face and close up trying to give it all
he had, and sometimes his eyes betrayed him. You could
see that he was sad. But I tried to rock

(09:40):
on with him, and I slowly became bored. And that's
kind of where we're at with Aaron Rodgers in this
continue like let's let's just see what happens and I
don't need to hear from anymore. He's now done the
podcast with Aubrey Marcus. You're really gonna play Aubrey plot.
You're really gonna say Aubrey plot just the calm app.

(10:03):
There's a calm app just to be claim. I mean,
that's Lebron James thing, isn't it you comap because he's
got a piece of that. Really, you know, like the
rain sounds and sounds and make you sleep the colmap
like that commercial line TV that says fifteen seconds of
doing nothing, why do you when you're just watching the rain.
It's the same idea. But yeah, they've monetized it in
an app. How do we know Aaron Rodgers wasn't doing

(10:25):
like Vloody Divac was for that ways app. How do
we know he wasn't cutting things for the comm app
there Vloody will keep you company. I see the whole.
This is the thing. I feel like I could do
a Dartner Street by turning the lights off. I feel
like I could do a calm map by just shutting
everything off and turning the lights off and going to sleep.
And that's seventy bucks a year. Good stop it for

(10:48):
your life. I could do that. I could speak in
that tone. I could be like Homer Sipson, I can
help you sleep, Marge. You know chanty sound the calm app.
I would just be chase your kids they comb up
would be like what's her name from get Out? Just
stirring the spoon and the team. That's all I'm doing.

(11:11):
What is the best thing in the movie. I'll just
stirring the tea. No, I'm not doing anything. I'm just
during my tea. You had to comb up in cocaine Bear,
I wouldn't be a good movie. Then, would you can
use a little you got to use a little spoon
for cocaine? Would you? Would you very nice? We would
be sleepy cocaine bar. Did you go see a movie
called sleepy Bear? Unless it was a kid Yogi bear?

(11:34):
Even kids would go to a movie called Sleepy Bear. Oh,
I want to go see a movie called sleepy Bear? Well,
I mean if you use it to lure people in
and he he's lulling you to sleep and then he
attacks you. Time to take a napoo? Hey, I will
say this the best kids game ever played in my life.
You're ready for this? The best game? Oh No. I

(11:56):
used to babysit my cousin Eric right in Jacksonville when
I was like in my early twenties, and you know
these days he now hes does pretty well. He does
some kind of business in Atlanta. He's a huge Jaguars fan.
I called him at from the Jaguars game. He was
he was lit. He would ask him about rats o. Man,
he was lit. So uh so we used to babysit him.

(12:17):
He was like lit. He was like three, he was
like three, three and a half years old, and I
would baby sit him. And a lot of times, like
when when I would baby sit him, I would be
up late the night before. But you know, kids get
up early, doesn't matter. So this is when I don't.
I don't know, like the thing about going to bed
early and everything. So like I'd go to bed at like,
you know, two to three in the morning. He gets
up at seven, so we're up having breakfast and like

(12:38):
seven thirty, I'm ready to crash, right, So I would
lay on the couch. He wants to play and do
all this stuff, and I feel bad, but I'm like, dude,
I'm tired. Man, I just went to bed. I'm twenty
two years old. I went to bed at two thirty
in the morning. So he would say, let's play a game.
And and this is how smart the kid was, because
after a few minutes he was let's play a game.
I go what game do you want to play? He goes, okay,
he said. He would say, I'm a saber Tooth Tiger

(13:01):
and I said, okay, goes and you're the Sleepy t Rex.
And I said, oh, I like this game. What do
I do is you're sleepy on the couch while I
try to get stuff around you. I go, that's a
great game. Let's play it right now. And we played
saber Tooth and Sleepy t Rex. That was like our thing,
like in the morning. All right, let's play. Hey, do
you want to eat breakfast first? You want to play
saber Tooth the Sleepy t Rex. Now, let's that breakfast first,

(13:23):
all right, saber Tooth the Sleepy t Rex. And we
played that game. And I have no idea how that
game went, because you know, once I was a Sleepy
t Rex, I was out. But we played that game
for a while. It's pretty cool. Well, the proper movie
is to play the game first, to say, hey, you know,
we'll you'll get your nap in and then you'll have
plenty of energy to make breakfast, because otherwise you might
accidentally wake yourself up. Man, I'm tired, I gotta get

(13:45):
through this, and you might accidentally grab you know, a
handful of chocolate chips while making those pancakes or waffles
and suddenly you're wide awake. But man, you dude, I
just feel bad. I feel bad for Aaron Rodgers. I
feel like he's diminished, and I feel sad for him
because I feel like he said, because he's not the
same Aaron Rodgers. He's I got to make a decision

(14:05):
and it's not gonna be something where I thought it
would have all the options open to me. And I'm
I'm really sad about that. I see what you're doing here.
But he's not gonna go to the Jets. I know
exactly what you're You're sad. You're not cheering yourself up
by going to the Jets. You're saying, oh man, it's
gonna be worse. I'd rather just That's what I mean.
If you tell Aaron Rodgers it's the Jets or nobody,

(14:27):
he's gonna pick nobody, because I'm not gonna pick the Jets.
There was no use in pretending. No magic left to hear.
All the music gave me was a craving for life.

cooked without Lebron James John Morant gonna be able to
play the rest of the year. Keep it right here,
Jason and Mike Fox. Be sure to catch live editions

you play the on camera drop on camera. Well, the
Clippers are about to go to oh and three in
the Russell Westbrook Era. They trail the Warriors one oh

(15:32):
two seventy eight with five minutes ago in the fourth quarter,
Westbrook with just eight points. Tonight, tons of big NBA
news to get to. Joining us now on the Hotline
Insider Writer FRIENDBA dot com, Mark Medini, you can follow
him on Twitter at Mark g Underscore Medina. That's at
Mark g Underscore Medina. So Mark, maybe this was all

(15:53):
Russell Westbrook's followed the Lakers and now it's gone to
the Clippers. Look what's happening. I know, you know what's
amazing with the Lakers them making this trade deadline move
with h Russell Westbrook not only today propel themselves hiring
to the standings, they basically threw a grenade at the Clippers.
It's astounding that the Clippers fell for those It's it's

(16:16):
almost like Home Alone two when Harry and marr fell
for the same tracks. It's unbelievable. Yeah, but here's the
They know, Harry and Marv they were mad at the kid.
They wanted revenge. So I could see where their decision
making was a little bit blurred, like they were mad
at himself for the first movie. Yeah, that's that's fair.
And but what is fascinating though, is that the Clippers,
for the longest time, or not the longest time, but

(16:39):
leaning into the trade deadline, they were very bullish that, look,
we're not going to upset the apple cart. We want continuity,
we want to play some of our young guys in
the rotation like Terrence Mann, and we made these moves
with game Bow and Thailand, Eric Gordon, and we know
Russ isn't good on defense and he's going to command
a lot of minutes. And then all of a sudden,

(17:00):
the goalpost started movie once Kawhi Leonard and Paul George talked.
So it's like, okay, hey, we'll entertain the idea as
long as it's a limited role. But fast forward now
like he's starting and finishing games and it's the same
nonsense that happened with the Lakers. The results in els,
and I think it's very telling that not only is
a stat line a Russell Westbrook type stat line three

(17:21):
it's two from the field, oh five, you know, from
three four turnovers, but the Warriors defense on him was
playing no defense. Draymond was just giving them open shots.
It's just unbelievable. So to that end, with Golden State,
all of a sudden, up at the five seed, steps
slated to comeback Sunday. I know we've talked about their

(17:43):
depth a bunch over the course of our visits. Mark,
Are they a team that could be dangerous though? If healthy? Yeah,
I mean they could be dangerous for the same reasons
they were dangerous last year. They still have Steph Curry
and Clay Thompson, Draymond Green, and they have championship equity.
And you know, I caught up with Jordan Poole and
they're in town in LA last week and he was,
you know, counting the company line that you know, even

(18:05):
throughout all the ups and downs, I have faith that
we can turn this around because of the experience. And
on one hand, you don't want to discount that, But
on the other hand, I think there is a full's
errand to think of this year was just be the
equivalent of last year or other years, because the reality is,
unlike the dynasty championship type seasons, the Warriors have been

(18:27):
mediocre on defense, They struggled winning on the road, and
they weren't able to really see much success with some
of their young guys after parting ways with some of
their veterans during the offseason. And so I did wonder, okay,
or they're going to get their act together. Now they
clearly are on the up and up, and I think

(18:47):
that they'll solidify themselves as a playoff team. But you know,
the ultimate question of can they be in the contention mix?
That might be a heavy ask only because you know,
I like Jonathan Cominga. He showed some flashes tonight, but
he's also shown flashes of bloopers, right, Like, how much
can you trust on the young guys? And you know,

(19:09):
even the all star type of players, they've either been
unavailable like in Andrew Wiggins or inconsistent like a Clay Thompson.
But you know what, they are training the right direction,
plays playing well. Steph's about to come back, and so yeah,
you always discount the Warriors at your own peril. Yeah,
but here's the thing, though, I don't mean to pour
cold water on it, but did the NBA change the

(19:32):
rules or they could play every game at home? Because
if they've done that, I believe in that, But they're
gonna have to play games on the road and market.
They're gonna have to do that at some point in
the playoffs. Yeah, and you know, to the other point,
I was saying, they also have to be a good
defensive team, and so far they haven't been that way consistently.
I think Draymond, you know, I would say surprisingly has
played really well this season. I thought that maybe he

(19:53):
would have taken a dip because of just everything surrounding
the training camp paunch with Jordan Poole. But um, I
think that if anything, maybe that's lit a fire under him,
but it's also undermined him, you know, as a self
inflicted wound, because he doesn't have the same kind of
capital and leadership capability to call guys out on defense.

(20:14):
And so, yeah, I'm with you, like they're obviously training
the right direction. You don't never want to discount them.
But again, even through the ups and downs of even
last season, they're always a really good defensive team. They
always knew how to win on the road, and so
far they haven't shown that they can do that. Well,
I really thought Jason was gonna go and zagging a

(20:35):
different direction Mark by saying no, yeah, by the way,
well it was either the Knicks or Owen. By the way,
the Lakers are back. I could have gone from Hey,
the Clippers about to be Owen for in the Westbrook era,
Nick's undefeated in the Josh Hart era. You know what
I think that Josh Hart plug was is very real.

(20:58):
Like I'm not gonna say the friend franchise player yet,
and they should retire his jersey but look like he
is a very good role player. What he did spend
their hustle team Guy, he's close to Jalen Brunson, Like
he checks all the boxes of what you want as
a glue guy. Mark. I have seen people's MVP ballots
right now in the NBA, and it's Josh Hart, then
Jalen Brunson, then Julius Randall. I've seen ballots with that. Wow.

(21:21):
And Nicoleeokitch is gonna finish four because of the next resurgence. Wow,
see the way that works out? Yeah, you know what,
I'm being dead serious here. I was on Colin Calhert
show earlier this week. I kid you not. We were
talking Nicks and not only their stellar play, but he

(21:42):
and I were actually saying, hey, if they match up
with Cleveland in a playoff series, like I would give
the Knicks a chance. Like I still think it's Celtics
and Box So that's what's going to be in the
East Finals. But you know, we're talking about the next trajectory.
You know, I did backtrack a little and think, Okay,
I forgot that Donovan Mitchell has still a lot of
great depth around them. But I think they do have

(22:03):
a case to be able to beat them. Yeah, Nick's
Bucks Eastern Conference Finals. We're rolling through everybody. Why woming
yourself NBA Final and well, you know, Jannis, this tough timber.
I want I want to I want to keep one
foot planet firmly as I leap for the stars with
the other one. Very very nice, you done, NBA Writer,
NBA dot Com. Weekly guests for us here, Fox Sports Radiar,

(22:24):
NBA Insider. It's Mark Medina with us here at the
Jason Smith Show with me, Mike Carmen on Fox Sports
Radio at Mark g Underscore Medina where you find him
on Twitter, Read him again, NBA dot Com. Let's circle
back to the Lakers then Lebron James. Now it's gonna
be three weeks until reevaluation. Anthony Davis, despite planned days off,

(22:47):
had the opportunity yesterday to say I'm gonna be that guy,
not be sat out they want anyway. But now Laker
fans and we gotta get Frostburg kind of calmed down
over there, Mark Um, as much as I like in
the schedules, all finding good. What do we say about
Lebron James going forward? Well, I think there's some silver

(23:07):
lining things here well, not silver lining, but like maybe
a cyber leaf that's not as bad as it could be.
You know, I was told earlier in the week that
Lebron James's right foot injury it's not season ending, doctor's determent.
He doesn't need to have surgery. Now that three week timeline,
that's the time for when he's going to get reevaluated.
So maybe he even misses further. But I know that

(23:30):
there is optimism, even though you know they're they're going
to have to see doctors afterwards, but there is optimism
that after this absence of three weeks, he can come
back and he can play through the pain. It's not
going to be structural vulnerable. But guys, just do the
math here. They have nineteen games left. Three week sideline
means that he's out for at least the next ten games.

(23:53):
So the best chase scenario is Lebron plays the Lakers'
final nine games. They're thirty and thirty three right now
in eleventh place. What's the Wrecker gonna be without Lebron James? Look,
they can win without him, maybe on a short term basis,
like they did in Oklahoma City last night, without shaking
Georges Alexander. But you know, just knowing how NBA teams operate,

(24:15):
teams can win without a star player maybe one or
two games because of adrenaline rush, but then kind of
the walls of nature come back to even things out.
And so yeah, I'm I don't have my hopes up,
but they're still in the thick of it. The West
is wide open. There's not a lot of separation from teams,

(24:36):
you know, three through twelve. So let's have at it.
Clippers keep losing exactly, Russell Westbrook for runs, it is
going to help the Lakers make the playoffs. He's now
the lakers most valuable player. All we had to do
it let him go across. Hey, you know a conversation

(24:57):
Mike and I had earlier in the show Mark about
John Morant, and it's just absolutely crazy that here's someone
who's now been involved in three really difficult circumstances. The
latest one that's come up where he allegedly beat up
a seventeen year old kid after a pickup basketball game.
This on the heels of the fact that he and
some of his people that he was hanging out with

(25:19):
hassled some Pacers staffers. A couple of weeks ago, then
there was an incident with security guard at a mall,
and I can't believe we're having this conversation where I'm saying,
I've gone from last year thinking John Morants the new Kobe.
I mean, this is it. He's going to take over
the league. This is an MVP we're looking at. And
now I'm saying, I don't know if he's going to
be in the league in five years because he is

(25:41):
on a really bad path and this is like his Hey,
I gotta wake up and see this right now, because
this is not trending well for him, and this is
one more mistake and you put everything you've done in
your career at risk. Yeah, this is absolutely ridiculous. And
look like even before all these incidents happened on a
much smaller scale, I thought the Memphis Grizzlies, partly because
of John Morant's attitude, you know, they were seen like, hey,

(26:05):
the team that's playing with joy, and maybe they could
be what the Warriors were when they started out on
their run in twenty fourteen fifteen. But then all of
a sudden, they started becoming the punk kids that reminded
me of the Lobs City Clippers. Or the Houston Rockets
with Chris Paul and James Harden, but on a much
more serious scale here, while the NBA you know, technically

(26:27):
couldn't find, you know, the corroborating evidence in regards to
the incident, the U outlined about everything going on with
the Grizzlies Indiana Pacers game where people around John Morant
were threatening Pacers staff employees, you know, so much that
some of them thought there was a red dot on
their head. And also you know, the latest incident about

(26:50):
he and some of his friends beating up on a
teenager during a pickup game at his house. That's going
to go through litigation, and the family attorney is disputing
certain details here, like forget the technicalities, and you know
the I guess presumed innocence until proven guilty, Like this
stuff is absolutely horrendous and can't be condoned whatsoever. And

(27:13):
you know, while I do, you know, hold out hope
and trust and all that that the league and all
parties involved through the court system will do their due diligence.
It will be absolutely unacceptable if they sweep whatever findings
they have under the rug. Like the people who are

(27:35):
around us, whether it's Jah and people and this family
and friends are all the above. They need to be
held accountable for this kind of behavior like it's dangerous,
it's reckless, it's very irresponsible, to say the least. You
can follow on Twitter at Mark g Underscore Medina. That said,
Mark g Underscore Medina, NBA dot com writer and insider.

(27:56):
Mark is always buddy. Appreciate your time and I look
forward to now you working on eight hundred words ranking
the home alone movies from from top to bottom. I
can tell you one and two or you know, co
number one and the rest. However, whatever remakes are, they're
not worth their time. Oh that's bad news for Alex
de Linz oh Man. I'll tell you all right. Thanks

(28:17):
as much as always, Bunny, We'll talk to you next week.
Appreciate all Sam mark great stuff from Mark Mdina. We'll
have more on the jam Morant situation coming up in
a bit, because it's just I mean, really, he's at
the point in his career where he either gets it
or I don't know if he's going to be playing
in the league in a couple of years. I mean,
that's that's how serious where he's at right now, with
all these incidents. That have come and clearly hasn't learned

(28:40):
anything from it because you've had three things that keep happening.
And this is a guy who was ready to take
over the league and now we can't get out of
his own way. Well, and that's it, right. Some of
that joy enthusiasm Mark talked about was also the hey,
we're taking over the league. A lot of bravado, a
lot of brashness, and you see that in the off
the court incidents time and again. Seems to be that

(29:03):
that mentality, the bully mentality that they try to put
on the court, and you know, we take it as
a positive in between the white lines. Then you take
it off and well, now you've got a number of
incidents that the team, league and everybody needs to be
aware of and take appropriate action. Be sure to catch
live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon

(29:23):
weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific Kingsio, Fox
Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best friend
Mike Harmon lit from the Tirerack dot Com Studios. And
it didn't take long, But now you want to know
who the big next villain in the NFL is And
I'm here to tell you. I mean, it's a villain

(29:44):
to you, for everybody. It's a villain for everybody, because
this is someone that's gonna screw it up for everybody else.
Right now, where are we at? Right now? It's quarterback season? Okay,
So we know Aaron Rodgers has to make his decision
the Jets of the leader in the clubhouse. Either he's
gonna to go to the Jets or or he decides
I want to go to the Raiders. They figure it

(30:05):
out because the Raiders have no plan, and the Jets
wind up pivoting to Derek Carr and things fall in
as they should. Right. This is this is what we
have built towards the last couple of weeks. Right here's
the Jets. It's gonna be him. It's gonna be the
Jets or nobody for it's gonna be the Jets or
somebody else. We know, Aaron Rodgers, Derek car we know
what's gonna happen. No, no, no, But now the Carolina

(30:27):
Panthers have to get involved and screw it up for
everybody else. Reports today the Panthers contacted the Packers about
trading for Aaron Rodgers. Now, this report has been met
with let's just be kind and say indifference from the
Carolina Panthers. Okay, they said no, it didn't happen, but
we have reports out the Panthers are reaching out for

(30:51):
Aaron Rodgers. They are gonna screw it up for everybody
because now here come the Panthers, and you know they're
gonna do something big. They are because they have exactly
what teams possess to do that. They have two things.
They have desperation and they're itchy, right because they're itchy
because they have to make a move. They've tried this
quarterback thing the last couple of years. Sam Darnold's the guy.

(31:13):
No he's not. We gave up draft picks, doesn't matter.
We got Baker Mayfield. He's our guy. No, it's not
all right, Well look could it be then, well maybe
it's Sam Darnold again. No, it's not. They are desperate
like teams like the Jets and the Vegas Raiders are,
but they're also itchy. You have a new owner who
wants to make his move, a newish owner who wants
to make his move and put his stamp on the franchise.

(31:34):
They're gonna screw things up and get involved and get
somebody in overpay and give somebody all kinds of guaranteed
money that your surprise, are gonna get. They're the ones
are gonna ruin it for everybody. Everybody kind of knows
what's gonna happen right now. We know we know where
the dominoes are gonna fall, and Rogers is gonna go
here or there, and then Derek Carr is gonna find
No now you're coming to pat there's gonna screw it
up for everybody. No. I like that. I like the

(31:55):
way you're you're making Temper the bad guy. And it
seems to me that just based on reputation, he's a
guy that it's okay with being that guy because remember,
he's never gonna be worst amongst all owners. He's not
gonna have a bunch of f minuses and everything so
long as a certain owner up in uh Well in

(32:16):
DC is still around. And for that matter, um son
of Bidwell is so he can't be any worse than thirtieth,
no matter how villainous he gets. But for you, yeah,
he's he's potentially changing how the course of the dominoes fall.
You know, us painstakingly set them all up and then

(32:37):
someone accidentally hits one and no, I worked hours on it.
That's kind of a You've worked weeks and months, you know,
to get your jets at a position to get a
quarterback of quality. This is like this is like where
in quality of course, this is like when, hey, what
are you gonna do? I'm gonna set the Guinness Book
of World Records for what for dominoes? I got the
dominoes ready to go. Here. They're gonna go through They're

(32:59):
gonna go up with this window sill. They're gonna go
in a circle and a loop de loop. They're gonna
come down around my car. They're gonna go downstairs, they're
gonna go across the street. They're gonna go up to
somebody's house. They're gonna fall into a pool. And then
you get there and you gotta got it all built.
And then some three year old comes walking around going
down the house. No, what are you doing? And then
you gotta this is what's happening right now. This is
what the pat This is what their panthers are gonna

(33:20):
do to everything. We're gonna everything is fine. You had
your chance to get in. You could have said you
wanted a quarterback off. No, now you got now you
want to get Now you want to ruin things you
could have got in before Aaron Rodgers went on that retreat.
You could have talked to Derek Carr before. Now you
could have done all these are Now you want to
get ruin it for everybody. Trust you know what you're
supposed to do here is you're really supposed to talk

(33:41):
up what you remember of the collegiate career of Matt
Krell so that you can hopefully anybody listening, you know
they're in the Carolinas, that maybe you can get them
to write a big think piece and get back into
the film history of matth Corral and sell him as

(34:02):
your future and try to dissuade the powers that be
from going anywhere near your beloved Derek Carr because that,
listen to yourself, that's where you've gotten. So now you're
mad about the fact that the Panthers can come in
for Derek Carr. Doesn't that really kind of scare you?
That how quickly you had to pivot everything with the

(34:23):
Jets scares me that I'm constantly scared. I'm a like
in a screen movie. I'm constantly looking over my shoulder.
Are you the killer? Are you the killer? Are you think?
I'm constantly scared content? It doesn't matter where does. It's
a constant state of mind for me. Can Sauce learn
how to play quarterback? Bus? Can you throw? Can you?
Can you just hand the ball off? If you do
either of those things where we'll give you extra money.

(34:45):
How about that extra cash? Extra cash? Yeah? Drawn two
paychecks not a bad way to go. I mean, you're
gonna have Steve Colin, Pam but the but the Panthers
are gonna go get somebody. Trust me. They are now
in it, just like the Jets, just like the Raiders.
Are you're talking about big time serious. We're gonna go
get a quarterback in the off season. They jumped to
the top of that list with the Jets and the Raiders.

(35:05):
Yea yeah, But you still have the Saints in there. Yeah,
you know, there are reports that it could happen anytime now.
They couldn't close a deal with Derek Carr. Come on, man,
but that's it that they might. They might still be
in the mix all over Shrimp cocktail ruining it for everybody.

(35:25):
Ruiners coming up next. We gotta make something out of
the NBA with Lebron keep it right here, Jason and Mike,
We're the Ruiners on Fox Sports Radio. I love the NBA.
