The way tire buying should be well. Right now in

(00:47):
the NBA Marquee game happening right now at the Crypt
say it, the Lakers own a four point lead over
the Suns eighty eight eighty four, this one late in
the third order. The Lakers defense tonight so good. Kad
has zero points. Mike Harmon, DeAndre Aten also no points
in the game tonight. That's how good the defense has been.

(01:10):
Just such a dominant effort. I mean You've just seen
it throughout this night, except for that really terrible close
out effort there on that last three point. You shush
that look like a Knicks defender. Oh stop, I took
you both down, like I'm John bleeping Wick right there, baby,
let's go. The Knicks normally play good defense, just like

(01:32):
you know, not last couple of games, though, Body, Well,
come on, guys, it's just a couple of games. He's
got there sixty percent. But it's like they give up.
Three guys are shooting, You're gonna guard me. I'm gonna
stand five feet back and I'm still gonna shoot. They
all think they're Damian Lillard come ahead, But this Saint
Draymond Green shooting threes. Oh but I mean, what are
you gonna do. It's a couple of games. What are

(01:52):
you gonna do? What are you gonna do? It's all right,
it's fine. You're gonna miss the playoffs, it's right, but
you're not gonna miss. But at this point, I mean,
is that the t and you want to set Hey,
you know what, we played really good defense for about
sixty seven games. We're done. Any surprise that a Tom
Tibodeau team last nine games of the season, ran out
of gains everything. We're ten games, eleven games over five

(02:16):
when you're out of gas and gases back up to
four seven. What do you mean we're not out of gas?
What are you talking about? What do you played? No
defense anymore? The box score says, hey, they're shooting the
lights out and you got no answers. Hey, I'm okay
with more because you know what offense is what wins
in the NBA. Now, to say we're gonna play great defense,
I'm glad they've evolved a little bit because you know

(02:38):
that doesn't This is not the NBA heat. This is
not the NBA of the nineteen eighties. This is not
where Boy look at that Knicks Bulls game. How great
was it? Yeah? Bulls won seventy nine seventy eight. Oh
what a defensive struggle that was. Yeah. I would give
everything to go back to those times. Would you really
like you'd like to see a lot of miss shots
that you like to see lots a lot of misses?
I like. I like watching guys beat the hell out

(02:58):
of each other. So even though northwe Stritch fell the
UCLA last week, that was glorious. What do you do
I shoved him five feet, calling on the other end,
not calling it here. Play on. No, you're not getting it.
But it wasn't five. I'm sorry, you're not getting it.
All right, Fine, we got more from the NBA coming
up again. We're going to the fourth quarter right now.
Lakers and the Sun's eighty eight to eighty five. The

(03:22):
Son's playing without Kevin Durant of course, and DeAndre Ayton
and Dan Marley. No he's not there. Kevin Johnson's not there. No, no,
he's not there either. The Lakers playing without Lebron James,
who is very excited on the bench. If the Lakers win,
they move back into tenth place, or really a tie

(03:42):
for ninth with the Dallas Mavericks who lost a night
because in Garden in bound and Luca Donzi wanting to
complain again. So the Lakers move into a tie for
ninth if they hold on to win this game. If
they lose, they fall to twelfth, behind the New Orleans Pelicans,
who still are wing for Zion Williamson to come back
at some point still another two weeks. Another couple of

(04:03):
weeks ago, he did get that tattoo that says Mountain
Zion Yeah, it would really be great if he was
able to, you know, get on the court, win a game,
and then there would have been a big reveal as
opposed to I got a lot of idle time while
I'm waiting for this hammy to heal. Check out my back, baby,
Well how much you wanted. But the Pelicans are liked.
He didn't get hurt getting the tattoo? Did he? Did

(04:24):
he get hurt? Infections? Still good? Right, He's not held
back by a tattoo. Oh I'm sorry. Yeah, the tattoo
needs to set for another couple of days. He's a
little sore. It's gonna miss about him next week, week
and a half. Oh boy, and that tattoo injury for
Zion Williamson from a couple of days now, it's been
four weeks since zionce. He can dunk and practice, but
he still can't get to the game. That's what I

(04:45):
would worry about if I was that day. Is he okay?
Do you guys? The everything all right? And everything good fun?
We got more NBA coming up in a few minutes.
But I gotta be honest. My favorite part of today,
and I kind of knew this last night, was knowing
that knowing that the how do I say this? The
landscape of the media and TV and radio shows like

(05:06):
I do. I love the fact that I know, coming
off the last night, the World Baseball Classic was a
big deal. I spent a lot of time talking about
it last night, Otani striking out Mike Trout to end it,
and you saw the ratings on FS one were tremendous. Uh,
you know, some of the highest ratings they've had for
a baseball game. I know, it's amazing, right, And my

(05:28):
favorite part was going there's so many people that I know,
not know personally, but that I know in the media
that whether on TV or the radio, that are saying
to themselves, oh boy, I gotta talk baseball in Shohotani today.
What do I say? Because I'm not a baseball fan
and I don't follow the game, but I gotta talk
about Otani? What do I say? What? Because you can tell,

(05:49):
you can tell when there's people who are fans of
sports and not fans of sports, when they go, well,
I can't really talk about let's just let's just talk
about Look, what's what's the angel on Ota? What are
we talking about Hanny for? And you can tell that
there was a struggle, a struggle for people to talk
about Showhyotani with with takes, takes that I've heard that
people thought there were mind blowing takes that are like

(06:10):
the easiest takes in the world about Otani. I'm like,
oh my goodness, and I can tell it. I go,
I know it and there and all the hosts would finish,
whether they're on TV or the radio, go Okay, do
I have to talk about him again for a while?
Can we can? We? Can we talk about other things?
Can I talk about lebron Can we can we talk
we talk about something else? Can we talk about Jimmy Garoppolo?
And and and getting a free sex offer for life

(06:30):
from the from from the brothel in Vegas? Can we
talk about were talking about Aaron Rodgers? About I left
whendesay nex time I can talk about Shoeyotani again. I
just the sweat I knew that came off of people
today because they had to talk about Shohyotani and they're
either not baseball fans and don't talk about baseball, and
it's a really difficult spot to be in. Yeah. I
think there were a couple of things that kind of
popped off. What number one. When you start talking about

(06:51):
how much money he's gonna make, I mean that's two
years in the making. I mean that's that. That's not
a big get. Hey, what do you estimate his current
value is? I don't know, put an extra ten million
on it, all right, or have the six hundred. The
value is whatever Steve Cohen offers him. Value whatever Cohen
or the Googenheim machine decide to offer him. That's it.

(07:15):
That's all it comes down to it. And I would
expect him to be a Dodger before he's a met
But that's just me. Uh. And it's not to pit
you two against each other in a John Wick like fight.
Although you guys would stop and have a drink in
the middle of the fight, I would do that. Yeah, yeah,
we stopped in a hotel to have a drink in
the middle. That would turn one and then you start

(07:35):
rolling down the street like you're Peter Griffin and the chick.
Plus you know, I'm over fifty now, I can't like
have just a fight. I need to be able to
stop at some point in the middle of the fight
to be able to rest for a little bit. Oh yeah,
you're gonna get winded. Yeah, and you're gonna do some
monologuing the stall. It's good. It's all choreographed, it's all
worked out. I mean, it's a wwe um event that
we will produce here as part of the show. But

(07:58):
the the idea of yeah, he's a great pitcher or
he's a great hitter, it's like, tell me something I
don't know. Right, he got to be in a big moment.
And the big takeaway for me that is really no
surprise is how much it meant to him. Right. I
saw an article talking about his more or less a
vision board that he had to put together when he

(08:21):
was a kid, and one of the things was win
World Baseball Classic when I'm twenty seven. Tutah, there you go,
shut up. Yeah, Mike Trout's already verbally committed to the
next one because he said yesterday he won. Well what
else is he doing? But he said he won Round one.
That's the next time people are gonna talk about me,
is the next World Baseball Classic? Could very well get

(08:42):
the case. Well, no, they're gonna talk about him a
lot here as to wasted time the two of them
together without being able to win a whole lot. If
you get really creative, then it's it's Mike Trout's fault
because he couldn't put the ball in play when he
finally did get a big moment to have much. Really,
that's his fault because a guy knocked ground into a
double play after Jeff McNeill walked like a hero leading

(09:05):
off the inning like Jeff McNeil does, doing Jeff McNeil
type things, and then Mookie Betts hit into a double play.
That really that was the moment, right then? Wells bets
it Goldschmidt, Really are the two guys that stand out,
met succeed, Dodgers fail. That's what it was. We already
went and adjudicated that last night. This is about Shohyotani.
If you haven't watched him, it's okay. Baseball's not your thing.

(09:29):
It's okay. Just recognize what the national image, and certainly
for us, we've had the back had him in the backyard,
and we've been able to watch a lot of those
games and marvel at what he's done on the mound
and certainly the heroics at the plate, all for not unfortunately,
given what the Angels have been these years. But none

(09:51):
of the performance really is surprising. It's more about the
guy and what this meant to him from a personal
level and showing that emotion, because you don't see that
even when he has monster games for the Angels. Yeah,
there's there's a little bit of excitement, but here he's
throwing gloves and hats and all of his stuff, jumping

(10:11):
up and down into the mosh pit with his team
and all of those things. Everybody that please know. And
now you get excited because he's gonna go and perform
for a few thousand folks when he does his next
start on Friday when he gets back to camp. But
it's it's always funny to just kind of watch like
we don't talk baseball. That was one of the big

(10:31):
points at the Barrett media conference. I went to day
two today and there was a little bit on air
checks right and going through, and part of it was
to say, all right, what are they doing wrong? Critique
blah blah blah, and you had some some old guard
when the guy referenced base was they did a Rob
Parker clip. Actually it was Rob and Chris and I'm

(10:53):
sure they talked about it earlier today, but Critique did saying, well,
baseball doesn't play. It's like, are you kidding me? It's
like when Edwin Diaz got hurt that you know what,
that's an end, that's an answer. That is one of
those answers that I hate that because that's when when
that's an answer you get from your boss that you
know he just read somewhere, uh in a in an

(11:15):
article about trends going up. Yeah, baseball, baseball doesn't right,
baseball doesn't rape. Nobody talks about hockey. No, it is okay,
But here's where, here's where it really gets destroyed. And
Rob did a fantastic yep to the point where I
almost stood up and applauded him with the slow golf
clap to try to get people to clap it. Brilliant.
This was a complete Rob Parker and I just looked

(11:35):
at him and I smiled because he thought he pushed
back too hard. Was was not being a gracious with
the criticism. But it was all about numbers and perceptions
versus reality. Because in the same breath, while saying, hey,
you can't talk baseball, it's like the numbers say you
have to talk college football. And I'm sitting there laughing
my ass off in the back going what on a net.

(11:59):
What it's like, what are we talking twenty five years
ago or in a particular market you are working in
and being the PBN as like when you got Rob
Hall of Fame voter who wears it on his sleeve,
or guys like us like Edwin dia is getting hurt
that cut to the fabric of you as a fan
and made the World Baseball Classic public enemy number one

(12:22):
while you celebrated in theory you lost your guy. Like
all of that comes together voices for and with the
community of people that love and root for these teams.
Likewise with shohey Otani, if you like baseball at all,
you've known what his exploits were and how great he was,
and this was just another case to showcase it. But

(12:44):
like it all became a thing about how baseball wasn't
it's like a five rating on a cable station. Come on,
you know it's it's not so much about and this
gets into a little bit about you know, some of
the stuff you hear on the radio all the time.
It's not always about the sport, but it's about what's hot.
Because big stories can come from anywhere, and you can

(13:05):
have a big baseball story and it's about one person.
And it doesn't mean that you know, okay, it means
that you can't ever talk about if Otani is the
big story. Otani is a big story. Now, it's not
the time for World Baseball class. Well, hey, we're talking
about baseball, so let me tell you what the White
Sox are doing as far as they're being a mystery
team in a trade, or what the pads are doing
or what that. No, that's the time to talk about

(13:25):
something that's hot, that's people want. You got to talk
about what's hot and what people want to hear, and
you got to find your own way to do it
and your own way to put a spin on it.
And what people are talking about is what you want
to talk about. And every time I hear that, it's
like some answer from a program director who's like, oh, yeah,
you know, I look at all the metrics. Right, it's
just stop and just don't give me an answer that
you read on you know, on a radio or TV

(13:48):
blog on the internet. Give me something real. Right. I
always say about about people because that was a big
thing at ESPN. There were so many people that were
always well, we did this research here and here, Oh,
because you put ten people in a room with a oh,
I don't like Oh. That means we can't talk about
It's just absolutely insane. Insane Twitter and how about a fresca?
Mike gets swollen down. The Jason Smith Show with My

The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmakers.

(14:32):
Happy John Wick Eves, Actually it's John Wick Day. Now
get night a Lakers right now, Jason, all right now? Yes,
the Lakers lead the Sons one o nine to one
hundred five minutes ago in the fourth quarter. Katie not
playing in this game, DeAndre Hayte not playing, no bar,
no Barkley. In fact, the Sons have been playing most

(14:54):
of the night with three players, so the Lakers should
have a bigger lead, but they still lead by nine.
Take it with about five minutes left to go, Dan
take the take the win, find your win. Just gotta win,
No I do you're pleasing You're the tied for ninth
a year and twelve. That's this is life in the
Western Conference right now. If you don't win this game. Yeah,

(15:15):
just think about uh Anthony Davis so far a game
that really he should be dominant in because there's no
DeAndre Ayton twenty five points, nine rebounds, five assists, shooting
ten out of eighteen for the night game high twenty
five for the Lakers. Meanwhile, the Lakers starting backcourt of

(15:36):
DeAngelo Russell and Austin Reeves have combined for forty four points.
Austin Reeves in the starting lineup tonight. How much more
does he make every big game he has? Take your time?
How great would it be if the Lakers at Darvin
Ham has press conference for saying, yeah, we think when
Lebron comes back, we're gonna bring him off the bench

(15:57):
and we're gonna let him work his way back into
ape and you know, we really like what Austin Reeves
is bringing us for, you know, thirty three thirty five
minutes again, just looks down at the box scorn and says, yeah,
what was the last time a prom with plus sixteens.
It's really just gonna give us too much variants and
everybody's gonna have to retreat into different roles. I kind
of like the way everybody is coalescing. Now. We've had

(16:18):
some pretty good efforts and good team basketball. I don't
want to disrupt that. Well, now we will keep you
updating on this again. Still about five minutes left to go,
so long time ago. In this game, Lakers are up seven.
H The Mavericks lost tonight to the Warriors at home.
The Warriors won another road game. Yeah, we win their

(16:39):
second road game in the last three nights, and it
has been a bit of a shocker. We're watching the
Warriors turn into the war Look, we're winning games on
the road. One twenty seven, one twenty five is your final.
And here's how it sounded. Well though he had final
club bro Oh oh we had so okay, very good.
Try again, Uh, let's try it again. So how did

(17:02):
that sound? Or I thought Tys she was gonna play
the butt fumble? I really can't because you were expected,
really thought we were getting I really thought now we
had that. We had that crazy play where the Mavericks
were caught not guarding the basket, which we'll get back
into coming up in a bit. But this I want,
I want to make this about Luka Dontitch here for
a couple minutes, because this game tonight it's not the

(17:26):
tipping point, but it goes to make a point about this.
There is a play near the end of the game
where Luca Donsitch really wanted a foul call and he
didn't get it Draymond Green playing defense and Luca walks
back up the floor at the referees and makes the
money sign like you're getting paid off. Now, we've seen
other players get thrown out of the game for that,

(17:48):
We've seen players looked at for potentially getting fined for that.
And it's as much as great a player as he is,
Luka Dontitch, he can be a really tough watch sometimes
and he's starting to get that way almost every time,
because the guy complains about virtually every single time down
the floor something happens, he's talking to the ref he's

(18:10):
upset about something every single time. I mean, even even
the biggest whiners and complainers in the NBA don't complain
as much as he does. And because he has the
ball all the time and look He's a guy scoring
over thirty points a game. There's a lot of attention
on him, you see it. But there's no star that
complains as much as he does. And eventually, at your
point where you know what, you get to that tipping

(18:31):
point where it's like, okay, now all Luca Donch just
does his wine and complain and you know, and you
saw tonight he's whine and complaining a game where they
shot ten more free throws than the Golden State Warriors
did and they had a chance to win the game
and they didn't. And here's Luca. He gets mad when
he gets pulled back a little bit on a free throw.
It's he's really really tough watch because every time you

(18:53):
look up, you feel like, here he is something he's
upset about, a call that wasn't made, or a call
that he should have gotten, or a call that wasn't
a foul, and it's just overwhelming and he's got to stop.
And when he does that, it's not only just the
optic of people getting pissed and the image of him,
but he hurts himself because if you complain about everything
when calls actually happen that you need to get and

(19:15):
you can play. You know, that's just nature and and
natural reaction of referees to go, yeah, not a foul.
You complain about every single one you can play, but
if you complain about what, okay, maybe I gotta pay
more attention to that because they tune you out. All
referees are human. They know who the biggest complainers are.
They can't stand the players who complain. They go into

(19:36):
every game going, great, I'm officiating this game tonight. I
know what this player is going to be and how
he's gonna do, and I'm really not up for his
crap already. And you know it. As much as the
officials try to be down the middle as they can,
you know they're influenced by the players. They know they
have to officiate and who complains, and who their favorite
players are, who their favorite players aren't when it comes
to who they officiate. And when Luca complains about every

(19:57):
single bleep and call, guess what, He's gonna not start
getting a lot of calls. And that's not gonna hurt him.
It's gonna hurt the Mavericks. But right now it's the
optic and he's got to find a way to change
that that he can't just be a cry baby, because
that's the worst that's the worst handle you want to
have on you. As an NBA player, all you do
is wine and complain, right, nobody wants that. Ever, you

(20:18):
don't want. You don't want to be that kid that
is wine and complain, like, Oh, I'm gonna go visit
my friend, but what's the matter? Ah? Her kid? All
they do is just wine and complain about stuff, and
she's asking for stuff and asking your stuff, and still
finally the mother has to say, fine, here, take it.
Go in the other room. All the kid just whines
like you want. Nobody wants to be around you. No
one's gonna give you the benefit of the doubt for anything.

(20:38):
And this is where Luca is right now, because every
time there's a nationally televised game, there's a big portion
of it. I see more more people every single time
going look at him complain, look at him complain, And
that makes him a tough watch. As talented as he is,
it makes him a tough watch sometimes. Yeah. I mean,
so we've watched the evolution, you have the Evan flow.
It's kind of like when we fell in love with

(20:59):
the Warrior and then eighteen months in, it's like, yeah,
we're tired of this because now everybody's trying to emulate them.
Most of their guys can't shoot it with any level
of effectiveness, their team's not as cohesive, and it all
falls apart and we get more bad basketball played. That's it.
You're trying to chase the leader, trying to emulate it.
The problem is it takes time and to take special

(21:21):
players to be able to match it, and people haven't
been able to do that. With Luca, it's the wow,
look at what a great player he is, how mature
he is for his age, all of these things. Now
he's a guy into getting into his mid twenties, and
we say, all right, we've seen the act for a
few years now, and we still respect the talent. But

(21:41):
it's also the all right, in the final four minutes
of a game, when is the explosion? When's he gonna
start cursing and running after the referees, when's he gonna
start making gestures towards the referees. Here it was still
the final one point seven seconds, so I mean that
was pretty impressive. Keptain cool ish till then. But when

(22:02):
every ball that doesn't go your way on the offensive end,
every call you don't get. Draymond Green played great, tenacious
adjutant defense on that play, and Luca did everything he
could to initiate contact after getting too far underneath on
the baseline, and the referee is like, no, I'm not
bailing you out because you lost sight of where you

(22:24):
were on the court and picked up your dribble and
now you want to make a play. No, Draymond's got
the right to that space, So what'd you get? An
errant shot? And as always loafing, whining, crying, and he
doesn't get back on defense, which well, which is fine
if someone else can tag in at mid court and

(22:45):
start running back down the rest of the way for you,
But that's just not how it works yet. Oh, I
think human would play if he if he could he
if he can find a way to get him like,
if he can find a way to say, okay, is
now going to be a new way to play the NBA.
Five guys on the court at the same time, and
one own I got a pinch runner right of those
guys following to clean up all his tears. It would

(23:05):
it would be a pretty it would be a pretty
big advantage because I like just imagine, like, okay, it's
five starters for the Mavericks and Cuban and it's five
starters for the Knicks and Dolan. I mean that would
be That's something. He doesn't even know the game's happening.
He don't know what basketball is? What what what do
I do with the ball? What do I what do
I do with this? Is my sphere? Ready? Is it
a round ball? Is it a round ball? What do
I do? I put it in my hoop or the
other one? Don't for the sphere. He used to be

(23:30):
able to shoot once upon a time, so he had
that go don't ask it no, no, no, no, I'm
kidding Dolan for three yes and it counts. James Dolan
has found a way to lose a lot of money,
but makes a three pointer there for the Knicks. Next year,
be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

(23:51):
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific. Oh, here comes Zaron Rodgers, Here comes Zaron.
Just write down Aaron Rodgers lane you Aaron Rodgers was
hard and hardman. We subtract packer stops my song. Fox
Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best friend

(24:13):
Mike harmon Um. The Jets are Packers. No no, no, no, no. Look,
every other team in the NFL is gonna be dead.
When Aaron Rodgers becomes a Jets quarterback, He's gonna slay
them all. It's to be like John Wick, except as
a quarterback. Just think about it, Lakers, He's the John
Wick of quarterbacks. Um. Look, two big moves in the

(24:35):
NFL today, And this is why I'm in such a
one of the reason why I'm in such a great
mood tonight. Well, I'm always in a great mood, but
a little bit extra tonight because this is more evidence
that not only is Aaron Rodgers coming to the Jets,
but more importantly, are they really giving up a lot
for him? Okay, so earlier today, the Jets made headlines

(24:55):
by signing wide receiver McCole Hartman away from the Chiefs
big deep threat mcole. Harman's pretty decent wide receiver, Hill
Sloughton is a good three or four guy. All right,
that's fun. And they trade Elijah Moore to the Browns,
Elijah Moore, who had a good six game run two
years ago. And then the Jets couldn't even get him
the football this year. He was very upset demanded a trade.

(25:18):
So you know, if the Jets are gonna get rid
of one wide receiver, he's going to be the guy.
But because he's young, he's under team control for their
couple of years. He was able to fetch from the
Browns a second round pick. The Jets send Elijah Moore
and a third round pick to the Browns for a
second round pick. So the Jets bring in Mcole Hardman. Great,
hopefully that's an Aaron Rodgers approved move. I hopefully he's

(25:39):
on the list somewhere and that works out, because if
it's not, boy, you just upset your quarterback. But they
get an extra second round pick. And this is where
I do the old Brian Wyndhorse to mean, now, why
would they do that? Why would the Jets need to
get another second round pick? America. He's putting his fingers

(25:59):
in the air, just like Brian Wynhorth. Why would they
do this? Why? Now? I ask you, why would they
do this? Obviously we know that Aaron Rodgers is coming, right,
it's happening. It's just gonna be. Now the Jets are
trying to figure out here's what we're going to give up.
And now the answer could come tomorrow, tonight could be

(26:19):
Aaron Rodgers Eve just like it's John wickif. Every day
for the last two weeks has been awesome because I
know the Jets are gonna get Aaron Rodgers. And each
day I wake up going is today the day? My
phone blows up? And when I wake up, I get
on and it's Aaron Rodgers? Is today that day? And
every day it's not. I'm okay with it because I
know what's happening. Right every fifty years or so that
Jets get something. Hey, look we'll give you something good. Now,

(26:41):
don't talk to me for another fifty years. This may
be the last good thing the Jets get that I
see in my lifetime. So I'm gonna enjoy the hell
out of every single day for it. But more importantly,
the Jets get another second round pick. Now we know
that the Packers would like picks in multiple drafts because
Aaron Rodgers will probably play another couple of years, and
so they want to pick this year, they want to
pick next year. As we have detailed very very much

(27:07):
over the course of the last few days, congratulation saw
all the other radio shows who picked this up and
TV shows who picked this up in the last twenty
four hours. The Jets have the leverage over the Packers
because Aaron Rodgers can't go back. He can't go back
after they pushed from the curb. They were too vocal
with their Aaron had a great career here, him coming
back is not our number one priority for us. So yeah,

(27:30):
we're done with Aaron Rodgers. Now. You can't bring a
guy like that back. And if you ask for too
much from the Jets, you run the risk of the
Jets saying, well, screw you, man, you want too much,
that's fine, good luck with Aaron Rodgers because nobody else
is trading for him, nobody else at this point. It's
the Jets or nobody, which is what it was for
Aaron Rodgers for the longest time. We've said I think

(27:50):
I should patent at it was the Jets or nobody.
So they have no leverage. So now the Jets spending
time going yeah, okay, oh, you wanted like two first
for a Yeah, we're not feeling that. Well, now you're
thinking like a first and a second. Now I'm not
feeling that. I'm thinking after today and I'm reading the
tea leaves on this, and I've been pretty accurate on
it so far. I'm now expecting to hear that the

(28:13):
price for Aaron Rodgers when the deal is done, is
going to be a second round pick this year and
a second round pick next year. And that's what it's
going to be, because the Packers completely mismanaged a situation.
They didn't really have the lead. They couldn't. You got
to be able to put two teams up against each
other if you're gonna get something out of them. Because
the Jets can sit back and go, yeah, you don't
want to you want to be unreasonable, that's fine. Yeah,

(28:35):
we're kind of screwed, but we'll go find the quarterback.
We can always go give Lamar Jackson two hundred and
fifty million dollars. We can always we can always do
something like that. But you're screwed. So now I'm thinking
what the Jets are gonna pick. They're gonna keep their
thirteenth pick this year, They'll keep their thirty second pick
next year. See they're there there there, thirty second pick
next year, and it's gonna be two second round picks.
If you put a gun to my head and said,

(28:56):
what do you think it's going to be. I would
say a second in twenty twenty three, and second in
twenty twenty four, and whatever the money is going to be,
the money's going to be. And that's what the Packers
are getting for Aaron Rodgers. Yeah. I think one of
the big pieces to it is just in this game
of chicken tug of war, whatever you want to do.
You want to go to the pugil sticks from American gladiators,
we can do that too, But just the idea that

(29:19):
you've got a lot of pressure outside in as far
as the Jets, right, just get it done already, so
we don't go through the process like the Packers did
because they watched it unfold, right. We watch all these
other teams and the drama they're in in terms of
Rogers not getting to camped, Rogers not making and committing

(29:41):
the time to working with the young receivers and all that.
So anything that's going to potentially leave the door open
for that to be an issue. Serbi Samini and every
other guy is ready with the poison pen. I did
that purposefully that I'm it is a rich tapest we
weave here on Fox Sports radio, but just the idea

(30:03):
for the Packers' side. Clearly they don't want him back.
They recognize that the potential is there that he decides
to squat like he's somebody that's taken over a home. Yeah,
my lease is up. Blank, you try to get me out,
and with different laws in different states, you can stand
it forever. In this particular case, it just makes everything

(30:25):
really messy if he wanted to go down that tack.
But it comes down to compensation at least that's what
we've been told, right, is that the only thing going
on is there some other fight and spite being played out.
I'm not giving that guy what he wants, Blank him.
And then we're gonna drag it out just because I can,

(30:48):
because you already have your other quarterback, like Jordan Love's
already working and going through And if he's at a
park with his guys and it's not illegal like Tom
Brady was doing it a couple of years ago, which
was one of the greatest moods ever. Now those guys
are the park, hey, because I want to throw the ball.
Did you think do you think Jordan Love comes to
the Packers facilities every day and peeks into Murphy's office,

(31:08):
knocks in argos. Hey, I'm still the guy, right, just checking?
All right, I'm gonna go work out, just checking every day?
Heat gone yet? Hey, Hey, I'm still the guy? Is uh?
Can I move into that locker? Yeah? Or wait? Did you?
I need to wait? Okay? All right? Right? Thanks? You
want to make sure? All right? Hey see tomorrow. Hey,
so is that gonna happen today? But I'm still the guy? Right? Okay?
All right? Now, no, I see you're on the phone.
I'll catch you tomorrow. Don't worry about it. Come on, Jason.

(31:28):
Now that he's a man, He's got his own office
on the second floor that Murphy goes to. He's guy.
It's called you want to come into the House of
Love and talk about football for a little bit and
dial up plays on the whiteboard. I got this idea
from Russell Wilson. It's gonna be fantastic, or a plan
on the iPad, just tell me right there, you know, hey,
it's the House of Love. Love spreads, Loving an elevator,

(31:51):
Love Davis Love the third way you said, love spreads Man,
Love Spreads is a great song. Dude, are you we'll pay? Hey?
Get love spreads queued up, Hey, coming up next? Something
insane about Lamar Jackson. Oh My love is spread and
ready Jason
