Now we'll get to Lamar Jackson coming up on a
couple lists, but a little bit more. In our conversation
that we were having about Trey Lance, John Lynch GM
of the forty nine ers today at the owners meetings says, hey,
Brock's earned it to be our starting quarterback. His progression
from UCL surgery is going to be well enough. They

(01:07):
expect him to come back and be able to start
the beginning of the year. And as we told you, okay,
now that was this was the announcement of John Lynch saying, hey,
call me for Trey Lance, right because they have Sam Donald.
Why would you sign Sam Donald if you thought that
Trey Lance is going to be there? That makes no sense. Right,
you have Brock Purdy and then you have why would
you go sign Sam Donald? You can go get Trey Lance.

(01:30):
And the thing that makes it, that makes it happen. Now,
this is what so drives me crazy about teams like
the Giants and the forty nine Ers is that things
always just seem to work out for them, right, just
always seem the Giants, it always seems to work out.
And the forty nine Ers, this last two and a
half years of quarterbacking just seemed to work out for him.

(01:51):
Jimmy Garoppolo is good, but he's not great. So we're
drafting Trey Lance. Oh but Lance got hurt, he's gonna
miss the season. But Jimmy Garoppolo is good. Okay, we
got to the NFC championship game. Yeah, we got to
move on from Jimmy. Okay, We're gonna go to Trey Lance,
all right, Trey Lance is the guy. Oh, Trey was good. Oh,
but then Trey got hurt. We gotta go back to Jimmy,
you know it. Hey, Jimmy's not bad, pretty good middles

(02:12):
He's Oh Jimmy got hurt. Oh. Now we got Brock Purdy,
mister irrelevant, who comes in and goes nine and oh
and gets them deep into the playoffs and beats the Cowboys,
and it's whoa, look at what we have. Now we
got a quarterback. All but Brock Purty gets hurt in
the NFC Championship game. What are we gonna do right now?
We have no idea. Oh but the surgery is going okay.
And now we have Brock Purdy back. And for all

(02:32):
the controversy about keeping Trey Lance, now we can trade him.
It just works out for the forty nine ers because
all they had to do is wait there to be
long enough time we're trading him. Isn't going to be
the big, horrible optic that it would have been a
couple of years ago, because the forty nine Ers, since
drafting Trey Lance, have proven we're still a really really

(02:53):
good team. We don't need you. We've achieved big time
without Trey Lance a quarterback, and I know it stinks
and it's a sunk cost, and we trade it up
to get the guy. But is anybody going to really
be upset if they traded Trent? No, nobody's going to
be the guy. The guy's barely played and brock Purty
showed up and got to the NFC Championship game and
he's going to be the guy back again. So yeah,

(03:14):
it's enough time has passed to say, Okay, we don't
have to worry about what the reaction is going to be,
because teams do have to worry about the reaction because
it's really it doesn't sell well for a front officer
or a head coach if you make a big time
panic move and you move on from a guy when
you haven't given him a chance. But once you get
to get hey, people understand, okay, moves don't always work out.

(03:35):
And you've had enough time to say, hey, we can't
count on Trey Lance, so now they can trade the guy.
It's time they can do it. Yeah, Unfortunately, you've you've
gone a couple of years down this road. You made
the trade, and it was a bold move and all
the excitement thereof but the game moves on, you don't.
You don't owe him a chance to go and be

(03:56):
your quarterback and wear the helmet. We've heard that a lot,
particularly going into last year. If he was going to
be the guy, great, if Jimmy had been available, would
Garoppolo probably started the year? Maybe maybe not, but when
he when he comes in. But the the idea that
you you owe Lance or need to keep him around,

(04:18):
I mean, it's business. It ain't personal. They may love
the guy, they may love what he is in theory Jason,
but when it comes down to it, you're moving forward
into twenty twenty three. He's got trade value and I'm
sorry if a guy's gonna be sensitive about it. And
that's this said this forever. It's like, if a guy's
going to be sensitive and you're going to quote lose him,

(04:41):
then that he's not really your guy. You're not gonna
be able to count on him in big stressful moments.
If a comment like, hey, you know what, you know,
we we've got a guy in Brock that we like.
He's earned the right to to be the lead. That's
not saying Trey couldn't go and beat him out if
he were still on the roster. But yeah, you and
I do what we do here. We're reading between the

(05:01):
lines of hey, come get them if you want them,
If the price is right, we can move on. Which
is why you extol the virtues of adding Sam Darnold
to your quarterback room. It's it's an ever changing, evolving business.
The fact that we we had it's it's like a
baseball right, you have the the love uh and football,

(05:21):
it's it's gone a long time ago. But the idea
that anybody's gonna be in one uniform for their career,
unless it's a really short career, I don't bank on
it anymore. All Right, there's gonna become that part of
your career where maybe you're not as valuable to the
squad you you've been with, no matter how great success

(05:42):
you had. But there's some team that's desperate to see
if they can squeeze the final good drops out of
that the magic that that made you a star. We've
seen it so many times. You who are you picturing
right now? Go ahead, Bob Hope, all right? When he
was on the U SO tour, you know what, he

(06:02):
was at his best when he had the jaunty hat
on and a putter in his hand because if anybody
got too close to any of the girls that were
up on stage, he was ready to use it. Yeah so.
But but just the idea of trading cards of Jerry
Rice at a Seahawks or Broncos uniform, does that make sense? No?
Oh yeah, sure yeah, nor Cardinal right, I mean like

(06:22):
that would be the first one that people go to.
Is a dolphin? Yeah, no, I got it, shure. And
there's just that weirdness to it. But clinging to the
history helped Joe Montana moved on. It was the Kansas
City Chief. Okay, as soon as that's going on, and
plenty of earlier examples like this guy hasn't done anything,
that he's the guy you have to stick by, and

(06:46):
that there there's anything other than a draft status and
what you gave up a couple of years ago. Well,
those two seasons have passed. This is a new team,
new needs and you were able to pick up a
guy in Darnold that if you like him a little
bit and you think he's been miscast Jets and you
liked that final month in Carolina, then yeah, he's expendable

(07:08):
and open for business for those that don't get Lamar
or Aaron Rodgers. Now speaking of Lamar Trey Lance, you
know that that's that's one conversation Lamar. Part of it
is also just plays right off at the Jason Smith
Show with Mike Carmon live from the tirect dot Com studios. Now,
teams are starting to get weird about quarterbacks and where
they're going to go and who they can pick up.

(07:30):
And yes, here's John Lynch saying, hey, you know you
want Trey Lance, come get Trey Lance. Lamar Jackson came
out today and said, hey, I requested a trade in
the early part of March, just to let everybody know this,
and I'm putting this out there on social media. The
same time, John Harball is sitting down to breakfast at
the at the owners meetings. So this is what's going
to happen. Now. This is Lamar Jackson versus the Ravens,

(07:52):
and we knew was going to get ugly like this
after today. Lamar Jackson's kind of taking He's not doing
it the right way, but he's trying to take control
of the narrative surrounding his career because this whole Ken
Francis and we're opening a gym and we're doing all this.
This is what scares teams off. I don't know if
I want this guy. This guy hadn't even know what

(08:13):
he wants. He doesn't even have a representation. He's just
made it harder on himself with going through this whole
thing because no one knows how to talk to him,
who to talk to, what's going on with him, how available.
So I'd give him the nod because we talked about
it last week that he needed to take control of
things more. And so yeah, so now this, hey I'm
talking about this is Jason Lockanford told us early in

(08:35):
the show. Lamar is saying the quiet part out loud.
I wanted a trade. I'm not going to return. I'm
going I want out. So if this is the if
this is the point where now teams can get involved
for Lamar, because I really do believe that this is
now the time where even the skittish teams are gonna go, Okay,
we can go get him now. We can either figure
out a trade with the Ravens, we can go talk

(08:55):
to Lamar, we can do this now. The thing that
Lamar Jackson's got to come around two right, And this
is the biggest thing is that now that he looks
like he's taking control of his situation a little bit,
is that he's got to come off the five years
guaranteed money that everybody thinks he has been at for
the past few months. Right. I want more money than

(09:18):
Deshaun Watson, god from the Cleveland Browns. I want more
than two hundred thirty million dollars, which means if you're
gonna give him two hundred and thirty five to forty
two fifty, you're talking about at least a five year deal. Right,
that's what you're talking about for Lamar. Teams don't want
to give him that. And I get it because you're
talking about a quarterback that who knows what his shelf
life is going to be. He's been injured. Yes, the

(09:40):
guy is a MVP in one of the top five
quarterbacks in league when he's healthy, but he's had some
some injury problems. And do you want to guarantee him
that kind of money later on in his career if
he comes off of because the next thing he's got
to do is tell people what he's coming off of
if he comes off of the five years and lets
people know that the three one thirty that I talked

(10:03):
about with the Ravens that they wouldn't give me. If
we're talking three years one thirty one forty, then that's
going to get a deal done because teams will go
in on Lamar Jackson for the next three years. Okay,
it's gonna be twenty eight twenty nine coming off this.
If we want to move on, we can. But we
have this guy the next three years of his prime.
And you know what, a quarterback is going to be
a risk, right, No matter what a quarterback is going

(10:24):
to be a risk. There's a good risk we can
take in a bad risk. A bad risk would be
five years two hundred and fifty million guaranteed. A good
risk would be three years, one hundred and thirty ish
million guaranteed. If we want to move on, we can
move on. If he's hurt one of the years, okay,
we can figure it out. Hopefully he's back and healthy
the next year. That's a risk that teams are gonna take.
So as long as he comes off of that, then

(10:45):
he'll find he'll he'll get a couple of people interested
really really fast, and there will be conversations and whether
it's an offer sheet that's not matched, or hey, we're
gonna sign you and then trade you for this, then
things will happen pretty fast, Lamar Jackson. But he's got
to come off of that five years, two fifty and
come down to more three years, one thirty, then it's
going to happen. Yeah, I mean, there's just got to

(11:05):
be that realization, right Obviously, the Deshaun Watson talking point
is all the off field transgressions and wondering what that
does long term. Well, he's available to play right now.
You don't have to like it, you don't have to
agree with it. We can all laugh at the Browns
for spending the money they did. Watson had ruled them

(11:27):
out of his list of would be suitors twenty four
hours before that came back in a hurry, right, and
all of a sudden, he's a Cleveland Brown with this
massive guaranteed deal, and Lamar, if if we take what
he's given us that three for one thirty three, I

(11:48):
don't know how much more you're getting because everybody keeps
going back and you mentioned it there. He's an MVP,
he was an MVP. He's a guy that's now missed
multiple games to the last two years and for this year.
I guess she had debated. He tried to tell you
how hurt he was, to say, hey, you know this

(12:09):
was really an injury and not about the contract. But
does any of this cause cause you to go back
in doubt? Because if that's the guy you're getting that
he wasn't injured but he was posturing and pouting, then
that's a whole other part to the game going forward.
How soon before he doesn't want to play for you,
if he doesn't like your front office, regardless of what

(12:30):
the paycheck was and the guaranteed money. I don't know.
There's there's just a lot that that spins off of this.
I do like that he's more vocal. I wish he'd
not done the the random video with his guy Francis.
But here, come on, they're trying to get a Jim
off the ground too. Come on, there's priority's harm and

(12:50):
come on man, no, no, no, hey, look man, I
like things running in parallel. I like side hustles. Right now.
Your your your job is securing the two hundred million
dollar bag, not trying to give launch your home Jim,
of which I get three thousand things per day, and
my span builters. Hey, what about this gadget? This will

(13:11):
really blast your quads? How about this this will shape
your tummy? Does it? Tell me and put a muzzle
on me? So I don't eat? That's my bigger problem.
Twitter and out about a Fresca. Mike gets swollen to
him the Jason Smith's Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
So if he comes off that and he lets teams
know that, hey awesome. And in fact, Jason lockinfora Ravens

(13:35):
insider who has been on this for months, told us, hey,
this is how it's gonna end, said that he expects
Lamar to actually do something like that or to tell
other teams, Hey, I don't want I want what I'm
want from the Ravens, but I'll take a little bit
less from you guys. I'd like the reverse hometown discount
that he's got because he's so pissed off and what's
been going on with the Ravens. Oh boy, just becomes

(13:55):
a curiosity and what that package of picks and dollars becomes.
And know who he's going to be the biggest loser
in all of this, right, Who's that? The Jets? How
when Rogers doesn't walk through that door, Lamar Jackson, but
he's gonna be on another team. No, just stop. The

(14:17):
Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon live the tirect dot
Com Studios. Frostberg. Just worry about Lebron coming back in
the seven biggest games of his career. Okay, where he
can beat in a few minutes, trying to make the playoffs.
But coming up next, let's see, we have woes bombs,
right we We've had, We've had, We've had glaze bombs.
We have a Yahoo Charles Robinson bomb coming up next

(14:41):
in regard to the Packers and the Jets, and they're
continuing negotiations for Aaron Rodgers. Way do we tell you
what's going on right now? That's coming up next? Right here,
Jason and Mike, this is Fox Sports Radio. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Jason's Smith Show with
Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific

(15:04):
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app. I
hate that song. Fox Sports Radio, The Chase and Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harman, Yo the ti
Irack Dot Cops Studios. And you know, once in a
while we get a woes bomb late at night for
the NBA. Oh, by the way, the big WOJE bomb
of NBA. Tonight. The Sacramento Kings did not clinch a

(15:26):
playoff spot, so they still have the longest drought in
all of sports back to two thousand and six. When
they clinch a playoff spot in the next few days,
that title will belong to the New York Jets, who
have not made the playoffs just twenty ten. Nice before
we get into into this next topic, can I ask
an NBA question? Sure, buddy, go ahead. If Joe lmbid

(15:48):
and you cry and moan and complain and say I'll
be the bad guy, blank him. He's got his MVPs.
He's not won anything either. Why does it everybody get
at me? Wouldn't you play the next game against that guy? Oh? Sure, yeah,
sure you would. Yeah. No, I'm beat or hardened tonight.
Yeah no, no, no, no no, no, no. Yeah. Dude. Did

(16:11):
you see did you see Raymond Felton was at the
Knicks game and you couldn't even recognize him? Oh my goodness,
he was trending. I'm like, why is Raymond Felton trendy?
Because he was in the Knicks gamez Raymond felt, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
When you say trending, like six people engaged, No, like
it was up. The thing was up, Like, why is
Raymond Felton trendy? Because it's back in you know it was.

(16:32):
But when the show was starting and it was all
the NBA stuff was ending and you get all the
NBA stuff at the top of Twitter and it was Raymond,
I'm like, why is Raymond Felton trending? And he trending?
He's at the game. No one recognized him because he
uh is not quite the small spa point guard that
the smaller point guard that he was. Yeah, he was there. Now,
this is what we get tonight from Charles Robinson, NFL reporter,

(16:55):
senior NFL reporter for Yah, who never heard of he
was about forty five minutes old. A deal between the
Packers and Jets to swap Aaron Rodgers for two high
draft picks read not first round picks, because Brian Goodakoon
said today, we don't have to get a first round
pickback for Aaron Rodgers, meaning the Packers aren't getting a
first round pickback because they blew the negotiations. A deal

(17:20):
between the Packers and Jets to swap Rodgers for two
high draft picks is taking shape. One lingering hang up
is whether the Packers will agree to some draft give
back protection if Rogers somehow doesn't play the twenty twenty
fourth season. So basically the deal looks like it could
be agreed upon or done, but the Jets may be
a little concerned. What if Rogers goes on some kind

(17:42):
of darkness or treat after this year and says I'm
done playing, I don't want to play anymore, or hey,
i just won the Super Bowl with the Jets, I'm
going out on a high note. I'm not gonna play again.
Would the Jets get some kind of trade protection back
if Rogers doesn't play. This is where they are at
right now. Sources in this report characterize the deal is

(18:03):
getting closer and the giveback protection is what is uh
sitting right now in between that and the deal being
consummated if Rogers doesn't play beyond the twenty twenty three season.
Feeling smarter by the minute, this is something we have
proffered as a possible explanation going on a while right
as a guy going to be forty years old who's

(18:24):
flirted with the retirement repeatedly, if you're gonna have to
give up multiple picks and face it. If the Jets,
if it does what he's supposed to, they're not gonna
be great picks, right. So but if he walks away,
you're left holding the bag. Yeah, I would think that
you'd fight to make those as advantageous for you. If

(18:49):
if the well inevitable does right, he's he's close to retirement,
he's threatened. It's forty. So if he went to Super
Bowl and walks off, that's fine even if he's the
guy that could walk away at any moment. So yeah,
if you if you're having to go for multiple picks
and again where second, fourth, whatever rounds? Yeah, you want

(19:11):
to make put as much language in there. You know
how many starts does he make? Um might tie it
to just does he actually prepare for the year? See
what I'm doing now? Now I'm just working you. And
the fact that he won't show up to work with
your young receivers or running backs, that's why he wants
all the guys. I don't have to worry about that.
That wish list that they have man including the offensive

(19:33):
lineman and everything else. It's brilliant. Now, here's the other thing. Yeah, okay,
here's the other thing. According to this report, what is
the deal for Aaron Rodgers? Right, remember we told you.
Let remember all we want to say. We told you
last week we're ahead. Say it again. What is the

(19:55):
day of the curve? And we told you last week
as things were going, the Jets were gonna have to
give up a first round pick in this deal. Because
the Packers bift the negotiations, they couldn't be silent until
it was done. They had to talk about Aaron Rodgers
in the past tense and that they didn't want him back.
And once you tell a player you don't want him back,
you got to get rid of them. So you just

(20:16):
lost a lot of bargaining power, all the leverage that
the Packers say that. I want to laugh at all
the insiders who put out that because they were doing
the Packers bidding last week, all the leverage and they
don't have to trade it. No, they do because they
kicked a guy in the curve and you can't have
the guy back. I told you last week. They lost
all their leverage and the Jets weren't gonna have to
give up a first round pick. Brian Gudacoun said today

(20:36):
Packers GM, we don't necessarily have to get a first
round pick back for Aaron Rodgers. According to Charles Robinson
in this report, the deal would be the Jets send
a second round pick in this year's draft and another
second rounder in twenty twenty four. That's what the deal
looks right now. That second rounder could move to a

(20:59):
first round pick if they were achievable. Team escalators, whether
it was the Jets make it far in the playoff,
they host the AFC Championship game, Rodgers at whatever it is.
So it looks like it's a second and a second,
which tells you why they got that extra second round
pick last week in the Elijah Moore trade. I told
you they weren't gonna have to give a first round
pick again. New York Jets master negotiators. Master. They figured

(21:25):
out it was three months ago or not three months ago.
Two and a half months ago, it was two first
round picks for Aaron Rodgers. Then a month ago it
was the Packers want a first round pick and more.
Don't come at me with anything less than a first
round pick and more. And now because the Packers fifted it,
because they couldn't shut up about wanting to move on
from Aaron Rodgers until after the Traders made They couldn't

(21:46):
stay cool. They couldn't stay cool. All two and a
half years, they stayed cool, not saying bad things about
Aaron Rodgers. And now at the very endits oh, we're giddy.
We can't believe it. All they said it, and they
blew it. They blew it. So now the Jets don't
have to give up first round picks for it. I
told you it was going to happen. It's happening, and
it's every day. It's Aaron Rodgers Eve. Now tomorrow could

(22:07):
be Aaron Rodgers Christmas Day, but it could be another
Aaron Rodgers Eve Day. It's coming, it's happening. The Jets
aren't giving up a first rod pick. It's great. Yeah, buddy,
you worked at Yeah who you used to work there?
You ever hear Charles? Do you ever hear this guy?
I've never heard of him. Charles was the guy that
worked with Jason Cold who up end the whole Reggie
Bush world. Uh yeah, Frostburg Yeah, like insider right Yeah, dude, dude, dude, dude,

(22:31):
you're not gonna trust pay for this blue check mark.
I'm well, pretty soon everybody's gonna if you want one. No,
it says it's legacy, right leading money. Because if it
was like legit and Aaron Rodgers is walking through the
jet store, don't you think like Adam Schefter or Jake
Glazers or a real insider would have this chase. The
deal isn't consummated yet, it's this is what's till we

(22:53):
get some real sources, we get real. Just gets really
weird when we start throwing around the word consummated. You
know when when when Jay Cole was on the show
this week, I'm gonna say, hey, just that might be
your walk offline. You have a good night? Funny so Jason,

(23:15):
you and you and Charles Robinson, Yeah, are you guys real?
Because Frostburg says you guys aren't real insiders? Double for
your check mark. I would say this though, with this report,
and combined with earlier today and the Goodacoons comments where
he was ghosted, it's just got a funny that that
we're at this point because it's not even a hey,

(23:37):
you know what, we'll get you out of town. Let's
just work together to do it. Like now, how blank
you up done, You're on your own. I mean that's
really where we're hating this. You know you can have
helped me facilitate this. This is just a report. Man. Yeah,
Rodgers hasn't walked through that door. Nor dude, we're gonna
we're gonna trade two second round picks. We're gonna get

(23:58):
Aaron Rodgers. We're gonna get a third round pick back
or something. The Jets are getting everything, master negotiators. They're
getting everything. They're gonna get Aaron Rodgers. They're not going
to give the Traffics and teams like the Broncos. The
Broncos and the Raiders are gonna go why do we
give up all that stuff? The last two years from
Russell Wilson and Davante Adams. We should have followed the Jets.

(24:19):
We could have got our guys for way less. Master
here negotiating. No, no no, no, here's your problem with your
master negotiator. They're not negotiating anything because it's all about
what Aaron Rodgers wants to do now, but it's all
about what they're giving up. They're at the desperate franchise.
We want, we want a first round pickman. No, now

(24:39):
you're not getting a first round pick doesn't matter. Master,
you know what, always get what you want. Your facilities
on strings, Master negotiators. This guy celebrates without the toy.
He's even gotten. Well, you know what's the anticipation of
the toy. And by time that toy actually shows up,
you know what, he's on the wanton. The next one

(25:02):
desperations a stinky cologne smell right now? Oh, I can't wait.
You guys are gonna both calling sick the day that
Ded Rodgers becomes a jet because for six months sick? No, okay,
well okay, then all right to me? That badly? Then? Tier,
can you do both jobs? Yeah? I got you stop?
All right? Cool? What's the number one thing? Real quick? Yeah?

(25:23):
Go ahead, all right, Metsio's hired. You're not a real producer.
What are you talking? What's the number one thing? If
you had to work for Justin for six months, what's
the number one thing? You know you'd have to be
able to do. I'd probably have to have some more
keenan Allen stats. That's about it. Oh that is true? Yeah,

(25:44):
status for days? Yeah you have to ke announce. That's okay,
you would have that? All right, that's here. I got it.
I got it and incessantly mocked the two of us.
There there're a specific answer you were looking for there, No,
just wanted to see, like if when Rogers, I'm not
going to see you for six months, So I want
to make sure that Tishirt's ready to know who else
you're not going to see for six months? Rodgers? You

(26:06):
else I'm not going to see after that? Zach Wilson.
And it's gonna be okay. He's a lifer Seahawks in
ten years. And because Robert Sali said today he was
a number two quarterback all of a sudden, they don't
even they don't even have another quarterback on the roster.
But I but one. Nope, nope, you're not number one.

(26:28):
But but but there's nobody else. Nope, nope. What if
we had to play tomorrow, we have to play till September,
But nope, you're still the number two quarterback. But when
Sali said Zach's our guy, that wasn't true, right, Zach
is the high water. No, we can't believe. I'm gonna
give him hell with the training camp today, We're gonna
believe him. You know what, you know what I want?
I want when the Jets to get Aaron Rodgers. I
want to say Robert salam to say, we went through

(26:50):
hell and high water and we got there and we
got Aaron Rodgers. Sorry, Zach, good luck. But hey, hey,
you know this is why this is where things is
gonna work out great. Because Zach Wilson's going to give
Aaron Rodgers hell every day in practice. It's gonna make
Aaron Rodgers a better quarterback to start game one. It's
gonna be the greatest thing ever. Aaron Rodgers suspended four
games for attacking Zack Wilson, who was giving him hell.

I asked for one thing for the play of the night,

(27:59):
really gonna get it here? It is three seconds and
two Knickerbockers one thirty seven, the Rockets one fifteen, and
the final buzzer brings a win for the captain. Nicks
return home and win this one for Willis red Hope
of the Rockets. Tonight, hang the banner Knicks Radio network

(28:20):
on the call. Emmanuel quickly goes for forty points. The
Knicks win. They're forty three and thirty three in here.
They're gonna be clinching a playoff spot any day now.
The Rockets, ye, any day now. You can't what do
you always say, can't control who's on the schedule. I
don't care. They're six and thirty two away from home.
Can't it can only play who's on the schedule. That's funny.

(28:41):
You need a hug. You just went from zero to
like nine thousand right there. I'm just saying my point
was that you want to tie. It was more to
just dog the lack of efforts that we've seen, and
I'm sorry this is one of those situations of uh,
we like you you're kind of professional guy, maybe a
role player, but you know what, for the purposes of

(29:03):
what we're trying to do here this year, you will
be a starter, and you will play heavy minutes, and
you will be bludgeon consistently. Remember all those twenty nine
and four seasons you had at your mid mid major college. Yeah,
get used to losing. Jason, what are you gonna do
with that? Jalen Brunson, Jersey, you bought it, did Jane
Jane Bright He's coming back. He's either he's sitting out,

(29:26):
he's fine right now. You paid him, paid him a
lot for nothing. Yeah, we ply just proved that. Yeah. Well,
now we have two good guards. So it's all good.
But you can't never keep two. You're worried, dude. You
want a manual quickly for Lebron James. We're not gonna
do it. I'd rather have a manual quickly at this
point than Lebron James. So when I exactly it's all abroad,

(29:47):
it's funny because it's true. So one of the big
NFL stories say, look, we had the big owners meetings
we've heard and we talked about Lamar Jackson and Aaron
Rodgers and what's going on with with with Brian Goodacoon's
and John Lynch. And we get this little bit out
of New England where Bob Kraft told the public that

(30:10):
Meek Mill, who he has a relationship with Rapper, said, Hey,
how about Lamar Jackson for the Patriots. Now, I don't know,
maybe Meek Mill is negotiating on Lamar Jackson be have
I don't know. I don't know who is, and it
could be anybody. But Bob Kraft said, you know what, Hey,
that sounds great, But that's Bill Belichick's department. Edie's leaving
it up to him. And that's a really big deal

(30:33):
because everything today culminates with why the Patriots haven't gone
after Lamar Jackson when it just makes sense he'd be
the guy that would fit in on Belichick's team. This
is the guy they want. He wants to do a
thread quarterback. We have to talk for months. I'm scared
they're gonna make this happen, and it still hasn't happened.

(30:54):
And here's Bob Kraft saying, Hey, if we want to
go get him, it's okay. Hey, I love Lamar, but
that's Bill's decision. I wonder if the game hasn't passed
Bill Belichick by because why is he still trying to
win the way he has been the last couple of
years of we're gonna throw a couple of running backs
out there, and we're gonna build great defense and an

(31:16):
offensive line and just have okay guys at wide receiver.
It's not how you win in the NFL anymore, and
he's trying to be trying to do it a certain
way because he wants to show everybody I'm the real
genius behind this dynasty, not Tom Brady. But as time
goes on, I don't know why some of the personnel
decisions he's made he's done. Why signed two tight ends
that you're not going to throw the football too? I

(31:37):
don't understand. It has been a couple of seasons of
mediocrity for the Patriots since they moved on from Tom
Brady and now here when this should be a slam dunk.
Let's go out and get Lamar Jackson the first day
he's available, because they're not going to draft the time
to get a quarterback and Mac Jones isn't any good.
They still haven't done it, So I wonder has Belichick
lost his fastball and has the game kind of passed

(31:59):
him by? And maybe it's time for a new voice
in New England. Never thought I'd say it, but here's
where we are right now. Yeah, I mean this is
the test. Robert Kraft more or less said it right.
It was, you know, parsing out the words between the
meek mill drop and everything else you got going on
there was, Hey, we need to win. This is no
fun just being mediocre and being the butt of jokes,

(32:21):
right with the way you've constructed your staff and some
of them swings and missus and free agencies. So it's
a big, big year for Bill Belichick, as he says,
you're not playing football in March and that people if
they're looking for a reason to believe, he said, you
got twenty five years, like, well, the last couple haven't
been tremendous. They've been okay for coaching the roster that

(32:46):
you built, but you get an F for the roster
you built, how about that? Yeah? So yeah, the frustration
is there. You haven't made big side, you haven't done anything,
and I wonder if the game has passed them by,
and it's just you can't win like this anymore, and
you gotta get us star quarterback and you refusal to
do it. I mean, I wonder if this is the
year where Bobcraft is going to say, after this bill,

(33:06):
it's time for us to go our separate ways. We
need a new voice leading the Patriots. Now. Been a
great run, but everybody doesn't get to pick out how
they go out, and that's the case for him. Twitter
