Tirect dot com will help you get there an unmac selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, over ten thousand

(00:48):
recommended installers. Tirect dot com the way tire buying should
be well tonight. Right now, going on Major League Baseball,
bottom of the eighth inning, the Dodgers are putting a
beating on the San Francisco Joe Giants. It is nine
to one right now, Max Munsey, Babe Ruth another another
huge night against the San Francisco Giants. Is you heard

(01:09):
Steve de Sager say in a few minutes ago? Average
is a home run every thirteen at bats against Giants,
pitching tonight three for three, two home runs, including a
Grand Slam, and seven RBI. I'll tell you what. Nobody
is capable of tearing apart the Giants for five home
runs and eight RBI in a series and then striking

(01:31):
out five times against the Cubs more so than Max Munsey.
He is that guy. At what point do you just
stick it between his ribs at some point? Right? Well,
if he if he showed boating around the bases, he
got he's got to get one of these. But he's not. No,
he's lighting us up. That's excuse enough. Ah, just go
get the Cubs and he's striking or any other team

(01:52):
in the ribs. He'll strike out five times at a game.
It's get somebody for one of those teams. It's literally
any other team in any other stadium for a Golden
or if not a platinum, some prero. I mean Muncy
is hitting His night tonight has him up to a
buck ninety, you know, I mean, really, this is that's
what his night has he had. He has two home

(02:15):
runs tonight. Okay, in the season up until this point,
he had one home run. He's got seven RBIs tonight.
Up until tonight he had two RBI. So, I mean
this is this is when and Max Munsey's played every game,
He's played every game, He's knocked in two runs every years.
Tonight against the first game against the Giants, and suddenly,
hey man, look at me, I'm feeling great. That's Max

(02:35):
Muncy ballpark. Yeah, if you feel like you are Babe
Ruth and in that ballpark and when you're facing and
not now the Giants just have to come up with
some uniform, you know, kind of twists to trick him
just facing the Cubs or something in the batter so
like in the fan when Wesley Snipes is wearing his

(02:57):
Braves jersey under the Giants jersey, and you guys thought
that Shoho Tani was gonna get a lot of money.
Wait till the Giants off for Max Muncy a billion? Yeah,
just just to play there, man, home games only. Oh yeah, yeah,
that's it. Yeah, not playing on the road. On the road, dude,
or completely the ballpark. Or you find some kind of

(03:17):
len lease program where like let's say the Dodgers are
playing let's say they're playing like the Reds of the Marlins.
We're okay, we're gonna win this series. But there's another
team having a tougher series. They're playing the Giants, So
you loan Max Muncy out for that series. We'll loan
him out to the Brewers. The Brewers are playing the Giants,
and if hey, Max munchs, you go play for the
Brewers here to help us out. He was traded nineteen

(03:39):
times during the season and his three, three or four
more trades coming. He's traded for every road trip. That's
a hell of a loaner car. But all the stats
would be Dodgers because they would all right, the stats
would all go back to the Dodgers because it would
be helping the dog Except the strikeouts, well, we don't
do those. Well, he wouldn't have those, right, he wouldn't

(03:59):
have him against against anybody else. He's playing the Giants
all the time. So yeah, so Dodgers on top of
the Giants nine to one. Right now, that is the
final game going on a Major League Baseball along with
the Nationals and the Angels going to the ninth where
the Nationals on top of the Angels six to four.
One more day closer to show, Heyotani, Yeah, somewhere else

(04:21):
I saw a couple of photos of what the ballpark
looked like as they were getting things started. Oh buddy,
it is just the And that's the thing we've been
talking about all along. How many promotional days can you have?
All these there Showyotani will come out and wave to you.
Just keep him goes. They'll be lining up for pillows tonight.

(04:44):
So again again these games come into the end here.
Well depending is you know, it is the Nationals who
are not very good, so something could happen in the
ninth inning. But with the end of the Masters and
a lot of drama with brooks Kepka blowing a lead
to the ad for fifty four holes. But hey, to
be expected, right because live golfers play fifty four holes.
He was good for fifty four that he couldn't finish.

(05:04):
You know what that long day on Sunday, I mean
it'll get you. Yeah, it wasn't too long for John
rom wasn't too long enough for him. He one wasn't well.
He got to stalk him and Rom handled the slow
play of four hours and fifty minute. Can't lee a
little bit better? DJ, So a very successful rom com
on Sunday. Nicely done. He waited, just stalked him. But

(05:28):
won't you see that bet. By the way, there was
a guy that had a parlay and two legs were
already done and he had Kepka as the third and
he had one of those deal or no deal kind
of things. After Saturday's playing, how much could he have gotten?
He could have gotten twenty one thousand, So if he
kept good one and he just held the ticket, the
win was sixty grand. Okay, had twenty one k. And

(05:49):
then as the day started to unfold on Sunday, he
ultimately hit the plunger when it was worth fifteen Okay,
he got out of fifteen thousand on a five dollar bet.
A right, all right, it's not hey, that's not bad, right, right,
But it was one of those dealer no deal moments
to you, do you press your luck that you're gonna
get your your your sixty k? Instead he said, nope,

(06:09):
this is not playing in my hands, and maybe Kepka
would not have the stamina to back off the challengers.
He made the right move. He made the right move.
Yeah right, it worked out for him. I would have
held out for thirty grand to the top was Hey,
let'sen give me half and then we can do it
and close out that deal and I got thirty grand. Yeah.
See it's all the math for fifteen times, Jason, who
are you kidding? You would have had the mets on

(06:30):
the parlay and you would have lost. I would have said,
you get me a big mac meal right now, where
the fries or extra crispy, and you get to make
the big mack the way I like it. And then
we're talking. Now we got you were going full on, Signfield.
We got something going here, We got there going here.
Lifetime coffees, all take it, Lifetime coffee in a million dollars.
All right, great, all right, let's bring him in, bring
him in. But uh, the big topic elsewhere of hey

(06:52):
rom one and here's Brooks captain to live golfers. Tiger
Woods had to withdraw after the weekend got two long
too much golf in one day. The planner forchitis still
bother him. Tigers still trying to come back from his
car accident, and clearly he just wasn't made to be
able to make it through all four rounds of this tournament.

(07:13):
He talked afterwards about how he just doesn't play a
lot anymore, doesn't He never played a lot of golf,
and now he's playing even less. He doesn't get to
practice as much. He can't play as much because physically
his body can't take it. And it's very difficult because now,
for the first time, I can see the end of
Tiger Woods's playing career. All right. We didn't know what

(07:34):
it was going to be after the car accident. Would
he get back and that was a different thing. But
now that he's back playing, I can see the end
of his career. And if you're telling me how much
longer Tiger is going to play, I would say this,
He's not going to stick around if he physically can't
do it. He's someone that's always been about major's about achieving,

(07:57):
and he's not going to stick around and play if
he's missing the cut. If physically he can't make it
through four rounds of golf, it's not going to happen.
He's not gonna get out there and just have people
feel that. I mean, I was WoT where I felt
bad for him when he got out there this week,
and because I knew he wasn't he wasn't one hundred percent,
and I knew he'd have difficulty making it all the
way through, I felt bad that you know, this is
this is kind of how it happened ended for Tiger

(08:18):
this week. But Tiger's not going to be that guy
that sticks around and his boy. He's just a shadow
of himself. He can't play anymore. He can't make a cut,
and that's gonna be it when you combine the fact
that he doesn't play a lot of golf and now
he can't really play a lot of golf. He'll take
the rest of this year to try to round himself
into shape. And if you're talking about three more majors

(08:39):
where he has a tough time even making the cut,
even playing well, like look when he had a good
first round, Hey, Tiger Woods seventy four first round, he
was in fiftieth place. Okay, so let's realize that he
doesn't quite have the game anymore to think he's gonna
be around to win now. For majors, it's about being
around to make the cut. And is that something Tiger's
going to stick around for? So I would I would,

(09:01):
I would say this is gonna be Tiger's future. He
spends this year seeing how he can do and if
it's a down year for him, next year is going
to be his last year, and then he'll play one
more Masters and that's gonna be it. He'll he'll go
out at the Masters, which is where he came in
and announced himself with his big win in ninety seven
and when he became the biggest star on the planet,
and he'll go out and he's almost fifty years old.

(09:23):
But I would say the rest of this year and
next year might be a farewell tour like it might
be next year is it for me? And I'm gonna
do this because then I'm then I'm with Charlie playing
golf and doing whatever else he's going to do. He's
gonna stay active. He's gonna find some other way to
attack business like he attacked golf. He's gonna be like
Kobe in that way in which when he's done golfing, Okay,
now now see what I'm up to. Now see, I'm

(09:45):
gonna do other things because he has the money, he
still has the influence, he's a celebrity. He's going to
do that. But actually playing golf, he's gonna have a
rough time this year. Next year is gonna be the
farewell and maybe one more matters after that. I would
say if you, I'd say, we're gonna see him lay
in eight more majors at most, and it's the rest
of this year, next year and one more Masters, and

(10:07):
that's the end of Tiger's career. Yeah. My hope is
that he takes some time, however long it takes, to
get the body right right. We talk about what was
going on the last couple of years Held. We talked
about that with Kepka a bit in terms of physically,
you know, battling back from injuries and issues off the
course to get right. But with Tiger, we know the
car accident. We know all the details, at least from

(10:30):
the physical side. What transpired that day we may never know,
but we know that he almost lost his leg. We
know there were reports of last year while playing he
had screws in his ankle busting out and all that
kind of stuff. So trying to get right physically is there.
You know you got you And I think it was
the prevailing thing of here's the limping tiger and feeling bad.

(10:53):
You know, I was on the eye of the tiger man.
Let's go keep going. So as long as you're out there,
I don't get old. So selfishly I need him out there.
But that's what happens. I get that. But we're seeing
guys playing who are the third, the fourth, and fifth?
Phil Mickelson tied for second. Yeah, you may hate Phil,
you may not like Phill at all. I don't care.

(11:15):
Phil still getting after it with his sunglasses and be
in the villain and every day it's all good for me.
He could be twenty twenty three, it could be twenty thirteen,
it could be nineteen ninety three with philm Michelson playing. Well,
got us, same same guy getting after him. But I
look at Tiger and you know, for us on the outside,
there's the I don't want to see him go out

(11:35):
this way right, we're physically he's beaten down and and
it's a struggle, and but he made his twenty third cut. Well,
you know, is that what he's striving for? I don't know.
Has he reset his priorities to where obviously wants to
win there? I mean, clearly everybody plays competitively hoping for
one more glorious seventy two whole run. But you know,

(11:58):
if he's good with hey, I'm competitive, and this still
gets the juices flowing. I hope we see him for
a Ton. I hope that there's a little bit of
that switch that's flipped in his head to where it's like,
you know what, I'm still enjoying this every I still
get my flowers. All the kids are out there talking
about you know, they get to see Tiger. And I
mean that by the other golfers that are out there

(12:20):
citing him as an influence and everything else. That if
I can steal a couple of rounds here and there
as an observer, that I'm good with it. Right, There's
gonna be the struggles. There's gonna be a hell. I
can't lift one of my arms over my you know,
beyond flat. I try to go over the top and
I start screaming like a stuck pig. But it's the

(12:41):
idea that Tiger's still out there battling, and I hope
that there's still some more to that he's judicious with
what he chooses to do and that he finds his fulfillment.
If that means that, you know, from a physical standpoint,
that he's deciding that he's done, then I hope he
does it for him and he doesn't get bullied into
a decision one way or another like Da Costa signing

(13:03):
Odell Beckham Junior. Boom, there it is. I tie it
all together. Well, I hear you on the health thing,
but I mean he's not going to be healthy. We've
been talking, We've been talking about Tiger Woods getting healthy
since two thousands. No, I'm not saying where he's feeling.
You know, he can play, but but but how he's
good with it. Right, But if it's if this is
what it is, that maybe I make a cut, maybe

(13:24):
I don't. He's he's not gonna stick around and have
and have this be the lasting image of him not
being able to get it done. You know Brady Brady
walked away before he wrote Okay, I really don't want
to see if I can if I fall off the cliff.
I don't want to see that. Other guys are gonna
do that. Lebron will walk away before he falls off
the cliff, all the other guys will. Tiger as much
as he wants to win, he's gonna understand when I

(13:47):
just can't do it, and the competitiveness of him will
be I'm gonna do it as long as I can,
and when I can't, I can't do it, and and
I just I just don't see him failing like this
because of his health and hinuing to keep doing this.
He's done it for a long long time and now
to try to get back if he says, I don't
have the game anymore because he used to be able
to outdrive everybody. Now he can't. Everybody out drives him. Right,

(14:10):
You look at the Masters where you go low and
Tiger in the first day when he was health again,
he was, he was in fifty He had a decent day.
He was in fiftieth place. People are going five, six,
seven under. It's it's just his time has come and gone.
He got the last championship like Jack Nicholas getting his
eighty six Masters. He got that a couple of years ago.

(14:30):
I'd love to see you too, But I'm just sitting
here realistically, going for fifteen years. I've been talking about,
you know, Tiger Woods staying healthy. So it's just hard
for me to say, Okay, that's gonna come back, and
he's gonna eventually come. It's like you're wanting time, Mike Tyson.
Eventually he's gonna be No, it's not it's done. Mike
Tyson hasn't won a fight in six years. Whenever it
was and yet that's over. You're on the hangover of it.
See what I did there? That was well done. But

(14:50):
my point is not about victory. It's is weary if
he's comfortable still getting after it and that's all in
his brain and what he wants to do, or he
wants to hang around till Charlie he's there, and then
they can tag team people and just beat them down.
Oh yeah, well Charlie would play with Brawny and then
that's how that would go. Watch Twitter cross over for

Coming up next, we got the latest from the NBA
playing Round, a big bold prediction, and a big time

(16:17):
college football headline. Oh keep it right here. Fox. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show
with Mike Harman weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio ap Oh
We're stepping out with Joe Jackson. Du u u oh,

(16:37):
bouncy out. I'm on nay dun you go, dun hey,
stop singing meadhead, dunt dun duntu. Yeah, that's fighting words.
Dun dun dunt. I mean we got new tag team
champions at the WWE. You want to break that down
a little Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harman. Apparently no one wants listening

(16:59):
to Joe Jackson, so that's absolutely fine you Joe Jackson.
Aders Joe Jackson, he never heard of it. Hey, it's
a long lead up to stepping out tonight. We never
got there stepping out tonight. D d dune. I like
the police song from earlier, see it it all comes together.
It's a rich tapestry. I'll be wrapped up. So we

(17:24):
got a big NBA story coming up in a couple minutes.
But uh, this new tonight out of college football. If
you thought you have seen the last of Cliff Kingsberry,
you are wrong. Apparently he has found his way. Where
was he? Bora? Bora? Where Tahiti? Where was he when
he was all? I got fired by the Cardinals and
no one can find him. No one cared. And his
girlfriend was posting pictures from where where we're here's a

(17:46):
picture of my ass? Where Thailand? Where were they Thailand? Yeah,
they're damn in Thailand right now? Not no one can
find me. No one can find me. Well. Cliff Kingsbury,
according to many college football sources, is on his way
back as head coach of the Jet is on his
way back to college football as head coach of the

(18:08):
Alabama is on his way back to college football, where
he will be on Lincoln Riley's staff at USC working
with the quarterbacks. Cliff Kingsbury is on his way back
to work with Caleb Williams, future number one overall pick
in the NFL. A lot of help. Sure they You

(18:29):
know he only threw the ball five hundred times last year.
Kingsbury probably said, hey, I, there's like two or three
more chances you had to throw the football in those games.
I can get two or three more pass attempts out
of you where you don't do that pesky run the
football thing. Oh great, come help us out. So here's Kingsbury,
who has done pretty good job with quarterbacks. I feel
like this is this is Lincoln Riley addressing a strength

(18:51):
on the team because already the offense is pretty bleep
and good. Let's work on the defensive side of the
ball a little bit. But you bring Cliff Kingsbury in,
which means mainly this is what's gonna happen for USC.
They'll start out seven and oh, things are gonna seem great.
Then we're gonna get to the later part of the
year and they lose their last five games. So instead
of USC starting out like eleven and oh and losing

(19:14):
their last two, they'll win their first seven and they'll
lose their last five. That's that's pretty well done. Now
all our USC friends are losing their minds. I mean,
there's I don't know what to do with this because
you didn't need this right maybe during the coaches filming, like, oh,
here's a couple of Wow, if Caleb had gone here,
we would have, you know, really been up even more

(19:36):
early in games. I mean, I don't know you're finding
the efficiencies there or you're just helping out a buddy.
But to your point, yeah, the defense is where you
need the assistance. Go hire Wade Phillips away from the
the XFL, Go go find find one of those guys
to help that side of the ball. Because Cliff Kingsbury

(19:57):
coming in, don't I don't know what that really means. Yeah,
he's a wizard working with QBS and he's he's on
the comeback trail. And trying to roll back up. Is
this the spot that really allows him to showcase? Caleb
Williams is already great. Your offense is already great. Like,
what what does this do for his resume? I kept

(20:17):
him great, I didn't him Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I gotta work. I worked with another number one overall
pick in the NFL draft, but he didn't get any
worse with me. Look, has he backslid it all? No,
he's still the same guy. Look, I didn't screw him
up here. You're right, let's give click Cliff Kingsbury a
big deal. He could be our new head coach. Now,
let's bring that in for him. That's really kind of

(20:39):
where it's at. He's back in like for him, and
it's like, I get it. Southern California. You're around the
beautiful people, beautiful program. You get to work with the
best of the best on that side of the ball.
Lincoln Riley, Oh dude, he's so la fun. He's some people.
Some people are just New York or LA celebrities, right,
Like you see that about you know the celebrities that

(21:01):
love to live in New York and the celebrities, all
the actors that love to live in New York and
the ones that loved to live in Los Angeles and
the ones that love to live abroad. No, I live.
I live in London. Why because I do? Okay, great,
But Cliff Kingsbury is such an LA celeb right, like
you can see, Hey, here's a LA magazine or somebody
doing a spread on him. Here's his big palatial estate

(21:21):
in Beverly Hills or someplace really close or you know,
Thousand Oaks or somewhere. Here's where I live, and this
this is my lifestyle. He is such an LA celebrity guy. Man, No,
it's so good. Good for him, you know, good to
get back around the game. It's a little bit of buzz,
but you know, taken taken further, it is really that
examination of all right, you're you're piling on on the

(21:45):
part of your team that has already been supercharged, right
super over the top. Go find the defensive wizards throughout there.
This is gonna be okay, It'll be all right, Jason. Yeah,
he's Ryan Gosling from Crazy Stupid Life. So Ryan Gosling

(22:07):
getting dragged this past week because of the Wrinkles as
all the Barbie promos and who's who's David Lynnhagen? David
David David. I have no idea, But how long how
long till we get the living room selfie in his
new LA mansion. Oh, they're just gonna just gonna repurpose
the old one and make it look like this is
a house. Doesn't bring back the one where he was

(22:28):
getting ready for the draft. I mean, that's really all
you need to do. We have a tanking conversation to
have coming up in ninety seconds. It's a new tanking
conversation because it involves the Lakers. Wait what so here's
the thing. This is where we're gonna have a tanking
conversation with the Lakers. Uh? Is clear? The NBA sorry,
I mean the Timberwolves. Uh, with their decision to suspend

(22:50):
Rudy go Bear. Of course, Look it's not just Go Bear.
But when you talk about someone who is a big
time presence in the middle that would be able to
potentially lea slow down Anthony Davis, now that's not going
to happen right now, That's just not going to happen.
So you lose him because he throws a punch at
Kyle Anderson in a huddle on Sunday which is insane

(23:11):
enough as it is. You're also missing McDaniels, who was
going to be out because he fractured his hand because
he punched a locker when he got mad. So you're
talking about and missing Rudy Goberton, a guy averaging twelve
points a game, and a guy shooting about sixty percent
from the floor. Well, dude, and McDaniels being a good defender. Yeah,
so right, you lose two great defenders in this transaction.

(23:31):
This this should be a way to guarantee the Lakers
get into the playoffs. But here's the thing. Dan's committing
to the bit though. If you're McDaniels, Oh yeah, yeah,
did you order a code red? Well, I didn't tell
him to break his hand. Well, come on, maybe the
locker and said some things to him and he got
mad and he took matters into his own hands. Wow,
it's just spilled over. That could be what happened, could
be made. The locker wouldn't open for most of the year,

(23:52):
and he finally just got sick of it. And I'm
gonna get back at you. We're gonna start punching a
baseball bat like you were doing the meat head guy
and Yeah, that would be to go less injuries happen
if you hidden at him an object with something team,
a man stands alone in a plate in front of him.
What a team. But this is the deal with tomorrow.

(24:14):
The Lakers are going to win. It's gonna because Bakers
are back. The Lakers are playing extremely well. And I've
told you for a while now. Congratulation to other people
who are who are getting this take now, is that, Hey,
a team like the Lakers can with the changes they've made,
make noise for a while, but then eventually their age
and their injury situation is going to catch up with them.

(24:36):
It's why it's hard to pick Phoenix, even though with
KD Boy, they look like they could be unbeatable. Can
you really rely on Kevin Durant to be there for
the entire playoffs? Older teams the way the playoffs go now,
you just can't count on them all the way through.
And Chris Paul, who knows how long is he going
to be able to play at a high level. It's
gonna happen for the Lakers, But for right now, Yeah,

(24:57):
they're playing with energy. They're new backcourt combo is terrific.
They kind of lucked into with Lebron being out, Well,
we'll start Austin Reeves. Oh wait, we should been doing
this all season long because D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves
are pretty good. Right. You got a D playing like
a D like the dominant ad from earlier in the season,
which is awesome, and you have Lebron back with a

(25:19):
buy in because when he was out, it was I
don't know when I'm coming back. Don't tell me when
I can come back. I'll come back when I'm good
and ready. And when the reaction was stay out, we
don't need you. Oh wait a minute, wait a minute,
wait a minute. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, hang on,
hang on, hang on. So let me come back and
play so I can make it look like we're back
and making a run because of me. Like that's basically

(25:40):
what Lebron saws that I no longer have the cache
that I have with the Lakers, because now fans, media,
the team, if I move on, I move, They're okay
with it. Right there, he moves on after this year,
everybody is okay with that. Not where he thought and
how he thought it was going to play out. So
now you have a Lebron who's bought back in. You
got Rui Hachimura now coming off the bench. He has
settled into his roles and a double digit guy the

(26:02):
last four games. So the Lakers are pretty dangerous. But
if you're looking for them moving on, I hate the
matchup against the Grizzlies. Right if they win tomorrow, they
get the Grizzlies, And I hate that now, I hated, hated,
hate it because the Grizzlies are young, they're playing well,
and they will eventually run the Lakers out of the
building in a series. But you play the Nuggets and

(26:22):
suddenly that's a little bit different. The Nuggets are not
playing well. Michael Malone had to challenge them about playing better.
The Lakers gave them all they can handle in the
previous game they played. This Lakers Nuggets matchup is a
lot closer than you think. And if the Lakers wind
up playing the Nuggets, I'll pick the Lakers to move on.
I'll take the eight one upset with the Lakers over
the Nuggets because they could do a short period of time. Yeah,

(26:44):
I love the Lakers in that series. But Lakers and
the Grizzlies, I think it's just too difficult. The Grizzlies
have too many players, young players that can do a
lot of things really well. Jaron Jackson one of the
best defensive players in the league now, Desmond Baines of
great number two to John Morand who has been playing really,
really well. It's just gonna be too much. So honestly,

(27:06):
we better off for the Lakers if they lost tomorrow
and then won the next game and got it in
the eighth seed. So I'm not saying Tank, but if
it's better off for you to play the one seed
than the seven Sea, now you would have to live
with a lot of embarrassment for a couple of days
where it's how do we not beat the Wolves without
Rudy go Bear? How do we not beat them? How
do we not beat them? At Oh? I don't understand,

(27:28):
But you in the next seam, Okay, we're in. We're in. Honestly,
I think it's a better matchup with the crazy I
think it's better than Nuggets and the guy. I think
you want to avoid the Grizzlies, man, And in an
NBA where clearly you can do things like this and
not have to worry about anything more than it's a
five hundred thousand dollars. Fine, great, we'll take the finest.
Fine'll pay you. I don't really give a crap an NBA.
When you can do that, hey, maybe maybe that's the

(27:50):
best course of action, is to not win tomorrow and
win your next game. Wow, look at you now, you're
just calling for all sorts of chaos, and I love it.
You love chaos. You can't disagree with me because you
love chaos, because that's n have had it. That's kind
of living dangerously. Of course, you know, the guys get
all sensitive if you were to bring that up. It's like,

(28:12):
so you put the crowd on your head and then
you went and dropped a game where go Bear and
McDaniels were unavailable. I explain that to me, Talk to
me like I'm five. Yeah, Like I said, it would
be hard. It would be hard to defend that loss
for a couple of days. It would really, because it's
you only played eighteen minutes and you look like you

(28:33):
were happy and talking about dinner plants. You allowed Tom
Googliotta to go for thirty Come on, man, the guys
and blades In's nineteen ninety nine, How did you allow
that to happen. Anthony Davis takes a dive. Jason, your
logic is crazy. I don't like you not making any sense.
What are you talking about better than the Grizzlies right now?

(28:57):
I don't know that they are. So if the Nuggets
are better better than the Grizzly, well the standings say
they are this day. But which team is better doesn't matter.
You're not playing going it's all matchups, don't well, it's
all matchups. Base. The Lakers are back. They'll bleep and
beat anybody, so it doesn't matter. It doesn't take a picture.
Their took that and I was dribbling up court and

(29:18):
I just lobbed the finals. Ye look, I lobbed it
and Frostbering went flying in final. Duke losing tomorrow night
on purpose. Okay, they'll come in there and fight you
right now, get on. The Lakers are back, Okay, I
remember that one Sun boy, the Grizzly boy. John Morant's

(29:39):
averaging a triple double and it's three zip already, and
Lebron is if he for even showing up to the
arena for games if they lose. I know, oh man,
I'm telling you, they not only they lose. They lose
the tables by like twenty and it's never even close. Well,
Broun just hitting the side of the backboard, Roger broke

(30:00):
his hand hitting a locker. Und Hey wait a minute, Hey,
so there's no Gobert. They're playing Al Jefferson. Come on, man,
we got to be able to score here. Stole my move,
you know. That's what mctio twitter and out about a
fresca Mike had swallowed on The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend mccarmin. So I'm not saying tank, but

(30:24):
you kind of just did. Man. Yeah, that's in somebody's world.
Maybe I did say it, But in Mark Cuban's world,
I didn't tank, so that I would just say Mark
Huban doesn't think that that stay. Here's the thing, right,
You're losing a bunch of your your best defenders with
read Out and now McDaniels and Gobert, but you still
have Edwards in town who might be out of towns
who might be able to give you enough to challenge

(30:46):
and and make it interesting. I don't know the potential
for chaos is there now? The tanking that you described you,
Adam Silver would never even look their way. You know,
he hates Mark Cuban, but the Lakers would they could
do what they want. Twitter and out about a Fresco
Mike and Swollen Dome. The Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike, You're Crazy. Coming up next, I have

(31:09):
to give big time credit to something that I can't stand.
But I have to give a credit because I have
no choice, but I gotta. That's next right here, Jason
and Mike from the tirect dot Com Studios. Fox. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show

(32:14):
from the tire Rack dot Com Studios, where I gotta
give something credit. I really do. I get. It's a
good night to do it. Look, the NBA is off
tonight after we wait for the playing round to begin tomorrow.
Oh yeah, you're already calling for the Lakers to tank,
lak a taking play so you can play the Nuggets.
You don't want to play the Grizzlies. Be careful, prospects
are gonna come in GLUELEI yeah, you watch your tongue.

(32:36):
But you you know, you know how I feel about
the World Baseball Classic. You know my feelings of that. See, yeah,
you loved every part of it. Yeah, see Daz Comma Edwin.
I did not like the WBC. Um, I do have
to give the WBC credit for something really, really big. Normally,

(32:58):
the NBA season begins ends with a very big flourish
right we it's a celebration of the game. The Wreckers. Look,
the regular season and of itself has become way less important,
but we still enjoy the specter and the spectacle of
the games. And when the NBA season begins, it's really
not Opening Night, it's like opening month because we see
all the matchups we want to see in the first

(33:19):
month that we see the stars for the first time,
and oh, here's the first buck Sixers game, and here's
the first Lakers Clippers game. We and oh, oh wait, hey,
we're getting a treat because we're getting the Nuggets and
the Celtics, you know, the first week, and it's a
celebration of the game. We see the great teams, we
see the matchups we want, and the first month of
the season is awesome. They always jump in that way,
and it's great. Baseball has started the exact way this year,

(33:43):
and it never starts like this, right Baseball, Oh, we
have baseball gonna start Baseball No, because of the World
Baseball Classic, Baseball started on an upswing. And the way
the season has begun, it's begun with a lot of
attention and a lot of storylines and a lot of
rell and see you see baseball being covered a lot more,
whether it's on sports talk radio, on TV, on talk shows.

(34:06):
Because it's a hot thing, and let's be honest, we
talk about what's hot. We like to talk about everything's
hot that would you want to listen to, and certain things.
We talk about what's hot, and right now baseball is hot.
It would not be this hot off the start of
the season if we weren't coming off of the great
World Baseball Classic that we saw as much as I
don't like it. As much as I don't like because
again I don't like the guys getting hurt. When my

(34:28):
guy gets hurt, I don't like it. I understand that
the World Baseball Classic has been big and huge from
Major League Baseball. The players all love it, they love
playing in it. And I can't believe we're not at
a point where the WBC is saying, hey, so why
every four years, why not once every three years or
once every two years. Why can't we two players like it?
Everybody likes it, it's doing well, it's a big thing

(34:48):
for baseball. We start out great, Oh why not every
couple of years. I'm surprised we're not at that point.
I know we're always saying all the next WBC twenty
twenty seven. Really gonna have to wait that long. We're
not gonna play in twenty twenty six, Time player, because
that you know that's going to happen. They're gonna say,
why do we have to play every for just because
the World Cup is every four years? We made this
thing up like fifteen years ago, so yeah, why not

(35:11):
We're gonna make it every three years because or every
two years because we feel like it every other year
is gonna be a World Baseball Classic. And that would
be how Major League Baseball continues to push the game
because I see the impact it has, and I see
the number of storylines in the relevancy Baseball's had over
the first couple of weeks, and that's kind of what
we have so for we're talking about the Rains who
haven't lost a game, and look how good some of

(35:32):
these other teams are. And really it's been some kind
of jump for Major League Baseball right off the bat,
and it's all because of coming off the World Baseball Classic. Yeah,
I think you got a convergence of a couple of things,
numbers that Steve's given us in the updates tonight talking
about shaving a half hour off of games, more activity
on the base paths. Dodgers are gonna have to worry

(35:54):
about that all year. Sorry, Frostburg. The teams, get them on,
get them over, get them in. They're gonna be running
on them unless those guys and start figuring out how
to throw people out. But you're looking at, you know,
the activity on the base paths, no shift, shorter games.
The stars played in big way and contributed in big
ways in the World Baseball Classic. We've got Mike Trout

(36:15):
actually talking a little bit more right, some more little
insights to who he is or whatever, which is good.
I don't know if it's the direct reaction and urging
or if he just decided it was time in his
life to do a little bit more. He's been active
with trading card companies and all this other stuff and
be in building his own collection and giving a little

(36:35):
bit of his personality as to what he's doing there.
So it's it's fun for the game. You know, you've
got your Mets with a huge Scherzer outing White Sox
give up a lot of home runs. They're gonna hit
a lot of home runs. He got these young stars,
your guy like Julio Rodriguez that people are excited to
see what he's able to do. Kell Nick's hitting three hundred.
Look at that. I know okay with that, because I

(36:57):
picked the Mariners to go to the World Series. I'm
actually know that in as much as you wanted to
disparage him, there he is. He had a big home
run tonight and they lost. So you know, the worst
scenario for me. But well, but you know, our people
in Seattle all hate you, and that's okay. Yeah, you
can never go there again. No, it's true. It's one
of many cities. Put it. Put the h the pin
in the board on the map there for Seattle. But

(37:19):
it's it's all of those things come together. Baseball Classic
was a good start, and now you bring it into
the regular season and some of those data points of
activity and runs being up and all of that is
great unless you really were hoping your pitchers were gonna
come together. Because bullpen management and bullpen efficiency has been

(37:39):
absolutely deplorable through the first couple of weeks of the season.
I'll tell you some of those things are just problems
that everybody deals with. But man, I Baseball would say,
we want to sign up for this beginning of the season.
All the time. Right, we taken care of pace of play.
We have World Baseball Classics so far, everything they've done,
whether it's popular or not, whether some people look I

(38:00):
love speeding up the game. I hate the WBC. Some
people like the WBC hate the speeding up of the game.
They're both working, so all right, it happens. It's working.
Oh I hate the World Baseball Classic works. I hate
that it worked. Twittering out about a fresca Mike has
swollen down The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
