Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
How can we be both be the number one pick?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
It's just in alternate realities. There's when I'm the number
one pick, when you're the number one pick, when Frostburg's
a number one pick, when Ty Shirt's a number.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
One pick, different earths. Yes, we're now into the flash
and all the different universes.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah, yes, you're in a universe where Michael Keaton is
still Batman.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I always was.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Okay, we'll stopped for a long time. Remember they had
like seventeen different guys, didn't matter. I Cutberry another man,
mister Bruce. I buried fourteen Batman's. There was so many Batman's.
There was the guy.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
From you just dipped away from Batman all together and
just went straight to Michael.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Here's so many Batman's because my master, Bruce. I can't
bury another Batman.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
So many he is the best Alfred, isn't he with.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
That pointy little ears and and and capes and cowls.
I can't bury another Batman.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
But think about it if they had matched him up
with Keaton. I mean that you can't stop that?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Well, yeah, no disrespect to Michael Ghosts. Yeah yeah, okay, okay,
you could Andy Serkis.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I don't get it. I keep waiting for him to
run lines from from all the.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Other movies, or or he's Caesar.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
You know, he's either Caesar, or he's uh Sniegel or
or he's he's trying to get some vibrating.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I'm not sure. I can't no Batman, there's no vibrant.
It's the DC universe. Mister wait, I can't bury another Batman.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
I don't murder.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I thought George Clooney was gonna kill the Batman franchise,
and he absolutely murdered it for a long time. Miss Dwayite,
I cut there. We're broadcasting live from the ti rag
dot com studios, tyrec dot com. Will up you get there?
An unmatched election, fast free shipping free road has protection
over ten thousand recommended installers tyrack dot com. The way
tirebuying should be. Well, a couple of big things happening

(02:21):
right now. Well number one is the Met Gala. And
really there should be some kind of Mets presence at
the Met Gala, right You might be you know, the
Mets play today at home. They could send a couple
of guy Pete Lonzago there modeling some kind of polar
Bear type outfit. Lindor could be there. I mean, if
it's the Met gallon, I get bear sure some kind
of meat outfit or something. I got a bunch of

(02:44):
guys that can't pitch, so you might as well throw
them out on the regulus and that you can't pitch yet,
can you get out there and just just look good
for a little bit? Great?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Thanks, Yeah, I figure we need to cause we can
evaluate that. My kids are giving me a full evaluation
right now.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Apparently Anne Hathaway's dress is U is the I'm not
surprised at that.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
She's kind of a big deal, a long long fan,
and she was also.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Catwoman missed Away always You've always had a soft spot
for Catwoman missed the Way, and she's always bad for you.
It's it's the best.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
It never ends. Well, no, no, did you that's yesterday
on my time wine multiple times and I don't know why.
The Julie Newmar and Adam West exchange where she's like, well,
you could marry me and make me, uh turn away
from a life of crunk cats and he was like, nah,
it ain't gonna work.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
The bat and the Cat's never gonna work.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
She's gonna have to kill. Robin is like, we gotta
make it get anything, have to kill kill. He goes, yeah,
that's not gonna work.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Boy, wonder Come look over here. I see you're not
ready to turn away if I can't see Batman and
Catwoman the life of domesticity, unless it's like Batman just
sitting at home every night oblivious and cat It just
goes out every night, does whatever she wants to, comes home.
At the end of the night, he's sitting in up
smoking jacket, you know, reading a magazine in front of

(04:07):
the fire. How is a night, dear? Oh it was awesome.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I went out and I stole some jewels. I let
these guys on this huge chase. Oh my goodness, it
was And I wore the big skin tight outfit that
you like me to wear.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
That's nice, dear. Okay, I'll be up in a few minutes.
All right, I'm gonna go take a shower. Oh boy,
this is up. All right. We have all the all
the alarm set, yes, dear. Yeah, because they may have
followed me back here, don't worry. I can know it.
I got the costume right over here. If I need
to come out and help you, I can do it.
I'll be up in a few minutes. Okay. And he
starts methodically turning everything off, turning all the lights off,
takes the dog out for one more time, comes back inside.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Either that or it's you know, she's going and stealing
from from folks that he's He's giving them the jewels,
so they're coming back into the house.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Every day I sit here, someone shows up in the
house going, she's stolen my family jewels. What am I
supposed to do?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's all about the jewels, Betty, And yes, Ann Hathaway's
dress for the win, so right now in the very playoffs,
Jamal Murray following up that huge Game one with six
points two for fourteen from the floor, zero for nine
from three point range, but the Nuggets have the lead

(05:20):
over Phoenix eighty four eighty.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
One with just under four minutes left to play. This
had been a Phoenix lead for the most part, but
now Denver has reeled Phoenix in. What's one of the
reasons behind it gets into a big topic about the
NBA playoffs. As Chris Paul has left the game earlier
with growing tightness, Phoenix had no no I know, shock right,
Chris Paul gets hurt going up for rebound underneath immediately

(05:46):
grabbed it. As Groin came out of the game, he's
not coming back in. So now Chris Paul is out
with growing tightness. You look at the NBA playoffs and
going into it, what was the big conversation we had.
It was about tanking, right, look at the team's thanking.
The Dallas Mavericks decide we would rather just not be
in at all and wait for the draft and keep

(06:07):
our protected draft pick. What we've seen so far in
the NBA playoffs right, just even from tonight, Right, the
Suns were supposed to be great, but now here's an
injury to Chris Paul that might wind up derailing their
season because now they were up by eight, now they're
down by five. They can go down to zip the
Sixers without Joel Embiid, but they were still able to

(06:28):
find a way to win and beat the Celtics tonight.
We have that injury upon injury this postseason and at
the end of the regular season. This is now the
new normal in the NBA because the way the game
has gone, We're still gonna play eighty two games and
it doesn't matter. It's too much. It's too much basketball.
Even if guys play sixty five games a year, it's
too much. It's too much in the playoffs. It's now

(06:51):
a certainty that every team is going to have to
deal with injuries throughout the playoffs. The Bucks had to
deal with Giannis being hurt. They never really recovered from it.
The Knick's now without Julius Randall for Game one, maybe
game two now, maybe not, Jalen Brunson for Game two.
The Heat trying to get by without Tyler Hero, all
of these teams trying to figure something out without players

(07:12):
who are injured. The Clippers coming in, no Kawhi Leonard,
how could they Nope, They're out of the playoffs. There's
no better argument against tanking than these playoffs. Right now,
What the playoffs have become because it used to be
in the NBA, if you were a seven or eight seed,
you weren't getting around. Once in a while, could you
pull an upset, Yeah, but the teams at the top
of the conference were too good for you. They were

(07:33):
too deep, and you weren't gonna get by Because you
weren't gonna go win a round and then another round,
another round.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
It didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
You can't get hot and win in the NBA playoffs,
at least you couldn't do it. But now that this
has become a thing, the NBA playoffs is a crapshoot
because you could look like the greatest team in the
world going in. But if your stars, one of your
stars gets hurt in Game one or suddenly, hey, guess what,
he can't play in Game one or Game three or
game five, you can win that series and you can

(08:01):
move on. Nobody thought that Heat could do anything. You
at the Heat say hey, watch out for the Heaton
Jimmy Buckets and playoff Jimmy Butler. Okay, now they're an
eight seed that has a one game to none lead,
and if they win tomorrow, they're probably going to the
Eastern Conference Finals. You have the Lakers who are a
seven seed. Are they even gonna get out of the
playing run? Here they are now and they're one series
away from moving on to the Western Conference Finals. There

(08:21):
is no better argument against tanking because seven seeds, eight seeds,
ten seeds can now get in the playoffs and potentially
get to the NBA Finals because everybody has to deal
with injuries. Now you don't know, maybe your team deals
with an injury and it's your team that gets hit.
But for lower teams, instead of worried about tanking and
getting the offseason, try to get in the playoffs and
maybe you get hot and you get a good matchup

(08:43):
and another team is missing their star player. We're watching
stars fall all the time. Now you've seen the one
seed go home in the East. You've seen higher seeds
go home. Now in the West, and look where we are.
Look at some of the teams that are left. This
is the biggest art. It's all the NBA should do
against tanking is going look at the playoffs. You can
do it. Be what Adam Silver tells all the.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Teams, you can do it.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
You can do it.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Meanwhile, they should also find those other teams in Texas
for the direk that they put out this year, but
that put out trash.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I'm giving you all. Yeah, that's a good liner.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
I'll just stay silent next. No, no, I you say
something I think is entertaining, I'm just not gonna say anything.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Truth bomb for Adam Silver, your guy, your guy who
went after the Mavericks because they didn't want to be
part of his playoff.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
That would have been better, would have helped you.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
But I don't understand the sometimes the vocal inflections, whether
you're dismissive of what I'm saying or your supporting going.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
If I was dismissing an idiot, what the hell are
you talking about?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
That's what's wrong with you? Now you're talking.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I was helping you know, it's good. Now do it yourself.
Smart guy to build a board and my own going
it with your co Wait, so you're gonna have you
give your.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Opinion, and then I'm gonna sound that's I mean, I
can alter it a little bit, so it's not necessarily
one hundred percent me, but it's in my cadence and
in my.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
It's easier if I just do it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
I don't know that's true. It's I don't want to
program a four hundred things soundboard.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Better if I just went ah, it would have been better.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
That would have been better.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
That's good. But now you're smarty. No, I'm always smart.
I've always been gonna question everything. You say, You're gonna
everything I don't, Yes, you will. I don't question everything
and everything I do outside the studio. This is only
four hours in my life that.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I don't question. No, I think.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
I think you're gonna hide decision making and all the
things in the rest of my life, opportunities lost, opportunities missed.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I heard the.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Decision making in our in our NFL draft, oupen you
have bad decisions.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Oh, it's all over the place, four hours a night. No,
you know it.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
What's the top of the world. You don't suddenly just
go from being wrong all the time to being right. No,
once that door closes and the lights go on. I mean,
it's a work of brilliance, the excellence of elocution every night.
There's no question about it.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
But your point about injuries, well take it, and it's
it's one of those things that you're trying to figure
out the study of it and seeing if you can
legitimately find data that gets to an endpoint. Because we
talk about starting pitching all the time in Major League Baseball.
How nobody can go past five or six innings anymore?
I saw I think it was the anniversary of a
Nolan Ryan no hitter, right, his seventh, either yesterday or

(11:42):
today every other day as an anniversary of Nolan Ryan knows,
but he kept showing hup in my timeline, right because
he's old as sin as he's throwing his seventh no hitter.
And it was always about, well, if I pitched a
lot of innings, I was stronger in August and September. Go, figure,
my body was built up for these moments. And with
the NBA playoffs, you've got two months a basketball and

(12:05):
most of these guys that you mentioned that have gone
out injured missed at least two months of basketball during
the regular season. Here go, it stands to logic that
with those injuries, they're not coming back full strength or
anywhere close, and that another injury is gonna go. You
got groin injuries, well, Chris Paul groin injury? What are

(12:26):
they always attribute that while you're not in shape? So
there you go. It's one of those difficult propositions for
the league to navigate going forward. Last man's standing wins,
which is fun except for your knicks, which you don't
have them.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Sorry, See, all of what you just said would have
been better if I had said, Oh but no, I was.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Really just waiting for you to take a second and
then do a reading.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Twitter it out about a fresco. Mike gets swallen up
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmet. That
would have been better with it all, And I'm a
smart guy now, I know it.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
I know it.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
It looks like it's going to be the Nuggets up
to sip. They are up ten with just under two
minutes left to go. We'll have more on this end.
More on James Harden's heroic night, Why you shouldn't expect
this well anymore from James Harden. That's coming up next
right here, Jason and Mike, this is Fox Sports Radio. Oh,

(13:26):

That's tirack dot com, slash sports, tirack dot com the
way tire buying should be. And I heard that nixt
thing Frostburg. You just wait. What for you guys to

(14:28):
get sweat? I mean unless they lose tomorrow and then
I'm not coming in. Is Aaron Rodgers gonna show up again?
That's what's important. Just remember that's what's important. He again,
photo he loses again, there's no games. Oh those were
good photo ops. Did you see the smiling at the camera.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah, what a tool.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, it gets hurt, Zach. It's really key in your
car if that happens. Now, if you put that out
in the universe and I'll key Justin Herbert's car and
I'll tell them you did it. I'll put a note, say,
from Justin Froz radio producer, I can't believe you suck

(15:06):
so bad on Sunday with those three picks.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Wow, bad escalating, Quickly send that one to Don Martin.
My man, you can't do that to a star quarterbacks. Quarrel, Right,
what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon. Before we get to the heroics of
James Harden, it's over in Denver. The Nuggets have a
two games to non lead. They beat the Sun's ninety
seven eighty seven Nikola Jokich thirty nine points and sixteen boards,

(15:52):
making up for Jamal Murray's ten points on three of
fifteen shooting. And I want to say he was walking
off the floor or and it looked like he just
did the Angel Reese ring thing like like, but I
couldn't tell. That's what I'm being honest. I couldn't tell
what it was. But he was doing something just like that,
like out of you like, I think they showed it.

(16:12):
He had a broken finger, Well, broke well, that's a story.
That's a story. No, I think they were showing because
you know, here in the studio we can't hear what's
being said. But it looked like they were showing his
wife and kid and they were waving to him, and
they cut to him really fascy. It looked like he
was doing the ring thing.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Yeah he did. Yeah, he's pointing to his ring finger.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
He wants smiling at playoffs unless he's wants to get married.
Did you say, I mean maybe he's not married. They're
gonna get married. I mean you can't.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
He's married.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
You can't ask for a ring.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
He's married. He has a kid, and he has a
sulky that he rides in when he celebrates awards. But
does he buy a second horse and a second sulky
when he uh, if he were to win a title,
Like is.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
He doing the ring thing? Because they announced m v
P tomorrow and he couldn't do anything else. But I
mean there's that, I guess I mean, was he I
mean it looked like that's what he was doing.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Now that's it. I mean, look at the video. It's
clear as day he's pointing at he's doing.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
He's doing the ring thing. I mean, he's it's the
second round.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
That usually ends well when guys starts in the second round.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Is I think the second round?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I mean, how do you did you see how I carried.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
You all today?

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Yeah, we're getting a ring.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
I do like that that.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Jamal Murray was the guy holding the ball as they
let the twenty four second shot clock run out, like yeah,
I'm here, look at what we're winning, Like, yeah they
want in spite of you, dude. Uh, by the way,
great great effort from the rotation of the suns. Chris
Paul goes out, you know how much bench scoring they
got today? Four points.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Far, that's not a lot of points. Not a lot
of points. Jyson.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
I thought they're never gonna lose with Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Uh, well it's not over.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
I mean Denver only had eleven from the bench, not
a robot.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, I'm you know, watching this again now with Jokic,
it looks like his kid is doing some kind of
clap where his kid is right hand like smacking it
into into the left hand kind of like it and
pointing like pointing into the po the right pointer finger

(18:21):
pointing into the palm of the left hand. And that's
what it looks like. Yokic is doing better and hold
you in.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
All biblical.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Jokich is, Yes, we're gonna we're doing songs from Godspell
pretty good. It looked like that's what he's doing. He's
pointing to the palm of his left hand with his
pointer finger like Yokic is doing that back to his
kid like that, So he's not doing the ring. He's
doing pointing to his palm. It looks like a palm point.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Ring is a better story though. Disrespect to the kid
and whatever whatever their bond is there. You know, I'm
all big on the you know, whoever with your with
your kid, take the time, take the time to be
a dad today.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Hey, look, by the way, the weights did have it
on their minds from Jesus Christ Superstar of their last tour.
So I mean you can get a little of that
into your rock shows.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Okay, all right, glad you can.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
And maybe into your sports. Maybe that's really what they
were doing.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Yeah, no, it could be.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
You never know.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah, I never no idea.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Maybe he's saying, hey, I want to watch Lord of
the Rings now home when we get home tonight, and okay,
we'll watch Lord of the Rings.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Seeing full Circle we will go back to and we're
talking about to watch the Ring when I get home.
I don't want the kids watching that because that kid's
what like three?

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Yeah, that would be cool.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
I don't know. I don't know. My kid would probably
ask that. Maddy would have asked.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Maybe sure, that's you know, that's one of those I
always thought like, if it was real, boy, that would
be awesome, Like, actually see somebody crawling out of your
television set like that would be pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Well, it's it's like really t wonk a vision to
a whole other level.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Yeah, and you know you showed your kids Midsummer when
they were like when they were like nine years old.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Oh, she wasn't that young. It's not that old.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
How old?

Speaker 3 (20:10):
I don't know, twelve, Yeah, it's way too young to
watch the World's a Hard place.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Well, some areas in Sweden are particularly harsh.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Damn it, chee chety one happened. She never watched the
Good Place the same way again.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I mean, I really would have been such a great thing.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
As the gable guarding early.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
You just look at it a whole different way. Or yes, gitty, Hey,
how'd you wind up in the good Place?

Speaker 6 (20:37):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (20:37):
I went to Sweden with some friends. It didn't work
out well, that would have been hilarious. I didn't work
out well.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
My foot, But it's timing planted in the ground for
some reason. Now, if they'd been able to, you know,
do it one of those reboots where it's they were
starting over from how did you end up here? Like, well,
then you could have written that line in. But I
don't think Midsummer came out until that was about done.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah, no, I think it was it. Yeah, it was
at the end. Was at the end, I mean it
was enough. They got They got Blake Bortles in as
much as they did, so that was way Bortles. We
just need some offense defense and some rule changes, right,
so outside of tonight, we'll have more on this game
coming up in a few minutes. The heroics of James
Harden in the Sixers win over the Celtics tonight forty

(21:21):
five points, including this three that was the dagger for
the Sixers to win without Joel Embiid.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
Fifteen seconds to go, Horford has him out top James
with a triple. Harden one on one, nine seconds on
the shot clock, Harden for three. Shut up, it's good.
Harden made a triple. The Sixers go up by two,
eight seconds to go.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Sixers Radio Network on the call. The Celtics would lose
the ball out of bounds, they would make free throws,
the Sixers would, and they win it by four. And
they take Game one without Joel embi Now let me
say this tomorrow they are gonna war. The MVP is
Joel Embiid still the MVP hev before without him? How

(22:07):
big of an MVP is he?

Speaker 3 (22:09):
I'd like to change my vote.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
But Harden goes for forty five. And what impressed me
the most about him, Yes, he had the big three
at the end, he had forty five points, but watching
him in the last three minutes of regulation, because you
would think, and the Celtics clearly thought this. These shots

(22:32):
are all going to be James Harden. Like who else
is gonna make Like Max? He's a good player. But
here you are at the end, it's a close game.
Harden's gonna take these shots. And James Harden found a
way every single time the Sixers had the basketball in
the final two and a half three minutes to get
the ball to the right teammate for either a basket
or free throws. He didn't take a shot until the

(22:53):
final eight seconds when he took that three. Every other
time he had the ball, he would have Celtics players
chasing him. He would find guys for big buckets. He
would find guys that would get foul and go to
the free throw line. He was absolutely masterful. I mean,
this was James Harden's best game as a Sixer by far,
his best game in a long time. And it's not

(23:14):
even close. Now that being said, don't expect it every game.
This is not James Harden suddenly is turning into James
Harden and look out, oh he's this guy. No, the
Sixers had a long layoff. Harden had a long time
to rest. He is an older player. We have seen
the player he has been over the course of the
past year and a half with Philadelphia. He is a facilitator.

(23:35):
He'll score twenty points a game. He's still terrific, but
he's not the superstar he was. This was a game where, Hey,
once in a while, coming off of rest, I can
give you a game like this. Don't expect it again
because now in a day, is he gonna come back
and be this spry right, No, he's not. That's why
they need Joellen bid back in here. But for one game,

(23:57):
this was Hey, this is a throwback to what James
Harden used to be able to do almost on a
nightly basis five years ago. Now he can't. He's older,
he's in a different spot in his career. We get it,
and he's not lied to us. And I can still
do it, but I don't feel like doing it. But
once in a while he can give you a game
like this. And this is what went on with the Sixers.
And this is bringing my big time fear to the

(24:21):
front of prominence that the Sixers. This is the year
they're gonna wind up winning big in the playoffs and
we're gonna have to hear them talking about it all
the time. We have the MVP, we have two MVPs.
James Hardin's everything. The Sixers do, respect us, respect us,
respect us, and this is gonna be the year. Finally,
it's a crazy ass year in the playoffs that the

(24:43):
Sixers are gonna actually win games and validate. We have
to hear Embiid and Harden and Doc all throughout the
playoffs talking about how great they are.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
All right, first off, Giannis is gonna win the MVP,
and then he's gonna say, see, I'm not a failure.
I have this trophy.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Oh honest, congratulations on the MVP. Is this season of
failure going out in the first round despite the fact.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Now that you have this hard word, does it sting
a little more that you're no longer playing this?

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Does the season become more of a failure because you
actually won the MVP this time? Again? What do I
think of my performance?

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Performance? But yeah, I mean you saw some absolutely inane
plays down the stretch, Marcus Smart, you had the foul
on Tatum. I want to show you what what I
just pulled up the shot chart for the fourth quarter.
You didn't have a but one shot from the Celtics
in the fourth quarter. That was outside the free lane

(25:38):
that they hit and they give up a twelve point lead.
No Joel Embiid Celtics dominating in the interior doesn't matter,
can't hit from their few shots from the outside, and
James Harden special, they take care of the basketball. They
hit their free throws and for one night we mentioned it,
April twenty second was their last game. It's an awful

(25:58):
lot of.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Time to just it around, watch TV dancers, to watch dancers.
He's going to watch.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
But like leisure of the activity, I mean, heart rate
gets I mean you get a little bit of cardio
because the heart rate's gonna get up by what you're
envisioning and what you're seeing there. But you're you're you're
chill for over a week. And historically we've seen James
Harden run out of gas, like that's the narrative of
his great regular season, goes through some peaks and valleys

(26:33):
in the final month of the regular season, get to
the playoffs, he's out of gas. He's got nothing left
because he's worked so hard for the buckets. And in
the playoffs, you don't necessarily get those touch files that
he used to get and and the reputation, it's almost
like there's a picture of him for each officiating. What's
the game it's James. Yeah, you can't call that anymore.

(26:54):
The files that he used to get aren't there. So, uh,
an extraordinary turn events between he and Max. They did
a fantastic job tonight. They steal one in Boston and
I was see how they respond with Joel Embiid progressing right,
he's he's trending towards better days. Well if he's just
reabbing it like he's not testing a basketball wise, I

(27:16):
would hope.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
So this is though, as good as it was for
the Sixers, right, as good as it was, this was
an absolutely unforgivable loss for the Celtics.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Oh it's incredible.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
I mean, this is just how do you lose? When
not It's not like they surprised you. You had a
twelve point lead and you couldn't close that out against
a team that had one option, and you couldn't figure
out how to defend James Harden, how to defend the Sixers,
Like they decided we're gonna make somebody else beat this. Well,
after a little while the lead getting whittled down, you

(27:48):
have to kind of alter things a little bit, but
it was a sake. We're gonna run around after James
Harden and he's gonna find a way to get the
ball free. They're gonna get hoops. We're not gonna get stuff.
Our offense is stagnant. We can't make a hoop. This
is unforgivable by the Celtics. I mean there's games you
could lose. Game one. Look, the Knicks lost Game one.
I'm more mad than I am anything else because the

(28:09):
Knicks should have won. But it's not like the Heat
are terrible. They out coached the Knicks. They figured out
a way. Hey, we got to make the Knicks make
threes and Knicks couldn't make threes. And we're gonna we're
gonna find a way to collapse. The pain on you
and and Eric Spolster. We've talked about it for a
long time, the most underrated coach in the NBA, and
he out coached Tom Thibodeau. So, okay, I'm mad about that,
but I get it. There was no Julius Randall, which

(28:31):
is the big equalizer for the Knicks. This is you
got everybody, man, you get everybody, You got home court
you have time off, you have a team playing without
a guy who could win the MVP tomorrow, and you
can't win that game. Unforgivable by the Celtics, hundred percent unforgivable.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Well, you saw Melton off the bench, six to ten
from the field, five to six from three point range,
so closing out three point shooting not exactly what Boston had.
Mine Harden was seven of fourteen, Maxi struggled a little
bit from the outside but still finished with twenty six.
Harris had eighteen, so some good, uh equitable scoring along

(29:10):
the way. But for James Harden, this is one of
those that you just put in the file, right. I've
seen a lot of people going, yeah, this is slandered
James Hart's like it's one game. It's a great game,
Like you take nothing away for it. Sure, and to
your point, it's a bigger failure for Boston letting this
one get away. With embiid on the shelf.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Twitter it out about a Fresco mike at Swollen Do
home coming up next, It's time to revisit a big
bold prediction about the NBA playoffs, and maybe the team
under the most pressure to win the title is a
team you haven't thought about. That's next right here, Jason
and Mike Fox.

sports shows where the hosts say stupid things like Tom
Brady's the Goats or.

Lebron James is good at basketball, which he is clearly not.

See.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon Hell Live from the tire rack dot
Com Studios. Uh I think the Phillies have a position
player pitching Here in the bottom of the eighth inning,
Dodgers lead at thirteen to four. The Dodgers are bad.
They're back, They're back, the Lakers are bad.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Everybody is back, but Backstreet's back.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
All right. I think Cody Clemens is pitching. I think
it's Cody Clemens who was in pitching. Could you get
the rocket to come out and throws thing? Cody Clemens.
I think his fastball is being clocked at like thirteen
miles an hour. I don't think it's now.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Rogers in the Phillies box.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Cody Clemens is on the mound. I've never seen this before.
I mean he's literally just throwing. He's balls like usually
get guys throwing. He's just I'm just throwing the ball
over the plate like here it is I practice just
minus another twenty miles an hour. I mean, if this
was a carnival, what did he hit about thirty two?

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Would that have even registered at a carnival? And they
get out of the inning. Oh boy, he induces a
hard hit smashed down the third base line, played expertly
to get the force. Now the Phillies down nine, going
to the night thing.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
We just watched the Nuggets knock off the Suns in
game two and a game they were down by eight,
Chris Paul leaves with an injury, and the Nuggets just
go on a run and blitz them. We said this
before the playoffs began. If the Nuggets don't get to
the finals this year, they're never getting there. This is

(32:19):
their year. This is Sometimes teams cana say, well, we're
building something good. Every year is different. Team like the
Celtics who are just in the finals. Team, No, this
is the year. Because everybody else is fallible, everybody else
has issues, everybody else is injured or old. The Nuggets
are none of those things. They are healthy, they are young.

(32:40):
They are the best team in the NBA. If they
don't get to the finals this year, they're never doing it,
which puts all kinds of pressure on them because they
know this is a finals or bust year for them.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Well, you finally have both Murray and Porter Junior healthy.
They combined for fifteen today. Kntavia is called had fourteen
of his own sports. But if you're going to win
a game where the two of those guys, two of
your young stars combined for five for twenty two, yeah,
and you're still able to win by double digits. Although

(33:13):
that last possession I was waiting for it to be
a three point shot, make so they'd win by seven,
and I could say, see Jamal Murray mattered. Instead it's
a draw. But it's if the two of those guys
scoring fifteen points, you're able to still walk out with
a win and decisive down the stretch. Other teams are

(33:33):
in drump. Yeah no, look because you're getting other contributors
popping in.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
It's not every game needs to be Jamal Murray, right,
Like Gorge's had back to back nice nights. Yeah, no,
he has. And I told you before the playoffs. Remember,
the biggest X factor is Jamal Murray. Guy's healthy for
the playoffs for the first time since the bubble. Right,
we got playoff Murray. We got Bubble Murray. He's healthy
for the first time since the playoffs in the bubble.
And yes, that's a huge X factor. But it doesn't

(33:59):
need to be him every single night. Oh, by the way,
you'll catch your saying, all right, it's nice, I'll say
nice things about Jamal, but hey, I'm the MVP thirty
nine and sixteen. I mean, this is it. They are
the best team. They If they don't get to the
finals and really and win the Finals, because now the
Bucks are out, they were the team. Probably give them
the toughest time. If they don't get there and win
this season, you could say for Denver is a failure?

(34:22):
You can absolutely say that, is this a failure if
you don't get to the finals and win it? At
this point for the Nuggets, yes.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I'm just gonna steal that reporter's voice and just throw
that at them. If this happens, you'll catch Is it
a failure if you don't do it now? But looking
at what the Suns did today, and we talked about
that trade that brought Kevin duran In, what it did
for their rotation, what it did for their bench dep
seventy one minutes, played four points on two of sixteen
shooting in a ten point loss.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Twitter and how about a fresca? Mike gets swollen down
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
Coming up next, we got more from the NBA Playoffs,
including what is scaring Me? The app salute most I'm
so scared and I'm telling you the truth. It's next
right here Jason and Mike Fox.
