game because normally he was tripping over his tongue because
he'd played so many weary minutes during a regular season,
taking so many shots, taking so many defensive stretches off,
all of those things that normally come playoff time he
wasn't able to do tonight.

James Harden is the hero we all deserve tonight. Why
it is if you want a long series between the
Celtics and the seventy six Ers, forty five points for
the Sixers without Joel Embiid, they win Game two over
the Celtics. They make in a series. Harden had an
incredible game, nothing bigger than this shot. With about eight

seconds left to go, the Celtics looked like they were
in control, and Harden said, Hey, remember I used to
be this guy.

Fifteen seconds to go, Horford has him out top James
with a dribble Harden one on one, nine seconds on
the shot clock. Harden for three. Shut up, it's good.
Harden made a triple. The Sixers go up by two
eight seconds ago.

Sixers Radio Network on the call. That shot by James
Harden is forty fifth point of the game, forty three,
forty four and forty five, and the Sixers win without
Joel Embiid, who they're hoping to get back for game two,
they're hoping to get him back, and they say he's
trending in the right direction, but without him in game one,

they win. This is one of those reasons why why
not us? Anybody can say, what if the if the
Celtics home court, we have game what what are we
gonna do? Hey, guess what? We wind up completely brain cramping.
We have a lead late, we give it away. They
don't even have the MVP, and we can't win game one.

Just had an incredible stretch of bad decision making and
poor play down the stretch for the Boston Celtics at
home and beat his out. When you say trending in
the right direction, if he just sits on his ass
for four days, he's got to be trending in the
right direction because he can't do any more damage.

Right, But are you trending if you're just I don't know,
if you're sitting and not going anywhere, maybe you're stagnant.

Right. But in theory, from a healing perspective, if he's
not actively doing anything, okay, I mean, he can't make
it any worse. So the trending in the right direction. Yeah,
that's coach speak for we have no idea. I mean,
as soon as Doc was in his Saturday and media

Doubtful for Monday, Like wait what?

Because it went from a nebulous and he is bothering

around going, wait, are we get into different James Harden?

see he's gona hoist up some bad shots and the
Sixers are gonna lose. It's gonna be Look, James Harden,
not the guy. Harden didn't look to take a shot
until that three with eight seconds left. He was masterful
in the final couple of minutes with the ball, finding

the right outlet and getting the ball to the right player.
They hit the free throws, they made shots. Harden was fantastic.
It's it's like this. He outthought the Celtics all by himself,
which was which was brilliant because the Celtics lot They're
defaulting to him. Now it's not Maxi's nice, He's not
gonna take this shot. Harden's gonna do it. Harden's gonna
do it. And Harden kept finding the right place to
go at the basketball. Brilliant. They were absolutely brilliant. Now

that being said about Harden, don't expect this that this
is not who James hard. This is once in a while,
James hard players like Harden can show you, hey, this
is what I used to This is how I used
to do it, right, and that for Harden that's like
as recent as three years ago. But this is one
of those Hey, I can't do it every night. I
may not be able to do it more than once
in a series say it, but I can do it

the Celtics, but as good as Harden was what you
get from Maxi on a regular basis. This is a
guy that I think more and more people are recognizing

is a star on his own right, gets lost behind
Embiid and Harden, but one of those glue guys on
the rise. So if not to expect this from Chid,
they don't need this is where we need you to
do it once in a while, James. We needed you
this game, and you did it and it was phenomenal.

Right, once in a while. As the playoffs go on,
older players simply can't do it right now. The other
part of this takeaway from this game is Sixers winning
Game one. This and what we have seen so far
in the NBA playoffs should be all the argument you
ever need over tanking and not choosing to go to
the playoffs, over choosing to go to the lottery instead,

because what have we seen in the playoffs so far?
Stars now are always going to get hurt. It's too
much basketball, even though they don't play in a lot
of games. It's too much regular season and they're too
dinged up. He were on the second round of the playoffs.
Joel Embiid missus game one. Julius Randall misses game one,
maybe he misses game two. Maybe Jalen Brunson's now questionable
for like Julius Randall, though, why I gotta go to

players who are injured, who are still in the playoffs.
I have to go to that. I can't go to
guys not in the playoffs. What am I gonna say, Kawhi? Okay,
what a surprise, Kawhi. But you want to go back
to the first round all the guys who miss games?
Is that now? This is a this is a regular
thing for the playoffs. Is stars are going to miss games.
Yiannis miss games, They're out of the playoffs. Stars are
gonna miss every year. Every single year, guys get hurt

and they're not gonna play. Maybe it's the first round,
maybe it's the second round. But you have teams now
that are lower seeded going We're sitting here in the
conference semis here, there's eight teams left and we're one.
The Lakers are saying, boy, what a crappy regular season
we had. Look at us the heater saying, nobody gave
us a chance. And now we're up. We have a
chance to basically win the series on Tuesday night. Just
getting in. Now you see the rewards because for a

long time, you weren't getting in as an eight seed
of winning anything. It wasn't happening. You couldn't do it.
The NBA playoffs, the teams at the top of the
conference were too good. You couldn't do it. You need
you earn a championship in the NBA more than ever.
But now things are different because players can't stay healthy.
So that's why when I see teams choosing, ah, we'll
choose the lottery, Mavericks, We'll choose the lottery over the playoffs.

Why are you doing it? You could have snuck it right.
I guarantee you Mark Cuban. Look at Dodgers are going, Wow,
we could have maybe won that game. Snuck in. Maybe
we're playing the Warriors, maybe we're playing the Nuggets. Maybe
it works out. Oh man, who knew who was gonna
get hurt? We didn't know this was gonna happen. This
was gonna happen. This guy would get hurt, and this
guy would get hurt. Who knew? Maybe we could have
done that. This is your argument against Titan. That's all

you need is these NBA playoffs are go. This is
why you go to the playoffs and try and not say, oh,
it's not our year, we're going home.

Yeah. If he's actually doing that on the set of
Shark Tank or whatever voiceover work he's doing right now,
sell the damn team. Sell the damn team because you
obviously did not read the tea leaves in the process.
We talked about it. When it happens like fine, go

I know, Phil, Phil's he's got some physical top man.

to win. I'm improving my legacy. I'm not going to
catch sixty million dollars and walk away.

I mean it's been what two days, I mean, yeah,
that's that's. Yeah, he hasn't said or done anything ridiculous yet.

something like that. Like, I just think there's a lot
of risk involved in this, including this guy played a
lot of football games in the second half of last

they're surely they're gonna win this game, and turn it around.
Oh it's Aaron Rodgers. They're gonna win the next week.
I mean, look at the harmble NFC. How could he
not get in the pleasant Oh okay, well last week

was last week. But this week, I mean, of course
they're gonna win and like, and it never happened. So,
I mean, I just think he's at a point in
his career where he's a declining asset.

He's tried to do a whole face turn here. We'll
do a whole WWE analogy later on on it. But
they're at Baltimore. I mean, obviously some hugeness at the
end of the week, just ahead of the draft. I
was hoping things would drag out because I love drama. Instead,
you get a giant contract, giant novelty size check, and
everybody kissed and made up.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Yeah. I mean, look, ultimately all's well, that ends well,
and this is a franchise defining moment and they win
three out of every four games with Lamar Jackson, and
they damned their loose three out of every four without him.
That's just been their reality the last five years. And
this thing got uglier and nastier and weirder, and I
mean we had the whole what was the guy's name,
Ken whatever? It wasn't Ken Jennings. I want to say

Ken Jenny's but that was a nat Yeah, I mean
Ken whatever, and he you know, maybe Lamar's interviewing himself,
and then that never came out, and then Lamar is
going public with a trade request, and then you know,
has Lamar's I don't think his like shakewaight thing has
come out yet, but I guess it still is. I mean,
it's whatever the hell he was, you know, putting on

his Twitter feed the commercial for his workout thing. I mean,
it's been weird, but they got it done, and they
got it done right before the draft started, and they
kind of blew people's minds around here, and and really,
you know, it's a hat tip to Hollie Roseman. If
the Eagles don't get that thing done with j Allen
Hurts as expeditiously as they did, then the Ravens and

Lamar Jackson are probably still in purgatory or the abyss
or wherever they were the last couple of years. But
once you had a real sort of comp there that
looked and kind of felt similar to this. And he's
doing it post to Shaan Watson contract too, you know,
and he agreed to what he agreed to, which frankly,
a lot of people in the NFLPA wish he had,
(20:25):
you know, not signed that deal when he did for
that money, but he did. And that brought the Ravens
and Lamar together and in the span of a couple
of weeks they went from not talking really at all
to getting a deal.

we saw a lot of teams hey looked like they
had good picks. You saw teams trade up and make
a lot of It was the biggest draft as far
as trades have gone. Whose draft did you like the most?
For whatever reason, whether it was a number of players,
whether it was what they brought in. Whose draft did

you like the most?
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Well, I mean I like the Steelers draft and he
talked to, you know, your sources around the league, who
you trust and who try to shoot you as straight
as they can. I don't hear a lot of them
throwing a whole lot at you know, stones at what
the Steelers did. You know, they basically turned Chase Claypool,
who wasn't going to get a second contract there, into
(21:19):
Joey Porter junior at thirty two. Had they taken Joey
Porter Junior at seventeen, people wouldn't have freaked out in Pittsburgh.
In fact, they would have been really excited, and they
were really excited about the pick at thirty two. If
you look at any of the draft charts, they probably
should have had to give up a three to move
up and take the Patriots pick at fourteen to get
(21:39):
ahead of the Jets. Sorry to take an offense their
mind that the Jets coveted. Sorry, but I think, and
I've got some reporting on this coming out in the
Washington Post, I'm pretty sure Bill Belichick did that just
to have the Jets, you know, basically like, I'll take
below slot, right, They're still going to be a good
player for me. At seventeen. He knew the Steelers were
coming up to take the tackle. So I like what
(22:01):
the Steelers did, you know. I mean, look that the
kid from Georgia, even if he doesn't have two contracts
because of medicals, if he is a formidable blocker for
them and they're protecting the quarterback and the offensive line
has been a problem forever. If they upgraded the offensive
line with a legitimate, big time blocking tight end, plus
(22:22):
they upgraded the tackle position, and that's an athletic free crew.
If they get into more twelve personnel can also catch
stuff underneath. Like, I just like the way things, you know,
I kind of like what they're doing. I like the
d lineman they took. I mean, this team really turned
it on in the second half of the season and
competed with some of the better teams in the AFC.
(22:43):
So I kind of, you know, I'm kind of bullish
on what the Steelers did.

Now, Kenny Pickett chugging beers with Louke Combs at a concert,
so I mean he's ruling the day.

Well, you know, what do they call that living your

And why they didn't if anybody like Jason Smith wanted

Where's the draft that left your scratch in your hand?

Don't say Jets. I already said I didn't like what
the Jets did. I'm not a big fan.

I they panicked a little bit there, and there's a
sense in the industry that and look, they've done a
good job lately. I don't hate their draft or anything
like that, but it was kind of an odd pick
and they might have been a little rattled because of
what happened right in front of them. I don't the
Lions doesn't make sense to me. And I've called people
around the league and say, d am I missing something here?
(23:36):
Or is this just a little back you know what? Crazy?
And everybody's like, no, we don't get it either. I mean,
if you wanted, if you wanted a running back, you
could have stayed at six and just taking be John Robinson,
you know what I mean, who maybe doesn't have the
high high end speed of this other kid you know
of Gibbs, But is the better is the better football player,

maybe the best football player in the draft. And then
you know, I don't get Gibbs at twelve. And then
they took their only team that took an inside linebacker
in the first round, and there're one on only two
that took a running back, and they didn't get the
best running back. So it's like, well, you're going to
move around like that and come away with two players
who the industry thinks you could have gotten each ten
(24:19):
to fifteen picks lower. I don't know, you know what
I mean, And I kind of like Head and Hooker,
but that many teams passed on him as long as
they did, that gives me some palls about the medicals
and how soon he'll really be able to play. And
that was a bit of a vanity pick for them,
and I get it in the third round. I guess
you can do that. But that's a team that I
(24:40):
looked at their draft capitol and said, they've got a
real chance here in a very mediocre NFC to make,
you know, to add some blue chip players and really
come out of this. I thought more fortified in the
trenches and there were some dtackles there around the you know, eighteen,
it would have made sense. And again I just I
(25:02):
don't know, man, for me, it was too cute by half,
and I haven't found many people out there who really
are going to champion it.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Jay. Now we will see the next phase of what
teams want to do after the draft, the attention. There
could be some deals. You know, we heard some big
rumors of big names that might move before the draft
or during the draft. Do you see anything big happening
the next the next few months as we did we
get said getting and could you see big names move
somewhere or not?
Speaker 4 (25:26):
I mean, the time to usually do that kind of
stuff for guys who've been on the block for a
long time, like DeAndre Hopkins is generally the draft, So
I'm not anticipating a wave of those sort of transactions. Now.
We are past the point in time where you know,
signing unrestricted free agents doesn't count against your compensatory pick
equation anymore. So Look, I think there's guys out there
(25:49):
like Marcus Peters and justin Houston. You know, we've had
a pretty good track record over time, but maybe aren't
what they used to be. I think there's guys like
that who could find a home quickly if they want.
Some of them are may want to wait till deeper
in the offseason to see if more teams you know,
suffer injuries, guys get hurt at OTA's and stuff, and
and maybe a better opportunity emerges. But I'm not banking
(26:10):
on a whole lot at this point. I think, you know,
deeper into the off season. Obviously, during training camp, we've
got only one cutdown now, right, they changed the way
they trimmed these rosters, and that was gonna be nuts
to begin with. And I think you'll see obviously a
flurry of trade activity then. So no, I'm not expecting
(26:34):
a whole lot in regards, you know, to for major trades.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Last one, just a quick react, what do you think
of Gudaco's response about Jordan Love's fifty year option.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
I mean, I don't look.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
This.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
This kid hasn't played a whole lot of football. They've
you know, they've made their bed. But that's an organization
that I think always has one other I on the
other guy, I mean, whoever that may be. And next
year's draft people are talking about it like it's generational.
And the Packers did a fairmental work on quarterbacks in
this draft. They always do. Everybody there was basically can
(27:13):
trace their career back to Ron Wolf, and Ron Wolf
felt like, you know what I mean that if you
have a full compliment of picks every year, you should
think about taking a quarterback when one catches your eye.
So I just you know he's gonna get a run.
We're gonna see what this looks like this year. But again,
I think they're always kind of winking at whatever else

is out there.

Yeah, not as crowded because they moved DeAndre Swift. But

all right, they're not gonna have all these.

Guys or unless they were just counting on, well, he's
gonna get hurt. It's gonna be Swift. So now Swift
goes to the Eagles. Eagles have three running backs. Now
that you're like, oh, what is happening? Yeah, but that's
you know how he Roseman can do no wrong. I
think he's got a statue right next to Carson Wentz
at this point. Anything he touches.

I mean, you want to talk about a guy that
people are gonna start putting little candles in front of him,
bowing to a statue of him. He's Nothing he does
is wrong. You can DeAndre Swift is not the greatest
running back in the world because how he acquired it.
That's like getting Walter Hey. Great for football, great for football,

awful for fantasy. Yeah, but that's been the right. I
mean every year it's shrinking, and even it's the quarterbacks
that we used to have.

It was only like eight guys, right, right, right, it
was folks.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Forget it was only eight to ten guys that actually
ever survived an NFL season.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
That doesn't happen at all anymore. Forget it. No, you're
not even getting to that level. You got. You got
carries being that are gonna be taken away in Seattle.
You're talking about carries to be taken away in Tampa,
everywhere you want to go now, and even a place
like Cleveland where Nick Chubb. Nick Chubb doesn't catch passes right,
So it's like, uh, I mean everywhere you go now,
every single running back situation time share the Bears. Oh
(32:36):
Khalil Herbert is gonna be the guy. Okay, now it's it's.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
So, it's it's the same thing. It's just a matter
of how many guys are taking pieces of the pie.
And then you add the quarterback and a lot of
these teams that makes it even even worse. Justin Vales,
keep going on down the line, it's another running back possibly,
you know, in terms of splitting those carries, it's.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Not quite the zero RB strategy that people had a
few years ago, where it was all, go, I'll just
take wide receivers wide receivers. But it's more like the
running back position now in fantasy football, whether you do
regular league, at dynasty league, whatever you do, it's gonna
be a get by position. You're not gonna go crazy
because if your guy gets hurt, if your guy has
(33:19):
a bad couple of games, somebody else does, it's too risky.
So in the end, it's gonna be. Well, I just
need guys that are gonna play, and I'm gonna put
all my efforts into wide. I'll put more efforts into
kicker and defense and tight end than I will running
back because well, at least there's gonna be guys out
there that i'll get later on, because who knows who
the running back's gonna be. But I gotta have guys
that can play, and maybe these guys turn out for me.
(33:40):
It's a get by position.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I mean, you're looking at just a couple of those circumstances,
like the value of a guy like Christian McCaffrey, again,
injury history being what it is, but he's a guy
where his touch count and we're not doing carries anymore
because that's long gone. What do we have seven guys
touch two hundred carries this year? I don't even know
if it was that I'm trying to remember. Yeah, not
my end of season. Uh, but it was more about,
(34:03):
all right, how many passes did you catch? Look at
Austin Eckler one hundred and twenty seven targets right to
give him that extra value and obviously the red zone efficiency,
so we're talking touchdown totals, and we're trying to beg
for touchcounts. Otherwise it's rolling the dice. Get that, Dungeons
and dragons, dice out.

James Harden is the hero we all deserve tonight. Why
it is if you want a long series between the
Celtics and the seventy six Ers, forty five points for
the Sixers without Joel Embiid, they win Game two over
the Celtics. They make in a series. Harden had an
incredible game, nothing bigger than this shot. With about eight

seconds left to go, the Celtics looked like they were
in control, and Harden said, Hey, remember I used to
be this guy.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Fifteen seconds to go, Horford has him out top James
with a dribble Harden one on one, nine seconds on
the shot clock. Harden for three. Shut up, it's good.
Harden made a triple. The Sixers go up by two
eight seconds ago.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Sixers Radio Network on the call. That shot by James
Harden is forty fifth point of the game, forty three,
forty four and forty five, and the Sixers win without
Joel Embiid, who they're hoping to get back for game two,
they're hoping to get him back, and they say he's
trending in the right direction, but without him in game one,

they win. This is one of those reasons why why
not us? Anybody can say, what if the if the
Celtics home court, we have game what what are we
gonna do? Hey, guess what? We wind up completely brain cramping.
We have a lead late, we give it away. They
don't even have the MVP, and we can't win game one.
And this is why all the teams why not us?

Just had an incredible stretch of bad decision making and
poor play down the stretch for the Boston Celtics at
home and beat his out. When you say trending in
the right direction, if he just sits on his ass
for four days, he's got to be trending in the
right direction because he can't do any more damage.

Right, But are you trending if you're just I don't know,
if you're sitting and not going anywhere, maybe you're stagnant.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Right. But in theory, from a healing perspective, if he's
not actively doing anything, okay, I mean, he can't make
it any worse. So the trending in the right direction. Yeah,
that's coach speak for we have no idea. I mean,
as soon as Doc was in his Saturday and media
availability going he's.

Because it went from a nebulous and he is bothering

the teammates like, what did you see?

What were you anticipating in that moment because there was
not a green jersey to be found anywhere near the
intended passing lane there, So h for the Celtics, a
huge letdown on the home court, opportunity to run through
with Embiid on the sidelines instead. James Harden everything you

could ever want and then some. So immediately everybody's looking
around going, wait, are we get into different James Harden?

to be James Harden in the past. Right, You're gonna
see he's gona hoist up some bad shots and the
Sixers are gonna lose. It's gonna be Look, James Harden,
not the guy. Harden didn't look to take a shot
until that three with eight seconds left. He was masterful
in the final couple of minutes with the ball, finding

the right outlet and getting the ball to the right player.
They hit the free throws, they made shots. Harden was fantastic.
It's it's like this. He outthought the Celtics all by himself,
which was which was brilliant because the Celtics lot They're
defaulting to him. Now it's not Maxi's nice, He's not
gonna take this shot. Harden's gonna do it. Harden's gonna
do it. And Harden kept finding the right place to
go at the basketball. Brilliant. They were absolutely brilliant. Now

that being said about Harden, don't expect this that this
is not who James hard. This is once in a while,
James hard players like Harden can show you, hey, this
is what I used to This is how I used
to do it, right, and that for Harden that's like
as recent as three years ago. But this is one
of those Hey, I can't do it every night. I
may not be able to do it more than once
in a series say it, but I can do it

once in a while, and I can show you how
I used to be, because if I'm not as good
now as I ever was, that the way your song is.
I once was as good once, but I'm not as
good as I am now. I was as good as
I used to be before.

Yeah, But for James Harden, the days off certainly can't
couldn't have hurt right, that's what we've been We anticipate
the Lakers and Warriors to that same end of the
Lakers got to sit around a little bit longer by
vanquishing this now silent Dylent Brooks and and the Memphis Grizzly. No,

that's what I've been told all weekend long. They are
yelling that everywhere I went. But an impressive game Maxi
once again, because that's the other part of this, right
is uh and Tatum had thirty nine in defeat for
the Celtics, but as good as Harden was what you
get from Maxi on a regular basis. This is a
guy that I think more and more people are recognizing
(08:11):
is a star on his own right, gets lost behind
Embiid and Harden, but one of those glue guys on
the rise. So if not to expect this from Chid,
they don't need this is where we need you to
do it once in a while, James. We needed you
this game, and you did it and it was phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Right, once in a while. As the playoffs go on,
older players simply can't do it right now. The other
part of this takeaway from this game is Sixers winning
Game one. This and what we have seen so far
in the NBA playoffs should be all the argument you
ever need over tanking and not choosing to go to
the playoffs, over choosing to go to the lottery instead,
(08:47):
because what have we seen in the playoffs so far?
Stars now are always going to get hurt. It's too
much basketball, even though they don't play in a lot
of games. It's too much regular season and they're too
dinged up. He were on the second round of the playoffs.
Joel Embiid missus game one. Julius Randall misses game one,
maybe he misses game two. Maybe Jalen Brunson's now questionable
for like Julius Randall, though, why I gotta go to
(09:10):
players who are injured, who are still in the playoffs.
I have to go to that. I can't go to
guys not in the playoffs. What am I gonna say, Kawhi? Okay,
what a surprise, Kawhi. But you want to go back
to the first round all the guys who miss games?
Is that now? This is a this is a regular
thing for the playoffs. Is stars are going to miss games.
Yiannis miss games, They're out of the playoffs. Stars are
gonna miss every year. Every single year, guys get hurt
(09:33):
and they're not gonna play. Maybe it's the first round,
maybe it's the second round. But you have teams now
that are lower seeded going We're sitting here in the
conference semis here, there's eight teams left and we're one.
The Lakers are saying, boy, what a crappy regular season
we had. Look at us the heater saying, nobody gave
us a chance. And now we're up. We have a
chance to basically win the series on Tuesday night. Just
getting in. Now you see the rewards because for a
(09:56):
long time, you weren't getting in as an eight seed
of winning anything. It wasn't happening. You couldn't do it.
The NBA playoffs, the teams at the top of the
conference were too good. You couldn't do it. You need
you earn a championship in the NBA more than ever.
But now things are different because players can't stay healthy.
So that's why when I see teams choosing, ah, we'll
choose the lottery, Mavericks, We'll choose the lottery over the playoffs.

Why are you doing it? You could have snuck it right.
I guarantee you Mark Cuban. Look at Dodgers are going, Wow,
we could have maybe won that game. Snuck in. Maybe
we're playing the Warriors, maybe we're playing the Nuggets. Maybe
it works out. Oh man, who knew who was gonna
get hurt? We didn't know this was gonna happen. This
was gonna happen. This guy would get hurt, and this
guy would get hurt. Who knew? Maybe we could have
done that. This is your argument against Titan. That's all

you need is these NBA playoffs are go. This is
why you go to the playoffs and try and not say, oh,
it's not our year, we're going home.

Yeah. If he's actually doing that on the set of
Shark Tank or whatever voiceover work he's doing right now,
sell the damn team. Sell the damn team because you
obviously did not read the tea leaves in the process.
We talked about it. When it happens like fine, go

to me because he gave up both. I Now you
got Kyrie hugging Lebron James game. He's got to find
his way back into the league somehow the Lakers. He's

yeah to where all over the place. Well, now you've
got Kyrie. He showed up at the Sacramento Golden State
Game seven.

He has seemed like everything he's done so far is Hey,
here's his fresh start, and already I'm showing up in
the off season, which I didn't do before in Green
Bay because hey, I kind of like where I am
right now. So I'm gonna give him the benefit of
the doubt there that Hey, he is coming in, and

he's coming in to say, Okay, I want to try
to win. I'm improving my legacy. I'm not going to
catch sixty million dollars and walk away.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
I mean it's been what two days, I mean, yeah,
that's that's. Yeah, he hasn't said or done anything ridiculous yet.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Well, it's only happens these days.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
This only hasn't even been in the building a week yet. Yeah,
getting he's getting his full sixty million dollars from the
only team that wanted to pay it to him, because
let's be real, the Packers didn't. I'm sorry, I can
grate on a curve at times, but I'm gonna let
this one breathe a little bit fright opine about you
know what I mean, how he's gonna fit into New
York what you know, his sessions with Pat McAfee are

going to be like if they're three and four or
something like that. Like, I just think there's a lot
of risk involved in this, including this guy played a
lot of football games in the second half of last
year where a lot of people were saying, Oh, well,
they're surely they're gonna win this game, and turn it around.
Oh it's Aaron Rodgers. They're gonna win the next week.
I mean, look at the harmble NFC. How could he
not get in the pleasant Oh okay, well last week
(18:28):
was last week. But this week, I mean, of course
they're gonna win and like, and it never happened. So,
I mean, I just think he's at a point in
his career where he's a declining asset.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
He's tried to do a whole face turn here. We'll
do a whole WWE analogy later on on it. But
they're at Baltimore. I mean, obviously some hugeness at the
end of the week, just ahead of the draft. I
was hoping things would drag out because I love drama. Instead,
you get a giant contract, giant novelty size check, and
everybody kissed and made up.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Yeah. I mean, look, ultimately all's well, that ends well,
and this is a franchise defining moment and they win
three out of every four games with Lamar Jackson, and
they damned their loose three out of every four without him.
That's just been their reality the last five years. And
this thing got uglier and nastier and weirder, and I
mean we had the whole what was the guy's name,
Ken whatever? It wasn't Ken Jennings. I want to say
(19:21):
Ken Jenny's but that was a nat Yeah, I mean
Ken whatever, and he you know, maybe Lamar's interviewing himself,
and then that never came out, and then Lamar is
going public with a trade request, and then you know,
has Lamar's I don't think his like shakewaight thing has
come out yet, but I guess it still is. I mean,
it's whatever the hell he was, you know, putting on
(19:42):
his Twitter feed the commercial for his workout thing. I mean,
it's been weird, but they got it done, and they
got it done right before the draft started, and they
kind of blew people's minds around here, and and really,
you know, it's a hat tip to Hollie Roseman. If
the Eagles don't get that thing done with j Allen
Hurts as expeditiously as they did, then the Ravens and
(20:04):
Lamar Jackson are probably still in purgatory or the abyss
or wherever they were the last couple of years. But
once you had a real sort of comp there that
looked and kind of felt similar to this. And he's
doing it post to Shaan Watson contract too, you know,
and he agreed to what he agreed to, which frankly,
a lot of people in the NFLPA wish he had,
(20:25):
you know, not signed that deal when he did for
that money, but he did. And that brought the Ravens
and Lamar together and in the span of a couple
of weeks they went from not talking really at all
to getting a deal.
Speaker 1 (20:36):

with Mike Harman. All right. So now elsewhere in the draft,
we saw a lot of teams hey looked like they
had good picks. You saw teams trade up and make
a lot of It was the biggest draft as far
as trades have gone. Whose draft did you like the most?
For whatever reason, whether it was a number of players,
whether it was what they brought in. Whose draft did
(20:57):
you like the most?
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Well, I mean I like the Steelers draft and he
talked to, you know, your sources around the league, who
you trust and who try to shoot you as straight
as they can. I don't hear a lot of them
throwing a whole lot at you know, stones at what
the Steelers did. You know, they basically turned Chase Claypool,
who wasn't going to get a second contract there, into
(21:19):
Joey Porter junior at thirty two. Had they taken Joey
Porter Junior at seventeen, people wouldn't have freaked out in Pittsburgh.
In fact, they would have been really excited, and they
were really excited about the pick at thirty two. If
you look at any of the draft charts, they probably
should have had to give up a three to move
up and take the Patriots pick at fourteen to get
(21:39):
ahead of the Jets. Sorry to take an offense their
mind that the Jets coveted. Sorry, but I think, and
I've got some reporting on this coming out in the
Washington Post, I'm pretty sure Bill Belichick did that just
to have the Jets, you know, basically like, I'll take
below slot, right, They're still going to be a good
player for me. At seventeen. He knew the Steelers were
coming up to take the tackle. So I like what
(22:01):
the Steelers did, you know. I mean, look that the
kid from Georgia, even if he doesn't have two contracts
because of medicals, if he is a formidable blocker for
them and they're protecting the quarterback and the offensive line
has been a problem forever. If they upgraded the offensive
line with a legitimate, big time blocking tight end, plus
(22:22):
they upgraded the tackle position, and that's an athletic free crew.
If they get into more twelve personnel can also catch
stuff underneath. Like, I just like the way things, you know,
I kind of like what they're doing. I like the
d lineman they took. I mean, this team really turned
it on in the second half of the season and
competed with some of the better teams in the AFC.
(22:43):
So I kind of, you know, I'm kind of bullish
on what the Steelers did.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Now, Kenny Pickett chugging beers with Louke Combs at a concert,
so I mean he's ruling the day.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Well, you know, what do they call that living your
best life or something?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Call it?
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:59):
And why they didn't if anybody like Jason Smith wanted
him to replace him, so that that worked out?
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Pretty nicely.

Since it is sports talk Radio, Jason, we'd be remiss
if we didn't say, all right, open the can of negativity.
Where's the draft that left your scratch in your hand?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Don't say Jets. I already said I didn't like what
the Jets did. I'm not a big fan.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
I they panicked a little bit there, and there's a
sense in the industry that and look, they've done a
good job lately. I don't hate their draft or anything
like that, but it was kind of an odd pick
and they might have been a little rattled because of
what happened right in front of them. I don't the
Lions doesn't make sense to me. And I've called people
around the league and say, d am I missing something here?
(23:36):
Or is this just a little back you know what? Crazy?
And everybody's like, no, we don't get it either. I mean,
if you wanted, if you wanted a running back, you
could have stayed at six and just taking be John Robinson,
you know what I mean, who maybe doesn't have the
high high end speed of this other kid you know
of Gibbs, But is the better is the better football player,
(23:56):
maybe the best football player in the draft. And then
you know, I don't get Gibbs at twelve. And then
they took their only team that took an inside linebacker
in the first round, and there're one on only two
that took a running back, and they didn't get the
best running back. So it's like, well, you're going to
move around like that and come away with two players
who the industry thinks you could have gotten each ten
(24:19):
to fifteen picks lower. I don't know, you know what
I mean, And I kind of like Head and Hooker,
but that many teams passed on him as long as
they did, that gives me some palls about the medicals
and how soon he'll really be able to play. And
that was a bit of a vanity pick for them,
and I get it in the third round. I guess
you can do that. But that's a team that I
(24:40):
looked at their draft capitol and said, they've got a
real chance here in a very mediocre NFC to make,
you know, to add some blue chip players and really
come out of this. I thought more fortified in the
trenches and there were some dtackles there around the you know, eighteen,
it would have made sense. And again I just I
(25:02):
don't know, man, for me, it was too cute by half,
and I haven't found many people out there who really
are going to champion it.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Jay. Now we will see the next phase of what
teams want to do after the draft, the attention. There
could be some deals. You know, we heard some big
rumors of big names that might move before the draft
or during the draft. Do you see anything big happening
the next the next few months as we did we
get said getting and could you see big names move
somewhere or not?
Speaker 4 (25:26):
I mean, the time to usually do that kind of
stuff for guys who've been on the block for a
long time, like DeAndre Hopkins is generally the draft, So
I'm not anticipating a wave of those sort of transactions. Now.
We are past the point in time where you know,
signing unrestricted free agents doesn't count against your compensatory pick
equation anymore. So Look, I think there's guys out there
(25:49):
like Marcus Peters and justin Houston. You know, we've had
a pretty good track record over time, but maybe aren't
what they used to be. I think there's guys like
that who could find a home quickly if they want.
Some of them are may want to wait till deeper
in the offseason to see if more teams you know,
suffer injuries, guys get hurt at OTA's and stuff, and
and maybe a better opportunity emerges. But I'm not banking
(26:10):
on a whole lot at this point. I think, you know,
deeper into the off season. Obviously, during training camp, we've
got only one cutdown now, right, they changed the way
they trimmed these rosters, and that was gonna be nuts
to begin with. And I think you'll see obviously a
flurry of trade activity then. So no, I'm not expecting
(26:34):
a whole lot in regards, you know, to for major trades.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Last one, just a quick react, what do you think
of Gudaco's response about Jordan Love's fifty year option.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
I mean, I don't look.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
This.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
This kid hasn't played a whole lot of football. They've
you know, they've made their bed. But that's an organization
that I think always has one other I on the
other guy, I mean, whoever that may be. And next
year's draft people are talking about it like it's generational.
And the Packers did a fairmental work on quarterbacks in
this draft. They always do. Everybody there was basically can
(27:13):
trace their career back to Ron Wolf, and Ron Wolf
felt like, you know what I mean that if you
have a full compliment of picks every year, you should
think about taking a quarterback when one catches your eye.
So I just you know he's gonna get a run.
We're gonna see what this looks like this year. But again,
I think they're always kind of winking at whatever else
(27:35):
is out there.

did like, not just who had the best draft, who
had the word. But one thing I really come away
with this ad is a couple people I've talked to
I know then they feel the same way. Fantasy owners
like you and I and everybody else to watch his
football should be screaming right now because every running back

situation is turning into a timeshare, even Bjon Robinson and
Jamier Gibbs, even the two of them. Right, Robinson's joining
a team that ran for seventeen hundred yards last time.
You already had a couple of pretty good running backs there, right,
Jamir gets hey here he is first round. He's also
gonna split the job with Montgomery.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Now.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
They just paid a bunch of money tom in division.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah, not as crowded because they moved DeAndre Swift. But
he gets hurt.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Like I mean when we talked about it Thursday, and like,
all right, they're not gonna have all these.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Guys or unless they were just counting on, well, he's
gonna get hurt. It's gonna be Swift. So now Swift
goes to the Eagles. Eagles have three running backs. Now
that you're like, oh, what is happening? Yeah, but that's
you know how he Roseman can do no wrong. I
think he's got a statue right next to Carson Wentz
at this point. Anything he touches.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I mean, you want to talk about a guy that
people are gonna start putting little candles in front of him,
bowing to a statue of him. He's Nothing he does
is wrong. You can DeAndre Swift is not the greatest
running back in the world because how he acquired it.
That's like getting Walter Hey. Great for football, great for football,
(31:58):
awful for fantasy. Yeah, but that's been the right. I
mean every year it's shrinking, and even it's the quarterbacks
that we used to have.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
It was only like eight guys, right, right, right, it
was folks.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Forget it was only eight to ten guys that actually
ever survived an NFL season.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
That doesn't happen at all anymore. Forget it. No, you're
not even getting to that level. You got. You got
carries being that are gonna be taken away in Seattle.
You're talking about carries to be taken away in Tampa,
everywhere you want to go now, and even a place
like Cleveland where Nick Chubb. Nick Chubb doesn't catch passes right,
So it's like, uh, I mean everywhere you go now,
every single running back situation time share the Bears. Oh
(32:36):
Khalil Herbert is gonna be the guy. Okay, now it's it's.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
So, it's it's the same thing. It's just a matter
of how many guys are taking pieces of the pie.
And then you add the quarterback and a lot of
these teams that makes it even even worse. Justin Vales,
keep going on down the line, it's another running back possibly,
you know, in terms of splitting those carries, it's.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Not quite the zero RB strategy that people had a
few years ago, where it was all, go, I'll just
take wide receivers wide receivers. But it's more like the
running back position now in fantasy football, whether you do
regular league, at dynasty league, whatever you do, it's gonna
be a get by position. You're not gonna go crazy
because if your guy gets hurt, if your guy has
(33:19):
a bad couple of games, somebody else does, it's too risky.
So in the end, it's gonna be. Well, I just
need guys that are gonna play, and I'm gonna put
all my efforts into wide. I'll put more efforts into
kicker and defense and tight end than I will running
back because well, at least there's gonna be guys out
there that i'll get later on, because who knows who
the running back's gonna be. But I gotta have guys
that can play, and maybe these guys turn out for me.
(33:40):
It's a get by position.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I mean, you're looking at just a couple of those circumstances,
like the value of a guy like Christian McCaffrey, again,
injury history being what it is, but he's a guy
where his touch count and we're not doing carries anymore
because that's long gone. What do we have seven guys
touch two hundred carries this year? I don't even know
if it was that I'm trying to remember. Yeah, not
my end of season. Uh, but it was more about,
(34:03):
all right, how many passes did you catch? Look at
Austin Eckler one hundred and twenty seven targets right to
give him that extra value and obviously the red zone efficiency,
so we're talking touchdown totals, and we're trying to beg
for touchcounts. Otherwise it's rolling the dice. Get that, Dungeons
and dragons, dice out.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Let's go on the twenty side. A die. I rolled
a nineteen for charisma.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Ah.

He really able to get in the fourth round. Damn
