Speaker 3 (00:58):
I'd love to hear Jason try that try the yeah
yeah yeah, no, that was not good.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Let's hear you hit that high pitched squeal there. Let's go. No, no,
not doing it, no, not doing it, no deliverance stuff.
Let's go no, not doing it. Not doing it. No, nope, nope, nope,
nope nope, not gonna do it. We had not at
this junct shirt. Not not gonna be No, not not
(01:24):
gonna be. No, that's that's no, that's completely not what
that was.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You sure that was?
Speaker 1 (01:31):
That was the Dana Carvey is George Bush s NL,
not the Mike Myers has Austin Powers or doctor Reeve.
You just don't no, that was he was doing that.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
I think.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
No, No, it's it's it's it's just different things. It's
two different things.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
I know, but that one was better than those.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Wait, let me ask you your your your Wait, I
gott I had. Do you know who Dana Carvey and
or Mike Myers are?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Mike Myers I believe he was in Austin Powers right.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
See, now you need to give me a give me
a straight answer on something you knew that.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Okay, what about Dana car I thought that's the guy
that runs the UFC.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
No, No, that's Dana White. What movie? What famous movie
did Dana Carvey and Mike Myers do together together? Yes? Together? Oh,
go together.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I'm gonna say the Animal.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
No, they did Halloween too. I remember Michael Myers, Dana Carvey. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
he dresses up. He is actually he's Michael Myers. He
dresses up. He kills Dana Carvey with a big, big,
fat knife, and Dana Carvey goes, now, I'm not gonna
like it.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Before he did it right now? Was there stairs scene
in this one?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
He would swing and then there was there was a stairs.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
There were always a stair scene in Uh you know
one of the famous sketches they did that was part
of the movie.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, oh that's true. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, Mom, Halloween,
Halloween to tysher, watch it tonight. Michael Meyer's data card we.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Got was Brendan Fraser in it.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Uh, yes, and so was a mummy.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
I'm so down then, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, Michael Myers actually fights the Mummy at the end
and it's it's actually kidding. Yeah yeah, yeah. He keeps
stabbing him, but the Mummy keeps just and he keeps thinking,
but he just keeps losing tape and that's all of
it keeps coming off.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Sounds better than the Marvel movies you talk about.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Hey, that sounds like that's we get a three picture
deal going on on there that I go so.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Is it true he loses to the Mummy and then
becomes a Walrus?
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Uh? He does? Did you he got it?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
And then Lez Harley pops out in a police suit.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Hey down, yucking yeah? Yeah, no, Hey. I was a
big fan of be Dazzled. I was. I was a
big fan of let's just say, because it came out
like almost twenty years ago.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I was a big fan of Creepy Way to make
it creepy.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I'm saying no, I'm still a bit, but I said
I was a big fan because it came out. I mean,
you know, Okay, that's almos say came out.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
What else came out?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
My never Again list, which the Sons are now officially
on the list.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
The last addition I made to my never Again list
was in the middle of March. My never again list
is teams I'm never gonna pick to win anything big
ever again because they always fall short. And on this
list Brazil in World Cup, the Raiders, usc football, the
seventy six ers, and because it was updated in March,
(04:33):
Arizona basketball and now the Phoenix Suns become the first
this down because Arizona becomes the first state to have
two teams on my never again list with now Arizona
basketball and the Phoenix Suns.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
So bag against Arizona again now unless Arizona State, can
you know, make some kind of run, some kind of
crazy run in the play But I'm welcome she already
killed off the Arizon on the Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, well look, well basketball, that just that's just common sense.
Not to pick the Cardinals for anything. No, this is,
this is I'm never picking this Arizona basketball and basically
everything in Arizona basketball wise is now dead to me.
It's not dead. I'm not picking them. They're done. Okay,
they're done. Okay, I can get on board that. Sure,
they're finished as and they're all finished, all finished. Now
(05:21):
never picking the Sons again, because they go out at
the deadline and they go get Kevin Durant, which is
such a huge move, and they don't lose when he plays,
and they beat teams pretty bad. And here they go
and they get into the playoffs and it's a little
bit of stop and go and then what happens. I'm
believing in them, and I told you right before the
(05:41):
playoffs that's a team to watch out for. I'm telling you,
as long as KD is healthy. I'm gonna pick the Suns.
I'm gonna pick the Suns because what they're gonna They're
gonna they're gonna outscore teams by twenty twenty five points
a game. It's gonna be just like it happened with
the Nets. Watch out, and and Chris Paul's not gonna
have to do a lot, and it's gonna be Kd's
gonna be able to to take the well that's true,
(06:04):
and Katie's gonna take take a little bit of the
pressure off of Devin Booker where Booker doesn't have to
do it every night and KD can do it once
every couple of nights. Oh man, look at this, and
then what happened. KD disappears in this game, Booker disappears,
Chris Paul gets hurt again, because it's what Chris Paul does.
He gets he's really good right up until you need
him the most, and then he always gets hurt or
(06:24):
he's ineffective. And so that's why I'm like, you know what,
that's it now, I'm never gonna pick them again. The
Phoenix Suns on my never again list to go along
with Arizona hoops, usc football, the Raiders Brazil in the
seventy six ers.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Yeah, Randy Van Warmer wants no part of this squad
because they leave you just when you needed the most.
I mean they really do. They let you down in
a big way because you, I mean you were so
bullish after that trade. I mean you you really got
chesty about it because then they started beating teams up.
(06:58):
But you forgot the big, the big component of it all.
Chris Paul being ready and available come a playoff series.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I did. I did. It's it's it's my fault. It's
my fault. It's all. It's all my fault. I don't
know what to say. I feel I feel bad, I
feel shame. I mean, you misled.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
It's okay, Yeah, it's okay. They'll they'll get past it.
I mean there might be some trust issues for a while,
but you know it'll be okay. Look, when when you
get down to it, they gave up a lot of depth.
You got a lot of d NP coaches decisions even
on a blowout, guys are getting uh, you know, up
until the middle and late fourth quarter, guys weren't seeing
(07:38):
any time. Uh, you had the injuries eight and unavailable
for this one. He'd been inconsistent during the series, and
a lot of people started bringing out the poison pens
on him, going all the way back to before the season.
Did he want to be here at the trade deadline? Right?
How many rumors did we go through with DeAndre Ayton?
And how many teams was he photoshopped into? I mean
(08:00):
it was a lot. And then he's one of the
core four coming back. Injuries beset each of those guys
over the course of the year. And then you don't
have your facilitator, which means Booker is either a score facilitator,
Durant looking to Booker and if the SHOT's not falling
for either, who the hell else do you have? You
didn't have a third guy to step up and going
(08:21):
up against the Denver squad where KCP matches what Durant
did for much of the game. Yeah, that's not getting
you into the winner circle.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Twitter at how about a Fresco Mike get swollen down
the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
So while they're on this list, right, you mentioned the
guy that I want to get into for the next
couple of minutes, the hit that Kevin Durant took with
the Ouster in this series is huge right now, He's lucky.
He's got his contract going on and the Suns are
(08:51):
gonna have no choice but to try to make it
work with him. But he thought, okay, it's not gonna
work here in Brooklyn. Team is no. Team is not good.
We thought it was going to it's not the way
after he was they did, they did, They got rid
of everybody, and suddenly the nets kind of stayed around
a little bit. It was kind of cool, but he
knew that, Okay, my my star is not as bright
(09:15):
as it was he thought. He thought, I checked the
box off of my career of I have to win
a title, right. I won two with the Warriors. We
probably won a third, but I blew up my achilles.
I have two NBA MVPs. And still he never got
the hug that he thought he was going to get.
He thought, people are not going to talk about me
like they talk about Lebron. No, it's still Katie has
(09:36):
always been very polarizing. He had to go to the
Warriors to win. He had a big team. Now now
let's see he's in charge of his own team. It's
him again. Now he's in charge on team in Brooklyn,
and look what happened. It failed spectacularly, not all on him,
but who's the guy that's most represented and associated with
that NETS era, Kevin Durant. You were building around him.
(09:56):
You want him and ky Kyrie were there. We brought
in Ja Harden that didn't work. We brought in Ben
Simmons that didn't work. We got rid of Steve Nash,
that didn't work. Okay, the shine has gone off of
Kevin Durant, So I have to go someplace else and
show the rest of the NBA how good I am.
Because with the Suns win, people are now going to say, boy,
KD is still that guy they needed Kevin Durant to win.
(10:20):
Devin Booker's not gonna get the credit, Chris Paul's not
gonna get the credit. It's going to be they needed
Kevin Durant to go win, and Kad thought, I'm getting
into a perfect situation here in Phoenix. We have another
star player that can score a lot of points. I
don't need to do that every single night. We have
a point guard that everybody respects. We have a good
big man who they just signed and wanted to keep around. Yeah, No,
(10:40):
that's team I gotta go to. And now look what happened.
The Suns don't even get out of the second round
of the playoffs. And not only that, they're big no
shows in a couple of games in the second round.
Nobody's brand took a bigger hit than Kevin Durant Because
now NBA teams, anybody who's gonna want Kevin Durant because
who knows how long it's gonna be until KAD wants
out of Phoenix. Oh, it's not working for me here anymore.
(11:01):
I want out, I want out. I gotta go someplace else.
How many teams now are gonna say, yes, let's go
get KD because we are a Kevin Durant away from
winning a championship. It's gonna be like Lamar Jackson, wha
wait wait, nobody wants me. Nope for that kind of money, No,
that kind of years. No, really no but really no? Oh,
all right, that's gonna be KD. What teams are gonna say, yes,
(11:23):
we are a Kevin Durant away from winning a championship,
No big contenders, There still will be teams that want them.
You teams say, hey, we can maybe become a contender
where we owe a team like a Portland that sits
around the bottom of the Western Conference. But hey, with
Lillard and KD, maybe that works and that like a
team like that I can see, But contenders not happening. Now.
KD lost a lot off his brand with this. Hey
(11:45):
here are the Suns with Kevin Durant and they don't
get out of the second round. No, one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Remember he wanted some love, got his two finals MVPs.
So it's there's the basketball love, and there's a universal love.
Add Burner accounts and stuff. It's people bit chested. Yeah,
I thought he had the best quote the other night,
just kind of talking about are you surprised by.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
What the nugget's done? And he looked at him, he goes, hell, know,
they're the number one seed. What'd you think? Right?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Just point blank. So there's that candor to him that
you have to appreciate. And the guy just loves to
play basketball. That in and of itself does not make
him a guy that's going to lead you to the
Promised Land. It took the culture, it took Steve Kerr,
it took everything that you had in Golden State, and
he fit in with great players and you just go
to play basketball, But you also had the personalities and
(12:36):
the leadership in Curry and Draymond Green and the aforementioned
Steve Kerr that gets lost in a lot of this.
Of right, he's he's like Phil Jackson at this point.
He's just a figurehead to most people. But the idea
that you have this winning culture and you say, yeah,
you want to come in and be part of it, great,
But that doesn't get transplanted. How many guys went and
(12:56):
coached for the New England Patriots and then went somewhere
else and try to install those same kind of philosophies,
same type of attitudes, same type of hubris that comes
with winning.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
How many of them? All of them?
Speaker 4 (13:09):
And they all failed, all right, most of them to
a very large degree, some with some modicum of success.
Sexy REXI certainly part of the anime video that the
Chargers put out today. But we go through all of
that to say that it's a great he's a great player,
but this kind of gives you more shine and love
(13:31):
to the Warriors. Doesn't really necessarily denigrate him, but just says,
you know, you left a really good thing. The spotlight
on what could have been, you know, kind of like
we do with the Kobe Shack era all these years.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Laters, man, if.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
They just stayed together, same thing here, boy, they could
have really run this out another three four years, five years. Boy,
that could have been fun and people would have hated
the Warriors even more.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
And then I fell in a well and then I
called up a cab, and then the Cap showed up
and told me it was too much. And then I
called up an uber and Alex Sicher picked me up,
and then he gave me all the advice I needed
about keen wah. He shoved keen in my mouth and
Cap shoving keenwa in my mouth. That escalated quickly. Oh no,
(14:25):
I think there's a pretty good lyrics and.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Now Jason's extra healthy.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Living forever to watch the Jets fail growing hairbag.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Oh you guys are gonna hate life when you have
to watch the Jets in prime time and on nationally
televised game every single bleeping week of the season.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
You actually don't have to watch it, Yeah, you do.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Its your job, Jea.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
To watch the Jets. It's to watch football.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Frostburg, I'm getting you fired from the Chargers, and you're
gonna have to do the Jets. You're gonna have to
win him.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Fire anybody sure?
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I can? I fire you right now?
Speaker 3 (14:58):
You're doing right now?
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Hey, I just fired you.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
You want to play me one on one?
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Jason?
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Fire me. See if I show up tomorrow, Tyson fired?
Oh no, I won't be here now.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Hey, if you don't come in tomorrow, don't even think
about Monday, all right.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
If I don't show up tomorrow, I guess I'll be
on Monday too.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Yeah, it's four day weekend. Wow, Thomas Simpson. If you
don't come in tomorrow, don't even think about coming in Monday.
Four day weekend, all right. So before we get into
Devin Booker, let's listen to the very humble Jason Tatum.
Following the Celtics win tonight over the seventy six Sixers,
(15:36):
who did everything they could to give the game back
to the Celtics. Jason Tatum started one out of eleven
from the floor, but he did hit three threes in
the fourth quarter. Did not have a great game, had
a good few minutes, and now the Celtics, who been
the top seed in the Eastern Conference since the Bucks
got knocked out, have a chance to actually move on
(15:57):
in Game seven. After the game was all over, on
the court, Tatum was asked about, you know, hey, your
play and going on to game seven and how you
did tonight, and he very humbly gave this answer.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Okay, so what does that mean? I understand it's kind
of funny.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
I understand. Does that mean? Does that mean Tiger didn't
have it? Queue up? I gotta I gotta go get it.
Hang on?
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Is that why am I paying anything?
Speaker 1 (16:35):
You did? Just dismiss him for the rest of the night.
Keep your keyboard. You're right, you're right. Okay, you're re
hired until the until the end of the show.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
All right, I'm down.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yeah, there you go. Okay, so here is the very
humble Jason Tatum.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Here we are. But Frostburg still fired.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeah it doesn't, but it doesn't matter. I circumvent Frostburg.
You can just circumvent f just you right around.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
I don't have the power, Sure I do.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
I just circumvented you right now. I just talk to
tight shirt. I just circumvented. We'll go right around you.
It's correct, just like we're gonna go right around your
offensive lineman into the backfield and sack Justin Bibert. That's
like how we're gonna do that at what circumvent your
ol Or we'll go right through you. We'll go right
like Quittin Williams, go right through you to go sack.
All right, So Frostburg, you're back. You're back to the
(17:27):
end of the show. Tyser, you're back to the end. Okay,
very good.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Lack say it, nickelback.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
It was closed.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I was fire me again. Well I thought that, man, can.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
You let me go? Yes? Really? Yes you? Yes? All right?
So here it is. Here's Jason Tatum, very humbly answering
questions the struggle through the first three quarters. With sixteen
points in that fourth quarter, Howne, you describe the confidence
you had to trust yourself down the strategy. I'm one
of humbly one of the best basketball players in the world.
(18:08):
You know, go through struggles, go through slump.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
It's a long game, and you know, thankful I got
some great teammates to hip.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I'm humbly, I'm humbly one of the best basketball the.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Best there is, the best, there was, the best there
ever will be.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, that's like saying no disrespect or don't take this
the wrong way, and then saying something no, no, what do
you mean to take this the wrong way? But I'm
kind of a big deal. What do you mean no disrespect?
What are you talking about? Hey, very humbly, I'm one
of the best basketball players in the world. Well, I mean,
he's not wrong, but he's not wrong. But you need
a hype man there for you. But but I don't
(18:45):
know that he knows. Phil Burr.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Where's somebody to come step in for you and be
that guy.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
I don't know that he knows what humbly means. Just
if you're gonna say you're one of the best bets,
but then just say it very humbly, I'm one of
the best basketball players in the world.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
Oh okay, okay, the word just not mean when I
think I think it means, No.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
It's really it's not the same. It is it is
not the same. No, very very humbly, I one of
the best things.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I'm the person on this show, Jason.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Very humbly, very humbly. When you say that, very humbly,
very humbly. You gotta get a very in there, very
very humble. I'm extremely humble. I'm so humble. You can't
even say I'm so humble, very very humble. I only
tell you how great I am once or twice a week. Listen.
I I look, I don't call myself a hero. But
if that's what, if that's what people want to say
(19:31):
about me, then that's that's that's okay. I wouldn't I
wouldn't say that about me. I wouldn't say I was
that great. But you know, if other people have that opinion,
who am I to say no in the way of that? No? No, no, yeah, no,
good for him though.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
I mean, look, you don't get to any level of
prominence in any discipline without a little bit of bravado
and a little bit of ego. In this case, he
was trying to downplay it and I just did a
terrible job at it.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, how do I say this so it doesn't sound
like I'm so full of myself? I know, I'll just
say very humbly. Yeah, that'll work. That's gonna work. Right there.
There we go, got it.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
No no problem either of us ever falling into that
trap on this show.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Yeah, that did work in gosh, do you want to
grab lunch after that?
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Twitter and out about a fresco Mike get swallowen down
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
This is just has all the earmarks of a disaster season.
Just I know, it's Oh, it's early. Let's wait, let's wait.
We just played five of the worst teams in baseball
and we lost every series we can.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
You don't think that about the Padres. They're a five
hundred team right now.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
Oh no, because the Padres aren't the Mets. You know, yeah, but.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
There's such a glorious history is he said?
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, but you know what? But no, the Padres. Honestly,
the Padres have more younger talent, whereas my fear is
the Mets. When you get old, you get old right away.
And I think that's what's happening to the Mets all there.
So Starling Marte's gotten dropped in the lineup seven spots.
Kanna can't hit all the guys that are thirty four
to thirty five years old. There's too many guys that
are relying on and and Surezer can't stay in the
(21:22):
rotation anymore, and who knows what he's got left and
another year left there paying him. I mean, they just
I think they're getting old overnight, and that's how it happens.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
So Kenna is more like cannot at this point, is
what you're saying, TJ.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Clearly, clearly they need to find someone who can do it.
Thank you very much, Steve. I appreciate it, buddy. Thanks Jap.
So let's get to Devin Booker here for a second,
because he had an absolutely craptastic night for the Suns
tonight and in an elimination game they lose one twenty
(21:55):
five to one hundred, and Booker never really got in
the game, and by that I mean he never really
got in made a difference. He was four out of
thirteen from the floor. He just scored twelve points in
thirty six minutes. Devin Booker, this is now with the
story of the Suns being this is where they've been.
We've talked about Kevin Durant and how his brand has
(22:17):
taken a big hit. Devin Booker has been treated like
a superstar for the last couple of years, right, but
he's been in the legal while. Now you know, he's
only twenty six. He's been in the legal while. And
Booker has shown that he's not the player that I
can make my team better and lead them to heights,
(22:38):
because there's a difference between being a star player who
scores a lot of points and gets his and makes
his team better. Booker scores points, that's what he does,
and if he was a little bit more responsible for
making his team better, they wouldn't have had to go
get Kevin Durant. They would have been in better spot.
They wouldn't have felt the need to be a Kevin
(22:59):
Durant away. But Booker needs to have that mid career
James Harden moment where even though Harden hasn't won and
he gets a lot of flak for the player he
is and being out of shape and now he's a
guy that can only do it once out of every
couple of three nights, he had that mid career moment
where he understood, I can be more than just a
(23:19):
guy that scores twenty seven a game and he went
to be someone who could score thirty thirty five a
game but also dish out ten to thirteen assists. And
what happened. The Rockets got even better. That got within
a hair's breadth of the NBA Championship in the NBA Finals,
but Harden had that moment where he realized, I can
be more than just a guy who scores that. Devin
(23:41):
Booker needs to understand that he needs that level that
moment as well. He needs to be someone who, hey,
I'm really bleep and talented. We should be doing a
little bit better than this. I've been the same kind
of guy here scoring twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty six.
I need to be able to make my team better.
You look at his player efficiency rating, He's twenty second, right.
(24:01):
Clint Capella has a better player efficiency rating then he does.
Chris tops Porzingis has a better player efficiency rating than
Devin Booker does. For a guy who's a superstar and
wants to be treated like a superstar and believes a superstar,
you got to have a player efficiency rate. You had
to be mentioned along among the top guys in the NBA,
among Giannis and jokichen em beating all these guys and
(24:22):
he's just not and it's not that he's not talented enough,
but he needs to take that next step. Okay, if
I don't score twenty eight a game, and I score
twenty four a game, but I now dish out nine
to ten assists or whatever, it's going to be. Whatever
he's got to do to be able to make his
team better. He needs that moment right now because Harden
had it and I didn't think he had it in him,
(24:43):
but he did. And Booker's got to have that same
moment right now because the Suns they're just spinning their wheels,
you know, they burst out. We thought they were gonna
win the NBA Finals. What happened, Booker disappeared. They lost
to the Bucks. Last two years, They've gotten eliminated in
game seven by thirty points in their last two times.
So yeah, things are not trending up, and the Sons
need to say this up. We need more than Devin
(25:04):
Booker if they're gonna get better. He's the guy that's
got to say, Okay, get on my back more. I
have the talent. I can do this, and maybe him
you know, being making the team better is simply I'm
gonna take all the shots. I'm gonna score thirty five
a night. Maybe that's what. But the Sons need something
more from him than what he's bringing. And there's too
(25:24):
many times where you look at a game and he
doesn't look like he's affecting the game and it seems
like he's mentally checked out, and he's got to give
them more than that. He's got to have that. If
he has that moment, yeah, the Sons can still be really,
really good. If not, it's gonna be more stuff like this. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
I think what you're trying to get to is figuring
out how he works with Chris Paul moving forward, right,
and whether he can adapt the game to me as
more a facilitator than a ball stopper. Right. I guess
that's the crux of the argument here, and with k
D there and when fully healthy, yeah, then and then
Chris Paul's there to facilitate. If not in his absence,
(26:04):
someone has to step up. In theory, that's Booker. But
he's a guy that hasn't averaged but five assists per
game for his career, So evolving there versus scoring, I mean,
he's that You're going into year nine, right, or eight
or nine at this point, that's a that's a long
long way and hardened change. But what happened is scoring
(26:26):
average went down a ton, and you'd see the the outburst,
the the big huge games like we saw in this
playoff series that goes to Game seven. You can get
it every couple of games where James Harden is electrifying
as a shooter. Devin Booker right now, that's all he's got.
(26:48):
I mean that that's his calling card. That was this
team's calling card to that point, right is trying to
make sure that it's the outscore out without play out
Last Survivors kind of philosophy to this team. But without
Chris Paul there, they have to evolve. And when you've
(27:08):
traded away to your depth, and this is where it's
gonna be curious to see how they reform this team
going forward. Who stays, who goes? What do you bring
back if Aton's on the outs, uh, and trying to
facilitate but also to prepare for those stretches of the
season because Chris Paul ain't playing eighty two, so you
got to find someone that can come in and distribute adequately.
(27:31):
If Booker's not going to be that guy.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Twitter at how about a fresco Mike hat swallowing down

Dy Todd Frinchman night as my chain's winning three two.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Time DJ fast ending it quickly in overtime for the Hurricanes. TJ.
That's well played right there. This is the It's the
spring of Me. There was a summer at Georgia on Seinfeld,
the spring of Me. The Jets get Aaron Rodgers, the
Knicks are alive in the second round of the playoffs.
(29:19):
The Hurricanes are going to the conference finals, and in
a Sanley cupper bust here where all the best teams
are losing. Oh, it's the spring of me.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that
you can still eat the wheel of cheese like Costanza.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
I could. I could there, taking a big bite out
of it like an apple. They're gonna build statues of
Rod Brenda more all in the Greater Rawley area. Wins
the Cup as a player, is gonna win the Cup
as a coach. Oh, it's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Fat, hey, Jason beat it with all this knes hockey talk.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Okay, whoa, whoa Wait a minute, okay, alright, hang on,
guys from the front page of the players tributning you ready. Yeah,
it reads, if you can't beat them, join them. It's
a picture of Katie in a Nuggets jersey.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Yeah, I like it. I like it.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
I really thought you were gonna say we we don't
exist anymore and we've merged with somebody else.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Tell me, tell me that that's not a believable story, though.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Oh sure, can't. Look. Look, Katie's gonna have all of
a sudden, you're gonna see burner accounts with Katie and
all the all the jerseys of the team still alive
in the playoffs. He's gonna be it. He'll be in
a Nuggets jersey, a Lakers jersey, he'll be.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
On that Browns jersey, the twenty seventh name on it.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
He'll be nixt jersey. He'll be I'll be be insane.
It'll that's where Katie's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Can't beat them, join them?
Speaker 1 (30:44):
That's what it's.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
That's what Katie's tombstone is gonna say.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah, yeah, that's the first word. Is Wikipedia page NBA
Hall of Famer Kevin Durant, who found out during his
career that he was better off joining teams he couldn't
beat the season before I had an incredible career which
saw him land blah blah blah blah blah. That'll be
the first line of Wikipedia. That's pretty good. You know
what you could be You could it could be worse.
(31:09):
It could be he's he look he uh he is someone.
Look he saw his his stock take a big hit tonight.
Because contending teams aren't gonna say we're Kevin Duran away
from winning anymore. The Suns were at the the middle
of the pack of the Western Conference, you know, but
that's got's gonna be it now because you know he's
gonna get upset in Phoenix at some point soon. Are
(31:31):
you really he's gonna make it another whole season in
Phoenix now, it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
Well until now, just a question of all it takes
is one team to say, you know what, we can
shuffle it up. He's good for sales and for TV
games or whatever whatever other metrics you decide, and you
have some owner decides that they want in on the
KD business.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
That's all it takes. We've seen it. How many how
many times have we seen it?
Speaker 4 (31:55):
Westbrook, Harden, Chris Paul, guys bounce around so many others
that have a hall of jerseys going all the way down.
It's you know they use they made quilts out of
their jerseys like most people do. Old concert t shirts.
Uh that you see all the time. Uh. Still a
great player, just a the magic formula was Oh wait,
(32:17):
it was the Warriors because they win.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Twitter it out about a Fresco Mike get swollen down
the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon.
All right, now, let me say this because today was
a big day in the NFL. We've talked a lot
about schedule release da who won the best released video? Though?
Oh man, I don't know Chargers the Titan. I think
it's the Titans. Come on, man, the Titans. With people
(32:41):
not knowing the logos of the teams.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
They didn't know the Titans paid those people.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Dude. The one person that saw the one person saw
the Chargers logo and said, Lightning McQueen. That was pretty good, Jason.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
There's not that many me's out there.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Lightning McQueen. I will shout it from some place. Very odd.
Schedule lease day in the NFL playing the opening night
game against the Chiefs. The Detroit Lions playing in the
first Monday night football game, the New York Jets.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Humbly they stink.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
The Lions and Jets are the two must see teams
we're getting week one of the NFL season. You tell
me things are impossible. I tell you nothing is impossible.
If the Jets of the Lions can become this sought
after in such a short amount of time, then you
can realize your dreams and you can do it. You
(33:36):
can achieve. If you're hearing my voice right now seeing
the Jets suddenly be a team that hadn't been on
national TV more than once in years. Now suddenly they're
on five times and they got a Black Friday game.
Dreams can come true comes down to five words. Make
your dreams come true.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Old live drop of Shia Labuff get.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Oh do it the Jets' true. The Jets and the
Lions have been able to do that in one fell swoop.
It's real. You know. People say the meek aren't cond
inherit the earth, though I think they are. I think
they're inheriting now.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
If the meek inherit the earth, then Jason Tatums at
the front of the line good.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
The NFL will be regretting this one.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
No, they won't.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Not.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
When the Jets start out six and oh it's oh
my god, Rogers could be undefeated. He could go eight,
you go seventeen and oh this year, look how good
they are. Twitter it out about a Fresco. Mike gets
