(00:48):
have a decision that I would make in sports. It's
gonna surprise you coming up in a few minutes, but
you just ban the Knicks. No, it might have to
do with the Knicks a little bit. But you know,
we talked about John Morant a few minutes ago. To
continue that conversation that we were having, police had to
perform a welfare check at John Morant's in Tennessee. He
(01:08):
put out some cryptic messages on social media, rather on Instagram,
saying I love you bomb, I love you Pops, I
love you baby girl. I'm out. Wait a minute, what
does this mean? Is he gonna do something? Hang on?
Police went and checked on him and they said he
was okay. He is taking a break from social media. Now.
A few minutes ago we debated how much of a
(01:31):
oh that means you're taking a break from social media.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I don't know that this thing is solved. I think
he needs to be looked at. I don't looked after.
I don't think this is one of those oh yeah,
that's what you mean when you're taking a break from
social media, you say goodbye like that. I don't think so.
But the next part of the conversation is this is now,
here's John Morant, and here was a scare today, right,
there was a scare today for me. And I've said
(01:54):
that he's got to get a long suspension because he
had a chance to distantimself from guns and people that
are bad influence on his career, near fights and things
that happen instances with a gun, and he decided nope,
I'm gonna still put up a video on social media
(02:15):
that shows me holding a gun waving it in a car,
and now I'm in trouble. He needs a long suspension
for many reasons because he has embarrassed the league. He
has shown that, Hey, I'm not protecting the shield. What
he's doing is illegal in a lot of states. When
you have a can't have a gun out to wave
it on Instagram. That's not what the founding fathers met with.
(02:38):
Hey and right to bare arms. Oh, I met like
I want to be fun waving a gun on Instagram. No,
that's not it. And the NBA has to make sure
that its product is not something that people are have
a connotation of the NBA. Everybody is near guns and
while a lot of players have guns, a lot of
(03:00):
players have grown up in different circumstances unfortunately, have been
around guns. This is not the This is not what
the NBA wants to put out there. We have a
big deal going on in our country with guns right now.
We have mass shootings all the time and it's a
very big deal. So the NBA really wants to make sure, Hey,
we don't put this out there. And John Morant has
had a chance. They gave him a really light suspension,
(03:23):
basically spending him two games because the Grizzly said just
stay away from the team for six games, and then
they said eight game suspension, but six already served, so
two more games. So the NBA gave him a chance,
and John Morant had a chance to say, Hey, I
got to make sure I'm doing things right. I'm not.
I got to put myself in good positions. And he
did not. But here's where I say, I look back
(03:45):
and I go, m this is what I'm worried about.
And I'll go back to Bill Parcells. What most legendary
coaches in the National Football League? And he is, oh,
and I go back to a lot of things. Bill
Parcell says he was asked once what it's the time
that you're most nervous about as a coach, Like what
time you worried about your team the most? And he
always said the same thing. Whenever we're not around the
(04:08):
off season, bye weeks. Whatever's time where players are not
around the team, because that's when bad things happen. That's
when I get phone calls in the middle of the night,
a player has been arrested. The players had this happen.
This happened because you're not around the structure of the team.
You're not around you don't have anybody to be beholden to.
You're not around people who can influence you and set
(04:29):
you on the right way. And look, many players come
from different upbringings where hey, I had a tough time.
I was here, I was around people I shouldn't be around.
You know, I talked about Sauce Gardner, who is doing
video games now to get people away from being in
gangs and say, hey, live out being a gangster in
the in a video game, don't do it in real life.
So that's the time that Bill Parcels always said, I
(04:49):
was so nervous because things happen when you're away from structure.
It doesn't always have to be something like that. It
could be hey, I'll stay out till two three o'clock
in the morning. Just anything you get out of anything
could form any number of bad hands.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
In this particular case, you've got enough incidences to draw
it back to John Moran specifically that away from a team,
outside of that structure, there there have been enough notes.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Of caution at this point. Yeah, it's and like I said,
it doesn't need to be that. It could be stuff
staying out, laid at a bar drive, it could be
any any kind of bad decision. And if John Morant
gets a lengthy suspension, here's after I said he needs
to be suspended for a long time when he give
him argument against it, because this is what I would
worry about. Morand has had a chance to show that
(05:37):
hey to take it upon himself, you got to make
better decisions. He has clearly shown he's not done that.
He's someone who needs the structure of a team and
needs other veteran players or coaches to make sure he
is on the right path and not the path to ruin.
If he's away from the team for a year, is
(05:58):
that gonna happen or is he just gonna spend his
time away from the team, away from structure, away from
good influences. And he's here with his buddy on Instagram
and he's up to things that he really shouldn't get
up to, and this story gets even more serious than
it is now. That's what I would worry about, and
that's why that's the only thing I can say about
a lengthy suspension is that if he's away from the
(06:21):
team how much does that help him? It doesn't it.
If anything, it'll make him just want to give up more. Well,
they're already keeping me away. I'm just I'm never gonna
see the money. The contract I signed one hundred and
ninety four million not happening for me, and I'm gonna
make a bad decision into a worse decision. That's what
I would worry about. And that's the argument I would
make against a long suspension, simply because you want him
(06:43):
to be around the team, and could you find a way.
So I'm hoping the NBA finds a way to say
we can suspend him, but he needs to be around
the team. You know, you need to spend him. He
can't play, he's gonna lose money, but he needs to
have these check ins. Whatever it's going to be, there's
got to be some kind of acceptable outcome, because right
now there is no good outcome.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Well, because we've seen people that have been suspended or
in the in the past in multiple leagues where they
can still practice, just not be able to be activated.
So potential is there. What's curious, and we know I
think more about the NFL, CBA and where certain pieces
(07:25):
of these discussions go in terms of what the league
can and can't impose. But I guess that would be
it right if you are suspended, how much can they
mandate counseling treatment, Whatever experts, not you and I sitting
here on the radio, but whatever experts close to the situation,
(07:48):
with all the pertinent details can can ascertain he needs
to achieve to get back in the good graces of
the league. Right there was there were rumors about alcohol.
So let's just say, for the sake of argument and
an example, you go through a treatment program, you stay,
and you've got check ins and meetings, what have you.
(08:11):
You've got that path, that avenue. Do you have to
go to a counselor once twice a week, whatever the
case may be. I don't know what in the CBA,
the union versus the league, what can be mandated in
terms of here's your path back to the league. But
I do agree with you that excising him from the
(08:33):
league altogether doesn't serve anybody at all.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
I think there's got to be a way. I mean, look,
you're a commissioner, and I say this all the time.
A commissioner has a wide ranging latitude of powers. The
only time they don't have. It is when they want
to say, look, I'm just a commissioner, what can I do?
I mean, this would be a this would be a
breakthrough to say, listen, you need to make sure that
you understand exactly how serious it is. So here's a
long suspension, but you're going to be allowed to be
(08:59):
around the team, and yes we're gonna docu money, but
we care about your future. There's got to be some
kind of way because right now there is no good
outcome right because it's either he's not suspended at all
and that doesn't serve him any because he's gonna say, well,
I can still go do I didn't get caught for anything.
I can still go behave however I want to. And
(09:20):
other pointed me he would think he would have learned
that first time with the night games, with that suspension,
but he didn't. So he's going to think, Okay, he's
gonna be able to make another bad decision when you're
not punished for things that you make that you tend
to Okay, I can go make another bad decision. It
doesn't work for him, it doesn't help him. It does
help other players who are going, well, now I can
(09:42):
go do whatever the hell I want you because I'm
not getting a suspension doesn't help the league at all.
But a long term suspension, while it definitely helps the league,
doesn't help him because he's away from basketball and it's
something that he really, really really needs. So I need
some kind of good outcome because right now, there those
are the two think you could potentially do, and neither
(10:03):
of them is the best.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Well, and that's the thing. The latter, as you lay
it out, becomes the league can lose on a number
of levels. Number one, the player and what he brings
to the game. But people would say, well another star,
he blew his opportunity whatever. That's cold and callous, and
that's the other thing the league doesn't want, right should
something befall him out while he's out of the league,
(10:28):
it reflects on the league that they didn't take care
of one of their own. So they're kind of in
that difficult situation of well, we did all we could,
and critics will come back and say, well did you?
And Adam Silver will get the Roger Goodell treatment for
at least a little while in terms of how they
handle it.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
It's a delicate situation.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
And as you relay and laid out just the permutations
off it and the ramifications within locker rooms are huge.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
If if I thought for a second that the NBA
could come out with a decision now and finalize it, great,
But they really need to continue to take a look
at this. And I know that people want a decision
soon because this has been sitting around for a while.
(11:22):
You know what happened. I mean because because Adam Silver
gonna say, well, the video was grainy, we gonna see No,
you kind of know it happened. You can figure that
out right, You kind of know what's going on. So
what I'm hoping, and I always want to hope for
the right thing, is I'm hoping that the reason the
NBA has not come down with the punishment for John
Morant is because you can take the time because there's
(11:45):
no games going on. He's not missing games, not missing anything.
You can wait. It's a downtime now, and that they're
gathering information and maybe trying to figure out a way
to talk with the NBA Players Association, talk with a team.
This is what we want to do. Let's get on
the same page and go forward with one decision that
(12:06):
works the best that's how take your time, take your
time and make the right decision. Do right, do it properly,
don't take your time like Adam Silver and hope that
no one's gonna remember. And suddenly opening night it's like,
oh yeah, well, John Ran if you forgot about that,
you know, we had the Summer League and everything else,
and you know, you know that's my fault. I forgot. Ah,
you know what he's playing. Let him just play.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Now.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
I'm hoping that they take some time and they make
the right decision because Adam Silver, you never know, the
guy doesn't want to do anything. And when he and
I'll just go back. I can say many things, but
I'll go back to the John Moran suspension. He sat
out six games, oh eight games, but it's only two more.
So he really got a big time slap on the
wrist for something that was very very serious. So I'm
hoping he'll do the right thing. But I never hold out, hope,
(12:47):
I but I never hold out and say for sure, oh,
Adam Silver is gonna take care of this because he
doesn't want to do anything.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Well no, but that's it. Like right now we're in
the h hope part of this story. One that John
Morant truly from the statement that was issued, truly does
recognize what's on the table here in terms of his
NBA future five year, one hundred and ninety four million
dollar contract on the court. The shoe deal, right, because
(13:16):
the shoes have been shelved at this point. They're gonna
end up in the giant warehouse with all the xcess
yasis at this point. So there's all that Rena.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I actually saw a guy wearing Easies today, did you, Yeah?
At the dog park. I was wearing easy today. Yeah,
you get him on discount. I don't know, but boy,
they look you know, they look like they look like
big snow shoes, like what you should be wearing, like
if you were walking in Antarctica. About that, Like they
look like big snow shoes. I'll have to go back
and look again for the aesthetic of it all, but.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Just the the idea of you've got all these other
parts to your life and future that hang in the balance.
So one would think and hope that he gets it
and the people around him can get that into his head,
and by that I mean his family, because much has
been made of well, whatever happened to the relationship with
(14:09):
his dad, which was chronicled quite a lot early. So
all of those kinds of things to where you can
get some people around you to maybe influence you back
away from well where you're headed down this path, and
that the league and the Players Association, with whatever tools
and resources they have, can help adjudicate this properly. But
(14:33):
also if he needs help based on that Instagram litany
of post one would suggest, would suggest to me that
perhaps he does that he gets the help that he
needs to get back towards that huge crest that looked
like it was headed for his career.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Twitter at how about a Fresco? Mike gets swollen down

Taking you back to the fall of nineteen eighty four.
Hold os top of the charts with this song out
of Touch, out of Time here on Fox Sports Radio
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon
Long Way to the Post on this song, because now
here come the dings.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding
ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding day
ding ding ding ding ding ding.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
So before we get into a big choice that I
would make in sports after what happened tonight last couple
of nights, let me just say this. We have not
done this story yet tonight. But Michael Winger has left
running the Clippers, and now he's going to run the
Washington Wizards. Big deal, Right, guy left leaving running the Clippers.
(16:49):
Now he's going to run the Wizards. The big question,
how would Chris Berman announce Michael Winger leaving the Clippers
to go run the Wizards. Let's go tee it up? TJ.
Can't even keep a straight face. Now that Winger is
(17:09):
running the Wizards. Look for Washington to trade down to
number seventeen in the DRAFTDJ.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Wow, a whole lot of problematic songs around teenage years TJ.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
The Wizards hopefully not headed for a heartbreak with Winger.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
That's a good one, TJ. He had a hell of
a lion's mane, that's for sure. Leaving the Clippers. As
far as Winger goes, Los Angeles says, easy, Come, easy
go DJ. The Wizards hoping to not be miles away
as contenders, Hey go with Winger.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Come on, you can follow that. And there's another easy
one to follow that one right up along the same
wave like come ONDJ. Hopefully the Wizards will continue to
be hungry for a That's good. I was going for
another one, TJ. Clearly Jason Smith likes to do this
whole Winger thing, and he's gonna find a way to
(18:12):
bring in Mike Harmon's daughter Madaline. No, no, I was
just going for I was just going for better days coming.
But that's okay, yes, yes, oh I didn't waiting to
do that.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
I'll play that to my daughter in the morning and
I'll have send whatever video response she has to you.
That's more Winger songs than most of America new existed.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Oh man, you know, for a long time I listened
to I had it the the Winger like that. They
used to do the top five, like you could buy
like the top five songs by a band for like
five dollars. I was like, oh, I had to I
had the Winger Top five. That was I was all those.
I don't think Madaline made it, No, I don't think so.
But it was definitely seventeen and headed for a heartbreak
miles away. Uh easy, easy, go easy, come easy, TJ.
(19:12):
I really I've been waiting for that all day, all day.
Uh So, look, let me just say something here, because
this is where the convergence of a lot of storylines
come in. It's kind of like the multiverse with all
the storylines coming into one, except it's not as messy
as marvel So Tonight, as you know my hockey team
got eliminated. All right, Hurricanes lose Matthew could Chuk, who
(19:32):
is fast becoming my least favorite hockey player.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
It's a wizard. You want to talk about finding the puck? Yeah,
he's a winger on Panthers. Djer is a wizard. Winger
is a wizard.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
There you go. I had no feelings about him six
days ago. But a golden quadruple overtime, a Goland overtime,
and a go with four seconds left tonight. Yeah, not
a big fan. Probably gonna be the player of the day.
We got to hear the Panthers announcer lose his voice
during the thing. He can't go over time, but I will.
(20:10):
I'm being honest with you with this. Let's just say
you could wave a magic wand and I may have one.
They may have one. Maybe you wave a magic wand
and say Jason, and we'll deal with right now. Yeah.
I could put the Knicks and the Hurricanes back in
the playoffs right to where they are now, Eastern Conference Finals.
I could put the Knicks back. Just put him back
(20:33):
in like to play it. Let's say to play a series, right,
say put him back into play, not put him in
down three zip, put him back into play a series.
Knicks go back into play the Heat or the Celtics
in a seven game series, Hurricanes go back into play
the Panthers in a seven game series. Right, let's just
say you could do it, wave a magic wand and say, okay,
I can put those teams in there, okay. Or I
could give you something else. Immediately. I would be excited
(20:56):
about this because I would think I would think, oh,
I'm getting something. I don't have to have one thing
and do something off like but you have to eat
a bowl of crickets. No. No, you could put the
Hurricanes the Knicks back in the blooteam. Or you could
give me and say, or I can guarantee you the
Richmond Greyhounds win the EPL in the last episode of
(21:19):
ted Lasso. And I'm telling you I would pick ted Lasso.
I would. I would pick Richmond winning the EPL. Over
that you would want another week of that, I would.
I would love maybe maybe in this alternate universe Earth
nine eighty seven. Yet, Julius Randall is the all team.
(21:43):
I've invested so much emotionally in ted Lasso, even though
this season isn't the best. It's it's the last one
in theory.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
The emotions I had this season were not the ones
I hoped for. While I'm watching a television.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
But watching the game last I won't say what happened
No Sport, but they have a big game last night,
and I'm watching the game, watching it during the show
and I'm going, oh, oh, that was a big play
right there. And my wife looks at me and goes,
this is a television show. I go, I know, I'm
wrapped up in this. I'm rooting for it, like I
can be rooted for my team. That was a big save.
Oh they need they did their job. Though it's as
(22:18):
roy as roy Ken would say, it's a fake game.
It's it doesn't matter and you're a fake person, and
this is a fake interview. I mean it's it's really
one of the greatest exchanges of the season. It's a
friendly it's a fake game, you're a fake person. And
then the guy's taking a selfie with him. Uh no.
But I'm so wrapped up in this, like, yeah, I
want I want to see them win. I want to
see Jamie and Sam win and Roy Well. I want
(22:40):
to see them all win. I want to see Higgins.
I'm not moving because I'm not moving till the end
of the game. It's a good I want to see them.
I really if you could pick all those things, because
I just think at the end, you look, Ted Lasso
is gonna have one or two outcomes, right, they win
the English Premier League or they don't. And if they don't,
it would be such a huge end the series potentially
(23:01):
on a on a such a downturn after all this.
And I get that the series has been about and
they you know, they talk about it a lot. Winning
and losing doesn't matter. Becoming getting better as a player
and becoming a better person. That's what it's on, and
that's the big message of the series. But it's like, wow,
you're gonna tell me you can do that and fall short,
but you're not really falling short. I'm like, I don't know,
(23:22):
it's all steps.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Just at the end of it, if they lose, you
put Jannis's speech and you can fade to black.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Ted, was this season of failure? Failure? Was this a failure?
Is a failure? That's what I would do. I mean really,
I would I would pick Richmond. I would pick Richmond
winning the English Premier League.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yeah, a couple of moments I know in the fake
that really got you excited in the fake game. A
couple that my daughter who's still playing and she's got
a big tournament this weekend and some stuff going on. Uh,
she was watching it from the soccer perspective, going that
made no sense. Oh yeah, like that not the game,
but just the physiology of about like oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(24:03):
well what does that take? Fifteen and they just said
good enough?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
How do you get around that guy? Guy just falls down?
Is that what happened? I mean, no, go back and
watch how many goals are off side by like ten years,
every like ten yards. It's like every big through ball,
it's like the striker is fifteen yards released, yet he's
already off and fas ten yards past the defender. That's
often okay, but you know, I mean this is set up. Hey,
(24:28):
Mahomes looks his guys. Why don't he Nicole Hartman, there's Tyreek.
Can't he just dusted everybody? I mean, is not there anymore? No,
you know, he's with the But I think I would
I would pick Ted last one, Yeah, I think I would.
I think Ted ted Lasso is gonna live more in
in look, this season by the Knicks, will you know?
(24:48):
Was great that they made the playoffs and everything, but ted
Lasso's gonna live forever, and I'm hoping that they continue
to bring it back and this is not the end
of Ted Lasso. Yeah, I think for.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Me selfishly, the show we do here four hours a
night on Fox Sports Radio. You can download past episodes
wherever you get your podcast. Give it five stars. We'll
love you forever and ever, Amen.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Smith.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
I I just think that, uh, I take another week
of the Knicks because you riding the lightning just like
you were just describing, and I could watch the it
was like, you know, the scene in what was it
Batman Forever? Remember when they stick that thing on Jim
Carrey's head and he's got like the ducks and everything,
(25:35):
like crazy chaotic cartoons going on.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
That's I kind of see what was going on in
your head going back to Batman for George Clooney, the
man who killed the Batman.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Well, I'm thinking that it's the Kilmer one, Tim and.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Nicole Kid and then and then yeah, okay, yeah, Tommy.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Lee Jones on one side, Barrens in there like it's good.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
It's I was entertained.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
But he creates that device where he can read everybody's mine, right,
so he slaps its like look at this and it's
like all these crazy old Tom and Jerry Kartcheon.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
But that could still in heartbreak for me. Then I could.
You could put the Knicks back in for another week,
but it would still in badly for me. Maybe he's
still in it's an alternate universe. It's the Knicks. Are
you gonna find a universe? He the guy that was
third team All NBA in this alternate Hey, how good
is Julius Randless universe? Juliet Well, they just call him Julius.
(26:35):
Oh really Yeah? Twelve time first team All Star guys
won eight championships with the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Maybe Hits a second shot in this alternate universe instead
of his one for ten. You don't know, but it
would give us another week of content. We're not talking
about Ted Lasso for a full week.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
No, no, but still I would. But by my level
of happiness, I think I would like that more. I
think I would selfishly, I'm on the other side right now.
Let's say MANSI, Well, where would you be if a
fake team could win a championship and a TV show
you love, or one of your real teams, the Clippers,
to still be in the playoffs. What would you pick
right now?
Speaker 7 (27:11):
I am not caught up on ted Lasso. You actually
just reminded me. I like to binge.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Okay, I are you caught up on the Clippers? They're out?
Speaker 2 (27:19):
No, I'm not okay.
Speaker 8 (27:21):
I refuse to believe that.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Archologically, I hate pachologically. Not got up for that. If
they play tomorrow, I got I gotta understand they play tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
Yeah, that's how I feel, probably the Clippers.
Speaker 8 (27:37):
But you know it's a good one. It's a good one.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
You totally reminded me that I gotta go watch ted Lasso,
and now I can binge it. Now I can actually
watch more than one episode every week.
Speaker 8 (27:45):
Because I hate that.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
He feels like you're doing a commercial for Apple Plus. Hey,
binge ted Lasso right now? Catch up? Catch up with
this entire season before the finale next week. Hey, don't
have to worry about the password sharing crackdown because this
is Apple Plus.
Speaker 8 (28:00):
Right exactly, exactly, nicely done.
Speaker 7 (28:03):
Yeah, guys, one game on the ice today, and mister
Jason Smith is not happy about it. But we got
to talk about the Panthers sweeping the Hurricanes because they're
headed to their first Stanley Cup Final in twenty seven years.
And Matthew Kuchuk is him. He is him two goals,
the game winning one, leaving less than five seconds on
the clock. So the eighth seeded Panthers are headed to
(28:24):
the Stanley Cup Final. They're either going to face the
Golden Knights or the Stars. Those two teams have Game
four tomorrow Thursday, eight pm Eastern time.
Speaker 8 (28:32):
Vegas leads the series three zero.
Speaker 7 (28:35):
There is an NBA game tomorrow and it's Game five between.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
The Miami Heat.
Speaker 7 (28:40):
Go Yimmy and the Celtics. Gave Vincent today. Wood was
listed as questionable with the spring left ankle.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
fIF Jimmy, So obviously you've bet on the Heat. Yeah,
he did not.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
And I should have. I love Jimmy Butler. He's my favorite.
Speaker 8 (28:57):
I love him.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
He's so awesome. I just like his personality too. He
seems like a fun guy to have a cocktail with.
You know what I'm saying, Probably gonna play some good music.
Speaker 8 (29:05):
You know what I'm saying, He's gonna play Nickelback probably,
just so you know. So he likes Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
You said flowers, you said good music. He's gonna play Nickelback.
Speaker 8 (29:17):
Hey, it could be what depends on which Nickelback song.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
You don't imagine having a conversation about Nickelback lyrics and thinking, wow, man,
that's really deep. What does it mean when he says
I'm gonna sing to the steering wheel? It means you're
driving and singing. Oh that's deep, man, I never thought
about that.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
I mean, right there, you're envisioning your lover and you're
singing with all your heart. What does it mean when
I tried to kiss Kim and I nearly missed? Like,
did I fall down? Did I fall out of the car?
How did I miss kissing Kim? I don't understand.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
This is all possible, is what I'm saying. Guys.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
Now, we obviously know there's a lot of open coaching
vacancies in the NBA. The Sons have narrowed their head
coaching searched down to four candidates, Nick Nurse, Doc Rivers,
Son's assistant Kevin Young, and King's assistant Yordy Fernandez.
Speaker 8 (30:02):
Moving on to Major League Baseball.
Speaker 7 (30:04):
A lot of games victories for the White Sox, the Mariners,
the Brewers, the Rangers, who are in first place in
the American West Division. The Hot Rays, still hot best
team in Major League Baseball thirty six and fifteen. They
took down the Blue Jays, Nationals also with victory Marlins.
Speaker 8 (30:20):
The Orioles came back to beat the Yankees nine to six.
In the Bronx, the.
Speaker 7 (30:24):
Braves avoided the sweep Ozzie Alby's with the walk off
sack fly, and they beat my Dodgers four to three.
The Cubs with the four to two victory over your Mets, Jason.
The Angels completed three games sweep of the Red Sox,
outscoring them seven to three home runs from Shoheo Tani
and Mike Trout.
Speaker 8 (30:40):
For Mike Trout, it was number.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
Three hundred and sixty two, passing Joe DiMaggio on the
all time home run list. And the Phillies, Yeah, who
had lost seven out of their last nine games, beat
the Diamondbacks six to five and ten innings thanks to
Alec Bohm hitting the winning single. But Tray Turner, guys,
he sucked. I said it earlier. Even his mom told
him he sucked.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Okay, place sucks.
Speaker 7 (31:01):
He was over four in the game before hitting that
two run homer in the bottom of the ninth they
need to tie the game. He was two for twenty
during the homestand everybody was booing him.
Speaker 8 (31:12):
He said his mom booed him today, but he was
the MVP.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
And then the Twins outscored the Giants seven to one
at home. Joe Ryan, their pitcher, picked up win number seven,
which ties for the most victories in MLB so far. Guys,
this was fun. See you soon, Audio, good luck. I'm
gonna watch I'm so excited?
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Are you and you and your boyfriend watch?
Speaker 8 (31:34):
He actually has never watched that.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
What's What's Popesratorial Poppy Trulo?
Speaker 8 (31:41):
He's never watched Ted Lasso. He uhh.
Speaker 7 (31:43):
When it came out and the hype was so high,
he was like, oh, I don't want to watch it
because I don't wanted to disappoint me and he never
watched him. Maybe now that it's coming to the end,
he'll watch it, but he's never watched him.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Would you watch the Clippers with you? Oh?
Speaker 7 (31:54):
Yeah, no, he has to point that yeapointments coming there?
Speaker 8 (31:59):
Yeah, he knows to like, oh, do I get her
at tequila shot? Because they're about to lose again.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
You know he knows because that could have been That
could have been one of those make or break moments
on your first date. So who do you root for
the Clippers?
Speaker 9 (32:09):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (32:10):
Wow, how funny?
Speaker 1 (32:12):
And he said, I'll root for anything you want me to.
Speaker 8 (32:15):
It really was funny that you say that. When we
first met, I was like, who do you root for
in the NBA? And he's like, oh, I don't like
the Lakers? And I was like, great, great, maybe there'll
be a date number two and there.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Was Oh, so you root for the clip Wow, that's
a tough you know what. I'll be right back. I
got to make a phone call and go to the bathroom.
I will be right back. Don't worry. Don't come looking
for me. I promise I'll be right back. I'll be
right back.
Speaker 8 (32:38):
I'm so rude, I can't.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
It's a lot of heartbreak coming. I'm not in for that.
Speaker 8 (32:46):
It is a lot of heartbreak.
Speaker 1 (32:48):

Aaron Rodgers gonna be Aaron him clutching his calf. Uh.
Now the other play in the night comes to us
just a little bit ago from Kyrie Irving. Yahoo had
(35:49):
a report tonight that potentially the Lakers I'm sorry that
Lebron James's whole retirement conversation is to pressure the Lakers
to sign Kyrie Irving. This is nothing knew. This is
something that's talking about Kyrie stalking the Lakers. I thought
he was going to be a Laker middle of the season.
So you know, here's a report that, Hey, this is
maybe what Lebron is doing. He wants to pressure the Lakers.
(36:11):
I'll talk about retiring, not playing. You got to bring
in the guys I want. Kyrie Irving now has had
to deal with this on social media for the past
thirty six hours and as Kyrie put a message out there,
he's not happy having to deal with it.
Speaker 9 (36:26):
My last thing that I'm going to say after I
say I love y'all, stop mentioning me on twitters.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
All y'all fan bases. Stop mentioning me right now.
Speaker 9 (36:34):
Please, it is still the Western Conference in Eastern Conference finals,
or excuse me, Denver's going to the finals.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
We're still waiting for Boston and Miami. Can y'all please
leave me out of this? Please? Can I just be
with my family in peace?
Speaker 9 (36:46):
Y'all got people at my dinner table discussing what my
free agency plans are.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
Stop that, y'all think it's funny. Please stop that.
Speaker 9 (36:55):
Like I actually like having piece of mon when I'm
at the crib, right, Like, I see y'all at I
see all y'all mentions. Okay, I said it. I see
all y'all stuff y'all be saying. I see all y'all families.
I get it, I get it. I'm just as excited
as y'all are. But you gotta chill though. You gotta
chill though, Come on, like we can have some fun
with it. But the love is already there, right, the
message is spread. I appreciate your ancestory. I'm thank you
(37:17):
for being tapped in, and I appreciate all y'all for tunity.
But please, all your fan bases, like stop mentioning me,
just for like the next month or two or three
whenever I make my decisions, please stop mentioning me.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
I love y'all. Dude, Stay off social media. The Lakers
are best. Stay off social media.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
You don't like it.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Stay on social media. No one's paying you, you know,
playing on social media. Stay on social media. I mean,
I mean, I have no sympathy for you. Stay on
social media. I don't like what people are saying about me.
Don't get on social media. That's what you did. Don't
get on social media. Here's the thing. Number one. Don't
be good and nobody will care. Fans.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Don't boo or care about about the whereabouts or nobody's
And you.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Know what else?
Speaker 7 (37:59):
I like.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
I like the fact that now he's like, hey, I
don't want to make headlines because it's the it's the playoffs,
the NBA. This is a guy who for the last
three years has done nothing but make headlines that have
been headaches for his teams. Whenever he feels like it,
during the season, during the playoffs, when he's with the team,
when he's not with the team. Oh but now, hey,
let's respect the playoffs and let's let's let let's let's
(38:21):
let's not do this.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
After the Mavericks were eliminated, he's shown up to more
playoff games than a lot of the guys that were
participating on teams. Some of the no show efforts that
we've seen. You know, it was in the crowd, Carrie,
he still showed up. I mean, we we will he Bates. Okay, Okay,
(38:44):
here's right, turn this round. Here's what I do agree
with him on.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
Let's not talk about him for a while, exasperate, let's
not talk about him for I'm good not talking about
him for a while. I'm okay you I'm okay with that.
I'm good without talking about it.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I know what I would in QA though, if I
were going to say, send a note to him on
social media, be like, do you guys regret not going
for it and giving up at the end of the
season given the way the playoffs have gone out, I'll
hang up and listen for my answer.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
You know, this is what's going to make this happen
for the Lakers. D'Angelo Russell started out pretty good, and
him and Austin Reeves looked like they were a pretty
good combo in the back court. And then d Loo
just disappeared. He he was a if the Lakers get
a chance, hey, you can go get Kyrie in the
(39:35):
off season and Lebron, Hey, I'll buy in all of this.
You know that's gonna convince the Lakers to go do it.
You know they'll go do it. Well, Hey, we're gonna
keep the same guys we like, we're gonna keep Reeves
and Hachimura and and Vanderbilt will kill Oh when we
can go get Kyrie, maybe Kyrie will be great because
I've always said, I've always said why not, Right, if
you need, why not take the gamble on Kyle.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
This is gonna make it happen. You make the gamble.
It's a one year gamble. And if it doesn't work,
you just shuffle up and deal, because you know what,
someone else will buy into the Nuns.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
This, This will absolutely happen, and Kyrie will be a Laker.
And oh don't it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. Twitter At,
how about a Fresco Mike gets swollen Down The Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon live from
the Tireck dot Com Studio is coming up next my
buddy Ben Maller. This is Fox
