You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Well, I don't know what rock bottom feels like, so
this seems like it's awfully close.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So this is how tonight's gonna go. Welcome inside the
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon. Specher beat the Mets,
sweep the Mets, step right up, Ben kill the Mets.
I told you last night that this season was over.
Nothing has happened to make you think of their wise.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Ah.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
How might hits to beat Alonso have tonight?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Jason?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Hey, look, Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown, the defense gave
up a late score. They lose to Pittsburgh fourteen to seven.
Kenny Pickett was awful, but Pittsburgh doesn't. Pittsburgh does enough
to beat New York fourteen to seven.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
T J H.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We're live the tirack dot com studios. Tirec dot com
will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tyrack dot com the way tire buying should be. Yeah,
it's gonna be that kind of night. Steve de Seger
is gonna have big Mets stats every single update.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Oh okay, then.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
They were down fourteen to too early in this and
lost fourteen. Really, I'm telling you the best thing. This
is why thirty one other teams or twenty nine of
the teams are very excited right now because of the deadline. Surezer, Verlander, Marte, Canna, Escobar, everybody.
I'd even train a lotzo at this point, even Tho
it's gonna be out for a minute. I even Lindor

(01:58):
you want you want to take up two hundred and
seveny million dollars contract for Lindoras, We get it two
fifteen for you. Go ahead. Everybody's available, everyone call me.
There are no sacred cows. I'm the guy in the
fantasy league that says, hey, I everybody's met, but is everybody?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Trust me, everybody is available. Make me a good offer.
I need to.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Actually I tried to trade Verlander in my fantasy league
and the guy wouldn't even respond.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, good luck, good luck. And the guy with the
guy you were trading him too, was actually justin Verlander.
I'm not gonna no, no, no, I don't want myself in fantasy.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Don't you think it's a little much to say the
season's over here?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Oh dude, last night three games in a row where
they had a three run lead in every game and
they blew everyone. And now tonight fourteen to two. Alonzo's
out for a month. Yeah, that's gonna be it. Certain
times there are losses that you just don't come back from.
And this, trust me watching the Mets for you know,
forty five years and paying attention. Yeah, this is one
of those times where you know, sometimes for each team

(02:55):
the season ends at a different time. Sometimes it ends
on September thirtieth, Sometimes it ends on June fifth.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
The word over means they're not going to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Really yeah, the word over means, hey, big salary dump coming.
You want these guys, go ahead, come get them.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
I find that hard to believe here, because we saw
the Washington Nationals win a World Series when mid May
they were horrendous. That were I think ten games under
it at that time, and they mark Mets or not.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
No, no, no, they're not. I really, but I don't
have a top bad week. It's a bad couple of weeks.
It's not a great season, a great all of that.
It's been bad since the third week of April. They
started out fourteen and seven and now here they are
at thirty and thirty four. It's been terrible for a while.
They've lost to good teams, they've lost to Batan teams,
they lost the mediocre teams, and they've lost. I don't

(03:40):
know where to go.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
And they're still a game better than the Padres. But
but well, I.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Don't know what rock bottom feels like. So this seems
like it's awfully close.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
The most important thing to remember is Aaron Rodgers is
a Jet and finished a dream OTA's for the Jets.
They talked about it's ot as doesn't have such thing.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
When he shows up for the whole thing, Yes that does. Congratulations.
You get a little plaque or certificate that says perfect attendance,
that I'm tas Stevel.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I'm an easy guy to to uh to make happy.
All I need, right now is just those slow motion
videos of Aaron Rodgers dropping those perfect passes downfield.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Perfect.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yes, that's all I need. That's Wilson's Zach Wilson was
good today on I mean, come on, that's all. But
that's what's important. I gotta understand that, all right, I
I I can be mad, but the but the most
important thing is the met The Jets have Aaron Rodts
that bad. That's the most important thing. That's all. That's all,
and it could be great. It's gonna be great for

(04:44):
at least the next two and a half months, right
because I'm gonna go all the way into the regular season.
Before things there's no real losses between them, no, I
mean the only I mean, barring the inevitable injury during
campop stop, don't put that out there. I mean halftime
of week one. If they're losing fourteen three, it's over.
The honeymoon is over and what are we doing? And
what happened? And Rodgers is watched and this is terrible,

(05:05):
But until then it's great.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Golden headphones. Going to a Chargers Jets game this year,
he is.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
He's gonna go and watch the Chargers lose forty nine
three It's a tough game. Turn tough just watch, just watch, Hey,
Aaron Rodgers with time, he could pitch for the Mets. Now,
I mean, why not get him in there throwing worse
than not at all?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Old On, didn't Schureser have like ten strikeouts no walks
this week?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Let's see, they were winning four to one, and they
lost that game and he gave up the lead. So no,
he didn't have a great game.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
No, I'm just saying, you're acting like he was bounced
in the first inning and he can't pitch anymore.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Okay, striking out ten is great. When you strike out
ten and give up six runs in five innings, I
don't care how you get the outs. You gotta give
up runs. I agree at that price, I agree with
all of that. If a strikeout takes runs away, and
I'm okay with that, I'm okay with that.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Okay, that's how it goes. He got to the sixth,
then it was ten strikeouts, no walk.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Again and six runs. You remember six runs? But again, look,
who's gonna be available for everybody at the end of
joll It's gonna be like when it's can find Oh really,
like Macy's is going out of business, and they're having
a huge tailor. Best Buy is going out of business.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
We got to get there.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Oh, the mets are going out of businesses.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
You didn't think I need a shower curtain, but my goodness,
at these prices.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Hey, can I buy any of the fixtures? Are you
still you selling it?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
In axture?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Selling fixture?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Seventy five bucks for this big fixture. Sure, I'll take it.
I want to pry it for my college dorm. Of
course I'm not in college anyway. But at these prices,
but I got When can I buy? When can I
buy a fixture from best Buy? All right, That's what
I'm gonna do. I got it, buddy, I got it.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
It's like those grocery store sales. You know. I don't
own a dog, but dog proved at this price?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Oh my goodness, would can I say no? Tonight Show
brought to you by Discovered Discover credit cards automatically double
all the cash back you earn. That's right, everything you
work is doubled. Seriously see terms. Check it out for
yourself at discover dot com. Slash match. Well we are
midwas through the third quarter now Denver and Miami in
a pivotal. Game four is anything else is game four

(07:06):
never pivotal. Pivotal is either you're sweeping, you're going up
three to one, or you're tying it to too. So
it's that there's nothing more pivot five.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
It's usually pivotal.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Game five is pivotal two. Give it but a ten
point lead for the Nuggets, who have come out pretty
strong here to begin the third quarter. Jokic has eighteen,
Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Junior both denting the scoreboard
with regularity. Now they are all in double figures. So
the Heat after ending the first half on as much
of an upswing as you could expect to see it.

(07:37):
You know, they were down by seven or eight. They
made a couple of big plays at a Bio had
a big Donkey, drew a big personal foul on Jokich.
You're thinking, Okay, the Heat have it going on here.
They have some momentum. Now Denver's just come out with
a big beginning to the third quarter. It's a ten
point lead with seven and a half left to go
in the third and.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
The Miami Heat have only four points in the first
four and a half minutes of the second half and
looking at the stat sheets. Arning guard Gabe Vincent is
a minus twenty on the court. We're not even to
mid third quarter.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
He is.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
When he's on the court, his team has been outscored
by twenty already in this game. Ouch, how soon is
Tyler Hero coming back? You know, I'm beginning to doubt
he was ever on the roster the amount of times
that I've heard he's coming back. You know, maybe Sunday,
probably Wednesday. No, maybe Friday.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I don't think he's actually a real person at this point.
I don't think he is. Yeah, I think they have
somebody that wears a bucket hat that sits on the
sideline and it's highly here. Does he play, Yeah, I
think he does. He scores. Maybe it looks like a
basketball player.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
He's tall. No, I think that was just Gilligan on
the sidelines.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Wait a minute, take that. Oh, that's Ronnie Cyclely wearing
a bucket hat. I cannot believe that, Ronnie. Can you
hit a three?

Speaker 4 (08:45):
If he could develop a three, I was just gonna
say that they would take him on the court at
this point.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Can you give us a couple of updowns? Ronnie? Can
you do that for us?

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Gave Vincent guard oh for three three point range, Max
Strew's guard oh for three three point range. Jimmy Butler
one for three.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Now, Now, this is one of those games where the
Nuggets was still with a nine point lead. Now six
and a half left to go, Nikola Jokic with a three.
He was unguarded to get this lead back up to
nine after the heat, make a little mini run the
last couple of minutes. This is a playoff Jimmy game, right,
This is where, Okay, you can talk about the heat
and heat culture all you want and say, yes, look

(09:20):
at the games. Look what you're getting from Atebayo, who's
been better than people have expected, and some of your
support cast Kyle Lowry is having a great game. But
this is one of those playoff Jimmy thirty five point
games you need to win, and he's just not been
that guy. It's almost like playoff Jimmy, you feel like
it's a myth. Now it's like, wait, it was so
long ago where it was. Look at the stamp he's

(09:40):
putting on these series. Thirty five point game, forty five
point game, and and playoff Jimmy has just been kind
of a guy in the playoffs over the course of
the past few weeks, and it's been a long time.
But if they're gonna win this game, this is a
playoff jim This is not find a way to get
everybody involved. This is a playoff Jimmy game. If he's
still playoff Jimmy, that's the only way they win this game.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
He's had one thirty point game since the second round,
since they closed out the second round. So I know,
twenty twenty was awesome and they made a run to
the finals, and this year is awesome and they've made
a run to the finals. But let's be honest, this
is an eight seeds so they need a little something
spectacular here because the opponent is better. We said that

(10:21):
before and I'll say that again tonight. Denver is just
a better team.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
You know, I expect this game to end, unless you know,
Scott Foster is the official in this game, so you
never know how things can go. But I expect this
game to end kind of like Game how Game three
ended with the Denver Nuggets going on a run and
winning this game, and they win by ten, twelve fifteen,
Because as you said, they are the better team. They

(10:47):
have been the better team I'm going to be mad
because the only reason this isn't going to be a
sweep is because they decided and Game two, we've won
so many games not having to play our best game. Yeah, well,
are we really in trouble? We're up fifteen late? Oh
we blew lead. And instead of that game being looked
at as hey, game two was given us a series,
Game two was Hey, that woke the Nuggets up, because

(11:10):
you know, when you look back in totality, because we're
looking at the games one by one now obviously, because
that's how we.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Have to do it, because they're so spread out, we
have five days to think.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
More than that.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
More than that, I mean, listen, if they win tonight,
they can't clinch until the fourth of July.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I think Max Schurzer pitches more often in a rotation.
I mean the actual NBA game. I think Stephen Strassburg
pitches more than that. If if that's the case, right, Like, look,
if that's the case, soon you're gonna look back. No,
it's been a while, about a while, we're gonna look back.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Go. That was a game that just woke the Nuggets up, right,
Like Malone was right when he said the effort wasn't there,
and it wasn't And how are the Heat open for
these big threes? And when you win a lot of
games and you're winning it pretty easily, and when you
need to you score the couple of buckets you need.
Eventually you're gonna get to that lazy point where, yeah,
I know, coach, coach.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Games suspend. Actually they played fifty home games and won
forty three out of fifty playoffs included.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah, coach keeps saying we're fine, We're fine, but okay,
we lost that game. Now, okay, now we know. Now,
we know we need a forty eight minute effort every night,
and that that's kind of what we've been getting from
the Nuggets. And this game is kind of unfolding a
lot like the last one, in which the Nuggets have
a lead, the Heat will get a couple of buckets
and cut it to five, the Nuggets will push it
back out to ten, and then that's kind of what

(12:24):
we've seen the last fifteen to twenty minutes of this one.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
And we mentioned the NBA schedule a bit more spread
out now than a couple of rounds agoing. Game five
is not on Sunday night, which is the number one
evening for television ratings. I guess because of travel. Maybe
they were expecting I don't know, some East Coast team
and some West Coast team. But game five isn't until
Monday nights in Denver, so they're skipping the best rated

(12:48):
evening altogether and just giving that out. Well, it's Father's Day,
so evening though it would have been a prime time
thirty eight o'clock game.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
No, it's not Father's. Father's Day's next weekend. Even Father's
Day's next week. D Yeah, okay, yeah, Father's Day's next week.
They will have games, second, will be on will be
on Father's Days. It will be there. So this is
no Yeah, Game seven I don't think so I feel
pretty good about that. Again. I'm going to go down
being upset that I had the Nuggets in four and
they gave away a game to stop my Nuggets in

(13:21):
four prediction from happening.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
It was one of the most efficient foth quarters we've
ever seen for Denver to win that Sunday night game,
because they only had nineteen possessions and they got thirty
six points out of it, which is just ludicrous, and
they were down almost double digits to start the quarter.
They were down fifteen at Denver in the first half,
so a ten point lead for the Nuggets now coming
up on the four minute mark the third quarter, make

(13:43):
its seventy four to sixty four for Denver. Leading the
way no surprise, Nikola Jokic on his way to potentially
another triple double twenty three points, ten rebounds.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
And for a seed.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
He already has the record for triple doubles in a
postseason with ten. We're just counting it off before everybody
will ever remember it.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I'm telling you, man, I'm telling you get ready. When
this series ends, we're gonna be saying, is this the
most dominant NBA Finals performance in modern NBA history? Modernate
because I can't go to finish was pretty dove it
fifty points in Game seven, Yes, that was great. But
you're talking about Jokic with a triple double basically every

(14:22):
single game. And we've had Lebron has had big series
and Shack had a big series. Uh, the second title
I think for the Lakers, even loss Lebron when he
had nobody around him. I mean, he's he's had great series,
but but this is I mean, this is you're talking
about leading a team. When you talk about most dominant,
because you're dominating, you're leading your team to an NBA
Finals win, and you're doing it averaging a triple double.

(14:43):
He's the first guy to ever have a thirty twenty
to ten triple double in NBA history. The other night, yeah,
we're gonna say, hey, this may be because because I
can't go back to like Bill Russell or Wilton the
finally go. You look at Wilt's numbers, it's like, oh,
Game six of the NBA Finals, fifty eight points, thirty
four rebounds, twenty two blocks, fifteen assists. You know, it's like, okay,
but modern history, going back to Larry and Magic, Yeah,

(15:05):
I think that's gonna be a big deal.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Okay, the Yannis Finals where he had fifty in Game seven.
He also had two forty point games earlier in the series,
So I know it's recent history, and we kind of
tend to go day to day. It seems like with
our NBA evaluations, it was only two years ago he
had three forty point games, including fifty in the clincher.
That was pretty dominant.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Finals.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Welcome to Jason's favorite song.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
The Mets will never win again. They'll go oh for
the rest of the season. They'll trade everyone when they can.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Well, I don't know what rock bottom feels like. This
seems like it's awfully close.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon.
Steve Desager in for Harmon tonight this hour The show
brought to you by Discover. At the end of your
first year, Discover credit cards automatically double all the cash
back you hear. And that's right, everything you earned is doubled.
Seriously see terms. Check it out for yourself at discover
dot com. Slash Match. Two minutes to go in the

(16:23):
third quarter. It is still an eight point lead for
the Nuggets seventy six sixty eight over the Miami Heat
for Miami. The last couple minutes. Again, just like we
told you, Hey, they get it to seven, we'll get
it to five. We'll get it back out to ten.
Jokic is hitting shots. Jimmy Butler sitting at sixteen points.
He has taken twelve shots in this game. If the

(16:45):
Heat are going to win this game, it's got to
be Jimmy Butler taking at least ten shots in the
fourth quarter. They're not gonna go through with one of
those team effort games. I'm sorry, but you need your
superstars to play like stars. You need a playoff Jimmy game.
And this is where he's got to come through, because
it's almost like playoff Jimmy. You know, he has a
big game and it's boy, let let's go crazy with

(17:07):
how great Jimmy Butler. Okay, well, he has games like
this once in a while, but this isn't like every
other game or every night when you need something big.
Look at Jimmy Butler all the championships. It's almost like
you see the whole playoff Jimmy not quite a myth
but maybe not quite playoff Jimmy but more, Hey, once
in a while Jimmy instead instead of playoff him for
a while. Jimmy absolutely because.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
In the opener of this series, he had thirteen points
and that was the It wasn't the only time that
I won't say he's stunk, but it's not what you expected.
And so in this game, even though he has six assists,
and no turnovers, while there are five turnovers from bam Adebayo.
Just for the record, Uh, he's got to do exactly
what you just said, because they've been trailing by double

(17:49):
digits a lot. Here in the third There is a
long delay late third quarter because I think it was
Atabayou who hung on the rim. I got called for
offensive interference. And now they're not sure the is even level.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
No, it's like they got one of those home Depot
five dollars level the bubble that they just foot on
top going. That looks kind of level to me. Okay,
that's great, that's great. But if you noticed when it
was level, Scott Foster reached up and actually pushed it
up a little bit. So now it's gonna be really
slanted for the fourth quarter here, it's gonna be very okay.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
So then this is gonna be Miami's excuse why they
don't have a guard who can hit a three.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
If you look at the way the level was the
bubble is, while it's inside the mark, it's a little
bit too much to the right, the bubble is a
little bit too So these shots all you need is
the slightest bit to be off and Hey, that's why
the heat missed all those shots.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
And Eric's still working on that. And the NBA worker
who's in a suit coat by the way, had to
avoid the waitress with full drinks on her tray right
behind the basket.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
I don't know about you, but I would feel more
confident if a guy came out, like in a plaid
shirt and a work belt and he had the level. Go, Okay,
this guy's gonna get it right. Here's a guy. Here's
a guy in a suit all right, good, no, no,
give me a guy in a work belt, plaid shirt,
give me tool time with Tim Taylor, get me out there.
That's how I feel confidence. It's going to be level
for everybody.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
So I don't know how this has been going on
for four or five minutes already, I know how much longer,
But yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Been going on so long. Mark Jackson actually likes Nikola Jokic,
Now that's all.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Are I thought you were saying he found a way
to actually vote for him. It took a while. He's
actually gone through the rules and figured it out.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
You know, the ballot sometimes is really weird. I can't
figure it out. How many of those people, Oh, by
the way, when you find out, wait, this person didn't
vote right or voted this way, you realize they say, oh, hey,
the ballot. It was really confusing. I mean, really, the
ballot was confusing, really bout.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
And this is the first time you've ever looked at it.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
It's confusing. I didn't know what it was. I had
no idea. I know it.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
There's another delay because some medical incident. A fan is
being taken off.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Yeah, just showing it right now. A woman. They are
walking her off the court, woman in a white T shirt.
And I believe they did they put her on a
on a I don't think.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
I think they wheeled that off empty and they were
helping her out of her seat her feet.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, because they looked like they were. She was sitting
near the court and she needed to leave, and so
they were walking her off and they brought out a cart.
But I don't think they put her on it. I
think she was able to walk off the court under
her own power. I'm not sure the heat will be
able to walk off under their own power. No, no, no,
But remember remember Paul Pierce had to go off in
a wheelchair and come back and play. Remember remember that

(20:20):
this fan walks off under her own power. Paul Pierce
in a wheelchair.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Yeah, need we say more? Actually, so again, we'll just
wait a minute. She's gonna come back then, and she's
gonna come there now, and we're gonna just had to
go to the bathroom. Nah, that's all it's gonna be. Yeah, Well,
Denver just went up eleven. So this is how close
are we to being? Like last game where oh my goodness,
the home team's down what twenty here? Do we even

(20:45):
need to watch the fourth quarter? And it's getting later
in the evening, Steve.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
You are all wow, I know you will never be
a good network programmer. Tell she Val they don't need
to watch the game?

Speaker 4 (20:54):
You get, says the guy that just gave up on
the entire season for The New York Man in June.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Well, yeah, okay, I could see I could see where
you would think that Ive it was over in April.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Jason, credit for hanging in till June.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
So we'll get back to this game coming up in
a few minutes again, final minute of the third quarter,
eleven point lead for the Nuggets. But news today and
it really cinches that this is going to go down
as the worst NFL trade since two thousand, there's a
lot of bad NFL trades. Herschel Walker, you know, eleven

(21:28):
players for one you go back to two thousand. Here
the modern day of the NFL. The Seahawks Pete Carroll
said today that he is not sure if Jamal Adams
is going to be ready to start the twenty twenty
three season. It may be too much to ask. Adams
played in one game last year due to a torn
quad muscle. Since they gave up two first round picks

(21:50):
to get him, he has played in a grand total
of thirteen games. This is, without a doubt, the worst
NFL trade since two.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Thousand because the two picks the Raiders gave up for
Antonio Brown were not first rounders.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Right, because because it was bad. There's bad there's bad trades,
and there's acquiring players that hasn't worked out. But the
reason this is the worst one is because you can
combine a huge compensation package plus the money they had
to pay him makes this into the worst deal since
two thousand. Right, remember giving up two for a box safety.

(22:26):
When that happened, Joe Douglas must said, oh my goodness,
this guy is unhappy. And you know, we don't even
know that he can defend the pass. Well, yes, give
us two first round picks, right.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
I don't think we know that in their uniform because
we didn't see it last year essentially, And wasn't an
opening day injury?

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yes it was, Yes, it was. And because he's blocked
me on Twitter, Jamal Adams because of the things I
have said the truth. Yeah, and now you know. And
the thing is, it's not like I at him when
I talk. But you know what, when we do the show,
and I do the show for everybody listening, and let's say,
Jamal Adams, is this Jamal Adams. I don't at the guys.
I don't players. I'm not I'm not that way to go. Hey,
I'm so desperate to make a headline. You know, it's

(23:04):
it's for the people.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Let's do the show.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
So but I know he's a guy that searches his
name on Twitter because when he blocked me, because and
all because the only way he's got to block me
is if he searches his name and my name comes up.
Because a lot of times we have takes on it
that make headlines on the Internet. So he's yeah, you know,
he's a guy that searched his name, saw what I
said and blocks me. So the NFL player searches his

(23:26):
own name on Twitter. Yeah, while he's looking up how
to spell insecurity? Uh No, probably instead of looking at
the iPad on the sideline because he's playing, because he's heard,
he has time to sit back and look at stuff.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
But although if those were any Belichick's players, probably all
the iPads have been thrown down to the ground and
screens busted and then told by the NFL not an
iPad that's actually a sponsor? Can you please not do that?

Speaker 1 (23:51):
How do they not just do what you know I
would do for my daughter when she was like eight
or nine and had her first iPad. Get the ones
with the big blue bumpers around it so if they
drop it it doesn't break. How about you do that?
I mean I got just put the big bumpers around it.
It's five to drop, it'll be be. It's only all
the cars once they got to be teenagers. But you
had the same but all all the other bad trades.

(24:12):
Think about this, right, Mitchell Trubisky would be brought up
if Mike Carmen were sitting in this store next to
sure uh DeAndre Hopkins was a bad trade, but that
was involving a trade for a player and there wasn't
a first round pick involved. And it's not like DeAndre
Hopkins let the world on fire when they traded him
to Arizona. If he has just been okay when he
was healthy, but now he's got injury issues and he's

(24:34):
got a ped issue. But the fact that the the
person sweat about Carson Wentz acquisition, but it's not you
didn't give up a lot. That's the thing that the
Serks gave up two first round picks and they had
to pay them all Adams a top salary to be
a box safety. That is, without a doubt, the worst
trade in the NFL since two thousand. Because other trades

(24:54):
they're bad, but when you're not giving up a big asset, Okay, yeah,
it's all right, we made a bad t trade, but
it's not like, hey, we traded, we traded for this guy,
and we gave up a bunch of stuff and we
had to No, the combination of everything makes this the
worst trade the last twenty three years. And I got
news for you. You know what, the worst trade, there's
one trade that could actually supersede this depending on how

(25:17):
this year goes. You want to frostper with a new coach.
Russell Wilson. If this year goes bad this year, that
will go down as the worst.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Trade first rounder.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yes, they gave him to it, and you paid him
not just for it, because after this year, at least
Jamal Adams can walk away. Uh. And they did get trade.
They did get draft picks back for Russell Wilson, Drew Lock,
don't forget they got Drew Long. They got Drew Lock
was very important. And no offense they got no offen
to who turned out to not even play. Saved him
on my dynasty team for no reason.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
So there's that day. So they have the worst trade
and they also may make the wind up making the
best trade because if Wilson stinks and this is it,
this is not this is not all hey run, No,
this is Russell Wilson has a year to show that
I can still be a quarterback. And guess what you're
getting replaced, and.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
It's fair to give him that year. I mean, new regime,
all of that.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, And I'm and I'm of the and I'm of
the the the inclination to see new season with Sean Payton,
who has never failed with a quarterback. He his coaches
entire cora.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
He's gonna run? Is he gonna run this year? And
they had some yards at the n last season. He's
gonna have to and he's going to be better.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
When they made the trade, I said, this is gonna
be a rough year one because it's going to be
a difficult time trying to figure out what is Russell
Wilson still? How do we have to maneuver the offense
around him.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
They're gonna have a head coach that doesn't belong in
the league as a head coach. They're gonna give up
fifty points on Christmas Day in front of the whole country.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
And they're gonna go back and settle for a sixty
three yard field goal on Russell Wilson's return to Seattle.
So I knew last year was gonna be rough. This
year wasn't gonna be This will be better because they
will have figured out their mistakes and moved on, and hey,
would you move on to go get Sean Payton? I mean,
that's the hell of moving on. So I don't see
that happening, but if it does, the will then jump
ahead of Russell Wilson, but right now the jump ahead

(27:03):
of draw, but right now jamal out of easily worst
trade in the NFL since two thousand.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
And The reason this comes up is because Pete Carroll,
Seattle coach, is asked about specifically this player, the Seahawks
safety you are talking about, and what's his hell status?
And the comment was, we'll see, it may be too
much to ask him to be ready for week one. Wow,
he got hurt in week one and it's twelve bunch
too much to ask for him to be ready for
week one. Here, I mean, it doesn't it doesn't get

(27:29):
it doesn't get worse than that.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
I mean, at least they can sit here and say yeah, yeah, yeah,
but look at the trade we made to get rid
of us and we made we got Gino and we
did this, we got draft picks back. Don't look at
that trade. Look at this trade. But yeah, I mean,
this is one of those things where you go, Wow,
the team, no one's ever going to make a trade
like non quarterback trade like that ever. Again, Now, remind

(27:51):
me again, who did Seattle make this deal with to
get this player? He made the deal with the twenty
twenty three Super Bowl champion New York Jets. No, yeah
they did, Yes they did, Yes they did.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
We're also guys, runner up for the worst trade in
NFL history with Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Stop sir, are.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
You gonna give him one year on that trade?

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Time?

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Right now? It's as trade right now, it's the best
trading history of the game.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
But you get it the king of the OTA. It's
like when the White Sox won the offseason for Harmon
Jets one. They're so good in the Ots. The Jets
aren't even gonna practice next week.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
You don't need to got it? Hang on now, hang on.
The reason the Jets aren't doing it is because they
had full participation in OTAs. Rogers was there for the
entire session, and they were early because they play the
Hall of Fame game. So it's like, listen, we just
had a great Why are we doing it next week?
We'll cancel it. It's fine. I'm not gonna sit in
the second week of September going the Jets oh and too.

(28:47):
Had they just practiced that week in June, maybe we'd
be two and oh right, Rogers has some time, Rogers,
Rogers has some time. Rogers. You could have sat there
and got what Time with Garrett Wilson. I'm not gonna
say that, You're not gonna.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Be somebody is in that exact accent.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
It's going to be absolutely funny. Yes, I'm sure many
people will do the trust process. Well, The Jason Smith
Show is Teeve de Sagarin from Mike Harmon. I'm going
back to two thousand, worst trade in the NFL than
all Adams.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Dude, you just can't keep playing these songs every single night, man,
because people want variety.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
This is right.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
I say this for a show that tunes in to
hear my voice and Armon's voice. It is thee's voice
every single about the Mets and Jets every night everything.
But yeah, but they find different ways that different ways.
I mean, if you've got to.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Do that way, these are the same notes. Is that
what you're saying. You're getting the same songs.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Hey, So just to let everybody know, I said the
Nuggets will win this series easy unless Scott Foster gets involved.
And boy, what have we seen Nicole Yokich on the
bench with five fouls, Jimmy Butler get away with an
incredible charge that instead goes for an end one, and
so the Nuggets trying to pull away the heater staying close,

(30:08):
but it is still an eight point lead right now
for Denver with seven minutes left to go. Jokic has
been on the bench since picking up that fifth foul.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
And then the last minute or two, Jamal Murray hit
a three. Aaron Gordon has scored. Aaron Gordon is the
leading scorer in this game either side. Eleven of fifteen
shooting from the floor, he has twenty seven points and
five assists. So we may not get a Jokich triple double.
He has four assists, three turnovers tonight, and the five
fouls that you mentioned, But Aaron Gordon has come through

(30:36):
and it's an eight point lead for the visitors.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Well, obviously, the plan of slowing Jokic down from not
creating is Scott Foster. It's getting in there and making
sure that.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
They're saying that she asked the wrong person that question.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Sorry, Ramona, you had to ask Scott Fov. I'll shut
him down it he's so good. Just get me into
game four, all right?

Speaker 4 (30:56):
I got something for the pool reporter to take into
the reft's room.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
What does a home team win like ninety eight percent
of the time on Scott falstered the referees.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
I'm not sure it's quite it.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Now, we'll have more on this game coming up again.
Seven minutes left to go. It is an eight point
lead for the Nuggets over the.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Heat, So they are seven minutes away from the three
games to one lead, and can we say it out loud,
essentially taking the series.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yes, but well it would take a while because you
never know, Tyler Hero could be back four Game five,
since that's not till the fourth of July, so there.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Is that, and then yeah, I think it is after
the draft that they're finally going to finish this series.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Game fi, I'll give you this guy. Game five is
the fourth of July. Okay, Game six is the same
day as MLB trade deadline. Game seven is on Labor Day.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Now, I believe they moved Game seven because it's got
to finish before that Feeble World Cup starts because some
of the players are required by the end of the summer.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
So all right, all right, all right, well, well maybybe
maybe they'll figure.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
That because Eric Spolster is the US assistant coach. He
may have that be quite you know those games are
in Nola. That's quite our own trip.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
He could just coach like by proxy, like with a
he have a GoPro on his head and someone could
do it by surrogate.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
He is such a legend in Manila. Seriously, I bet
they could just put like a picture of him in
the chair there and people would still or you know,
some sort of and one of.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Those things where you press a button and he has
like three pre program phrases yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah, or maybe a hologram have him standing up, sitting down.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
The holograms.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
People would go nuts for that work.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
So we'll have more in this game coming up in
a few minutes. But big headline the last couple of days.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
The holograms folsters can can still give you back on
the question in.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
The he will see He could still be upset. He
would just just be untrained eye press the button, trained eye.
So Chris Paul is either getting released by the Suns
and his career is over or it's not and they're
discussing his future.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
So we've narrowed down to them too.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Because the report first came out, you know Yahoo and
Shams had the report, Chris or Chris haynes Yah who
had the report that Chris Paul was going to be
getting released. He was done, but then that report was
refuted and instead out is the narrative that they're discussing
his future at this point getting he's getting released. Okay,
he's getting released. All this is is Chris Paul trying

(33:05):
to control the narrative so it doesn't look like he's released.
So it could look like the team's two sides came
to a mutual conclusion that Chris Paul should go someplace else.
So Chris Paul still seems like he's well sought after
and teams want him and they want him for their team,
instead of Chris Paul is done, He's getting released. I
want to control that narrative so it looks like I

(33:27):
feel like I still have value. So let's let's let's
kill this for a couple of days, and then when
it comes back out, it's going to be after we spoke.
It's best that we both go our separate ways.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
And people will continue to forget that Chris Paul looks
as old as he does every postseason. Because if you
if you control the narrative. You kind of kindly that
whole paragraph goes by the wayside, doesn't it.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
You know, you know, he's a guy that needs to
understand that maybe for the next couple of years he
comes off the bench, that because he can't extend all
the way through, he can't play a whole season, he
can't play in the playoffs. If he would say that,
if he would take that, go to a real big
time contending team and be okay with coming off the bench, yeah,
I'd love him for the next couple of seasons, Like
if he went to the Lakers and yeah, I could

(34:09):
come off the bench, and I'm okay with that, because
I'm okay with with that, I'm secure with that and
my legacy. Yeah, I can see him having a pretty
big impact the next couple years playing less.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
As soon as you said that, I looked up Jason
Kidd's career. I didn't remember the next year at the
end

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Bench more of this, more of the finals coming up
next right here, Fox
