(00:50):
should be. Well something tonight. We're gonna do something here
for a couple minutes and you're not gonna believe it.
We've had a couple of big wins tonight in the
world of sports, right Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup.
The A's win their seventh in a row on reverse
boycott night, a night huge fans decide to really stick
it to the A's owners by actually coming to a game. Uh,

(01:14):
that was those are some of the biggest Well, yeah,
and the Yankees beat the Mets, but whatever. The Mets
stink and I can't talk about it. But you would think, Okay,
it's pretty exciting for both, but one's going to be
more exciting than the other. You'd be right, but not
how you think. First, let's take a listen to the
play by play local play by play of the Oakland

(01:36):
A's winning their seventh game in the row, beating the
best team in Major League Baseball again for the second
straight night. It was a nail bier for Oakland and
they once again came out Victoria.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
On a night of incredible emotions and with the unprecedented
nature of the night. The Oakland A's have beaten the
Tampa Bay Rays by the final two to one.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
The unprecedented of fans actually coming to the game, unprecedented.
A's radio network on the call, very emotional Mike harmon
the ASA could be moving to Vegas. Today. We saw
the story that of the state of Nevada approved the
money for the ballpark for the A's. So that's the
last hurdle. So it looks like the A's are going

(02:29):
to be moving like we we thought for the last
couple of months. But A's fans want to try to
keep that hope alive that the A's can stay, so
they all buy tickets to the game tonight in a
reverse boycott, which is basically just attending the game. They
decided to come to the game to show, hey, we
have a lot of fans here, someone buy the team
and keep it in Oakland. Fans all got t shirts

(02:50):
that were green and white with the word sell on them.
They want the owner John Fisher to sell the team.
And it was very It was a big throwback night.
It was positive, it was noble and I dug it
and they were excited about it.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
I mean nearly twenty eight thousand people, eight hundred thousand
dollars gets donated off those ticket sales. Something the A's
decided to say, Oh yeah, you want to give me money, now,
let's pass it over here. You tell me I don't
help the community enough. We just gave eight hundred eleven
thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Sell the team. Well, if you don't like Fisher, you
don't want them to get billions of dollars. The other
thing is, no matter what happens, the sale would be
continued on. You're going to Vegas, right, You're going to Vegas.
You're getting Vegas money, and you're gonna get a new ballpark.
You're gonna get out of the O dot CO the
Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. I spent many a day and

(03:41):
night there, look a lot of great times watching those
teams back when the A's were rocking. So a little
bit of that tonight with the twenty eight thousand in attendance,
So good for them. I was looking online from a
couple of fan entities with the white to see if
they'd started selling black and white shirts with the same

(04:04):
They have not as of yet, or nineteen eighty three
style or whichever of the different uniforms they've had through
the years. Hasn't happened yet, But I gotta imagine this
will happen in a few other cities soon. Enough of hey,
let's go do that. If nothing else, we get a
day at the ballpark.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Here. They got a win, got a huge win over
the Rays.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
All right, let me ask you this, yes or no?
Can you get an Oakland A's sell T shirt on
eBay right now.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Oh, I would say probably.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Oh yeah, the answer is yes you can.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
What are they asking a hundred bucks?

Speaker 6 (04:41):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Couple of what? One is a bid and it hasn't
reached anything like it's a twenty two dollars was it?
Game War one is yeah, it's all from tonight. They're
from tonight. One is forty five dollars. You can buy
it right now, free shipping, and one is sixty eight dollars.
You can buy it right now again free shipping. All
these are all event war and these are event worn. Yeah, well,

(05:01):
I don't know if they sweat. You get him and
you hold onto it, and I'm gonna sell it. You're
gonna sell a shirt and T shirt that just says sell.
So you can get one of these shirts. You can
buy one of them, right if you want to spend
a lot of money for a free T shirt. How
much is the air going from this game? Oh, it's
got to be in a bottle. It's got to be
in a bottle with it stopping on it. No, no, no,
you can.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Some enterprising people have made hundreds of thousand dollars trapping gas.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
No, he's and save that for Mike Harman gas trapper.
You said gas trapper, right, of course I did. Okay, no, good,
I mean the other is a whole other. I was laughing.
I wanted to make sure he said gas. I wanted
to make sure he put the G on front of that.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
I knew exactly what I said.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
No, but I know I said Frodburg. I want the
s he said gas.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
And even if he didn't, is he wrong?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Your name is Mike Harmon, His name is Justin Frostburg.
Would have Frostburg your harm and Harmon and Frostburg Finkle?
Is iinhorn einhorn his fingers? Do you think I said
ass trappers? I didn't want you to say it nicely done,
didn't I didn't. I don't even know what that is.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
That is one of the greatest nicknames.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
I don't. I don't. I don't want to type about
how the Mets play doesn't mean well, yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
I really did think that you were going to troll
him with the Mets Final instead of the AS.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
So you heard the excitement of the A's call, emotion,
play the A. Let's hear a tight shirt, Let's hear
the A's call one more time?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
And on a knight of incredible emotion and with the
unprecedented nature of the night, the now beating the Tampa
Bay Rays by the final two.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
To one, unprecedented nature of fans in the seats.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Well, the other thing that's unprecedented here, because I think
you might be able to go through the annals of
his Did you have you ever had a team with
a higher gate in a random game in June than
they had in their opening day because they had a
thousand more fans there too.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, it looked like a lot, looked like a playoff game.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
It did look pretty cool, like two good three. Yeah,
if you got a good camera angle, you wouldn't know
that Mount Davis was empty.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Oh Billy Kotch closing it out or his zo. Yeah,
So that was the excitement of the A's. Now, how
about the city. The A's are going to wind up
moving to the Vegas Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup. Boy,
you gotta think that final call is off the hook.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Is the final scoring.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
Game five the Vegas Golden Knights nine the Florida Panthers three.
They defeat Florida in five games, so win the Stanley Cup.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
What an embarrassment was that? Was that Nikola Jokicic doing
that like, yeah, we won, that's great, that's great, we won.
We won. Here's your final call, here's your final score.
They win it. They beat Florida, they win at four
games to one. What else? Nuts and bolts got it good?
I'm leaving. I mean, well, man, well.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
It wasn't. It wasn't decided in the final minute. This wasn't. Hey,
here's one more, one more rush, one more.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Now here's the bleeping Stanley Cup. I know. And the
Stanley Cup though, I mean you might have already used
your best lines, yeah, but I no, no, you got
to have something planned for that, man, I realized, be filmed.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
I know.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
It's been a long five years, and there were kids
who went through their whole high school career and we're
freshmen in college right now that are just finally tasting
that that drinking from that cup of victory. Right They've
had a long five years of wondering if they were
ever gonna win the Stanley Cup, and now here they are.
You gotta have something planned for them. I mean, I
get that it's Vegas and in the grand scheme of things, Well,

(08:56):
is this as big as a Celine Dion show or
a Britney Spears show, or oh or circa Sola. I
get those other things happening, or I could go to
the wind and yeah, but it's still a Stanley Cup final. Man,
you gotta be excited about it.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
No, I get, I get it.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
I mean you should be able to have that one liner,
the one that you'd been working on in the shower
or in traffic or as you're sitting there watching the
Golden Knight's bludgeon the Panthers. All right, you got a
lot of time to work on that. Give me a
couple of blank sheets of paper. Anybody in the front
row with any ideas, But yeah, it's good one liners. No, No,

(09:33):
you had plenty of time to workshop. And I'm certainly
not going to diminish that. But it's not it's not
like we had in the final minute of chaos with
the Nuggets finishing off the heat yesterday, where the game
was still in doubt in the final minutes, a couple
of big plays and the place erupts. You know, also,
forty seven years because I mean, shut up, right, because

(09:56):
remember we had that announcer who told you it was
okay to die.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, no, and that was exciting, you know, you listen,
you had that.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Was great and then he kind of broke down if
you saw the video of it. If you saw the
video of it. After he finishes talking, they take in
and soak up the cheers, but like he just puts
his head in his hand and like just is overcome
with emotion.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Don't get that here.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I mean, I'm not the biggest fan of having something prepared,
but you should have something. You know your team is
gonna win. This score it's like six to two at
the end of the second period. You have you have
a good second period, intermission and then the entire third
period to come up with what you want to say.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yeah that, by the way, that six goal might have
been as deflating you could have for a franchise, right,
all these rushes, all these big plays and then you
actually trap it onto your pad, but your body goes
over the line. I mean, you could say there's with
one point two seconds left in.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
The period, there's no sin anymore. This city is celebrating
as Stanley Cup. Chat something you could have had we had.
That was great emotion from the a's Look here's great emotion.
Here's the Nuggets play by prey from last night that
you just mentioned.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Except it's left to go. He's in case, he's across
the Timeoine and he'll.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Triple them out. The forty seventy year witness over.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
The Denver Nuggets stand on top of the np A world.
They are champions, and Nuggets fans from sea to shining
sea can rust or die in peace.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yeah, I mean that's a little dark at the end.
But look how excited he was and all they were doing,
all they were doing was was dribbling the ball over
half court. The game was over. You see the excitement level,
and look disappointed.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
He was jacked up about it.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, you gotta be jack when you're winning a championship,
you gotta be jacked up. And you're in Vegas entertainment,
I know. I mean, look, maybe that's the guys that's
like his like third job, and like, look I really
have to now look, maybe i'm i'm I'm I'm being
I'm doing PA at Carrie Underwood's concert or Miranda Lambert

(12:09):
or something like that, and I really got it.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
It's like the this is like, yeah, I'm bringing back
an argument that you failed here.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Yeah, so hard.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
You know, a couple of weeks residency. Come on, Carrie
Underwood's got a residency. Look at all these people, Barry Manilow,
Donnie Osmond, Maroon five, Rod Stewart.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
What do I tell you about resident? And they sell
them every day?

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Is downside of your career, downside of your career. It happens.
But I mean maybe that's his gig, and like, well,
I gotta really save myself because I got the Carrie
Underwood concert to have to beat be the PA and
outs for tonight or something.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I gotta save myself. I mean, I get that there's
lots of things going on in Vegas. There's lots of things,
even the Luke Bryan residency or the Frankie Morino residency.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I like that you named a ton of country artists.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Well, because I'm looking at a thing that says who's
got Las Vegas residencies? And you know about nightlife right there?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Well, I tried, hey, can we go back when we
get our residency in those studios?

Speaker 4 (13:06):
There? Can we do that?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
We did the show from Vegas a couple months ago,
and you stalked Gabe from the office a couple of times,
say stalked, like, I really did well. He called him Gabe.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
That was great, but he had to respond, it's not
his name.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
But you called him Gabe.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Did he respond?

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, he kind of rolled his eyes and smiled. Probably
find since well he probably another guy called me Gabe. Okay,
another guy called hey, you.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Know what, it's good to be remembered.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Lots of other people have been in television, movies, our business, whatever,
and they walk right past, you know, it's like, yeah,
how's the soup, sir?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
His special lady friend thought it was funny though, Yeah,
I just liked that. Frostburg didn't know and he leaned
over me. Go, so that's his character's name is Gabie.
I Gabe, Hey, Gaby right at him Games Vegas.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
Maybe what's worse if he comes over it's like, hey,
my guy's been.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
A little overserved. You okay, We're okay?

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Yeah, Twitter it out about a Fresco Mike ITTs swollen

Speaker 1 (14:45):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
does Jimmy Tuckett? You know, Tuckett, You're on thin ice
to me, ty Shirt? Why because you're putting Midsummar on
one of the TVs going off for.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Quality entertainment, Mike, as rate a movie as that is. Yes,
you can't unsee any of it. And you see it again,
it will no, no, no, it will stick with you
the rest of your life. By Jason Midsommer or Hereditary?
Which one was worse?

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (15:12):
You know what I mean? Worse like? Which one was
harder to watch? They were?

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Mid se I actually watched Hereditary. We we sat and
watched it. It was terrible.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I'll get oh no, no, dude, I hate it, dude. Hereditary.
The first half of Hereditary, I said to myself, I
think I might be watching the best horror movie I've
ever seen. And then the second half it just kind
of becomes, oh, this is what it is. But the
first half, right up right up to the part where

(15:41):
Tony Kollett starts saying and I was standing above my
kid's bed with a lighter fluid and and a lighter
to and I'm going, oh my, this movie is unbelieving.
And then it just gets uh, it's just okay from there.
You only do so much with the cult thing, you know.
So yeah, but it was. But but Midsommer, oh no, no,
Midsummer is unbelievably good from beginning to end. But there's
things you'll see in it you'll never you'll never unsee

(16:04):
that hard to swallow some stuff. It's yeah, really Harmon,
who was showing it to his kids when they were
like seven, you know, it's ah, yeah, we watched Midsummer
when they were seven, Halloween when they were three, preschool graduation,
right out of the womb. We were re enacting Texas, Chainsaw, mass.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Well we did.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
I mean, look, you gotta get that first step foot
speed that you never learned.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
You gotta learn it somewhere.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Can you imagine Mike Jason where he's like, oh, kids,
it's the first day of summer. You know what that means. Midsummer? No, no, no,
it's middle of summer. Nobody's starting it. Oh, starting at that? Okay,
all right, very starting him. It's some they finished middle
of summer. Uh time. Now for the progressive play of
the night, Progressive making things even easier. They'll help you
bundle your home and car insurance together so you can

(16:47):
save on both. Learn more Progressive dot com or call
one eight hundred Progressive. Well, we actually have a tie
for the play of the night tonight. One is pretty obvious.
One not so much. Let's hear the unbelievable, the exciting call,
and I'm being serious about this of the A's winning
their seventh straight down and is s.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
On a night of incredible emotion.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
And with the unprecedented nature of the night, the Oakland
A's now beating the Tampa Bay Rays by the final
two to one.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
A's radio network on the call, so exciting, the A's
win again on reverse boycott Night, also known as going
to the game and buying tickets night, the A's win again.
They wear t shirts that say sell. They want John
Fisher to sell the team to a local business or person.
It's not happening, but what it was great night and
so exciting for the Oakland A's Mike Carmen.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
Well, they also scared the hell out of the raised
picture to start the fifth when they were quiet and
they all stood in unison and then wait for it,
wait for it, sell the team. And it was so
loud and thunderous that evidently he was discombobulated and thought
his equipment was failing.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Now that ties with an unbelievably exciting call of the
Vegas Golden Knights, and I'm being facetious winning their very
first Stanley Cup Final, scoring.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
Game five, the Vegas Golden Knights nine, the Florida Panthers three.
They defeat Florida in five games to win the Stanley Cup.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
For this guy's job tomorrow. Just you know, we've been around,
it's only been five years. Don't most teams win like this.

Speaker 5 (18:35):
I've just wo so long, suckers, I've been hired for
the ages.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
That's my that's my audition to be the a's announcer
when they come to town. Why we're not very excited.
It's fine, it's just the uh so. Yeah, you'd expect
something a little bit more of the Knights who win
the Stanley Cup, which is they're a great story as Look,
this is a team that that was an expansion team
five years ago and here they are winning the Stanley Cup.
But it also is a story that pisses me off

(19:04):
because I look at my teams and many other teams
that have been around for sixty seventy years can't get
it right with fifty years of first round picks. And
here are the Golden Knights who had zero players five
years ago. They had no players zero. I don't mean
they didn't have anybody good. They had zero players. And
not only were they able to build a team that
wins the Stanley Cup, they've been good for all five years.

(19:26):
They finished third in their division the first year they
made it to a Stanley Cup final. Now they've won
the Stanley Cup Final. How do they get this good,
this fast and winning five years? In my teams, I
can't get them to get one year in the playoffs
before things just absolutely implode. Yeah, it kind of upsets
me a little.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Bit, sorry, buddy.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
I mean because y'all also add in the fact that
during the course of this year they had to use
five different goalies.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
It doesn't matter whoever we put out the next time
we're gonna win.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Who shot Quick makes no difference.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Say here's Tony Esposito, who's gonna play? Ken Dry was
gonna come in and play a little bit here?

Speaker 5 (20:01):
I hey, Frostford, as a Kings fan, are you claiming.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Part of this title?

Speaker 1 (20:08):
They don't win without Alec Martinez Martinez Quick, I mean
he did his part on the bench. I didn't see
Quick lifting up the Stanley Cup?

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Oh I did? Did he did? Oh?

Speaker 5 (20:20):
Yeah, no, he did perhaps the longest skate of anybody.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
And then basically King's northeast and then he said, hey, Blake,
you Rob Blake, look at me, I'm lifting up to
Stanley Cupp. But no, but that really pisses me off.
My teams can't win. They've been around forever and team Yeah,
but so all the teams.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Do to baseball. Team spent a lot of money this year.
How long?

Speaker 1 (20:41):
How long the Chargers been around? They haven't won anything.
Hey you got yeah yeah from mike Im Jason, coming
up next to my buddy Ben mallor Metsio
