about in a couple of minutes. But I want to
bring you all in the play little match game right now.
I'm gonna bring you guys all in to play a
little match match match game. Right I'm gonna give you
a question and you have to match the answer if

(01:10):
I had a piece of paper, I would write down
my answer, but instead I will just tell oh, here
we go, Here we go. Harmon writes it down. Harmon,
You're a helper, so I can write my answer down.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Hango.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Okay, Hair, now we're not playing the game. Now the
game's over because you said the answer.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Okay, very good.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Is Brett Summers here, Richard Dawson, Fanny Flag.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Now you got Brett Summers there, he's the love match game,
match game. Geen Rayven had the big long stick mic everything. Alright,
Charles Nelson Riley, your next I just got back from Catalena.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
All right, So wow for the five of you that
got that out there nationwide, thanks for listening and being
part of the family.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Everybody else. It was funny.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Here's my question. I need your answer to one player
I'm thinking about had a rough day? What's going on? No,
you gotta give me the match game? How rough was it? Sorry?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
How rough was that?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
It was so rough? I am so surprised that Blank
went undrafted in the NBA draft. Who am I thinking of?

Speaker 6 (02:18):
Who?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Can you match? Your answer? Start over?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah? This is confusing.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Basically, it's the biggest surprise going undrafted in the NBA
draft is who? And I wrote down my answer, wrote down,
written it, stop your nick hate makes bad. It's a
bad look.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Yeah, I mean, because I know the guy that Clutch
Sports was trying to strong arm people about.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
He got drafted last pick. What Clutch sports guy didn't
get drafted? It's get rich. Paul's gonna go crazy the answers.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I'm not sure, okay, all right, all right, I cannot
think of one obvious guy that in two rounds didn't go. Okay,
all right, I mean, well it's a no answer for
Steve to saga.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
All right, very good as a PAC twelve guy.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I mean, the Arizona guy eventually signed one of these
two way contracts. Now that the draft is done, but
nobody has on the trips of their tongue. Hey, Zulus
Tabella's did not go tonight, Jason, Yes, I don't know
why you thought this was a trick question. Did you say,
adele des, do you have a drop.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
For this guy's name?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
You know that right?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Did you look?

Speaker 6 (03:25):
Did you cheat?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Did you look?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
You got the computer in front of you, it's got
the Dodger box score from last night.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
T shirt you got a guess I'm trying to think,
is Russell Westbrook on a team?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yes, he did not get drafted. You know he didn't
get drafted either day.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
He's correct on all of these None of those names
got drafted. The dropp or do I get the guests?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
No, no, no, no, Doug won't play the drop after
because I'm going to show the answer to everybody. Answer
someone we've talked about a lot the last four years,
Drew Timmy un drafted to him.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
A mad Jason, why are you show me a flix drafted?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I'm showing you just like a No. I need the
thing to put my my, my, my answer through like
they had that big trash can they have there. He
goes undrafted and it's not a huge surprise because it
was potentially was maybe he's going to go in the
second round. But no.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
But you're right, these are college All Americans. When I
mentioned Tubellas and Senogo which won the title for Yukon,
and you mentioned this guy is we.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Time All American who we talk about Kentucky all the time.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
We tell you one of the New York college players
we've been able to talk about did.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Work out for the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
So yeah. For the last twelve years, we've talked about
Drew Timmy during the.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Edentem Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason
Smith Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Two things about him. One, this is why when a
professional league wants you, you go.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I thought this was a game because if he came.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Out, well the game, we did the answer, that's the game.
The game is over.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
There's one answer.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Yeah, now you have to give him getting the Wheel
of Fortune.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Game.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Man, it's such a bad game.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
It's just one question. You mean, it's over now. It's
not a half hour show.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
When the NBA wants you, you go, right, when the
NFL wants you, you go. If Drew Timmy had turned
pro after twenty twenty one, he's a first round pick.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
It's like when Matt Barkley didn't go with USC quarterback.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah right, and and Matt Matt Lioner decided I'm going
to stay after I win the hot Dude, he's still
got first round money. Yeah, good round. But I mean
I saw him over at the US Open. He seemed
pretty happy.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
He only had that ballroom dancing class to finish the
degree in sty eligible.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
See that was exactly but he was the last.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, but he would have been the number one overall
pick in the draft had he come after we win
the already and yeah, but you know what, he would
have had a longer time to be able to prove
that he couldn't do it. S Yeah, but instead he
goes to Arizona and he gets a little bit of time,
and they change coaches who have no loyalty to him,

(06:17):
and as a number ten overall pick, we can move
on number one overall pick.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
I don't know that we can quite move on, So
Weyler Murray next year.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
But here's here's Drew Timmy, who after his freshman year
was Wow, look at be able to run your offense
for this guy. Look how talented he is. Look look
look how how smooth he moves. Right, we watched for
four years big ball fakes and everything else. Being able
to dominate games after a freshman year. Yeah, you go
to the NBA. He would have been a first round pick.
But what do we see the last three years he

(06:45):
was kind of the same player, and he was the
same player and was Okay, when you keep playing college
basketball and other guys come in with more NBA ready games,
they're gonna get drafted ahead of you. And Timmy knew
as a bit I gotta commit. I got to be
able to shoot better. I got to hit threes. Wasn't
He was the same guy. Terrific college basketball player, and
I still think he's got a lot of potential in

(07:07):
the NBA. But boy, the last three if you're going
to keep coming back and playing at Gonzaga, I get it.
But you got it. You got your eye out and
go I want to play in the NBA. What do
I need to do? Hey, develop this, this and this,
and he didn't do it. And I looked it up.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
By the way, you talk about shooting threes, drew Timmy
from three point range senior year at Gonzaga, four for
twenty four. And that Matt Barkley when he was at
Sea quarterback a decade ago, didn't go in either of
the first two days of the NFL draft.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Of Bill's legend, that's right that, Hey, you know what,
he collected a check for a lot of years. I
bet you could look up I guarantee you without even
looking Matt Barkley had a big game against the Jets.
Against the Jets in his.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
NFL Guarantee, Well, you were in the crowd with Smiths
to watch your team have a big game.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:51):
How many points did the Jets score that day? Jason,
I forgot as as.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
That would be zero?

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Yeah, yeah, yea, yeah, you know, I'm looking up Matt
bar thirty year.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Jason is the answered jello ball.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
It is.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
It is, yes, very good.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Not drafted.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
I got no undrafted. Yes, goody, there you go. But
he is selling sunglasses.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Look at tight shirt.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Let me tell you, thank you?

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Oh too soon, too soon? Yeah, I took him on man.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
He sells them to a touchdown passes again twenty eighteen
against the Jets.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
By the way, did he win that game?

Speaker 6 (08:31):
Forty?

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, of course he did.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
I know it. I know it.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Steve can throw seven touchdowns on the Jets. Oh, I know,
there we go. Thank you very much, Steve. All I
told you, Drew Timmy. I still like the kid. But again,
when when the NBA wants you, hey, you're a first
round pick. Oh, but that's the other part I'll get
is that you know what you got to do to
become an NBA player, so and not going to play

(08:58):
well if you start shooting threes, your we're not gonna
play really really really, I mean, I don't know how
you don't do that. You stay the same player and
you're you're you're a nice you know, nineteen twenty twenty
one point a game guy. You could take over some
games because it's co But I, I really I'm stunned
that he didn't have a bigger upward trajectory because he
was one of the few guys in college basketball the

(09:19):
week could talk about every March because we don't you
loved him, you hate him. He loved to blow kisses
of the crowd after dunks. Every UCLA fan I know
can't stand the guy. Kill can't stand him, even if
you like his mustache. But I really am surprised about that. Yeah,
I hope he got.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
Paid you know, nil and whatever money's uh could be
uh gotten during his tenure there twenty one point two
only seven and a half rebounds per game. Though, when
you're that big, that dominant, or seemingly that dominant. Like
obviously when the spotlight was on it was a lot
about Drew Timmy, uh, but seven to five a game,

(09:57):
that's that's not dominant big man, next level stuff. And
if you can't hit the three, and there's gonna be
some question of whether you can work in a in
the pace of most NBA offenses at this point, that's
the other part of it. I ain't gonna slow down.
And if you can't hit the the outside shot, all
of those are to his detriment. I just can't believe

(10:18):
he wasn't on the tip of the tongue given how
much we've talked about him in March year after year
after year.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I mean, hopefully he's a UDFA star and he's someone
who can be.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
But you know, but it also just goes to show
when we get to the draft, it's a it's a
much different animal. Right Generally you're juniors and seniors, and
we're not seeing a lot of that. He'll be on
a summer league roster, though, oh I doubt and Mike
one of those guys off the bench that that comes
in and gives you some minutes and and maybe he
goes on to a nice long NBA career, much like

(10:49):
Matt Barkley has collected a lot of game checks for
holding a clipboard and wearing advisor.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
In the NFL. He could be the new Greg Kite
nicely about that. He would be the Knicks best player
right now, Man, you're embarrassing yourself. Yes you are, Yes,
do came. Uh So, we got Rick Bucker coming up
in a few minutes, and we're gonna break down the
NBA draft a lot of Look, we'll get into the

(11:17):
Jordan Pool trade. He actually likes the trade for the Warriors,
which I can't understand. We'll have more on Victor Webbin
Yama and and and the physical questions you have about him,
just like we kind of had about Zion, except it's
about not enough weight compared to too much weight. But
one of the other big topics is the Nicks and
the Clippers are talking about a potential Paul George trade.

(11:41):
And this is one of those trades where I say
yes for both sides. Initially, when I saw this today,
I'm like, Oh, I told you the Knicks were gonna
make a big move, and they are. Whether it's you've
been looking for, you've been looking for, it's gonna happen.
They're good they because they have a bit, They have
a deep enough roster, and they have players they can
move on for a good number one, for a good
one A or two. With Brunson, you can move on

(12:02):
from RJ. Barrett who's too inconsistent, Obi Toppen is unhappy,
maybe Julius Randall and whatever it is. You can do that.
But Paul George is someone who is just like Chris
tops porzingis. He's a guy that wants to get paid
and operate in the shadows. And I don't want to
be someone that has to be relied on or has

(12:22):
to answer to the media all the time. I want
to just kind of go and do my thing. And
Paul George is still an All Star player in the NBA,
made the All Star team this year. He is still really,
really good. While New York is a pretty hot spotlight.
He would be the number three guy behind Brunson and
Randall if Randall doesn't go. But he'd be the number

(12:43):
three guy, and the Knicks need more scoring.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
That's absolutely become the number two guy because Randall's the
guy that everybody wants to push to the side, right,
But he's but I'm just saying like he's stuck around
the love affair of a it's a new guy.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
It's a new guy.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
He's when somebody else's you know, hit or miss physically. Uh,
and an ability to stay on the court. Uh, it's
not ours. He's a shiny new toy for us in
New York. He'd be beloved. Need overtake Randall.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah, but at least going in if he's playing, well, okay, great,
I'll give him that. Okay, now you're now, you're you're
you're getting in, you're acclimated, you can play. The Knicks
need a score, they need somebody. If they had a score,
they'd have beat the Heat. They'd move on to the
Eastern Conference Finals, and they would beat the Celtics. They'd
have been in the NBA Finals and they would have
got swept by the Nuggets. So just like this is
where they were. They would have beat the Heat, they

(13:35):
would have beat the Celtics, they would have got swept
by the Nuggets. So but the Heat were plucky and
they took you down. I get it. I love it
from the from the Knicks, and I love it from
the Clippers. Because you can't keep holding on to Kawhi
and Paul George saying Oh, at some point they're gonna
be healthy and we're gonna be This is like in
Wuthering Heights going oh, if Heathcliff could just be with Catherine.
It's oh, I gotta not gonna happen. You like that reference,

(13:56):
That's good. Oh, that's not It's been four years. It's
not going to happen. I was gonna say, is Hamlet
actually gonna do something? I mean, both work. You have
to move on. You can't just say well maybe this year. No,
you've tried so many iterations of Kawhi and Paul George.
It's not working. You gotta move on. Both sides gotta
make this deal.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
It's also a fairly well stocked roster, so you can't
let it, you know, keep burning that fuse. Right, It's
at some point it's say, all right, we got to
get something out of this. And if that means Paul
George leaves in lou and you bring in two or
three other bodies from the Knicks or somewhere else, that
that might be the best way to operate.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Hey, guys, speaking of undrafted, the Lakers are signing a
guy named Alex fudge.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
That's really out of Florida. Say where's he out of
iff Fudge?
