Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
So it could be a guy if he's thin. But okay,
never mind Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon is the Google response, not
give you what you wanted. You know, what I'm saying
is slim thick vic could if I don't know when
you said. When you say thick, I mean it's with
a yeah, well yeah, with the scene maybe maybe two.
(00:54):
That's not how it was. It would be three seeds.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
That could be true, you know, trying to come up
with nicknames for Victor Webbin Yama because he's gonna need
one because he's front page. I don't know, and no,
well you're the one that knows all this about the
adult film industry.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Like I thought it was a dude. It could have.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Been I didn't know slim thick thing. It could have been.
It could have been either one. Could have been a man,
could have been a woman. It could be either one.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Well, did you get your visual No, because I'm on
a work computer, I use yeah, yeah, that's a that
that's not the Let me see it's not smoking yet. Sure, okay,
all right, let me sall right, I am coming around
a little bit to slick Vic.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
I am coming around to slick Vic. Not come around
to slick Vic a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Well that I can. I can try that out now,
she'll come around to slick Vic. But but yeah, but
you know, yeah, I mean we got a lot of
the suggestions as you would expect, alongside the you know,
the Eiffel Tower and sure, yeah, the Eiffel stifle, the
Eiffel stifle and that sounds like the truffle shuffle theiff stifle.
It's not too far away. Oh, just his birthday yesterday,
(02:07):
Jeff B. Cohen. He's like forty eight, now, I know.
Yesterday was that weird convergence, right, it would have been
George Michael's sixtieth. Yeah, it was the anniversary of Michael
Jackson dying. And then we had the anniversary of the
Purple Rain soundtrack. Yeah, all three on the same day.
That is the eighties. Yes, that is right there, all
(02:31):
encompassed in one. I just remember.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I still remember where I was when I found out
Michael Jackson died. I was buying a new phone and
I was checking the internet speeds on phone. So I
went to a couple of different websites and it was
bulleting Michael Jackson dead.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I'm like, Michael Jackson's dead. Everybody in the store goes,
what I go, that's where it's where I got this.
I got this new phone. It's really fast. Wow, like
it did a commercials it's making up news for you
now and putting AI is that far ahead of us? No? No, no,
it's it's what And he died. I was like, oh my,
it was a weird day, right because you had same day. Yeah,
(03:04):
it was earlier in the day. It was earlier in
the day, right, you died earlier in the day. And
then Michael, Yeah, it was very strange. Had to kill
the mood guys. Harmon's the one that brings it up.
He brings up all the anniversary of all the people
who were dead, George, Michael dead, it wou would have
been his birthday. Elton John did a big tribute to
him in Who's Next. Man, Let's go back to vic.
(03:28):
I'm gonna try to hook.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
That up boy, Twitter and how about a Fresco Mike
has swollen dumb. You know you're you're kind of influencing
me a little bit off the air because we were
we were watching We're the two season. No no no, no, no, no, no,
no no no. We were watching we were watching this weekend.
Uh oh, Pam and Zoe were watching I Am Legend
(03:51):
because Zoe relis. I am watching a second time and
you know, I am Legends like a you know, thirteen
year old movie now for whatever you And so I
was doing something and they're watching Living Room when I
was coming back in and there was a point went
to commercial and then it came back out.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
It was a part.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
With with Will Smith and and Sam the Dog and
they've seen the movie before so they know it. So
I walked by and I did it you And I said, oh, you.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
See this dog. You see the dog? You see the
dog right here and I pointed the tea, Yeah, that
dog's dead. And I felt like you. I felt like
you going.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
I'm all about positive it that way.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
He's dead. You do that all the time. I'm the
grim Reaper. He wants to pay a little bit of
honor to the life that Jason. If Mike knocks on
your doortone hands there with Mike's the Reaper. You have
to wear like Sons of Anarchy Reaper Crew T shirts
like well, I do have that Undertaker shirt that kind
(04:47):
of he's got the has harmon, stay away, stay away
from Stay away.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
You would have been a pretty good death in Supernatural,
by the way, because Death was a person in super
Guy looked just like Death too.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
You know, I'll tell you it's like you came into
the You came into the audition going, yeah, that's Death.
That guy is Death. Look him up. That's a safe
look look up the guy who played Death on SuperNature. Go, yep,
that guy, he's Death. There goes, that's the guy. That's
TV show. I mean, they they personalized Death and God Strike. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
(05:26):
you just looked Death. Supernice. You said, yeah, that's him.
I was thinking it was more What was it, Bill Paxton? No, no, no,
it was William Sadler again.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Williams Sadler was passed away Pa, you can't help yourself.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
He just can't. You guys are William Sadler was Death
and Bill and Ted's right? Yes, yes, William Sadly, you
like that? I pulled williams sad and the Bad Guy
and die Hard too. Yes, very good. By the way,
the the look an individual, Yeah, it's pretty good. Not
(06:04):
putting it on a work computer, not doing it, not
doing it the Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Carmon. Now let's get to the latest involving Damian Lillard,
because today apparently the Blazers and Lillard had a meeting.
Many fans put up pictures on the Internet and photos
(06:25):
of them looking like they were scrubbing his picture from
a big mural outside the arena. Well it's time to
update it.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And a lot of people using pictures of Godfather to
illustrate their unhappiness with us.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Well, yeah, he did show up on Instagram, you know,
with his will Smith sendinitos on Miami.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
So he had the meeting with the with the brass
and after that was over, so we had the pictures
of the video of taking his name off the mural.
But then the GM says, oh, we had a great
discussion with with Dame and his agent. We look forward
to continuing to build around Damian Lillard.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
He sounds like Mike, Yeah, maybe he's actually GMing both teams. Mike, Hey,
you know what, it worked for him. I cat both
of these teams, right and me, come on, we're just
gonna We're just gonna make the Warriors older, right, Yeah,
it's fine. Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
And then Chris Haynes of Yahoo Uh does an interview
to that show. Yeah, that's right, form friend of the show,
and he said that, look, Dame doesn't want to go
to a team with like three stars. He just wants
to go to a team that has a chance. Like, dude,
those are teams that have chances, teams with stars.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
What do you mean? Want it loaded, but not too loads?
I don't want to look, I don't want to be
the guy. I just want to be.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I mean, that doesn't make any sense. I don't want
to go to it. I just want to have a chance. Well, okay,
so you want to go to all less than a contender?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
I gotta say this, dude, Just say it like Sam
Kinnison's famous, Like.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Just say you want to be traded, or say you
want to stay, and that's it because I'm done with
the Hey, this is my mouthpiece here, because obviously he's
interested in leaving, because we get these stories every off season,
and but obviously it's not so bad that he's really
wanted to leave because he has stayed in Portland. So
I'm done with this. Oh do I wanna stay? Do
I not want to stay? Oh? Are you gonna build
(08:08):
around me? Are you not gonna build around me? No,
make a bleeping decision and stick with it. Either you're
staying or you're gonna go. You're thirty three. If you're
gonna go, now is the time they drafted young players.
They want to build that way. Dude, you gotta say it.
You gotta If you want out, you have to say it.
Aaron Rodgers finally got traded to the Jets.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
After what happened, He finally went on television and told
Pat McAfee it's my intention to play with the Jets,
and after that what happened, the trade got done. I'm
sorry if you don't want to be the bad guy,
but you gotta be the bad guy. You gotta come
out and say I want out, and then you can
get out. Because where I am right now with Damian
lordand honestly is I think he reminds he looks like
(08:48):
someone that is afraid to go someplace else because if
they don't win, he'll get blamed. Because think about that statement,
I don't need to go someplace loaded with stars, just
where I have a chance. If I go some places
loaded and we don't win, guess what, it's my fault.
But if I go someplace that's maybe not great and
we fall short, I don't get the blame. He seems
like someone that doesn't want that kind of responsibility. But
(09:10):
that's been part of the calculated run in Portland. Right
If they go deep in the playoffs, they've overachieved. And
over the last two to three years, you've seen the
laudatory verbiage around the NBA, social media, NBA but also
the radio and television where Damian Lillard's star has risen.
(09:34):
And part of that, I think is all right, loyalty
to Portland. So part of your image, part of who
you've been is the fact that like all unlike all
the other stars, you haven't left. There's a couple of
guys that are still there, right, Giannis is still in Milwaukee,
and you've got Steph will stay as a member.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Of the Warriors up in the Bay Area. But how
many of these other guys left, right, Clay Draymond, They
may not stay there. I mean, they may not be lifers.
And so there's something to be said because think about
the legends that you know, whenever you have that short
list of guys that played their full career of this
many years plus in the same organization, what do you got?
(10:18):
You got Kobe and Dirk Noavitzky are the two guys
that come up all the time. Otherwise, guys are bouncing
all over the place. So for Damian Lillard, that's one
of one of those things. Yes, justin brings up the
greatness of Eudonnis Haslam still playing. He'll still be playing
in ten years. Well he was in the Lebron Dwayne Wade,
(10:38):
chrish Ball, Chris Bosh draft, right, so twenty years he
gets on that short list. But it's just that that
idea of all right, that's a nice feather in your
cap because if you never win here, you win as
you were loyal and you were damn determined that you
were going to get to that finish line with your
(10:58):
original squad. So by giving that up, He gives up
a little bit of himself. Right, But if he goes
to the winner or would be super team and it fails,
to your point, yeah, he's the new guy in town.
You're the guy, because you're the guy he goes. Anywhere
he goes, it's whoa. We've been waiting for this for years.
(11:19):
We've been waiting for Damian Lillard to join a new
team and join our team for year. He goes to
Miami and Miami doesn't make it back to the finals
and win. Next year, Jimmy Butler ain't getting the blame.
It's gonna be Oh, Damian Lillard didn't do it. And
I think it'll be that Eudonis Haslam retired no longer
on the man, just walk away. I can't believe that.
I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
We didn't for that one minute that we put him
into the NBA Finals. But that's what's gonna happen anywhere
he goes. If that team doesn't achieve, it's not gonna
be the established stars that are there. It's gonna be Oh,
look who didn't provide enough help? And it's Damian Lillard's
fault and everything that tells me, I like staying in
Portland because I don't want that everything that goes along
(11:58):
with I want to go someplace that has a chance,
but not loaded. Why would you not want to go
to a loaded team You're gonna win championship? Why would
you not want to do that?
Speaker 1 (12:05):
No, I don't want to go. That's too much pressure.
I'm telling you, he sounds I don't want that pressure
because that's a really terrible quote to get out, by
the way, for so many reasons. Yeah, he's had a
great life and great run in Portland where all the
attention he gets is positive. Damian Lillard's great. If they
don't win, it's not his fault and they haven't given
him enough help. And when he is great, he's great
(12:27):
and that's all. And he stays so and there's no
how can you ever, the guys wanted to say, he's
enjoyed nothing but great publicity his entire run and now
all that can change. And I and I guarantee that's
a lot of what he's thinking about the last couple
of years, because that makes everything makes sense. Well, I
think the summary statement, and we've talked about it a bunch,
(12:47):
is and I think we were the only people or
at least I was to celebrate James Harden when he
went to that podium and said I want out, this
doesn't work. I wish more guys would do that. And
Damian Lillard with these quotes coming from Chris Haynes kind
of is just don't use Chris Haynes as the mouthpiece
or your Instagram. Yeah, you're gonna do the Miami thing,
(13:09):
but it's talk to it. It's all come, it's all
it's it's all come through Chris Haynes. Other we always
get other people talking about Dami Lob. We get nothing
from him. Right last year, I want Jason Kidd as
my coach. Do we hear him say I would? Did
someone say I talked to him and he said I
want Jason Kidd as Michael that He had to do
an interview saying, no, I like, I like who we
brought in. Uh, Jason's great, but I I mean that
(13:31):
that's just how it is. That's how it is. He's
I I wonder if he would just fold under that pressure,
fold could never be a nick Yeah, what's up? Prosperous?
Would you know about pressure? The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon We will have more on
(13:52):
the NBA coming up the rest of this hour, But
straight ahead, could we potentially see a milestone be reached
we didn't think we were gonna see maybe ever again.
It's next right here, Jason and Mike taking you back
to the Bengals nineteen eighty seven here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
live from the Tirack dot Com studios. Now, before we
get to a milestone we could potentially see that I
never thought we'd see again. Justin Frossburg may have the
leader in the clubhouse for Victor Webbin Yama's nickname. Okay
(14:50):
he may no, no, no, the other one that's not
gonna work. He's really been selling that one hard.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Yes, I mean he's that that would be the Laker
nickname for him. But on this worst you should patent
this because this so far, honestly, this is the best one.
I mean, I like, I like Vic the Brick. That's
a good one. But hello, but this might be this
might be the best one. God, you say, because it's
your idea. The Eiffelman, the Eifleman kind of like the Eiflelman.
(15:16):
Chuck person was the Chuck person, Well, Chuck person was
Chuck Connors, then Chuck Person, Chuck Connor's former Chicago cub
Chuck then Chuck Chuck Chuck Shick from from Caddy Shack. Yeah,
Chuck Chuck, Chuck Finley, Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Sure, what about just Chucks the shoes?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
What about better luck Chuck the Condor?
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yeah, it was better luck Chuck. Yeah. Yeah. What was
the other one? The Condor? I now pronounce you Chuck
and Larry, Yeah, Larry and Chuck. Yeah. I don't. I
don't think Chuck the Condor rates though he's got a
lot of Yeah yeah, but did you see how much
that Bamber just pushed him aside in favor of his toilets.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
That's so that's like Inland Empire, only for Chuck the Condor.
That's he's playing Englewood. Ye know what was the other
what was the superhero show? Was Zachary LEVI was in
my name is Chuck or something like that?
Speaker 1 (16:08):
He was, Oh, you're right, You're right right. I Chuck
was my name. They call me Chuck, Chuck Chuck couldn't
it was? It was? It was They called me Chuck
would if a wood Chuck would would? Well there, I mean,
now you're getting it back in your Dave Coolier and
full house. It was just a series was called Chuck.
(16:29):
It was we really overthought that one. Chuck what Chuck? Chuck?
Chuck just had a dial it back? Who's had a
dial it back? That would have worked out? Well? Uh so?
But I tell you the Eiffelman it's a good one. Frostburg.
You just hear the call. The Eiffelman shoots the lights
out from three timeout Lakers. You still don't like the
(16:51):
slender Man? No, and parents wouldn't like that. I don't
think that would do well. You know, you learn lessons.
I think that's a bad annotation. How did we forget
Chuck e Cheese? Oh, Chucky Cheese? Yes, we are the
official rat ranking show. Think about if he was just
a little bit more short. We call him Eiffel sixty
(17:11):
five I full sixty. Okay, that's a computer reference, computer reference.
No blue dabadba daba die I don't know if I
would die, I don't know what I would die. Okay,
are we allowed to say to that right now? What
is that? What is that from Steve Williams? What's it's
a song? You don't remember? Blue? By who?
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Fifel sixty five?
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Blue? You're My boy? No, I thought Iifel sixty five
you're making computer reference. Don't have to play I already
played it earlier. Actually, I don't think that's a song.
It is Eiful sixty five. Yeah. Ever, the name of
the band is Eiffel sixty five. The name of the
song is blue. Okay, that's way too obscure. Don't forget
Chuck from Pokemon. It's like the biggest thing in like it. No,
(17:55):
it was not the biggest. It was. It was huge
everywhere I was in my late twenties, in the late
in the late nineties. That was nowhere. That was there
was nowhere, absolutely nowhere. Not No, it was it. Someone
just did it, like a cover of it again. So
it brought it back. No, they did, No, No, No,
it wasn't everything to bring back. They can't exist in
the beginning. Okay, you realize that song did actually hit
(18:16):
number one?
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Really see no stop stop stop, stop for an hour.
Don't put any oxygen to that argument. Just say that
song never made the Billboard Hot one hundred chart, well
top top ten in the US, but globally it hit
number one.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
A lot of playces. Oh, globally outside of the United States. No, no, no, no,
you're doing the same thing. Number one in Portugal. It's great. Yeah,
it's awesome. They were dancing with that. Hoof did sing it, Christianno,
Ronaldo was dancing to it. It was awesome. Number one
in Iceland. Oh, what a great song in Iceland. Hey,
I know a lot of people, really a weird, weirdly
(18:52):
odd number of people that have gone to wrekavic in
the last year because it's so cheap. It's like, you
can fly here to Iceland for like three hundred bucks.
Let's go. Looney did it after a show one night
when he was here. I'm going to Iceland really now,
flying right now? J he went to Iceland.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
You could fly to Iceland see Taylor Swift round trip
cheaper than going to see her in like Cincinnati.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
By the way, it only hit number four in Icelandati Global,
Well it was just in Cincinnati. I mean they how
much is the La Dayla Cruise in Cincinnati said they
are well now that they're selling out, the first sellout
since nineteen hundred. They had the other night. A lot
of people are at these Taylor Swift concerts. That was
the stat And the seats I have for my daughters
(19:35):
are worth way more than you buy.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Why don't you sell them to make money? You'd make
like four thousand dollars. Kids would hate me, sure they wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
They would say, here, you could go see a concert,
or here's for you know what properly response was, your
kids will just hate the No no, no.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
You can say we could go to the concert, or
what you do is you buy a briefcase.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Just go on Craigs.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Let's buy a briefcase in Nice Shining went for about
twenty bucks and you put four thousand dollars in it
and you open it and shows we can go to
the concert, or you can have this who we used
to play a concert.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
We used to play the dealer. I could watch Taylor
Swift on YouTube in my in the comfort of my
own home, TikTok all around man, my whole film A
thousand dollars. Don't got to be there on your phone.
I could just watch a.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Different concert on YouTube and keep four thousand, four thousand.
I don't think Harmon really has the tickets. I don't
think he does.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
His kids don't.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
I don't think he does because I think he would
have sold him by now, he would have sold him.
I think what happened his brothers probably got them illegally
somewhere and they're hot whoa.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
And so don't go casting a spersions on my phone.
Normally I would say I got these two tickets. I
got these two tickets hard. But you can't tell anybody
my brothers are stand up, straight laced individuals. No, they're not.
I met both of them. They are wonderful human beings,
absolutely are not. I mean, we are from the South
side of Schict. But we can have you disappeared. But
(21:02):
I got a deal for you two for ten. But
since I really like you, three for fifteen. There's some
good stuff in that box right there. Let's get there
in that box, let's get the Freddy Freeman. Okay, so.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Up until I don't want to say up until yesterday,
but we've had this conversation. We touch to John Paul
Morosi about it early in the show. MLB Network insider,
and I remember having the conversation with him after Miguel
Cabrera got to three thousand hits. This is this is
probably gonna be the last three thousand hits that we
ever see, at least for the next twenty some odd years,
(21:37):
because no one's playing now that is potentially going to
be a player to get three thousand hits. Right, We're
probably not gonna see a three hundred win pitcher ever
again in major specialization, So we're never going to see
that again. Two hundred is going to be a tough
cho but I think you'll see people get to two hundred.
You pitch long, you get to I think you'll get to.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
It's a lot of years. Yeah, think about how many
how many starts your favorite pitcher has had sabotage because
they don't pitch even seven most of the time. Right,
that's three full innings of chaos. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
But if you're if you play, if you have a
good five year run with a team, five or six
year run with a good team, that's one hundred wins, right,
could you win fifteen games a year? You know you
can win fifteen games a year. I mean, look, Kershaw
has had a great fifteen years. He's in two six.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
But that's what I mean, that's a that's a long time.
I mean you can get two Ndred did get to
two hundred.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
To get to two hundred, right at hundred if you
have a look, if you pitch fifteen years, but you
have a five or six year run where you pitch
with a good team, you can win fifteen games a year.
That's half your wins. So at two hundred is going
to be is gonna be doable? Two fifty, I don't
know if that's doable, but two hundred could be doable.
But three hundred forget it. And I don't think we'd
get a three thousand hit guy in our lifetime.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
But after this yesterday, now there might be a chance.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
To Freeman fly ball right center, racing on back Tucker.
He can't get it arriving at second base. Freddy Freeman
career hit two thousand and all together, fitting and proper
it is with a double at a standing ovation for
Freddy Freeman.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
There's Charlie Steinner on a five seventy with the call.
So make it two thousand hits for Freddy Freeman. If
there's one guy to get there. This is the guy
right because he and jose al Tuove right now, same age,
around the same number of hits, but al Twove has
been on a downward curve since they found out a shit.
(23:41):
Oh to think he had four to two hundred year
hits in a row, seasons of two hundred hits in
a row, but now he's kind of settled in around
one sixty.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Seems like that dipped quite a bit since, you know,
Rob Manfred looked the other way, especially at home, especially
those home games. Not hitting at home not quite the same.
So I think Manfred gives him an extra five hundred hits,
you know what, he might you know what, in addition
to absolution, we're also going to augment, So I'll hit
(24:09):
to him.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Al Tuove will probably get to a little bit over
two thousand by the end of this year, but he's not.
You need about one hundred and eighty hits a year
to get there. If Freddy Freeman gets a hundred and
eighty hits a year, he can get there in five years.
Now one hundred and fifty hits a year and Freeman
gets there in six now, why do I give it?
(24:29):
I give it a thirty percent chance of it happening.
It's very difficult because you have to be producing when
you're thirty seven, thirty eight, thirty nine, and that doesn't
And that's what people forget about. Oh, because Freddy Freeman
now thirty three, thirty four to thirty five. I mean,
look at the way the guy's hitting. But you got
to be doing it thirty seven, thirty eight, thirty nine.
You have to be getting the playing time that merit
you playing all the time. But it's one hundred and
(24:50):
fifty hits a year. The thing that's gonna help Freddy
Freeman is that a he's gonna be able to start
dhing because now he's playing first base every day and
eventually it's gonna be your best. That is too valuable.
Let's keep you in the lineup more. You'll DH more
in the next couple of years. He'll segue away from
playing first base every day. Sure, he's tied to the
Dodgers till twenty twenty eight, so he'd be with a
really good team in theory for the next five years.
(25:13):
And also he's someone who has become a better hitter
as he's gotten older. His first ten years in the league,
he had three hundred four times the last four years,
he's at three hundred. All right, Couple it with Atlanta,
couple now with the Dodgers. He has become a better hitter.
And now he's been on a team the last four
years that's been really really good. The Braves have gotten
(25:35):
really good, the Dodgers have been really good. He's protecting
the lineup. But now look at him. The guy's raking.
So yeah, one hundred and eighty hits the next few years, Yeah,
one hundred and fifty. If he plays to thirty nine, sure.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I'll give him a thirty percent chance, because if it's
not Freddie Freeman, we're at least twenty years away from
the next guy. But I will give But Freddy Freeman
is that guy that in five or six years we
could be talking about. This is a guy getting a
three thousand. Yeah, I mean, I dig the fact that
we're talking about Miles Stone. We did a lot with
the aforementioned Miguel Cabrera and some of these pitching milestones.
(26:06):
Clayton Kershaw's count to two hundred was something we chronicled
quite a bit on the Home of the Dodgers AM
five to seventy LA Sports one of our fine affiliates
here at Fox Sports Radio. And so when we look
at what Freddie Freeman's doing here, and as you mentioned,
with the years on the contract in Los Angeles, knowing
that you changed a lot of faces this year, and
(26:28):
I don't expect this team to look anywhere near the
same in six weeks from now. I think there'll be
some additions and some changes that go through. Maybe some
of the prospects were starting a bit of a shuffling.
I know, Frospering. You're trying to get Otani here fast.
I don't know that he's here on the first thing smoking,
but we'll see. Crazier things have happened in Major League Baseball,
(26:51):
but you don't have that longevity, you don't have that history. Now,
maybe the changes of the rules will allow some of
these younger players a little bit of an opportunity to
rise of it. But I mean, that's a lot a
lot of luck right the blue pit that doesn't get
caught and lands consistency, you don't go into prolonged slumps,
(27:13):
you're not on the injury list. A ton takes a
lot to get to those kind of milestones. Freddie Freeman,
in his time with the Dodgers. I mean you just
between he and Mooki Betts, like, there are two textbook
swings for you to watch how they go about their business.
So for Freeman, it's gonna be an interesting run. I
hope that we have a higher percentage than you're thirty
(27:36):
because I mean, that's good for baseball, right, It's good
for baseball when we've got guys chasing milestone. Just go
back to Aaron Judge chasing a single season, but those
career numbers, because that also means the Dodgers are doing
a lot of winning. So all our people here in
our studios are gonna be pretty happy to twitter it
out about a Fresco. Mike has swalling down the Jason
(27:56):
Smith Shore with my best friend Mike Carman, just to
give you a hit about all these other players.
Speaker 3 (28:01):

exactly locket in there. I'm telling you, if it's not
Freddy Freeman, we're not seeing it. Jason Smith's Show with

A promise made and a promise kept by Tiger head
coach Day Johnson.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
I don't know if all is right in the world,
but for that slice of heaven, right though for them? Sure.
Eighteen four win by LSU beating Florida to win the
National Championship. LSU Radio Network on the call, I want
to say this, Could I join the billionaires club if
I simply bet the over on every College World Series game?
(30:33):
It's a good question. Could I do that? I just
certainly I don't change anything. I just start bet the
over over over over over. I gotta I gotta admit.
When we started watching you know a little bit of
highlights as we were sitting around a little on Saturday night.
I didn't know where the Angels game ended in the
College World Series stopped. It was just one big game.
(30:53):
It goes all the way, you know, I get. It
just flowed straight through. There were just runs and runs
and more runs. Where it began where it ended?
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Question for you guys, what you prosburg is Oh Dell
Beckham Junior allowed to celebrate this one? Or no?
Speaker 1 (31:05):
He can't just come near the campus for he's not allowed.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
No.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
Yeah, but I did see him jumping on the field
the end, handing out cigars.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
To some of the Yeah, Burrow there, I didn't you
know what it was. Burrow doesn't care anymore. I got
the natch lock. We did have a pretty good chuckle
on that on the night that that actually happens, Like,
is that open? Odell Beckham Junior with Burrow? Who what? Yeah?
First College World Series appearance since twenty seventeen from the
quick Burrowhead.
Speaker 6 (31:33):
They got a game at Burrowhead. They used to have
a coach named Smoke. Smoke a Burrowhead. I still love Burrowhead.
Got a game at Burrowhead.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Now you're out of your mind. Oh it's been too long.
We haven't said Burrowhead in like five months. But we
I mean, you're a Christmas now, you know, I know
a Christmas. But ls Barrowhead wins again and once again
South Florida loses. So you put it up this week
or you wait? Yeah, no, no, no, no, I wait
because because they know because Costco gets them fourth of July.
(32:05):
So that's what someone did have their their lawn decorated
by me today. I wasn't quite sure what the inflatable was,
but there was something going on.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
But if next door to jj Abrams, why are you
shopping at Costco? I go to Costco all the time?
Speaker 1 (32:17):
How you stay rich? Don't you know?
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I got dull whip now too? Not at my Costco.
I go to the busiest bleeping costco in the country.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Costco. It's the worst because it's it's the busiest costco
in the country. Did you know that.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Busiest Costco in the country is the one you he
started throwing bread at you or something that he saw you.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Yeah, yeah, busiest one in the country. Really, that is documented. Yes,
busiest costco in the country because you go there so old,
because everybody goes the only one on the West side
of Los Angeles. How often you go through the samples line.
I'm from the South side of Chicago, just here on vacation.
There's no samples line. This's you got to find him
in the store. But I mean sometimes people sometimes to
get like a free pizza sample. I gotta stand next
(32:59):
to Oh, here's where the where you're gonna make me
buy beach towels? Okay, great? They put him in very
very strategic places. Well, if you don't need the beach towel,
it's not much of a decision. You look at the
designs on the beach towel. Maybe you do that thing
where you stare real hard so things get fuzzy and
there's patterns emerging from the beach towel, and then you
(33:20):
get on with your life.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Two big NFL stories, Yeah, let's let's close with them
right now. The New York Jets are recruiting Dalvin Cook. Yeah,
I've already had some players talk about getting him this weekend.
Then former teammate Tyler Conklin, Jets tight end who played
with Dalvin Cook in Minnesota for four years, tweeted out, Hey,
Dalvin come to New York, and he liked the tweet.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
I'll tell you this, it's his friend being showing some hospitality.
I am still stunned Dalvin Cook is out there, which
shows you his value. It's not gonna be what he wants,
what he expects. I am stunt. Whether it's the Jets
or somebody else, I'm surprised he's out there for the
next two years. Absolutely give me Dalvin Cook. Don't want
to be out there. See if something really emerges where
(34:02):
he could be the guy. Oh somebody, all the money's
gonna be out that money. Oh look, there's fifteen just
gruntled running backs. They could have their own reality show
that like The Bachelor or whatever else because they're all
salty that they don't have a huge contract to go to.
But with Dalvin Cook, it's also the Jets. I mean,
Breise Hall is gonna come back. You want to be
(34:23):
those point At some point, I have two guys, but
in you know, Miami's got their guys. Maybe he wants
to go back to Florida. But in the end, do
you want to be in mini camp. They could take
a couple of weeks off because now you've got people
talking about you and talking about how great you are
and how many years you have left. So yeah, I
mean just like Aaron Rodgers, please look at me. I'm
(34:45):
at the Tonys. He's learned by watching him Pro Football Talks,
Mike Florio says, watch out next March. There could be
a battle for Kirk Cousins between the Rams and the
forty nine ers. Now, first of all, for the forty
nine ers, this tells you they really if this is
the case, they really don't like Brock Purty and Trey
(35:06):
Lance as much as they say they do, because we
see it. They're still matched with every quarterback who may
come along at some point. Guy fits the suit, and
maybe Kirk Cousins would stop the bleeding there and could
stay healthy for a while. Maybe I'd love to see
the Rams get him, But how you eight staffords't do?
Way too much money, way too much dead cap. Gonna
(35:27):
have to convince him to retire. Coming up next in
for Ben Mallard's Bern and Bernie Fratto for Mike im Jason.
