Can't wait for him. Who's Skipp's new co? Ho is
gonna be? I'm gonna give you a little bit of
a hit, is it me? Is it skipping Arnie? That'd
be a lot of fun, Bertie. I'm telling you that
right now. If was skipping Arnie, I would watch damn right, yeah,

(01:13):
damn right, you would.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But we'll see. I will let you know who Skip's
gonna co host with all that coming up in this hour.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
First, Oh, my friend, I do want to ask you this.
I'm a little disappointed because I've been hearing bad reviews
on the Indiana Jones movie. Are you a Indiana Jones guy?
I love those movies. I mean they're iconic. They're like
when you say, like top ten iconic movies out there
in the history of movies.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
And I hear some people like it, but it's getting
bad reviews. Bertie, I don't know where you're.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Saying that it's going to the well won too many times? Right, Well,
that's what you realize. The original came out in nineteen
eighty one and that opening scene with that that giant
rolling boulder down. Yes, yeah, okay, and that kind of
set the stage and the special the facts. We're ahead
of their time. And you know, Harry now what HOWLDS

(02:03):
Harrison fort now bout ninety three? You know, look, I'm
not gonna go see it. They've managed to milk the
hell out No, they managed to milk the hell out
of that brand, that franchise. For all it's worth uh,
you know, is there no new creativity in the world, right?
I mean, come on, man, So the long and the
short of it is, I haven't seen it. I don't

(02:26):
know what the reviews it's getting. I don't particularly not.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
It's not getting good reviews. It really is not.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
But though that's the experts, I don't know if I do.
You normally agree with the experts.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
On what they tell you to go see see a
movie or not or what not?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Usually not, but I don't. I don't base whether or
not I'm going to see a movie on their critics review.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Right.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
They look for things to go wrong. I mean, you know,
there's certain I'm big on dialogue and plot. I don't
really care too much. I mean, you know, chase scene,
shoot them up. Okay, that's mundane, non mindless stuff to me.
I like good you know, die and I like good
plot driven you know, thoughtful movies. You know, they bring

(03:05):
a lot of elements in and I don't know, maybe
in Dana Jones's want of them, I'm not so sure.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
So, I mean I like it. So I'm gonna go
ahead and check it out. I'll have some time next
week when I'm not filling in and I'll just go
ahead and see how I like it.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
But yeah, I always loved all their movies. Man, he
was a I'm a big fan of his.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
You know.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
So Harrison Ford, Yeah, I always liked him. And he's
got into acting late. You know that, don't you?

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Yeah? Oh yeah, I know he's in a hell of
her career. There's no doubt about that. He's he's still
box office I would imagine.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Yeah, all right, Bertie Watt's going on this hour. Like
I said, we got a lot of NBA to get to.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
But first, something we didn't even expect to really talk
about coming into the show, but it was kind of
a story kind of broke with twenty thirty minutes before
we got on the air.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I was texting Plank about this. I'm a little confused.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
But San Diego State, who at first said they were
going to opt out of what the Mountain Western was
a and now they didn't say they were going to
go to the PAC twelve, but there was specul they
go to the PAC twelve, and then just a couple
of days ago, maybe what four or five days ago,
they said they were going to go.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Back and go back to the Mountain West.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Now the Mountain West came out with a statement, this
is getting crazy right now, Bertie, what's going on here?

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Well, let's demystify this for a second. San Diego State
has always literally going back to the eighties, had designs
of wanting to be in the PAC ten, pack eight,
PAC twelve, whatever you want to call it. Right, Well,
all of a sudden, now fast forward to a year
ago and the PAC twelve loses two landmark brands, right

(04:36):
USC and UCLA. They're going to the Big ten in
twenty twenty four. So the PAC twelve, there's no doubt
in my mind, had designs on looking at a couple
of schools, including San Diego State, maybe even SMU, but
it's all predicated on them getting a new TV deal,
which they have not gotten. In early May, san Diego

(04:59):
State a letter to the Mountain West Conference. Powers to
be in the Mountain West Conferences is UNLV, Boise State,
Utah State, Air Force, San Jose State, all those schools,
Wyoming and San Diego State has had great success in
this conference right certainly in basketball their fixed ure or
fixedure in the NCAA Tournament, they went to the Allitiate

(05:22):
with Kawhi Leonard, you know, many years ago and lost
to Yukon. This year they got to the finals right
lost to Yukon. So they've done a phenomenal job of
that program. The football program has been solid. They win
the Mount West Conference just about every year every other year,
and they go to a bowl game. So they have
designs on being part of the Pac twelve. And if

(05:43):
I'm being unfair, San Diego State has evolved tremendously as
an academic school. It's just a party school.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Oh, you used when I was younger, used to be
a part that was like you went to San Diego
State when you didn't get into the other schools.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Well, we played we played them in baseball. My favorite
weekend trip was San Diego State. You go to that
two bit sub that's a story for a different day.
San Diego State was a big time party school. Now
it's a very good academic school. And so fast forward
to all of a sudden what they all happened the
last few days. Well, there was an expiration date. The
San Diego State brass had to let the Mont West

(06:16):
know by June thirtieth if they were going for sure,
because you got to pay an exit fee. Well, and
it's it's not a small exit fee. Well, one thing
led to another and the PAC twelve has been completely unaimed.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I think exit fee was like thirty four million dollars.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
It was exactly that's you nailed it. So, you know,
San Diego State opened a new football stadium. You know,
they keep winning the football conference all that, so it
looked like it was lining up. Well. The PAC twelve
did not get their TV deal. They're still right in
the middle of this media rights negotiations and they're trying

(06:52):
to bargain with ESPNN, Fox, but it looks like ESPN
and Fox are losing interest for whatever reason. Fax is
facts and because they didn't get their TV deal and
San Diego State, I think tried to finagle and play
both sides against the middle. They're not going back with
their tail between their lengths site. Okay, I guess we'll
come back to the Mount West after all, because we

(07:14):
didn't get the PAC twelve didn't get their TV deal.
And at the end of the day, it's been it's
been reported that the PAC twelve actually never extended San
Diego State an official offer in the first place. Okay,
So do I think that could have happened, and maybe
would have happened that the Pac twelve got their TV deal,
so there's a probability it would have happened. But all

(07:34):
it all fell apart, and the apex had to do
with revenue coming from a new TV deal for either
ESPN or Fox or both. Everything went away.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
So what happened now? Now?

Speaker 4 (07:44):
San Diego State said they wanted to come back, but
the Mountain West is not taking them back. Now they said,
you didn't get in your paperwork in time, and now
you owe it's an exit fee of like seventeen million dollars.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
So I saw that as well. I saw that as well.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Do they not want them back? Are they just playing games?
Do they just want the money?

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I can't imagine they really want to kick Sandy he
goes stay out of the conference now, do they No?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I'd be shocked if that happened. And I think they're
trying to save face. So you get a little brinksmanship here.
It's political maneuvering, and these things happened. I remember when
nineteen ninety four, of my first year on the raidos
back in ann Arbor and the Big ten issued a
formal invitation for Notre Dame to join the conference in

(08:29):
Notre Dame basically gave him the middle finger, and they
that's the second time they'd notary had done it. I
think they did it in the sixties as well, and
the Big Ten has never forgotten that there's a real grudge.
So when you hear all these rumors in the last
few years, well, yeah, Notre Dame's are natural nol it's
not because they don't want to be there. And the
Big Ten is scoring twice So I think to Mount West, look,
it's all going to come down to the contract. If

(08:50):
San Diego State gave notice before June thirtieth, which is
what the drop dead was, well then I think that
you know they're in compliance. But these are legal things
and I don't have the details to argue this is
in moot court. So I did see what you saw
in terms of the Mount West perhaps trying to extract
their pound of flesh. But I will promise you the
Mount West is not stronger with San Diego State out

(09:13):
of the conference, and they got a full slate this
year in the new stadium and all kinds of stuff,
So I'm sure cooler heads will lin the prevailing.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
What's gonna happen to my pac twelve and more important,
my Arizona Wildcats. Because I thought Arizona was gonna go
to the Big twelve, not the Big twelve added four teams.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
That doesn't look like a possibility.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
So what's Arizona either the SEC, which that's not gonna happen,
or they got to go ahead and go to the
Big Ten.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
And I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm not sure
what's gonna happen to them Wildcats.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Well, I think that there is arms length interest, maybe
even more so that the Big twelve has not only
in Arizona but also in Colorado. Right, because if the
Big twelve can get their hands around a Pacific West
Coast media market, right, the schools that have been mentioned,
and this goes back to March, hasn't been talked about

(10:00):
a lot since Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado. Nothing
has happened. Right, the Big twelve has showing more interest
than the Big Ten. I don't think that the Big Ten.
I keep hearing Oregon and Washington they got their hand out.
From what I can see, they want to be part
of the Big Ten. It's got to remember, because I've
worked I covered in that conference seventeen years. People say, well,

(10:24):
why do they invite Rutgers. By the way, Rutgers is
a good, very good death Lantic program. Now because of
the market New York City market, why did they invite Maryland? Washington,
DC market? Is it really worth it though? Is kerts
for that type of mark? How many people in that
area are? Right New York metro. Here's what you got
to remember. There are more Michigan alums in all of

(10:44):
those cities and any other school in the country. Michigan's
been around, so it's eighteen seventeen, so you got there
are fifteen thousand transplanted michigan Ers living here in Las Vegas,
and a lot of them are University of Michigan grads.
So when Michigan played, you're gonna draw a TV audience,
whether it's in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, d C.

(11:06):
New York. And the Big Ten, even though they got
fourteen teams, they're a trademark copyrighted brand, so they're never
gonna change their name. So what the Big Ten has
been able to do as a result of proving that
they can bring massive numbers of eyeballs to their games
every Saturday is negotiate a contract. That's the envy of
the SEC and the ACC and the pacts. Twelve has

(11:28):
been asleep at the wheel for a decade a decade.
They should have been out in front of this ten.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Years ago, because that's leadership.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
But these are quality, historic football programs. Okay, USC, come on,
it's right they.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I'm gonna miss them UCLA and USC. They're gonna be
missed big time, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Oh you should see the home and away schedule the
first year too. You know, I think Ohio State comes
to UCLA, USC goes. Yeah, it's really it's really gonna
be cool.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
And what about Oklahoma Texast's go to the SEC. I'm
sure I saw their schedule. They look fat Dad's thing.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
Well, well, this is really going to be sensational. There's
no question that when you get the blue bloods together
and you get the stars together and the big name,
iconic teams, that truly is enticing to the average fan
and of course the alumni fan bases around the country.
But that's what makes the big ten TV contracts who
appealing to the suitors because they know that they're reaching

(12:21):
more households than anybody else. The PAC twelve is trying
to do a fact similar that they have been able
to do it. Had they been able to, I think, frankly, honestly, Arenie,
I think San Diego, SI would have been a good
addition to the PAC twelve because their athletic program is
very good and you know, the viehas Arena thirteen thousand.
That experience with the San Diego shol is one of
the best in college basketball. And I think the football

(12:43):
program would have continued to be able to recruit. There
would have been more revenue. It just didn't happen.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
No, didn't happen. I'll tell you. I'm curious to see
what the next step is gone. By the way, have
you bet on any college football games?

Speaker 5 (12:55):
Jed or No? No, I've held off. I did bet.
I did bet the under four and a half wins
on Colorado and.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
They're not good. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
Well, look, I love Dion. There's lots of reasons for
me to like Dion, and I can describe them all.
I would just say this, this isn't you know some fantasy.
Just throw a bunch of kids that can run fast
and jump high into a blender and add water. Let
me give you a little TCU got fairly hit hard
by graduation. Right, well, Colorado opens up at TCU. Oh yeah,

(13:28):
TCU is a twenty one point favorite in that game.
So I don't see Colorado getting to five wins. Wow,
I like Deon, give them time, give them three years,
so you know what you got. But I think they
got a bit of a target on their back. But
guess what what does Deon do? He puts asses in seats.
They're selling out there in Boulder. What they have like
thirty thousand for the spring game in Boulder. You know,

(13:53):
I think even more con menu were there for crying
out loud a couple of months ago.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
You know, people people bet that to win the championship.
You know about don't you?

Speaker 5 (14:00):
Bertie Well, My good buddy Mike Pritchard, who lives here
in Vegas, a college football Hall of Famer. He was
on the Colorado national championship team in nineteen ninety played
for Bill McCartney. He was MVP the championship game against
Notre Dame. I think he bet the over And I said,
you know, Micah, you know that's not like a little
fanboy actionary. I mean, I love Mike, But come on, man,

(14:21):
I think it's I think it's a little delusional to
think they're going to step on the field and do
what they hope to do now three years from now. Look.
I get such a kick out of Diatt. I love
the way he communicates. I thought he was a great
baseball player. He's a brilliant He would be great in
the media anything he puts his hands on. So I'm
not betting against the guy other than after this year.

(14:41):
And I will never forget when he walked in after
National Signing Day and it was reminiscent of the scene
from Trading Places when Eddie Murphy had the party and
he looked around and it's late at night and everything's
torn to shreds everywhere, and there's beer cans.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
And putting out their calls on my floor, and he says,
he said, get the fu.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
That's what basically Beyon Dinny walked into a group and
said get the f out, And I go, well, you
know what, you can't fault the guy because you know
where you stand with him.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Alright, he's Bernie FRADOIMARTI span you're Bernie Win's the last

(17:26):
insider our buddy Mark Medeen, How you doing Mark?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Thanks for stopping on by my friend.

Speaker 7 (17:31):
I'm doing well, just trying to keep up with all
this NBA news. It's like moving rapid fire here.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yeah, well, you know what, like we got to start
with with Damian Lillward. We're contractually obligated. But how long
is this going to take? And they say he's going
to take a couple of weeks. I don't understand why
when you know there's really what Miami, Philadelphia may be
Brooklyn and that's really it. It seems like I don't
know why it's going to take a couple of weeks.
What's going on on that front.

Speaker 7 (17:56):
Well, here's the reason yaud say a couple of weeks
I would buckle up. Here is at the Roland Trailblazers,
they're comfortable with playing the long game because, look, they're
not obligated to trade Damian LOWERD number one. They're also
not obligated to trade Damian Loward to the Miami Heat.
And so I think that they're parameters of what makes
a good deal for them is if this deal maybe

(18:17):
isn't necessarily equal in return, very rarely does that happen,
But is this move still enough to keep them in
playoff contention? And so because of that when you look
at Miami, if they're not trading Jimmy Butler or bam Adebayo,
which they aren't, it's hard to really reconcile with who
else would be of interest for Portland. So that's where

(18:37):
the interesting challenge is going to be. And while we
might be talking about this, you know, weeks even months from.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
Now here, Hey, Mark, I doing buddy. So we're in
agreement that Miami probably has the least amount of assets
of all the suitors to ascend back to Portland, and
Brooklyn might have the nose the most. So my question
to you is, as time goes on, how much do

(19:04):
you think Damian Lillard will be more willing to go
to a team that maybe wasn't his first choice, Because
it's my understanding whatever team signs him is going to
sit him down and say, are you happy with this deal?
Can you imagine if Brooklyn makes the best offer, what's
going to.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
Well, you know what, I think that Philadelphia would make
the best offer because they have another point guard that
wants to get traded in James Harden. Now, look, I'm
a much bigger fan of Damian Loward than James Harden
because of the way he plays the game the way
he's much more available. But maybe if they get a
third team involved, maybe you know, James Harden is viewed

(19:42):
as an asset for Portland because hey, at least he's
a point guard, right, And I think from Philadelphia's end,
they would look at Damian Loward and Joel Embiid as
one dynamic one two punch. But because that that trade
wonn't be equal by any stretch, I think that there
would have to be a third team involved as far

(20:03):
as you know, which team would be willing to send
draft picks or you know, good role players to either
buy ball club or both to make it work. So
that that's what I'm really put my eyes on is
maybe we essentially just see two point guards swap off
as thee coaster.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Is that a good move to sign a thirty three
year olds for the next four years who do like
two hundred and twenty million dollars no mask? Some people
think it is Steph Curry's thirty five, He's still lighting
it up. It is that good financial a move there?

Speaker 7 (20:34):
Well, look, it's a fair question because he's especially been
coming off injuries the last two seasons. But I think
in today's NBA, whether you're a player or the front office.
Let's be real here, contracts don't mean anything anymore, so
when you're when you're talking about, oh, you're going to
inherit four years of his contract, like they can trade

(20:55):
that at some point, And even if you know he
is more even more tail end of his career, there
is a value for teams to have expiring contracts. But
no doubt, it's a fair question to ask. And I
think that the bigger questions that you raise about where
he's at in his career historability, those are the bigger

(21:15):
things that might give some teams pause as opposed to contracts,
just because you know, well, at this day and age,
neither party, front office or player really honors it.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
So Mark, I want to switch gears now that I've
had a chance to evaluate some of the moves. I
look at the Denver Nuggets. Obviously, Golden State believes they
got better, Phoenix believes they got better, the Lakers believe
they got better, and I think the Clippers you're trying
to get better. But the Denver Nuggets lose Bruce Brown,
who came off the bench and scored more points than

(21:48):
any other bench player in the entire playoffs and they
lose Jeff Hyland, who logged a lot of minutes. How
much is that going to hurt in Denver? And could
that be enough to close the gap between one of
the other teams I mentioned in Denver?

Speaker 7 (22:01):
It remains me seeing. I mean, look, they also lost
Thomas Bryant, the Miami Heat, Jeff Green going to Houston.
I mean, all these guys are really good role players.
But at the end of the day, when we're looking
at things to rank that the tournament of championship run
starts with you have one or two stars and if
they're healthy, if they have good coaching. And they still

(22:23):
have that with Nikola Joka, Shamal Murray, Michael Malon the
head coach. But no doubt one of the reasons why
the Nuggets got so far was their depth and continuity.
So I would still pin them as the favorites to
win the NBA title again, but they have lost some
of their championship armor while other teams have gotten better,
like the Lakers. I would rank them number two in

(22:44):
the West right now. I'd rank the Warriors number three,
maybe Memphis number four, knowing well, you're losing John Morant
for twenty five games. But you know they extended Desmond Dayane.
They got some adults in the room now with Derrick
Rose and Mark is Smart. I take that back. I
would probably put Memphis lower in the standards because I

(23:04):
think the Phoenix Suns they've done a pretty good job
with finally getting some good depth around their star players.
So thinking about it, it would be Denver one, Lakers two,
Sons three, and Warriors four, and so as I'm thinking
out loud here no doubt. If I to make a prediction,
I do think the Nuggets will repeat, but it's going

(23:25):
to be a lot harder and there's I think gonna
be a lot more candidates in the Western Conference that
actually have a legitimate shop at winning the title next
season as opposed to this past few months.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
You mentioned the Lakers. Why did they get Austin Reeves
so cheap? I thought they people are.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Saying you can get one hundred million dollars years if
you go somewhere else. And next thing, I know, he
signed for what fifty five fifty six million millions? I'm thinking,
I don't was he promised space jam or something?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I don't know what Yah, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (23:52):
He's going to be in space jam three next. Here's
what happened. I think that this is kind of a
chess move here. I think the Lakers, you know, by
getting the word out to different media folks look including myself,
that they intended to match his offer. I think that
scared teams away in wanting to give Austin Reeves an offer,

(24:13):
because with the rules of the salary cap, the Lakers
could match any offers, so they would keep them anyway.
But when another team presents that offer, all that cap
space is tied up in the meantime, so they can't
make any moves with that number. And so I think
that team's instinctly thought, well, I'm not going to allow
this to hold up, you know, up to three days

(24:35):
of me making other moves. And so what happened here
in the timeline is the Lakers initially offered Austin Reeves
four years fifty two million, first night of free agency.
He did what any you know, smart businessman should do
and say, hey, let me think about it. And through
the next day he didn't get any offers, and so
I think with that he then went back and said, hey,

(24:58):
you know, rolling to chat, and they up Deante a
little bit for an extra four million, So he was
willing to give teams a chance to give him an offer.
But I really think because of the Lakers public messaging,
the teams thought, you know what, this isn't worth the hassle. Uh.
Even if Austin Reeves is a great player, essentially he
is a role player. And you know, obviously all teams
have to still make other moves in free agency.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Mark last one for me, the Bucks top party. They
managed to bring brook Lopez back. It's that little little
steam off the kettle for Giannis and his thoughts he
might vacate someday.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
Yeah, I think that the Giannis isn't going anywhere. The
Bucks aren't going anywhere either. I mean, they're going to
be back at number one. I would tend them the
favorites to get these the NBA Finals to the East,
because look, that retained Chris Middleton, that retained Brook Lopez.
Those are really significant pillars here for their foundation. And
you know, it looks like that they're going to start,

(25:54):
you know, fleshing out the roster pretty well with some
other you know, good moves you know they've got. But
we Beasley on a one year deal, and so I
feel like, you know, they can round up out the
depth with using Vettermentimum's contracts because those players know, you
know what, they have a legitimate shot at winning an
NBA championships. So yeah, they're are all all problems that

(26:15):
the Bucks face with losing the heat as a number
one seed. I think are you know long in past
and they're going to come out next season as a
force to be recordless.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
My last thing mark when Bayama the number came out,
seventeen and a half was the over under for points
per game already jumped up to eighteen and a half.
What do you think about that over on their eighteen
and a half?

Speaker 7 (26:36):
Yeah, thanks, fair number. I would expect him to average
a double double this season. You know, people I talked
around the league say he's going to carry his skills
immediately of being a good shooter, being a good post player,
being a good rim protector. He's not going to play
all eighty two games just because the Spurs and this
day and age want to load manage and also give

(26:58):
him some legal room to adapt to the physical So
I think he's going to check all the boxes as
far as what he brings his instant impact. But knowing
how the Spurs are with a young team, I think
it's too early to say they're a playoff team. But
Vickerwa Mediama's going to live up to the hype. He's
going to post his numbers consistently. He's going to be
loved by his teammates and his coaches because he's all

(27:19):
about the work ethic, and he's going to win Rookie
of the Year. And then you know, next season, I
think we can start talking playoffs and beyond.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Mark, you got us on speed dial. Let us know
when something comes down with Damian Lillard.

Speaker 7 (27:31):
Would we'll do I'll puck up the phone immediately.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
You gotta take care. Always a pleasure of Mark. We
did a great stuff. They always love talking to. Mark
certainly knows his stuff, no doubt about that. We're live
at tyreck dot com Studios. Does Skip Avenue partner or two.
We'll tell you about that first though. Let's check out
with the saga. See what's tread that, what's going on
to Sega.

Speaker 8 (27:51):
Let's start with the NBA news is the Minnesota Timberwolves
today gave Anthony Edwards a five year MAX extension. He
was drafted number one overall in twenty twenty. Just averaged
twenty five points a game last year. Center Mason Plumley
re signed with the Clippers a one year deal. He
averaged after joining them last season seven points seven rebounds
a game. Milwaukee gave Malik Beasley a one year contract.

(28:13):
He just averaged eleven points per game for the Lakers
last season after being acquired by LA from Utah. The
Bucks also signed Robin Lopez after resigning Brook Lopez. The
twins are thirty five years old and back together same team.
The Bulls signed Tory Craig from the Suns one year
plus a player option. The NBA's Las Vegas Summer League
starts Friday, but there are games in Sacramento and Salt

(28:36):
Lake City this week. Currently, the Sacramento Kings on the
home court are leading Golden State by five with six
minutes to go. Keegan Murray with twenty one points at Wimbledon,
first day of play of the Fortnite the two weeks,
Sophia Kennon of the US eliminated number seven seed Coco
Goff in the first round. Venus Williams lost her first
round match in straight sets. Three late night ballgames in

(28:59):
the Majors at Dodger Stadium, LA now up three to
one on the Pirates in the bottom of the fifth
against All Star pitcher Mitch Keller, who's nine and three
Dodgers All Star Clayton Kershaw and not only did not
start tonight, he was placed on the injured list with
a sore shoulders, so he will miss next week's All
Star Game at San Francisco. The Giants and Mariners are
tied two to two in the bottom of the seventh

(29:19):
and on half s one from San Diego going to
the bottom of the six. Padres lead the Angels four
to two. Despite Mike Trout with a couple of hits
shohe Otani with a couple of walks, Halo's are trailing
on the road. Atlanta won its ninth straight game, four
to two at Cleveland. Ronald Acunya with his fortieth stolen
base of the season already the win to Bryce Elder

(29:40):
of the Braves, who's seven to one. Minnesota now is
a game ahead of the Cleveland Guardians in the al
Central Minnesota. In eight to four winner against Kansas City
thanks to five runs in the bottom of the eighth,
Yankees came back and beat Baltimore six to three. Adlie
Rushman of the O's, who did have three hits, will
be in next week's home run derby Miami. With a win,
Hawaukee and Cincinnati each one, they're still tied for first

(30:02):
in the NL Central and Houston, with two runs in
the top of the ninth, got a twelve eleven victory
at Texas. Houston had blown in early ten to two.
League Kyle Tucker a grand Slam. He went four for four.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Back to you all right, thanks a lot, Steve.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
By the way, at the end of your first year,
Discover credit cards automatically double all the catchback you've earned.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
That's right, everything you've earned doubled.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Seriously see terms and check it out for yourself at
discover dot com. Slash Match, he's Bernie Fradlelebartey Spanier win
for the guy's side.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
I saw this, and I'm very intrigued because we know
shadd and Sharp has now left undisputed and Skip has
been on vacation the last couple of weeks. We've been
waiting to see what's going to happen with Skip and
who's going to be able to take over on the show. Well,
we may have a little bit of a hit because
Skip put out on Twitter that Little Wayne, do I say,
Lil Wayne or a Lil Wayne lit?

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Lil Wayne's my bad. I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Lil Wayne and Young Money will be more involved in
Undisputed than ever. Look, I I'm fine with Little Wayne
and Young Money and all. That the only thing I
want because I like Undisputed. I just want Skiff to
remain being skipped. I don't care if it's a little Wayne,
Young Money, an ex NFL guy, me a third grade student.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
It makes no difference to me. As long as.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Skiff remains Skiff and remains argumentative and has fun and
you know, reaches out there, I'm okay with it.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
So I'm looking for it to for it to get
back on the air.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Well, I know that Skip put out the thing on Instagram.
He was at Lil Wayne's house and they hung out.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
He goes there a lot news.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
They've been friends for fifteen years, since that long Wowki
was in ESPN. There's genuine respect. Wow. Well, first of all,
it turns out that that Skip's wife, what's your name, Ernstine?

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Ernestine? Yeah, Ernestine, right, exactly.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Apparently she's a huge Lil Wayne fan.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Okay, and Skip's a huge Lil Wayne fan. All right.
So you know, Skip's very polarizing, but he's been very successful.
Skip understands on a very high level that when you
have a platform and you're on stage in front of
a large audience, you have to bring a certain energy,
you have to bring a certain dynamic, you have to
bring a certain aura. What he sees in Will Wayne,

(32:30):
this is the attraction. Because Skips admitted this. So Skip
saw Prince in concert, he saw Michael Jackson in concert. Wow,
transcendent performers. Well, he thinks Lil Wayne brings even better
energy than both of those guys. Wow. So they became friends.
And here's what I've heard that when they get together,
they go out and sit in the backyard and chill

(32:50):
and talk for three or four hours. They don't talk sports,
they talk business philosophy, they talk performing philosophy. They talk
you know, how you channel your inner strength to get
up and do this every day?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah, is Lil Wayne gonna be able to get up
to I mean, what is it nine o'clock?

Speaker 5 (33:08):
Come on, He's not gonna be the co host man
come on, what are we doing here?

Speaker 3 (33:12):
He's been on the show many a time before.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Okay, that's fine, and maybe he can continue to do that.
And they're saying is going to be more involved. You know,
Lil Wayne's very successful. He may be in a consulting
role in a pier every time. But Arnie, I think
you got a better chance of Gilligans Allen's theme song
being recorded by led Zeppelin and selling a billion copies
then Lil Wayne being the everyday post.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
And I could see him doing sunny shows.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
Yeah, that's no slide on Lil Wayne because again, certain people,
they're gonna listen selectively think we you know, we don't
have any street cred, so long and short of is
this that? How do you even know Will Wayne wants
to be the daily host getting up at three in
the morning doing that grind? That's a grind. Will he
be more involved? Well, they already said he was, so

(33:57):
take skip at his word. Is there a genuine kindreds
you're at friendship between those two? Is there genuine mutual respect? Yes?
But this Instagram thing, this isn't something new. They've been
friends for a long time, fifteen years, and so I
think it's being blown out of proportion. Now Part B
of this conversation, right, who is going to be Skip's
new partner? I think he's got one year left on
his contract. I think we'll know in sixty days. You

(34:19):
just gotta wait and see.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Is it just gonna be like a former NFL player?

Speaker 5 (34:22):
Then?

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Is that what we're looking at?

Speaker 5 (34:24):
I guess entirely possible. Entirely possible, you know, And so
I'd be speculating. You know, the world is a vexing
enough place without me giving hypotheticals.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
And so I'd love to see Tom Brady battle Skip
a little bit. I think that would be fun about that.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
That might get that might get tired after about three sets.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
They should I think they should rotate it though that
you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (34:44):
Like you said, what they do, I think they may
do that for a while until they finally got there's chemistry.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
That's right. I have no problem with them rotating. I'd
love to hear different people's point of view.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
You know, you know right away if there's chemistry, and
then after that you try to see if they can
evolve and grow. And you know, everybody thinks he can
be in his business, right, Yeah, a microphone and talk
for five minutes and don't stop. And I mean, look
at him here and tell me what that looks like.
And then Okay, he did a show today, Do another
one tomorrow, do another one Wednesday. Let's see what you
look like three months from now. It's an entirely different

(35:14):
grind than people truly understand. So you've got to take
all those scenes in consideration, and again against the backdrop
of not implying in any way that the relationship between
Skip and Lil Wayne is real and there is some
you know, connection there with respect to perhaps creative input
on the show. I don't know. I'm guessing, But do
I think he's gonna be Do I think Lil Wayne's

(35:34):
gonna be Skipps every day partner?

Speaker 3 (35:35):
No?

Speaker 7 (35:35):
I do not.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to see what happens when they
come back to what happens to the show. He's Bertie Fratto,
I'm Marty Spaniard. When we get back more Nathan hot
Dog Baby and why you never put ketch up on
a hot dog?

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Bertie, you'll explain that.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Oh all that started?

Speaker 4 (35:51):
All that's like coming up next right here on Fox
Sports our Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:55):

Speaker 4 (36:07):
All Right, good evening, everybody, of course, Bernie Fratto, Arnie
Span you're sitting for the guys. Jason Smith at his
best friend Mike Harmon. Never put ketchup on a hot dog, Bernie.
I'm a spicy mustard sour kraut guy. I know sour
kraut's like old school, but there's nothing better than a
spicy mustard sour kraut, two dogs and a you who

(36:28):
to wash it down?

Speaker 3 (36:29):
But why.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
You?

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Who is the fast?

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Well, it's more like chemical, but I don't know what
it is, but I love it. I could eat a
whole case of you who are drink a whole case
of that?

Speaker 3 (36:42):
But why should you? Never put ketchup out a hot dog?

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Pete Rose used to do endorsements for you who back?

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Really? I love that stuff?

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Yeah? Oh yeah, look dude, catch him on a hot dog. Okay,
First of all, ketchum with sugar. You don't put sugar
on a hot dog. You're smothering the flavor of the
hot dog. You put ketchup on a hot dog. You're
not enhancing it, you're camouflaging it. You're killing me. You're
killing me. That's like putting ice cubes and wine. You're
eating pizza with a spoon. You know, in Chicago asked

(37:11):
Mike North, you know White North, he had a hot
dog stand. It's a violation. It was city ordinance if
you asked for ketchup on a hot dog in Chicago.
North used to say, if you asked for ketchup out
a hot dog, you'd hanim a dog and say go
stand over there and put it on yourself. Even if
President Obama once said it's unforgivable to put ketchup on

(37:32):
a hot dog after the age of six, mustard, fine onions, railish, sourkrat, whatever,
Just no ketchup because you're killing the whole vibe of
a hot dog. Sorry, I'll go to my grave with that.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
You know, I would think the Nathan's hot dog getting caught.
This would be better if they could put condiments on it.
You know, somebody was there to dress it up before
they handed it to you, and you had a little mud.
I gotta assume that anybody ever put like mustard ketchup
and dipping it out before they ate it, or it's
too tough to do that, you know.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
Oh, I'm sure there's some creative types out there. But
you know what I think would enhance that contest. You
have to be a bag of chips for every hot
dog gat Yeah. Now now we're cooking right, But yeah,
i'd like to see that, you know, it's funny speaking
of that. Joey Chestnut is not a man to be
reckoned with. He doesn't just hold the world record for
seventy six hot dogs and buns in ten minutes. Arnie,

(38:22):
you like taco bell tacos?

Speaker 7 (38:24):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (38:24):
I love taco bell, Well, Joey Chestnut holds the record
for that too. He eat fifty three of them in
ten minutes.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Wait a minute, Wait a bit, wait fifty three Taco bell.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
Tacos, tacoboll, beef tacos and ten minutes.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Ten minutes?

Speaker 5 (38:37):
So record?

Speaker 3 (38:38):
What do you eat?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Like?

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Five a minute?

Speaker 5 (38:41):
But at six hundred and seconds? So that's what?

Speaker 2 (38:42):
What?

Speaker 5 (38:42):
Every ten seconds?

Speaker 4 (38:43):
I don't I don't think I could eat that much.
I maybe it would take me a lot longer, but
I don't think I could do that.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
No, No, what's you like twinkies.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
I love twinkies.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Well, get one hundred and twenty one twinkies in six minutes.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
No, it takes me longer to eat one hundred and
twenty one. He's twelve minutes. No, that's a lot of tweakies.
Does he dip it in water?

Speaker 5 (39:06):
Or you're just getting started? You like big You like
Big Max? I do thirty two Big Max in thirty
eight minutes?

Speaker 3 (39:13):
World raw that that way? Bit? Wait wait, thirty two
Big Max minutes. That's doable, Bertie, I think I could
pull that off. That's doable. I think I could do that.

Speaker 5 (39:25):
That might be well, that's that's a hell of a
strain on your arms. By the way, anyway, how about
those little Hostess donuts and like six to a package
or whatever? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, two hundred and fifty
seven Hostess donuts in six minutes.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
That's insane. Now, that's that's the.

Speaker 5 (39:41):
You like hard boiled eggs? One hundred You want hard
boiled eggs in eight minutes?

Speaker 3 (39:45):
No, I couldn't do that.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
That even beats Paul Newman in the Great movie of
one of the greatest movies of all time. Look, I
don't care if it's grial cheese sandwiches, pastramis, pastrami sandwiches.
You know, one hundred and sixty five parogis in eight minutes.
These are all records, all world records. Now, he didn't, he.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Doesn't say that's that's Joey Chestnut that owns the world record.

Speaker 5 (40:07):
It's just Joey Chestnut. Now, by the way, down south,
they have crystal burgers. Are They're just like white castles?

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Christ slider.

Speaker 5 (40:16):
Yeah, they are sliders. Yeah, okay, one hundred and three
crystal burgers in eight minutes. But this is the one
I can't get my mind around. Okay, for both for
two reasons. He ate four hundred and thirteen chicken wings,
but it took him twelve hours. Wait at wait, have
you ever done anything for? They're all world records. Have

(40:37):
you ever had anything four.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Hundred and twelve chicken wings for twelve hours?

Speaker 5 (40:41):
That took four hundred and thirteen chicken wings for.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
I may be able to pull that off, Bernie. Yeah,
that's not that tough.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
Four thirteen Yeah, I think I have you ever done
anything straight for twelve hours? S and sleep right? Exactly?
This is insanity. Now we talked off air. I think
if there was a contest peanut and I get somebody
their goal, I can go I can.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Go nuts on pean and me m's oh really that's
that's your go to things I go to. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
I don't know, man, I think I could maybe do
the chicken wings.

Speaker 4 (41:11):
I think I give you twelve hours. I'm more of
a marathon eater than a sprint eater.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
I'm sorry. I think that'd be right up my alley.
But of course the what time is the Nathan, that's
that noon tomorrow or what.

Speaker 5 (41:22):
Yeah, yeah it is, and they'll be of course the
pre game and all this stuff. And they've been showing that. Yeah,
it's quite a thing. Like I said, it's just the
highest order.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Yeah, all right, two hours are in the books. Unbelievable.
Oh we got two to go. We got the power hour,
we got the bonus hour.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
We'll come back, we'll reset that, Damian Loward, we'll talk
about some of the other moves out there. I want
to throw in some stuff as we get to some
NFL too, so I want to talk a little bit
about the Jets and hard knocks, all that stuff is
coming up. If you want to get in at Bernie fratto.
I'm a stinking genius one, so we'll go ahead and
take your tweet. This hour also here on Fox Sports
