You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Oh, very appropro open for this hour of the show.
Greetings and welcome inside hour two of The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon, live from the
ti rag dot Com studios tyrac dot com. I'll help
you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers tirac

(00:49):
dot com The way tire buying should be Well. First,
I got to ask you, are you okay? Your White
Sox just fell to my Mets tonight eleven ten. I mean, look,
use when you get two teams who were combined eighty
five games under five hundred, you throw the record books
out the window. Are you okay? Absorbing another big defeat tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Some men just want to watch the world burn We
learned that on the big screen as Dark Knight premiered
fifteen years ago. That was the whole world of Heath
Ledger and the Joker. That's kind of where I'm at
in the final two weeks of this. Just burn it down,
Just burn it down, burn it down, burn it all down.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Whatever guys want to.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Julido could become a Dodger, Eloja Menez. Get him off
the get him back on a field so you can trade.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Him, bring Larusa back. Sure, you know what, But I mean,
I think this year has shown once and for all
that everybody that wanted to bash Tony Larusa, you can
all go to hell. You didn't know what you were
talking about, because clearly it ain't him. Because clearly, when
other guy's falling asleep in the dugout, it's not working.
Last year, the last couple of years, at least ay,
when he fell asleep in the dug out it worked
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
The point is that the players are the same. Look
at what they're doing, look looking the results, sleeping thought,
I don't care. Same guys. Hey, you know what day
is it? Oh he's gonna get hurt.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
So okay, he's got a pull of hamstring are I
mean you could be tanking for Caleb Williams. So it's okay, Well,
does he play baseball? You can throw? Why not just
put him out there and see what he can do? Well,
if we can teach Hi about a pitch? Yeah, I mean,
do you really have to teach him? And it's the
White Sox. You just put him out there and say,
just throw to that guy with the glove. You're the Mets.
What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Two guys that are yes, Yeah, we did that, so
don't tell me about don't laugh, Frostburg.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
You're getting sures are in two weeks.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Don't laugh.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
You're getting them and you know you're getting four backs
and you know you're getting four Yeah, we could just
cut him. That's fine, that's fine, We'll just we'll just
cut him that. We're good, and you're on the hook
for all that money with shirts.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Figure out that's gonna that's going to be part of
the deal and you're gonna have to eat it.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Look, DoD Dodgers ain't taking the Mets. The Mets will
eat I would say half the money at least for
Verlander and Schurser and they'll be able to trade both
of them because they're both pitching better. Verlander's hitting ninety
eight ninety nine in the gun again, Suresers pitching well,
pitched a great game the other night. You know they lost,
pitch a great game the other night. Now the Mets
will be able to trade both of these guys and

(03:14):
get another bite at it next year and say, okay,
we're not paying They'll pay half the salaries, which is
the genius of Steve Cohen. They'll pay half the salaries
or half the money they'll have, and they'll get a
couple of decent prospects. All right, this is what we're
in win for Sureser for this year and next. All right,
that's fine. We're not spending as much money, that's fine.
And as long as Verlander keeps throwing ninety eight ninety
nine on the gun, yeah, we're gonna trade both of them.

(03:36):
And you're gonna get him, Frostburg and Fendley, Your padres
are gonna you're gonna eat get your year. You're gonna
get them, and you're gonna get all of them. Knuckle sandwich.
Knuckle sandwich. Good, We're talking pig knuckle sandwich. That can
work in pig knuckle sandwich.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
But yeah, I mean they're gonna trade off, they're gonna divest. Uh,
maybe someone in the organization has some glimmer of hope
when you're beating the hapless defeated White Sox.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, that's the danger of these kind of series coming
out of the breaks, like, yeah, we're.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Excited looking at it.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
We won, we won three out of four, we won
four out of five.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Who'ld you beat? Doesn't matter. Hey, so I was on
the schedule. I can't change the wrong victories. I can't
do that makes no difference. Does it really change your evaluation?
Hey man, they're wins and we take them. But the
next couple of weeks highly interesting. A lot of big
games have been bandied about is potentially on the move,
including your pictures from the Mets and.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Right Otani watch rules it All and all of the
photo shopped Jersey everything else.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Otani and everybody from the Mets and Padres. That's a
lot of money, that's a lot of big names. They
are gonna be.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
No, And I think the fun part of it in
the end is when they just say, hey, look we
unveiled a new uniform.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
That's we're gonna use for the final two months.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
So everybody that wants an Otani jersey here in you
gotta come to the Games to get it.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
That's the only place get your competative show. Hey, Otanni Jersey,
give me When's hug while you're here, We're live from
the ti rack dot Com studios. TJ. The Angels will
be leaving no doubt that they will trade Otani coming
up in the next couple of weeks. Uh, TJ. Cly
Otani not just a hitter, He's not just a pitcher. Okay,

(05:23):
we're live from the tirack dot com studios, where a
tirec dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road has a protection over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tyrack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So we talked a few minutes ago about how the
Joelle Embiid interview he gave on Thursday about I could
win in Philadelphia or someplace else didn't get around the

(05:45):
first time. So now, hey, let's make sure people understand
he said that because he wants out from Philadelphia, and
yesterday it happened. It was eight days ago. Talk about
not quite tomorrow's take tonight. But how about today's takes
last week? And it actually was even before that, but
but it was eight days ago where we talked on
the show about Bill Belichick and we said again for

(06:06):
probably the second or third time this offseason, he is
coaching for his life with the Patriots this season. Yeah,
I saw that. Attributed to it. Some shown what we
get that forever a he is coaching for his life.
We laid out the reasons why I told you he's
coaching for his life. What do we get in the
last twenty four hours, Bill Belichick is on the hot seat? Uh?

(06:27):
You had Tom current insider with the Patriots, Benvilln also insider, saying, hey,
there's a lot of stuff going on and Bill Belichick
is coaching. He's on the hot seat. Wait is he really?
Oh my god, Hey, we told you this a week
and we've been telling you this. Well, you have the.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Report of the family and everybody getting all nervous.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yes, this is it for Belichick. He is absolutely one
coaching for his job. There are so many things that
have happened already that you can tell the momentum is there. Look,
I'll outline it for you again like we outline it
for you over the course of the last couple of months. Look,
you I have the Belichick, Bob Craft. Hey, we're not
spending as much as other teams. Bob Craft is very upset.

(07:05):
You already know Bob Craft is upset that they haven't
made the playoffs. Hey, we want to win. We want
to win. So you know he's been antsy for the
last couple of years. The mac Jones and the Hamptons pick.
You have Tom Brady and mccordy and mac Jones is
going to a party in the Hamptons. No, Bill Belichick
know nothing. There's Robert Craft, yes, exactly, hanging out. Look
all of this, what's been going on, the lack of

(07:27):
any kind of urgency to build a roster, which Belichick
has not done, the lack of any urgency to develop
Mac Jones, the ridiculous decision to say I don't need
an offensive coordinator. I'm gonna have my defensive coordinator be
the offensive coordinator. He has made horrible decisions the last
couple of years. And now I'll take you one step further.
Since we already told you he was coaching for a

(07:48):
job that show. Just give you something else. The biggest
blank show in the NFL this year is going to
be the Patriots. Now, they will be the biggest blank show.
You know why because there's built in interest in what happens.
You already know the owner and the head coach or
at odds, and you already know that the quarterback is
not a big fan of the head coach. And where
Brady had to fight that battle with him with the

(08:11):
two of them, and he was able to win. Can
mac Jones win it? No, but I think he thinks
he can win it. Hey, I'm the chosen one. I'm
the guy that got it after Tom Brady. Nobody is
on the same page. Belichick has run this team into
oblivion the last couple of years, and now you have
every team in the AFC East is better on paper
than they are. The Bills may take a bit of
a step back, but the Bills are still better than

(08:32):
the Patriots. The Jets have taken a huge step forward,
the Dolphins have taken a huge step forward. What have
the Patriots done that's gonna make you say they've kept
up with those teams? Nothing? Well, hold on to be
an absolute blank show with the Patriots, and it's gonna
be circling. Is Belichick gonna make it the whole season?
Is he going to retire in the middle. Is he
gonna quit? Is he gonna quit so you can get
another job next year and coach someplace else. That's the

(08:53):
kind of blank show. It's gonna be in New England
all season one, and Jared Mayo stuck around, so you've
got that swirling in the background as well. Defense is
still going to be pretty good.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
And this allows me to shoehorn something that happened over
the weekend, a deal that got done, and I heard
and I saw in my timeline a bunch of dope
he takes about it related to well, they couldn't even
get DeAndre Hopkins there. He went to Tennessee. Why would
he go to Tennessee and not New England.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Because Bill O'Brien is on the staff and Trader. Bill's
the guy that said Blake you and sent him to Arizona.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Do you think do we remember this people?

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Do you think when he went for the visit, they
said Bill, Hey, Bill, just just let you know Deandre's
coming today. Don't come out of your office. Make sure
nobody sees tis away. DeAndre. Wait a minute, I think
I saw the name plate is Bill O'Brien. No no, no, no, no, no.
He was at the coffee machine. I saw that wasn't him,
but just a guy that looks like him. Forget that

(09:50):
whole debacle in Houston, and said to him, I'm on Google.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
It says that Bill O'Brien's on staff.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
No no, no, he's not. But like, well they figured
out the fake account, but but trying to use that
like all these other things I could get on board
with saying there's some issues and receiving wise. You bring
in Devonte Parker who was flashed in spots, he's never
become that full guy. You have Juju Smith Schustra, who
he's been a Brett Saberhagen great reference here, right, even

(10:19):
odd like, let's just go through so is he the
good Juju Smith Schuster this year after what he did
in case he or does he revert to some of
the lower efforts. You brought in Gasiki from Miami, so
who underachieved that. Let's bring another under achievement. But it's
all they've done well that that was a function of
the way they ran their offense and decided not to

(10:40):
use Let's keep bringing in paying the money and after
having them absolutely disappointed us Letter. Henry's been a good
red zone guy. He's been pretty good. Like John hus
Smith was an abject failure. But you bring in Gaseki.
You've got a pretty good running back in Steven So
you brought in Time Montgomery, who's a nice kind of
gadget guy. Uh as a a runner slash receiver. You've

(11:03):
got some opportunity, and Pierre Strong looks pretty good at spots.
Offensive line is pretty good, Your defense is gonna be good. Look,
they're not Arizona or Las Vegas. They're more interesting because
of the history and these built in storylines. But I
don't think they're the blank show that you think they
will be because you're also crowning the Jets. Absolutely, they're
still the They're still the Jets. Well they're not gonna I'm

(11:25):
not saying the Patriots are gonna go oh to sixteen,
although they're gonna start out really horribly because it's Philadelphia, Miami,
the Jets Dallas, New Orleans, Vegas and Buffalo and Miami.
That it's New Orleans. They'll lose to Philadelphia, they lose
to Miami, they'll lose at the Jets. They'll in Miami
or in Foxboro. It's it's it's that's in Foxborough. Okay,

(11:46):
they can win that game, but they're gonna starting four
my Philadelphia, Miami Jets, Dallas. They'll be the Jets and
they'll beat Dallas. Happening. No, No, they're at that game's
at Dallas. That are not gonna win at Dallas. They're
gonna lose all those by that point the season, Dak
Press that's halfway to his ten intersections. And then they
have to play Buffalo and Miami again before we get
to the halfway part of the season. So they're going

(12:06):
to be this. Then the second half opens up, let's go,
it's going to be disappointing. They'll be under five hundred,
they'll be in last place in the AFC East, and
it's going to be every day of Is this it
for Bill Belichick in New England? Look at what he said.
He has no problem throwing shade during prescoffee if he's
throwing shade in the summer when everything should be fine. Yeah,
we don't spend like we did.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
You went on the biggest spending spree ever and you
spend it on bad people. You have not run this
team well at all. Anybody else would have been fired.
But because you're a genius and you won all these
super bowls with Tom Brady. Hey, Bill Kraft has said,
do what you need to do. And now wait a minute,
now we got to take the car keys from you
because dude, you can't do this anymore. Man. You cannot

(12:48):
tell me one thing he's done that makes you say, yes,
Belichick's got it. Belichick still has it. Tell me there's
not one. There's not one big move that he has said.
Hey Belichick, he's look what he's done. He'd be moved
on from Brady do it. No, he hasn't. He's done nothing.
And you see it's already contentious again. It's going to
be the biggest blank show all season long in New England.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
As part of this, just because you hate the Patriots
in their long standing success as a Jets fan, is
that what's fueling some of this.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
That has nothing to do with this, That is irrelevant,
that is that is stricken from the record, that is
not that is not a question that needed to be asked,
not a lot in this courtroom. No contempt, no sir, Yes,
I fine. Two thousand held you in contempt for nine years.
It's been about a decade. Twitter it out about a Fresco.

the NFL. We talked about Bill Belichick a few minutes ago.
We have upset running backs. We have the Jets who
may not be good partners with hard knocks. We don't
want to show a lot of stuff that you want
to show. But wait, it's a TV show. We don't care.
You're gonna force us to do it. We're gonna tell

No one better. It's got new music.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Apparently he is a long time NFL insider. You can
check him out on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.
He is also a Hall of Very Good voter and
also apparently he's moving on up to something. We have
to find out what it is. Maybe he'll be starring
in the sequel to The Jeffersons. We'll find out right now.

(15:33):
Jake Cole, new music, what's up?

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Oh this is this is so beautiful? This is my childhood.
Norman Lear at his best, just fantastic stuff. But it's
the fact that I'm appearing before a Thursday or Friday night,
so I feel like I'm moving on up.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Oh okay, very good, very good. Yeah, yeah, there's there's
a there when quick start of this, there's a band
that one of one of my wife and i's favorite
local bands. We saw this is backly going back like
twenty years. We would go see them all the time,
and the last song they would do in their concert,
they would close their set with the team to the Jeffersons.

(16:14):
And I can tell you how many times you're just
we're just hammered, and they're going, hey, you guys want
to hear one more song, yelling the Jeffersons, We're just screaming,
And in one time, because we've gone to see a
bunch of the lead singers, he looks out at us
and goes, okay, Jefferson's up there, one, two, three, as
long as we live with me, babe. It was awesome.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Ain't nothing more we got and we're moving on. That's
so greats No people going free bird down. We need
we need to dance like Sherman Hemsley because I'll say this,
Sherman Hemsley could cut some rug man that brand could
really could really really dance. He really could. That's a thing.

(16:59):
I mean, look, I know it doesn't probably that show
does not translate to the modern day, but it's in
its time like people were really bested up. Going wait
a second, there are black people as the lead actors.
What are we doing here? What could it possibly be happening?
And they're not They're not poor and indigent. What's going on?

(17:20):
It blew people's minds breaking. It's absolutely everything about it.
People don't get it now, but god, that was That
was amazing television at the time.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Well glad you moved up, because what will be better
television reruns of The Jeffersons or Hard Knocks this year
because the Jets say, we don't want to show a
lot layers.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Getting cut, uh, I mean the essential part of Hard Knocks.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
It's going to be soft knocks, somewhat hard, medium range knocks.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Sherman knocks. Here we go, that's what we'll call it. Man.
I I'm sure they want to stay so clear of
anything with Aaron Rodds. I gonna forget the cuts, but
like we want less Aaron Rodgers and hard Knocks is like, no, no, no,
this is all Aaron Rodgers, especially after seeing the success
of this Quarterback Show, which Peyton Manning is now like,

(18:14):
this is my favorite quote of the day where Peyton
Manning talks about how how you know their Netflix is
bringing back the Quarterback Show, right, and he goes, I
don't want to hear about this, you know, being a
distraction for quarterbacks. It's like, Peyton, in your career, you
never would have done this ever because you would have
called it a distraction. There's no way. And now you're
like leaning on people because you've got a little bit

(18:36):
of leverage on him. Come on, like stop it, but
it will go on, and yes, Hard Knocks is going
to be all Aaron Rodgers and all Zach Wilson and
a few other entertaining moments along the way.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Well you got I mean, Zach Wilson's mom still part
of the larger equations. She evidently a pause of his
current girlfriend. I mean, you could get a whole episode
by just doing his entire speech.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Our current girlfriend is current girlfriend, which she's known for
thirty years. I mean, is that what's happened?

Speaker 1 (19:07):
No, no, no, it's different. That was last year. Come on,
that was last year. That's last year's headline.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Come on, I mean, if nothing else, you could just
play back all of Rogers' comments and q and a
and speech at the Ayahuasca Psychedelics Conference.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
I mean, get a whole episode out of that. Yeah,
it's just gonna be. It's gonna be. It's gonna be
Aaron Rodgers saying, Hey, we really don't want this at all,
none of us want this. Just just take the camera
around the corner. I'll be there in like thirty seconds.
Whatever you got, whatever you want to ask, right around
the corner, whatever you get.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Quote? What quote do you need from me today?

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Guys just starts yelling line, I have lots of things
I want to say that are all really hot takes.
What do you want from me today? What do you
what do you want me to give you today?

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Zach? Did you open your playbook today? What happened? What
do I want to do it? Practice tomorrow? I'll let
you know.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
You know, And that's the thing, I only promise to
be here for half of them, so I'm taking a day.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
That's if they look. I don't think any of the
players care about hard knocks. The guy that cares the
most is Robert Salah, because he's the guy. I guarantee
he's walking around right now going They're gonna cut it
to make it look like Aaron's the head coach, and
I'm just saying yes, and I'm really the head coach.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Of the defense.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
What they're gonna do to me?

Speaker 4 (20:28):
That doesn't require editor That's just what it is.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
They will fund him, then, they will fund him. Robert
sala defensive head coach.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Yeah, Robert, go stand over there until the defense shows up.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Okay, head coach of the defense. Aaron Rodgers really the
head coach.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
And there's a picture they try to do a thing
with Nathaniel Hackett and Rogers just.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Pushes him out of the way. I just listened to
him over there trying.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
To get some stage time on Hard Knocks. Now, I'm
really the head coach. I swear I am good.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
If they really wanted to, you know, the other team
I really want to see. We talked about him a
few minutes ago. Give me the Patriots on Hard Knocks.
Give me that blank show take place all season long
with Belichick hating on Craft and hating on Mac Jones
and everything being horrendous and bad decisions being made. Now
give me the Patriots on Hard Knocks.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
I just it's just now because it's so boring with Bill.
I mean, because Bill keeps everything so tight. You know,
he's never going to say anything with a camera in
front of him. You just know that that's how he is.
And Bill to be quite honest when he's at his
best in front of the team. It's when he's like

(21:52):
super sarcastic and you know, making some jokes, and his
sarcasm doesn't translate to it to the ineral audience. It
comes off as so snarky as to be like really
truly mean spirited, where if you know Belichick, he's really
you know, it's it's meant to be it's meant to

(22:14):
be funny, and it is cutting. You know there is
a message behind it. But I just don't, like, I
think about listening to Belichick, even the private moments I've
had with him, and I just don't think it would
be all that entertaining unless you are a super serious
football fan and you're like into like history and knowing

(22:36):
why he does things. And that's just not what Hard
Knocks is about. Hard Knocks is about hot tapes. That's
what they do. And you know, or should we say,
shall we just rename it now? Are we just going
to call it soft knocks?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
You know, we're going to call it a summer with
Aaron Rodgers's. Oh, that's pretty cool. I like that, my
summer with Aaron quarterback Aaron Rodgers. That's part of the
Netflix saying no, no, it's a new thing to HBO,
or call it?

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Do we call it? Aaron Knox?

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I like what you did there? Should we just have
a companion?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Showed about the text exchanges of disgruntled running backs?

Speaker 4 (23:14):
That's that's so great. It is so great for those
guys that they are, that they're finally figuring it out,
that that they're they're not getting paid. My favorite, though,
was the text by Le'Veon Bell where he talked about
comparing it to a bugs life.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
He's one of the answer. And as I was reading
that and thinking about the sort of the economic understanding
of what he's trying to say, like, I could really
I could really sense the logic of Robert Reich and
he used to work in the Clinton administration. When we
talk about economics often, I thought it was very much
a parallel conversation because I see Robert Reich talking about

(23:56):
a bun's life as he tried to explain economics to people.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
So really, there they are the ants, right because box
Office was so dismal.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Yeah, I thought you were doing you were going to
go more of The Big Short. And here's Morgo Robbie
explaining how bad its good. There's Margo Robbie in a
hot tub explaining my running backs don't get there.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Could you imagine, you know, Le'Veon Bell like giving you
a movie review of The Big Short, like base based
on what you just saw from him today. Because here's
the thing running backs don't understand. Like, the nfl PA
sold those guys out, and I put that on Twitter today.

(24:37):
The nfl PA sold that running backs back in twenty
eleven when they agreed to the rookie wage scale. Because
if you have a guy, you have you have initially
a four year contract, right, then you have the fifty
year option, and then you have on top of that,
you have the right to franchise a guy, So you

(24:57):
have control of a guy for six years. How many
running backs are any good after six years? Because you know,
if they're decent, they're playing rookie year and they're playing
a lot, and then they go through the meat grinder
and they go, you know, somewhere between two hundred and
fifty to three hundred carries. You know, for three years,
they're pretty much done. You know, they're lucky if you know,

(25:18):
they're lucky if they're Ezekiel Elliott and they get to
a second contract right away, and you know, they basically,
you know, put some pressure on the team to give
them a new contract. But most guys, you know, they're
just they're done after that period of time. Even the
guys who were in the second round when's a four
year deal with a franchise, they're pretty much done after

(25:41):
the five years. So the teams don't want to pay
those guys on a second contract. The only solution and
the NFLPA, I don't think they are ever going to
have the leverage to do this. And I'm not sure
how long it's going to take. With a new executive
director who by the way, doesn't have any background football,
right it has never worked in the football industry to

(26:04):
begin with, for him to figure out what the pros
and cons of the collective bargaining agreement are and the
fact that you know, you should be fighting for three
year deals so guys get paid sooner rather than you know,
having these the rookie wage scale the way it is,
and I don't know if they're ever going to get

(26:24):
the kind of leverage that they need to get that
kind of deal. Now that's all technical stuff that fans
just don't care about, but that's why these guys don't
get paid. And instead of griping at the teams, you
should be griping at your own union.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Because I feel like for for running backs, they're at
the point where a lot of us get to where, hey,
you love a job that doesn't love you back, right,
because that that's kind of what that's kind of what
it is. They this job does not love running backs,
and it just doesn't. This is just the way the NFL.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
No, no, no, no, no, I disagree with that. This
job loves running backs and loves to use them as
many days because basically, any good running back is going
to touch the ball on what twenty to twenty five
percent of all your plays throughout a season. He's going
to be involved, and he's going to be and he's
going to be a featured weapon even the other times

(27:15):
that he doesn't touch the ball, you're going to fake that,
you're going to get him the ball in other situations, right,
So they love them, but they also understand we're going
to chew you up and spit you out, and that's
just the nature of the game. This is how the
game is played. And if you agree to a system
that allows us to take advantage of that, why do

(27:37):
you blame us for not paying you like that. The
fault of this is not the teams and the owners.
The fault of this was the people who negotiated the
CBA and gave away too much to create a rooky
wage scale because NFL owners somehow convinced the players it
was a bad idea for rookies to make a lot

(27:58):
of money. What, like, you thought that was a good
idea in a in a meat grinder sport where most
guys don't last three or four years. You're going to
have a system where guys have to, you know, like
work two or three years before they make their money.
Like that's one of the stupid you know, it's one
of the stupidest things that the union ever agreed to.

(28:19):
They should have just said three year max contracts for rookies.
They got to get paid right away. That's just the
way this works.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two solving the
problems of running backs as we speak.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Oh and wait and waiting for Aaron knock yep and
knocks on the door of the Jefferson's apartment. Could you
see that? Make sure that's good? Hey, I got iowas
too wady? Who is it? It's this guy with a
mustache and a beard talking about hyahuasca. What is that?

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Take it easy, write something about that now. But yeah,
I mean led Bell was right right. They're the ants,
but not the ants at A Bug Life. It's the
competing movie ann.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Z, which did half the box office like still did
all the same work, like Jim nance a NTZ at
the end, not answer time v Woody Allen.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
It did literally half the box office of A Bugs Life.

Speaker 2 (29:22):

(29:50):
in depth on the upset running backs, and there's lots
of them coming up in about ten minutes. But two
stories that I guarantee you are good for every NFL fan, Okay,
And usually when when when it falls under this category,
we get the potential these it both can be great stories.
Two teams announced new uniform. I say uniform because one's

(30:11):
a uniform, one's a helmet. Today the Browns are going
to have a white helmet to match their white jerseys
when they wear them this season. Just a white helmet
with the orange decal sliding down. It looks like one
of those helmets you buy when it's like hey uh,
and you can decorate it with whatever you want on

(30:31):
the side, right, Okay, can you use like a person,
don't go personalized. But I gotta say it is a
snazzy look Brownie on there. And I don't use that
word lightly. It is a sna is snazzy. That is
I like snazzy. It looks that's that's a word we
heard from our grandparents and our parents growing up. I

(30:54):
feel like for for fashions, but especially white uniforms because
usually you know, in in in the NH teams wear
their white uniforms at home, and and you know, the
cowboys wear their white uniforms at home. White is a
very snazzy color, right like white is. It's it's just
always felt that, well, that looks pretty snazzy, and these
uniforms are gonna look really snazzy. I'm a big fan

(31:14):
of this stuff for that, I can't. I hope the
Browns wear these these uniforms a lot. They look really
really good. Urban Dictionary to be well dressed, have really
stylish clothes on and generally look good.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
I would.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I had to look it up just to see if
it's been uh co opted into a different from what
we we grew up with. But no, no, I like
that white helmet again, looks good.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
I think anywhere you can just jam the brownie character
on there, it's good.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
I wouldn't you put a Brownie on the shoulder or something.
I felt like that, you know you do, but I
don't want the whole thing with the browns angel shoulder
looks more like an the im It's like he's up
to no good. It's just the new uniform with the
inflish little elf as to one court and the other

(32:03):
one that's on the other instead of telling me good things,
telling me bad things, telling me good things, telling me
bad things. Guys. Yeah, what do you got, Frostburg. They
can wear white all they want. They're still gonna play
like browns Ah. That is not wow, that's well, okay,
that's not wrong. Uh man. A lot of question mark's
going on there. But sure as much as I love
that that pales and can see white pales and compression,

(32:24):
that pales in comparison, the Minnesota Vikings are bringing back
their jerseys of the sixties and seventies with that deep,
rich purple and more yellow down the side. Oh my god,
those jerseys were look purple people leaders, you know for
a reason. Yeah, those jerseys, certain jerseys of the sixties
and seventies are awesome. And look, you know how much

(32:46):
I like the Dolphins uniforms of the said that deep
aqua green, even though you know, yeah I feel about
the Dolphins. That uniform is so great. This this deep
purple with a little bit more of the yellow one.
I hope it's not too modern, because that's sometimes what
happens to jerseys. Hey, we're bringing at the same color
scheme from the great but if you put it on
too modern a jersey, it just you lose it, all right,
you lose a bit. No I want, I want to

(33:07):
see it. If you're gonna throw back, throw back to that,
throw back like the charges with the powder blues, throw
back to that. Don't give me something so hey, it's
gonna be a thin gold line. No no, give me
the big gold line down the side of the pants.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
We're getting the gold on the pants, the gold stripes
on the sleeves, the deep purple, which you know I celebrate.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
They're in division.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
So I can't buy one of those on the No, no, no,
unless it's a classic player that I have, you know,
just signed at a memorabili show. But they're opening, they're
gonna play September tenth. They're gonna wear those in their
home opener against the Buccaneers who unveiled the fashion show
of the Creamsicles, where you can buy a creamsicle Tom jersey.
He'll Tom Brady jersey. He'll never wear it, but he

(33:49):
gets forty five percent of sales. It's gonna look like
nineteen seventy six that opening gets out. Yeah, the deep Purple,
the Vikings and TJ. They're not gonna wear them in
that game because it's a road game. There will be
some smoke on the water if that's the case. Yeah,
I mean the creamsicles are for a later game, but
I mean they should wear them at the opener.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
If the Vikings are going, I think everything.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Throw it back.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Just go back to what you wore in the seventies
and eighties. Just go back. Get in there and you
would love You know what you can do. Everybody gets
to wear throwbacks for their home openers, and then you
can give that money to the running backs. Oh wow,
look at you solving problems right there. So I stay
to sing and you know we're sending our love down
the well. Yeah, and now you give me a.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
D D.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Did come on? Zack a tagzack a tag zack a
tag coming up next? The biggest piece of advice I
could give to any running back who's not happy with
this contract Fox, I don't like commas
