Still at least six minutes left to go in the
United States's first game of the Women's World Cup against Vietnam,

(00:59):
nine extra minutes. At least of extra time, USA leads
Vietnam three. Nothing bit of a shocker eye opener for
a lot of people that this was not a more
dominant victory on the scoreboard. And we'll have more on
this game coming up in about twenty minutes as we
break down just where we sit after night one, am
I gonna tell you Mike my harmon right away.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I don't feel any different than I did last night.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yeah, you're you're a bit more nervous than I am
in this process, feeling out some opportunities, miss stuff to
clean up again. You know, you got a shortened turnaround
back together, right, everybody off with their NWSL teams. You're
inconvene and then you know you're getting your treatment. You're
missing a lot of injured players, so you're substituting a

(01:44):
lot of young players. We know that the core of
the squad, the names that we're familiar with. For many
of them, this is, you know, gonna be their last run.
So part of it is gonna be a little bit
of pacing. And they've dominated the game, right, It's one
of those Hey, you dominated, you just didn't put the
ball in the back of the net. And I know

(02:04):
that's the endgame and and the plenty of losses and
piled up over that, but they will survive. You're Alex
Morgan problem after she missed and had that penalty.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yeah, yeah, wiped away.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, very difficult because I think we're.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Still there's still no shots for Vietnam.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Are there? No? No, no, no, there are no shots.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Did they ever get passed?

Speaker 4 (02:23):
I don't know the third dark green stripe of lawn?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I mean ah ah, I actually did see a listen
their play one ball, so I think that that did happen.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
But was it a shot on goal or just you know?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Oh no, I think it was Actually it was actually
a fan return the ball to the field.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Oh see, Actually, I think that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
So we'll have more on this game coming up in
a few minutes here live from the Tirec dot com studios.

the other big story in the world tonight Leono Messi's

(03:03):
MLS debut for Inner Miami against cruz Azul in the
League's Cup, and it was everything you'd expect it to be.
The stands were full, Beckham was there, so many luminaries
and Messi coming off the bench right away. Inner Miami
gives up the lead overrated get rid of him, he's
not worth it. But then late in the game, in fact,

(03:27):
there was only a minute and a half played after this.
It was a free kick for Inner Miami about ten
yards outside of the eighteen, and of course Messi is
taking it, and of course this was the result.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Here it is Messi any other.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Apple TV on the call?

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Wait, I didn't get I was watching baseball and that
was on Apple TV.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yes, Apple TV on the call.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Messy curls it in just inside the post, a left
footed free kick. Inner Miami wins it two to one.
The celebration after he's walking around giving high fives to people,
getting congratulatory handshakes. It's almost it's almost like everybody decided, okay,
that was pretty sweet. It's Messy in the MLS, and wow,

(04:29):
we need we gotta take a minute, we gotta take
him in. And everybody understands, all right, you know, it
was a big thing. Every everybody's going crazy. The fans
were going nuts. Let's take them it, Let it happen.
It was a long and elongated celebration, and about a
minute after that they blew the final whistle and Milan
and Messi's debut wins a two to one, and of
course he wins it with that goal on the free kick.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
That was pretty sweet.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Well, you know, some would say, I mean it's a
Hollywood kind of thing. Writers are on strike, but the
sporting world you can't.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
You can't know.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
You're not allowed to say it's a Hollywood thing. When
the right are on strike, you can't do that. You're
not allowed to. I have to report you now, I
have to call Mandy Patinkin and I'm going to tell you, Hey,
this is what Mike Harmon said.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
You're gonna be in a lot of trouble, isn't it.
Fran Dresher, Oh.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Well, but Mandy Pataka comes at you aggressively. She's got
the title. He's he can he gets kind of menacing
when he starts talking.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah, but the nanny's voice will get you. Man.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
No, there's no question about that punishment.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I mean, look, you had a great convene convergence of
all the UK stars, right with Haley Atwell, who Jason
said was too much.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
In Mission Impossible. You're gonna hang it out with Brian Cox.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
He's been it too much.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
I mean that's kind of cool, but yeah, it was
a rocket shot something tight shirt and that we're talking
about before. I mean, that's like ninety nine point. I
don't even think there's room for her. I think it's
a full one hundred goal.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I mean, it really is something. And to see the reaction,
right because now we're gonna get something pretty big here,
is that sometimes you can understand that there is a
sea change going on in the sports world, and sometimes
we think it's there, but it's not. And then we
think it's there but it's not, and we think it's
there again, but it's not. But within the next few years,

(06:13):
within the next five years, I would say we're gonna
be talking about the four major sports again, because you
and I growing up the four major sports all the
way into the nineties into the early two thousand and
for baseball, football, basketball, hockey. Right, those are the four
major sports, the ones that got all the television contracts.
And yeah, you watch tennis or golf when they were on,
but the baseball, football.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Basketball, hockey. Now what happened.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Hockey's fallen off in a large way and now it
barely rates, which look it sucks because you and I
are both big hockey fans, but I understand what's happened
to the sport and boy, Gary Bettman just as hey
do it such a great job taking it from one
of the four major sports too. Hey, anybody want to
televise our games? Anybody, anybody at all? But right now

(06:55):
is that moment for soccer in the United States? And
you could say it kind of goes back to the
lenn and Donovan goal against Algeria and the twenty eleven
World Cup that that kind of that was the awakening,
right that would you kind of say that was the
force awakening that Hey, you know, you see how much
we care about soccer. But still the next few World Cups,
it was, well, we care about the men in the
World Cup.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
We care about the women in the World Cup. The
women are winning.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
But now it just seems like this is soccer's time
in the United States and and and when you look
at everything happening with the the the overall attention the
MLS is thriving. I mean they are, you know, some
some team setting attendance records every single year. The MLS
has never been better. You have the successive shows now

(07:38):
like ted Lasso and Welcome to Wrexham, which you're a
big deal that that Hey, these are shows that people
are consuming. Yes, Ted Lasso is a comedy and it
happens to take place in the world of soccer, but
it's still a soccer comedy. Welcome to wrection them to
show about a soccer team and bleeping whales Man and okay,
but it's still it's still something that has cut through
and gains a lot of attention. And now when you

(08:01):
throw in Leono Messi, who is now at the MLS
in the right time, David Beckham showed up, it was
a little too early and maybe that kind of started
a little bit, that kind of started the spark, but
it really didn't hit until you get to twenty eleven
in Landon Donovan. And now that Messi is here, every
game is going to be a traveling circus show. Wherever

(08:22):
Messi's going to play, wait, whether he plays road games
or not, but every game that he plays is going
to be an event. It's going to be a big thing.
And at thirty six he's still here. He's still going
to be able to dominate for at least another couple
of years. Looks lot time came over when you thought
his career was over and what he played like sixty
five MLS games, had sixty seven goals something insane like that.

(08:42):
The guy was amazing. But Messi is just a different
kind of superstar. It's a whole other level. You're talking
about arguably the biggest superstar in the world who is
now playing soccer in the United States. Everything he does
is going to gain attention. The highlights are going to
be on television all the time. It's going to be
talked about out. Messi's going to be debated, what his

(09:03):
impact is going to be. This is soccer's time now,
and in the next five years, it's gonna be baseball, football, basketball, soccer,
and it's gonna be NFL, NBA, MLB, and MLS. And
I would say MLS is gonna expect but I want
to say soccer rather than just MLS because as big
as it's going to be, you still have the women's
national team and the men's national team that gains a

(09:25):
lot of attention to play important tournaments like the Gold
Cup and other friendlies, getting ready for the World Cup.
We get it every couple of years, so it gets
a little bit bigger than MLS. But get ready because
that's what we're that's where we're at. We're gonna have
the four major sports again within the next five years,
and soccer is going to be that fourth sport.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yeah, I mean we talk about demographic shifts. We talked
about it a little bit last night. The eyeballs, the
investment because we keep talking about live sports being that
last bastion of Hey, I have to watch it. It's
not binge watching later. It's not wait till tomorrow. No, no, no,
I have to the immediacy of it is there so
ad sales and the money that goes into each league

(10:05):
and then trickle down back into the college game. When
we start talking about conferences and everything, uh that it
all flows together.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
You think with Messi, I'm really glad he scored, though.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Jason, because otherwise you know what the headline was, Hey,
Lebron James showed up to see Messi play. I told hey,
injected himself into the damn news again.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
You told me I was wrong. He's done for a while. No,
there he is.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
No, you're right, you're right, And it would have been
all Messi doesn't score, it's Lebron's fault.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
That that would have been.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I mean, that would have been good.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
It would have been the thing.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Oh, it's Lebron MESSI was gonna be fun, but Lebron
shows up and now that's not there.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Get right, you're right, you're right, there's no question about it.
You know they'll get you.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
I mean, she showed up Jason, and he already came
off the bench.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Was Tom Brady there?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
He didn't even start because she showed up.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, no, I listen, I can't start until Kim Kardashian's interseat.
And I know it's gonna be a little while, so
I'll come off the bench.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I'm fine.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Well, I mean, because everybody has to as she goes by.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
What do you think, guys, is it safe to say
he's already the greatest MLS player ever?

Speaker 4 (11:07):
I think I think it would not be too big
a hot take to do that. In the reaction to this.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
I remember when Beckham debuted and how big a deal
it was. But I you know, I just I just
don't think he's you know what, he's gonna remember that.
Here's how it's gonna go down. You're gonna talk about
that the biggest stars in the MLS and looks a
lot time is probably the third biggest star to ever
play in the m LS. You're gonna look at David
Beckham as the conduit, the guy who kind of opened

(11:32):
the door a little bit for soccer's popularity. But the
guy that that that broke the door down and took
it through is going to be messy.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Well, but he was giving us everything.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Brought us victoria like that. That's what we did get.
We did get pash for a while.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Although in my push, in my in my in my
spice girls rankings, I have, I have Baby spice higher,
I have Ginger spice higher, I do.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Ginger was always the number one seed.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
I haven't Ginger and baby if they were at at
the scary scary but yeah, oh yeah, yeah no, I
always had Pauschia.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
The like where do you have ice? Spice ice spce.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Rising through the rankings pretty fast, no question about it.

Speaker 1 (12:15):

we talked about Messi the impact he is going to
have year in the United States a few minutes ago,
and you watched trust me. Within the next five years,
soccer becomes the fourth major sport in the United States.
And that's how big it is. But an impact right now,
Mike Harmon. In the Women's World Cup, the United States

(15:14):
win their opening game, much more of a struggle than
we thought it was going to be. It was five
and a half goal spread. They beat Vietnam three nothing.
What did some of those goals sound like? Sophia Smith
with a couple, Lindsey Horam, Let's take a listen.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Let's try to break through so ardys on the two
six US.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
This that all shot? Take it, bloods.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
She has two play it suits, finally for Lindsey h
third times at churn for another US Big Fox.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
On the call, those were your goals, Alex Morgan seeing
a penalty, The United States gets the win, right, they
do what they need to do, right. They're talking about
getting out of group, winning the third consecutive World Cup, unprecedented.
Let's go here first, let's talk about what we liked
from tonight's game before we get to what really keeps
making me nervous, because look, there was a lot of

(16:19):
good tonight, and the main thing I've told you is
that my main concern is who's going to score for.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
The United States? Because is Alex Morgan still elite?

Speaker 1 (16:29):
After tonight? You got to say the jury's out right
a horrible penalty. She got lucky that on the second
goal she wasn't called for offside. Who knows if she's
still an elite scorer. Megan Rapino is only going to
play a handful of minutes. Sophia Smith, somebody we talked
about her last night, is going to have to take
that mantle and say, you know what, I'm going to
be able to score a lot. Look, she's the leading
scorer in the NWSL for the Portland Thnes somebody else

(16:53):
has to score. And for her to have two goals
tonight and to set up Lindsay Horan was awesome because
tonight watching this game, so Fhia Smith Lindsay Horan, two
best players on the field bar none. They were everywhere
as the game went on. Lindsey, Look, Lindsay Hrant is
probably the best midfielder on the planet.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
And she was able to.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Control the game as slowly just putting her will on
the game. She was everywhere. So Fhia Smith's finished, she
had both goals, she had the setup. That's what I
really really liked. Two of the best players at the
United States is going to need to step up. Had
their big games.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Yeah, and I think when you look at Lindsay Horan,
I mean we had that. They said, hey the third
times the charm. They were referring to a couple of
missed opportunities that she'd had, right, So that's the thing,
you know, glass half fole and stay on the that
you like is the opportunities were there. Now they were
a heavy favorite against Vietnam. The expectation was a barrage

(17:47):
of goals. I think we all got pretty close to
double digits in terms of trying to predict where this
would land. And they sure as hell had their opportunities.
A lot of working in space on set pieces. Again,
you take the opponent, but they're playing soccer too, so
I can't dismiss them altogether. But off the set pieces, opportunities,

(18:08):
misdirected headers, a few open shots that go wide or
over the goal, go mount I mean there there were,
there were certainly chances to be had. You know how
much Alissa Thompson's going to factor in is one of
the other things when we talk about the young stars
and the up and comers here obviously really fresh faced
on the international scene. You look at her, Trinity Rodman

(18:30):
had a couple of opportunities. I think their their roles
and their impact will be greater as we go. But
right now, the star and the name that's going to
be made right the passing of the torch, Lindsey Horant
is going to be the person we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, it's really difficult because the last couple World Cups,
it's like she's had a tough time staying on the field,
like like you know, I'm like, why Lindsay Lindsay Rand's
not starting. Really, she's not She's not starting. She's not starting, really,
she's not starting.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
US is starting, and Lindsay Ram's not starting.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
So look, and there are a lot of injuries that
the United States has, but you know these are yeah,
these aren't players that are coming back, right. The two
things you're waiting on is and this is also part
of the good is Rose Level will play more minutes
as a tournament goes on. She came in much earlier
than I expected her to come in tonight, like I
think in the sixty third minute, her and Megan Rapino

(19:18):
came in. Repino came in a lot earlier than I
thought she was going to come in, and they both
look good. So as the tournament goes on, that's kind
of what I expect from Rapino to come in like
around the sixtieth minute. Rose Level will probably play a
little bit sooner here and there. She hit the crossbar
on a huge scoring try, so that's just going to
get better. You know, she's a world class player. So
there are going to be good things and a lot

(19:42):
of it is and some of it is they needed
to play a game a lot of new players. Let's
shake off the russ let's get comfortable with each other,
because it's one thing to play together for friendly's and through.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
But at the you know, look, you're trying to figure out.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Who's your top eleven, what are your substitutions, who's going
to be playing. When do we get so and so
release from the NWSL to come play. It's a big
it's a big jigsaw puzzle trying to put it together.
So now that everybody's here, Hey, as the tournament goes on,
that's gonna get a little bit more clear, and you're
going to see players with more defined roles and it's
just gonna get more comfortable.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
So that that's all. That's all the good stuff that
I saw off the United States.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Well, and that's the thing you mentioned, the NWSL and
the scoring acumen and all that. Remember this is interrupting
the season, right, So it was Hey, guys, meet up
at the airport. You gotta you gotta go overseas and
get the work. By the way, those suits they wore today,
my daughter wants one. Forget about the kids forgetting those
suits sharp as hell, but just you know, getting timing,

(20:43):
integrating young players. We mentioned the injuries you got five
of five or six players that would have been probably
longing significant minutes during the course of this tournament that
are unavailable to you. The unfortunate is you've got some
that are long standing knee and so it's like, eh,
how quickly are you getting back because they've been delayed

(21:04):
as it is.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
But it's you know, just take from it.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
You got your timing, you got your three to zero,
and it looks like you went out without anybody getting hurt.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
I'll take it.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Yeah, Okay, So there's the good. Right, there's the good.
Now here's the concern.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
I look at this game and I feel the exact
same about the United States as I felt last night,
which is not great because I told you how nervous
I was because I don't know if they're going to
be able to score enough. That's the big thing. Do
they have the firepower because a lot of it is unproven.
That's why so much pressure is on Sophia Smith, who
may be the most important player for the women's national team,

(21:39):
because they're gonna need her to score a ton of goals.
Like I said, see Alex Morgan, is she's still elite.
This was kind of a zero sum game for me
for the United States.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Yeah, they won.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
They won three to nothing against an opponent who, by
their own admission, is just hoping to score a goal
in the World Cup. That's their success's at level for success.
What's a successful World Cup to score a goal? Right,
that's you heard them talking about in the broadcast tonight.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Long road begins with the first step, Buddy on No.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
I get it, but you know, but this is also
you know, this team just lost to Spain, like what
nine to nothing? You know, ten nothing in Spain's really good.
They got to fix that offense. That offense has to
click pretty fast. You don't have six months to get
it going. You got another couple of games before. Hey,
if we don't have this fix, we're gonna be in trouble.
And that the the the the opponents are just gonna

(22:28):
get better. I mean, Vietnam is the worst team in
the entire World Cup. And and it was three nothing,
and I look, and that's why I said, I get
that you need a little bit of time, and they
needed to play this game, and there were some missed opportunities,
but three nothing against Vietnam. This are our talent alone
should have had this at six or seven nothing, And
I know we miss shots, but like I said, we

(22:48):
only have a couple of games to get this going.
So while you think maybe we'll be a little bit
more in sync as the games go on, games are
also going to get a lot more difficult. So it's
kind of like a zero sum game where we won
but nothing was solid. I don't feel like we're going
to lose, but nothing I saw tonight made me think, Oh,
we're gonna roll to a third World Cup zero sum
game tonight.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Yeah, in the end, succeed and proceed, my guy, take
the w learn, gets your learnings, get your leanings, and
recognize most teams are not going to be so desperate
to not lose nine nothing that they're stacking the box
like you're Adrian Peterson. No, but I mean, but that's

(23:30):
I think an important part of this, right. Steve at
one point gave us the update, what was it, twenty
three shots to nothing, So you just have the sequencing
of it's going to come together and you got out
of here your first game, you get a wo When
we get into your tie breaks and point differentials or whatever,

(23:51):
is always a beautiful thing. So yeah, I'm still glass
half full, buddy, I'm not jumping on board your negativity.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yeah no, no, no, I said zero.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I said, I mean that's just missing the fact that
you got a.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
W Dude, you gotta be realistic, man. You can't just say, oh, look,
everything is awesome. I did not say you've lost sixteen
in a row.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
We talked about all the wards that showed all the
missed opportunities.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
It's absolutely no. I mean, Lovell had a couple of opportunities.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
You talk about the crossbar, You had a bunch of
run ons, you know, for deep balls where nobody was
playing defense. And the officials, you know, not not to
make it about a fitling, but they were awful decisive.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Yeah, well they gave us the one goal where.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Probably also forget Yeah, there were also a couple of
falls that should have been called. They just it was
the like we talked about yesterday at some point like
I'm not calling all those.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
But but let me but let me ask, let's be honest.
Do you think the United States Do you think the
team is walking away from this game saying yeah, we
feel really good, or they saying oh no, no, we
got stuff to hammer down. They're they're walking away saying
we got stuff to hammer down, walking away from this,
going hey, this is what we wanted to do.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
We're rolling. We got our eyes on the World Cup.
Now there's a lot of stuff to do with it.
This is not the same team.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
I mean just because we see you see the names
of Rapino and Morgan and some of the other ones
you're familiar with in Lavalley are okay, No, this is
not the same to This is a team that was
dominated in the Olympics, that looked old and slow, and
the next level of players has not come in to
dominate yet. They got some talent de look Trinity Robin's
very talented Sophia Smith, we talked about her. There, you

(25:35):
got Lindsey Horan. You have some really talented players. But
this next level, this next incarnation of the team is
not nearly where it needs to because, quite honestly, if
this was the same team, Meghan Rapino wouldn't be playing.
She would have a tough time even getting on the field.
You'd be like Carly Lloyd at the end of her career. Boy,
if she gets on the field, that's lucky. Alex Morgan

(25:57):
would have the Megan Rapino role, where she would come
off the bench in like the sixty and sixty five
to fifth minute. But because the United States is not
quite there, you have Alex Morgan playing the whole game
or playing until she got subbed out, and Rapino coming
in to play forty minutes of thirty five minutes. So
you know it's not there yet. You know they're not there,
and that that's the most telling thing is they're still

(26:17):
relying on too much on the old garden to say,
show the way where you had four years. Okay, this
is a group that won two World Cups. This should
be Repeina and Morgan saying hey, you know, hey, we
did we did our thing. Come on, guy, you gotta
you gotta, you gotta take the torch hire.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
We don't have that. So yeah, zero s for me
for the United States in this.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, but remember you're you're comparing to the past.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
You know, we got to take the team as it
is now, right, expecting the goals built built in. I
think a little of that is history and just expectations
for this squad remains sky high. It's a new world order, man,
it's a new I mean, the women's side of things
has gotten so much more competitive, I mean we watched

(27:00):
Canada last night, but for a really badly botched patalty kick.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
I mean there's tough squad.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Yeah, but we all got sandwiches because you had an
I know, Geria and Nigeria with getting my half goal,
we won sandwiches.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
You got, You got the job done and you were
a hero of the day. You know.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
By the way, I didn't get one thank you from
tay Shirt or Frostburg or de Sager say hey, thanks
for picking that side and getting and getting them, getting Nigeria,
getting getting a half goal to win sandwiches for all
I know one thank you for all of them? What
all you guys sandwiches? And you got Harmon's credit card again,
ty Shirt that you can now go through with me.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Yes you did.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
You Hadbello sandwich, Yeah you did. You had the Portobello SIPs.
It was wrapped in quenwa.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Oh okay, yeah you had that.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I said it doesn't and instead of mayonnaise, they they
just ground up a whole bunch of seaweed and just yeah,
that's not fat.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
I saw you have that sandwich that sounds like healthy
sous I.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
Was gonna say, that's really that's the secret menu like
it's an in and out.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
That's that's Fats bastions from a Little Mermaid. That's what
I actually traded for a shake? Remember, and I thanked Harmon?
Oh yeah, yeah yeah, how do you not thank me?

Speaker 1 (28:08):
I got you that shake? I got you that shake
this Harmon didn't get. Harmon paid for it.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
I got it for you. You didn't get the question
I got you.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Know this is this is like a heist movie where
there's two sets of people, because the people that have
the money to back the heist and there's the guys
in these things. Harmon had the money. I did the
heisting for you guys nothing. Oh hey, thanks, why do
I just went through the whole thing. I planned it
all out. I got another guy. I made sure that
that al Pacino was was taking care of it. Ellen
Barkin was was was was had pheromones going on with

(28:36):
a big nose of mad Damon. I make sure all
that stuff was happening. Hey, Harmon, thanks a lot, waited, Armon.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Thanks a lot. He just confirmed that he's hoisted his
best friend.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Yeah no, I mean I feel hoodwinked. I think we
need a new show up him and and yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, do you find out that
that canon Nigeria game was on tape delay?

Speaker 3 (28:56):
We were watching it. By the way.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Also, I also kind of dig that you you got
an Ocean's thirteen reference.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, it's a hey, very underrated, very Ocean's Like, well they.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Did an I dream Bound after the cash grab of
Ocean's twelve. Yeah, twelve, which grows on you a little
bit over time.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Dude, when I watched the last scene and I'm like, oh, wait,
the Yankee and Red Sox fans are fighting.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Really that that's what does it? Really?

Speaker 1 (29:18):
That's what doesn't Everybody is so nervous about guarding this briefcase,
but there's a fight. Nobody thinks, oh, this fight is
stage to get the briefcase. Really, I mean, come on, man.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
That overseas and there's a Randy I.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Feel like when that was, that was Clooney and Matt
Damon in a room for five minutes, going, hey, we
don't know how to end it. Let's just have one
of us with Red Sox hat and it'll be kind
of a fun thing with Ben Affleck. Yeah, yeah, sure,
let's do it that way and that's how we'll end it.
Oh great, thanks, That was that's just late. That's like
I feel like quoting Deadpool. That's just lazy writing.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Well, you know what, I saw some good writing today
because I went and saw Barbie.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Oh okay, we got to get your Barbie review. Oh yeah,
because you know, you know, you know what is it
big for? I didn't know this till today. Barbon hut phrase,
you just.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Figured that out. I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I didn't know Barbara the hell have you been? Most?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
I thought Barbenheimer was going to see both these movies.
Then it was which movie do you choose to see first?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
I didn't know that. I didn't know Barbenheimer was that thing.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Yeah, I don't know that. I'm going to see The
Ladder in a theater. But that's a whole other discussion.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
There's a good in the bad for the United States
women's national team.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Angels fans, they really don't want them to go. Even
on nights where Otani does things like give up four
home runs like he did tonight, leaving tonight's him against
the Pirates with an eight to five lead in the
seventh inning, he still gets a standing ovation going off there.
Those four home runs. Great, we're still winning standing ovation
coming off the field for show. Hey Otani Otani watched

(31:19):
twenty twenty three As we creep closer and closer to
the trade deadline, that's.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
One bad game. Although he has served up an awful
lot of home runs. I want to say, it's up
to like eighteen or nineteen for the year.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
I think you're right about that. I think you are
right about that. Well, well, for tonight's not gonna.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
No, it's not gonna help me. I'm just saying that
he was already struggling with a long ball. Now, there's
one thing to be said in the annals of history. Guys,
giving up a ton of home runs you go through,
and it's a lot of solo shots, So okay, for
whatever that's worth. Right in the end, you're still giving
up gopher balls. And generally, if you're the ace, guess

(31:58):
what your offense often just doesn't necessarily show up. It's like, oh,
we only need one or two uh to get the
guy by. But yeah, you're gonna celebrate everything he does.
He trips and falls going back to the dugout ray, Yay,
you're gonna gasp as he goes to the to the ground.
And then as soon as he starts to get to

(32:19):
one knee, like he's hull coke and get ready to
hulk out, you're on your feet losing your mind.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Yeah, sure of course, No, it's gonna be Look like,
look at he's falling down. And then he falls out again,
and then he falls down for a third time. And
on his way down he stops and his hands he
starts to make that and make that fist, and then
he puts one finger up in the air.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
And does all that. Yeah, it's outstanding, It would be
absolutely outstanding.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
We changed the game here. Oh I liked I like that.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Mike Carmon, I dig that I would like this. I'd
like to see a little bit of whole Comania running
wild there.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Oh dun, dun, dun dun.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
I mean, you know when you get the double screen going,
I mean because you gotta get some SmackDown, you know,
on Fox going as well. Sure, you know, because you've
got all the luminaries of today, m M now and
now forever is the tagline.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Yeah, that's shoo Tani then now, maybe forever, depending on
how many games he went over the course of the
next couple of.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Weeks, And that's what it's gonna be. Please stay, Oh

he plays quarterback and he plays safety. I heard he
