It is over in New Zealand. The United States and

(00:52):
the Netherlands finish in a one to one draw.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Oooo.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Both teams now at the top of Group E with
four points, making a lot easier for the United States
to advance. We have to play Portugal next on Saturday,
and the instant reaction coming off this game. Look. We
talked last hour about how Look the United States needed
to find a little bit of fire. You gotta get
pissed a little bit. Lindsay Horan got pissed. She puts

(01:17):
a corner in to tie the game. From then on,
the United States owned the game. They were clearly the
better team on the field, and you were just looking
for that spark.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Look.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Look like I said at the beginning of the show,
I could have given the halftime speech, Hey, we gotta
wake up, we gotta get a little pissed. I'm now
back in coach mode, exactly. We got to get a
little pissed. I'd be looking at everybody. Ye, I could
say that to them. Sure they can, Yeah, I can.
It's okay to get pissed. It's okay to get piss
okay to get mad. It's okay to be mad about it.
Look them all in the eye, it's okay to get mad.

(01:48):
And the Lindsay Horan situation happened with a defender on
Netherlands who just clocked her from behind. There was a
bit of a back and forth. Referee try to bring
them both together. Hey guys, let's apologize, Let's go back
and play. It was such an odd moment when they
were jawing out each other, and she's like, let me
bring you two together so we can figure out our differences.
But then the ensuing corner, Roosevelt puts it right in

(02:11):
the middle. Lindsey Horan races in, gets higher than everybody,
puts it in the back of the net, and from
then on it was the United States' game, and they've
tied one one. Maybe that was something they needed. But
I'll tell you what the two biggest questions coming off
this game I have now is Number one is where
was Megan Rapino in the final ten minutes. Now, she's
someone that can play a lot of minutes anymore, No,

(02:32):
she can't. But when the United States is kind you
got to see that we're kind of running the game
here and Repino's up top. You know, you're not worried
about her running around so much admid you know she's
up top, and you're putting on a lot of pressure,
and you had a lot of corners, you had a
lot of set pieces, which a Repino specialty, and you
need someone that knows how to put the ball in
the back of the net. Because as much as I
watched this game, the United States had a lot of

(02:54):
chances in the second half yeah, and and the thing
is Trinity Rodman, who is going to have a great
career with the United States women's national team and she's
gonna be a fun player to watch for the next
fifteen years. I don't know what was going on in
the last twenty five minutes of the game. She looked
like she was gassed. She would get the ball on
the wing and would have it one on one and

(03:16):
it would turn into a turnover. And I don't know,
is she ready for this? I don't know, but clearly
there was a lot of times and she had an
easy shot she missed. You couldn't give the United States
the lead. She just wasn't there to finish. And that's
what you need, is you need people who can finish.
Alex Morgan is the only finisher and she's having a
very suspect tournament so far. She's been very uneven. So
I don't know why Rapino's not in the game in

(03:38):
the final ten minutes where Okay, Meghan's in. Now you
got to watch it because number one, you just put
Meghan Rapino in the game, and the United States feels okay, okay,
our real captain is sorry, Alex Morgan, our real captain
is in and we're going to be fine out and
the other team has to account for her because she
can make plays off the set. You're not worried about
her breaking down and launching a long ball to Alex Morgan,

(03:59):
but the fact that she's in the game when you
are controlling play, I don't know why she wasn't and
that that's the biggest thing I want to know after
the game is over. Was something up? Was she not
hurt or are we gonna get well? We wanted to
save Megan. We figured the game was going pretty well,
We're getting a lot of pressure, and we saved her
legs for the next game. I don't know kind of
crazy ass answer we're gonna get. But I really, she
can't play ten minutes. She can't come in the eightieth

(04:21):
minute when suddenly you have flipped the field, because that's
what happened after Lindsay Haran's goal. I get not bringing
her right in because you brought her in the sixty
third minute against Vietnam, which is really she's coming in
that we're winning the game, they're not have a shot
on goal, and Rapino's in the game in the sixty
third minute, so that that's a tactical mistake if she
was just winded and couldn't play. But why, I mean,

(04:42):
when you have, when you have clearly shown that all
right after Horan's goal, for the next twenty minutes, we've
owned play. We can put Meghan Rapino in here, and
she's up top, and we're gonna find a way to
make her affect the game. I don't know why she
wasn't in the game.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Yeah, I mean, that'll be the first question asked of
the coaching staff. And and as you get out out
of this one, and certainly the second half, you raise
a good point with Rodman a couple of times looking
up and doing a little too much herself and getting caught,
you know, touch on passes, and this happened on both
sides where you were leaving you know, you've got an open,

(05:19):
open teammate, and you do that kind of soft pass
because you don't want it to be a heavy touch
coming back right one of those ricochets. Instead, it's getting
intercepted because you're leaving it to hang too long. And
certainly the US had a bunch of those. Smith had
a big chance that she kicked wide. I wanted to
go back to the Haran big collision. It's actually her

(05:42):
club teammate Danielle Vanderdunk.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
So the two of.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Them all smiles and love after the match. But as
we chronicled in live live play right before they put
the ball back into play, as she went blank and
b refer with the aggressive of the hip check, and
she got a revenge a little later on, with about
ten minutes left, she wiped her out. Well, I mean, look,

(06:08):
you don't want to give free kicks, but look she did.
But yeah, they played for Olympique Leonees, so there you go.
But all in all, in an effort, it was good
at my signal unleash hell sad that it takes your
one of your top scorers who were called for the
ball a lot. Then you know, to go back to
the first half, one of the pieces of analysis was

(06:31):
she was calling for the ball and I don't know
if they're not hearing her and they're not willing to
take the make the big play to go find her,
but her and was running unopposed at times in that
first half, and it's like, all right, you at least
got to try to get her. She's one of your
more aggressive and towards the nets. So it was a

(06:53):
little curiosity there, but certainly the second half you got
to feel better about the effort you got. Again, she
shouldn't have to be writhing in pain for you know,
the at my signal unleash hell thing to happen. But
if that, if that's what it takes, all right, someone's
taking a big hit in the third game. That's that's
just the way it's gonna have to happen.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Well, I'll tell you that that's the That's the other thing,
you know, when you look at now for the posit
we talked about this stuff, the questions coming off why
no Rapino Alex Morgan being really uneven? I again, I
don't understand how she just stood. She's five feet away
from the ball and the defenders don't know who's gonna
take it, and she just stands there and when she
could she could take in two steps and got a
deflection the balls in the back of the net. I

(07:32):
know she's been so uneven so far, right, Well, the
off side play, yeah, I mean she's got to know.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
There were a couple where they had to pull the
ball back out in the first half because she was offside,
so they had to reset. Yeah, it changed up the
time of now one thing to take from it, though
they did get some of that possession time back.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
We talked about it.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Sixty two percent for Netherlands in the first half down
to fifty six fifty seven for the second half, and
they still only had one shot on goal for the game.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Yeah, one shot and that's in the back of the net. Yeah,
I mean it's it's crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Well, I mean that was a terrible defensive breakdown. I
mean that would be the anti recruiting video for Crystal Dunn.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
M mmm, twitter at how about a Fresco Mike at

by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable. Get

ATV and more all your protection in one plays bundle

the good part of it, right, because now here's the
good going forward, which is something that the United States

(08:31):
has that nobody else has. Rose Level didn't start the
game today. Okay, we thought she was going to start.
You mentioned before, Hey, she's ready to go. Didn't start
came in at halftime, and again her coming in kind
of coincides with Lindsey Horan getting pissed. She was the
one that set the corner up, so I fully expect
her now to almost be a full go.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
She ran through people with reckless abandon a few times.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
I gotta think that roose Level is going to start
the next game, and Roosevelt starting is a huge advantage
for the United States. But the other part of it
is if it wasn't if it wasn't evident in the
first game, it's get on Lindsay Horan's back. She's going
to carry this team. She's the best midfielder in the world.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
I might wear a kit before it's all She's shy.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Oh man, She's my favorite player on this team. She's
she's physical, she's fast. She's the one where you talk
about who's going to who's going to lead this team
now with the because we've gotten away from Rapino and Morgan,
because they're they're older, they can't they can't compete like
they did. This is Lindsay Horan's time. She's the one
that's going to carry the United States to however far

(09:36):
they go on this tournament and the combination of her
realizing that and and becoming that player really today, because look,
you're not going to play a better team in the Netherlands, right,
I mean they're really You have other teams that are
about as good, but it's not like you, boy, we
have so and so waiting now. This is about as
high level as you're gonna play. And Lindsay Horan was
dominant in this game, and and so yeah, get on
her back and rose level now potentially playing a full

(09:59):
ninety min it to the next game. That's the good
part for the United States part. We had the bad part.
That's the good part going forward that I'm excited about.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
Well, that's it. I think you're seeing those new leaders emerge, right,
the style of play, the aggressiveness, and you've got enough
young talent. You mentioned Rodman. We talked about Sophia Smith
and what she did in that opener. Uh that you
you've got that next wave of players ready to take
the mantle. And as we've watched in this World Cup

(10:26):
through the first week, there are a lot of flaws
on these team. There's nothing perfect. There's a lot of
lot of gaps, a lot of opportunities. Some of your
top teams watching Sweden struggle the other night. Yeah, I
was up in the middle of the night watching.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Oh look at you. You're listening to Abbad.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Well I'm trying to figure out my trip.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
How do I get London and ab a voyage in
to go with that, and Taylor in Ireland. So we're
working on I mean, look, it's gonna take a lot
to come together. It's gonna to require your help, Smith,
just because you know I need that emotional buttress h there.
But it's it's an exciting, exciting time right for the

(11:13):
US and that even though you see some flaws, but
you see some other new heroes emerging and opportunity is there.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I'm just picturing you like geeky Palmer in Nope when
she's listening to music, he's got the drink and she's
dancing in the living room by herself. I'm just picturing
you doing that, lady, for the Sweden game to come
up completely on behind you. I've tried to explain that
to folks. I walk around Hollywood saying what's your dream?

Speaker 4 (11:38):
I'm that guy.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Look at the guy in purple shorts and no shirt,
just dancing in his living room with abba on. You
don't knock on the door, don't let let him, let
him do his thing, Let him do his thing.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
Well, it's either that or I mean, look, it's better
than that other song I could be playing while dancing
alone in a.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
In a room.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Mister Harmon, mister Harmon. Could you close your curtains please?
Everybody can see you. I look across the street. Can
you close your curtains?

Speaker 4 (12:01):
And then you decided to peer in.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
You wanted to show I'm not doing a Buffalo Bill,
you know kind of dance around.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
I had a.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Feeling you were doing the silence of the lenin.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Who does that? Dad?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Nobody does that dance. Nobody does that. Mike Smith wants
all that smoke, but he does clearly you don't want
Buffalo Bill smoke. Man, Come on, dude, it's a it's
It's enough to know there are probably aliens walking around
us right now. There could be scrolls in this studio
right now. We've got that hearing of Capitol Hill today.
Aliens around us now, I'd love me. Okay, your Buffalo

(12:34):
Bill is a little too close to your Keanu Reeves
not at all.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
No, Yeah, no, no, no, no, he was down a
couple of red deeper and deeper, way way down, like
he was in office.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Now, hang on, gimme your buffalo Bill, would you love me? Okay?
Now give me your Keanu Reeves. I've never heard of bill.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
See too close. No, that's actually good. No, it's not.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
I was good.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
It's too close.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
They were both very good.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
It's too close. It's too close. I don't think so.
Now it's trust me. It's very close. Don't they say
acting you're always just on the line, not when it's
two different people. I mean, you're that's just what you know.
It's not like Frank Caliendo does a John Madden impression
and it sounds just like another impression. No, it sounds
different from everybody.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Does he do anything new?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
That's how it's how it works. You got your pression, kid,
it's gotta be gotta a little different. It was when
it puts the lotion in the basket. Now gin me
Kianu Reeves?

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Is that none? That so? Kylo Wren? No, you are
just so versatile. You're so versatile, tight scher, you didn't
even know it.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
You can't do it's either you can it can it
can fall for either kenu Orkilo or Buffalo Bill. No,
it's gotta be just a way to make one character
in multitude.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
It's a multiverse with one character.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
When when Jay Farr does his Denzel washing as a
driver's instructor, you got your outside mirriagin. But it doesn't
sound like any other one. It sounds just like Denzel
being a driving constudy. That shows the level of degree
of power I have in my voice acting. See right there,
it's sounds too much like keanery that it did, right,
Dave felt you went into it without even knowing it,
not at all. I bet you go home in your mops.

(14:06):
Just how is Worke today? Work? Today was fine?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Well?

Speaker 5 (14:10):
He changes into a black suit before he walks over there,
bullet proof black suit.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
I pushed a button.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
Grabs a little bit of soot, rubs it on his face,
and he's ready to go.

Speaker 2 (14:23):

But Aaron Rodgers gave back thirty three million dollars to

(15:15):
stay a jet. Rogers Rogers, no one stay it he ever,
he wants to be a jet so bad. This never happens.
I never get this good fortune too much.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Nice things for you.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Joining Mike and I now on the hotline to break
it all down. He is a longtime NFL insider. You
can see him on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.
He is a Hall of very good voter.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Jay.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Call what's happening, buddy? How are you?

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Here's the question? If Rogers wins the Super Bowl? Right?
Got on, Jez, go on, go on, go on, please
goes and goes into the Hall of what would you
calls that?

Speaker 1 (16:01):
No, there's a new one just for him. When you
win the super Bowl with the Jets, you.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
It's the Dion Sanders rule. If you ye.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
You're in with the Jets, you got they create a
whole new one just for you.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
When you're a Jet, you have your own hall of fame.
Oh my, that's the worst shown. Oh my god, you're
just gonna You're just gonna be ridiculous, aren't you, because
because Whatdy Johnson needed needed the help.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
I just I'm stunned. Yeah, I've been a Jet fan
for my entirely. You we're going on like fifty years
of being a Jet fan, and we don't have a problem.
We don't kind of luck. Nobody says we want to
be a jet like this. Nobody gives back thirty three
million to be a jet for longer. This doesn't happen.
I'm like, eventually something's in I'm gonna feel like I'm
gonna I'm gonna find it. I'm in an alternate reality.

(16:54):
I'm getting punked. Something's gonna happen. I'm gonna go, oh no,
you don't really have Aaron Rodgers. This is this is
a whole joke. He's actually gonn be back with the Packers.
You're getting Jordan Love. I mean, I really feel the other.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
What's going to happen is on the opening day, Zach
Wilson will come out in an eighth jersey and he'll
actually be playing starting it'll say Rogers, but it'll be
Zach Wilson in there. He'll take his helmet off and
go I'm back.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Now, No, in a tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
Did did Darkness retreat like reprogram him where he needed
to be a tourist to be included? And this includes
changing up the numbers on this contract to make it
really seem friendly and helpful.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
I mean, I don't know, I don't know, like there's
something going on here where I mean that money. This
is not just a give back, Okay, There's there's something
else that goes with this. And we just haven't seen
the fine prend or know what the agreement is or
any of that kind of stuff to know what's going

(18:01):
on to to to understand, okay, how is this going
to work for Rogers benefit? Now, he does get a
large amount of leverage for next year because his cap
number is so big, right, so next year they're going
to have this for ominous number. And so the question is,

(18:24):
at that point does he come back to him and say, Okay,
now I get the five year deal, whereas you give
me all that money back and you know, plus a,
you know, plus more, you know, like that could be
what works out in this where he gets the big
payment that you know back end and then and they
spread all the money out. But you know, who knows.

(18:46):
I'm just really curious what is the game here? What
there has to be something for Rogers to be willing
to do. I'm not saying that he's going to get
the entire thirty three million dollars. He may be doing
this for a you know, for a specific reason, but
he's going to get something out of it. I mean,
you just don't. You don't give away money like that
without having some you know, some motive on the back

(19:08):
side of this.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Well, he's going to get the super Bowl. He's going
to be a Super Bowl champion once or twice. He's
gonna that's going to be the trade off.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
It's almost as bad as when I used to cover
Dolphins games and have to go cover Jets, you know,
cover games in New York's just the lunacy, Like you're
here in the parking lot, just like so yeah, so
but we're making the super and you see everybody, you
see fireman ed and all, you know, and them parcels come.
It's just, you know, it was just so dumb.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I want you, I want you to say, because I
know how you feel. You tell me the Jets are
a super Bowl team. I know you agree with me.
I know you agree with me.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I I might agree with you on the weekend of
the AFC Championship.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Between now and then.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Look with coach Rogers, because with coach Rogers, coach Rogers
running the show for Robert Sala, I think they they
have a really good chance that you know, they have
the fourth best quarterback and you know, one of the

(20:24):
top four quarterbacks. I should say that they have one
of the top four quarterbacks in the league. Right, So
if you have one of the top four quarterbacks in
the league, and you have a good defense that they did,
and assuming the running back comes back, and again Jarrett
Wilson's the stud, you know, assuming all that lines up,
yeah they should they should make the playoffs and be there. Now.
The division is the toughest one in the league from

(20:48):
top to bottom. It's going to be balanced. And so
do they make Do they win ten games to get
themselves into the playoffs and then have to make a run?
Who knows?

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Fourteen fourteen three?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Fortune?

Speaker 1 (21:01):
We win the first fourteen, we clinch home field, and
we lose the last three because we sent rogers for
the three games.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
I oh, god, this is my life for the next
six months here.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Cole, oh yours and mine? God? Yeah, well I can't,
can't you. I've had me come on a Friday when
you take one of your days off, you know, every Friday. No,
I agree, I'm like moving on. Uh you play the
theme song. I'm feeling better about myself and now I

(21:32):
gotta deal with best like it's it's just bad karma.
It's such. I mean, this happens to me all the time.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Let me ask you this. You have other offers. You
have other offers of people who would have put you
on the air and let your takes loose on the nation.
Come on, man, we help you out, are we?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
There are people around the country who are starved for
cowboy dudes. They want more cowboys.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Okay, I gotta have it.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
I don't description.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
He's down there right now, he's down there. He's bringing
the hives. They imparted the hives that brought him from
all their prey from Texas. Special have the only built
in San Antone because you know San anton is a
big cowboy town too, cowboy bee town, right, and they'll
get some special honey down that riverwalk thing that they
got there going. Yeah, it's almost it's like Venice met Texas.

(22:22):
I know that's what it is. Yeah, that's what it's like.
We just put those little gondola or gondoli or whatever
those things are, We'll put those on the riverwalk. It'd be beautiful.
That's my thought right there. And then you have the bees.
They just chased the gondolos around. It's just fantastic. What
a ride.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
I want to see this pitch made in ox Ard.
Can we meet up there, I'll bring you right hey,
quarterback a big hit my homes and Kirk Cousins. Everybody
suddenly loves Kirk Cousins. And then we have Marcus Mariota
and I have multiple quarterbacks, including Justin Field saying yeah, no,
I'm good. I don't need that around. Are they gonna

(23:01):
have trouble? I mean, they've already got the season two casks,
including Aaron Rodgers. But why would guys and teams turn
this away?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
I mean, look, I mean this wasn't all good. Like,
weren't there moments where you looked at Kirk Cousins when
he's putting that thing on his brain and going, yeah,
you're kind of a lunatic, Like we're showing you're really
out there. Like I'm not sure guys really want that necessarily.

(23:32):
It is a lot of work, Like you knew that
there was a problem casting this and getting guys encouraged.
When Peyton Manning has to say right off the bat,
I don't want to hear anything about how this is
a distraction, right, Like that meant that he was already
hearing from plenty of guys. Yeah that's not really for me,
like talking about I don't want to be my personal

(23:53):
life invaded that much. I can see where a lot
of guys would sit there and go, now, yeah, I
pass on this one. Now, Mahomes did it because Mahomes is,
you know, is a really good dude, and you know,
and wanted to prop up his brand a little bit
more and it worked out perfectly. But again, the Kirk
Cousins stuff doesn't look so great, and then Marcus Mariota

(24:14):
stuff to me doesn't really I don't think he came
off looking all that great in those times.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
I just feel bad for the guy. Like I watched
Kirk Cousins and I go, boy, he's he's he's he's weird,
he's a little awkward, he's much more regular than you
think he is. And Mariota, I kept going, dude, I
just feel so bad because I know how it's going
to end. I know this is awful, and I just
felt so bad the entire time. I mean, I like
the window that we got for all three guys. Right,

(24:41):
Like Mahomes, I thought was exactly he's exactly during the
game how I thought he would. Well, he curses a
lot more than thought he does. He does curse a
lot more, but he during the game, It's how I
thought he would. Yeah, But I kind of like the
window for Kirk Cousins having the hit the hidden room
in his house with all the with all the memorabilia

(25:02):
from all his games. I like that it's like in
this hidden room behind the staircase where I keep all
my memorabilia.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Yeah, he's just a little like like you know that
his dad has probably had a lot of effect on him.
And and for anybody who doesn't know anything about Kirk
cousins dad, you're going to have to research that one
a little bit myself, but or yourself not I'm not

(25:33):
going to tell the whole story, but yeah, there's something
about Kirk Cousins where you go, he's a little touched,
just a little touched. Although you know, look, I I
the whole thing with it with the chains, I could,
I'll give Kirk Cousins credit like that was one of
the greatest things from last season when he was when

(25:54):
he was knowing Barchester with the chains on the plane,
that was what. That was awesome I got. I gotta givehim.
Other than that, you.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Got to get his value there. Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
What if they what if they did? You know, what
if Peyton Manny wanted to do Insider, would you be
like would they follow you around? Would you be one
of the insiders, like you know, you and a couple
other guys for a whole season And don't tell me
a distraction. Don't tell me be a distraction.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
It wouldn't be a distraction, right, Don't tell me, don't
don't give me that phrase. If Peyton was one of
the guys who was supposed to be followed around, Is
that what you're trying to say?

Speaker 4 (26:26):
No, No, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
You were being followed around, suttle around, Glazier and Schefter
and you for a whole year.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Oh my god, call.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
It insider, and they call it insider.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Would they watch me when I'm in like shorts and
a T shirt doing this show?

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Sure they wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (26:42):
This is the life one outsider right here?

Speaker 3 (26:45):
This is Yeah, this is the life we've chosen.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Hall of Fame voter, Hall of very good voter. Sorry,
oh no, I know how all these very good.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Players get in the watching Schefter text on two different phones.
You know. Look, I like at him a lot, but
all he does is work on two phones. That's all
he does. He he doesn't really, he doesn't go anywhere.
That's the funny part about Chefter other than the travel
floor you know TV, you know, for when he has

(27:12):
to go on location for TV shows. Like, there's nothing
really going on in Schefter's life because he doesn't want
to spend any time on a plane that he doesn't
have to like, people don't really understand that. Now Glazier's life.
Glazier's life could be kind of interesting that that one.
I'd see mine totally blant because I'm just sitting here

(27:35):
thinking about cowboys bees all the time. I mean, that's
really all I do now.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
But we need somebody to be.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
And I watched Jeffer I watched Jefferson's re runs. You know,
like that's what I'm doing. You know, that's my That's
the entirety of my life.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
It would be the time lapse of you and to
show you the same from morning till night. And would
the time life of all Jefferson's that was thrown a beard.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Yeah, I think Sherman Hem'sy die in Texas. I'm not
guess that Sherman Hemsley might have been killed by cowboy beats.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
Oh wow, I have escalated. He did die in El Paso, Texas. Wow,
he died.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Yeah, Jerry was after him. This is this is the
kind of conspiracy theory I'm picking those.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
What do you think of the revelation about UFOs and aliens.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
From earlier today? With the government all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
We got aliens now, j colet, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
Well could you bet? Jerry's like, how do I sell
them season tickets.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
The out of town or discount. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
We have we have, we have a special place for
aliens to watch. It's actually above the stadium. I will
I will sell you the air above the stadium that
you can watch the games from.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Rather, that's the perfect seat for you. And it's like
the overhead camera's on the All twenty two films. It's
perfect for you. It's it's absolutely perfect. And I will
only charge you in whatever gazillions of dollars you are.
And like Jerry would probably dress up like the Great
Kazoo from the Jetsams or something.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
He is just like Karon Rodgers already did he is, right.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Yeah, that's not bad. That's the best impersonation you do,
by far. It's actually probably the only real one that
you do.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Oh no, no, my Brad Childress is really good. Yeah,
I do eat my Brad Childress one day.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
He's done Brad Schilders for me before any here. But
here is the thing. Brad Children's hasn't been a coach
in the league for a decade right now, and you're
and you're holding off holding on to brad children, just.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Like you're holding over the Hall of Fame voter, you're
barely holding.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
I'm well, yeah, but I'm still there. And oh, big
news coming out tomorrow. They're going to announce the twelve,
the twelve A Senior candidates and the twelve the twelve
contributor candidates. I'm alert for that, yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
The next round.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
But you can't tell us any of them, right, So
I mean wow, So I mean.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
I'm sworn to secrecy.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
No you're not. No, you're not imported us.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Noorant let me. I will read you the statement. This
is this.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Is in Dirty Miserable rats at this part. If you
go on that show and you get up the part.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Why do we get warn because of Jason Cole, don't
even application.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Of any of the names is strictly embarged until one
oh five Eastern time Thursday for entheses, July twenty seven,
when the Hall makes it the announcement. That's straight from
the release that I received today. So I would never
ever reveal any of those names, or you know, even

(30:57):
even give clues, you know, like whether somebody's name rhyme
with Shane McClanahan or something like that.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yeah, Shane mcclan is actually a player.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I think, yes he is. He's a pitcher.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Okay, Mike Shanahan going into the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
God it, I didn't say. I did not say that
Mike Shannon was going into the Hall of Fame. I
did not say that. They're not announcing. They're not announcing
who's going on. So there we go. Maybe we're they're
announcing the twelve people who are the semi finalists as contributors.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Maybe for the last time as a Pro Football Hall
of Fame voter. It's Jason Cole. He's on Twitter at
Jason Call sixty two.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Thanks a lot, buddy, We'll talk to you next week later,
Bye bye, buddy.

Speaker 2 (31:44):

(32:12):
the US Women's game coming up in a few nits
more from the NFL. But if you were looking for show,
hey Otani hit this trade deadline, well chances are you're
not going to get them. According to many reports, the
Angels have pulled Otani from the trade market. They're going
to finish the season with him as they go forward

(32:32):
and try to qualify for the playoffs. The number one
thing this tells you, Mike is now he can go
right from the Angels at the end of the season,
right up to the Dodgers. Doesn't have to stop anywhere
in between. I'm gonna go here for a couple of months.
Time you go right from the Angels, I go right
up the five and right to Los Angeles. For the Dodgers,
I can shake hands with Mookie Bets again at second base,
and I can go right there right after the season's over.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Might have something, might be onto something there, But certainly
for the Angels, it plays in line with a lot
of of what we've been talking about. They've been playing
good baseball as well. As much as Otani struggled on
the mound, they've been able to get things right here.
As we head towards the deadline, a bit of a surge.
Curious to see if they actually try to make an

(33:14):
addition or two along the way. But between the business
side of it that we've discussed at length here on
the show, Jason and still being you know, having a
puncher's chance, right, the the mantra of sports anymore is
do you have a chance to get into the playoffs?
Because once we're there, it's a war of attrition and
who the hell knows who's left right, get hot, have

(33:36):
a big week, and all of a sudden you're playing
for big cash and prizes. So yeah, you right it
out the final couple of months, and then it really
gets interesting as to how many suitors come to the
table and what their.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Best pitches will be.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
Will we get you know, the giant billboards outside of stadiums?
Remember when the Bulls hosted Carmelo Anthony.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Oh sure here we are, Come on, you want to
come here?

Speaker 5 (34:01):
You go on your your free agency tour? Or does
he just go hang out in Seattle with I tro
just I got no interest in being part of it.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
You know, here's the most interesting part to me with
Sho Hayes. Now suddenly the angels didn't know what to do,
and there were reports of tension in the organization. Uh
with Arti Marino what he could be doing to trade show?
Hey o Tani. Now, I'm just throwing this out there
because I think there's, you know, to try to connect
between the tension and now they've pulled them off the
trade market. I would I would bet that something happened

(34:34):
behind closed doors that resulted in Otani saying I don't
want to go. I'm gonna stay here for the rout.
I'll stay here for the rest of the year. Then
I'm gonna be a free agent. Well you know, and
the angel said okay, but behind you know, behind closed doors,
you don't know why. I mean really, because if he
really didn't want to be traded, he probably would have
said so beforehand. We would know Otani's not in the

(34:56):
trade market. The fact that Arti Marino was talking about
it and hey, do we trade him? That's a big question.
But I would bet, I would bet you that there
is a very recent conversation said, you know what, it's
just not going to be worth it. I don't know
if I want to go someplace for two months wherever
it's going to be. I'm just I'm comfortable here. I
walk to work, you know, I walk to the stadium
every day. I want to finish here for two months

(35:17):
and then figure out what's going on after that. I'm
just not ready for it. In the Angel Okay, great,
we'll pull you off and we'll keep you for the
next couple of months. So I wouldn't be surprised if
that's how it all shook out.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Well, and as we get to the second half of
the show, we have the Angels have done exactly what
I thought they might. There is a deal in place,
and it may involve my teams.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Smith, we got that coming up next. The Dodger's not
the only team making big moves today. I mean, you know,
getting on Ed Rosario absolutely for free, basically, I mean
for Cindergard basically for free. We have all that and
more coming up next. Keep it right here, Jason Smith,
Mike Harmon, you are listening to Fox Sports Radio.
