that game, they couldn't get the go ahead goal the US.

I mean all of these seventy thousand seat NFL stadiums,
that's what they're going for. Because when the US hosted
the Men's World Cup in nineteen ninety four with the
final at the Rose Bowl, they set the attendance record
for FIFA because we get you know, first off, the
makeup of the United States and the World Cup was
ridiculously popular, but they put them in NFL stadiums or
NFL size stadiums like the Rose Bowl, and we just

blew away the attendance records. The odd thing now is
we're going to go in all these NFL stadiums and
I literally don't think there's one stadium from the ninety
four tournament that's being used in the next World Cup
that's in the US in twenty twenty six. Literally all
different because like the Rams Stadium didn't exist in the
Cowboys Stadium, didn't exist there in the forty nine Ers,
in the Eagles. These are all new stadiums, the Giants

Jets Stadium.

Also, can you look up the address of the stadium
that the United States is playing in tonight against Portugal.

about this and I've been nervous in the beginning of
the tournament. And Megan Rapino's uh desire to play, I
would say statement that she made following the game against Netherlands.

Yeah, just getting Roose level in, which, hey, that's great
getting Rose level because you saw the difference that made

Normally a starter hasn't been starting because of injury. Yeah,
and she's got to get her win back and everything.
But this is how you deal with with the World Cup.
Sometimes it's not perfect, but something's just been off with
the United States since the beginning, and a lot of
it is you can explain it away as you have
new players that are trying to fit in and you're
worried about players like Sophia Smith, who has looked okay

at times, players like Trinity Rodman, who looks like hey
can be a better finisher.

Maybe a little bit too much for her and maybe
less minutes for her, players like Lindsay Horan stepping up
into the moment. But the two biggest questions I had,
who's going to score? Because Megan Rapino's not going to
get minutes and Alex Morgan. I don't know if she's
still an elite level scoring. You saw the first two games.
Alex Morgan has not been good.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
She's not been as good this year as she was
last year. She was great last year in the women's league.
Not as much now. And I'm not saying she's old
and finished. It's kind of like our Verlander conversation. He
can still pitch. He's still very good.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
She needs to be that elite level Golden boot types.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
They are demanding that she is because they didn't have
a backup for her on the roster, so thank you.
They are missing four injured players.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Mia Ham, so you know she's still the backup.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
You know, I wouldn't mind seeing her out there eightieth minute, honestly,
but four of the players the US missing are scores.
They've been missing Kristin Press with multiple knee surgeries the
past year. There is your finisher. There is somebody who
comes off the bench in the second half and can
get you a goal, or or Mallory Swanson was having
a great season. Unfortunately knee injury. She's done. Sam US
(11:17):
hasn't been seeing Katerina Macario with the serious injury. They
don't have their veteran defender of many many years, Becky
Sowerbrun because of a foot injury. Yes, England's missing a
lot of injured players. The US missing these five injured players.
Scoring has been a problem for months for the Americans,
And because of that, I was a little skittish about
their chances going into this tournament. Not that they can't

win it. They're deep, they're talented, but it's not the
same type of US team we've been used.

And here's the big domino that falls that tells you
this is not that team. At the end of your

They're trying to get used to new players, players who
were getting not used to the pressure of a World Cup,

get Meghan Rapino in a very nice way this weekend
saying hey, you need to put me in the game
against the Netherlands. She said, I thought I could have helped,
and she went on to make a very it's one
of the nicest you need to put me in demands
I've ever seen.

Hey, so it was not terallege.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
This wasn't you put me in that game? Now, this
was every player who's a sub thinks they should be
playing and wants to play and start. Every starter wants
to play every single minute and not come out of
the game. This is how champions are, do you know?
Very nicely, but she made no no.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Made no bones about it.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Did leave anything out to interpretation by saying I could
have helped, And I don't know why they didn't put
her in the game in the last ten minutes at least,
when the United States have been dominating possession and her
coming into the game with all the set pieces she
would change that game. She gives the United States more
confidence and gives the Netherlands another player to look out for.
It was stunning that she didn't come into the game,

and Anofsky said, nobody else were we like, what was
going on? You weren't finishing, You had one of them,
you had the Golden Pool winner from four years ago. No,
you're not going to the game. Something is up. And
I'm not saying it's a relationship thing where someone's not
getting along with somebody else, or there's there's a big
rift or a schism going on, but something's just not
(13:26):
the same with Team USA. It's just it's just I
don't get the same we're all on the same page,
all for one, like I've gotten for the past eight
or ten years now. Obviously we've been spoiled. Yeah, because
these were a special group of women who played that
are all big time superstars, the best players in the world.
You would think that would continue, but it's just not.
And that's why I'm nervous because I've not seen that

from them. I've not seen any of Hey, we're ready
to start stepping up and going to kick ass. Now.
I see a team that can win, but can easily
get knocked out in the knockout round because other teams
can play them for a draw and get to penalties.
Because the United States has trouble scoring, I can see
another team scoring early and suddenly the United States defense
is on its seals, and sudden, we're gonna park the bus.
(14:09):
I don't know why the Netherlands didn't do that. Hey
we're up nothing, let's park the bus and maybe we
knocked the United States out of the bleeping tournament instead.
They allowed the United States to have a lot of
possession in the second half that create a lot of chances.
I don't understand that they need to have a different
strategy in the second half or once they got up
one nothing, but that's what could happen to them in
the knockout round. They are extremely vulnerable. I've never felt
(14:29):
good about them into this tournament.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Round of sixteen starts this coming weekend. You mentioned the youth.
There are twenty three players on a roster. Only nine
were on the World Cup champions from four years ago.
The rest have never been in a World Cup before.
So that includes like off the bench, Alyssa Thompson, the
teenager from la who was in the women's League, the
number one overall pick this past year. Lynn Williams is
a good score and could have been an option off
(14:54):
the bench. And you're right that the coach probably said,
we're finally playing thirty good minutes here, let's keep it good.
But the bottom line is you didn't go ahead. Nobody
finished after the Haran goal to make it one to
one about sixty minutes in. Nobody else scored the last
thirty minutes, and that's why you're in a lose and
go home situation for tonight against Portugal.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Everything is different. The World Cup is different, the pressure,
everything hits differently, and the United States has seen it. And
I mean, I'm nervous. I feel okay about Portugal tonight.
I feel okay.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yeah, they're not ranked in the top twenty.

But going on knockout route, yeah, that's what That's when
I start to get really nervous.

You know. You could have given me this advice, like

mess when Mike's when my teams first started being any good.
I had a long time and my team's sucking, and
it was like, I gotta worry. I just liked it there.
I just liked that the team is on the field
together and they are doing something together with each other.

That's what they all still stink. And that's been really
the first two segments of most any show for the
past five months of it.

And then I learned about what it means to be
good and all this stuff. I tell you because the Mets. Look,
the Mets were terrible for so long when I was
my and I love baseball, But when I started with
nineteen seventy four. You know, the Mets were in the
World Series a year before, but they had a bad
seventy four sive six. They made trades. Ever, they barely
got in the playoffs. Back then it was seventy three.
It was twelve years until the Mets were good. But

when I first started watching football, right around the early eighties,
the Jets were good, and the final two minutes of games,
it was like, Oh, you're todd. This is what Wesley Walker,
this is what sports stress is like, because it's like,
oh my god, the final two minutes and it's fourth down,
and I still get this feeling when it's fourth down
in the game, It's.

Like, this is the world is endache final minutes. And

have one of the top wide receivers in the NFL
and Garrett Wilson. You have guys that Aaron Rodgers is

he went on to take a swipe at the Jets. Well,

they tried to win the off season. I'm sorry the
Jets weren't supposed to try to get Aaron Rodgers. We're
supposed to going with Zach. Wilson again also said I
know what happens with hard knocks. The Jets are being
made to do hard knocks whatever.

Any team that did it this year would have been
being made to do it.

He decides, I'm going to light up everybody that had
anything to do with the Broncos last year, and I'm
gonna go out of my way to take a big
side swipe at the Jets. When Robin then blame it
on focks, right, Oh, I should have had my Fox
ID five. That's odds. That's my problem. So Robert Sola,
the Jets head coaches, asked about it, and he gives
a kind of a fun Hey, if they ain't hating
on you, you know, if they're hating on you doing

something right right like that was all, hey, great and
it goes a legend. But then Aaron Rodgers this week
and decided, oh no, no, I'm not letting this pass and
I'm gonna make sure this leads hard knocks. This was
Aaron Rodgers about his response to Sean Payton's comments, and
as you can tell, Aaron Rodgers going full Will Smith,
wanting Sean Payton to never say anything about Robert Sala

or the Jets again. Yeah.

I love Nathaniel Hackett and those comments were very surprising
for a coach to do that to another coach. My
levet fract goes deep. You know, we had some great
years together in Green Bay, kept in touch, love him
and his family. He's an incredible family man, incredible dad,
and on the field, you know, he's arguably my favorite
coach I've ever had in the NFL. Just his approach
(24:45):
to it, how he makes it fun, how he cares
about the guys, just how he goes about his business
with respect, with leadership, with honesty, with integrity. And it
made me feel bad that someone who's accomplished a lot
in the league is that I didn't secure that they
have to take another man down to set themselves up
for some sort of easy fall if it doesn't go

well for that team this year. I thought it was
way out of line, inappropriate, and I think he needs
to keep my coach's names out of his mouth.

Keep my coach's name. Aaron Rodgers must listen to the show,
because that's very, very close to when I said, Hey,
you know the fact that Sean Payton is saying this,
You don't say this if you're confident in the team
you're having. You're saying this if you are getting out
in front of something. Hey, when we stink this year,
I changed everything, just so you know I changed at all,

because what Sean Payton's comments are like things you get
from a coach who when they're in year three and
they're not winning, and it's like, hey, don't fire me
because you know things are really bad. When I came in,
I didn't tell you, but things were even worse than
I expected. When I came in three years ago and
we had spent a lot of time getting stink was
on everybody.

Yeah, but that response from Rogers there that you just
played it had everything but the slab.

Yeah, it was. It was fantastic because here's Aaron Roddy again.
Is if the Jets couldn't love him more again? It

Jets fans are stealing the stake from it.

doing and he is now making himself and turning himself
into the team's leader. He's been there a half second

and the players love me. He's like the pied piper
and he's leading in every single way he can. These
things don't happen to the Jets. They just don't. I
know that something's going to happen bad because that's just
how it goes. That's not waiting. I'm waiting. I know
what's it gonna be. What's again, We're gonna find out
Aaron Rodgers isn't really a Jet. Ah, we we fooled you.

Yeah a week ago you can. You can have cameras

because he wanted the brand of New York and he
wanted to be in the biggest city and he wanted
to be the biggest star because he is. And that's
why he chose the Jets. He wanted to be a

Jet because they had an opening. If the Giants had
the quarterback opening, he would say, I want to be
a Giant. If if if Daniel Jones stunk last year
and they were looking to move on and they didn't
have a quarterback in mind, Aaron Rodgers would say, it's
my intention to go play for the New York Giants. Now,
that would have made it trade a lot more.

And then the Giants played the Jets this year.

I knew it would, but that would have made a
trade tougher because you know, I don't want to trade
him within the conference. But if that's where I want
to go, it would have gotten done. He wanted the
brand of New York and he got it. And that's

of Hey, I'm here and I'm gonna help you guys
get to a super Bowl, but I'm gonna want other things.

ridiculously popular, but they put them in NFL stadiums or
NFL size stadiums like the Rose Bowl, and we just

blew away the attendance records. The odd thing now is
we're going to go in all these NFL stadiums and

four tournament that's being used in the next World Cup
that's in the US in twenty twenty six. Literally all

Cowboys Stadium, didn't exist there in the forty nine Ers,

of the nicest you need to put me in demands

This wasn't you put me in that game? Now, this
was every player who's a sub thinks they should be
playing and wants to play and start. Every starter wants
to play every single minute and not come out of

Did leave anything out to interpretation by saying I could
have helped, And I don't know why they didn't put

the same with Team USA. It's just it's just I
don't get the same we're all on the same page,
all for one, like I've gotten for the past eight
or ten years now. Obviously we've been spoiled. Yeah, because
these were a special group of women who played that
are all big time superstars, the best players in the world.
You would think that would continue, but it's just not.
And that's why I'm nervous because I've not seen that

from them. I've not seen any of Hey, we're ready
to start stepping up and going to kick ass. Now.
I see a team that can win, but can easily
get knocked out in the knockout round because other teams
can play them for a draw and get to penalties.
Because the United States has trouble scoring, I can see
another team scoring early and suddenly the United States defense
is on its seals, and sudden, we're gonna park the bus.

I don't know why the Netherlands didn't do that. Hey
we're up nothing, let's park the bus and maybe we
knocked the United States out of the bleeping tournament instead.
They allowed the United States to have a lot of
possession in the second half that create a lot of chances.
I don't understand that they need to have a different
strategy in the second half or once they got up
one nothing, but that's what could happen to them in
the knockout round. They are extremely vulnerable. I've never felt

good about them into this tournament.

Round of sixteen starts this coming weekend. You mentioned the youth.
There are twenty three players on a roster. Only nine
were on the World Cup champions from four years ago.
The rest have never been in a World Cup before.
So that includes like off the bench, Alyssa Thompson, the
teenager from la who was in the women's League, the
number one overall pick this past year. Lynn Williams is
a good score and could have been an option off

the bench. And you're right that the coach probably said,
we're finally playing thirty good minutes here, let's keep it good.
But the bottom line is you didn't go ahead. Nobody
finished after the Haran goal to make it one to
one about sixty minutes in. Nobody else scored the last
thirty minutes, and that's why you're in a lose and
go home situation for tonight against Portugal.

Everything is different. The World Cup is different, the pressure,
everything hits differently, and the United States has seen it. And
I mean, I'm nervous. I feel okay about Portugal tonight.

coach terribly. It was doing things differently this year. Then
he went on to take a swipe at the Jets. Well,

they tried to win the off season. I'm sorry the
Jets weren't supposed to try to get Aaron Rodgers. We're
supposed to going with Zach. Wilson again also said I
know what happens with hard knocks. The Jets are being
made to do hard knocks whatever.

Any team that did it this year would have been
being made to do it.

He decides, I'm going to light up everybody that had
anything to do with the Broncos last year, and I'm
gonna go out of my way to take a big
side swipe at the Jets. When Robin then blame it
on focks, right, Oh, I should have had my Fox
ID five. That's odds. That's my problem. So Robert Sola,
the Jets head coaches, asked about it, and he gives
a kind of a fun Hey, if they ain't hating
on you, you know, if they're hating on you doing

something right right like that was all, hey, great and
it goes a legend. But then Aaron Rodgers this week
and decided, oh no, no, I'm not letting this pass and
I'm gonna make sure this leads hard knocks. This was
Aaron Rodgers about his response to Sean Payton's comments, and
as you can tell, Aaron Rodgers going full Will Smith,
wanting Sean Payton to never say anything about Robert Sala

I love Nathaniel Hackett and those comments were very surprising
for a coach to do that to another coach. My
levet fract goes deep. You know, we had some great
years together in Green Bay, kept in touch, love him
and his family. He's an incredible family man, incredible dad,
and on the field, you know, he's arguably my favorite
coach I've ever had in the NFL. Just his approach

to it, how he makes it fun, how he cares
about the guys, just how he goes about his business
with respect, with leadership, with honesty, with integrity. And it
made me feel bad that someone who's accomplished a lot
in the league is that I didn't secure that they
have to take another man down to set themselves up

well for that team this year. I thought it was
way out of line, inappropriate, and I think he needs
to keep my coach's names out of his mouth.

You don't say this if you're confident in the team
you're having. You're saying this if you are getting out

because what Sean Payton's comments are like things you get
from a coach who when they're in year three and
they're not winning, and it's like, hey, don't fire me
