(00:48):
Bold prediction coming off the first weekend of college football.
Jason Lockinfour is gonna stop by NFL Insider with the
latest on Arizona tanking. Allegedly sorry, allegedly allegedly.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, you can't put that on, Tim just because they're
trying to undo anything.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Steve Kime touch what's next for Jonathan Taylor the real
reason behind the Lance trade and the Jets and Aaron Rodgers,
who finally plays looks great, gets out of the game healthy,
and I'll be honest. You think he's finally gonna come
to your side. You're looking for it. No, No, he's
going down the road of this is gonna blow up.

(01:24):
Aaron Rodgers is no good. He's gonna stick with that.
But watching the game Saturday, I was exactly how I
told you I was gonna watch it. I was nervous
every play. I wanted it to just be okay. Now
you think, oh, Jason, you were okay after he threw
the touchdown he came out of the game. No, I
mean I like that he threw a touchdown. I like
that you let him down that through a touchdown. I
was okay, Like midway through the third quarter, Oka, once

(01:46):
you knew he was Yeah, because what I'm worried about
because it's Jet it's the Jets, you know. Is like
a WPIX sideline reporter saying, hey, we got word down here.
Aaron Rodgers didn't come out of the game after the
touchdown passed because his night was done. He was feeling
tightness in both calves. He's being worked on right now,
because that would be something that comes up in the
second quarter after halftime. So midway through the third quarter,

(02:08):
when I didn't hear anything, I was I'm okay, he's good.
We're rolling to the bills on September eleventh, buddy, we
are ready. No good for you.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I was a little more nervous because he was still
on the sidelines, which meant unless he was in a
Richard Dreyfus like shark tank in the cage like in
the original Jaws, even then, I couldn't trust it.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Someone could get through that. Oh look at that, ah,
the running back Bulls over Rogers who was standing too
close to the sideline with his back turned. You don't know, no, no, no, no, no,
all right.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
He's waving to a fan in the third row. That
kept going, Rogers.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Waving the Mallory Edens. Hey, You like, like, hey, how
you go look at that? Now that's reignited. Sorry say hey,
sorry too soon, just got double check too soon. They
had twelve years together there. It was a hell of
a run. Twelve years. Discout no, no, no, no. But
in terms of his relationship with the company over all, oh, okay, okay, okay,

(03:04):
like those ads were a couple of years, but I
guess he had a twelve year relationship.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Well a lot of local stuff would be my guess.
And then they went national and there you go.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Because I'm sinking discount double check is not no no, no,
no no no.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Did you see the belts today? Did you order your
jets belt? I did not the WWE NFL co branded belt.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I'd get that. A bunch of teams sold out like
people were freaking out. They make the.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Jaguarske the Jaguars like people bought them.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I'm sure I'll see it on Hard Knocks tomorrow night.
I'm sure i'll see it tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Part of me was like, we should probably, but no,
I'm not buying, like you buy one of them for
the but what do you buy? Like, yeah, just buy
a team, like if there was just a general NFL
one and then you could make removable plates. There you go,
there you go, WWE and NFL shop. I just did
just solid to where you can have the title bass

(03:57):
and then you change out the plates like they do
for the WAE and Champion, Intercontinental Champion, et cetera. We
could do that with the NFL stuff. But I mean,
you're gonna buy a jets belt. What if they suck
the belt, the or the the belt's gonna be fantastic now,
so all's gonna be really heavy. So if you want
to pile drive someone in the hallway because they missed
a sound prompt or something, sure you could take care

(04:19):
of that.

Speaker 1 (04:20):

what happened tonight? A bizarre moment that is fast becoming
the biggest viral moment of the night. The Braves beat

(04:43):
the Rockies tonight thirteen to four. However, all the drama
would happened to Brave's outfielder Ronald Lacuna. In the seventh inning,
Braves have just scored a bunch of runs take a
nine to four lead over Colorado. Acunya is in the
outfield warming up for the inning, Helfenning coming up, when
not one but two fans run on the field to

(05:03):
try to get next to him for an as then
unknown reason. Here's how it sounded unfolding on the Braves
Radio Network.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Got a commotion out in right field where a fan's
run on the field and huck Ronald Lecunya. Now Cunya
goes down and his teammates are racing to his aid.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
But I don't know that there's going to be any
need for.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
That because security has grabbed that person and pinned him
on the ground, and.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
It might be more than one. I couldn't tell if
they went out there looking to hug Ronald or a
tag run. Well, they had their arms around him.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
I know that one guy's fighting to get away and
they have to tie him down.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Goodness, this is a mess.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
They're carrying this guy off and he is fighting them
every inch of the way, heading toward the bullpens.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Now they get him down, they're gonna need to cuff
that guy. It was actually Pete Alonzo, so upset that
the Braves are winning, he had Braves Radio Network on
the call. Now here's what's bizarre about this. So the
first fan runs onto the you haven't seen it yet,
it's everywhere the first fan runs onto the field and
he runs up to Acunya and hugs him. Yeah, and

(06:14):
he pulls out his like and we saw as it
looks is he pulling out a flak. He gets his
arm up around his neck and that's exactly what he
was doing. He wanted to try to take a selfie
with Akunya. Acunya stands there, doesn't move, allows the fan
to hug him for the selfie. But before that could happen,
two security guards come in. One guy grabs the fan
around the shoulders. The other one gets really low to

(06:36):
try to like pry them apart at the knee. It
was really weird, like the one guy.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Was on a high low.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I mean, that's illegal in the NFL, So that is happening.
And at the same time they're getting this fan off.
Another fan runs onto the field to run up and
hug whatever he wants to do to Ronald Lacune. Dude
looks like he's shot out of un second and he
gets really close to Acunya bumps him. But at the

(07:01):
same time he gets there to bump Acunya, two other
security guards get there and flying tackle him. Now, Acunya
falls backwards and they tackle the fan, and Acunya gets
right up, and I want to tell you he's okay.
He actually stayed in the game. He gave thumbs up.
He batted in the ninth in and hit a three
run double. So Acuni is okay, and they take the

(07:21):
fans off. I am stunned that he's stu mean, it
was kind of a baller thing to do, but I
am really stunned that he didn't try to get out
from the fan. He didn't try to defend himself, push
him to the ground, run away. He stood there while
the first fans standing there with a phone when you
don't know what this guy's running on the field for.
And then the second guy comes knocks him over. At

(07:43):
this point, you're like, okay, Elelcuni's gonna get up and
gonna run away. Now everybody's now trying to come over
and help it, whether it's more security guards or more teammates,
and Acuna just sits there and he's looking at looking
at the guy getting and getting some duede on his left,
guy's getting a forearmed in a neck, looking at the
guy getting some dude on the right, and it's like
it's like he's a little kid like he said, I'm
just sitting here playing on the grass while dogs are

(08:05):
wrestling or something. I just gonna I'm enjoying this. It's
a it's a bizarre show. He doesn't try to get
up and get away at all, which, look, hey, I
I I understand. I don't want to take a situation
and inflame it more and running away. But there's no
way I would have stayed there if I see a
guy coming towards me, like I'm backing away somehow, I'm

(08:25):
trying to run. Now, you know, I don't run. But no,
if I'm a Kunya who's got pretty good speed, I
mean he's gonna lead the league and stolen bases. The
guy's good for ninety feet. We know that he's gonna
be a thirty eighty guy this year, or thirty five
eighty or a thirty three eighty five whatever. Every day
we get the update. So I'm pretty sure he could
have run away from the guy and and run away
and run away, because this guy's already dances a little

(08:47):
like he's a boxing r. Yeah, and and and this
guy's not getting close to him. But he stood there
and allowed him to get close and take a picture. Yes,
do I get that he reads the situation and doesn't
see any threat. Yeah, but you never know, right, And
maybe what goes through his head and I don't know,
this is part of the trappings of fame. Is that

(09:08):
is what going through his head? Is if I push
this guy or I tackle this guy, is he gonna
ssume me? If I push him down and something happens?
Can he sue me? Is this now going to be
where they sue the ballpark? You know, his family sues
the ballpark because they allowed him to run on the
field and that they didn't get their own I didn't
stop me, and they're suing me from you know, and

(09:29):
as part of this to name now, I don't know,
because I don't know what when you're a star and
stuff like this is something when people come up to
you and want things all the time, strangers. I don't
know if that's what people think. I don't know if
that's what everybody thinks. But maybe in that case it's
I'm just gonna stand. I don't see a threat. I
don't see a knife, I don't see a guy. I
don't see anything. So I'm gonna sit here, let him
take a picture, and I could see the security guards

(09:50):
on the way. That's the only thing I can think of. Now,
it's a gamble and a risk to stay there. But
maybe that's what was going on. As he said after,
I just thought the guy was there for a picture,
So maybe he was. All right. I kind of assessed
the situation like he's chasing board and like I could say,
I sense there was no in that moment I could
take him down, and I could take him down like
Carlos the Jackal in any moment.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
But well, you know he's got good eyesight by the
batting average, and you know he's hitting prowess, so he
probably was able to ascertain all right, it's a phone
coming out.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Like like you, I'm thinking, all right, I'm getting ready
to throw blows. And maybe that's the other part is
he's thinking, if it does go south, I can handle myself.
Yeah right, Maybe that I could take this gap by
me sure, I'm shast enough, sure, and my reflexes, I'll
be able to see if this is becoming a threat.
And when that second guy comes flying in though, yeah,

(10:45):
that's like the first guy, I firmly believe, Yeah, okay,
he's taking.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
A self time selfie time.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
He watched the epl and Earling Holland getting hugged by
the dude after a goal yesterday where the guy just
wouldn't let go, like it was, eh, it's.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Good to see you think, welcome back from your trip.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
That kind of aang and eventually gets ripped off by
security and taken out.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Uh and whatever happened to him? Do you think that
was coordinated? Because that's that's the next thing I'm waiting
for now now that that we heard that, he said, listen,
I just thought the guy wanted a picture, so I
was okay, was that coordinated? Where the first guy was
gonna come get a picture and then the second guy
was gonna run on and do whatever he was gonna know,
maybe tackle them whatever it was. I mean, because you
don't see two guys running on the field at the

(11:27):
same time. Once one guy runs on the field and
security is all out there, that's kind of it. Everybody's
watching the show and then that then it finishes. You
don't see too The last time he saw two guys
on the field like that was Tom Gamboa, which was
which is one of the most Which is the first
thing that I went to I saw it now. That
was like, yeah, like early two thousands, really awful when
he got attacked by two fans as first base coach

(11:48):
who decided they a father's son uh situation, ran on
the field, That's the first thing I thought of. Luckily
it didn't. It worked out fine. But that's that's my
next point is were these guys together and for whatever reason,
the first guy was going to run out and then
the second guy was going to run out.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
No, And that's the fearsome thing, right, especially as you've
got because we have the incident in Chicago right where
I mean mismanaged by in a million different ways. But
you have the incident where you have a shooting in
the stands. They don't do anything or say anything about
it in game, they cancel the Vanilla Ice postgame concert

(12:29):
citing technical difficulties, and then they tried to claim that
the shot happened from outside the stadium and happened to
hit people that were seated in the stadium. They still
haven't really given you a definitive answer, both from the
police side or from White Sox management, security, et cetera.

(12:50):
Because there's a million questions that need to be asked
and answered out of that entire sequencing of events. But
you're already worried about security in all of these venues, right,
You and I have gone to some big events. You
get wanded how many times before you actually are allowed
to go wander to the concession stand and begin your
gluttony for the day? Three four times, Mike. When I

(13:12):
went to the Taylor Swift concert, multiple security checks checking out,
you know, what kind of camera you're bringing in, what's
in your bag, what's in your pockets, empty your pockets,
all of that stuff. One wand two wands, here's a
metal detector, whatever, Like, we already see this in so
many venues, and then you still have this being done right.

(13:34):
We've had the changes in terms of security related to
foul balls and things. Our guy Bill Plashki wrote an
article There was a woman that you know, was tragically
killed by a foul ball, and we watched teams expand
their netting up and sideways across Major League Baseball.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
What do you do here, man?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
How many more security guards can you have? Do you
have to have more a olity tests for these guys?
Do they have to be placed actually on the field
because normally there's people on the field during warm ups
between innings, right is that? I mean, do you have
to double and they're all supposed to be staring at
the not looking at what's behind you, staring and they

(14:15):
still the guy still gets on them, and this guy
still gets to him, and the second guy is able
to right the fact that you didn't have enough security
guards that converged on guy one because you can't leave
everybody unattended. Obviously, uh in the other sections, but I
mean this, this is just a reminder of how quickly
things can change.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Man.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
A completely developing story here on Fox Sports RATI with
Ronald Kunye. I mean that there's your two big take,
how calm he was standing there and were these guys together?
I mean a really really big deal. But again, Kuni
is okay. They all talked about it after Brian Sticker said, Hey,
I didn't see it live. I was in the bathroom,
but I saw when I figured I was in the

(17:12):
is on Twitter at Jason lock and For. And now
we're gonna break news. I mean, Jason doesn't know we're gonna.
I found this out. Jason, you have been named the
starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals. Congratulations. I hope you
can still do that and write for the Washington Post.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
How much are they paying me?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Oh, they're going to uh, well, almost as much as
you get for the Post.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Oh, I'm not sorry. I'm not putting my brain through that.
Can they just hit fast forward on the season till
the draft? I mean, can they just why don't they
just forfeit the season and just you know, everybody bides
their time and we'll reconvene the business of the Arizona Cardinals.

(17:54):
You know, when they have the first overall pick of
the twenty twenty four draft.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
You know, you look at today what they did. They
let Colt McCoy go. The only guy with any kind
of starting experience, Kyler Murray starting on the pup list.
So it's going to be a while before we see him,
if we see him, we see him at all this season.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
To get him out of bubble wrap is this.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Something where the NFL gets involved a little bit. There's
a phone call, there's something going Hey Josh Dobbs. I mean,
come on, man, really, come on man, what's going on here?
Is there any kind of phone call or hey? This
is really just hey out and out, Hey, listen, we're
not playing for this year at all.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
You know, I don't know there's anything you can do
in real time to stop a transaction like this, And
it's obviously you know, the moment is passed. And you know,
Colt McCoy, who I think he'll probably still be playing
football for a living long after I'm dead and buried.
You can't keep him down, so don't worry. He'll resurface.

(18:51):
I mean, is it the kind of thing that the
competition committee will red flag? And I think if you're
looking at ripple effects, you know, could could this be
part of a to trigger a larger conversation about moving
to some sort of lottery system right which we've now
seen baseball incorporate. It's not just the NBA anymore. I

(19:16):
do wonder a little bit about that, like if it
gets the ball rolling a little bit, like, okay, we've
now reached a point where okay, this is, this is
totally overt and it's it's hard to prevent that, right,
It's very hard to determine what seems to be a
reasonable transaction and what seems to be tanking. And we

(19:37):
can't legislate that. So let's provide a safety net to
where if you do that, you're not guaranteed of getting
your ultimate outcome anyway. Now, I would say in this draft, again,
we're only at what what they call it Week zero
accouns football. We're not in the Week one yet. But
in the scouting community right now, the lust over three
to four quarterbacks in this draft is significant, more than

(20:02):
I've seen in years. So you might not have to
be first overall to still get your guy. You might
just have to be in the top three to get
a real difference maker. But regardless, I don't know what
you can do. You know, it's not even like a trade,
you know, where if somebody made some kind of crazy
cockammy trade, maybe the management council could step in. I mean,

(20:22):
they're allowed to release players, but this is passing no
One smell test and it is absolutely what it is,
and I think every effort will be made also to
keep Kyler Murray off the field for reasons pertaining to
that contract and not wanting to get him hurt and
to be in position to move off of him after

(20:42):
the year, and those things in their totality along with
what we saw the Browns do a few years. I
mean they, by no means are these guys the first
to do it. I mean the Texas did it for
three years straight, the varying degrees. But maybe, you know,
maybe it starts that conversation.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
In Ernest well saw since we last spoke, the long
national nightmare of speculation is done as Trey Lance becomes
a member of the Dallas Cowboys under cover of night.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Dak didn't look happy.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Will Greer goes out and has a four touchdown performance,
but that deck's press conference left a lot of questions
as to how this is going over here.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Jason, Yeah, well, look, if Dak Prescott really does in
any way feel threatened by this, then shame on him.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Those guys have played football is high school, like this
is a long term project, and it's not like they're
taking this on, you know, in the beginning of the offseason.
It's the lifting program, and you can leave the veterans
alone and let's try to like cultivate this kid. He's
the Scout team quarterback. Nobody gives a damn about that.
They're trying to win a super Bowl. It's Jerry Jones,

(21:52):
he's eighty something years old, that collected these veterans on
one year deals, right. I mean, it's the ultimate, like
we're in it to win it thing. Nobody cares about
the developmental quarterback in September and October, November, December, January
of a contending team, or at least a team that
fancy itself a contender, you know. I mean, this has

(22:15):
a little bit of the air of Ben Roethlisberger when
they drafted Mason Rudolph, except Ben Roethlisberger was near the
end of his career. Dak Prescott shouldn't be so. I
just don't think it should have any ramifications in that
locker room whatsoever. Teams are always collecting quarterbacks, Teams are
always looking to buy load. Now I would say they

(22:36):
bought too high. I was shocked. I didn't think they'd
get more than a sixth for him, or you know,
maybe if it was a contending team, it would be
a fifth. But you're talking the end of the fifth
round in that scenario. So this surprises me that you
know they got that, not that it's anything like what
they gave up to move up to take this kid

(22:56):
third overall, But this is he's a project. I mean,
he's somebody who you play with in the spring. Summer
is almost over. You guys said it, the real football starting.
He gives a damn about I had a news free.
If Trey LANs plays this year, their seasons could put.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Yeah Jason locking for our guests here at Fox Sports Radio.
All right, well, speaking of playing this season, I've given
you every chance this summer to give you one more
chance right now. You know you finally got to see
him play. He looked awesome. Two drives, one touchdown that
if you go by just social media, it was the
greatest individual pass in NFL history. Probably are you buying

(23:39):
any more Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
No. I mean now, like it's funny, I'm old enough
to remember what a week ago, Tuesday whatever, the third
episode of Hard Knocks where he's shredding his whole offensive line.
Now he's trying to instill all this fake like what's
he going to do? It's Makai becktin her bus. So
now it's all about wrapping our arms around the Max

(24:07):
Mis was worse than him, So what the hell are
we going to do. We're got to kalk this guy out.
We better like we better completely changed the narrative and
make it like we you know, we're we're all about well,
you got no choice, and we still haven't seen much
of the left tackle this offseason. And last I checked,
he's still thirty six years old, So no, I have issues.

(24:30):
I have questions. There's so many new pieces there, and
I think there's going to be a learning curve that's
sort of an error and all of this, and unfortunately
for them, they don't get, you know, any sort of
easy ramp up. They get thrown into the deep end
right away because they went and did their big sexy
splash thing and it's all super They're now a super

(24:50):
Bowler Bus team, even though you know they haven't won
a playoff game. Since you know, I'm not gonna say it,
I was gonna say, I'll just say, since Rexaurant was
the head coach, sure sure there was just an obvious.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Oh yeah, no, I you know where I was probably
sure sure.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
It was anatomy related that's a family show. Yeah, so yeah,
I know, I'm not I'm not buying it. I need
to see it to believe it. And I don't like
the way the schedule sets up, and I don't think
that these kinds of things generally work, and I especially
in this sport. And I think what Tom Brady did
is colored everything. But we need to remember Tom Brady

(25:30):
is a different sort of freak show, even more so
than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
All right, last one for you real quick.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Jason Smith's been having a candlelight vigil every night for
Jonathan Taylor to get traded. Did Jim Irsay just become
obstinate and hold out and not do it? Or does
a mystery team emerge to make this?

Speaker 6 (25:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (25:49):
I mean, I mean maybe there's a mystery team. I
don't know. His agent's been telling people within the business
for over a week now that there's two teams that
will pay the kid fourteen million dollars a year. The
problem is that that's only half the equation. That you
also have to make the hanky tunk man in Indianapolis
sign off on this thing. And I don't know that
anybody is going to give him what he perceives to

(26:12):
be fair enough value to make the whole thing happen.
So I don't know that he is there by the deadline,
you know, because injuries will spur action and teams to
do more. But I'm not sure it gets done before
this roster cut down.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
You can fall him on Twitter at Jason lock and
for that is at Jason Lock and for Odyssey. Check
him out at the Washington Post as well, and your
UQB one for the Arizona Cardinals. Jay, what if we
paid you by the sack.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
I wouldn't how much for sack because one sack's gonna
kill me. All right, I'm gonna be sacked on the
first snap.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Take it, easybody. We'll talk to you Jason. Oh, awesome
stuff with Jason locking for it. Look, I'll tell you
this and I'll I'll give you a big bull prediction
later on in the show. I had a big exhale.
Rogers got through the first two drives, touchdown to Garrett Wilson.
Get off the field, get off, get off, get off.

(27:10):
He's okay. I didn't want to hear middle of the
second quarter. Hey, and all, by the way, just this
and the reason Aaron Rodgers came out of the game,
not because he threw the touchdown, because he was feeling
something in both of his calves, and no, I was
waiting for that. It's the way of the world. No, No,
Once you had the midway through the third quarter, I
felt good. I didn't really feel good till that come about.
I know it's halftime, speking. Hey, let's go down to

(27:31):
the field, and you know somebody local from WPIX is
gonna say I just spoke with Jet's head trainer, and
I'm going, oh no, no. So I had to wait
a little bit and button. But then it turned out
it turned out okay. Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is fine.
Everything is good. Getting ready for seventh the show, September eleventh,
Ready to go.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
I just always chuckle when I'm in lockstep with locking
for the mackuy Beckton thing. That's exactly how it read
to me. I got no choice but to talk to
this guy up.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
You're the greatest yep, right, what are your big fellow?
What about Boxyo? So Boxyard is not gonna happen. Okay,
turn the cameras on, Hey, Beck, then come here, Boddy,
let's go have lunch. Me and you come on, wait, wait, wait,
cameras off, cameras off. You're sure about Boxyari? You sure? Okay,
cameras on. Eh, let's go leaves. Come on, hey, it's
on me. You're gonna eat a lot because you're a
big guy. I'll pay for it. It's okay, camera off? Okay, seriously, seriously,

(28:21):
back to all right, I'll text him door, but i'll
text him how it's gonna go. Right now, let's find
out what's trending in the wide world of sports with
special delivery Steve de Seger A, Steve, what you got
for us?

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Well, you mentioned the tribute video to Max Scherzer in
his return to City Field. As the Mets were hosting
the Texas Rangers tonight. They show the video highlights and
then show the picture of Max schures are.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
In the dugout.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
It was a great arrow, wasn't it?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Of Mett's baseball. I'll tell you, well, no, we'll got
that year, that year in three months, that really good
first three and a half months, and then he got
tired and ran out of gas and was bad in
the playoffs, and ah, then he got suspended this year
and never really found himself.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
That was the highlight of his Mets career, complaining about
the sticky stuff.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
It took him eight starts to find his slider. I'm
getting there. I'm getting close. Dude, you're getting paid three
million dollars a start. You better find your slider.

Speaker 6 (29:16):
Man turned out he also had sticky fingers when he
was talking about my options getting picked up though, right, yeah, right.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Yeah, it's shocking that it's not like he asked out though.
Just Mets fans are just so pissed about everything. Yeah, right,
he just happens to be in front of them. He
was a guy that wanted to stay. Hey, if we're
going different, I gotta talk to somebody. I want to stay.
I want to win, right right.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
The Mets record is now sixty and seventy two after
losing it home to Texas, blowing the lead as you mentioned,
four to three, the final two runs top of the
ninth of the Rangers. Corey Seeger had three more hits.
He's betting three forty six. Houston won thirteen to five
at Boston. Can I mention that after Chris Sale, the
Red Sox starter went out of this game in the
fifth inning. Clearly they had just determined whoever the next

(30:02):
army in is he's staying in.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
Because Kyle Barroclaw was the Red Sox reliever in the
fifth inning and he allowed ten runs and eleven hits
in four and a third.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I saw he walks.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
The breakdown on social media was people were too busy
doing the waved, even boo sale.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
As he left the field, I thought two things. The
first thing I thought was bear Claw. Then the second
thought was, oh man, I haven't remembered him since he
was with the Marlins when he was like this up
and coming, young, hard throwing reliever, and now he was
just gonna be out there to take everything. Not coming
out for you, skip, you coming out, Nope, Nope, stay there,
keep throwing, stick rowing.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
It was like hit batter, walk home up, stay.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
On, he's neither hit matter, No, keep pointing at him,
you stay. It's all you. What about back to back walks? No,
go go. You got yourself into this, get yourself out
of it.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
The starter, Chris sails through ninety two pitches, the reliever
through ninety four pitches. In this game, Houston has beaten
Boston third team to five and jose L Tube hit
for the cycle, including an eighth inning home run. The
Blue Jays are still two and a half games out
of the final AL wid car behind Houston and Texas.
Toronto won it's game six to three over Washington. Victories

(31:14):
for the Yankees and Baltimore. Philadelphia had two home runs
from Trey Turner and beat the Angels six to four.
Minnesota's first place in the AL Central seven games ahead
of the Guardians. Can we just say out loud it's
not September yet, Just say out loud the Guardians are
not going to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
No, it's not.

Speaker 6 (31:29):
I know it's a court race in the division.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
But listen, they waved the white flag when they let
Cinderguard go. That you knew we're not trying to win
the trades before then. No, how about? Oh, by the way,
not that abed Rosario has been you know, cesspitous since
they got him. But he's you know, it's left almost
a verb at this point. He's left handed, pitching at

(31:54):
a clip of about two ninety two ninety five. He
solidified the Dodgers in field, Yeah, because they were playing
guy that we're hitting one ninety in Mookie.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
Can you play short stuff about shortstop?

Speaker 1 (32:04):
How about you play both Kip just play right between
the bases. And this trade, I mean, I know it's
not a bit, but this could go down as in
the last ten years, how many trades have been worse
than this for a team that made it. They traded
away a guy that they weren't going to resign, but
who had a lot of value because he's a glue player,
he's pretty solid, and you get a pitcher who was
diminishing returns who you wind up waving the least.

Speaker 6 (32:25):
Yeah, a month later, Cleveland is that yesterday designated pitcher
Noah Sindergard for assignment.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
He said, Cleveland, you suck. He was something like that,
this fastball was time to fifty five.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
But still, I mean, you were at the trader almost
to September and the opponents are batting three hundred against him.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
It's a bad year.

Speaker 6 (32:42):
He just doesn't happen anymore, if I even need to
say that out loud. Cleveland's record sixty two and seventy
now after losing it in Minnesota tonight ten to six,
even though Cleveland was up briefly for nothing in the
second inning. Pittsburgh and San Diego with road winds Milwaukee
as well, the Brewers have won nine straight. They beat
the Cubs at Wrigley six to two. Nice start for
the Dodgers. At home, They're playing Arizona and then Atlanta

(33:05):
this week.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
At home.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
It's three to one Dodgers in the third over the Diamondbacks,
thanks the first inning home runs from Freddie Freeman and
Max Muncy. Also in progress, the Braves are winning again
nine to four at Colorado in the top of the seventh.
And he just keeps continuing, Ronald Acunye, he's just about
thirty homers and sixty steals so far. He got his

(33:27):
sixtieth steal tonight. He's at twenty nine homers. This is crazy.
US Open tennis tournament started today in New York. Number
one Egas Fionzek on the women's side one easily. Tonight,
Number six Coco go off in a match that was
not easy, advanced in three sets. And yes, the Arizona
Cardinals release quarterback Colt McCoy and quarterback Kyler Murray will
miss at least the first four games still on the

(33:47):
pup list.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Back to you thanks a bun Steve O. Coming up next,
our first big Bold prediction for the football season. And
here's something I'm gonna make it and you're gonna say,
oh yeah, can completely see that coming true. That's next
right here, This is Fox.
