Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Welcome back. In second half of the show begins live
and in living color from the tire rack dot Com
studios tyrac dot com. We'll help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, over

(00:51):
is no Jason Smith tonight off gallivanting perhaps at the
Renaissance concert. Maybe uh, shaking it up to some Beyonce. Yeah,
if he can get his dance on. As as we
get things flowing. It's that time of year, big concerts
rolling through town, but obviously football front and center. College

(01:11):
football with your Louisville squad coming back and getting a
big victory, come from behind some anxious moments along the way,
some early taunting in these Fox Sports radios, Chris studios. Well,
you know, I wasn't gonna name names, but you know what,
the we're one big happy family, right, I mean, Chris,

(01:34):
do you know it? I mean we all we all
wear it when our team isn't doing well. As a
Bears fan and he as a Lions fan. We we
We've had some conversations about being also rands me as
a dead player.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
We've had all those things. So there we go.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Well, I didn't feel like I really jets you and
for me certainly here for a decade now alongside my
guy Jason Smith in this time slot, we have watched
a lot of painful games together for his beloved Jets,

(02:11):
and we've we've had to have some online therapy.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Here got some therapy.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
In these studios. Some laughs for the rest of the nation,
no question about it. As we've poked the bear. But look,
my Chicago franchises. Look, man, I got a people in
my hometown trying to convince you that someone smuggled a
gun in the roles of fat on their belly. So
you got lots of stuff going up a lot. Yeah,

(02:38):
So psychologically. You know, you're you're dealing You're dealing with
a lot of stuff. Yeah, and you're you know, have
been the butt of a lot of jokes for a
long long time.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
See if you did there, you're trying to talk about
the butt fumble. I see what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, well, you know, sometimes you got a backdoor your
way into that. At Carrie twenty five Roads on Twitter,
we are word smith the hell lot of stuff here
on a beautiful Friday night. We're also keeping our eye
on the US Open as we have a little bit
of chaos, potential maybe order getting restored. But Djokovic was

(03:12):
down two sets. Yeah, so a little bit of chaos.
But I wanted to go into the psychology of locker rooms. Right.
We had the Justin Field story that we did last
hour of Hey, you know what I gotta get away
from social media. It's a lot of bad negative space.
I think it's something we all kind of feel, but
it's it's a necessary evil depending on your line of business. Yes, right, yes, Look,

(03:35):
I've long said once my girls are through school and
on their own and into their lives, I may throw
my cell phone into the ocean and just be a
landline guy, I might, I might just go back to
right back to the landline. It's not only for buzzing
the package deliverer in or your fast food order that's

(03:59):
coming via livery service doesn't well sometimes you got that,
but but the idea like I'm done with it, so
I get it. But shameless self promotion for what we
do here at Swollen Dome, at Harmon rants over in
the TikTok world. More of that for the football season,
the podcast, everything through the iHeartRadio app and wherever you

(04:23):
get your audio for what we do here Jason and
I each night Carrie graces to come in and hang
out with us and have some fun with us tonight
as we get ready in earnest for the NFL season.
But we're in that weird spot a couple more days.
And as a player, I mean, I certainly know talking
to enough executives and coaches through the years, it's that
worst time of the year, right because you're ready to go,

(04:46):
but now you've got a little bit of idle time. Right,
It's a holiday weekend right before you really come back
in earnest, and obviously you got a Thursday night game.
Everybody's ready. I mean the lines are playing, I mean
this big stuff as we get rolling. But for other
other players, right, they're away from the facilities, and there's
a lot the nervous nights of please let me wake

(05:08):
up and not have it having to have addressed my
phone or blips from the computer or whatever else. Yeah,
but also the you know you're you're also trying to inspire, right,
it's a new season and you're trying to rally your squad,
and so let me play play the clip first, because
this went around the world today. Kind of a big

(05:29):
deal world. All right, we've already watched Arizona trying to
undo everything from the Steve Kaima era. They've changed out
the coach and now he gave us this gym a
little earlier.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
Welcome back, who drove over here? Quicks your hands? Who
took the bus? Did you have fire in your gut?
Digit We're here for a reason, don't get that twisted. Okay,
We're here for a reason to win games.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
So if you didn't have.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
That fire in your gut, you better light the fire
pretty fast.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Be who you are. Just understand I'm looking for killers.
So that's Jonathan Gannon, your new head coach of the
Arizona Cardinals, a team many believe will be in the
running for Caleb Williams, and then trying to figure out
how to offload the lofty, hefty contract that they signed
with Kyler Murray and figuring out the next iteration of

(06:30):
the squad. Let's face it on paper, it doesn't look good, no,
and you've traded away a couple of big time talents
and the roster going in is not one that you're
feeling great confidence in. And in division you've got Seattle
get ready for another run. The forty nine ers we
talked about, and the Rams might be just good enough

(06:52):
to be dangerous. Yeah, right, again, no huge expectations there,
as we alluded to earlier with the Kelly Matt Stafford
and the state of the locker room, and a lot
of it's going to depend on whether Cooper cup can
stay upright. And is Aaron Donald anchoring your defense because
when he wasn't on the field, I don't know, if
you watched the run defense, I could have been putting

(07:13):
up seven a pop. You could have got seven, oh
yeah against that defensive front what they were doing up there? Yeah, yeah, man,
there wasn't much much going on. I I was feeling
pretty good. Well I got I mean, look, man, Quadzilla.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
I understand. I see the appearance.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
You know, I like low center of gravity and I'm
short enough that I might be able to do well. Okay,
I'll one move my knees flying into the man. It's gone.
But like you hear that, and I watched it a
number of times, like all right, we're editing this together
and putting this out where this is the speech? Like

(07:50):
how many of you drove here to? Where are we going?

Speaker 6 (07:54):
What?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
You you're a master of your own domain because you
drove a car to the team facility. That's how you're
jumping off. Not hey, we're going into battle. Imagine yourself,
you know, Maximus Decimus Aurelius. Yeah at my signal on
leegh hell oh no? Did anybody take the bus?

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Yeah? Because I'm looking for killers.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I'm looking for killers. Well, I mean, look, go well together.
I don't know. I'm a Chicago guys, I've read plenty
of stories. I've seen many a movie. Or maybe things
on the bus don't start so well, maybe not quite
the same killer instinct that you're looking.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
For out of football, you know what, Mark Mike, this
is this really killed me because it is a terrible SoundBite.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
It's a terrible clip.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
You could even in the edits and the cuts of
you know, the cameras panics to different players and you
see the expressions and they're just not moved at all.
But the one that really stuck out the most was
Buddha Baker. He was just sitting there with this blank
stare on his face, just exasperated about what was going
on the same like, but that's no, he's guy, and

(09:00):
he's the guy. But lem got me tell you one
more thing about this situation, Mike, that really hurts me
to my core. Jonathan Gannon was my understudy in college,
so I've known him for a long time. So to
see him in this position, yeah, and to start off
his regime, to start the season off that way so lackluster,

(09:22):
it hurt my heart. Like he was my I call
him JG. Like that is my guy, I saw.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
I mean, you're a musician. Extemporaneous speech here yelling at
me and Steve Hartman and anybody else said, and you know,
when the microphone goes on, it's like we're doing shoot interviews,
like we're in the WWE and then my guy, that's
the plan.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
And and beyond that. I mean, look, I get it,
you're not running everything you're gonna say past your assistance
or whatever. But then they put that out like like
it was some kind of big deal, like that's the
other day, Like as an organization, you failed him, Yeah,
you failed him. The guys in the room know what happened.
They were there, they watched it go down.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Right, But to then prop it.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Like, hey, this is our coach. He's ready.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
That's gonna be a meme. That's all that's gonna be.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
It's like, I'm sure it's already, mean ready, it's gonna
be uh tears coming out of his eyes as he speaks,
and it's gonna it's gonna get worse from Here's what
I'm trying to say, Mike. There's no like rainbow on
the other side of this situation. It's gonna get worse.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
Now.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
He did go to Santagdancia's High School in Cleveland, Ohio.
I am a graduate of Santategnacia's College Prep in Chicago. Okay, yeah, downtown.
So you guys are working on their baseball field at
one point you got like guys were coming to try
to steal my tools. Wow, and you're here to tell
us about it. So you're pretty nifty. Like we talked

(10:47):
about ELI, I got a good first step. After about
twenty yards, you'll catch me and pass me and maybe
lap me around. We're brought to you by Progressive Insurance.
Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy
discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat, a TV and
more all your protection of one place. Bundle and save
a Progressive dot Com. Yeah, at some point I'm writing

(11:07):
a book. I got I got stories for days and
going back, Well, we when I was there, and now
it's truly been ripped up. And the high school I
went to had least a bunch of the land that
they owned to the city, and the city put up
housing projects, and they had one piece that was a

(11:28):
baseball diamond. And we were out there and I would
go back in the summer while I was in college
and earned some money that I hire us to go
and do some jobs. And I was helping the building
engineer out on the sprinkler. No sen here pitching, pitching,
and he goes, just take that, take that take that,
all of that, and the rest of that you can leave.
Like he goes, we're getting shot at. I was like,

(11:51):
you're hearing this but trying to figure out what the hell.
And then as you got a few steps away, you
recognized all right there on the twelfth level or whatever.
And then as soon as we got away to people
came and took whatever tools we we well we we
took the ones that were the price, were gonna be
the top ones. Everything else you want, the ranches have

(12:13):
at it. But yeah, I got I got stories for days.
But that that one was, uh that that will always
shape shape your life. Eventually, they they took the land
back from the city and the whole area is now
different and it's like a college campus over there.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
So PTSD about you know, random sounds that are around you.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Do you have thatment yet?

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Very much? Head swivel oh Man. That's scary formative years.
What are you gonna do? You know, we all come
from somewhere and look, I'm but for the grace of
God and a couple of things like that. You know,
I'm not here, but we live to tell your tale.
But they get to mock bad speeches by head coaches

(12:55):
so you played through well, I mean, I don't want
to beat up on your guys, so we'll take it
more universe here.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Yes, yes, thank you.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
In terms of what it means right in a locker room,
because the guy could be great on the on the
grease board, could be great on the chalkboard and everything else,
but you don't get that level of confidence instilled when
they speak. What how do you remedy that disconnect?

Speaker 5 (13:20):
I think the leaders in the room can carry carry
your team more than the head coach Gaven raw Ross speeches, right,
So that's my mentality, and I think a lot of
a lot of guys mentality that are in the locker room.
I think there are also situations where you need your
head coach to be the leader.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
But I mean, like in this case, I mean, how
much standing do you lose? I mean, even if it's
temporary for something like that.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
Well, i think they've seen enough of him to know
that he's probably not that speaking anyway, so fair enough,
so there could be situations of them being used to that.
So we're just getting the first glimpse of.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
We're getting the eye rolls exactly the other thing they
put out the eye rolls exactly carried. That's the thing
that bewildered me even more. It's like you had the
opportunity to curate this, however you wanted to a clip
from three positional meetings down the hall where Buddha Baker's

(14:15):
leaning in like it's interested, Yeah, he's fired up. Instead
you got guys, look at r will you believe this?
That's let me do who was the editor? Let's figure
that out first. Can we figure it out? But it's
another example of the ineptitude of the Arizona Cardinals squad.
Like just because you got rid of Cime and and
look met him here draft night, nice guy whatever did

(14:40):
not do a good job. He did, like we have
to just call what it is in Kingsbury did not
do a good job.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
That was not good.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
So it's gone. But like you still have the vestiges
of the organization and we know like stories for years
of how things have been managed from from the ownership
on down. And you had the career of Larry Fitzgerald,
a shining beacon. You had JJ Watt for a spell.
You go back to Kurt Orter. You guy like Buddha Baker,

(15:10):
right who people, I think you got to see him
play when you when you got him in some of
those afternoon windows against the forty nine or whatever, there
was an appreciation for him, yes, the last two years.
I think it took some time for that reputation to
build so it could be done. But then you go
when you sabotage yourself like this to where you're already
the laughing stock because people already go oh, they're taking

(15:33):
obviously already, and then you put this up. It's like
you just want to be in on the joke. Yea,
are you already been notified that Friday was your last day?
So I'm putting this up a larger series though, like
it wasn't a one off, Like I like to tell
then what you just said there? Yeah, I'm do you

(15:54):
know what? I've watched this. I had just sit in
thirty of these damn meetings, right, and this was the
most interesting thing he said, take it.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Take this.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Unbelievable stuff. Hey, coming up next. You think that's crazy,
I mean that's one level of speech. You and I
and I think part of America. We're gonna bring you
in and give you a big home. Because if you
ain't seen this, the story of BS.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
High oh Man.

Speaker 3 (16:21):

Welcome back in Foxsport. It's a radio having a blast
with your here. Carry Rhodes, musician, former NFL dB proud

(17:53):
Louisville Cardinal coming off of that big victory tonight over
Georgia Tech. Yes at Carrie twenty five Roach. Check out
what he's got popping. He's got a new single coming out.
He may be inspired enough off of some of these
conversations and the lack of loquaciousness, lack of verbosity, okay
of a former teammate to be.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Inspired to go. I don't know, spit into a microphone tonight.
We'll see burning the midnight oil as it were. But
both you and I as we're getting ready for the
show and starting to talk up the afternoon, right, I
showed out out on social media. You know, my spare
time for my mental health, Like I'm trying to be

(18:35):
really good about this, and I know September being National
Suicide Month and suoner side awareness and you know always
talk about, you know, looking after your people. Jay Glazer
big part of our show on Football Thursday nights during
the season and and everything he's got going with Unbreakable
and the podcast he does. You know, mine is I

(18:58):
have my music that I listened to and from the
outside world. Some would say, well that gets a little
dark whatever, but like it's a place that you know,
I feel okay and I cook. So I'm cooking. And
earlier today, the long story short, and I immersed myself
into BS High and you said you'd seen it too,

(19:20):
so it's like, all right, we've got to at least
give it a couple of minutes. Now, Folks remember the
fun and excitement of Bishop Sycamore and the chaos I
AMG Academy that was the national game. Well, there's a
documentary now available on Max that goes through the formation

(19:40):
of this fictional I can't even call it an entity
because it's not a school. Is not very clear not school. Yeah,
and you get a lot of the backstory that by time,
like the story hit and we talked about it a
lot you know, as that was happening Jason and I
on air and the chaos that that flowed out of that,

(20:01):
and trying to determine what was real, what was imagined,
but the best for me and I was telling Patrick
a little bit earlier, he's in for Justin Frossberg, our
executive producer. Tonight of there was a moment of this thing.
My daughter had come in from work and she's like, oh,
what are you watching? And I kind of explained the backstory. Yeah,
all right, these guys decided, why can't we have our

(20:24):
own little place IMG academy where we go from the
ground up we find some money. It turned out they
were looking to sell insurance to parishioners of a parish. Yeah,
and then say well, you know, just remember us in
your will. Yeah, you know, hey, part of it, you know,
you know whatever, eighty percent, give it to your family,

(20:45):
give it to your friends, but you know, cut a check,
you know, at your passing of twenty percent here. I mean,
that's a long game to play as well, unless you
got something other nefarious going on by there. Yes, but
but you're hearing all this and my daughter comes home
and we're at you know, talking about her day for
a second, I give her the backstory of this, and
then almost as if on Q here's the quote from

(21:07):
the head coach, Roy Johnson that really sent things off
into a whole other direction. The school didn't get one
hundred thousand dollars five hundred thousand dollars and we just
had it anywhere, so that did not happen.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
I would not tell forty thirty twenty kids to all
take out pepp looms from the United States government.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
I don't even trust the United States government. They were
just on my ass.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
We called Droy. He's smart.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
He will play your soul, dumb in your face at
a point where you will think that he's dumb found
into the situation, but don't do it because he's smart.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Like he's smart, real smart, and he'll play you legally.
I did not commit any fraud if I just hang
out in the gray who they called me, Luke old Leroy.
There you go, there's the money quote, I hang out
in the gray. There's several times in the documentary where
he kind of alludes to I really do anything illegal? Yeah,
And why don't they have laws of this, you know,
creating your own school or school like entity, I'm using

(21:57):
air quotes. I know. I mean, maybe that video can work,
but they watching this documentary and just putting myself back
in that moment and watching that game against IMG Academy. Now,
my daughter had the opportunity to go play in a
soccer tournament and showcase down there this last whatever it
was March, and so I got to watch that place

(22:18):
at work a little bit to understand, because you know,
only when you're immersed in a story like this one
or you're going there, it's like, all right, let's read
about this and what tuition is and what the you know,
kind of program is all set up where we stood
around and watched a couple of guys take hitting practice.
The ping of the metal bat just a glorious sound.

(22:40):
But then you know, you got guys doing workouts, got
you know, kickers doing there. You know, hey, he's good
from fifty whatever. I mean, there's all sorts of stuff
going on. It's a machine. So you can understand, especially
when we start talking about the money. Yeah, and that's
what we've been talking about a lot with college realignment.
But don't kid yourself when you talking club sports. Anybody

(23:01):
who's had a kid or a relative involved in this.
Maybe you've been asked to have show up for a
couple of bake sales, a couple of car washes. Maybe uh,
you know again, Hey, if you can cut off an
extra twenty bucks to Johnny's birthday that goes towards his training,
we'd greatly appreciate appreciate it. You know, all of these
travel ball teams and whatever else, you recognize the machine

(23:23):
that it is. So it's not surprising that you've got
a Roy Johnson or probably thousands just like him working
around systems. Right, and go back to you getting recruited.
What's real, what's imagined when someone's coming into your house,
and how big is your no pun intended BS meter
as to what they're bringing you.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Listen, there's a Roy Johnson on every corner in every
part of the world.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
Right.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
But the fact that he got to the points, to
the heights of what he did to take a scrappy
bunch of individuals, kids who were you know, clamoring the
idea of getting the second chance and.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
The neighborhood and he got a bad circumstances. But again,
the the praying.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Or the right the right individuals to pull this whole
thing off. But I mean, like I said, man, there's
a Roy Johnson on every corner, especially a corner in
New York that's lurking too.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
We can go down and we can do that.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
We can take those rocks and they.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Are they are hustlers, they are wordsmiths. I mean in
our profession, that's what you know. No, it's it that
they can convince you to do certain things that you
will look back on when you're not involved in it
and say, what the hell was I thinking?

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Well, think about it, right, I mean, we do it
every night, every day, every podcast or whatever. There's there's
just a yarn you want to tell right about a player,
your evaluation, and you're gonna pick and choose stats and
comps to another player, time down distance that are going
to be favorable to whatever argument you're trying to sell, right,

(25:09):
And sometimes it's it's a full cell job. You don't
believe what you're saying. And most of you your BS
meters high enough with radio and television, sports, news, politics, whatever,
you know, when you're being sold a bill of goods
that the person making the very loud argument doesn't believe
a word he's saying, but damn he's gonna sell you

(25:33):
or try or he's going to entertain you. Right, I
mean that's really all it comes down to selling me
out it but have at it. But but very much
in this process, like I gotta be you know, the
radars always got to be up if you're a parent,
Like we were talking with Coach Prime coming in, here's
my resume, brass tacks. This is what I'm looking to do.

(25:56):
Your kid in er out. But you know what he is.
Get the guys like Roy Johnson, it's like, all right,
what's the CV, what's the history, what's all that? He
had no coaching acumen. They were drawing up plays from
from Madden. Said actually showed a plaint from Madden and
they you know, put this up on the screen. That's

(26:17):
to what they were running.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
Yeah, the kids would ask what kind of coaches Rod Johnson.
He was like, well he he walks around a lot
and then he Yeah, nobody could say what he did.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
It's it, it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Well, the fact that I forget the one kids, I
felt worse for him because he looked like he really
just wanted to punch a wall. The big fella yeah right, yeah,
because he because he went off about it. In terms
of Yeah, in hindsight, we should have had a leader
or two run us through a drill so we at
least got something out of it, exactly right, because they

(26:52):
weren't running sprints, they weren't doing stretching like the base
things that you did in pee wee football, but your
coaches didn't have to necessarily direct you to.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
But my think about this, these kids were at a
school taking no class.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
So if you think about them from the standpoint like.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
School on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yeah, like no class, we're doing no schooling, but we're
getting to play football. Like number one, kids probably dream,
right if they're coming from the situations and the and
the you know, I'll just say situations that they came from. Right,
they're doing what they love and they're not doing what
they don't love.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Well, but how many times were you told the tale?
And again it goes back to what we were talking
about with guys are going to class, Like the vast
majority of guys, you're going to class, but the perception
is you're a star. You didn't, yes, because you did
have a few guys that yeah, I had a no show,
you know, Spanish class or whatever the case may be. Yeah,
you know, I went to Northwestern. I had a couple

(27:51):
of guys that really were trying to pressure you going.
It would really help me out if you could just
like dude, no, no, but but that kind of thing, right,
Like we've heard all those stories. So if you're in
their shoes, I get get all the benefit and someone's
going to pass me through or whatever. There's some mechanism

(28:13):
that this is going to work exactly, and until they
realized they didn't exactly.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
And that's what I'm I want to talk more about
the adults in the room, like what were they doing.
Obviously they we've said it probably you know, probably single
single family homes and not having the enough attention on
the detail of what's going on. We just we get
the shining trophy, which is dream. We got the shining
shinning trophy that says I can go have a second

(28:38):
chance at playing football, to go to college. It sounds glamorous.
It sounds the videos they had cut to show them
the facilities and stuff like it was it's sick.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
And he said he was running out shug night.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Yeah, if you don't want of coach dancing in the videos.

Speaker 7 (28:54):
Yeah, it's going to be it's really it's really worth
a watch as you go, but it really underscores a
lot of the misgivings you have with some.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Some of the process as it were, right and how
the sausage gets made, because there's there's fundamental truth to it,
just not with the charlatan, you know, necessarily living in
the gray side of things, as he kept alluding to,
I'm in the shadows.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
This check lasts for thirty days, so I can I can,
you know, buy a chicken meal tonight and make the
you know, it was just.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Like well the net thirty net, like you're getting work
done on your house, like tell you what Bill's doing
thirty days exactly. He was trying to do that with
buying the whole chickens out of disc everything. So yeah,
fraud and all this other stuff. But like you're watching
him going, I could see how people were taking though,
Oh sure, you know what I mean. And look, I'm

(29:52):
one of those guys that we We've watched enough scandal
in every form of and every medium. Right, you want
to go politics, we can go politicans. You want to
go religion, we can go religion. We you know, sports
and take pick a lane. You've had the charismatic person
that been able to sell your right. It's Billy Flynn
in Chicago, Jason and I use it all the time.

(30:13):
Give him the razzle dazzle and what you're really doing.
Nobody has any clue.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Nobody knows.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Mike depart as long as the money keeps flowing.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
And we keep talking about the kids being you know,
in a situation where they fail or got duped.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
He duped a whole a whole state. Yeah, I mean
he's playing all the way up to like he gets
a couple of games. Yeah, and they play a game
forty eight hours before that. Yeah, anything, and you're seeing
helmets flying all like I just remember watching it live
and your mouth is dropping because these guys are dropping

(30:46):
like flies. Yeah, and then you find out the mom
is acting at it as a trainer. But like you're
going through this whole process and it gets to ESPN,
who buys it, Like that's what they refuse to decline
comments Like all right, even whoever was you probably fired
immediately thereafter. So you know what, let's once and for all,

(31:09):
don't give me more things of my guy from you know,
the former Cold Pizza, you know, talking about it, making
fun of it. No, No, you guys all got a guy.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
How'd that happen? Who let the guard down? Who let
the dogs out? And and made that situation? I mean,
does the longevity that it had. I mean they were
playing games before this ESPN game, the season before the
whole season.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
Well, and then they said they Johnson was claiming they
still had a bunch of folks for the following year.
It's worth a look. See again, Sometimes you don't want
to know how the sausage just made here, Uh you do,
grab a beer, grab some popcorn, because, like t O
told you to, all those years ago, positions worth every
bit of it. Yeah, he's carry roads in for Jason Smith.

(31:53):
I'm Mike carbon I'm still shaking my head thinking about
that quote that we played. Uh, but now we're gonna
give it over to Steve de Seger Cuz, hey, Steve,
is it too late at Dodger Stadium? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (32:04):
Probably? So Atlanta Braves were up six nothing in the eighth,
and they pulled Max Munsey and pinch hit for Freddie
Freeman and pinch hit for Mookie Bets and a pinch
hitter hit a three run homer. So it's six three
Atlanta and The Dodgers now have two on two out
with subs in the game in the bottom of the
eighth inne.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Oh wow, Dave's a genius. By the way, I've seen
a lot of fist bumping Jason Hayward this week at
a lot of screen time for him. Well when you
do well yeah, well, but I mean just you know,
one of those guys that you like, he's on that
squad and there is yeah, yeah, cheaply I should say, amen.

Speaker 8 (32:40):
Yeah, you know those last few years contract was still
pretty hefty from that Cubs deal.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Good job by him.

Speaker 8 (32:47):
Yeah, yeah, whoever, his agent wanted to get that in
the you know, with the modern stats and hey, this
is how many runs he's gonna say, Yeah, who cares
if he bats two twenty and you.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Know, again, Billy Flynton, give him the old razzle dazzles that.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
This is a four game series at Dodgers Stadium with
the best team in baseball Atlanta going for a fifth
straight win.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
Again.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
It's six ' to three over the Dodgers, now two
outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. This is
the last game going. San Diego has beaten San Francisco
seven to three. Arizona over Baltimore four to two. The
Oriols still first in the AL East, still game and
a half over Tampa Bay. Cleveland beat Tampa Bay three
to two. Minnesota was a five to one winner at
Texas Twins, or first in the AL Central, still five

(33:29):
games out of the Guardians. By the way, the Twins
hit three home runs in the last three innings to
win that road game. Rangers had been one nothing leaders
going to the seventh. Texas offense three for twenty nine.
The Yankees' top prospect, shall we say, Jason Domingez of
the Yankees, he's been talked about for a while, finally
hit the major league level tonight. Homard in his first

(33:49):
major league at bat in Houston off Justin Verlander, No.
Less six to New York the final. Verlander gave up
four home runs, gave up the six runs in his
six innings work. Houston's offense only had four hits. Carlos
Rodin got the win for the Yankees, pitching five innings.
Milwaukee scored four times in the bottom of the eighth
to beat Philadelphia seven to five. Three of those runs

(34:10):
games came in my third baseman's error. The Brewers are
first place in the NL Central three games over the Cubs,
six up on the Reds Cubs in Reds split a doubleheader.
Miami won in eleven innings mets to one over Seattle
Toronto a thirteen to nine winner at Colorado. There is
a late game in college football at Hawaii. Stanford in

(34:31):
the league twenty one to seven in the final minute
before halftime. Louisville trailed in Atlanta at halftime twenty eight
to thirteen, but still came back to beat Georgia Tech
thirty nine thirty four. Miami of Florida over Miami Ohio
thirty eight to three. Michigan State on FS one tonight
only led Central Michigan ten to seven at the half.
Spartan's thirty one seven the final victories for Kansas and

(34:53):
Eastern Michigan. The Atlanta Coast Conference is adding Stanford, Cal
and SMU starting next year in all sports. The ACC
got the minimum vote needed to pass twelve to three.
The only schools that haven't arranged an exit from the
PAC twelve are Washington State and Oregon State, and the
American Conference says explicitly it will not be expanding westward,

(35:14):
leaving the PAC twelve next year. For the Big Ten
Conference or USC UCLA, Washington, and Oregon, and for those
keeping score at home, four others are going to the
Big Twelve, including Colorado, but Washington State and Oregon State.
If they end up in the Mountain West, for example,
would lose millions. PAC twelve last year paid thirty seven
million dollars per school, Mountain West conference roughly four.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
To eight million.

Speaker 8 (35:36):
According to reports, Alabama will reportedly start quarterback Jalen Milrod
tomorrow night against Middle Tennessee. Bama host Texas the next week.
Milroe initially committed to play for Texas years ago. And
we have an update from New York and the US opened.
Novak Djokovic is close to tying up his third round
match two sets apiece, after dropping the first two sets

(35:57):
against a fellow Serbian player Loslow jere earlier number four
seat on the lady side, Elena Rebakina loss back to.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
You now, he had dropped the first set in their
only meeting prior to this, and then came back seven six,
seven six to take down Laslow the first time they.

Speaker 8 (36:17):
Not a Grand Slam best of three you're talking about earlier?

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Yes, well, the only other time.

Speaker 8 (36:21):
They Hey, this is a guy who's barely ranked in
the top forty in the world, and he wins the
first two sets six four six four tonight against a
guy who may soon, like in about a week, be
back to number one in the world.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Well, Steve, as we always talk about on the show,
I like chaos in the white lines. Yes, you decided
that that's appropriate. I like like I like things.

Speaker 8 (36:44):
With college football starting. You'll say this every season. You
love the chaos, and you're gonna get it with the
no longer a fourteen playoff after this.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Exactly all right? Coming up next week, one of the
NFL is upon us, and where are we finding the
most expensive seats? Surprise, you wouldn't have guessed this game.
We'll tell you what it is next on Fox.

(38:35):
for yourself at discover dot com. Slash Match Now we've
got some great games in Week one of your NFL season,
kicking off next Thursday night, where we have the Kansas
City Chiefs, the defending champs, hosting the Detroit Lions. We'll
get some good soundbites, no doubt, Dan Campbell. We had

(38:56):
the Andy Reid story of taking a play from a
custodian and turning that into a big time win. And
look as the NFL does, I don't think they need to,
but we get a lot of made for TV matchups
in Week one. Yes, but you know what the most
expensive game on the slate is. It's not the aforementioned

(39:16):
Lions KC standalone Thursday game. It's not even the Jets
hosting the Buffalo Bills. You have a Sunday afternoon game,
afternoon window in Foxborough as the Philadelphia Eagles head to
face the Patriots. Really, and you know why it's the

(39:40):
hottest ticket from a price perspective, because they're going to
celebrate the life, legacy and career of Tom Brady. Oh
there you go, all right, there you go, Thank you, Tommy.
I was And obviously rabid Eagles fans are gonna help
drive up prices as well, but they're gonna do a
little bit of love to now Raiders owner.

Speaker 9 (40:00):
Day.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Huh, well, you're gonna have a lot of those. It's
kind of like the Dodgers, I think have had thirty
seven bobblehead nights. Wow, they've celebrated everybody, everybody. Caleb Williams
got one twice. Lebron got one? Really yeah, okay, who
else Caleb Lebron? Whose Lebron? It was James Outman day,
I think it was yesterday. So his wife throughout the
first pitch? Oh wow, yeah, you know, it's it's been

(40:22):
a lot. I mean, there's gonna be a Joe Kelly
Mariachi jacket one here in the short order. Yeah, they
did that before, but you know, they either had leftovers
or they went back to the well leftovers, so they
did it again. But I mean it it's just the
excitement of a week one. The get in price for
that game is over two hundred twenty five bucks. And

(40:44):
then you've got the other one that's starting to circle.
And again it depends on your ticket brokers and where
you're going. You've got Green Bay Chicago.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah, that's always it's a rival.

Speaker 5 (40:53):
Yeah, I mean the whole Aaron Rodgers saying, I own
Chicago won't be happening now, so it'll be Trey Lance
stepping of those shoes and sand he owns owns Chicago
as well.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
What do you think, well, Jordan Love not Trey lances
in down, Sorry about that, Yeah of course, yeah, yeah,
but it's is it really a rivalry when they kick
your ass all the time? That's right, until Boston actually
won something, that's right. They were the little brother of
the Yankees for all those years.

Speaker 4 (41:24):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
The Bears have won nothing in my lifetime. I've watched
them for thirty plus years, get rolled pretty much twice
a year, Yeah, every year.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
Hell, I can go back to the Don Mkowski here
and find a couple of blowout wins for the backers.

Speaker 4 (41:40):
For you, you.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Really want to push it. When I'm really young, I
got Lynn Dickey, the magic Man. Hey, Don Mkowsky was
a beast. That's got a really good signature too. We're
hearing live inthe tire Ac dot Com, Fox Sports Radio
Studios and coming up next, Yeah, said Carrie played for
the Jets. We have to talk about the beautiful dream. Yeah,
