(00:50):
In the books, Lions twenty one, Chiefs twenty If the
season ended today, the Lions are in the Super Bowl,
as I predicted last night.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
If the season, if.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Somehow they cancel the season, Mike Harmon, because really, we
don't need anything more than just more episodes of Hard
Knocks with the Jets, and we got all the way
to February Jets Lion super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
No, why has it become the Jets by default? They're
not the second favorite? No, but they're the most interesting team.
You want to see that, it would be the Bengals.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
No, No, you Aaron Rodgers would have to go. We
have to go by the odds.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
You don't say, hey boy, you want a game, so
you earned your spot, but because you're interesting, you get in.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
You won the off season. The Jets won the off banner,
so winner of the off season. If you don't play
a season, they go to the Super Bowl. It's how
it works. Lions, how do you keep record?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Lions on those because a bunch of dopes on radio
and TV talking about Jets?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
What are you so mad? You're mad? Why you mad?
I'm sorry? Sorry, because you're just hand out. Because you're
handing the Jets.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
There's this place in the game of games, just because
your people had headlines and they got excited and they said, well,
it's in New York and this guy is a great
tourist and we've hated him for a couple of years,
so people will hate watch these guys.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Guy's a great tourist. He really was, though, right, I
mean you want to talk about going to.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Broadway and introducing people to the restaurants, and I do think.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
I do think the Jets went to see more musicals
than they had days of practices.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I believe that is true. I think they did.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
I think the game now under the direction of Aaron Rodgers,
who is the de facto head coach.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Jason Yeah, the season ended today. Guess what what, Patrick
Mahomes would have more interceptions than than Dak Prescott. This
is true. He'd also have the lowest quarterback rating in
the league. The Lions.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I told you I didn't need those five points, told
you last year are going to shock the world.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
But you didn't bet it twenty one. I mean I
didn't bet. How do you know? Because I know you?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Why don't Why not?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Just because I don't say every single thing betting and
not betting, you think I maybe I did bet, maybe
I bet more than a dollar.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
No, no, no, because we also, again we work in
sports radio and television. People have been claiming they've made
bets that they have not laid a dime on for
as long as this has been an institution.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I would know you didn't know. You don't You're lying.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I am Rich on personality. My friend, I am rich Rich.
So well, yeah, that's true. Maybe maybe that's what I bet.
Maybe I bet Big Max and I have free Big
Max coming my way for if I go to Detroit
right now, I would have to pay for anything I picked.
You could get a free Muskrat dinner. I get two
Muskrat dinners.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
You know, cases like castle you would get? They would,
they would.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
They would bring crave cases to my car and just
throw them in the back seat.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, frozen or not. Man, I'd be I'm the King
of Detroit. Look, but now I've got a picture him.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Go back to Goodfellas when they're outside and they're they're
selling the cigarette. It's okay, it's okay, Like they're selling
cigarettes out of the back of the car.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
I'm thinking of him getting grave cases. No, no, no, it's okay.
Have you ever been to the Detroit I would draw
the man.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I would drive down Woodward Avenue and I'd be in
one of those big convertibles and they'd be just throwing
you know, because you could throw in the little because
the white Castle comes in its own little case.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
They I'd be great, well, thank you. I'd just be
eating it.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Thank you, grabbing and shoving my mouth.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I don't know how much the King of Detroit.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I don't know how much grocery shopping you do as
opposed to Pam and like I doesn't look like I do.
I do most of it and do most of the cooking,
just the way the house sets up, and I enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Whatever. But you go down the frozen aisle. Uh huh.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
There's a lot of steak out for White Castle, including
like little mini pastry burgers.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
It's really kind of a weird space that we're occupying
here in twenty twenty three. Your connection. You want anything Detroit,
you got to come through me. Now.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I mean I own the town. I own the town.
I own the town lines to the super Bowl. They
were gonna win tonight. I vacation there.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
I had said, I don't care. I was gonna go
streaking through the Quad tonight. I own the town.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, probably, yes, probably yeah. Now, well, I'm the King
of Detroit. What about the King of Kansas City. Patrick
Mahomes met the media a few moments ago following the
opening night lost by the defending Super Bowl champions. I
haven't heard it, but I'm guessing he says something like.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Oh, you know, tonight wasn't all night.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Uh yeah, I give credit to the other team if
they played well, you know, just uh missed a lot
of opportunities and uh just didn't just didn't just cant
didn't get it done tonight.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
And we put this way. We got some time for
next week to fix some stuff and we'll get back
to it.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I'm thinking that's what he says. I have not heard it,
okay what he said, but I'm thinking that's what.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
See how close she come?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
All right, let's hear some Patrick Mahomes and from the triangle.
I knew this was coming, did you though?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yeah? I know I did.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
I nither that or was or you know, just let
Patrick sing, I'm sorry, sad, Patrick, I miss Kelsey. I
threw a pick be cause Tony has butterfingers.

Speaker 3 (06:10):

being green.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Let the man say, having to spend each day the color.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Of the leaves. He wasn't happy after the morning, and
I think it could be nicer. He's actually played the
guitar as well, same time.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Gold It's Jackson mom or something much more colorful like that.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
It's tough, man, I shouldn't have done that season or quarterback.
It's a curse that's getting me now. All right, now
we'll hear from don't punch me. Patrick Mahomes following the
loss to the Lions.

Speaker 2 (06:44):

Speaker 3 (06:58):
That's not good.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
It could be Washington, could be anything.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
The scary part is why does he have four already?
And there could be more? I don't know. Why does
he have? What else? All right? Ty you what else
you got?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Man?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
What else you got? Let's go what else you got?
Set it up?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Okay, here's Patrick Mahomes following the loss to the Lions.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I got him go.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
He's a reggae guy. Sure this also gets kids to
take baths. He's talking with Kelsey right now, getting that
path to get ready. The wide receivers all stunck man,
he's dangerously encroaching on the dude.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
You saw many passes I threw the canaris Tony guy
couldn't catch anything.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Man, I threw like a bunch to him you couldn't catch.
I don't know why I kept throwing the Super Bowl MVP.
You're gonna talk over him.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
You're telling me how good Sky Morris either, I don't
see him on the field. Threw to eleven guys tonight.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
He wasn't even one of them. You're kermit. You need
to help with your kermit. All right.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Now, let's hear from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes following the
loss the Lions.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Is there more I could have said? That made me sad?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Remember when I threw you that ball when it was
third down and ten and it hit the ground and.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
We had to punt again. That made me sad.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Right now, here's Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes following the loss
to the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Can you sing the offab a George?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
That the end of the sketch going in? We're just
going to YouTube. Ever, what a guy? You guys haven't
caught on. We're not gonna hear from Patrick mahone.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I could definitely take up church do what says? All
right now, let's hear.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
You're never gonna hear. I just want to keep doing
see what's next? See what's next? Right? You always want
to see what's next? They say about Stern? What are
people who don't like him say? I want to see
what he does?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Let's hear from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes following the twenty
one twenty defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
That'll be one hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
But I haven't said anything yet, Yes she did. Just
now okay, well I'm I'll pay all the way out.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Then it'll be one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Please have a seat. Is he getting charge for the loss?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Actually they're charging for interviews now. Oh so that's what
it is. Oh okay, well doctor, I see these strange
doctor a doctor and he's and he and he's a doctor.
So just the way we have that, okay from the
Fox Sports all right, So now he's doing updates. Now
he's now he's doing updates. He's taking over Seave the
Saga's job.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Tonight.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
I can tell you much trending. Not us.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
We sucked tonight, really not me. It was Tony. I
kept throwing the ball. I throw it to Tony, Tony, Tony.
He couldn't do it again. Now I'm tigging a little
bit of Chris Bourbon. But he kept dropping passes. We
couldn't do anything. We lost the Lions. This is really
really not good for us.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Man not good. Travis Kelcey, Fox.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmen.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Here, isn't it said it any better? There is nothing.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
That that Patrick Mahomes could have said that was better
than that.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
No, there's anything else. Oh yes, unless he just went
through several genres of music. I was boring and he sucks.
Unless he just said wow, said the Chargers fan.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Unless he said, you know, I'm just gonna quit. I'm quitting.
That's so I'm done. I'm done. I'm quitting. This seems terrible.
Listen to Lions. You don't think we're gonna smash them.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
I'm saying, dude, you saw the passes I threw to Tony.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
You saw those passes that he couldn't catch. Well, Jason,
I have a guy asking him, is he gonna stay
in Kansas City after the loss?

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Oh? Might?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Oh? This is all?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
This is okay? All right, let's say let's hear that. Yes,
he's asking him through song, come out. He's on his
way out. So there he goes ah bit Patrick Mahomes
wants out.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
You know, look, that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
You know we talked about a little bit last hour
and Jay got into a little bit more here. You know,
you could be a great x's and o's coach when
you can bring in a culture like Dan Campbell's able
to do. That's a big deal too. And you could
tell tonight even in the post game we played some
of Dan Campbell. My guys were great, we did this,
We did this. What did you learn?

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Tonight?

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Just validated that everything we knew coming into the season
we could do when we could win. I'm telling you
the Lions are legit. And I know that they played
well last year. Oh that's it, Like they're a nice story.
But they're gonna turn back into the Lions Lions. I
picked them for the Super Bowl for a reason. Their
offense is terrific. I said it was going to take
a few weeks to get going. They'll get Jamison Williams
back in week six. Tonight this is like found money

(11:36):
for them, and now everybody takes them seriously and now
it's WHOA, they're contenders. Now they really have work to do,
so as great as things that are for the Lions
right now, now the real work starts.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Well, I still have some concern that you made your
selection under duress, as in some nefarious forces back from
all your vacations in Detroit, have something over you that
maybe there's something there that you know has forced you
to make that pick.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
No no act out of character, no no go. A
bit crazy, is Je's Lions man Jets. I know it's insane.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Jet's lying, but I think it's important also to put
a put a pin into this right to tie them together,
I guess is really what I want to do. Is
you start with the Dan Campbell and building a culture,
and then talking about a coach who had great success
last year, a trying year, lots going on Sean McVay
and almost walking away and to a degree I think

(12:30):
we all you know, and certainly I'll raise my hand,
but you know, kind of bullied him back to at
least ponder getting back into the coach's box and getting
back on the sideline, because you can't do it after
one tough year, you know, to walk away because calls
into question a lot. You know, as you go, can

(12:51):
you handle adversity? But this year is gonna be a
difficult task. And I think the stuff that not only
from McVeigh and you can find the Unbreakable podcast have
already tweeted out a link in everything at swallen' dome,
but also just the the stuff Jay gave us about
his trip to Panama, his own health and things that
helped him and the idea of, hey, this is something

(13:14):
players specifically Cooper Cup because of the relationship in the
discussion with Sean McVay, but league wide like starting to
maybe open up the gates and discussions of treatments, trying
to get guys back on the field, and maybe exploring
new paths and avenues that we see all the time,
right all right, cry out therapy, all these other things.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Well that's what Kobe did for did he go to Germany?

Speaker 4 (13:38):
For Germany for blood stuff whatever? Like so like there's
all all of these things in these avenues in different
spots of the world. And then we start getting into
legality and what's available to you through the Players Association
and the agreements that you've signed, what's you know, considering
a performance enhancing it all. But it is a curiosity

(13:58):
to see, you know, what team embrace this and what
discussions of the next iteration, because the game is nothing
if you don't have stars on the field, right, Travis Kelcey,
you said stars though, Mike h
