You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Greetings, Welcome inside final hour tonight to Jason Smith Show
with my bass Friendmike Harmon OBO live from the Tirack
dot Com studios tyrac dot com. I'll help you get
there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
over ten thousand recommended installers, tyrack dot com. The way
tire buying should be well. Tonight was a night in

(00:51):
college football, getting set for the big nude kickoff coming
up in about eleven hours from now. And we watch
something tonight, Mike Harmon, that I couldn't be happier about.
We watched the comeback of Kansas Football. I think it's
two thousand and seven all over again. Jalen Daniels puts
on an absolute show tonight. Two hundred and seventy seven

(01:13):
yards through the air a couple of touchdowns. He also
runs for twenty four yards. Kansas is two and zero.
They're pretty good. And you watch Daniels play and there's
a reason why people are talking about him. You know,
we got hurt last year, but there was a lot
of potential Heisman hype surrounding him. He's been with Kansas
since twenty twenty one, but he's kind of like he

(01:33):
could be this year's Anthony Richardson, in which all of
a sudden, the guy shows up to wow us with
his physical skill and his ability that we hadn't really
heard a lot about before and suddenly play his way
up high into the NFL Draft. Certainly, watching Daniels tonight,
be able to throw on the run the way he is,
the way to escape from pressure the way he was,
and make plays downfield, he was a lot of fun

(01:55):
to watch.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
This is a kid that could find himself getting more
and more Heisman hype as the season goes on. And
if Kansas keeps winning, that'd be so cool, because right
there's not a lot I wouldn't give Mike to have
Kansas and Duke play for the national championship in college
football forget about college basketball. You give me two basketball schools.
Give me Kansas and Duke playing for the national championship.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Forgive me, father, for I have sinned. It has been,
however long since your last confects. You gotta get right, man,
you gotta get right if you're gonna start talking about
Kansas and Duke playing for a national title.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
But it does add another quarterback.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
And this is where this is really fun through the
first couple of weeks of this season, is that you
already had a couple of established names at the top
of that leaderboard. All right, here's Candub Williams, there's Drake
May and just going down now, Shador Sanders raises his hand.
Tonight we're watching Daniels do his thing. And look, they're
not all going to light the world on fire for

(02:57):
a full season and be at the top of the
draft board.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
But as we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Things here in September, yeah, it gets pretty exciting that way, right,
when we can have more teams come to the party
and just say, well, why not start looking and doing
schedule watching like we do with the NFL when it
gets released, right, that's a win.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Now, that's a loss. That's a win.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
But now we start looking ahead for some of these
teams based on the initial success of either the squad
as a whole or an individual player who raised It
makes you raise your eyebrow and pique your interest. Now
you're like, okay, well, what's his path towards a first
round grade or a potential shot to play in what

(03:42):
are left of the meaningful bowls? Slash the playoff system.
I think it's great for college football. And Illinois got
smashed around, so that's all good for me too.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Can you imagine and we're talking about the final for
the last four playoff in college football, and we can
get all basketball schools in it. I mean it's too
at Yukon stinks. Could be nice to get Yukon in there.
We get Syracuse in there? Why not, right, Syracuse, North Carolina,
Duke in Kansas.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
But I mean this also gets us some footage of
Mark Mangino back on the sidelines there, Yeah, wandering around.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yeah, that was good for good for business.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Oh tell you, two thousand and seven the most insane
year of college football that I that I've ever seen,
Absolute insanity from top to bottom. I really there needs
to be some kind of deep dive like I want
to see like one of those forget about at Netflix quarterback.
I want to see the two thousand and seven season
because you're talking about the end of the year where
Missouri and Kansas and West Virginia were all potentially set

(04:40):
to play for the national championship. Still that he was
so fast seems slightly good. Came up with the Texans. Oh,
and that was a fun year. Jeremy Macklin with Missouri.
He was a big star there and Chase Daniel was
the quarterback there. They put up tons of points. I
mean these teams, like really, these.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Are the teams.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah, the teams were looking at can we just could
play for the national title? Two thousand and seven season,
Absolute insanity. Oh my god, it was so good. Now
as we get ready for tomorrow and college football, we'll
have more on Colorado coming up a little bit because
they are they're gonna be America's big nude kickoff team,
by the way, You're gonna you're gonna see them kicking
off at noon every single day now the rest of
the season. But we're getting into Week one of the NFL.

(05:22):
We gave us some bold predictions last hour. Who's gonna
have the most passing yards this week, most points in
the game, fewest points in the game. Gave us some
big stuff about longest odds to make the playoffs. How
about a couple of upset specials for Week one in
the NFL. Sure, let's go, and I'm gonna I'm gonna
continue with the theme. We talked about Colorado Nebraska and
I told you last hour. Yeah, I'll take Nebraska in

(05:45):
this game because the line makes no sense right in Colorado,
coming off the win they had against TCU last week,
fifteenth ran team in the Country National Title game last year,
they go on the road, score forty five points and win.
They're now coming back for their home opener against Nebraska
team that needed a trick play to score one touchdown
against a lower seeded, lower tiered Big Ten team in Minnesota.

(06:08):
And it's just a three point spread, right, which tells
me it's a trap game and something is up. I
feel the same way about the Eagles and the Patriots. Right.
The Eagles have the most talented roster in all of
the NFL Most Talented Roster Super Bowl. Last year, they
made additions. This year they're even better. Patriots have a

(06:28):
bottom three roster in the NFL, right bottom three roster,
and yet it's a three and a half point game. Really,
it's a three and a half, that's all. The Eagles
are favored by a three and a half points in
this game? Are you kidding me? Which tells me something
is up? And this is a trap game? Randall.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Cunningham's not playing, No.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
He's not. I just saw he was ruled out. It's
very very difficult. Keith Jackson not playing, Harold Carmichael not playing.
It's gonna be it could be a tough game. But
I don't understand how this is only a four and
a half point game. Again, the team that went to
the Super Bowl last year and got better in the offseason.
This tells me something is up. So yeah, why not

(07:05):
give me the Patriots and three and a half or
four wherever it is it's actually down to three and
a half now in some places. I'll take that, and
I'll take the Patriots, and I'll think that Vegas knows something,
because again, when nothing makes sense with the line, you
have to realize it's there like that for a reason.
So well, well, I mean, I'll talk to Todd Furman
in a few minutes. Hey, Todd, I want to parlay
Nebraska and New England. What kind of odds can I

(07:26):
get on that? But that's what I'll do. Give me
the Patriots in this game.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
I do like the cast potential they are celebrating. Tom Brady,
get the emotion in the room. Bill O'Brien's your new OC.
So the talk of Alabama Mack color me intrigued. Brady,
you never can tell. Right at the end of that
commercial that's got all the dann Ma Reno or whatever
and the little recliners next to the pool, you've got

(07:53):
Edelman and Brady, and Brady says, I think maybe what
if we came back? And Edelman just yells at him.
So it's kind of fun as we look at for
upsets on the board. I like those home dogs, no
question about it, and I'm gonna pick one over in Pittsburgh.
You don't like Kenny Pickett, but he's starting to grow
on you a little bit. Najie Harris, Jalen Warren in

(08:14):
the backfield, and anytime TJ. Watt plays, I feel pretty
good about my chances because you know me, I'm a
a rock prety skeptic. The thing I liked about him
most is when Paul Hayman announced him on Fox ahead
of the NFC title game, when it.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Became all about Brock Purty.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I know, because you can't. You can't say his name
regular anymore. You know you can't. No, you can't know
you specifically can't just say rock Party.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
You can't do it because that's the only way I
can hype him up, because I think he's a jag.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
You can You can never go to San Francisco again,
That's okay, I have.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
No plans to anytime soon. Have you been up there lately?
They beat you?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Dude, Dude gear a Deli square. Man, that's like going
to Mecca. Man, Come on, yeah, but I go into
Hollywood for that. No, I don't need to go all
the way up to Sama. You go, you go to
this Gear, Although I sir, that's seven hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Although I could, I could eat that ice cream while
staring at Alcatraz and going, you know, you never get any.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Of this good stuff, all the ghosts of Alcatraz.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
But I know I'm gonna take Pittsburgh all the offensive
weaponry San Francisco while they're they're ready to go, and
you know Nick Boss in the fold and everything else.
Give me Tomlin at home as a home dog in
an opener with an opportunity for TJ.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
Watt to get after it early. Yeah, I got.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
Whenever he plays, they win. So I got to take
those w's before the next injury takes them off the field.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
The other upset special I will give you, and it's
this comes off of what Jerry Jones had to say today,
Not Ai Jerry Jones, the real Jerry Jones. That so
this year is it's not a super bowler bust year
for the Cowboys. Now. The crazy thing about Jerry Jones,
and I could finish that with a lot of things,
is that as meddlesome as he is, he's almost too patient.

(10:13):
Like that's another big fault of Jerry Jones that we
don't get into enough, is that the guy is too patient.
He sticks with what isn't quite enough to win way
longer than most other teams do. Right, I mean, hey,
as an owner, great a player, Hey, I like that.
He gives me a chance, but he doesn't move on
like he should. A right not a super Bowl or
bust year. I'll tell you this much. They are opening

(10:33):
up with a big fat l against the Giants. Right,
whether Darren Waller plays or not. You know, Brian Dable
is smart. Look, Brian Dable's one of the best game
day coaches in all of football. Right, it is one
of the best coach He was the best coach in
the league last year. He would always have the advantage
on Sunday. He knows Darren Waller's a guy that may
be in and maybe this is who Darren Waller is. Right,

(10:53):
He's all of a sudden he's questionable for Sunday with
an injury, because of course he is, because that's.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
Darren Waller's entire career.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Store It's one great, healthy year and the rest has been. Yeah,
he's hurt in and out. So you know, the Giants
have plans if Darren Waller can't play. They added a
lot of weapons in the offseason. Whether it's back to
Isaiah Hodgens, who turned out to be a revelation the
end of the season. Maybe won Dale Robinson plays Sunday.
Maybe not doesn't matter. They have enough guys to catch passes.
They added two or three new playmakers. You added Jalen

(11:22):
Hyatt as well. This is the only thing the Giants
were missing. Their defense is good enough, their running game
is good enough. Daniel Jones is good enough in that
system that Brian Davile brought from the Bills. He's Josh
Allen Light. The Giants are loaded. They are being undervalued
by everybody. And this is a team. There's a playoff
team last year. I like him for the NFC title game.
You like him for the Super Bowl. They're opening up

(11:44):
at home. They are healthy ish outside of Darren Waller.
They beat the Cowboys on Sunday and start off one
to zero. I love it.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
The Waller thing, certainly is the big wrinkle that could
send things a sun But Saquon Barkley there with quad
Zilla ready to roll it up.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Wait a second, guys, Karon Waller's hurt. Yeah, shock it all.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
I know that's difficult, Frostburg, I know you gotta to
wrap your head around it. It's very difficult.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I pause on that for a minute. It's it's let
that really sink in for you to narrow underdog but
I would take the Packers with the one or one
and a half wherever you're looking there, Jordan Love on
the road in that first game at Soldier Field, forty
two is the over Undersmith, So not exactly.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Wow, you mad at the Bears? Are you mad at
the Bears? Your team?

Speaker 5 (12:41):
I'm a realist.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I can't believe we just transferred.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
The property to the next quarterback.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
You could pick anybody and instant I'm tea betting against
my team week one. That's what's happening.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
But we're going upset hunting. I'm not gonna because I
was in lockstep with you on the Giants. I like
the opportunity certainly there. I I picked the Steelers. I
don't think Cleveland's beaten Cincinnati, although I think it'll be
a nice competitive game. I mean, I guess the other
one that that I hang out with. If you don't
want me to bash my beloved Chicago Bears, I'll take

(13:14):
Tennessee plus three.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
At New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
You do like Tennessee?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
You are as a bit of a slug fest. Yeah,
Derek Carr is well Derek Carr. No Alvin Kamara, although
I do like Jamal Williams, But Tennessee, DeAndre Hopkins, Derrick
Henry and Ryan Tannehill Slugfest won by a field goal. Now,
we did get a note from our guy, Bernie Fratto,

(13:39):
because you know he's actively listening to the network. He
is an active listener, Yes, Bernie, Yes, yes, So super
Bowl loser since two thousand and five, two and sixteen
against the number opening Weekendo.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Well, I'm feeling better about the Patriots. I mean, I
don't feel better because I don't want to see them
win because obviously Jets. But I'm feeling better about Mike.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
When the Jets are in last place in the division
and you're looking up at the Bay.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Stop or week stop Jason Science.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon, Ty Shirt. Do you know who this group is?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
You know the Whippets?

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yes, the Whippets?

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Yes, yeah, that's a whole other thing.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
The name of the band was Devo Oh and I
want you to. I want you to now it's for
the rest of the show. Play all the stuff off
Devo's best of album huh the best of ds Look
look for the best of Devo.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Isn't that like a thing you used to do back
in the day when you missed a show you Devo?

Speaker 1 (14:42):
It tried, yes back in the day from Friday, Oh Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Divo, Debo and Bevo is the uh yeah, the color
the yeah steer running around?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
So Week one of the NFL is upon us. Week
two of college football. Nobody better to talk to, so
much stuff to get to. Former odds maker at Caesars
Now hosts of the Bet the Board podcast. You can
see him on CBS as well. Our longtime insider in
Las Vegas, Todd Ferman. He's on Twitter at Todd Ferman.
What's happened to Buddy? How are you tonight?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
I'm doing well, gentlemen, Just trying to get myself mentally prepared,
not just for a full Saturday at football, but obviously
the professional variety on Sunday should be an up hitting weekend,
as we'll get a much better indication of exactly how
bad the Jets A're going to be In twenty twenty three.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
There we go stop fourteen and three. We win the
first fourteen games, we sit our guys to never mind.
Let's start with college football tomorrow time, because this is
something we've talked about tonight that this doesn't make sense
to us, So make this make sense. Colorado is coming
off a game in which they scored forty five on
the road against TCU, a top fifteen team, coming off

(15:53):
the national championship game a year ago. They're now opening
up at home against Nebraska team that looked awful and
couldn't score a touchdown outside of a trick play against
a lower level Big Ten team in Minnesota. How is
this a field goal game? I don't understand. You're telling
me on a neutral field Colorado and Nebraska is a

(16:13):
toss up.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Really well, I'll tell you that this game had had
been played Week one, would have been Nebraska minus seven,
seven and a half. Obviously, Colorado caught the college football
world by storm with their dominant performance offensively against TCU.
But gentlemen, I'm convinced that three of us might be
able to go out there against that TCU defense and
be able to put up seventeen points in our own right.
So yeah, that's good. I think as the season progresses,

(16:36):
that win over TCU may lose a little bit of
its fluster. But at the same time, Shador Sanders looked
a part as a bona fide Division one quarterback with
five hundred and ten yards passing. Travis Hunter did things
that we haven't seen in the college football ranks, and
there's no doubt there's good reason why all eyes are
focused on Colorado and Nebraska and the early kickoff at
folsom Field. But we'll see how they handled the weight

(16:56):
of expectations. I do wonder though, if Nebraska has enough
athletes to be able to slow down to Colorado starting too.
That is extremely good on paper, but you begin to
wonder if they have to play a little bit more
in the way of depth pieces of this season progresses.
If that's when rubber meets the road for the Buffaloes.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Well I guess go ahead, Well I'm sorry, so just
go back to hear now. So tell me why then
the overall interest, because we've heard that a quarter of
the money being spent and gambled on college football this
weekend is all going down on Colorado? Is this They're
a cool team to bet? Is this? Hey? This should
be a blowout. They should be beating the crap out
of Nebraska. Why do you see this big anomaly tonight?

Speaker 3 (17:33):
I mean, people love a great storyline, and that's exactly
what Deon Sanders has brought to Bold or trying to
restart of that program. So people want to be part
of something that they feel is bigger than the sport itself.
And for anybody that's spent last Saturday on social media,
there were a number of prominent sports personalities who aren't
exactly known for engaging in terms of college football content
that we're taking notice of everything that we were seeing there.

(17:55):
So that's part of the reason why the general public
thinks they're being able to steal from the sports books
laying that very short number at minus two and a half,
and we'll see exactly how things play out, because I
can tell you professional betters when that number will actually
opened with Colorado four and a half five point favorite.
They were taking the points with Nebraska thinking that it's
just a road too far across, at least for game two,

(18:16):
knowing that suddenly you go from being the hunter like
Colorado was week one, to being the hunted and Nebraska
coming in without any expectations on their shoulders given the
loss that you mentioned Smith coming up short thirteen ten
against Minnesota in their opener.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
A couple of huge games from last week that sent
people a bit shocked as you watched Brian Kelly gets
smacked around, then Dablosh Sweeney gets smacked around. This week
we get Texas and Alabama. Alabama looking like Nick Saban's
got himself a squad seven point favorites from this one.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Todd Well, we look at these two teams. I think
the big question that we'll get an answer to tomorrow be
in regarding Alabama secondary. Malachi Moore and Jalen Key not
exactly full participants all week in that defense to backfield,
and if those two can't go, it could leave a
gaping hole for the fletick receiving corps that Texas will
bring with Ady Mitchell Ozavier Worthy and they're tight Endjytavian Sanders.

(19:12):
At the same time, I think this Texas defense is
a lot better than the being given credit for. That's
one of the areas since the Stark Desion took over
in Austin that they've really beefed up. It's gonna allow
them to make a much more seamless transition to the SEC.
But going on the road, winning in Tuscaloosa, especially at night,
has typically taken a Heisman caliber quarterback, so Quini viewers
will need to be at his absolute best. And if

(19:33):
what I saw last week from their offensive line was
any indication, he may need to get the ball out
of his hand quickly otherwise he's going to be under
durest from the start. But I think Texas hangs around
and what'll be a relatively low scoring game, and I
actually think the Dog has a little bit of merit
and maybe a chance to win this game out right.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
All right, let's head to the NFL Week one tons
of action. We have the Eagles in the Patriots, a
game that I'm circling that one for the spread as well. Again,
I feel like that's kind of a trap game. The
Eagles have the best roster in the NFL, the pages
of a bottom three roster, They're coming off the super Bowl,
and yet it's three and a half points. Why is
it such a low number for the Eagles and the

(20:10):
Patriots in this one?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
A little bit of a challenging spot for Philadelphia, who's
going to see their strength to schedule drastically improve year
over year. But I'm not sure they're necessarily going to
get tested in this particular spot. When you look at
New England, there's no doubt that there are plenty of
questions about that roster as far as their skill, position,
talent is concerned. You know, where do they have difference
makers that are able to put fear into opposing defensive coordinators.

(20:32):
The other thing the New England is faced with in
this spot is an offensive line that's been a little
bit banged up. We're not exactly sure what they're starting
five will be, but we could also see mother nature
play a role some inclement weather expected a little bit
earlier than anticipated. If that gets thrown in the mix,
I think that obviously becomes the great equalizer. I can
tell you we've seen professional money coming on the Patriots.

(20:52):
I'm not part of that group, and I don't think
I really want part of a total that's as low
as it is. Knowing that, I think Philadelphia's defense should
regress a little bit when they see the opposing offenses
they face step up in class. I'm just not sure
New England falls into that particular bucket.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Now Smith's been giving me a lot of grief because
I've been very dismissive of the Bears. Todd got some
notes from people who listen to the latest bet the
Board podcast addressing the Bears, their changes and where they're
at this year. Do you want to take some of
the weight out of what everybody's getting all excited about
with Justin Fields and the Bears giving their turnover.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Well, I think for the Bears this week, they're going
to be in a little bit better spot than we
anticipated early in the week. If Christian Watson and Romeo
Dobbs can't go, that really puts a massive crimp into
what Green Bay had at their disposal as far as
difference makers in the receiving group, puts a lot more
pressure on Jordan Love as a true full time starting quarterback,
So you'd expect Green Bay to lean on their ground

(21:48):
game of Aaron Jones and get aj Dillon involved. At
the same time, I think Green Bay's defense was a
group that underachieved last year, so looks for them to
be significantly better. But for the first time in a while,
they're the actual expect on this Bears team. And while
they went out and spent a lot of money in
free agency to kind of bolster that defense, there are
still some major concerns about how that stop unit is
going to gel. And when we look at the Bears,

(22:10):
Kevin Jenkins has spent more time injured than he has
in the starting lineup. This is a Bears group in
front of Justin Field that did him no favors last year,
and I'm not quite sure they're going to be cohesive
from day one. So should be a fascinating game, not
one that I'm running to invest in, but I think
it's going to tell us an awful lot about two
teams who are fighting to try and get into that
upper echelon and compete for what they think should be

(22:32):
a wide open NFC.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
North Vegas inside of Todd Furman with us here The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon live from the tirec
dot Com studios. All right, so, if that's not a
game you're running to, and what are you running to
invest in?

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Jets?

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Right, Jets on the money line? What are you running
to invest in this week?

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:48):
I'm not running it back to Jets either, although I
do think that game will be very defensive minded like
he saw in the two meetings last year. In my opinion,
knowing what's at stake for these two teams that want
to get off to a fast start. It will be
the first team to twenty four that gets out of
met Life Monday with a victory. I think the Titans are,
you know, have Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
We're not playing Zach Wilson on Monday. You know, we're
playing Aaron bleeping Rodgers. Eight is playing quarterback for us Man.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
And you did watch Aaron Rodgers last year in Week
one really struggle to acclimate to a little different offense
than what he's used to. So Aaron Rodgers may not
look like vintage Aaron Rodgers, especially right out of the gates.
And if you're expecting this Jets team to go out
there and hang thirty eight points on Buffalo, I think
you're going to be a little disappointed come Monday night. Smith.

(23:30):
But in terms of games that I think do have value,
I like the Tennessee Titans plus the points against the
New Orleans Saints. I think this is a group that's
much healthier defensively, and when you look at what they're
able to do, it's stack up, stop the run, and
get after the opposing quarterback. I think the Saints offensive
line is being given a little bit too much credit
given some of the familiar faces there. So I think
the Titans not only covered, but win that game out right,

(23:51):
and I'll put the Vikings on upset alert. I think
this is a Bucks team that nobody expects a whole
heck of a lot from this year. And while I
don't really believe they're going to be a team that
can p for a division title in Week one when
that roster's healthy, they have the pieces in the defensive backfield.
I think Baker Mayfield will find it easy to navigate
against the Vikings defense. And I really believe Tampa has
an excellent chance to go on the road and win
in the Twin City to knock up the Bikes.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Todd, we talked about Philly and New England. Four other
home dogs on the slate, including the Steelers and the Giants,
two of the marquee games. Either of those squads stand
out to you in these spots, you.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Know, the Giants not so much. I'm a little bit
concerned that Darren Wawler showed up on the injury report
today with a strange hams You're ready, I'm not shot
at all.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
He's just concerned.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Before Week one, knowing that he looked to be the
number one weapon in that Giants passing attack. So we'll
see exactly how Daniel Jones and Mike Kafka adjust accordingly.
And when you look at the Dallas Cowboys, I know
Dak Prescott catches a lot of strays, but he's still
a quarterback in twenty eight games against nftast opponent that's
compiled the twenty two and six ATS record. So I

(24:59):
think that Cowboys roster very talented. I have questions about
the coaching staff, but I think it's Cowboys are passing
Sunday night. When you look at some of the other
divisional dogs that are out there, look home. Underdogs have
been great in the past. I think the Steelers are alive,
but that shit may have sailed as that number is
no longer available in that two and a half three range.
Cleveland getting a lot of buzz from professional betters, but

(25:20):
I think the one underdog that people are overlooking is
the Indianapolis Colts and the debut of Shane Stike and
Anthony Richardson. This is a Jaguars offensive line that has
some major questions they'll have to answer, and I wouldn't
be shocked if the element of surprise worked in Indie's favor,
So don't roll out the Colts doing something that I
don't think any pebody really believes in and maybe knocking
off the front runner at least the odds on favor

(25:41):
to win the AC South this year in surprising fashion.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
He's on Twitter at Todd Furman, That is, at Todd Furman.
Check out the bet the Board podcast. See him on
CBS as well, Todd. As always, buddy, appreciate your time.
Looking forward to another season with you, my friend. Thanks
so much.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Always a pleasure, gentlemen, enjoy opening weekend of the NFL
and harm hope for your sake, Northwestern shows a little
bit better against the college football jugger not known.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
As hey Man.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
That one point favorite.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Hey, you know what's the purfect bounce back after you
lose the State University of New Jersey in dominant fashion?

Speaker 5 (26:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (26:15):
True, Thanks Todd, See you buddy, have fun there. Yeah,
they're one point favorites tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Hey, all right, you hang a banner on that. I
really hang a banner. I mean I watched the Lions
hang Canarius Tony's jersey to the rafters at Fortfield today.
It was really exciting. It was very quickly the entire
city turned out.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
They burned, they burned his gloves, and some demons came
flying out of there too,
