referees flag flew right away and this was a penalty
that pushed the Bills back. He has just completed another
pass to Stefon Diggs. The Bills have the ball. Now
it's gonna be second down and about six Stefan Diggs
signaling for a first down. When he's about eight yards
short of the first down. The Bills call their final

time out of the game, so we have time to
take our breath here for a second, d J Reid
was on Stefan Diggs. Reid was not there. Diggs turns around.
They're moving him around the field so he's not always
matched up against Sauce Gardner. Looks like this is pitch
and catch with him and Digs. That's where the football's going.
And right now the Bills are a little bit outside
of field goal range. I would say they're about maybe

ten or twelve yards into a makeable field goal. But
again they use their final timeout twenty nine seconds left
to go. The Jets lead this sixteen thirteen, and of
course they have played the vast majority of this game
without Aaron Rodgers, who left on the fourth play of
the game with what could be a very serious ankle
or achilles injury. We won't know until an MRI tomorrow.

Yeah, all the Internet doctors have gotten together and they've
thrown everything like it's the Waki game of operation. A
lot of glowing parts on the body of Aaron Rodgers
right now as to what could be the injury, So
we'll await that in the interim. You've gotten a really
game effort out of the Jets squad. In his absence,

Zach Wilson's completed two thirds of his pass attempts. You've
seen the run game, myriad options there, Brese Hall, the explosiveness,
Dalvin Cook coming up with some big runs, and you've
seen Michael Carter with a couple of big runs and
a couple of big blocks.

So you've had a full team effort. Robert Sala has
got to be pleased with the intestinal fortitude, because a
lot of times you have those injuries, the emotion goes

on the night.

The Bills have the ball the Jets thirty two yard line,

I got you and whatever. And you look at the

know obviously you'd like to make it more comfortable than

where you're sitting right now. The ball on the jets

a lot of players at him. He gets hit on

could be an achilles. It's we won't know until tomorrow.

Till now is that Aaron Rodgers did walk under his
own power. Though they did bring the cart out for

on his anks. He got out the cart right and

helped by anybody. And more importantly, Rogers, the X rays
on his ankle were negative. So there is That doesn't
mean it's not doesn't mean it's not serious, doesn't mean

until there's an MRI. Of course, I'm bracing for the
worst because it's the Jets. This is how it goes.

for a long time. And I remember going into this,

And I said to myself, well, and they're talking a
lot about Chris Jenkins, Chris Jenks about I'm going how
long is Chris Jenkins really gonna play? How long is
he really gonna play? And I think it was three
plays until he got hurt. He was done for the season,
and I think that was the end of his career
with the Jets. So it's like it's like with Aaron Rodgers.

I'm looking at it like, Okay, here's Aaron Rodgers and
now four plays and now who knows when he's gonna play.

No, but that's the thing, right at this point, any
game he would play for you the rest of the
year has found money. Right, it would be a happy accident,
because I think we all after watching that multiple times,
after seeing all of the people who have worked in
and around NFL teams that comment on this stuff, the

he do? He runs into his own blocker and he fumbles,
and the Jets recover, kick a field goal, Bills kick
a field goal to go overtime. But still Josh Allen
not quite the butt fumble because he ran into his
own player, but he didnt run into.

But you had the Jets butt fumble back in twenty twelve,
and it's been nothing but awfulness from there on. Now,
maybe the curse has been lifted because they actually benefited
from a butt fumble.

might be over, and maybe it is. I think that
means it be over.

left in his weight.

The Bill's a pretty good team, right, super Bowl favorite
I talked about maybe their window is closing. I don't
think it's quite as wide open as as people think
it is. It's the Bills aren't just this great team.
Every year they've had chances, They've had different personnel. Josh
Allen from the beginning of last year to now isn't
the same quarterback. Turns the ball over a lot since

the most right, but the last couple of years has
been really rough for him turning the ball over. He's
not been the same quarterback. So I think the Bills
windows a little bit more shut than people think it is.
But it doesn't matter. This is still a team that
was coming in Super Bowl hopes, great quarterback, great receiver
in Stefawn Diggs. They were going to win this game.
What did the Jets show you that with a quarterback
(19:23):
with no reps for the last few weeks can come
in and the Jets can play a game of great defense,
terrific running backs with Breese Hall and Dalvin Cook. And
I was kidding last hour when I said you can.
But that's how the Jets can win. They can treat
it like it's nineteen eighty five. A great defense, you
give the ball a ton to Breeze Hall, a ton
of Dalvin Cook. Now, it's a lot of stress to
(19:44):
put on a game and a team to win a
certain way. But when you can do that because you
have that great defense, you have two of the best
running backs in football, you can win that way.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
But the Ravens are done.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
I mean, you can't tell me that the forty nine
or have exactly been winging the ball all over the
field the last couple of years. It's been predicated on
running the ball and playing good defense. The Steelers, even
in the Ben Roethlisberger, even if the total numbers were there,
they were still predicated on a good ground game and
a defense to help hold the day.

So, yeah, it just makes it tougher to win.

Sure, margin for error is not that's right, right, you
get down sixteen to six, suddenly you're not gonna win
that much.

Well, but you know that puts more on your defense.

So if it's all about, you know, being lost in
the sauce and tonight you've got a hat trick of interceptions.
I mean, you've got you've got an opportunity to maybe
do some great things. Yeah, are they gonna be Do
they have the great sex appeal game to game?

Are you gonna run out and score thirty points a game? No,
But you can grind out wins in this league as
long as Legatron stops knuckleball in the damn thing like
he did today. I mean, how many times did you
sweat when when Zerline went to kick? And I don't
know how much of that is the field soggy versus
something just wrong with the hold and how he's striking

the ball, but some anxious moments in the kicking game.
But defensively, you're gonna be in every game, right, You've
got at every level, You've got playmakers, and Williams just
just roughs everything. And now you add Whitehead being able
to be a ballhawk down the center of the field.
Gardner gets away with whatever, he gets away with it.

We saw that on display again tonight. That's fine, call
him like he's an all pro and all world guy,
that's fine. But that gives you a competitive advantage. So
as long as Zach Wilson doesn't get put in situation
where he's got to force the ball down field. Because
did we really talk about any other wide receiver for
them tonight? Noach, it was Garrett Wilson. Five catches, thirty

thirty four yards, and that's really it, right, We didn't
really talk about any other wide receivers. It's the run game,
it's the defense, and Garrett Wilson on the tip to himself.

straight down the field?

But it is the kick straight down the field. Make

the guy move, may go, try to judge a fly
ball right and give your coverage seam a chance. Instead
straight up, he feels it and no one's dearing and
gets a full head of steam before the first run
onslaught of attackers. I don't know, bad decision, even worse coverage,

and when it's all said and done, we get a
moment to end what was one of the stranger weak
ones in the National Football League we've seen in sometimes
the nose shows, the runovers. Aaron Rodgers gets hurt and
Josh Allen forgot how to complete a pass.

Jet's head coach Robert Solop. So that's mixed emotions. That's
the How do you look it up in the dictionary
and see that mixed emotions and you will see that.

Either that it's a nice review of the classic Rolling

big deal. Aaron Rodgers is thirty nine years old and
he is coming off and he's going to be coming
off some kind of man. We don't know if it's
a tear, whatever it is, but he is going to
be coming off major Achilles injury. Does he continue to play?

He said the other day, I want to play it
along forty five, which you shouldn't say that. Don't say.
Don't say, you know, what's the old phrase? You make
plans and God laughs, right, like, don't tell you want
to play to forty five. Don't say you want to
play at forty five.

Don't do it.

This is a real serious thing because now he's got
to love wanting to come back, wanting to play, being
able to do it. And yes, there is a lot
of money he has due for next year, but thirty nine,
coming off a real serious Achilles, it's up in the air.
If he ever plays for the Jets. I mean, let's
be honest, is he ever gonna play for the Jets?
I mean, I don't know that he does. Will he
(30:32):
try to come back? I'm sure he will, Will he
be the same? It's gonna be really hard for me
to say, Okay, at forty years old, coming off the
most major injury you can, you're gonna come back and
play now, Vinny Testaverdi when he was almost that old.
We've talked about nineteen ninety nine because it's exactly what
happened to the Jets in ninety nine, and take you back.
You know twenty some odd years the Jets are had
(30:53):
a super Bowl type season. They coming off the AFC
Championship Game in ninety eight against the Broncos. It was
supposed to be a Super Bowl or bust year. And
Vinnie testa Verdi was in his late thirties at the time.
I mean, he's he could still play now, even though
he's like eighty. Toris Achilles. On a handoff there was
a fumble he jumped to get at Torris' achilles. He
was out for the rest of the season. He came back,
(31:15):
and he came back and played a little bit in
two thousand, but he wasn't quite the same. The Jets
drafted Chad Pennington and then in two thousand and one,
two thousand, they made that push in two thousand and one,
two thousand and two, so they brought testa Verdi back,
but he wasn't quite the same quarterback. Now this is again,
this is twenty four years ago, and now medical advancements
(31:35):
are out there, but you gotta be prepared that. I mean,
I don't know. If you ask me right now, do
I ever see Aaron Rodgers play quarterback for the Jets again?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
I would say yeah, but it would be a yeah,
but maybe not because you move on. I don't know
what kind of situation.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Because if they like Zach Wilson and he's gonna play
all year, you're gonna know if Zack's good enough to
play next year and mary Aaron Rodgers comes back, maybe
he doesn't. But what like the Jets have to go forward.
If Zach Wilson stinks and and this season turns into
something really weird, they know that they got to get
another quarterback. Do you go sign do you draft somebody?
Do you go out and get a middle of the
(32:14):
road guy, Do you go get a veteran that's gonna start?
And if Aaron Rodgers comes back? I mean, you got
all these questions. I would say, it's it's I mean,
I don't want to I mean fifty to fifty. But
if you ask me if Aaron Rodgers plays for the
Jets again, I would like to say yes, but I'm
not confident in it because I don't again being thirty
nine coming off this, he's not been had a bad injury.
(32:36):
This is really really difficult. He didn't have a big
preseason to go through things, and now you're talking about
four snaps and he ruptures his achilles.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Now, this reminds me of a little situation they had
where he had myriad injuries and you know the last
place he played, and what did they do.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
They eventually drafted a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
And everybody was mad about it, and he goes out
and has a couple of MVP seasons. Now I'm not
gonna crown Jordan Love because he did play against the Bears,
but he acquitted himself quite nicely in the season debut.
But people were mad. Eventually, you've got to start looking
down the road. Most of these teams that have had
long standing successful quarterbacks, that's the one part of the
(33:14):
game plan. It was, we're gonna ride this until it
doesn't work anymore. Pittsburgh did it with Ben Roethlisberger. The
Chargers did it with Philip Rivers. The Packers, after watching
what happened when Rogers got hurt the collarbone stuff and
Brent Huntley had to play, derailing what looked like a
pretty good team. They said, we're not gonna do this
again for the Jets to go into whatever they could
(33:37):
do now. And we'll go through the list of veteran
quarterbacks and backups that are out there, because really, pick
your champion out of this group, including maybe a former
Jet who still wants to play football, but we'll get
to him in a minute. You can't kick the can
down the road with the roster as currently constructed, young guys,
because that's what you got in a lot of these spaces.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Right.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
Forget about Dalvin Cook for a minute. A lot of
these other guys are still on their rookie deals. You
don't want to lose the opportunity to try to grasp
the brass ring while they're still young, still under team control, etc.
And so looking at it for next year, I'm gonna
roll the dice that a forty year old guy is
gonna come back off a major injury where his mobility
(34:21):
was already being questioned, and now he comes back off
this part of what made him so elite for years
is gone. No, I've got to start looking down the
road to what's next, whether it's Zach Wilson or Option
B via the draft, or somewhere else.

So there it is the news justin. Aaron Rodgers a
serious achilles injury. It's not good. The Jets will know
more tomorrow, after an MRI and after they're done celebrating
the twenty two to sixteen win over the Bills in overtime.

five left to go, and now there's thirty five seconds
left to go. It is first and twenty for the Bills.
They completed a couple of passes. They are on their
side of midfield. Stefan Diggs caught a pass for about
fourteen yards and then Josh Allen went right back to
him for a completion for about twelve except push off

by Digs. You can see it on the replay. The
referees flag flew right away and this was a penalty
that pushed the Bills back. He has just completed another
pass to Stefon Diggs. The Bills have the ball. Now
it's gonna be second down and about six Stefan Diggs
signaling for a first down. When he's about eight yards
short of the first down. The Bills call their final
(01:56):
time out of the game, so we have time to
take our breath here for a second, d J Reid
was on Stefan Diggs. Reid was not there. Diggs turns around.
They're moving him around the field so he's not always
matched up against Sauce Gardner. Looks like this is pitch
and catch with him and Digs. That's where the football's going.
And right now the Bills are a little bit outside
of field goal range. I would say they're about maybe
(02:18):
ten or twelve yards into a makeable field goal. But
again they use their final timeout twenty nine seconds left
to go. The Jets lead this sixteen thirteen, and of
course they have played the vast majority of this game
without Aaron Rodgers, who left on the fourth play of
the game with what could be a very serious ankle
or achilles injury. We won't know until an MRI tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Yeah, all the Internet doctors have gotten together and they've
thrown everything like it's the Waki game of operation. A
lot of glowing parts on the body of Aaron Rodgers
right now as to what could be the injury, So
we'll await that in the interim. You've gotten a really
game effort out of the Jets squad. In his absence,
(03:02):
Zach Wilson's completed two thirds of his pass attempts. You've
seen the run game, myriad options there, Brese Hall, the explosiveness,
Dalvin Cook coming up with some big runs, and you've
seen Michael Carter with a couple of big runs and
a couple of big blocks.

So you've had a full team effort. Robert Sala has
got to be pleased with the intestinal fortitude, because a
lot of times you have those injuries, the emotion goes
right back out of you. No, they had a lot
of fight, and you've seen some tremendous work here and
vexing of this Buffalo offense. Josh Allen with four turnovers
on the night.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
The Bills have the ball the Jets thirty two yard line,
sixteen seconds left. He's been looking for Stefan Diggs exclusively,
except now he throws a deep ball to Gabe Davis. Wow,
that did not make a lot of sense. Third and
ten for the Bill because they're in the edge of
field goal forty nine yarder is certainly makeable. But you
(04:00):
had enough time there to get the ball middle. If
you're thinking field goal at this point, you had to
tell you want to get the ball middle of the field,
spike it, and then bring Tyler Bassen for a more
makeable field goal. So now I got to think, now
it's a third and ten where you can't throw the
ball to the middle of the field.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Well, the cass there might have been a little bit
of all right, we've been going underneath with with Digs
time and again that maybe we can catch a one
on one situation with Davis. Instead he had a trio
of us back with him and the safety flying over
the top. But you know any of the off season
chatter about Digs slash Josh Allen in their relationship. They
(04:37):
showed the shot when they were geting ready to get
the ball back, Digs coming over grabbing Allan. You know,
I got you and whatever. And you look at the
number of targets over the course of the night. We're
up into double digits with great success. Nine catches, ninety
two yards and a score. And now you're in position
where I mean, bass has a big leg that we
know obviously you'd like to make it more comfortable than
(05:00):
where you're sitting right now. The ball on the jets
thirty two.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
I mean, it's just you. You've turned it.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
You've turned it to the point where you can't throw
the ball in the middle of the field because you're
not gonna have enough time because you only have ten seconds.
You're not you're not throwing this middle of the field,
getting up and spiking it. It's not happening. So you
got to throw it to the side and hopefully the
Jets defense is guarding it that way, and you're forcing
at least pass to kick to kick something from fifty
yards out of bounds throw by Josh Allen. The Jets

had it defended great. So now you're talking about a
forty nine yard field goal here on fourth down miss
end the game to open it in the pre game, guys,
sixty yards in pregame, a Christy, this is forty nine
yards of the game on the line. It hands there
during the pregame. It's a little bit different, all left.
Once Aaron Rodgers win, it's a little bit different. It's
a little bit different.

Jets career. Aaron Rodgers is hurt. Is he hurt really badly?
Well depends if you like to look on the internet.
You think is done. He's never gonna play again. He

gets hurt and he hurts his ankle on the fourth
play of the game. He is in trouble the first
possession of the game for the Bills. Defensively, they sent
a lot of players at him. He gets hit on
this play. Looks like his ankle gets a little stuck
in the turf and twists. It could be an ankle,
could be an achilles. It's we won't know until tomorrow.

This is something that we know up.

Till now is that Aaron Rodgers did walk under his
own power. Though they did bring the cart out for
him to take him off the field and X rays
on his anks. He got out the cart right and
X rays on it, But he got off the cart
and he was walking under his own power. He wasn't
helped by anybody. And more importantly, Rogers, the X rays
on his ankle were negative. So there is That doesn't
mean it's not doesn't mean it's not serious, doesn't mean
(09:18):
it's not soft tissue. It means we won't know until tomorrow,
until there's an MRI. Of course, I'm bracing for the
worst because it's the Jets. This is how it goes.
Of course, we have Aaron Rodgers for four plays. You
know what it reminds me of. Honestly, I told you
ninety nine.

I remember.

I think it was the opening day for the Jets
in twenty eleven, twenty twelve, maybe might have been twenty twelve,
when the Jets had Chris Jenkins in the middle of
their defensive one one of the best defensive linemen in football,
but his last couple of years of the Jets, it
was he would hurt, get hurt, and end be out
for a long time. And I remember going into this,
going into the opener, I feared who they were playing
(09:53):
was Monday Night Football, might have been, might have been
the Ravens, might have been the Cowboys, Ravens of Cowboys.
And I said to myself, well, and they're talking a
lot about Chris Jenkins, Chris Jenks about I'm going how
long is Chris Jenkins really gonna play? How long is
he really gonna play? And I think it was three
plays until he got hurt. He was done for the season,
and I think that was the end of his career
with the Jets. So it's like it's like with Aaron Rodgers.
(10:13):
I'm looking at it like, Okay, here's Aaron Rodgers and
now four plays and now who knows when he's gonna play.

No, but that's the thing, right at this point, any
game he would play for you the rest of the
year has found money. Right, it would be a happy accident,
because I think we all after watching that multiple times,
after seeing all of the people who have worked in
and around NFL teams that comment on this stuff, the
expectation is you're not seeing him again, except with a

it is. It's the Bills aren't just this great team.
Every year they've had chances, They've had different personnel. Josh
Allen from the beginning of last year to now isn't
the same quarterback. Turns the ball over a lot since

the most right, but the last couple of years has
been really rough for him turning the ball over. He's
not been the same quarterback. So I think the Bills
windows a little bit more shut than people think it is.
But it doesn't matter. This is still a team that
was coming in Super Bowl hopes, great quarterback, great receiver
in Stefawn Diggs. They were going to win this game.
What did the Jets show you that with a quarterback
(19:23):
with no reps for the last few weeks can come
in and the Jets can play a game of great defense,
terrific running backs with Breese Hall and Dalvin Cook. And
I was kidding last hour when I said you can.
But that's how the Jets can win. They can treat
it like it's nineteen eighty five. A great defense, you
give the ball a ton to Breeze Hall, a ton
of Dalvin Cook. Now, it's a lot of stress to
(19:44):
put on a game and a team to win a
certain way. But when you can do that because you
have that great defense, you have two of the best
running backs in football, you can win that way.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
But the Ravens are done.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
I mean, you can't tell me that the forty nine
or have exactly been winging the ball all over the
field the last couple of years. It's been predicated on
running the ball and playing good defense. The Steelers, even
in the Ben Roethlisberger, even if the total numbers were there,
they were still predicated on a good ground game and
a defense to help hold the day.

So, yeah, it just makes it tougher to win.

Sure, margin for error is not that's right, right, you
get down sixteen to six, suddenly you're not gonna win
that much.

But defensively, you're gonna be in every game, right, You've

just roughs everything. And now you add Whitehead being able
to be a ballhawk down the center of the field.
Gardner gets away with whatever, he gets away with it.

We saw that on display again tonight. That's fine, call
him like he's an all pro and all world guy,
that's fine. But that gives you a competitive advantage. So
as long as Zach Wilson doesn't get put in situation
where he's got to force the ball down field. Because
did we really talk about any other wide receiver for

But it is the kick straight down the field. Make

the guy move, may go, try to judge a fly
ball right and give your coverage seam a chance. Instead
straight up, he feels it and no one's dearing and
gets a full head of steam before the first run

moment to end what was one of the stranger weak
ones in the National Football League we've seen in sometimes

he is coming off and he's going to be coming
off some kind of man. We don't know if it's
a tear, whatever it is, but he is going to
be coming off major Achilles injury. Does he continue to play?

He said the other day, I want to play it
along forty five, which you shouldn't say that. Don't say.
Don't say, you know, what's the old phrase? You make
plans and God laughs, right, like, don't tell you want
to play to forty five. Don't say you want to
play at forty five.

This is a real serious thing because now he's got
to love wanting to come back, wanting to play, being
able to do it. And yes, there is a lot
of money he has due for next year, but thirty nine,
coming off a real serious Achilles, it's up in the air.
If he ever plays for the Jets. I mean, let's
be honest, is he ever gonna play for the Jets?
I mean, I don't know that he does. Will he

try to come back? I'm sure he will, Will he
be the same? It's gonna be really hard for me
to say, Okay, at forty years old, coming off the
most major injury you can, you're gonna come back and
play now, Vinny Testaverdi when he was almost that old.
We've talked about nineteen ninety nine because it's exactly what
happened to the Jets in ninety nine, and take you back.
You know twenty some odd years the Jets are had
(30:53):
a super Bowl type season. They coming off the AFC
Championship Game in ninety eight against the Broncos. It was
supposed to be a Super Bowl or bust year. And
Vinnie testa Verdi was in his late thirties at the time.
I mean, he's he could still play now, even though
he's like eighty. Toris Achilles. On a handoff there was
a fumble he jumped to get at Torris' achilles. He
was out for the rest of the season. He came back,
(31:15):
and he came back and played a little bit in
two thousand, but he wasn't quite the same. The Jets
drafted Chad Pennington and then in two thousand and one,
two thousand, they made that push in two thousand and one,
two thousand and two, so they brought testa Verdi back,
but he wasn't quite the same quarterback. Now this is again,
this is twenty four years ago, and now medical advancements
(31:35):
are out there, but you gotta be prepared that. I mean,
I don't know. If you ask me right now, do
I ever see Aaron Rodgers play quarterback for the Jets again?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
I would say yeah, but it would be a yeah,
but maybe not because you move on. I don't know
what kind of situation.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Because if they like Zach Wilson and he's gonna play
all year, you're gonna know if Zack's good enough to
play next year and mary Aaron Rodgers comes back, maybe
he doesn't. But what like the Jets have to go forward.
If Zach Wilson stinks and and this season turns into
something really weird, they know that they got to get
another quarterback. Do you go sign do you draft somebody?
Do you go out and get a middle of the
(32:14):
road guy, Do you go get a veteran that's gonna start?
And if Aaron Rodgers comes back? I mean, you got
all these questions. I would say, it's it's I mean,
I don't want to I mean fifty to fifty. But
if you ask me if Aaron Rodgers plays for the
Jets again, I would like to say yes, but I'm
not confident in it because I don't again being thirty
nine coming off this, he's not been had a bad injury.
(32:36):
This is really really difficult. He didn't have a big
preseason to go through things, and now you're talking about
four snaps and he ruptures his achilles.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Now, this reminds me of a little situation they had
where he had myriad injuries and you know the last
place he played, and what did they do.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
They eventually drafted a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
And everybody was mad about it, and he goes out
and has a couple of MVP seasons. Now I'm not
gonna crown Jordan Love because he did play against the Bears,
but he acquitted himself quite nicely in the season debut.
But people were mad. Eventually, you've got to start looking
down the road. Most of these teams that have had
long standing successful quarterbacks, that's the one part of the
(33:14):
game plan. It was, we're gonna ride this until it
doesn't work anymore. Pittsburgh did it with Ben Roethlisberger. The
Chargers did it with Philip Rivers. The Packers, after watching
what happened when Rogers got hurt the collarbone stuff and
Brent Huntley had to play, derailing what looked like a
pretty good team. They said, we're not gonna do this
again for the Jets to go into whatever they could
(33:37):
do now. And we'll go through the list of veteran
quarterbacks and backups that are out there, because really, pick
your champion out of this group, including maybe a former
Jet who still wants to play football, but we'll get
to him in a minute. You can't kick the can
down the road with the roster as currently constructed, young guys,
because that's what you got in a lot of these spaces.
Speaker 4 (33:58):

Forget about Dalvin Cook for a minute. A lot of
these other guys are still on their rookie deals. You
don't want to lose the opportunity to try to grasp
the brass ring while they're still young, still under team control, etc.
And so looking at it for next year, I'm gonna
roll the dice that a forty year old guy is
gonna come back off a major injury where his mobility
(34:21):
was already being questioned, and now he comes back off
this part of what made him so elite for years
is gone. No, I've got to start looking down the
road to what's next, whether it's Zach Wilson or Option
B via the draft, or somewhere else.

serious achilles injury. It's not good. The Jets will know
more tomorrow, after an MRI and after they're done celebrating
