Speaker 3 (00:50):
Well alcome in side hour four, Get them up. We
got more coffee.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Let's go get you know, dude, I'm a little worried
about you. I bought you a three shot Starbucks drink.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I'm more concerned about the cholesterol that was in there
than the sugar or caffeine.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
You You drank a three shot drink, the entire serving
about an hour and a half ago. It was delicious
and a couple of seconds ago. You go, I'll be
right back. I gotta get more coffee. I didn't quite
say it with that laugh. You tapped me on the shoulder.
You twitched a little bit. You said, yeah, you're going
to get more cough. I think you've had enough coffee.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Twitched, I was twitching.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I think you've had enough coffee. You have? You actually
had to, you actually had to loosen your hat, your
snap back hat, and take it out one one snap
because I think your brain, your head is growing after
all the afder, all the caffeine you're drinking, so.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Now it's the chemicals used to griffy out here.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
You you had a four snapback, Now it's on three
snap back. I'm a little worried about you.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
You're smashing coffee like the Bills last night, rotesquely swool
and jaw.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Who was right? Was I right? I was right? I
told you you were not right. You said the Jets
are gonna smash them. That's not what happened to the
points the Jets watching the game. I watch a game
barely one the Jets. Yeah, with their backup quarter, it's
not a smash. If Aaron Rodgers played, it would.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Have been smash.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
You don't know that I have Arian Foster's script. If
Aaron Rodgers was healthy, it would have been thirty eight sixteen.
I told you, I saw it. Jets might not put
up thirty eight points all year. Stop, We'll tay. We'll
put up thirty eight points sometime in the next three weeks.
I mean a total of thirty eight points the next week.
If you just watched.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I can't wait for this game against the Cowboys, though, chaos.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Now we'll have more on the Rodgers because I get
a Big Bowl prediction for the Jets coming up in
a few minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Because those defense get to fight each other. That would entertaining.
Start both defenses in fantasy. Start both of those defenses.
You just took a shot at Dak Press.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Start both of those defenses. Sure. Look there's something going
on right now with Dak Prescott, and we told you
the beginning of the year. Look, there's three players who
are gonna get all the attention, three situations that will
get all the attention all year long, and they are
in order. Aaron Rodgers will get most of the attention.
He has been the number one story in the NFL,

(03:12):
and that's what sucks, you know, not just for not
just for me, not just for Jets fans, but for
the league. Because Aaron Rodgers was a big story, was
the biggest story.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Well, you still had a lot of hate watching. You
had others wondering, hey, a new place. Can he replicate
what Brady and Stafford did all of that stuff?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah. Jay Glazer always says NFL is the biggest reality
show in the world, always been the best, and he's right.
The big three stories with Aaron Rodgers number one, Dak
Prescott number two because it's Dak and the Cowboys, and
then it's gonna be Sean Payton and Russell Wilson. Now
that Aaron Rodgers is out, the Jets will still be
a big story. Kennan when without them, Kenny, without Aaron Rodgers,
He's still gonna be around the team. He's still gonna

(03:50):
be talking, he's still gonna be visible, He's still gonna
be a presence. He's not gonna just be gone because
he's hurt. But Dak Prescott bumps up to the number
one topic in the NFL all season long. Look at
what the Cowboys did Sunday, Cowboys win and now suddenly
regardless what Jerry Jones said last week. It is a
super bowler bus season for the Cowboys. Now they beat

(04:12):
the Giants, who are a terrific team. They came out
flat and the Cowboys just beat the crap out of them. Look,
the Giants aren't this bad. This is more a statement
of how good the Cowboys and their defense are that
they were able to do this to a team that's
pretty good. Now the stakes are raised, and nothing short
of a Super Bowl for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys
will be acceptable. Because suddenly, in one week, it's gone

(04:34):
from hey, we're a good team. Maybe we can de
throne the Eagles if we get Now it's all we
gotta beat everybody. We think we're the best team in
the NFC. Two things are gonna happen now. Number One,
we told you that Dak Prescott has all kinds of
pressure on him. This is a season where he either
succeeds for the Dallas Cowboys or they start the clock
ticking on his replacement. The trade of Trey Lance. That

(04:57):
was the message, not that Trey Lance is gonna take over,
but that we're bringing in other guys. Now you need
to really come through. We're paying you a lot of money,
and everything changed. The perception of the organization had for
Dak Prescott after that lemon in the NFC Divisional game
against the forty nine ers in the playoffs, that was
where things change and Dak Prescott became a guy. Okay,

(05:19):
now we got to see it. The clock is ticking.
You have Cooper Rush, who's who won games while he
was out. Now I have Trey Lancer, gonna be the
quarterback of the future. This was the big warning for
Dak Prescott. Now it's amped up even more for Dak
because now he's got to really come through because it's
a super bowler bus type year. And what did you
see after the game Cowboys one? Yeah, I but Dak
did not to do anything. The doubters are all there.

(05:42):
They're all there for Dak. They're there in the media,
they're there everywhere for Dak Prescott. You think the pressure
for him hasn't just ratcheted up by ten times what
it was. Of course it happens. You know, what's funny,
nobody with more pressure on him now this year than
Dak Prescott.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, what's funny? And well, Josh Allen, it's it's starting
to a little hot for him to with the turnover machine.
They repped up at a full force against your jets.
But with Dak Prescott, what's funny is it becomes a
tone kind of thing in terms of and Dak didn't
have to do anything because I look at it as boy,

(06:17):
they got off to the hot start. What of many
games in week one that was just an absolute burial
off the jump to where it became a we don't
need to open the playbook, We don't have to show
you anything in our passing game, and Dak doesn't have
to do anything. Not Dak didn't do anything, like he
was sitting on the sidelines twiddling his thumb like literally,

(06:39):
it was such an obliteration, like you didn't have to
show anything for Week one. One hundred and forty three yards,
no turnovers, that's all. That's the stat that's gonna matter
most when you've got a defense playing at that level
and if they can get off to that kind of
hot start, force turnovers and chaos off the jump for
Dak Prescott, they're gonna be games like that where the

(07:02):
stats aren't gonna need to be there and and folks
will just have to recognize and not throw the game
manager tag on them, because that's not what this is
gonna be at all. It's just sometimes the rest of
your unit, the defense, the special teams, chaos, all of
that comes together, and you don't have to be a

(07:23):
world beater. You don't have to throw for three hundred
and fifty yards and three scores. And that's how good
this defense may be if they're healthy, and so people
are gonna have to reconcile. Dak Prescott doesn't have to
get all the headlines coming out of it. It can
be about Micah Parsons, can be about the defense.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
He's the quarterback of the Dallas I'm saying, I'm saying, logically,
I understand and I agree with you. Take nonsense today
because that's where we're at. Because I'll give you a lot,
I'll give you a lot, a lot hot technologs. I'll
give you a big bull prediction. You're ready for this.
This this is a fun one watch. Now that Aaron
Rodgers is out right, we're on the the after effects

(08:01):
of the Roger story. The Jets will sign a new backup quarterback.
We'll see they're playing the Cowboys this week. Okay, but
watch what happens now with Dak Prescott because he will
be the story in the NFL and the Cowboys are
now the story because you're talking about a team that
is after one week super Bowl wishes, right, Cowboys haven't
had this much Super Bowl wishes in a long time,

(08:21):
or or thinking of them as a super Bowl team
in a long shot. Most popular team in the NFL
is now a favorite in everybody's mind after Week one
to go to the super Bowl. We've had a couple
of years where it's been a maybe, but not to
this extent. Boy, the Cowboys could be that team. Right. Cowboys, Cowboys?
Cowboys watch the national media, television, radio talk shows, watch

(08:47):
everybody turn heel on Dak Prescott and no matter what
the Cowboys do, no matter what they do, Dak Prescott's
not going to be doing enough. You watch the out
of control takes and things that go on for Dak Prescott.
Because it's the Cowboys and people are looking for something
to say, they will turn heel on Dak Prescott, who

(09:07):
will be the biggest who have the biggest amount of
criticism of any player in the NFL. He can throw
three touchdowns and throw for three point fifty against the
Jets this week. But if the Jets lose thirty eight
thirty seven, it's going to be how do you not
out if they lose thirty eight thirty seven of the Jets,
how do you not outduel Zach Wilson? How do you
lose to Zach Wilson? Never mind, Zach Wilson throws for

(09:28):
four to twenty five and four scores to Garrett Wilson.
How do you not out do it? There's no way
for him to win other than him holding up the
Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season. That's the
only way he wins. You watch, You watch how bloody
It's the Knives Knives Out? Part three? Is all of
the media out for Dak Prescott. Just watch.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I think when you get down to it, you got
a veritable Mount Rushmore. I know that's July Radio, but
let's do it here for the purpose of this conversation. Yeah,
Dak Prescott's the first and most prominent face, no question
about it. There's still residual concern, dislike, distaste for what
goes on in Denver with Russell Wilson, because I think

(10:09):
folks are still standing there with shovels full of dirt
to pile on. And for Sean Payton perhaps a little
bit too with the way he's come out and been
so bold and brash, basically calling himself Wiley Coyote, super genius,
Hackets an idiot, and Russ I've set you up as
the fall guy if this goes wrong, because it can't
be on me. It's gonna have you had.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
A better week one? Sean Payton and Nathaniel Hackett. Huh
who had a better week one? Huh? Yeah, I mean
one's an offensive coordinator, but sometimes guys are just you're
a good offensive Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Well, and I really enjoyed the on side kick effort.
Problem is I can't touch it before ten yards and
then they give up.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Scure. You know what I did in the Super Bowl
one time I had the side Let's try it again here.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
It's like all the quarterbacks you're trying to bring it
back to play for the Jets. And then you add
Justin Fields because there's a lot of unrest about him
and there has been right as to whether he transcends
and becomes this other guy that's more than just rushing
for eleven hundred yards. Does DJ Moore solve things? Can
they do anything with eber Flus?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
And then the last.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Guy is wa wait for Justin Fields. Justin Fields is
kind of reminded me he's the Ronald Acunya of the NFL, right,
because what do I tell you about Acunya? Every single
time he either hits a home runner steals a base,
people run to social media and foam at the mouth
to say he's the first twenty six, thirty seven guy.
Now he's a twenty seven forty one guy. He's a

(11:34):
thirty one to It's like, oh my god, enough, I
feel like with Justin Fields, it's every day. It's he's
five and twenty as a starter. He's five and twenty
one as a starter. He's five and twenty two as
a starter. Now I just Fields five and twenty three.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
It's a starting to why I did a long rant
on the iWatch of Flax week one review podcast Mey
Byron Burscheinger about Fields and then they go, yeah, but
fantasy wise, they go, oh, yeah, he's still a backhand
QB one. Yeah he's gonna he's gonna, yeah, he's gotta
run for enough yards for that. But here, let me
give you the criticism of his play. Uh and then

(12:07):
the fourth guy because of the contract that he got
and he got smashed in Week one by the Cowboys.
Daniel Jones is gonna be that guy that people are
just gonna continue to light up every other guy kind
of gets around.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
You're gonna start winning. This was, Yes, it was awful.
It was a bad week one. It was, and they
weren't ready for the game. I put that on Brian
Dable as great of a coach on the dude, how
are you flat? How do you? How are you not
ready for a whole bad day? The Cowboy The Cowboys
were ultimately ready for that game.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
The triple energy. Yeah, each guy got one of those.
Going out of the tunnel.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
They told stories about how on the plane we're gonna win.
This guy, I mean, they were there, this is we're
gonna go. We're gonna do this.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
But it's just the unfortunate curse of signing a contract
and the inevitable burial that comes with that if things
go awry.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
But you you watch Dak every day doesn't do enough,
He's never gonna be able to do enough. And still
if they win the super Bowl and Dak doesn't have
a great game, it's gonna be they.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Could have won the Super Bowl by more?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Are they gonna win another one? With Dak Prescott like
certain things like he has such an unbelievably difficult needed
to threat. Oh yeah, to get to the worldwide acceptance
or potentially finishing his career as a Dallas cowboy. I
mean is also like we break down all those quarterbacks
in the AFC East. You're going through a division that

(13:32):
is not easy, right, This has changed right the AFC
South for years with Peyton manning all right, Occasionally Tennessee
would pop up. Houston was a good five hundred team
now and again, but you pretty much ran rough shot
for fifteen years in that division.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Likewise, in the NFC South, yeah, you had the dirty
Birds and you had someone but for the most part,
the Saints were the class of the division. Yet everybody
harped on Brady running through the AFC East because the
Patriots just kept winning every year. All three quarterbacks had
the same thing going for them. You were pretty much
putting an ink before the season that they were heading

(14:08):
to the playoffs with Dak and the nfcas we've seen
it time and time again, you don't get repeat winners
of the division and the playoff battle. And even when
Washington has been bad in division, they're still good enough
to mess things up. Oh yeah, right, Like the defense
has always been good enough, or the offense puts up

(14:29):
one or two big games, just good enough to screw
things up, and that's not changing. The division is exactly
the same this year.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
I can't freestyle this at all.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
I can't freestyle this is this off the new Olivia
Rodrigo album No.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I just got mine in the mail today.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
This is not Vampire.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
No vampires A good you'd like the riff on it.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
You're a bloodsucker, You're a you're a bad person.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Blank.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yeah, No, there's a different I noticed there's a much
different radio edit than there is on the album. You
Truck Loader and I and I Drive Alone down Your Street?
Is every song have that line in it? Yeah, that
I got my driver's license last week.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Well, I know in the first one she had a
lot of co writer credits that.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Well, they were inspired. Oh, I think if I went
and knocked on her door and said, hey, you owe
me money. I get here. What do you need here?
What do you need? God? Good, We're good. Sign the NBA,
drop the NDA in the mailbox and just leave.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
All right, great, thank you, kind of the old Robin
Williams thing. Right, Oh I I did, Okay, here here's
a check.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
So you know, the last couple hours, a lot of
people have on Twitter said to me and and textas
said hey, you know my friends actually come text me
and saying, hey, you sound pretty good tonight. And I said, well,
what do you mean? And they're like, no, you sound
pretty good, like you sound okay. I'm like, oh, you
mean Aaron Rodgers? Yeah, because again today all day was Rogers, Rogers,
Roding like yeah. And you know what people don't know

(16:01):
about me, And I think you guys know a little
bit about this for the last nine plus years is
that I'm a pretty I don't want resilience not the
right word, but I'm pretty good at absorbing bad news
and getting over it and going forward. Because most of
my life with the Jets and the Mets, all I've
had is bad news. It's bad news.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
It's how hard you can get hit moving forwards.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Bad news Friday. Wait, it wasn't yesterday. Bad news Thursday? Yes,
more bad news today, it's bad news Friday. I'm pretty
good at dealing with something it happened and moving on.
You know, last night, was I up said about Aaron Rodgers? Yeah?
Was I really pissed?

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Was I sad? Yeah? But you know what, I had
a beer and I took a shower because that's how
we do it in the NBA. The Jets won last night,
and now here I am. What's next?

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Is Oduel's really a beer?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
What's next?

Speaker 1 (16:51):
As far as you know it is, what's next? I'm
at that point. What Rogers got hurt? It sucks, but
life goes on. But there's still game Sunday. They're not
gonna postpone the Jets Cowboys because Aaron Rodgers got hurt. Right, we're.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Days.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I got a game in five days, gotta get rid
of No one's gonna feel sorry for you. Go oh hey,
you know we're gonna add some wins to to your
total the end of the year because he feels said no,
And I know that's cliche, but that is the truth.
The season goes on and we gotta be ready. And
we're one to zero and we beat a we beat
a super Bowl caliber preseason favorite team, and our backup
quarterback had to play the entire game after getting thrust in.

(17:30):
So yeah, I'm feeling okay about it. I'm feeling okay
where we're at right now, I'm feeling pretty good. Yes,
it sucks that Rogers got hurt, but you know what,
there's something to be said for being able to be
mentally strong, and there's also something to be said for,
quite honestly, not having him. It's not like we had
him for eight games and boy, look how great we are.
Now we're lost without. What are we gonna do? He

(17:51):
was so good we never had him. We never his
jet career. Maybe four four snaps, yeah, seventy five seconds,
that could be it. You can write a book on
the Aaron Rodger here the jet seventy five So.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
That's longer than.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I knew what you were gonna say. There, I knew
you're gonna No, No, I don't really know, no, no, no,
I don't the minute man are coming, No, I don't,
I don't. We're not playing U mess and U Mess
is not playing.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
But so so it's not like they've had him and
we got to get used to life without him. It's
we had him for four plays. Well you had him
for an offseason. Ye're banked on him.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
You let him craft his roster and bring in his
band of merryman not minute men, merryman.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Zacher, these all guys you want to throw to. Sorry,
we signed him. We signed Lizard for a long time too,
brought in.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
All these guys that Aaron liked. Hopefully you'll like them too.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Now with that being said, because yeah, I'm past it,
Jets are still going to the playoffs. They're gonna win
ten games, and they're going to the playoffs, all right,
Because what's being lost in all of this are a
couple of things. Roger's biggest contributions to twenty twenty three
are going to be a solving the Spectrum Disney dispute,

(19:04):
because everybody wanted that solce so we could play Monday
night time.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
We did a good job on that.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
And what did we get most watched Monday night game
in ESPN history, in the history of ESPN's Monday Night
Football for the first four plays, yes, not no higher
rated game than that.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I would like to see how quickly folks tuned out
thereafter very quickly.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
No, it was nope, because you didn't know how hurt
he was.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
You know he did.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
No, the average fan doesn't know. Really, No, I don't
think the average you calling the average fan dumb. No,
I'm saying because what he had getting on Twitter and
believing everything that the doctor says.

Speaker 6 (19:37):
You don't have to go on Twitter to know he
was hurt badly. He was never examined him. You're a guesser.
You're a guesser, man. I want Scott van Pelt pressed
down Adam Schefter at halftime last night. You're a guesser.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Frog here is a bit shaker. After that, guesser, he
started to do the Billy Flint.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Oh hey, let me be clear.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Let me look, Van Pelt's got some reach.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Let me be clear, can get across that desk. Don't
hit me, let me be clear. Don't hit me.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Don't dude, don't punch me, dude.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Outside of solving the the Disney Spectrum cable dispute, Rogers,
Rogers has come in for the last six months has
brought not with him just a championship mentality, but he's
given the Jets a belief that we can win. And no,
he's not going to be out there, but that belief
doesn't go away. And I watched the team last night

(20:34):
where I have seen many Jets teams in the past
with a situation like that, it's time to turtle. We're
a bug on our back and our four legs are
up and we're not getting back over and it's over.
I've seen other teams go through big losses like that
in a game and basically quit and lay down. And
not only did the Jets not do that, they won
the game. They played better than the Bills. Their defense

(20:57):
was terrific. They have forced four turnovers. Brees is back
to being Breeze Hall. Dalvin Cook is gonna split the
load with him. They're gonna be a different team now.
They're gonna run the football a lot. You're gonna see
a lot of Breeze Hall and a lot of Dalvin Cook.
You're gonna see Zach Wilson turn into a facilitator trying
to make plays when they need him to. You're gonna
see the team look a lot like Green Bay. We

(21:17):
saw Green Bay on Sunday because that's kind of what
they wanted to turn the team into. Great defense. The
Jets have a better defense than Green Bay. But the
Jets have a great defense. That's how they're gonna win games.
It's not gonna be easy. They're not gonna they're gonna
show up every we can go, hey, we're beating you
seventeen nothing. But people forget this was a super Bowl
caliber Bills team that was so good coming in and
it's like that's dismissed. Now all the Jets without Rogers,

(21:39):
they're done. They just beat a super Bowl caliber team
at home where they had to thrust their backup in
who's stunk last year and the year before that, and
they still won the game. So there's gotta be something
there for that. This is I'm telling you. I'm telling
you I know the team. I know the Jets. There's
a little bit something I don't want to say special,

(22:00):
but there's a togetherness that this team had. Look, you
saw a little bit of it in hard knocks, but
you saw the way they pulled for each other. You
saw the way that Garrett Wilson grabbed Zach Wilson started
yelling the way he said after the game, Zach brought
us together and rallied us. This is a team that's
not going to quit on each other. And they could
have done it last night and they didn't. And now
even though Rodgers is out, they feel pretty damn good

(22:21):
about themselves. And not only that, they know their defense
is great. They know Breece Hall is great. Now, I
wouldn't be surprised if Breescee Hall turns out to lead
the league in rushing this year. Now, he looked like
the best running back in the NFL Week one. He's
coming off.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
He's certainly there. Now, it's just a matter of being
able to have to manage him. We how many carries
he had.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
The twenty six yeard run had to come out of
the games and then down the stretch Endurant there was
a sequence where he came off the field as well, Randy,
But you know, building back in but played in Week one.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Yeah, I think it was a surprise to a lot
of us.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
If only he can get into the end zone.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Well, that's true, Garrett Wilson block for him on that play.
He would have gotten the end zone.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, but you know what, if they made a pen
and instant card of that, I'd buy that right now,
with Garrett Wilson behind, Like I should send a note
to my guys and just say, can you guys make
this card just for me?

Speaker 1 (23:12):
I mean, I wish there was a screen grab of
Breiese Hall running for that touchdown, Wilson's hands in the
air and the Bill's dB grabbing them from You know.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
What I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go back and I'm
going to get you that screen grab. I might blow
it up into a fracture, one of those things where
it's on the glass and it looks all pretty, just
so you have that image for the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
The Jets have invested too much in this season to
just quit, right That's the other part of what they did. Hey,
they know this is a super Bowl. This could be
a super Bowl, so it could be a very special season.
Now I'm realistic, and now it's over. They're gonna play
teams where they're gonna make Zach Wilson look bad. They're
not gonna be able to run the football. Sauce Gardener
will get called for a couple of holding penalties and

(23:52):
they're gonna so, but ten wins in the playoffs one
hundred percent, they've already proven, they've already beaten the Bills.
You beat it to the Bill. Hey, Bill's coming, I
mean you want to slice it. Everybody's ignoring the fact
that Jets won that game. Yo, what an exciting win.
But yeah, okay, I get no, I think it's Aaron
Rodgers out. But look at the win. If they had
lost that game, I would say, hey, that could be

(24:13):
the end of their season. Because now you're looking at
zero to two going into Dallas, and not only do
you feel awful for Rogers, but you didn't win the game.
You thought you could win the game. Now you're going
up against a team that won forty to nothing last week,
that won on on your field forty to nothing the
night before. Uh yeah, things spiral get out of control
really really fast in the NFL. But now everything is different.

(24:35):
This is a different Jet. You can see the vibe.
You can see the togetherness that they had yet see
if even if you watch Hard Knocks, don't just trust me,
you watch Hard Knocks, you got to see it.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
James, the same exact team now you had last year
with Zach Wilson under center and Dalvin Cook. I'll that
go and Dalvin cooks and he's gonna give you four
more wins, Daln Cook.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Because now Dalvin Cook is going to touch the ball
twenty more times than Zach Wilson will. Because Breese Hall
will carry the ball twenty ten, and that goes to
how many more he will carry the ball twenty time.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
That's just it, right when we talk about wins and
where we put this team going forward, you're still going
to ten. And I dig that. I dig your blind optimism,
your squad. I just I don't think they can score
on a point.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
We'll be easy, They'll win game seventeen thirteen, seventeen sixteen thirteen.
That's how it's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
And look Zack, like Steph Curry, You're you're making the
game worse, Zach.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
No one's gonna want to watch. But Zach Wilson last night,
after not having any reps, not after any one's reps
for a couple of weeks, came in and he made
some pretty nice throws. I was pretty I'd say it
was very surprised with how well he played. Now the interception,
that's Zach Wilson too. It was a horrible throw, horrible
decision across the middle of the field, but you know what,

(25:51):
he made big throws on third down. He got them
down there, they got enough points, they won the game.
I'm not saying he's gonna suddenly throw three touchdowns a weekend. Look,
Zach Wilson's everybody's fantasy darling. But if he can move
the team just a little bit more than they did
last year, and again, they're not gonna have to rely
on him as much because now they can win a
different way. For all the all the offensive line they getting.
All the offensive line opened up a lot of holes

(26:12):
and the running game they ran for a bunch of
yards last night. It was pretty impressive for week one.
With all these problems going on, It's not gonna be easy.
It's gonna be nail biting games. But the Jets are
now going to be able to play without any expectation,
because that's another part of it. There's no expectation for
them now. Everybody thinks they're gonna stink. Rogers is gone,
and playing with expectations can sometimes be a really big burden.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah, but when you've got national you're still putting ten
wins on them.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Prob many other people are doing that. Not many. Everybody's
saying that it's over. Nlet's they get Brady, it's over.
Way Do we trade for Justin Herbert? Because that's how
I heard. That's that's happening.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
That the hottest take all takes that you can possible.
We're trading for Justin and I need to get across
the room in Brandon Stalley.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
We're trading for both of them. That that's what's happening.
You're Robert sala and wait, wait, Michael Carter, what are
you doing? That's how it's going. That's Michael Seiger, the rapper. Look,
it's it's it's difficult because they're gonna have to win
like it's nineteen eighty five. They're gonna have to win
where they just run that not even a modern type
of sledgehammer offense like the Packers want or like the

(27:21):
Niners like to do, where they have running backs, they
have good tight ends, they have good wide receivers. We're
gonna sledgehammer the ball down the field. No, the Jets
don't have to win like it's nineteen eighty five, but
where it is ugly A lot of times and it's
not exciting.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
No, And we've seen teams have success, right, I mean,
look the forty nine Ers under Jimmy Garoppolo and some
of these other squads Pittsburgh for years it's run first. Yeah,
you might get some gaudy numbers tied up, but your
identity is defense Baltimore for many a year. Right, That's

(27:54):
the big question with Todd Munkins offense. Are these wide
receivers gonna be there? Now you've got JK. Dobbins. Ear
you know how much is Lamar running versus can you
actually ascend in the passing game? Mark Andrews misses week one.
When he comes back, what's Zave Flowers had a great debut?
How does that build? Odell Beckham Junior made a great
over the shoulder catch where at least for a moment

(28:17):
you smiled. Right, it's like I remember that guy? Uh?
And so that goes forward. So the Jets potential just
remember they were nine and a half was the total
with Rogers.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
You're still putting them over. I'm still putting in with
Zach ten games it made they made the first part
of the schedule is difficult, right, ri Steph is the
first four or five games.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
I mean, you got Alabama mac Way nine.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
That's not gonna be a tough game. If you get
out of them. You can get out of the first
five games. Three and two, I think after beating the
Bills opening week. Okay, there's a lot there's not a
lot of games out there you can say are absolute losses.
But look two and three, three and two. After the
first five games, you're three and three. Once you get
to the easier part of your schedule. Yeah, that's ten wins,
ten and seven, that's why you're ten and seven. Ten

(29:00):
and seven is what they need. They'll be some games
where they don't look good and they lose. Ten and seven.
Absolutely give me the Jets in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Still, you know me, I root for chaos in between
the white lines and if if your world comes to fruition,
this is gonna be one hell of a year in
the National Football League.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Jet's Jet's, Jet's, Jet's Jets.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Jets dude, Zach Wilson's QB one dude.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
He had a dream about him a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Did not remember that we beat the Bills and he was.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
The Bills beat the Bills. He didn't beat the Bills.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Stop.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
He Wills beat the Bills. Josh Allen beat the Bills.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
We beat him with Zach Wilson already, we're getting no snaps.
Zack Wilson is not gonna get worse. I mean, I
don't know he's gonna get play, but I don't think
he's not gonna get worse.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Have you seen him play?

Speaker 1 (29:42):
I saw him play last night.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
But you're out here acting like you've never seen him play.
You're saying he's taking you to the playoffs. He's not
my favorite guy. Zack Wilson play knows that's not.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
My favorite guy. But he made enough plays last night
and the team is better.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
He even knows Zach Wilson's not good.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
He has no idea. Ty Shirt subscribes to Zach Wilson's
mom's podcast.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
It's a bad thing. It's very quietly, nicely done. MVP
right there. I'll put a boat right there.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
That's ten wins right there on you.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Ten for the Jets.
