(00:50):
This will forever be known as the DeAndre Swift Game.
A touchdown run after a big run to set up
the touchdown has given the Eagles a thirty four to
twenty one lead. It is a new career high in
yards for DeAndre Smith Deondre Swift, breaking the mark he
set last year of one hundred and forty four yards
(01:14):
against the Eagles. So the Eagles things work out. DeAndre
Swift now up to one hundred and seventy yards on
the ground, and Andy got his touch.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I finally got his touchdown after two of them got
vultured by Hurts. He does have three receptions, so there's
a bonus three points for the and six yards there.
So uh yeah, twenty six point six fantasy points if
you started him this week?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Is that good? I mean really, because you picked him
up and after either you had him on your team
after week one, You're like, he's lost. He's not even
gonna be part of the mix. Now, Kenneth Gainwell, Oh
I got Kenneth Gainwell. It's awesome. Kenneth Gainwell. And then
Gainwell gets hurt and you say, well, how many carries?
Deonder Swift really gonna get all of them? All of
the one hundred and seventy hearts twenty five? This is
(02:03):
like an old school day for it is like FREDK. Taylor, Hey,
twenty five carries buck seventy.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Take it down where we're at with four minutes remaining,
the vikings with the football the Eagles for the night
forty five rushing attempts twenty five from Swift five from
Boston Scott Oh He's averaged eight yards carry as well.
The bludgeoning continues. Rashad Penny even got a couple of carries,
not quite the same level of success, just three for nine,
(02:29):
and then Jalen Hurts two touchdowns but twelve scrambles, slash
design runs, slash quarterback sneaks for thirty five yards. You've
gone for two hundred and fifty four yards on the
ground on the whereas Hurts efficient eighteen of twenty three,
one hundred and ninety three, one in one taking care
of the ball. By way of contrast, Alexander Madison sang
(02:51):
the song eight carries twenty eight yards run. Game absolutely
invisible for Minnesota.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
This is some kind of game right now for the Eagles,
for DeAndre Swift and the flip side, because now this
is where things are gonna get really interesting. Kirk Cousins
is having a huge game for the Vikings. I mean,
he's twenty five out of thirty five, three hundred yards,
three touchdowns. The Justin Jefferson play reaching for the pylon
at the end of the first half is the biggest
(03:20):
play of the game. Instead of a first and goal
at the one and you're gonna take a fourteen to
ten lead. Justin Jefferson, catching a thirty yard pass, decides,
I want to try to put the ball over the pilon. Oh,
it's a player's instincts. No, you tell them not to
do that. We've seen it so many times. Don't do it.
If it's if it's a winner, go home play. Yes,
try to put the ball over the goal line. But
(03:42):
if you don't have to, don't do it. Because the
bad is really bad. What does Justin Jefferson do instead
of first down and goal at the one half yard line,
you're getting in the end zone. He fumbles it through
the end zone, touchback, the Eagles take over, They go
down and Jake Ellie kicks a sixty one yard field goal. Instead.
The Eagles go up thirteen to seven at halftime, instead
(04:03):
of it would have been a fourteen to ten lead
for the Vikings. That play. Still, all this offense, everything
we've seen it just by drives me so crazy when
I see players do that, because nothing good comes it.
You've seen it, you've seen it, But is it? I'm
just I have to score, got to be I gotta
be the glamour guy, right I gotta be the glamor guy. No,
you don't do it. And he's the best receiver in
(04:23):
the NFL. He's got to know, all right, I just
got to I got a thirty yard reception here. I
don't need to put the ball in the end zone.
It's okay. It wasn't fourth and one. There isn't one
second left on the clock. There's thirty seconds left to go.
We're gonna have a You gotta know the time this oney,
You get paid a lot of money to be this
is what happens in the NFL. So I don't feel like, oh,
you're asking a player to go against their instinct. That's
the biggest play of the game, the biggest great a
(04:44):
game as justin Jefferson is having it's great his fault
this this game, that play that is completely on him,
and it's a different game if he just holds onto
the football.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Somewhere someone's yelling that's why they didn't pay him. But
you have the you know, you got a Glamour Boys
reference in there, as.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
The glamour Boys always on the gas. Lind No glamor
glamour boys having all under control.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Got you.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
That's a great love. I love living color Man. I
thought they would have a bunch of hit albums after
hit albums, but we got three good songs. The glamour
boys are always thinking. Okay, so that's what's happening right now.
It's a thirty four to twenty one game. Real, justin
Jefferson really that that's the play of the game easily.
We got Jay Glazer coming up after the game to
break this down a little bit more. But here's the thing,
(05:34):
and here's a and here's something that I firmly believe
going forward with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. Rogers has
his surgery today, right, We didn't know when he was
having it, and he let everybody know, Hey, I had
my surgery wednesday. I'm feeling great. Same doctor that worked
on Tom Brady when he got hurt in two thousand
and eight. Great, feeling great about it.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Oh that means there's a lot of surgery's in between there.
He's really skills well in two thousand and eight. Now, Well,
but you talking about eighteen years of innovation.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, but I get it. What you gonna say, Hey,
and you know Jim dalrymple, boy, he really is running around. Granted,
who's Jim dwro no Tom Brady, the guy that worked
on Tom Brady. But we talked to Jordan Schultz last
night and he said, ay, you know, the Jets right now,
they see him all in on on Zach Wilson. But
in a few weeks we'll see. I'll tell you this
and I'll give you I'll pinpoint stuff for you. Zach
(06:26):
Wilson is the best choice for the Jets right now.
He's not a great choice, but he's the best choice.
Why because he knows the team, he knows the offense.
They have confidence in him. Right now. He's gonna have
Aaron Rodgers helping him. He looked a little bit better.
There is nobody who can put in there or trade
for or sign off the street. That's going to be
an improvement because a no team is trading you their
(06:47):
backup quarter. It's great to say, go get Andy Dalton,
go get Jameis Winston. None of these teams are trading
their guys. That's just stupid. That's just again, there were
so many stupid people this week when he came to
what the Jets should do. Nobody's trading their guys. As
we mentioned her you mentioned earlier this week seventy five
guys played quarterback last year after Week one, no one
is trading their backup. No one's doing it. They're not
doing it. It's just stupid to say that. So if
(07:09):
you said it, I'm sorry, but you're stupid.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
And how many of the backups are any good anyway?
Speaker 5 (07:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
No, exactly.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Is where we're getting None.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Of those guys are coming in and and and because
no one's gonna trade then, so now you're talking about
the guys off the street, Matt Ryan or Philip Rivers.
These guys are unemployed for a reason. If it's not
Tom Brady, you don't want a guy coming off the
street because it's not gonna help. It's Zach better for
better or for worse. They need to be Zach Wilson
driven because he is the best choice for now. Now
is it a great choice. No, but it's the best choice. Now.
(07:39):
You get to the trading deadline, Okay, get to the
trading deadline, and the Jets are hanging around the playoff picture.
They're not done. I told you they're gonna win ten
games go to the playoffs. But let's just say we
got to get to get No, no, no, we're winning ten
games to get into the playoffs. But let me throw
this out there, because I got names, because I got names.
I got names. I got names. You made it personal.
(08:02):
I got names. Let's say you get close to the
deadline and the Jets are hovering. They're not out of it,
they're around five hundred. They're playing well, but Zach Wilson
just stinks. All right, Zack Wilson's just not what they
thought he was going to do. They're not gonna give
this year away, so what are they gonna do?
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Then?
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Then they're gonna look and say, Okay, we're at the
trading deadline. What teams out there have not had to
start to the season they expected. They're sitting at one
and six, one and seven, and hey, you know what,
we may as well tank and try to get Caleb
Williams or somebody else, or Drake may or Sadur Sanders
or whoever else you want to get. This is not
working for us. We need to move on. When it
(08:43):
gets close to the deadline, there's two guys. The Jets
will go out and get two guys. One of them's
playing in this game right now, and that's Kirk Cousins.
Even though he didn't want to go there a few
years ago. If the Vikings are and the Vikings are
going to start zero to two. If the Vikings are bad,
because Kirk Cousins this is the last year of.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
His contract, thirty five million dollar deal.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
The Vikings will trade Kirk Cousins to the Jets and
they will move on from Kirk Cousins and get ready
to go for next year. The other guy is Ryan
Tannehill because the Titans, if they stink all right, they're
gonna want to move on. We're gonna play our guys,
want to play Will Levis. When maybe Malik Willis, whoever
knows you, whoever knows you want to play, maybe kry
Collins comes back, they will move on. Those are the
(09:23):
two guys that the Jets will trade for. That's it.
That's your list. That is your list of players who
will be available that could take over for Zach Wilson,
Kirk Cousins, Ryan Tannell. Because the Jets are not gonna
Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford's do way too much money.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Let's get several years left and you're already on the
hook for not happen. Rogers not happening if he's coming
back yet.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
You're not taking on salary, You're not taking on anything
that's gonna hurt you in twenty twenty four. You're not
doing it. You are taking on a quarterback that you
can walk away from after this year. Those are your
two guys. Those are your two veterans that will cost
you nothing that you'll be able to say, let's go
get both of these guys. Let's go get one of these.
That's where the Jets are going, Zach Wilson, Kirk Cousins,
(10:04):
Ryan Tannehill in that order, and the worst the Vikings do.
So I'm rooting against the Vikings because in case the
Jets need somebody, Kirk Cousins, Kirk Cousins, Kirk and the
same thing Ryan teded. Those are the guys that they
would go get to keep this season afloat. That's it.
That's the list, those two guys. But that's in a
few weeks.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Well, Ryan Tannehill may become very available, very quickly, based
on what Mike Vrabel had to say in his in
his comment a little earlier, if they just continue to
be a bit of a struggle. This week they face
the Chargers, Frostburg will be there live and in living color, uh,
to let us know all about that thing. Yeah, he's
(10:43):
he He will literally be the twelfth man, uh, trying
to tackle Derrick Henry, but legitimately like Rabel already. And
that's the thing this year. You know, I talked about injuries.
We always get into offensive line play. We love to
do that here on the show, uh, because it's one
lost in the trenches. But we've also had a guy's
gotten pretty bold with some of their commentary. You heard
(11:07):
Austin Eckler talking about health, talking about coaching, and really
laying it out in media appearances. This week Vrabel going
after decision making up for Tannehill and really getting aggressive,
I think in terms of his commentary there about taking
care of the football. So when we look at it, yeah,
(11:30):
Mike Malik, Willis get another run. And then if it
goes bad and when they cut these guys loose, it
becomes a situation whereby it's all right, well, let's see
if will Levis can become the guy. But if the
season really does go to hell, Now you've got a
bunch of quarterbacks coming in to the league next year
because they're also dealing this week. DeAndre Hopkins isn't practicing
(11:52):
careln Burt's is still ify and spotty in terms of
his day to day. So, I mean, you've got questions
already going into a week two with a team that
is built to be smash mouth into bludging you. And
you got a quarterback that's that question. Yeah, it's a
very short list. Three guys, one of whom we already
just categorically ruled out. Tom Brady hate walking.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Through that door, not happening.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
So these two.
Speaker 2 (12:16):

Twitter at Jay Glazer.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Jay.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
What's happening, buddy? How are you?
Speaker 5 (13:40):
What's going on?
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Somebody? Hey? First, I want to say, you know, you
do a lot of stuff, you give back a lot,
but you know, not many people would have their uber
driver on their podcast like you did with Howie Long
and the Unbreakable Mental Health Podcast. I mean not many
people have their uber driver on but you did that night,
dig that.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
And I actually gave them UK two extra stars for
that for wort target.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
I'm proud of them.
Speaker 5 (14:05):
How about that though?
Speaker 4 (14:06):
How about yeah?
Speaker 5 (14:07):
For people who have not heard.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
The Howhi Long podcast to be on break Well, first
of all, the story and we'll get to obviously the game,
the story that he tried, like you know how he
is the straight most straight laced gyrope. Only I get
him to be old Howie Long again. And I punched
him in the forum a couple of years ago when
I was trying to kile along and he put his
car key in his middle finger and punched me in
(14:29):
the eye.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
I don't know. I always appreciate the NFL at bots
intro when you walk up to him and you get
put the camera to go tell me how handsome am
I today as and you're just waiting to see what
his response is going to be.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
I gotta get me some of that.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
That was a great response that I tell you what.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
This is what we have such a great brethren over there,
Like he opened up to me on the podcast this week.
People think he's from southern California. I asked him what
an unbreakable moan was, and people don't realize this. He
grew up in Charleston, Massachusetts, where the town was the
movie of the town, you know, with the most bank
lobberies of any town in America, and his dad was.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Homeless and he would walk.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
Past his dad to school every day like how he grew.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
Up tough man and yeah, people have no And when
you know, we filmed the podcast and I put it
out yesterday.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
He hear me up.
Speaker 6 (15:25):
He goes, wow, I was deep and I said, yeah,
you said it. He said, I know, I just you know,
I don't really say it a lot. And you know,
people just have this this this other notion to him
that he grew he's like a southern California get He's not.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
He's a tough Boston.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Dude and went the villanova.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
But math did that, you know, have to do it.
But also he talked about the podcast about forgiveness, like
you know, getting through that and overcoming that and then
having him around his grandkids, you know, his dad around,
you know, Chris and Colin Howard Junior stuff.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
It's just that's why you.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Know, I would go to Howie, I adopted my son.
To people out here, I don't know if you know this,
you're not my son, Sammy. And you know I was
like an instantat and I.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Didn't know what I was doing.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
And Howard is the one I really leaned into him
out how to be a dad.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Wow. Now, speaking of forgiveness, did you forgive him for
trying to put your eye out with his car ki
or is that is that still between you?
Speaker 5 (16:17):
I think you know he would get back from me
because I just cracked the for him. So yeah, it
was all that was child's play. We're good.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
If he connects like you've been on TV the last
years with an eye.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Patch, it's like you know, Tippy connected.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
My eye was done.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
My life is over, his life was over.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
He's going, he's worried, fused me WI his jail.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
All these great things about Allie.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
He's how lucky.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
I got a good head movement.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
All that training, Jay, it comes in handy man, bother
and weeds.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
I was never that punch man.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
He literally had his car key in between his middle
knuckles to punch me. Am I freaking eye.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Check out Jay's Twitter page at Jay Glazier. There's a
bit there with that conversation with Howie Long. Of course, Unbreakable,
a mental health podcast. It is a must listen every
single week.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Again.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Details on that again at Jay's Twitter page at Jay Glazier. Well,
all right, so I don't know how we get the
football from that. We just kind of have to do it.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
H Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Eagles win tonight. Vikings are zing too. The Vikings turn
the ball over a ton Jay. I watched this game.
I go, Okay, the Eagles seem like they're getting it
together a little bit. But boy, this Viking scene that
had everything go right last year, they're in a lot
of trouble right now.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
I hope there are a lot of too. But I
think also last year they had a lot of games
that they were kind of miracle games, right, And they
look when when Quincy and the GM over there and
Kevin o'conmen came in, they had a few year plan,
and you know that's kind of look at some things
like hey, get rid of Talvic Cook and what are they.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Going to do?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
I think they's like a four year plan or some
long those lives. And you know, all of a sudden
last year they kind of shocked the world. They don't
up into that that four year planks. They knew they
had to rebuild. But on the other side of all
the Eagles, I mean Eagles are.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
They're so sad.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
Let me let me tell this Jalen Carter again, I
did get.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Right and you look at Jalen.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Carter, he's so incredibly talented.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
But most teams, a lot of teams could not have
Jalen Carter with baggage came with and you know, with
with the issues he came with. But there's a dude
in Philey named Dom Desandro. He's their heads security. Okay,
this guy's like, I'm gonna call him their vice president
of stuff. They're the only team that could have taken
(18:40):
Jaalen and turned him into a choirboy because of Dom
down like.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Helps these guys.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
He is the greatest life coach. He's by cycle therapist.
He's have to leave cyclotherapist. He's the three hundred and
eighty pound gorilla standing behind uh uh. You know Nick
Saarany when he's walking off the field, you know big
you know, kind of a jersey kind of goomback on
the guy.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
You'll see him.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
Everybody kind of looks. But behind the who's that big
security guy. It's Big Dom. But Big Dom is the
reason why they could get a guy like Jay Allen
Harder a lot of teams couldn't because he does he helps
guys out kind of with their life, with life skills
and and be able to get these guys set in
the road success.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
It's incredible.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Well for the Eagles watching this game, Jay good old
fashioned bully ball when the passing game bogged down a bit,
and to see a guy like DeAndre Swift run wild
and you get up to forty eight and two fifty
nine feeling pretty good? Did that? You can take time
with the rest of the identity to sort.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Out that's exactly right.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
Look, you know, look Hyry Rovan does a great job
where they're also taking you know, other teams players. And
How's a funny guy too, because he'll call the he'll
call people.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
We kind of have a.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
Running joke, and I think he knows about it. It's
almost like, hey, he'll call like a team for like
your best player, Like I'll call like a forty nine.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
They're like, hey, we'll give you a.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
Five for an close. They will turn to a four
if he played eighty percent of the snaps. And you know,
he's like he's always trying to get other teams, great
players and a lot of times he does a j
Brown did a great job on draft today. Not only
did he did, they had a did they have to
swing a deal for age? But then I get a
contract done for him before that deal got like that
(20:19):
trade was made, So that was going on the clock
guy like DeAndre Swipps getting him done off of Like
Howie does a really good job of getting players over
there from other teams. But he's always like swinging for
the fences. But the best players and other teams every
once in a while, but a little bit more than
everyone in a.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
While gets lucky.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Jay Glazer our guest the Jason Smith Show with Mike
Carmon live from the TIREC dot Com studios. So the
Eagles get the win there too, and O everything seems fine.
Aaron Rodgers had very successful Achilles surgery today. Jay, What
what is next for the Jets? They're sticking with Zach
Wilson for now? Is it a whole season? Can they
make a move?
Speaker 4 (20:56):
What?
Speaker 1 (20:56):
What are you hearing on this?
Speaker 5 (20:58):
I think, you know, I don't think they know exactly
what they're gonna do yet.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
You know, it's interesting.
Speaker 6 (21:02):
First of all, you know Aaron went today, and I
don't know how I'm like to talk about all this
on the broadcast side to doctor Neil Latrosh, who was
the man when it comes to third reason in sports,
that's the guy.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
And you know, so he went to the right guys.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Out here at lost time.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
He's done everybody from Connor McGregor to Gazelle to Tom
Brady to like say, he's done everybody. He's just grouble
what Dela Trosh does. So he's in great hands.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
There your eye surgery off? How he long put your eye?
Speaker 5 (21:33):
He would have?
Speaker 6 (21:35):
Actually, I think he's done somehow he's surgery. And Kyle's like,
he's done. He's actually Stalloon's.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Brother in law.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
Really, yes, he's brother in law.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yeah, but he is the best he is. He's the
guy there.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
Aaron's in great hands.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
But I think that Jeff also, look, you know, right
after they came out texting Robert solid deal and that
I'm like, listen, man, like just go back to the
old adage of like running game and defense winsampionships. And
they got a great running game. Like but you know,
everybody said they're going to hold off on refall.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
They didn't.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
Many Brant Wilding. You know, Dalvin Cook's just gonna get
cooking more and that you know, jeff Olbrik's defense over there.
I think even without Aaron, they're not as much a
pickle as we think, as long as that doesn't screw
it up everybody else. And that's all they need from
They don't need them. They don't need the same expectations
they had when they took.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
Them in the second pick of the draft. They just
need them not to mess it up for the running.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Game in the defense.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Could they go get Lyle Collins like all these other
teams are lining up for.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
Yeah, but they always did. Yeah, that's one thing they did.
They worked in there about.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
The offensive on the whole time.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Hunting Camper there was from one place, and that's where
make a lot of teams. You look at Shadow the
Freak and they Foster starting. They went out right away
grabbed two offensive lineman Jason Peters right, and he's kind
of loaded up there.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
But man, it's hard.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
To get off at the line of these days, especially
like like you think about also like just in the future,
like kids are going to play defense right from high
school to college. They want to be a deeper side
of ball, not the offensive side of the ball, and
it's just hard to get that depth.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Jay outside of the Jets. Now we look at some
of the big games coming in off of Week one,
week two, suddenly the Dallas Cowboys go from Hey, the
Cowboys could be pretty good too, Oh my god, they're
Super Bowl favorites. You buying the hype for the Cowboys
after Week one against the Giants, Well that was.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
That was a man, You can't anything take away from them,
right yet they were take away fromall they were. But
plus also Dallas always comes like with so much expectations,
so they have more than just a normal They don't
just play their opponent, They play all.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
The expectations you know they have.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
I would say that Dallas Cowboys and the Yankee at
the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Lakers all wrapped up
in won you know, so there's they're always battlings of us.
So for them to go out and put a performance.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
Like that, yeah, I think you gotta be buyting Cowboys
all right.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Let me that's the obvious follow up question. The Giants
and the Steelers, what the hell happened?
Speaker 4 (24:05):
No cares out there this.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
I think the Giants just kind of kind of go
back to what they did offensive in last year. But
before even like before the Giants defense gave up a point,
they were a down sixteen nothing just from turnovers for
the Steelers. Look, Mike time will kind of you know,
we've seen him start slowing the path. The dude have
never ever ever had a losing season, never, so he
(24:35):
makes better adjustments during the year than any coach.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
In this league.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
All right, So lastly, Jay, let leave us with this
yes or no?
Speaker 3 (24:43):
What did you text us say?
Speaker 6 (24:45):
I'm trying not to have overreaction Monday. You know, I get,
but because it's week freaking one, I know.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
And that's the problem is I go, I go to
the negative of teams that I liked that he disappointed me.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
Jay the straight m Last year two thousand and seven,
the Giant Weston they started owing too, and they gave
up I think forty eight and forty nine points respectively
in those first two games. They average, yeah, like forty
eight points a game, give it up if you can
look it up. I don't know what it was, but
it was it was up there to a tixty games
per game, and then it was like they all sat down,
(25:17):
they were Steve Spagnols their debout corder and they're like, hey, listen,
we're kind of ninety five percent shirt we're doing here.
We need to be one hundred percent Choret just go
for it. And all of a sudden, man, that numbers
came all the way down and the Giants is out
in the wildcard going to win the Super Bowl. So look,
if you look at them, we've won that year. He
would say, Oh, it's team they They had the biggest
upset in Super Bowl history by beating the Patriots that year.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
All right, So I was going to close by saying,
did you text Strahan after the Giants game on Sunday?
Or George you let him go for a little bit.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
Nah, he was flying out of his G nine or whatever.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
It's all.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
That's our show, NFL on Box Inside of Jay Glazer
again on Twitter at Jay Glazer Info, Unbreakable Mental Health podcast.
Be sure to check it out. Jay has always buddy,
keep fighting the good fight.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Man.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
We'll talk to you next week. How he long tried
to put my eye out with a key between snuckles
because everybody hears it going, I know exactly what you did,
because he had not done that before.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Between right here one of the self defense training. Can
you imagine that headline? Hey, TMZ's got this story.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Dude, Howie Long put Jay Glazier's eye out with a
key while they were training.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Wait what Yeah, it's great training. And you know a
little bit of ballbusting that they do on the set.
I mean we've heard snippets of it. Right when how
he's been his driver. You hear how they get after
each other. You know, Hey, two more times, two more stars.
Right hand starts coming through.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Two more stars for Allie and the Zuber Driver. Two
more Stars.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Not only do we still get to hear the song tonight,
Alex Tyscher is wearing a Tears for Fears T shirt
into work tonight.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Hey, he is walking the walk.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Man.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
It wasn't all just talk and bluster and knowing that
it irritated, you know, he is showing his true love
of a legendary band.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
Not legendary, they're a band, Jason, They're friends of the show.
They're gonna come play live in studio. Fore they're friends
of the show. You're that show and that guy just
hates on us. Yes, I love that show.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
The other guy loves you, and the technical producer is
your biggest fan.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Tears for Fears is like one tiny step above Dream Academy.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
They have a solover thirty million albums worldwide. Back when
you actually sold albums thirty million, thirty million.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Okay, when you're around for thirty years. Hey, okay, it.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Has aggression, will not stand.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
I'm I'm just saying it's not that big. Uh. The
Vikings lose to the Eagles tonight, there's an eye football.
Eagles don't look great, but they look good enough. DeAndre
Swift looks awesome. Have more on him coming up in
a few minutes.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Right behind that offensive line, you'll look great. The guy
we have to talk about here is Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Tonight. Cousins thirty one of forty four, three sixty four
and four touchdowns through the first two games of this season,
seven hundred yards, six touchdowns, one pick, and the Vikings
are zero two. Kirk Cousins watching tonight, Yes, a lot
of it was from behind. He was had a little
(28:33):
bit more a little bit more free to throw the football,
but he was really good tonight. The turnovers just absolutely
crush the Vikings. Jefferson's fumble, the fumble on the kickoff,
the turnovers just absolute crush him.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
The kickoff fumble is something that's going to get lost
in everything else. Man, that would have been a first
down one from the thirty, maybe even closer, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
But the turnovers that they're they were just killers. He
has played extremely well so far and he has really
taken to this offense with Hey, we have a couple
of changes here. No more Dalvin Cook. We can't run
the foot by the way all right then? Okay, yeah,
but usually when a team is one dimensional, they struggle.
Not at all. He's got the weapons. Jordanadison had a
(29:19):
big night to night. He caught a big touchdown Justin
Jefferson is on pace for like one hundred and ninety
catches this year. Break Yes, oh very good. I love
that Cousins is playing phenomenally. And this is why I
am going to root against the Vikings every single week
week the rest of this season, because if Zach Wilson
(29:41):
stinks in the next six weeks. November first, is a
trade deadline. If the Jets are sitting at three and four,
four and three, but Zach Wilson stinks and the Vikings
are two and six or one and seven, hey guess what? Hey,
how about you give us Kirk Cousins for the net.
I told you Cousins and Ryan Tannehill. Those are the
two guys the Jets can go get at the trade deadline.
(30:02):
That will take take the job from Zach Wilson. That's it.
Then nobody else is coming. Now it's Zack Wilson's job.
The next six weeks. Nobody else coming is better. Everybody
who says somebody else right now is stupid. But you
get to six weeks from now, the Jets are in it.
If the Viking stink, if the Titans stink, Kirk Cousins,
so I would be whoever? Who are the Vikings playing
(30:22):
this week?
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Go other team?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Go other team.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
For anybody that missed the Monday Night Show, not Tuesday afternoon,
Wednesday morning, Thursday morning, of throwing out theoretical candidates, we
did it live and in living color Monday Night. Who
on any roster that's a backup is better than what
you might have in Zach Wilson right last year, you know,
(30:47):
and to it with a little bit of a grain
of assault in terms of first starting experience whatever. All
these other guys are backups, are out of the league,
as we've talked about for a reason. Now we get
into contracts. And I gotta give you a lot of
credit because you went positive here the way you tease things.
I was really waiting for a full a J Brown.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Which we'll have to get to.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
And it was part of it.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Yeah, I think it was part of it coming up. Yeah,
but that's what you look at their schedule going forward. Right,
Week three, go ahead, Chargers loss, it's a home game,
it doesn't matter large. Week four at Carolina loss. Come on,
I gotta get Jets. You do know our boss is
a Vikings figure.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, all right, right but.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
When but I mean he likes the Vikings because he
loved Captain Kirk No.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Okay uh.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
And then then they're home against the Chiefs that's a loss.
Then they're on the road against Chicago loss. That's because
Mike is right next to that. He turns fifty on
that day. They're gonna win for him that day.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Sorry, buddy, the Chargers got him by twenty.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Kirk Cousins is throwing for three point fifty and four again.
Then they've got a home date with the forty nine Ers,
and then the last game that's on my board here,
that's a lot else on the road at Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Kirk Cousins, Kirk Cousins, Kirk's.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Got an easy schedule.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Bink about that. The last loss that would put the
nail in Kirk cousins career comes to us courtesy of
the Packers who traded Aaron Rodgers to the Jets, and
Jordan Love gets Kirk Cousins of the Jets the rest
of this year.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Yeah, the Cousins, Kirk Cousins, Kirk Kurly is kind of
a divine intervention kind of thing happening there. Look, they're
not gonna be good, right. This is year three of
this Two years ago they lost all those one score
games under Zimmer. Then you have O'Connell comes in last year.
Everything bounces right, make big plays, Captain Kirk, Dalvin Cook,
(32:47):
you name it, and Jefferson obviously out of this world.
Now you add Hockinson, you already talked about Osbourne talk
about bringing in Addison, who scored each of his first
two weeks here in the NFL run game. They got
to figure something out if they're going to be viable
at all. Otherwise this is the type of game you're
getting into every week. Hey, let's let's play shootout and
(33:09):
hope we got the ball.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Last Kirk Cousins, Jets quarterback, finally after we thought we
were getting him five years.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Ago, and he taunted you.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Was good, He's gonna walk away at the deadline and go,
I guess this was kind of inevitable. I would have
to get to the Jets at some point.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Okay, but of all players like the show quarterback and
everybody's like, oh, I kind of like him. Now, How
did you not like a guy who's been able to
force a league that doesn't like guaranteed contracts to give
him year after year of fully guaranteed contracts. And now
he's just that quirky, little weird guy who's got his
hidden trophy room like it's the bat cave, puts.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
A Jets trophy in there for the super Bowl. This
is it, This is this man as well be tears
for fears. It's the dream Academy, pushing the coming up
next A Justin Jefferson stat that's gonna slay you.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
