Speaker 1 (00:50):
Before we get to a trade that could solve a
lot of problems in the NFL, we had the breaking
news earlier tonight from CNBC that the writer's strike could
end as early as tomorrow. According to reports, sources close
to the Writers Guild of America ce NBC reporting that

(01:11):
they are near an agreement after meeting face to face.
The two sides met and will hope to finalize a
deal on Thursday. Hey, it sounds great, right, yeah, but
hang on, They say, if they can't reach an agreement
on Thursday, the strike could last through the end of
the year.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Well, I don't understand that. I don't understand that. It's September.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh, we're so close to a deal now, But if
we can't reach one tomorrow, then it's gonna go through.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I mean, I don't get that. I was going to
go through the end of the year. I don't understand that.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Just saying it's done, you know it's done, and then
you say, unless somebody really does something stupid, then it
obliterates everything and we have to start from scratch. So
you say through the end of the year, because remember,
a lot of folks have their vacation schedules already banked in, right,
if you were on a schedule, you would have already said,

(01:57):
all right, I'm in the Cayman Islands, off to the Bahamas.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, listen, we'd we'd like to end the strike, but
we have a couple of executives here at Netflix that
are on vacation in knocked a little bit or in October,
and some of them in November.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
So yeah, sorry, we can't. Uh, we can't end this thing.
I'm sorry about that. Yeah, this is an entire all
of Hollywood.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
We'd love to solve this, but we got people who
are gonna be out of town and unreachable.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
No, they're not bringing their cell phones and written now
out of now. They're under all going somebody. They're all
going to Greenland or Iceland.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
And they no, we can't, we can't do it. We
can't do it. I think they I think they can
find a way. I think they can find a way.
That's just me. I think they can.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Well, and I'm just saying, you're all you're also not
gonna go, well, if it doesn't happen tomorrow, you're not
gonna pick some other random arbitrary date between now and then.
Well no, it's ay, so it's going to be the
end of the year, right So no, you.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Say, listen, it's if you're this close, and you're this
close to the finish line. And I don't mean hey,
Mets and the Brewers thinking of out a trade for
pet Alnzo close to the finish line.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I mean like, hey, you know more than field goal distance.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Now, you're okay if it doesn't work, let's what let's
let's not let's let cooler heads prevail, let's get back
at it in a week, right, Like, Okay, then that's
that's what I understand that, that's what I would get Okay, Hey, listen,
we don't reach it tomorrow on on you know, if
we don't reach tomorrow on the on the twenty second.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
But you have to make it sound dire.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
You no, I know, but it is.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's just but yeah, but I'll just say, hey, you
know what, we'll get back after it in a couple
of days. That means that, you know, everybody's calmer heads,
because if it blows up before tomorrow, then obviously something
is really gone awry. So saying hey, you know what,
you know, we'll do it again in a week. Nah,
nobody's gonna buy it. They're gonna call you in liars.

(03:37):
But if you give yourself a large deadline, it's got
to like, you know, kicking that can down the road.
When you had to write a term paper or something,
it didn't matter what the deadline date was.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
It's gonna stay up all now.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
We're gonna do it till the day before.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, if you tell me that, if you tell me
that the date is the thirtieth, I'm gonna do it
on the twenty ninth. The date is on the fifteenth,
I'm doing it on the fourteenth. That's how it's gonna be, right.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
So it's the same thing here. So now you got
your long lead of to the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I got I hear that, and I go, I get it.
I get that. You want to make it seem like, Okay,
nobody's backing a way, but really, the end of the year, really, really,
you know, the end of the year.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I'm sorry, it's such a it's such a rough time now,
the last one hundred days that now you're the next
three months off.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
We were to go skiing in Utah or something.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
How long you skiing for it? Like three months? Like
what what do you do? What do you mean? Hey?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I gave you an honest effort until September twenty twenty first,
and then you know, the first day of fall. I
set him out.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I don't think the professional ski season is that long.
I would go skiing for like three months. It's not gonna.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I don't know it was. You were able to ski
until June this year.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
It is true. Yeah, yeah, you're right.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
It started late and then ended late. And it is
the NFL season. You got a lot of NFL fans,
or maybe they're Colorado football fans.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Now, well that's you know, if you know the you
know the whole Robert Frost poem. If the world gonna
end in fire or ice, If it does end in ice,
skiing will take We'll take the place of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
We'll be how poy. I'll tell you this skiing season
is awesome. It just goes all the way all year round. Man,
I'll tell you this is so much fun. Now skiing
will replace the NFL.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, it's it's a mad, maddening time. But you know what,
ABC Disney, they've got the Monday Night football ready.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Now, speaking of football, I have it. I have a
trade for you that could solve everybody's problems.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Actually, that could solve.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Whose problem solving from.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
The biggest story today, right and the biggest story of
the last week and a half. How about that?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
All right?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Can I call doctor Leo Marvin, I get you got
you got the time time travel peace from Hermione Granger.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
No, no, no, I could solve the two biggest problems,
the biggest problem from today and the biggest problem the
last the last week and a half.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Right, I'm on a vacation from my problems.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Pop can use my slicker.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Uh So, justin Fields today. Not happy with the coaching
in Chicago, right, not happy with it at all. He
talked about it, saying, Hey, it's just man, you know,
I feel too robotic. You know, we get a lot
of coaching. Coaches are their job preparing us. But I
can't be thinking about that when I'm pish.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
There's just too much terminology that to go through. They're
over coaching me.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
What I want to do. What I want to do
is not pay any attention.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I just want to nod when the coaches talk to
me and then go do my own thing, which is
like something that you see in youth sports.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Like I could tell it.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Sometimes when I'm telling somebody something, I'm telling you something, Hey,
do this and this, and.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
They're nod in their head. I'm going you're gonna walk
away from me and not even not even doing that.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's not happening just on the field. That happens with
your kid, your significant other, the people you work with,
and everybody in America and across the globe listening to
that right now is nodding their head, and they've got
someone specific in mind that paid him no mind earlier today.
I'm with you, so he is.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
So he doesn't want to listen to the coaching. It
does look like he has a future in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Pass this year.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
And the Bears, it's so bad for them after what
happened today, which we'll get to involving the Bears and
the raid that either did or didn't happen on Hallas Hall,
their defensive coordinator resigns very abruptly. Uh, they're gonna wind
up tanking, right, They're gonna want to shot at a
great quarterback because there's a lot of good quarterbacks in
the draft this year, and you'll finish up at the time. Hey,

(07:23):
you finished the number one pick last year, why not
this year? So how about this? How about you trade
Justin Fields to the Jets and I give you Zack
Wilson and a fourth round pick, Zach Wilson a fourth
round pick, because this helps everybody.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
This helps you tank because you're putting in right.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Look, I mean maybe maybe Jim McMahon is gonna play
for a while until until Zack Wilson gets ready. But look,
you're putting in the back. Look, you let Nathan Peterman go,
so he's not playing.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
I don't have a backup anymore. Less back doesn't.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Matter, just like Belichick, right, we're not gonna play with
the back, right, you'll lose a lot of games without
a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
So that's fine.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
But then Zach Wilson gets ready, and you know, Zach
Wilson stinks. You're talking about a guy taking number two
overall in the draft, the guy that the Bears took
very high in the draft. You're allowed to tank the
guys you're getting, You're allowed to tank. You'll get Caleb
Williams or Drake may or Shoulder Sanders. Is somebody really
really good. It's gonna happen for you. I'm not too
worried about that. It's gonna happen there. And the Jets

(08:23):
get a guy who right away is better than Zack Wilson,
and the Jets playoff hopes can get a little bit
more of a glimmer because Justin Fields is a better
quarterback than Zack Wilson. Because Zach Wilson can't throw the
ball downfield, neither can Justin Fields. But Justin Fields can
run Justin Field's gonna give you one hundred yards of
offense with his legs and maybe one hundred and fifty

(08:44):
yards through the air. Zack Wilson's gonna give you one
hundred and fifty yards through the air.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
That's it. That's all you're gonna get. That, that's you're
gonna get.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
So I'll take the guy that's gonna make plays with
his legs a little bit, and on third and twelve,
I'll get a first down once in a while with
him running instead of Zach Wilson throwing an interception, throwing
an incomplete pass. So that helps the Jets. They're not
we're not giving up a lot. We're saying goodbye to
Zach Wild. You get a guy that allows you to tank.
We get a guy that that that amps up our
playoff hopes a little bit. He gets a fresh start

(09:11):
with a new coaching staff who's able to say, listen,
don't even worry about the playbook.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Just whatever you feel, go out there. Be like a
jazz musician.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Man.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Just feel it.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Just feel it and extemporaneously freelance throughout the entire game.
Just be do me a favorite look for seventeen. Just
look for seventeen. He's the guy you're gonna throw to.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Right.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
He's a guy we can't upset.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
All right, you're gonna give the ball to twenty and
you're gonna throw to seventeen. Twenty in the backfield, and
you throw to seventeen. Just do that a few times
and we'll be all good. That solves everything. Justin Fields
for Zach Wilson, I'd rather wait, I mean, I'd rather
get justin Fields tomorrow, then wait five weeks for the
possibility that maybe Kirk Cousins becomes available, that maybe or

(09:49):
Ryan Town.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Sure this is positive for you.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Yeah, becomes it's positive for you because you're a years.
You stink this year. You know you stink.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
You've told you will stinks before a week one, right,
you were trying to tell me they were gonna be
a surprise squad.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
No, I never said that. And then you're gonna get
Caleb Williams next year.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
How do you not win?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
You win by losing and sucking so bad that you
get cale, you get.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
A toss, trying to give me your trash exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Because you're trying to lose. You're trying to lose at
this point, buddy, I'm helping you.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
If I don't help win, doesn't matter whether he plays
all the games, he can't win anyway. If you wanted
to help five W twenty three, five and twenty two, if.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
You were looking to win, I trade you Dalvin Cook,
although he's been terrible, better than Zach Wilson. I thank
you somebody else, but you're you're helping me potentially win.
I'm helping you lose, which is what we both want
to accomplish.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Win. Win. Everybody wins.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
You make my head hurt.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Everybody wins. You know you hate it because you know it.
You know I'm right. You hate it because you know
I'm right. You know that would help, you know that
would help.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, but I don't want to watch Zach Wilson around
for the Bears.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Oh you think your hurt watching that Bears game? Wilson.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
This is just terrible at least the big thing for me,
and just to take it to the to the Bears,
the analysis of what they're trying to do offensively. Why
would you take away the one thing that made him special?
Why do we keep doing that? Right the Baltimore Ah,
We're gonna get all these wide receivers. Lamar, we don't
watch you to run as much. We're gonna take that

(11:18):
away from you, which is the complete opposite of what
Harbaugh was preaching a couple of years ago. And I
was right in lockstep with him, going that's what makes
him the MVP that he is and will be and
the best threat on the field. Likewise, for justin fields,
I get it. You want to clean up some of
the stuff you want. You brought in DJ Moore thinking
you're gonna do this and the downfield passing game is

(11:41):
gonna be better. And then you're trying to get the
guy to stay between the tackles, which is just not
good for business. Get him to the edge. How about
a little naked bootleg. How about a little bit of
design rollout to give him some space. And then he's
already in motion, and it's very easy to just say, Okay,
the read's not there, turn it up, Come on, man,

(12:01):
come on. But yeah, your trade scenario, this really only
benefits you short term. I still have long term pain.
So I know, what do you really.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Think you're okay if you don't make the trade, what
do you really think you're gonn accomplish this year?

Speaker 2 (12:16):
At least ten. Yeah, in the end, we're ending up
at the same destination. This will just be slightly more entertaining.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Eventually Field is gonna say, screw you, I'm gonna call
my own plays.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
And eventually you already did that today, and eventually.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
You'll wind up winning a couple of games and suddenly, oh,
we pick fourth, so we're not gonna get Williams or
may or Sanders.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Jason. Have you seen him play? Him calling his own
plays is only gonna end in El's.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Have you seen Zach Wilson play?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yes, they're both very good, just a matter of you know,
do you want style points for your losses?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Justin Fields is.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
An upgrade from Zach Wilson, and now he's probably event
I'd call tomorrow and go, hey, how about Justin that?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Do you feel no?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
But he's their ticket. He's the Bears ticket to the
number one pick. They're not gonna let him go.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
No, Okay, so wait, you think Zach Wilson isn't more
of a ticket to the.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Nobody is ever thinking Zach Wilson. He's on no other
team's mind.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Ever.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I think that's tree.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Every team should have to have Zach Wilson for a week,
just so, just so they could feel better a way
man I was. I think I was too harsh on
my guy. I think I was really too harsh for
my quarterback. Okay, Okay, I get it. Just Zack Wilson
go to another team. Now I understand you were still
saying they were going ten and seven.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Now you're giving them away for a bucket of balls.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Hey hey, hey, no no.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Because I said, there's nobody else really available an upgrade, right, nobody.
The only guys were going to be Kirk Cousins and
Ryan Tannhill because they fit into the Jets plan of
we can have a guy this year and we have
to worry about paying him next year because Rogers is
coming back and we're paying him next year. So the
only two guys that fit that that were available or
could be available because they you know, they're losing, are

(14:00):
the Titans, who are not very good and the Vikings
who are owing too.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Now you got suddenly justin field. I don't want to
have coaches on.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
And and you're gonna and eber Flutz is gonna want
to try to to put his stamp on the team
and say listen, we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna draft
another guy in the offsite, whatever it's going to be.
And so yeah, okay, hey, Justin Fields is eminently available,
now go send him to the Jets.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Iber Flues is now the guy in the chariot race
and one of the wheels pop doms and he's just
trying to hold on and get to the finish line.
Come on, man, tell him.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
It's a trade that helps both. I don't know why
you're so negative on it.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
It helps both.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
For giving Meza Wilson, Yes, because even if it's only
for fifteen games, I reject your off I ain't Mike.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
I'm giving you Zach Wilson because you're trying to lose.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
By the way, just just for the record, so long
as these guys, the McCaskey Hallis family owns the team,
they'll win nothing. Anyway. This is where we're at. We're
destined to be perennial losers.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Dude, If that trade happened, there would be video of
Bears fans all over the internet tomorrow pouring champagne over
their heads, going.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
We're getting Caleb Williams, here's Zach, but they'll all be
wearing Zach. Jason Man dan Is tied in the back.
It'd be great.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Just remember it's the Bears. They could have the number
one pick and trade down not to get killed.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Might do that.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, hey, man, value, Now you could have Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
You might.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
No, you can't do that. You can't do that. Now,
the guy they should have drafted that draft was Deshaun
Watson based on what you'd seen and the evaluations, and
they didn't. And obviously, you know, we've seen what's happened
in that over the years. But you know, going forward, yes,
obviously hindsight twenty twenty and we can all turn back

(15:51):
to that. Yeah, you could have had Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Hey, Mahomes, mamesm Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show
with my friend Mike l think more.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
About Gino Smith than Sam Darnold jer.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
That's a trade that helps everybody.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Coming up next, we have more on the craziest of
the day in Chicago that involved a.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Former Bears legend who's an FBI agent.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Plus we take a look at Thursday Night football, a
titanic matchup between the suddenly red hot Giants and.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
The forty nine ers. Keep it here, Jason and Mike.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Fox Eberflues be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon live from the
ti iraq dot Com Studio Hobo. We'll have more on
the craziest day any team has had to deal with
coming up in a few minutes. But by this time
tomorrow night, we are breaking down Giants and the Niners.
The Niners playing their home opener in Santa Clara. They
are a ten point favorite over New York and there

(16:58):
is no the Giants can win this game, right, There's
no nobody. I don't think anybody across the country has
picked the Giants zero right either. And and I can't
even give you a hot take. Hey, the Giants are
gonna win, right.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
But I will say this for the Giants because I'll
tell you how the game is going. I'll tell you
how the game is gonna go.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yes, it's the Niners home opener, Thursday night football.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
There.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, no people in San Francisco choking you out on air.
Yeah no they did. They didn't get you for an interview,
but they came for your throat.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
No, no, I'm all good now, yes, home opener, but
Thursday night games are generally ugly, right, They're sloppy. It's
a short week. The Niners are gonna win. But if
you're talking about eleven point spread, which is what the
Giants are underdogs by, I'll take the Giants getting eleven.

(17:56):
They're coming in tomorrow, Yesterdy're missing their left tackle, They're
missing Saquon bark It looks terrible. Rodney Hampton maybe started
running back for the job.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Matt Brida. For all you fantasy owners, go get it
their plan.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Watch this and I'll give you a Daniel Jones ball prediction.
He runs for at least seventy five yards.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
This is going to be order, but yeah, you'll have
to be active for sure.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
This is going to be how the Giants keep this close.
They keep the Niners off balance. They don't try to
run the football a lot. It's a lot of Daniel
Jones through the air and designed runs where he's keeping
it on the ground, and that's going to try to
keep the Niners off balance a little bit for being
able to play aggressively, and it will keep the Giants
in this game somewhat. Eleven points is a lot of

(18:43):
points on Thursday Night football because of the week.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
This is a Sunday game.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
And it's okay, a full week of getting ready, and
Brandon Ayuka is definitely going to play because right now
a status is fluid for tomorrow. Talking about the best
wide receiver on the team, because now he's the best
wide it's no longer Deebo Samuel Hey, that's a little tough,
right the Giants. Defensively, they can make it a little
difficult on the forty nine ers. I mean, the Niners

(19:07):
have been everything great so far that the first two
weeks this season, But give me the sloppiness. It normally
happens on Thursday Night, and Brian Dable with some kind
of game plan that keeps the Niners off balance, maybe
a couple of trick plays, whether it's a fake punt,
fake field goal, something that can give the Giants a
little bit of juice. I've seen them do it in

(19:27):
these games. So give me the Giants to cover the
eleven against the Niners.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Wishing, wanting, hoping. You know me, I've got the Giants
making a big run. This is a terrible spot, Yes,
it absolutely a terrible spot. Right you finally played two
good quarters of football connect carryover four days later into
Santa Clara. No, if you have Saquon Barkley, I give

(19:53):
you a puncher's chance, But what's he worth two to
three points in the point spread. When it's all said none,
you're still looking at San Francisco favored by a touchdown
if all things were equal, and losing Andrew Thomas just
absolutely massive. As for player prop bets, thirty seven and
a half is the rushing yard is thirty seven shut half? Yeah,

(20:16):
that's the rushing prop bet for Daniel Jones pass completions
twenty and a half and then passing yards at two
sixteen point five. And this is where all right, So
you got Darren Waller, he's gonna go fine. But Hodgens, Darius,

(20:36):
you know, Slayton, I mean, all these guys can Can
you really expect to get much traction there against the secondary?
With the pass rush that will be coming full tilt
on Jones. A couple of jail break running opportunities, I
would agree with you a lot of Graham Gono early.
If you can play ball control, I suppose you can

(20:58):
get something. But again you don't have bar so uh.
I'll I'll take the forty nine Ers given the eleven
because there's going to be a mistake, fumble, sack, fumble,
whatever the case may be, that that gets you the
the extra Not to mention the forty nine ers kicker.
As much as I wanted the return of Robbie Gold,

(21:19):
He's been fantastic thus far. Jake Moody. Six field goal
makes six pats.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
So there it is.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Our picks on opposite sides, the Giants Niners with the
number we have more NFL coming up in nineties.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Jason, Yeah, what do you got from real quick? Can
we take side bets on the on the spread, off
off air?

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Like? What do you what do you mean? What do
you mean? You want side bets?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
You got the Giants covering?

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah, you want to get.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
The fans are calling on the Giants to beat the spread.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Hey I am.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
I am red hot and winning bets. I've won sandwiches
the last couple of weeks, man, I don't know if
you want any of the smoke. You don't want me
in the last couple of weeks. You want Harmon smoke,
you don't want my smoke. Harmon's one buying sandwich is
the last couple of weeks. I'm the way you want.
You don't want my smoke.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I want all the smoke.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
You know you do not want the smoke. Man, you
do not want the smoke. You don't you don't. You
don't even want a vape.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
You're not him area of my smoke. You're not him.
You don't know how to cook my smoke around me.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
You can't even get within like a circumference of thirty
seven feet around me, thirty seven shut n vape and
you know you can't even get They no, because I won't.
I have I have right now, I have bouncers at
the edge of my smoke telling people, Hey, listen, you
can't come in.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
You can't have any of the smoke. You do not
want the smoke, do not want it. Giants getting eleven smoke, everybody.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
You can't cook.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
The best thing to do look and I subscribe to
the Princess Bride philosophy of you need to go back
to the beginning.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
I'd vecin ay, we go back to the beginning.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
We woke up this morning to the story that Justin
Fields at his press conference didn't like the way the
coaches are coaching him and what's going on with the
game planning is making him too robotic, he can't be me,
criticizes the coaching, then says, okay, well hang on a second,
hang on, let me go in and let me take

(23:19):
that back and let me say, hey, I didn't mean
that coaches are doing their thing, and I don't want
you guys driving a wedge between us and the media.
You're taking my stuff and taking it out of context. Now,
nobody put what took what you said out of context.
You said there's too much stuff, there's too much coaching
going on, and you have to just go be you.
So that's how it starts. If that's not enough, Great,
the Bears have a quarterback issue now with Fields. He

(23:41):
hates eber Flus, he hates his oc. Great, this is awesome. Yeah,
that was just that was just a kid giving out
candy to what happened after that? Following that story this morning,
we get word that hallis Hall the Bears, you know,
team facility was rated.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
By the FBI. The raid of Hallas Hall. Wait what
it was? It was raided. What was it rated for?

Speaker 2 (24:04):
We don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
There were reports out there that it was raided, Okay,
Then we find out that maybe it wasn't rated and
there were conflicting reports that Hallas Hall was not raided.
All right, So there was a raid, then there wasn't
a raid, all right. Maybe that was just some kind
of fake thing.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Who knows.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Then defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigns very abruptly, saying he
wants to spend more time with his family.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Now.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
He was away from the team last week and Eberflus
called the defense and likely is going to do it
again this week. But very quickly and abruptly, Alan Williams
is away from the team. Now, why did this happen?
There were some Bears insiders who are reporting that this
is not about him going back to his family. But
something big is up and maybe it had something to

(24:48):
do with the raid of Hallas Hall that either did
or didn't happen.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
All right.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
So now with all of this on here, then somehow
the story gets on social media that Peanut former Bears
defensive back pe Nut Tillman, who is now an FBI agent.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Legitimately he is an FBI agent. This is not made
on though he is an I'm an agent. He's an
FBI agent.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Reports that he led the raid on Alice Hall and
I love the people with blue check marks that were
saying yeah. He actually called eber Flus and Poles and said, yeah,
we're raiding.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
The facilities today. Hey, coach, it's Peanut. Hey, I do it.
You should come talk to the team at some point.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Oh no, no, I can't. We're raiding the facilities today.
Wait what, Yeah, we're you might want to not be
there when we're there.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
We're gonna raid there.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
I'm gonna come and get a singletary jersey and try
to sell it on eBay. Maybe maybe a Butckiss jockstrap.
We're raiding the facilities. Then we find out, obviously that
that Peanut Tillmans edor Tillman was not part of the raid,
even though he is in the FBI. So if you're
trying to keep score of this, which how can you?
You had the Bears quarterback upset with the coaching staff,

(26:00):
then tried to.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Walk back his comments.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Then a raid of Hallas Hall that may or may
not have happened. The defensive coordinator resigns which did happen.
Peanutt Tillman, FBI agent, who is an FBI agent, led
the raid that may or may not have happened on
Hallis Hall, and that did not happen. So that was
the David. Not even the Jets Mike Carmon to have

(26:22):
a day like that, The Jets of the Lions and
the Raiders together couldn't have a day like that.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, this is my team. There you go. I knew
it was already gonna be a bad season. The pointing
of fingers, We've done the analysis, coach walking back. Just
bad looks all around. And Justin Field's I would say,
pretty definitively is not him, just like you aren't. But

(26:47):
you know that's for another time. As for the Williams thing,
it's just weird on one hundred levels, right if it's
a leave of leave of like a medical thing, like
a legitimate medical and health thing, like his resignation letter.
And this is where I get into we start the
semantics game with all of this, Right, what constitutes a raid?

(27:07):
Do you need all the sirens and and lights and
helicopters and you know, the opening to an episode of
Cops to make this happen and.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
That kind of look, and that's the think We talked
to Jason Cole NFL Insider, who brought up a great
point about the raid of people who think it happened
or did And I'm sure there's a lot of people going, oh,
the government is covering up this raid. If there was
a raid, there would have been police officer would there
would have been video of it. There would have been hey,
you know what's going on at Hallis Hall right now?
The FBI, someone would have texted somebody news, helicopters would

(27:38):
have been there. There would have been some kind of presence.
We would have seen it on TV, at least locally
in Chicago. And the fact that there wasn't tells me,
you know, there might not have been a rain.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Well, but this again goes back to the term raid
versus inquiries or things of other nature.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
Right, Yeah, but raid doesn't. Yeah, but inquiries doesn't sound
as solation. No, no, but but that's my point. But
that's my point. It doesn't. So you know, when we
start getting into the semantics of these things, you know,
of trying to nobody definitively gave us anything.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
I mean, the stroke the lawyer hired a guy I
actually helped get through his Northwestern law and work back
in the day. He became hired by by Williams and
he was doing media appearances. He said, a whole lot
of nothing, as you would expect. So when we start

(28:33):
talking about criminal activity and investigations and all, you know,
you're you're trying to read between a lot of the
talking points that go through. But for Williams to resign
and it's tagged off as a medical you know, a
health situation whatever. That is, right, very broad based terminology there,

(28:56):
Like wouldn't you go and get a leave of absence?
Why are you leaving the team? Why are you resigning
like that? That's what I want to know, Like, what's
that gap? Close that gap for me between I need,
you know, some time away from the team, which he
has been away from the team eva Flus has acted
as the defensive coordinator to today it's a resignation after

(29:18):
the rumor and everything goes on. What's that gap that
I'm missing there, Jason as opposed to you know what,
I'm going to take advantage of whatever the NFL team
that I've been working for can help me with through
this time. Whatever those situations, whatever those illnesses, maladies, mental health,
whatever that term is, whatever's going on, why would you

(29:42):
resign that. That's what doesn't add up for me. So
while I'm not saying, hey, I'm wholeheartedly believing all the
other I'm not categorically dismissing all of it.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Either exit out about a fresca, exits fallen down. Yeah,
there is definitely another shoe that's gonna d on this
and just what it is. That's what we're waiting on,
because I believe where there's smoke, there's fire, and you
have a lot of local guys in Chicago that are saying, hey, no, no, no,
I trust my sources, and I know there's this and
this is not as simple as it seems.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Yet.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
We're gonna find out sometime in the next couple of
days what this really is all about. Eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox is the number the Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Carmon.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Coming up next, we got the play of the night.
We have a big NFL trade, We.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Got a big points spread I can't believe from a
different game, not Niners Giants.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
That's next right here

Speaker 2 (30:34):
