In the middle of the second week in a row
with dual Monday night games, right now, people are flipping
(00:57):
over from the Eagles bucks going okay, this is done. Now,
Eagles are winning, have a two touchdown lead with three
minutes left to go. It's over. Let me see what's
going on with the Rams and the Bengals. What have
I missed and the answer is you've missed nothing, absolutely nothing.
This game is awful. You've missed a Hopefully all the
good stuff happens now, and maybe that's in the script
that way, Listen, don't have any big plays while the
(01:19):
other game is going on. We'll let you go on
have a couple of field goals each side. But then
let's have the play really amp up once the other
game is over and people are turning over to our game.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Maybe that's it, you mean the offense has actually come
to life and it's not a field goal kicking.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Contest, Like there's a sign that someone gives off the field, like,
oh now we can now, now we can. Now we
can do it as instead of running into the line
and and and a lot of you know, passes the horizontal,
gain a couple of yards here and there. Yeah, now
now let's go downfield. Now we can do it. The
other game's over, people are turning over. There's two minutes left,
it's a two touchdown lead. Yeah, now we can do it.
Because this game is this game is bad. It's terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
And look the only thing that's left for the the
Eagles Bucks game is if you can get some eat out,
some extra fantasy points. Maybe you need the you want
the touchdown from aj Brown. Maybe you'll actually see Jalen
Hurts complete a red zone pass oh for six on
the night with a pick uh. You know, all stop
throwing the ball you've run for two hundred yards. Just
run it down their throats and finish the damn game.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
But listen, Jalen Hurts doesn't get to do extra Hulu
commercials if they run the ball all the time. He
needs to be able to throw it once in a while.
Or Jalen Hulu has Live Sports is not gonna get
to do more commercials.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Jalen Hulu has his Live Sports just needs to keep winning.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
WHU has Lives Sport, no more commercials, they don't do that.
How about we get DeAndre Swift into a commercial with
Taylor Swift. We have the New Swifties. Why do we
do that as the Swifties.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Well, you know what, though she abandoned the Eagles, I
mean since you went there, she abandoned the.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Dating someone on the chiefs now, so she should have
fully trolled there a Swift, Ye I am a Swift.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
You just lost all not anymore appointed that she didn't
suddenly do the big reveal to have a Jason Kelsey
Eagles jersey underneath, because it's all been about I'm an
Eagles fan. And then all of a sudden, there she
is fully ensconced.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
You better You better hope the Swifties don't know the
address of the radio station here where we're at Fox
Sports Radio un Venturable. You better hope they're not. They
don't know because you're down here. You've lost your you
lost your card, you lost Swifty card. You criticized Taylor
Swift in front of the America and God and everyone.
You criticized her.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
You just I'm just saying she's always been about grabbing
fold of everybody. She should have been wearing a jersey
like Mama Kelsey did during the Super Bowl because you
still have to recognize those Philadelphia ring Sure it does.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
She's dating Travis that she's allegedly she's in the but
still not Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
They were at the game. They left the game together.
She's at the game. Good pr stunt if you're just friends,
good pup. She needs publicity. Taylor Swift needs publicity. Lean
into the bit. You don't have some fun. I got
it off day on a Sunday, I'm gonna go to Kansas,
go to Kansas, flying to Kansas and see a game,
get to market and then be seen on camera going
let's affing go. I don't ever say she wasn't potentially
(04:05):
unhinged as a football fan.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I mean, I love that part of it. That was great.
Let's affing go.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Guys in the boot didn't seem terribly comfortable with the
entire Taylor Swift thing. That didn't work out. It didn't
seem so seamless.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Now, listen, we have a big question to ask about
Taylor Swift, and we'll have that coming up in a
few minutes. But yes, here's what's happening tonight, right now,
just under two minutes ago, in the fourth quarter the
early Monday night game. Again. I can kind of dig
these these dual Monday night games because it's good. If
you get a bad one, maybe the second will be good.
You know, it's kind of how it works. It go
hit you with quantity over quality.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
And it's still football. It's like that's and you know,
getting it on. It's all good.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
The game has not really been in doubt for a while.
Philadelphia is kind of cruising to a very easy victory
over Tampa. They lead a twenty five to eleven. They
have the football deep in Tampa Bay's and whether they
get in for a another Cosmetics score or not is
yet to be determined. But this has been a game
where for the entirety of the contest it has been
(05:08):
a dominance by the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Eagles so far, honestly,
they've been playing B games, right, this is this is
your typical team that is still on the hangover from
the Super Bowl. But because their roster is so incredibly talented,
they're gonna win games just because and that's where they're
playing B games and they're blowing teams out well.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
But you still have the changeover in coordinators, right with
Stike and having left. Yeah, the passing game has still
had its issues. A couple of times they've tried to push.
You had the throw that look the ensuing play ended
up being a safety because of a terrible play call
by the Buccaneers and obviously the dominance of that defensive line.
But yeah, to your point, you're still gonna be three
(05:50):
and zero to succeed and proceed. Yeah, style points don't matter.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
No, And you can tell just watching them their attention
to detail and their I don't want to say how
they came into the game, but you can just tell
that this is not the same we're on a mission
team that they were a year ago, because it's again
still going through the super high. But to be three
and oh and you're still on the hangover is great.
When you're the Bengals and you're one and two and
(06:14):
you're going or on win two coming this game, it's
a little bit different. But for the Eagles, they're fine,
and I'm glad they're winning this game big because Tampa
Bay is a fraud. They stink and they were two
and oh and people are talking about a look at Tampa. No,
Tampa Bay stinks. They stink. An all game, their offense
looked worse than the Jets offense. Yet Day not saying.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
No, no, Norah Sanity already lying America.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
They had one hundred yards of offense the point in
time where the Jets had one hundred and twenty. So
you just stopped right there. The offense is worse than
the Jets. I would it was more aesthetically pleasing than that.
Jets were Okay, well, aesthetically pleasing, that's that right.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I had a couple of big passes to Mike Evans,
Like you saw some stuff that you can at least say, hey,
they look like they know how to play in a
passing game, whereas.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
You could not. Okay, all right, okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
I went back and watched that game again, Command of JA.
I mean, I really I really had to give it
its due attention. You know, I'm on the one nine
hundred Lose my Ass challenge again, so you know, when
you when you get the game, some of the games right,
some of the games wrong, and the picks against spread,
(07:30):
I gotta do some miles on the treadmill. I got
that game right, but I still wanted to watch it
again just to see how abysmal it was in full
because when it's on the eighth box.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, it doesn't look as bad.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
No, no, you moved up and it's it's not a
great game. And obviously see the score, like you know,
it's not good. But to see some of the reactions
on X was it really that bad?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
And it was it was. Now, look, there's a lot
to get to with this, but how do I feel
at this point? After all, give up thot that told
you the defense is great? After they we give up
one play. They give up one play, one fifty eight
yard pass to guy who hasn't scored since two thousand
and so.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
No, two great plays on that possession. Right, So you
have the good pass play, Yeah, familiar, but Jones. But
Will Williams has to come off the field.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
What do they do? I could stand in the pocket
next second and boom, Yes, so here. Honestly, we're gonna
there's a lot of things to get to with this,
with this game, all right, but let me just tell
you this, jet I I understand and I'm beginning to
understand more. When I meet people who are in their sixties,
(08:37):
maybe they're older, and they've been big fans, and you
try to talk to them about football, and they go, yeah,
I don't you know, Yeah, I don't watch as much
as I used I don't watch my team as much
I used to it. And it's like why and and
and everybody that I talked to that used to watch
football and doesn't anymore has one thing in common. And
this is not politic. This is not political at all.
Every time one thing common. Who's your team? My team
is the Lions, My team is the Raiders, My team
(08:59):
is the Browns, My team is the Jets, because there
gets to be a point when you just get too
old to watch your team just suck for a long
period of time. Time Right now, it's you know, look,
I'm fifty two and I've been I've given my life
to the Jets, and this is what I've gotten back.
A decade a deck my entire forties, No playoffs my
(09:19):
entire forties. Okay, no playoffs, not one. Biggest drought in
the NFL. They can't get it right. Chance and nothing's
It's difficult to see a team not get it right
for a debt, three or four cycles of hiring and
bringing in players and you can't get it right. And
so I'm beginning to understand when as people get old
(09:40):
and they go, you know, I want my sports teams
to bring me joy. I want to be happy. They
don't have to win every year, but boy, they got
to give me some kind of hope. I can't have
every year be seven and ten or five and twelve
or four and thirteen, and hey, I get a little
bit of hope because it's the offseason. I can't have
the offseason be the only thing that excites me because
we're just not playing any games and losing and be
(10:00):
excited about the season. But I get when people get
to a certain point in their life and they go, yeah,
I'm not the fan I used to and you have
weird like Usually conversations like this happened at holidays when
you're when you have family members around, you know, Uncle Pete's, oh,
uncle Pete's and Uncle Pete loved the jet.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
But it's towards the end of the season, Pete, how
do you feel I have a watch?
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Why? I don't know. I just haven't. And what he
doesn't want to tell you is that I can't watch
this crap every single week. I done, and I'm done.
I don't need the negativity. I don't need the feeling
awful on a Sunday. I don't need that. Because you
want anything you watch, you can say oh, but being
a fan, you can no. No. It's being a fan
of anything, being a fan of a musician, being a
fan of a music group. I hate when they have
(10:41):
a couple of bad albums in a row because I'm
not gonna buy the next one, because you show me
you stink now you wrote all your good songs when
you were twenty years old. It's being a fan. It's
being a fan of a TV series where you know,
why am I watching this right? You're in the third season.
It's derivative. I'm done. I'm walking away from this because
I'm because I'm done now, because I'm no longer I
no longer get joy of watching this, and I complain
(11:02):
about it with my friends after It's like, what hate
watching can only go so far? And that's That's one
thing I'm really starting to get now, is that, yeah,
it's easier as you get older. Is that I've been
through my whole life and the Jets didn't do it
for me. So I'm cutting the cord and I'm moving
on to something else. And now I do other things
on Sunday. What do you do? I go to festivals,
or I go to a farmer's market, or I do
(11:22):
woodworking in the yard, and I listen to you. I
listen to you do different thing, and I get I
get people just saying I've had enough and I'm unplugged,
because at this point now with this, with all this stuff,
it's like I get it. I get that after three weeks.
Because the Jets still can't get the quarterback position right
and they still want to go down the road with
Zach Wilson, even though the guys had two seasons of
three games to show you that he stinks. No, no, no,
(11:43):
We're still going to go forward with Zach Wilson. It's
really depressing.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah, it's really got marble mouth trying to answer those
questions to pro get to that as time goes on.
But to your point, on a larger scale, it's also
you know, last night and this weekend down here in
southern California had a Beach Life Festival down in Redondo Beach.
You know, built up this big stage, big music acts,
and in the fall they bring a bunch of country
(12:08):
music Americana.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Right.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
So you had the Marshall Tucker Band, you had the
Doobie Brothers, Cajsy but Yeah, Cat Jessy, and the last
artist was Brad Paisley last night and one of his
songs is you know there's only so many summers. Okay,
the same thing for these folks instead have been watching
these teams suck for forty years. At some point you're like,
you know what, that's a Sunday that is fully invested.
(12:32):
Right if you go to games, and you've been going
to games you're talking about driving there, however, far from
your home, getting in and out of the parking lot,
add what to hout if you're in LA, you're adding
two and a half hours to your experience related to
parking lot, plus your games another three to three and
a half hours. Like, am I committing seven hours to this?
Speaker 1 (12:51):
And more than that because you're spending time to thinking
about it during the week and reading about your investor
at a whole other level.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
I get at some point you're like, I only have
so many yeah, or your free time. Maybe you're still
working a ton, You've got kids that are in a
bunch of activities, so you're in the car doing the
shuttle back and forth, all of these different things that
add up to I can't invest.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
In this anymore. Ye, it hurts too damn much. Look
at me.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I'm Southside chicagoan by birth. I've got four hours of
monologues on the Bears ready to go, right to the
point where YouTube TV did a mercy killing on me.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yes, yeah, they would let you see that.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
At halftime they said, you know what, you don't need
to see this anymore. Even if Taylor Swift is there,
you get an extra helping of the Cardinals and the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Mike Harmon, we've actually tapped into your blood pressure. It
is too high, so we're taking this game off of
your screen. This is how things work now at twenty
twenty three, they can do that. If your blood pressure
gets too high, they cut away from the game, so
I can't watch the game any more. Minority risk to
my health. Cut it right up.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
But like, legitimately, I'm sitting there, I've got the three
bocks going right. It's like, all right, there's a sea
hu and Panthers getting after it. There's the Arizona Cardinals
running all over the Cowboys, and all of a sudden,
it's see, hey, it's halftime. But you know what, we're
gonna switch to the more competitive games, like I'll see
you in Hell.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I gave you my money check clear pal.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
You should be able to see any game I subject
myself to whatever misery I want.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
One hundred percent. No, that's a bit. That's a big question.
That's a big question. See how it was gonna get
gotta be able to I gotta be able to stick
with the game. I paid for the games I paid
you give me all these games. No one else is
making me cut out suddenly blacked me out for my
own health. No, I was in a different region. I mean,
it wasn't like I was in Chicago and you wanted
to play blackout rules. No, I was sitting at home
(14:41):
here in the greater Los Angeles area and you said
not for you anymore. Well, they decided, they decided to
help you a little bit. They should have met the
Jets with me after Zach Wilson turtled and wasn't touched
when he got sacked on the jets first possession. I
should have said, I'm going to another game. I'm going
to a more competitive game. Ah, but it's nothing nothing, Nope, nope,
I'm sorry. This is no competitive anymore because I just
watched my quarterback turtle and fall to the ground without
(15:03):
getting didded. No, there's no question about it. I'm gonna
go to another game. I'm gonna go watch something else.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Well, but I mean, look, you flip around, you try
to try to fight through, and you're still in a
one possession game. You're still at an opportunity. I mean,
think about this, like, even as the clock expired, it
shut up broad It's gonna reach the inside.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
It's gonna reach the zone.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
That was a chance to make the play, and Tom
could not hold on.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
It was right in his hands. Oh my gosh, that
almost happened. It was right in his hands. At him,
said the playing right at him. Look at this. He
almost caught he n Jim Jims. He believe that, Jim,
he almost caught it. Jim, Jim, Jim, that's the most
exciting play of the game. Jim Jim. That was so great.
Jim Jim.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
We running that back, Jim Jim, that was great. I
want to see how much feedback they got. Remember what
he used to call plays that he was a genius. Yeah,
they must have really hated that, because now he sounds
like a guy who's never played watch football like they
did the.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Men in Black fleshy. Jim Jim. They're not gonna make
us two Jets games anymore, are they, Jim Jim. Jim Jim.
This game, to Jim, it was every Jets Patriots game
to the last year's, which is basically unwatchable. And the Patriots,
of course, have enough, and Belichick walks off the field
laughing like a lunatic, going, whatever happens, I can always
beat the Jets. I can beat the Jets in my
eyes closed and not practicing. I could show up and
(16:23):
play eight guys on defense and seven on offense and
I'll still beat the Jets. Ah, I'm so fun. I'm
so happy right now, I'll make a Taylor Swift joke
and my Monday press conference. Eh. I'm telling you, I
get the people who say I'm done, I'm done, and
I just don't watch it. I just don't And will
that be me one day?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:40):
When I stop doing this, Yeah, I can see where
that happens. Like I said, No, I don't need it.
I Pam's gonna go. Do you want to watch the game, somebody? No,
I don't want to watch the game.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
I want to go.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I want to go to a beer garden. I don't
want to go watch the I'm gonna go and drink beer,
eat sausages and lots of cheese. I want to go
to a minor league baseball game and sit and sit
in the Peter Pan family section. What I want to do.
I don't want to go. I don't want to watch it. Jets.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
In this scenario, has the McCaskey slash Hollis family sold
the Bears oh Man because if they still own them
IDs are I'm in the same boat.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I'll see you at the beer garden. Tonight's show brought

(17:35):

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

Check it out for yourself at Discover dot com slash match. Well,
before you get into a big question, the biggest question
from the NFL this weekend. What's happening right now? Joe
(18:12):
Mixon in the end zone for the Bengals. They lead
the Rams thirteen to nine. They have also just picked
off Matthew Stafford, so the Bengals now have the football
with about four and a half to go on the
third quarter, leading the Rams thirteen to nine in a
game that's just kind of okay, it's here, it's football,
it's on. People are watching. Meanwhile, the most interesting thing
(18:34):
from the Eagles Bucks game earlier tonight, Eagles win it
twenty five to eleven, first ever twenty five to eleven
score in NFL history. Score Agami, which is a Twitter
account that keeps track of all the of all the
different scores that happened in the NFL, and their whole
thing is we tweet out when a score happens that
(18:56):
the NFL's never seen before. We have never had a
twenty five eleven game before in NFL history. So here
you go, first time that's ever happened. About that twenty
five eleven.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
You got, you got a big deal here tonight.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Yeah, it's like the one, the one thousand, like the
one thousand and eighty seventh. Uh, Scoagami. Uh of the
of the of all time. Like it's like we're up
in the thousands now of scores, so you pretty much
think we've seen a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
We've seen a lot to go right, right, it said
it happened in another game too.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
What was the other one? Seventy to twenty? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that makes sense. That's an easy one. Yeah, seventy to twenty.
I didn't see that. Sorry, yeah, I didn't even think
about it. Denver, Yeah, that one seems at Denver getting
fifty one feeling you know, some.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Folks picked them to win, outright, and some folks still
believe in their coach.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, yeah, no, not so much.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
That Super Bowl is a long time ago, and Drew
Brees ain't walking through that door.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Uh. So again, that's where we're at right now, Bengals
with the football deep in their own territory. The Rams
were driving when they got picked and when Stafford got
picked off. So again, thirteen to nine h five minutes
ago in the third quarter, the best part of this
game so far as the Bengals helmets. Yes, Tiger's pretty good.
(20:08):
Don't forget me, and I'm don't Actually it's Glass Tiger,
but it's close. It could be White Tiger's pretty good.
Any my heart will break. I have loved you for
so long.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
If you want to go down the road, I mean,
we can then celebrate the wrestling history of LT Gray.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Or other bands with the name Tiger. It is l uh. Now. Yeah,
I'm gonna say something about the NFL this weekend, and
I want your gut reaction. Okay, think about the biggest
story in the NFL this week when, thankfully, even though
as large as it was, it's not Zach Wilson parody
is a myth. As many points as they scored, it's
(20:53):
not the Miami Dolphins, the best team in football. If
I said to you, what's bigger, it's more popular the
NFL or Taylor Swift. What's your answer on after this weekend?
The NFL or Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift dwarfs everything everything.
(21:15):
I was surprised. I you know, obviously, being there, I
knew it was going to be a big deal, but
I don't think I was ready for just the enormity
of what it meant. Of how Taylor Swift at a
football game was a big deal. I'm like, she sells
out stadiums all the time. She's not like she's a
recluse selling hey until you're seeing a yetie, hey, I've
(21:37):
seen Taylor Swift. No, you can see till you go
to concert. Guess they're expensive. Taylor Swift is the biggest
star in the world.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I get that stars all the time, but this is
the biggest luxury box sighting since Roger Kleman.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
But like, if MESSI was at a game, it wouldn't
be this big a deal. But here's Taylor Swift who
now allegedly is absolutely dating Travis Kelson, and it dwarfed
everything every even Zoe, who came home from rehearsal this
weekend and said to me, Dad, was Taylor Swift in
a football game? I'm like, wow, Okay, Like I can't
(22:10):
get over how big of a deal it was. And
when you think of how how you know, we've had
unbelievable storylines this year, And yes, it was a really
weird day, one of those days where let's check you out,
this happened in the NFL and Taylor Swift and just
seeing her, yell, let's even go in the in the
in the suite with Kelsey's mom was just it was
the moment and you can't get away from it. And
(22:30):
no matter what else happened, Taylor Swift is out an
NFL game. What's the biggest story to it. Could be MVP. Nope, Hey,
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey were seen together. Now Travis
Kelsey's jersey is being sold more than Patrick Mahomes's jerseys.
I bet just swifties are buying Travis Kelsey's jerseys all
the time.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
That had the report that it was plus four hundred.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Taylor Swift is bigger than the the NFL, which is
the biggest sport in the world, the biggest sports league,
the best, and Taylor Swift basically said, yeah, if I
want to go to a game, I'll help you out
with Think about this for a minute, right because the
dumpster fire that was the week for the Chicago Bears,
and in that game, the malfeasance, the usage, the reinsertion
(23:14):
of Justin fields after a bogus concussion protocol, I'll call
it what it was, forcing him back out on the
field down a thousand points to get back in the game.
That meant nothing like It's like that week didn't exist
because Taylor Swift showed up. It goes out the door,
now dating or not.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
While they're hanging out, he's wearing the suit inspired by
an album, and you've got the big thing in terms
of if you want to go down the dating highlights.
It was the subverter film of her cleaning up part
of the suite as they were getting ready to leave,
saying she was trying to impress Mama by cleaning up
(23:55):
like that was the one piece of any of it
that made sense of Oh that they could definitely be
dad there because she's trying to show mom, Hey, Clayton
and again antiquated stuff. But folks went down that road
in a way started to run. But yeah, it became
the biggest story on every game that you were watching
or switched to. It became hey, Taylor Swift showed up
(24:17):
in Kansas City. Now let's give you a couple of highlights.
And on the game. I was kind of upset that
I didn't get to watch the second half live because
I mean, you were trying to keep track of the
over unders that were being said, of how many times
they'd reference a song, reference her or cut away to
the box.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I don't know that I was ready for that level
of dominance by her, like just like Taylor Swift, be Okay,
that's gonna be a big deal. And yes, it was
a big story this week, but I'm seeing the story. Hey,
it kind of cuts through the clutter. Here's Taylor Swift,
very big dating life. If she was dating somebody else,
is that big a deal? And I get that now
here we are twenty twenty three. If something happens with
(24:54):
a celebrity couple, it becomes really big news for a while.
Like I'm done reading about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's divorce,
Like I'm done reading about it, Like okay, Okay, I
get it, I get it. Yes, they're divorcing and she
wants the kid to go back to England with her
and it's his fault and it's her fault. I'm done.
But that gets a big deal. Okay, here's Taylor Swift
and she's dating somebody. Oh it's a big deal. But
(25:14):
then just realized the enormity of her and and who
she's dead and there's nobody else that could pull that off.
And we have top Beyonce, you know, fifteen years ago,
showing up at a concert, showing up at a game
and she's dating dating another play, We'll go to Madonna
and Rodman.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah, why if you want to hit the way back machine,
because that was when Madonna was still a monster deal. Yeah,
but I mean it's hard to compare eras right because
we didn't have social media the Internet to do what
we would have done to Madonna like we did Taylor Swift's,
Sawanna Gomez and all these people.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Now, if there was social media when Madonna was in
her heyday, there would be no other stories. It would
be a story every single day about what Madonna did
last night, every single But that's.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
The thing with Swift, right, The number of people that
camp outside of any place she has been cited, the.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
People standing outside the No, I don't need to watch
the game, I'm gonna stand outside her suite. I mean
they were winning the game, like fifty to nothing, but
like samside sweet, not for an autograph, just to get
a glimpse of walking out.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Jared till the Walter, he's the guy that got the
clip of them walking by in the hallway that goes
viral and all of a sudden he's on TMZ and
do all sorts of publicity because he had his phone
out in the hallway eric Stone Street.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
It's it's it really baffled me that this becomes that
big a deal. And then and then I kind of
then as as they unfolded, I was like, oh, no, no, no,
not now I'm getting it now a little bit more like,
it's not that it's not that I I never it
is not that I didn't I didn't think it could
happen or it wasn't something. It was just, boy, is
it really that big a deal? And as a day
went on, it's like, yeah, no, this is dwarfing. Even
(26:55):
Terry Bradshaw's talking about her when when when they're they're
giving out game balls at the end, and he said,
he said, well, my game ball goes with Travis Kelcey.
And he says he actually says, you know, Taylor's been
a big fan of mine for a long time. He's
bought my last couple of albums and come to my
last couple of shows. So I want to help you.
I mean, every single pore of the NFL, no matter
what kind of fan you are, this was the top story.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Well, the other thing is and as much as I
may be done with Travis Kelcey to a degree, right,
I mean, because he's been everywhere since the last super Bowl,
and good for him, right, run with it, do your commercials,
take out. He reminded, everybody, shoot your shot, Shoot your shot.
Why not pretty girl at the at work, pretty girl
(27:38):
at the at the gym.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Whatever, don't be creepy, right, don't be that guy, gotta
be if you go down, you can't be. It's to fail, right,
if you go down in flames, and go down in flames,
that's it, that's it. I always say.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
If you're gonna fail, fail spectacular, you go down, take
your shot. You took your shot with the largest star
in the galaxy right now. And whether you're just hanging
out or you're legitimately in a romantic relationship, right now,
you were the envy oh yeah yeah of everybody. Hey,
eventually you're the scourge of everybody. Yeah if when this goes.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Bad, oh yeah yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Ready.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Now, look, players get two thirds of all revenue from
Jersey since so the last twenty four hours, Travis Kelcey
was already rich. But we always talk about how he's underpaid, right,
that's what everybody kept telling me.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Not anymore, not anymore. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
He just made up whatever gap in the last twenty
more hours, and now we're gonna get famous because we
we got to continue to mention how when we interviewed
Travis Kelcey at the Super Bowl a couple of years ago,
he sat right.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Across from her. I got a picture of us. I sat,
I sat twelve or twelve or sixteen inches away from
Travis kels was a good conversation. Yeah, he had he
had the OJ Simon, he had the truck. Hat I
sat that that clubbs Now TMZ's gonna call me shut
that picture. What was it like sitting that close to
Travis Kelcey two years ago? Well, I can tell you
(28:57):
for ten grand. Here, here's ten grand. Tell me that story.
Here's what it was like. I like that. That's good.
Get in there and sell, sell sell. I mean if
I say that, hey, I you and I sat sixteen
inches away from Travis Kelcey at the super Bowl two
years ago, do you think, like suddenly our Twitter followers
are just explode?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
But think about this, I mean, how much this blows up.
I mean the degrees of separation. I tried explaining that
to my daughters today and like, wait, you've talked to
him before. It's like, yeah, yeah, we sat right a
crab sat right. Now, I'll find the picture.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
He was a great interview. He was great. He took
twelve minutes. He was awesome, he was great. He was
supposed to leave and he can't.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
He justa and his guys are sitting there the whole time, like,
come on, he's dating now, he's dating Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Now he's the most famous guy on the planet.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
And I think to myself that one a wonderful world.
Shoot your shot, ladies and gentlemen. This goes out both
ends of it. Let's go twitter. It ou about you know.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
You know, It's got me thinking about all the times
when I shot my shot earlier in my life and
it just didn't work. And there's nothing I regret about
because I'm like, well I would she wasn't gonna say
yes if I wasn't going to say it's a numbers game, man,
it's like one of It's like they say in golf,
you miss one hundred percent of the putts you leave short.
Say you right, you miss one hundred percent of the
(30:16):
shots you leave short. So it's like, okay, you will
not date one hundred percent of the girls. You do
not ask out, you know, I mean, I forget.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Which sitcom was, but like it was the Hey, I'm
going to show you how well I uh, you know,
do with women. And he keeps asking whom out and
finally gets the phone number. It's like, all right, going, yeah,
but you asked out like sixty weeks ye ye, yeah,
but I got one. I got what I got. I work.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon. Right now, Rams and the Bengals eleven
minutes ago in the fourth quarter of the Bengals with
a sixteen to nine lead. We'll keep you updated on this.
But still a day after and when no one's talking
(31:06):
about Taylor Swift or the Jets, Hey, hey, it's about
the Dolphins scoring seventy against the Broncos. Keep going. It
was a day that it was shocking. We don't see that.
I mean, it's the second most points ever scored in
the NFL. They were a field goal away from scoring
the most points in an NFL game in the history
(31:28):
of the league seventy three points and the game that
had seventy three points, as all the rumors that it
was that that the players threw it because they were
mad Bears Bears, Redskins, right, and there was rumors that
they threw the game because they were mad about something
with their ownership. Ownership had a lot of problems, as
we well know. Could have scored seventy three points in
(31:49):
a game, most points ever in NFL history in a game,
and instead of kicking a field goal at the end,
the Dolphins kneeled on the football. Why Mike McDaniel's played
very eloquent, Why they did not go for seventy three?
Speaker 4 (32:03):
It felt like chasing points and chasing a record. That's
not what we came to the game to do. That
doesn't have a bearing on the overall season outcome. I
saw it, as you know, in that ten times out
of ten you can see and kneel down in those
(32:23):
situations because there was a there was attainable record. That
was cool, But the message that I thought it would
send wasn't really in line with how I view things.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Nah, that's a load of crap. Should have gone for it.
Sean Payton would have understood, Hey, you have a chance.
This is your dark side of the moon. This could
be what you get remembered for in decades from now.
In the NFL, when the Dolphins scored set most points
in NFL history, it's a field goal at the end.
And one could have argued that Sean Payton kind of
had it coming for his comments about you a tongue
(32:59):
of by low talking about him last year. I'm sure
I remember when he was Chesty's sitting in that recliner. Yeah,
when he was a member of the Fox family. But
he got chesty and he talked about to us, saying
he should have been replaced by Teddy Bridgewater. You deserved
anything that came. I got chesty.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
You blamed Hackett, You really threw out and tried to
set yourself up as super genius Wiley coyote, and you
were getting run.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
How fast can Peyton get back to TV? Now? How
fast can he come back to TV?
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Well, I mean, look, as I said, before the season
even began, when all of that stuff was swirling, when
he went after Hackett and everybody's like, oh, look he's
propping up he loves Russell Wilson, Like no, no, no, no, no,
when this goes bad, and it will, he's got Wilson
set up as a fall guy. And it doesn't mean
that Wilson has to be terrible. It's just if you're
getting boat raced, you're scoring twenty points a game. Who's
(33:51):
the guy that you just got signed to this monster contract.
Who's going the mid thirties quarterbacker? You?
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah, he would have, he would have found, he would
have understood that a chance for history. He would say,
doesn't matter. Seventy seventy three at that point, what doesn't matter?
They were able to score seventy three most points NFL history.
He's enough of an NFL as story and he gets
the game. He was just across that way. It would
have been.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
I mean he was salty as hell and short with
reporters anyway.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
No difference. I mean, Dark side of the Moon. They
would have made NFL films versions of this game for
the next five decades. I mean, you would have been immortal.
Kicked the field goal, look kicked the field goal. He
didn't throw the damn towel. Keep scoring points. Coming up next,
Jason Smith Mike Harmon Live from the tie rack dot
Com Studios. We have a huge question for the most
(34:41):
popular team in the NFL. After what we saw yesterday,
that's next, right here, Jason and Mike Fox
