Yes, we have Arizona in Philadelphia, the Phillies three home runs,
three nothing lead of the Diamondbacks. Can one of the
televisions please be turned to NFL network as they are
rep playing the Jets went over the Eagles. I'd like
NFL Networks so I can watch that game. A cat. Yeah,
but we got Liberty in Middle Tennessee. The bestest hair. Now,
the best is we've got picture in picture of the
same game. How often you get to see two different
(01:12):
angles of a playoff game and an NFL game at
the same time. No, it's it's it's yeah, I know,
it's it's uh, it's it's pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It's pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Put the Jets on, put the Jets in, the Eagles
on it on NFL. That work.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I had a deal with Tony starks death airing on
Oh hey, hey, hey, we got to spend some time
on that tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
This is it's kind of a big deal. Just letting

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I just know it. Uh. Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, today is the day. This date,
twenty twenty three is the date that Tony Stark dies,
saving the world, undoing the snap.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
No, he's not He's not shot. No, no, no, he's
not shot. He's not shot. I shouldn't side out because
I saw the movie. He's not shut. He wearing he
wears iron mean, he has bulletproof armor on. You can't
just shoot, not with what we're out with the musket
that you can well, I mean, look, they did have
to show his face.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Not gonna work they did. Okay, yeah, but okay, okay. No,
he wasn't shot saving the world. He was crushed today.
It's this is the day because remember MCU moved ahead
five years with Endgame and everything else.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
This is the day.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
October seventeenth, twenty twenty three. Tony Stark final words. I
am iron Man. Snap everybody's back.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Can we do the addendum to that once upon a
studio thing they did the other night where Mickey gets
all sad about Walt Disney as he addresses him and
he can have a pick. Sure, Tony Stark, thanks for
making billions of dollars and helping to really push this
company forward. That could happen to his hay off some
of the bloated salaries of employees that have been shed
(03:12):
through the years to buy the rights to McAfee.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Now, look and if honestly, if Tony Stark actually did
die today, like if today was the day right October seventeen,
twenty twenty three, with everything that has gone on in
the world, his final words, he would have had this
snap and he would have said, I am Iron Man.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
J E. T. S.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Snap Avengers, New York City. He would have been excited. Yeah, Jets,
he would have said. He would have done that snap
and said j E. T. S and boom everybody's back.
Really you think he was gonna be a Jets fan,
Sure tell you. Come on, it's easy to be a
Giants fan. Go on.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Captain America is is probably the Giants to be a
Giants fan right now, here's why. Captain America heritage. He's
grew up in New York, but Captain America now not
Chris Evans, but Captain America from Brooklyn, right. He would
have been alive when the Giants were playing football. Y
A tiddle, all those guys everything else. He would have
been a Giants fan. On general principle, Tony Stark would
(04:16):
have been a Jets fan. Oh you root for the Giants.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I root for the Jets.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Mike on opposite.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
What do you got?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
You know how he's not a Jets fan?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
What's that?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
No, no line at all there, because it would have
said the Jets killed him instead of.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Whatever the Jets like, the Jets killed Carl like the Jets.
Hey man, we see how many stories of the obituaries
each year of this team let him.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Down one more time?
Speaker 3 (04:44):
But yeah, no, cat, I mean my cousin blame Cordell
Stewart from my uncle. Really yeah, what that's wow, that's dark.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
That had a really bad game against the Vikings. She
went for she went to the dark against the my family.
I got bunch in the back of the head by
my grandma.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
No, no, no, we were just laughing, you know, because
she threw it out.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
I was like, yes, And it was that game that
that took him out, lifelong Bears fan. And she blamed
Cornell Stewart at the funeral, and you.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Know, Cornell killed a guy with that three interception day
really oh yeah, the body's right.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
But I got to talk about that at one point.
I'm sure he loved you bring in that thought. It
was pretty far.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, I had a bad game. Didn't know I killed
anybody though. That's my fault, my fault, Sorry about that. Well,
you know, but he would Tony, but it's my family
that would go for that joke.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
It is.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Well, yeah, you know I met both, you met my kids. Yes,
I mean you get it, they get that.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Uh so, yes, we'll remember the life of Tony Stark,
iron man killed by the Jets. Okay, no, no, no,
he saved the world. The Jets were probably the last
good thing on his mind. He thought about his He
thought about his daughter, He thought about Gwyneth Paltrow, he
thought about American cheeseburgers, and then he thought about the Jets,
and he snapped his fingers greatness of favro And maybe
(06:05):
maybe he even brought back a healthy Aaron Rodgers. Maybe
the snap me, hey we got what do we do? Boom,
bring him back a healthy Aaron Rodgers. And then suddenly, whoa,
Now we're kicking ass man. Now the odds in Vegas
just shot way up. All the people came out of
all the people came back. All the people.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah, all the people. Rogers is back.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Rogers. Can you put that core on his on his achilles? Hey?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
You you wait till he comes back after this week's bobs.
You just wait till he's back. Now he's doing infommercials
in the middle of the night time. Boy, you apply
this thing. It's kind of like Joe Namanth when he
used to do to the flexow four fifty four. Hi,
I'm Aaron Rodgers. I'm here for Ivermectin and doctor Neil
latrosh right here. Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:45):

(07:06):
because oh, another big day today and everybody's talking and talking, talking, talking,
But we mentioned off the top. Phillies now have a
four to nothing lead over the Diamondbacks. And every time
I look up, a member of the Phillies is screaming
out of the dugout at somebody else on the field.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Uh. Now it's six. Next. Chris Stapleton just hit a double. Yes, great.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Playing a mean guitar solo. Yeah, bass uh So now
it is six nothing. Yes, the TV is a little
bit ahead or or a little bit behind six nothing as
they bat now in the bottom of the sixth thing
there in the cusp of taking a two games to
none lead, and we told you last night, for everybody
was like, Oh, the Astros, they're gonna call the Assos
come back.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
They're good.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
They're two teams in the last twenty seven years down
to ZIP have come back to win. Two teams have
come back to win. The Astros are not nearly the
team they were a year ago. They're a ninety win
team that garely squeaked in. And this Diamondbacks team is
not the team. And suddenly I can say, hey, man,
they're gonna get it all going. So I'm here to
tell you I have fully accepted. I've spent a lot
(08:07):
of time with this the last twenty four hours. I
have now fully accepted because I can see the way
it's going. I can see that the Rangers are playing
their best baseball. Now they're gonna get a bounce when
it comes to the World Series. The Phillies just have
that aura about them, and I have to understand, and
I've accepted that the Phillies are gonna win the World Series.
That's just how it's gonna go. Oh, you gotta passion.
(08:27):
A couple of home runs today from Babe Schwarber getting
his full run and the level that their the batting
order is rolling through right now. It's just absolutely vexing
you to no end.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
And it made me realize that in a World Series
where I have to either root or okay, I'd have
to either see the Phillies win so another team in
my division win, or I'd have to watch Jacob deGrom
in street clothes and MaTx Schurzer celebrate the World Series
after we had them both and now here they are
(09:00):
on the Rangers, I had done. What do I What
would I rather see? Because I gotta see one of them, right,
I gotta see one that is truly end game.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
And it made me.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Realize that I'd rather see the Rangers win. I'd rather
you know, I'd rather see happy happy, your sureser. I'd
be okay with de Gral. Look, deGrom was great for
a long time. He okay, I can deal with that.
I'd much rather see that than the film.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Ilad into a friend of mine walking the dog this afternoon,
wearing the Astros hat tough run, like, but you'd won
enough and tried to make a joke. He's like, well,
you know you can bring the trash cans back.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
You didn't call them a bleeping cheater?
Speaker 3 (09:33):
No, h well, you know, try to be civil and
h throughout the line. It's like, well you had the original.
It's like, no, no, no, but our guys got paid to
throw games. It's like, or are you talking when we
dominated you in two thousand and five? Boom, I'm going
back to the nineteen nineteen World Series.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
But that's where they joke.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I'm like, yeah, but they got paid, and they got
they got off, they got banned, but.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
They busted me in the third game when Kerr won,
I got no more cash. The Jason Smith showing Mike Carmon, look,
that's gonna happen. The Phillies are gonna I realized it.
And another World Series where I said, okay, well last
year was the Astros of the Phillies. And what did
I say? I'm not rooting for the Astros, But I'm
really not rooting for the Phillies. I'm not I'm not
(10:18):
saying I'm rooting for the Astros to win, but I'm
really not rooting for the Phillies. This year, it's a
little bit different where I would now not be rooting
for the Phillies and I would kind of be rooting
for the Rangers, because the Rangers winning is not anything
more than you know, it's just me personally. Like last
year the ass was winning.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's tough to watch the Astros win after the cheating scandal.
They get to keep everything, players got to play, everything
else was tough. This is just for me, So I'm like, okay,
I could get behind the Range a little bit. And
also it might be a little bit of me feeling
like the Mets have a bit of a say here
in the World Series. Hey, look, we let you buy
our two best pitches and give them three hundred million
dollars and we'll give you a prospect that's really, really good, and.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
We're gonna go to the World's There. Okay, that's fine,
We're gonna go to the World's It's all good. So
I find myself now saying, okay, I can now root
for the Rangers in the World Series rather than last
year just hoping the Phillies would lose because the other
result wasn't great. This year it's a little bit different.
But yeah, I realized that what do I want to see?
And you know de Grom de Grom winning would really
(11:17):
upset me more. And I don't know why I feel
because we had the best of de Gram. He left,
He's getting paid a lot of money to not pitch
for this year, and now that's always stuck in your crud.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Okay, but but but but then watching Bryce Harper and
his head band and him screaming out of the dugout
and the Phillies all screaming at each other, and then
hearing the Blake, the Bravos and Blake whoever we play next,
and always the Mets.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I mean, now I.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Realize, Okay, I can have them win. I can have
them win. I keep waiting for them to like. They
remind me of one of my uncles and the crowd
he would hang around where they had the Marshall Tucker
band playing in the background.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
That's what I think.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Around here talking about Tail two sees. Remember how much
everybody hated Trey Turner and then the second TJ Jason
Smith knows. Can't you see that the Phillies are going
to win the World Series.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
DJ want to dial up a little hurty and a
love song and.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Whoa can't jessy uh Philly six not the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Doing to me.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
I'm gonna get on a freight train and ride as
far as I can. I'm gonna crawl inside and die
DJ and I never coming back.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, I mean just want watching them all yell at
each other and then yell and seeing all the you know,
gonna I know, I'm gonna see Rob mclaney at the
World Series.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
He used to be wearing an Eagles.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Scarf and a Wrexham hat and a Philly shir got
that far and season too. The hell, man, what the
hell it's gonna be Bryce Harpel see because he ain't
accepted him for a while.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Fellas you've been with me on this and now all
of a sudden it's back. I accepted Bryce Harper when
he was knocking the Braves out. That was great. Now
that now everything is him grabbing onto the railing and
yelling no I can't root for I'm sorry, can't have it.
I can't have another team in my division. Five teams
in my division, three of them in the last five
(13:21):
years are gonna go to the World.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Series and win. None of them are my.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Team, but getting ahead of it, I mean, we get
Pete and Cavelia comes back. I Travis Hafner.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
If you said to me a twenty years of Travis
Hofter and then that's pretty good one. In the next
five years, three of these teams are gonna go to
the World Series and wait, wait really yes, three of them? Okay,
well let me look and see. Well, the Marlins forget it,
they stink They're never going. Okay, So I got to
the playoffs though, so okay, so four out of five
and the Mets are one of those teams. Mets, Braves, Phillies, Nationals. Okay,
(13:52):
three of those teams are gonna go and win. Yeah,
what they're gonna And it's three different teams. Not one
team is gonna go and win three times. It's gonna
be different teams. Oh yeah, Mets are gonna wait, yes,
and now I'm gonna watch every team but the Mets,
every team but the Mets. So yeah, Now I'm a
Rangers fan. Now I gotta start listening to Creed all
the time.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I think, sweet, I will it just helps up the
musical act for tonight. If that helps, I'll start listening
to Creed. I'll draw, I'll drive up and down to
I'm gonna listen to Creed. I will watch the best
of Creed Bratton from the Office. I will anything with Creed.
I'll watch all three Creed movies.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Again, helps you like Creed, Exit out By to Fresca, Exit,
Swollen Dumb. The Jason Smith Show is my best friend.
Mike Carmon frost pig a little, a little violent after
last night, which I can kind of d I kind
of understand he.
Speaker 3 (14:44):

He should have.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Song I may have heard nine hundred thousand times.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
As a child. Play that one again.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
It's actually one of Pam and I's songs.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Very weird though.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
It's actually one of Pam and I songs from before
we got together? Okay, yeah, like our song after what
we Got Together is after All by Peter setaran Cher
that that's our song, and uh but like can't you
see before we go together?
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah, yeah, after all the stops?
Speaker 1 (16:07):
So that was our song before, So of course I
have I have a deep connection to can't you See?
Speaker 3 (16:15):
They just played the Beach Live festival down in my
head by the house. Naturally I had to go walk
around so I could hear a little of the didn't
the lead singer die Morshall Tucker Band a few years ago?
But you keep going yeah, no, I get it, But
I mean, I think, okay, all right, very good. I'd
have to look that up and I don't know that
under but that you just killed a guy off.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
No, I'm pretty sure he did. Somebody big in the
band died a few years ago. If I'm not, and
I thought it was a singer, but I could be mistaken. Oh, Jason,
this is an LMFAO.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
This is not stop. There's there's l f O and
there's l m f a O, and there's both. It's fine.
There's Breece Hall and there's Bryce Hall. There's okay, you
still all red food. An apology, Hardie Rock in the house.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Tonight make it six nothing, Phillies with the lead over
the Diamondbacks, and I believe Randy Johnson is warming up
in the bullpen for the Phillies ready to come in.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Everybody.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Everybody's got long hair. But you know what, I can
reach out to him. We might be able to get
him on air if he comes in and closes this game. Okay,
you might be right. We follow each other, oh card call,
and we go back and forth on oh nice.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Okay, well I guess I love him then sure, yeah, yeah,
get him at them.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Have to wait until you know they win it all
and he can come out and mock you as a
Mets fan. But we'll figure it out.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
So the other big game going on right now on
NFL Network Eagles and the Jets.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
It's been a tough second half. They have not scored.
The Jets have held him out of the end zone.
It's been a close fight. Three turnovers so far for
the Jets. They're staying in it, and I'm thinking, if
they could get one more turnover, maybe they could.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Win this game. They might be able to pull it out.
What they're gonna need another Derena, need to get the
ball the short field to be able to get in
the end zone, and then I think they can pull
this game out.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
I really hoped we'd moved past this game, that the
luxury and all the storylines emanating from Cowboys. It's the
most watched game of the years, that it's the most
watched game of the year in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
The Jets have the How about this? The Jets own
three days. The Jets have the three most watch games
in the NFL this season, the most watching see the data.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
What was this? Because there's a lot of Eagle fans.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
They have Monday, they have Monday Night against the Bills, right,
they have Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Against the the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Because of well, because of Taylor Swift and the Sunday
game that's been the highest rated was this one.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
So the Jets have the highest rated games on Sunday,
Sunday Night, and Monday Night. It's like winning the triple
crowd of the NFL.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Season of fans and Rexham Jets Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Yeah. I mean, it's not about you, but you take
credit for it. Of course you're still there to perform now.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
And I went and before before you get to the
the really fun hot take on the NFL MVP.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
The Jets have talked a lot the last couple of days,
but how big Aaron Rodgers' presence has been. He's talking
about rehabbing and everything else, and things are great. I
told you on the sideline he looks like the head coach.
He's got the headset on and he's making suggestions to
Robert Salah and Nathaniel Hackett. What did I say, dude,
you got to get your ass to New York. They
need you, The Jets need you now. None of this
(19:22):
is rehabbit in California. I love the your year and
you're close to me in Malibu. Whatever you are, you
know only a few miles away from here where we are.
But you got to get your ass in New York
because they need you, they need your presence there. You
are a calming influence. No, and what happened? He goes there?
And now we're three and three. I would done all
I ken, Now, I would say my job.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
The greatest thing for you is that it had the
unintended effect of actually helping the team, because really this is.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
All about look at me, look at me. I should
get a right when the Jets on you. I got
Rogers to go to New York to put that calming
effect on the Jets. And now we're three and three.
I'm still waiting on my ring from the Rams.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
We wait on that. You we're waiting on that. Yeah,
screw Lebron to show up at the Blaze people. He
does stand rings pizza place. Off.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
You get the Rams ring, I get the Jets. So
I'm like five behind Brady. Now I'm catching up here
a little bit, and I get and I know I
got more time than he's got to get more rings
on the field because he's retired, So I know I
got two. But I keep going, Hey, Tom, you're done
with rings, man, I keep going it's two free here.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Though he's still in shape, he could come back. I
got No, he's done. He's he's done. He's done. With
the state of NFL quarterback, where would you rank him?
Raised he hasn't taken a snap this year, when would
you rank and he'd still be a top ten quarterback
at this point.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
He's just ahead of Justin Fields because Justin Fields is hurt.
But he's just behind. So speaking of quarterbacks, that was
a hot take for you.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
What if he was coming back, he would come back,
but even want to play the Jets? So what do
you want? What do you want?
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
We're getting into week seven of the NFL season, and
you know, last week we talked about how Devon a
Chan was the MVY the first five right, nobody else
has been well, the first five weeks of the season,
he was the MVP. There's nobody had a bigger impact
on the team. But now he's out for four weeks.
So it's tough to tough to win even though you're
averaging twelve yards of carry. Wait till I tell you
(21:12):
right now, who has an open path to winning the
NFL MVP.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Open path? In other words, all the green grass open downfield.
It's great, it's great.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
It's the green grass that was in front of the
Notre Dame returner when he made that one cutback in
the US.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
All that green grass. Nobody even all eleven guys on
USC and the kickoff team are on the left side
of the field. He makes one cut and there's nobody there,
nobody there besides the execution of the special teams. And
I'm all for it. The the fact that your kicker
can't blasts the ball out of out of the end zone.
(21:50):
College kickers right.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Into the game.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
College kickers come on, man, terrible.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Uh, but we're convincing. Where you're with me on the
fact that the MVP is going to be a quarterback, right,
MVP is gonna be a question.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I can zag on this one now.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
But most likely the MVP is going to be a quarterback. Okay,
And you have to win to be MVY. You have
to be on a winning too. You have to be
a playoff team. You're not gonna go five and twelve.
So someone like Kirk Cousins isn't gonna win NFL n
oh no. Although he's listening to Creed now that could
propel him to see. But if too many pel him higher,
(22:27):
if too many people listen to Creed, I think Creed
loses its magic.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Yeah, but I think everybody's trying to make Creed happen.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
But it would have been great though, if the Cowboys
announced And as much as I love to see Dolly
getting her run, but for halftime, if the Cowboys had
brought Creed back for another run, you.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Loved him years ago. They're back.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
What you need to win the NFL MVP is a storyline,
and you need to have a great season obviously, and
there's no quarterback that's running away with it. The guy
you would say closest to the top right now is
maybe too. He's also polarizing, so he's not always going
to get the benefit of the doubt from everybody. Brock
Purty certainly is someone who's going to get a lot
(23:08):
of love. But the game last week that did a
lot to hurt him. He's the product of a lot
of players around him. He's going to be polarizing too.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
It probably helped the argument for McCaffrey more than anything. Yeah,
but no way now McCaffrey's hurt. Although it's going to
happen the kicker makes the forty one yarder. No, the
conversation is a lot different. It became a lot easier
for people that just don't like the concept of a
brock party. But he didn't, and all his family members
who were at the game with him disappointed. Not only
(23:36):
did you embarrass me? Did you embarrass ace? Did you
embariss your whole family?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
So, knowing that that's the case and you need to
have a storyline, your team needs to win. He's in
the top five of every quarterback category right now. His
team is winning, and his team is a big story,
and his team could have his division somewhat clinched by Thanksgiving.
(24:05):
I know where you're going, and you know you know
I'm telling you if I'm saying it, because you know
how much I've said in the past that he stinks
and he has stunk big time, and.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Then I always loved him. But it's good to see
you come over to the other side, Bud, Bud, you
stop the crack of the bat. But there is a
huge path and it is wide open for Jared Goff
to win NFL MVP. Now go back to everything I
just said before you knew who I was talking about.
(24:36):
Top five in every quarterback category. His team is winning.
They're a great story. They could have their division clinched
by Thanksgiving. Three point fifty and two touchdowns. Last week
he got Jamison Williams back, and already Jamison Williams has
contributed more this year than he did last year. Saint
Brown is back. He had, he had had a thousand targets.
Now suddenly Josh Reynolds, who was the number one guy,
(24:56):
is like the number three guy, and it doesn't matter
because there's so many spens at his disposal. Or don't
forget good and Laporta is good too, but there's so
many players he has at his disposal.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
This offense is loaded. And I told you for the
Lions themselves, you just gotta wait till week five, Week six,
Jameson Williams comes back. Then things will take off. They've
been better than expected so far. And you're talking about
a season where nobody's really jumping up and running away
with the NFL MVP two is gonna be polarizing. Party's
gonna be polarizing. But Jared Goff this story. He throws
(25:27):
for thirty thirty five touchdowns forty five hundred yards. The
Lions win the division, and it's an unreal story that
we're in. We're in hell right now because the Jets
are have won twelve in a row with Zach Wilson,
and here go to the Lions and Jared Goff, jed.
The path is there for Jared Goff to win NFL MVP.
I never thought I would say that ever, but I
(25:49):
can't ignore what's going on. I can't ignore what's happening,
and we'll continue to unfold over the course of the season,
but right now there is a path for him to
get there and win the end.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
What's gonna be interesting is the next couple of weeks.
You're probably playing without David Montgomery, who's been fantastic Jamiir
Gibbs in limited duty and for fantasy owners and people
expecting him as a rookie to come in and dominate,
they're a little bit salty. But Montgomery fits not only
the attitude but the style of play they want to do.
They're in Detroit, goal line work and everything else. So
(26:20):
his absence could mean big things for the Jared Goff
narrative to really take off, because I think there's gonna
be some backlash just because there's a bunch of voters
that don't like Jared guff I think there's more voters
that that are gonna say as party really that good
is to a really that there's gonna be more voters
(26:40):
that are more polarizing. But both of those guys have
teammates that you would make the argument because look what
Tyreek Hill's doing. Yeah, right, sure, he may have a
thousand yards receiving after this week. Yeah, I mean think
about that. We're not even halfway through the season and
he's running wild. So it's the idea that between Hill
and McCaffrey that you're gonna be able to tear down
(27:03):
the arguments. Right now, Tua is the betting favorite at
plus three fifty, Mahomes at plus four fifty because you
look at it's him and tradition and wait these guys
to get going. Yeah, you're waiting for these guys to
get gone. And then Josh Allen plus seven hundred. He
had to have an MRI on his shoulder because of
that dopey move he did. And look, everybody likes the
quarterback to go and be tough guy and stand up
(27:25):
for his teammates until they don't another unnecessary hit for
him Jalen Hurts at plus seven to fifty. Then you
have Bertie at eleven to one, McCaffrey at fifteen to one.
Lamar Jackson at eighteen to one is interesting to me
as well, right, because they're only going to go as
far as he takes them. Right, the Lions and Goff
(27:48):
is fantastic. There's component parts to that team that you like, hype,
their defense plays really well, the divisions there to go
take and not to say, hey, Goff gets her or
miss his time or whatever that someone else steps in immediately.
But for Lamar Jackson, he is.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
That team, right.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
But the thing that hurts him is that we've seen
him do his thing already and win MVP.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
And now what's a new a new Lamar Jackson?
Speaker 1 (28:13):
All right, but to do it again you have to
do what we saw and maybe a little bit more,
just because while we saw this, is he as good
as he was during his MVP season that the door
is open for Golf to get there because there's no hey, look,
Mahomes has already thrown eighteen touchdowns and he's on his way.
There's nobody that way currently at twenty to one, Oh,
I'll get your.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Er more's both twenty to one. Those are two guys
that if I were driving across into the Nevada and
the Nevada border right now, I would take a look
at at those odds. I'll tell you, man, get your
opportunity knocks. Get your odds in the stafford at fifty
to one.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Any byte No.
Speaker 1 (28:49):

that phrase. Jared Goff NFL MVP. I'm trying ed Jared
Goff NFL MVP. All right now, the Phillies just won't
stop scoring runs no matter what. The beards are getting longer,
the runs are getting more. Let's find out exactly what's happening.
(29:32):
From Kevin Wired, Kay Dob, what do you got for us.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Yeah, the floodgates have opened in Philadelphia. It's now ten
nothing in favor of the Phillies against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
They're in the bottom of the seventh inning and Kyle
Schwarmer partying like it's twenty sixteen. Two home runs tonight.
Trade Turner also with a solo shot that made it
three to nothing, and then after that the floodgates just opened,
beginning with a six inning three RBI doubles, an RBI
(29:55):
single as well as the scoring fly ball. Is how
they got to ten runs in a Philadelphia their back
Aaron Nola's outstanding start, throwing six innings, allowed no runs,
struck out seven batters, allowed just three base hits overall.
Another baseball news, Dodgers' president Andrew Friedman has confirmed that
(30:15):
Dave Roberts will return to the team next season as manager.
He also said they'd welcome back Clayton Kershaw if he
chose to play in at twenty At twenty four, are they.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Really gonna say no, Hey, sorry, Clayton, I mean right,
we're letting you go. Clayton go back to Texas.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Well, after that last playoff start he had, I don't
think anyone could blame him if he did, but anyway,
in the NFL, ESPN reporting Colt Snows tackle Grover Stewart
has been suspended for six games without pay for violating
the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy. Injury News, Jaguars quarterback
Trevor Lawrence says he's optimistic he'll be able to start
Thursday night against the Stints despite his knee injury. He
(30:51):
did say that it has dramatically approved over the last
couple of days. However, he won't know until game day
if he'll be able to suit up. In New Orleans,
eles A signed veteran wide receiver Julio Jones to a
one year deal. He begin in the practice squad before
quickly being elevated to the active roster, and ESPN saying
Ford Andre's running back Chritian McCaffrey, wide receiver Deebo Samuel,
(31:11):
and left tackle Trent Williams all have a chance to
play Monday night against the Vikings despite dealing with some injuries.
And in the NHL, we've got three games in action
right now. Hurricane Sharks scoreless in San Jose. Same for
the Stars and Golden Knights. Out in Sin City, Cracking
and Avalanche and Seattle. They are also scoreless all those
games in the first period. Bancks to you guys, Thanks
(31:32):
a bunch appreciated buddy. The Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike Harmon. We are live from the tire
rack dot Com studios. Coming up next, maybe maybe the
Phillies have more runs.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
You know, we'll see to show you what it means
to lose to the Jets.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Sometimes teams just panic. We saw that today as the
Eagles made a huge free agent signing. We break it
down next and explain to millennials, just who this person. Yeah,
I also have to apologize to a guy you killed off.
We'll tell you what that's all about. Guy coming up
next right here. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Jermaine Jackson, this is Creed. This is no Stuart like
little Jermaine Stewart. Jamaine Stewart. That's what I meant to say,
Jermaine Stewart, not al Stuart. That would be a year
of the Year of the Cat, the Year of the Cats.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I mean, we've been celebrating the singer songwriters of the seventies,
so why not Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Phillies lead the Diamondbacks ten zip as the Diamondbacks bat
in the top of the eighth inning, and every inning,
every member of the Phillies their hair gets longer, their
beards get longer. This is going to be a pain
in the ass to watch for the next just watching
this all and they're yelling at each other.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
They gave you the damn Jets game. Just shut up.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
They just keep your eyes fixed on that Monitorday be fine.
I have to say elsewhere. And you know, wife, because
this game's all blowout. NFL new work right now. Jets
and the Eagles mid fourth quarter, Jets keeping it closed
fourteen twelve and Elliott missed that thirty seven yards of fields.
Big miss.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Huge.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
I mean you also had that drop ball earlier. The
g a big deal.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
You know, the referendum on these quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
We talked about it yesterday between Rock perty and and
Jalen Hurts, Like, you watch the game, right, you watch
the game Jets.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
And Jets are gonna need another turnover. They're gonna they're
gonna need Jalen Hurts to give them the football.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
And I think they can. I think they could. They
can get one more. They got to do.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
You know what's coming?
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Why?
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Why is this on?
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Well? No, I'm just saying I think this is what
the Jets need to do to be able to win
the game.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Sounds like you know something.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I think that's what they need to be able to
But they need another turnover. They need a short field.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
He went and saw Madame Leota like she gave him.
Like when when I say short field, they need.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Like an eight yard field like they need like you know, yeah,
not not a short field, like they need a turnover
that gets it into the red zone so they can
make sure they get in the end zone. I mean
that that's I mean, I can't trust it. Maybe I
can trust Zach to throw a good two point conversion,
but to try to get him in the end zone.
You know, it's got to be Breeze Hall. It's how
the Jets are gonna win. But they gotta get a turnover.
We're gonna turn it off.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
They gotta get it.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
No, don't turn it off. We don't know. I mean,
it's almost Halloween.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Look, it's gonna be some other horror movie than me
watching another Joey replay of The Jets.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Win.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I have an amazing Halloween scary movie, new recommendation for
you guys in ten minutes. And when he says amazing, amazing,
it's here's how good it is. You guys can watch
it on the other side of the glass during the show.
Not that you would do that. We only watch good movies,
but you could watch it on.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
The other side of the glass during the show. Is
it something I've already seen?
Speaker 2 (34:41):
And I almost.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Guarantee you haven't seen it. I can almost guarantee you have.
He's telling you what's great. You're probably I'm telling you.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
You may not like some of my sports take and
disagree with things like Jets, Jets, Jets.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
But movies, TV, food, I won't steer you wrong. I
watch Rug trust me. It's tense, it's nerve racking, it's
anxiety inducing. It's a fantastic movie. Sounds like something I
want to go spend my two hours. And there's a
huge kick to it.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
I got killing that's got a nap written all over it.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Screamed nap time for for harmon.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
But how does it scream naptime where I say it's scary,
it's creepy, it's anxiety wick for sure he did, Yeah
he did.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Yeah that's true. So anything, anything could Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's sure.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
I'm trying hard to fall asleep in the middle of
him killing a lot of people. And you fell asleep.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
You fell asleep. He was at the bottom of the steps.
You were asleep. He was halfway up the steps.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
You were asleep.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
He was back down to the bottom of the steps.
You were still asleep. He gets to the top of
the steps.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
You wake up.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Hey, Oh he got to the top of the steps.
That's the important part. I mean, I knew he was
killing a bunch of people. Wake me up.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
When he moves on to the next part of the story,
the next part of the arc, What.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Does losing to the Jets due to a team? Sometimes
it means absolute panic. We just lost to the Jets.
What do we do the Eagles and when now? He
explained the millennials who this is. The Eagles have tried
to put the Jets lost behind them by signing former
All Pro All Pro wide receiver Julio Jones to a
(36:18):
contract for the rest of the season. For Millennials and
gen z Ers, Julio Jones is a great wide receiver
for a long time. Left the Falcons. He wanted to
get paid, he wanted to get more money. He juiced
them for a little bit of cash, and ever since
he left the Falcons, he's not been very good.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Seven thousand yard seasons. He was terrific his rookie year.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
He was forty one yard in short He's got sixty
three career touchdowns and he has made stops in both
Tennessee and Tampa Bay.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
He was terrific for a long time. He was, and
now he's gonna come in down that the Eagles are saying, Hey,
we need something else because we just lost to the Jets,
so we need something else. Look, you know, you saw
the Devonte Smith drop on Sunday that was a huge deal,
and you saw Jalen Hurts have a little bit of
difficulty putting the exclamation point on plays that the Eagles
(37:10):
needed to convert and signing Julio Jones. Look, I like
the move because I know exactly what he's gonna be. Look,
he's gonna be the third wide receiver behind aj Brown
and DeVante Smith. But what Julio Jones is gonna bring
is on those clutch plays, those third and eight plays
at midfield in the final minute half where a first
down ends the game. Julio Jones is gonna be a
(37:31):
big target on those plays. And he's gonna be big
in the red zone because that's the other thing is
that Davonta Smith not a great red zone threat, his
size not there. They need somebody for those big third
downs and in the red zone, and that's gonna be
Julio Jones because at this point, how many snaps do
you really think he can play?
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Right?
Speaker 1 (37:46):
How he's gonna play in a game. But that's it's
gonna be the big third downs and in the red zone,
and he's gonna be a big help for them because
suddenly that will hopefully help Jalen Hurts in his clutch moments.
And that's completely why they signed it. Yes, it was
a reaction of this game, but it's a reaction because
they realize on those plays we a little bit more
offensively because what we have right now isn't quite enough.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
You got Brown, you got Goddard, you got the run game.
Certainly aj Brown spoke would have spoken highly of him
right the teammates there briefly in Tennessee. So perhaps a
little bit of him working some magic to say, hey,
you think we need one more, let's get one more
as you flow through. But yeah, a little bit reactionary.
(38:28):
It's still one of the more curious games that we've
seen through six weeks of the NFL season. You know,
down to your fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth cornerbacks, you
win the turnover battle for nothing. Eagles defense is not
able to get Zach Wilson to to make the mistake.
I mean, good on him. Don't have to be great,
got to be good enough to where its closed and
(38:50):
you have a chance. And that's exactly what happened here.
You had the missed opportunities as you mentioned to Smith,
and certainly the field goal kicker Elliott, who's no normally nails,
he fails, and you have this opportunity to win the game.
So you make a reaction. And for Julio Jones, I mean,
you're not paying them a bunch of money and maybe
(39:10):
there's a little bit left in the tank that you
can coax out. Yeah, look, I get it.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
I like it because it doesn't cost you anything. And
if he does, if he is that guy in third
down to the red zone, he's worth it.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
And it fails, you go into the trademarket and you
go find someone more substantially.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
We lost of the Jets. Go get me a new player.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Now.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Coming up next, a story about the potential number one
pick in the NFL Draft that's gonna blow you away.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
This is Fox Sports Radio.
