nothing bigger than Jason Smith's favorite singer going into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

thing I can say is everybody gets in pro basketball

(01:39):
Hall of Fame. I dare you, it's rock and roll
Hall of Fame. Isn't even the Hall of very Good.
It's like the Hall of whoa you wonder on the radio?
Come on, man, that that's the rock and roll Hall
of Fame. Like basically, if you have a band and
you're able to tour for how whatever, and it doesn't
matter radio sales, anything, you'll get in the rock and
roll Hall of Fame. Everybody. That's not true, Sure they do.

(02:03):
Everybody is in. I think Harry Styles is already in
the rock and roll Hall of Fame. Olivia I think
Olivia Rodrigo is already in the rock and roll Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I mean, Barry White's not in there yet.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Oh come on the Wall is not in there, Billy
Idol and Black Flag aren't in there. Blue Oyster Coal well,
and it was one song, come on, clearly DJ. The
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame fears the reaper when
it comes to Blue Oyster, the Carpenters, cold Play, I'm
looking at it out you really just say cold Play?

(02:36):
Did you really just say Coplay will get in, Copley
should get your throat toalls?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Not in.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
The reason that's not in. Here's the reason they're not in.
Is it every year they need to have some kind
of celebration where they're putting people in that people have
heard of. Okay about out past, you can't put in.
Oh hey, minor Threat is going in. Oh wow, that's awesome, man,
Minor Threat is going in. Yeah, hey the meat Puppets
are going in this year. Hey that's good. No, you

(03:01):
need every year to be able to have they got
a good stable of three or four bands or singers,
and every year they can say, okay, all right, we're
putting these star studied groups in the in the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
How about Ozzy Osbourne? Everybody got in?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Everybody gets No black Sabbats is in right black sabbits
is but Ozzy as.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
A solo artist has been monstrous.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
He's in the rock and roll. He's in. He's just
not in his assie. He's in. He's in his sabbath.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
What about Shaka Khan and Rufus Chacha Khan Chaka Khan
Chacha Khan chacka con Pet Shop Boys Chachkan Chaka.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
You're just reading names off the leg. What did you do?
Not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet?
And I love.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Artists not in right.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I love that. It's actually you gave me the Pet
Shop Boy.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
It's it's a different It's it's not a Wikipedia, but
it is a list that has the number of years
that they've been snubbed.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
What about the West End Girls? You gave me the
you gave me the Pets?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
They were not nominated just yet.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
We're still Pet Shot Boys and Dusty Springfield. That's that.
That's my favorite Pet Shot Boys song. That's my say
that that should get them in the If that song
doesn't get them in the Hall of Fame, Running up
that Hill should not get Kate Push in the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Wait, I got one more for you. Go ahead, The Grand.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Funk Raill row.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
These are all Grand Funk Railroad songs. Are you done
reading your list yet?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Nah?

Speaker 4 (04:22):
I could do this all night, are you because you're
just thinking of random riffs?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
No? No, no. And I'm fine with it because it
because it allows me to not have to talk about
Julie's randall, because you know that that's a really big thing.
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
You know what else that allows?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
What?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
We can play running up that Hill? Since she went
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight, you're
allowed to play at every bump back.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
No no, we're not no, no, we're not no 'or not.
She didn't go, she didn't go. She didn't go. If
you don't go, don't have to play the song. That's
how it works in spirit. You don't go, you don't go,
you don't play the song.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
You know you didn't go to the Ranger parade to
celebrate Max Sures are in Jacob de Rock.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Well because they already voted. They're not going to get
any rings because they didn't do anything. I saw the
vote today. Corey Seeger said it. Yeah, they don't get anything.
They paid them a lot of money, they're not getting
a ring. In fact, the rents in the houses they're
renting in the Greater Arlington area are gonna go way
up because they didn't do anything.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
No, housing's pretty cheap there.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
They kind of come through, doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Sept in a couple of neighborhoods. But yeah, no, it's uh,
it's a big night for Kate Bush and for the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all the
entrance and to uh well to us because we had
a fantastic day in the wonderful world of horse racing
and now we're we're ready to dominate and get ready
for a football Sunday now.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Speaking of horse racing, of course, from the final stretch
to get tickets to horse racing's biggest moment of the year,
The world's best headed to sant and Either for the
Breeders Cup World Championships today tomorrow, November fourth. The countdown
has begun. Get tickets today at Breeders Cup dot com.
Mike and I did a with the Breeders Cup earlier today,
did a podcast A wonderful time looking forward to seeing
how things go tomorrow and no matter what, it's got

(06:04):
to be better than watching Julius Randall play basketball for
the next there's.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
No class about matter what.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
We won a couple of bets before leaving. Taught a
couple of people how to bet. Yeah, that might have
been a bad idea. I could probably get sued for.
That's gonna be video footage of me showing people how
to use the kiosks to.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Know it's not illegal. You stealing wallet from that guy?
That was illegal, Like you could not know.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
When dudes standing there with like thirty tickets in him
in his hand. What did you do?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
You took the ticket and you put it under your
hat and you walked away. I mean, I was a
good looking hat I was, But today is ay? I know,
try to tamp down your excitement at the first day
of the NBA in season basketball tournament. It is the
excitement level of this is just absolutely through the roof.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
I don't even know what to do. I mean, I
can't contain myself.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
No, I mean, this is this is this is like
having the NCAA Tournament, the first day of the nca
tournament the first day the NFL playoffs on at the
same time.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Because it's so exciting, really insane looking courts. The one
in Chicago. I saw it being mocked and bandied about
like it was the Kenny Rodgers Roasters episode of Seinfeld
Bad Chicken.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I mess you up, Jerry. I love the chicken, Jerry, Jerry,
I love the chicken.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm freaking out over there.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
I love the chicken, Jerry. You could tell exactly who
is pushing this, because what happened today was all the
social media barrage from all the teams about hey, the
end season tournament tonight. Here's the pictures of all the courts.
The league is pushing this so much, and everybody else
is like, dude, I don't care. This is it's a regular.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
It's we we haven't even games this.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
If you're gonna do this tournament, do it in the
middle of the season when the doldrums are here and hey,
something to kind of, you know, pick you up a
little bit. But everybody's still excited about the beginning of
the regular season. Now after five games, we're gonna have
the tournament. I'm really, come on, man, I don't I
don't know anybody who's people just have the general level
of NBA excitement. They're not there's no added excitement, like,

(08:05):
oh man, if we win this first game in pool A.
You know, hey, we're on our way, man, and we
can win. I mean, if you're gonna do it, you
gotta do it the right time to have it. After
teams have played four games.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
We were joking about the scheduling of the Germany game yesterday,
right from a couple of angles. One the why does
London keep getting the Jaguars and Germany gets the Dolphins
and the Chiefs seems a little uneven, But the idea
that suddenly that started being promoted and people remembered, Oh yeah,
I was mad about that when the schedules came out.

(08:37):
Now I'm mad again with this in season tournament thing.
Everybody just reiterated the same question they had when it
was announced. Why and now you've taken it next level
because that's what we do here on the Jason Smith
Show with Mikerow.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
We've taken another level. We're at levels. Why now?

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Well, I don't I don't understand why now, right? I
mean I get that they need to push this. You
gotta do something in the regular season, right, You gotta
do something to make it worth something because players are
sitting out and you can threaten them all you want
about not playing and here's a fine. You got to
do something, and I understand that, but you gotta make
it pageantry. You gotta make it worth something. You gotta
make it. You can't say, well, the game's count in

(09:18):
the regular standings except for the championship. It's like, what
do you really care about?

Speaker 4 (09:23):
You made Eventually they're gonna play a couple of these
games in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, I mean, that'll get you excited.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
If you're gonna do it. You have to make it
separate from the regular season. And you can play less
games in the regular season and you're just adding these in, right,
so you still want to play a total of eighty
two games. You can play a seventy five game regular
season and all the teams play a seven game tournament, right,
and have it be completely separate, and you celebrate it,
and you come out and you give them a trophy

(09:49):
at the end, and Adam Silver gets to say, hey,
who will join the the NBA in season champion you know,
New York Knicks or Milwaukee Bucks or San Antonio Spurs
as champions at the end of the season. And you
make it worth something. But to sit here and say
this is an idea that was kind of halfway done. Yeah,
we're gonna do it, but it's gonna count as regular
season games except for the last one. And really, I

(10:10):
don't think the people know. People need to be told
this is what I need to care about, right, I
need this is something new. You got to prove to
me that I should care about this, right. The World
Baseball Classic has tried to do it. People either gonna
accept it or not accept it, right, but at least
they're making you choose. The NBA is Yeah, Yeah, we're
gonna do it. So it's kind of great.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Doesn't everybody love this? No, it's just something that's there.
I don't have any extra excitement for this Knicksbucks game
then I would normally, And I'm excited about this game,
not excited about Julius Randall because, honestly, let me tell
you about him right now, there's a reason why he's
the number one trending topic in sports because he is
a progress stopper. He is an absolute progress stopper for

(10:50):
the Knicks. The guy can't shoot, and his status as
the one A on the team demands that he gets
the green light to take these shots. And that just
kills the Knicks. He's four out of seventeen tonight. You
saw the three that he took the year. So I'm
saying to myself, what the hell is going on here? Man?
We can't have a night where Julius Randall continues to
take bad shots when he can't make any of them.

(11:11):
And that's exactly what's going on. He is a progress stopper,
and now he's at the point where him being that
one A. Like if he was just a guy on
the team, it wouldn't matter, right if he was the
third or fourth or fifth best player. Hey, it doesn't matter.
It's Julius. Stop taking these shots. Man, We're gonna we're
gonna do something else. But the fact that he has
this status as the Knicks one A, and when you
have that status, this means you wind up getting a

(11:34):
complete and total I don't want to say carte blanche,
but you get to do whatever you want to do offensively.
You get to take a lot of shots. You're having
a bad night, it doesn't matter. You get to do that.
And all that does now is that stops the progress
of the Knicks as a team. It stops other guys
who can make shots for making them because Julius Randall
can't get off a double team, he can't get his

(11:55):
own shot. He doesn't have anything in the paint other
than a bully move. And I'm I'm gonna try to
give you some kind of step back. That's not very
accurate because see back to my first point, he can't
shoot anymore. So he is an absolute progress stopper. And
then he's the and as long as this happens, he's
gonna always hold the knicks back.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Then well, but here's the hard part that you're going
through is that r. J. Barrett's out with the knee injury.
You have no idea how long that's gonna be. So
Knie soreness ruled out tonight as part of this all
important tournament, and now.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
He gotta, hey, we don't want to ruin you in
this tournament. Man, we gotta know what.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
That was my lower jade journalism, sarcasm, circling in there
for the good people. But that man's more shots open up, right,
that's fifteen to twenty shots that are now open, and
Julius Randall is doing his best to take all of them.
He's helped by the fact that Jalen Brunson is saying, great,
I'll carry this.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Bruce is great because Jalen brunts it is great. He's
got forty three tonight, he's sixteen out of twenty seven.
I watched a sequence really quick. I watched a sequence
about ten minutes ago where Damian Lillard hoisted up one
of those you know from just inside the logo, you know,
thirty five footers and it doesn't go. And one of
the Bucks players swooped in under the under the basket

(13:14):
and got the rebound and kicked it back out for
a jumper. And I watched all the shoulders slump of
every Knicks player, and no one defended the jumper, and
the jumper doesn't go. And who's the one guy that
ran in from behind the arc to go get that
rebound was Jalen Brunson. That's all you need to know
about the Knicks and all you to know about him.

(13:35):
Everybody else sat back and said, oh, I can't believe
they got that rebound. Everybody slumped, everybody stopped what they
were doing. He had to run in under the basket
and get the ball. That that's what happened. That's Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Yeah, that's overload of Knicks talk. Yeah, you want to
do some Syracuse while you're at it. Just kidding.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
An update right now, Well, it is the biggest game
going on right now in the in the it's not
in the end season NBA tournament, in the end season.
Damian Lillard has just hit a three. He has just
converted a layup, and I believe he's gonna get the
free throw line for an end one and the Bucks
with thirty seven seconds left to go, we're looking at
you sift to a shut up to push this to

(14:14):
a four point lead over the Knicks. So we will
continue to keep you updated on the the opening night
of the NBA in season.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. We're now We're just gonna get really really
subpar Kate Bush songs all night.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Hey, I celebrate the entire catalog.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
We're in the final stretch to get tickets to horse
racing's biggest moment of the year, The world's best headed
to Santa Anita for the Breeders' Cup World Championships. Today
and tomorrow the countdown begins. Get tickets today at Breeders
Cup dot com. Now, let me just say really quick
before you get into this crazy ass story. In coll football, right,
the Bucks beat the Knicks, and the last two possessions

(15:05):
for the Bucks were the Knicks had the lead by
a point and there was less than a minute left
to go, and despite the fact Julius Randall was absolutely terrible,
the Knicks had the lead after a Jalen Brunson bucket.
So things are getting a little dicey for Milwaukee. Giannis
has the ball out behind the arc and he is
just simply holding the ball until Damian Lillard can get

(15:29):
free on a screen, which he does. He dumps in
the ball. Lillard hits a three to give the Bucks
the lead. The Bucks get the ball back, Damian Lillard
finds himself, he gets free for a breakaway layup. He
goes in lay up and gets the foul, and all
of a sudden it is a five point lead for
the Bucks and the game is over and for all

(15:51):
of the for all of the talk, hey this season,
with everything going on, just watching that sequence or those
couple of sequeens at the end of the game. I'm
sitting here saying, are we just really seeing what the
rest of the season, the playoffs are gonna look like
that the Bucks with oh is Jannis and one is
Yanni's gonna take the shots? Is Middleton's gonna take the shots?

(16:12):
All that's out the window now and just when they
need one, Dame is gonna take it, and that's gonna
be it, and we're gonna watch the Bucks just steamroll
all the way to the finals because it's Damian Lillard time.
Now See now, I'm like, oh, now, I kind of
liked it. He was in Portland, they were never gonna
win anything, and now now that was in the Bucks,
I worry about it with the Knicks and then beat
But I mean I wonder just seeing that, I go, man,

(16:34):
I can easily see the season playing out like that,
all the big moments, all the big things happening. Damian
Lillard somehow just gets free, makes the shot, Jannis finds him,
and Yannis is still the big option as well, but
Lillard's gonna be the guy to take and make all
these shots and get free. And he's motivated after being
in Portland for so long. I wonder if we're just
wonder if we're just headed for a very boring playoff

(16:56):
where it's gonna be. Of course, the Bucks won, they
got Lillard in the off sea. What the hell did
you think what's gonna happen?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
I just go back to when you had Yannis talking
about after we broke down Lillard doing this thing to
start the season.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Was well, it's his team, and everybody thought he was
just trying to be nice and whatever.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
It's like, no, no, no, he's He's like, I got another
guy that can carry the load here. He could do
that for a while. It's October, so yeah, I mean
you're gonna see a lot of Damian Loward.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
And guess what.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Once teams overplay and try to collapse on him, Jannis
will have some room to move to the basket, pick
your poison.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
They'll both come get you.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
I'll tell you, man, it really is something watching him.
It was it was everything was cool. There was no bit.
I mean you could tell a little bit of panic
with the Bucks. And last year, what would it have been, right,
Giannis would have the ball on the arc and they
would have rolled a couple of defenders out there, and
maybe Janness gets to the hoop, maybe he doesn't. Maybe
the Bucks get a hoop at that point, maybe they don't.
But now it's just yeah, I'm gonna I'm just gonna

(17:59):
hold the ball and until you get free, and then
Lillard gets a shot. I mean that that, I mean
that could be the big difference. Really. Oh of course
they were gonna. We were all stupid picking somebody else.
They got baby Lillard this year.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
We're all yes.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Sometimes just sometimes it doesn't pay to outthink the room
giants and things of that nature. Sometimes you just go
with chalk, knowing that unless everything's a disaster, teams with
the right culture and composition will be there in the end.
And the Bucks are showing everybody. Look, Giannis was like
Santa Claus. Remember he rolled out that giant dolly with

(18:33):
all sorts of shoes, and then he looked at Dame
he goes, I need a pair of yours too, and
he stared him down. I mean, there's just a lot
of positivity. I mean, he's like Santa Claus bringing two
hundred dollars shoes to you.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Who's the big winner?

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Exit out about a Fresca exit swollen down the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carbon Just remember
November three, we talked about, hey, maybe maybe this is it.
Maybe this is just how the seasons Lario bro your trophy, Like,
that's not what's gonna end.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
I mean really that, especially as they vanquish your beloved Nicks.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Yeah, yeah, it's well, look, there's gonna.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Be a lot of two forty one. Julius Randall makes
free throw one of two. Guess what didn't happen at
two forty one?

Speaker 2 (19:13):
The other time.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Julius Random made free throw two out of two. Yeah,
you knowe his free throw.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Two of doom, saying the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Yeah. At this point, it's like Candy Man, something bad's
gonna happen to us.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Uh. So as we go on tonight, look, we'll have
more from the NBA Day one night one of the.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
In season turnament.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Oh, let's go bracketology, baby, Come on now, big.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Stuff in college football. We have some big games to preview.
But ahead of that, a day that even for the
Michigan sign stealing scandal, this has gotten a little crazy.
So what have we gotten in the last twenty four
hours out of the Michigan sign stealing scandal Perdue, Michigan's opponent.

(19:58):
Very nervous about Michigan. What they know, what they don't know.
We know they've been to our games, right. We had
that story from Purdue yesterday. Big Ten coaches really want
the Big Ten to take some kind of action against Michigan.
They're really upset that something hasn't happened yet. Michigan finally
fired Connor Stallions today, the guy at the forefront of

(20:21):
this entire cheating scandal, the guy on the sideline getting
all the video. Michigan finally fires in. And then if
that's not enough, this is all in a twenty four
hour span. If that's not enough, then there's that story
about Ryan Day that is just mind blowing. There's an
investigation apparently going on that Ryan Day, the head coach

(20:45):
of Ohio State, is leaking the information about the signs
dealing scandal because he got it from private investigators. Meanwhile,
Michigan found this out because they had private investigators investigating
Ryan Day.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
That's it. You had family members. You got absolute chaos, anarchy,
which means the Big Ten commissioner is pulling up his
hoodie and he's walking down the street hoping you don't
recognize him.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
No, you got a private investigator. I got a private investigator. Yeah,
but you're a private investigator. Is not as good as
my private investigator. No, my private investigator kicked.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Your private private investigator looks like Matt Dillon.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
And there's something and I'm married.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
I got Magnum because he's Magnum PI and Pi is
private investigator. You watch what he does. Oh, this is gonna.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
He later went on to run a Las Vegas casino
and then he became the commissioner of police.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
He can do it all. Meanwhile, he stopped buying, was
hanging out with Courtney Cox.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
He's the guy with the big mustache. Don't talk to him.
He's gonna. He's also got the tigers hat on and
the and the print shirt that looks like it's a
Hawaiian shirt, Friday shirt. Don't talk to that guy. He's
a private investigator.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
He played baseball.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
He lost his job to Frank Thomas and mister batesball.
Uh now now let me just let me career time.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
To let's celebrated on Fox Sportsue.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
I'm glad that you got friends in when he was
dating Monica, because you know that was a really believable story.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Deal, you have to explain the millennials who Monica is.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Oh, that's true, I got well, come on, I gotta
Tom Selicates. Come on, man, you Tom selik is he
was a dentist, right he was was a Richard, Right,
that was Dave Richard. He's a family dentist. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Look for everybody who seems to think and I can't
believe that I'm alone on this island, but I like
being on this silence, like being on Rivas Island. If
you really think this is going to be much ado
about nothing, you're insane and there's nothing I can do
for you. You see how this story has mushroomed out
of control. Coaches want answers. The evidence apparently is there.

(22:50):
Schools are upset. There needs to be something done. You're
not just going to say, well, we're gonna wait and
we're gonna make a decision in Michigan's gonna have forty
five days. That's not going to be enough. Because this
story has gotten out of control. I'll tell you how
it's gonna end once again. It's gonna end with Michigan
being ineligible to win the Big Ten. Whenever that decision

(23:13):
comes in, it's going to come in sometime in the
next few weeks. And if you really think the College
Football Playoff Committee is gonna say, it's not our job
to adjudicate who's it's our job to just adjudicate who
can wind up we can pick for the playoff, that
is not going to happen. The College Football Playoff Committee
is not going to start a civil war in college

(23:34):
football by picking a team that their conference said, because
of what they've done, they can't go and win the
and win the turn and win the conference. Now, there's
no way the CFP is gonna say, yeah, we don't care,
We're still picking them. We're still allowing them to play
for the national championship. That's not gonna happen. Man, Can
you imagine what the rest of college football is gonna

(23:55):
be like? You imagine what Washington's reaction is gonna be, Hey,
do we're undefeated? We got left, no doubt what the
hell man Michigan gets in. They had a sign stealing
scandal that you can trace all the way back to
when they became elite in twenty twenty one. They were
a three to four lost team. They were a jag
Big Ten team at that point. But then they started
cheating and they started winning games. And I say this
living in a Michigan house that I've lived in for

(24:17):
the past twenty five years. Are you kidding me? Do
you really think that the CFP is gonna say yep,
we don't care. They're not gonna start a war. They're
gonna say they're ineligible, We're not going to pick them.
We're going to move on. And that's how this is
going to end. If you think it's gonna end any
other way, I don't know what to do for you.
I really don't know. Because you want to talk about
things that would split college football at the seams. I

(24:39):
get that it changes every day. And with NIL and
conference realignment, you ban Michigan from winning the Big Ten
and you allow them to play in the playoff. You know,
you know what the fall, there's gonna be teams saying
we're leaving, we're forming our own We're done now, all
the big teams. We're getting together. We are forming our own,
our own league, our own everything. We're not gonna do this.

(24:59):
We're not gonna do this. We're not Wait till you
see what happens if that happens, Hence, that's not going
to happen.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Super Aliga. I like it.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Michigan's last dream is gonna be Ohio State, the you know,
two days after Thanksgiving, and that's gonna be the end
of their season. That's how it's going to end. Look
at you telling you.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Well, I'm gonna go back and I'm gonna quote the
great Arthur Branch. I'm gonna change it up a little
bit because he used some terminology that may not work here.
You may remember him as the DA Fred Thompson on
Law and Order. Quote, Well, lady, justice may be blind,
but nobody ever said the old lady was fair. And

(25:37):
always remember the wheels of justice don't necessarily move swiftly.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I keep reading all this stuff.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
If they have evidence, Yeah, you have evidence in all
sorts of cases of everything across the globe. You, however
high the level you want to take it to down
to the you know, crimes and misdemeanors, and doesn't mean
you're getting in front of whoever the judge, jury executioner
is with.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Any level of speed. Yeah, you're entitled to a quote
speedy trial, but.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
The run up to it and the gathering of information,
where it goes on the docket, could take a while,
could take a minute. And this commissioner wants everything, all
the ducks in a row, plus that forty five day
thing that you mentioned, that pesky forty five day thing. Now,
I think it's a lot of chaos, and I think
it resolves itself quietly.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
When Harbaugh leaves for the NFL after the season.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
In the interim, it's a lot of Ah, sorry, you
don't like Jim Harbaugh.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Yeah, but you can't sweep it under the rug. There's
no but it's not sweeping it under the rug. It's hard.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
You're just running out the clock. At this point, he's gonna.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
They're they're not gonna let them that college. Hey, Rob
Manford swept it under the rug? Can you imagine baseball? Hey,
you want you want you want to switch places with
Rob Manford? You want to have his reputation? Of course
you don't.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
I don't care. Why what So some dope is gonna
ask me what kind of.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Underwear I wear when I get out of a car
on Fifth Avenue. Bring it.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
I'll take his paycheck and take the heat. I wouldn't
be as dumb, And you know, called stuff, hunk some
metal or let cheaters get away with what they were
doing there.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
But you know that's just me.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
You'll see, I'm telling them. You'll see.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
Yeah, I'll rue the day I get it. And I
appreciate your level of your intensity here. The fact that
you owed it to being in a Michigan household, you know,
left me a little concerned. Since you know Syracuse is
playing and you're usually ensconced in some level of orange.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
What happens? Speaking of being insconsin orange, Syracuse and Boston College,
we'll get that result right now because special delivery Steve
di Seger.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

iHeartRadio app. So I'm watching Syracuse give a game away
to Boston College. Not the first, not the last.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
You know when you get time of possession is almost
three to one.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Yeah, it's this game is I mean, I don't know
what was worthing and more frustrating watching the Knicks or
watching this, but hey, I get to watch both of
them on Friday night. Hooray. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
Well, but they're both gonna be over soon and you
can move back into horror movies, reality TV.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Yeah, yeah, I can do all those, or back when.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Maybe they won.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
I'll go back and watch an old game. I remember
this game when they won this. But some big games
in college football tomorrow, and we're gonna take a look
at a couple of them right now, and there's gonna
be that's gonna be more fun than Washington and USC
all right. And I'll tell you this. For all the
talk that well maybe somebody else can win the Heisman, No,

(29:10):
Michael Pennix Junior wins the Heisman tomorrow. He should go
for five hundred yards easily, easily in this game. Washington's
been waiting for this game. It's gonna be highly entertaining.
It'll be close. USC will put points on the board.
But USC's defense has been bad versus average teams and
below average teams. How are they gonna stop Michael Pennix.

(29:31):
It's not They're gonna be bad again and again. I'll
give him over five hundred yards passing in this game
and he will basically win the Heisman Trophy tomorrow. They
got a gauntlet that's starting right now, and they got
some tough games coming up, and they may not get
out of it undefeated, but they'll win this one. Here.
USC is just trying to get to the end of
the season at this point. Every day is bad pr

(29:53):
and Lincoln Riley and what's gonna happen and what's gonna
happen next? And why are we not winning? All of
these things are going on for you. Yes, it will
be close, Kayleb. Willims will keep it close. He will
step up, you know, realizing, Hey, here's me Heisman Trophy
winner against maybe this year's Heisman Trophy winner. But I'm
telling you give me five hundred yards and five touchdowns
for Michael Tennix Junior in this one.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
Yeah, they've been interesting to watch the last couple of weeks. Obviously,
that narrow escape against Arizona State. That was the thriller
on FS one that as you're watching it, you're scratching
your eyes, going, what universe have I entered? That were
this late and it's this tight and even against you
the win over Oregon, right, that was a great heavyweight battle,

(30:35):
but then they gave up thirty three points to Stanford
and you raise your eyebrow going.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Wait, what the hell?

Speaker 1 (30:41):
You know?

Speaker 4 (30:41):
Look ahead, whatever, it is just an odd matchup here
and there on the field, whatever the case may be,
it is an opportunity here to put up some massive
numbers and make your huge statement against the USC squad
that the defense has struggled against every buddy the offense,

(31:01):
Lincoln Riley, no blame on his side. Uh, they don't
like to run the football necessarily at times. Caleb will
take care of it himself. So it's it's that curiosity
of you know, the approach and can they get it's really,
can they get one defensive stand because you know you
gotta get the first one to.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Build on it.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
You're asking for too much. No, you're you're right away,
you're asking for too much. Well, you know what I
asked for big things, you are, but you but you're
asking for too much. Man. I'm telling you to ask
for something. You got to ask. You got to ask
for an incomplete pass on first down. Start there, and
then you care wry about getting a second down and nine.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Okay, Hey, Washington only a three point favorite in this
one though.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Yeah, well, but the over runner is seventy eight.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Are you surprised he has the ball last win?

Speaker 1 (31:48):
What's what's he'll runner of this game? Seventy eight? That's
forty five, or that's that's thirty eight, thirty seven? Right,
we have that right, it's thirty eight. No, it's thirty nine,
thirty eight. Yeah, that's seventy seven, yeah, yea, yeah, yeah yeah.
Third that that's what you're saying is the over runder
for this game. And I'm gonna say they blow past it.
I'm gonna say fifty two to thirty five, Washington at fifty.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Two thirty breaking the fifty barrier. I'm telling them they
could do more.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
I mean, we've seen a couple of games with Washington
where it's like throttle down. But the best thing that
could happen here is that you know, USC's offense, uh
lives up to their advanced press clippings. And Lincoln Riley
can just keep pointing the finger down the hall.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Now my fault.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Sad guy we hired over there on the defense. He
doesn't know what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Now. One of the other big games tomorrow, early game tomorrow,
we get Notre Dame Clemson.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Right, really, you're to go Northwestern?

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah, Iowa north. When I said big games, it's up
to thirty one. Then the over runners thirty one in
that game.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Wow, it was twenty nine.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Okay, okay, very good, all right.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Notre Dame is having a pretty good season. Clemson is not.
It is a season that Clemson has not had in
quite a long time. They're four and four. They lose
at home in this game. They'll fall to four and five,
and they will because this is just not their year.
They're not as good as they were. Notre Dame is
pretty good. Their schedule has really been a little bit

(33:12):
too much for them. But they'll win this game, and
they should win this game big And I'll give you
even a bigger bull prediction. The end of this year,
Dabo Sweeney leaves Clemson and takes a year off, and
maybe he goes and does TV for a little bit,
but he will. He doesn't want to get he doesn't
want to keep going and tarnish his image. He's looking
for his second act as a coach. But you've heard

(33:33):
him this week. The guy was screaming at a caller
on sports talk radio, and he was saying, We're always
gonna fight. Now, I'm always gonna fight whether I'm here
or someplace else. And a couple of times he said
whether I'm here or someplace else, or I'm here or
I'm not. He's going to find the exit door before
things get too bad. He looked he had a great
run with a couple of great quarterbacks, won the national
championship a couple of times. Now it happens, you can't

(33:55):
recruit like that every year. But because of the standard
that was set, how much longer is he gonna have
for people go, we need somebody else new? And he
knows it. He's gonna walk away after this year and
say I'm gonna take a year off and then he's
gonna wait and then get another big job at another
big school someplace else for a second act. That's how
this season ends for Dabosweeney.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Well, it's the long tail to the well.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
If nil and all this happens, I'll walk away, all right,
That all happened level the playing field to some degree.
You don't have the same level of recruits coming in,
and right now you stink. You look at their schedule.
Some of those wins are against I mean, I can't
even call him directional schools, And no, I was not
including Syracuse in their wins in that regard. But yeah,

(34:40):
he's done a lot of crying and he just wants
everybody to kiss his ass. The fact that someone's actually
critical of the decisions they made or failures in recruiting.
He's not enough of a man to just recognize it
and roll with it.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
So there you go, a couple of big predictions come
in your way for college football. We get into a
big story out of baseball coming up now. X Fox
