Speaker 2 (00:24):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. The greetings, Welcome inside,
Happy Thursday, The Jason Smith Show, Jason Smith Show with
my bass friend Mike Harmon. Frostburg's eyes still bleeding profusely
from watching the Jets Monday night up close. Didn't have

(00:46):
time for stuff to even scab with Thursday night football,
fresh out of te.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
What is that the nun right where the eyes are
blacked out and the blood comes down.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Scab go, I'll tell you man, Chargers, Chargers, Chargers, Jets
to Panthers, bears my eyes. I mean, look, in the end,
we celebrate all two hundred and seventy two. Well, some
of them have to be ranked towards the bottom. I mean,
if you don't like it, don't watch. To quote to
quote the infamous McMain, my eyes the goggles do nothing.

(01:20):
We're live from the Tirec dot Com studios Direct dot Com.
I'll help you get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping.
Free Road has protection in over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirec dot Com the way tire buying should be. You
know when your options in January dwindled to a couple
of playoff games, NBA games you don't give a damn about,
and college basketball still being two months away from when

(01:43):
anybody cares come and complain to me then about how
bad this football game? You think I'm gonna watch your
want to watch your replay of this game. I'm not
saying that. I'm just saying, celebrate it while we haven't, yah,
because it will go away America. But then it comes back.
It goes away, it comes ahead. That's how it works.
All my life's a circle. Well, it's how it works.
Sunrise and sundown.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Don't be upset because your bears stink and they become
the official team of Thursday Night, right, don't forget that.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Well, but I mean you want to be the official
something I'm still looking for. The official sandwich? Is this
the official coffee? The official soft drink, the official hard
alcohol and we really need that tonight, the hard alcohol,
you know what, official brand of the show. They're still
looking for all of that.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
This is like the fifth time this year the Bears
have played on a Thursday Night. Like the Jaguars are
the official team of London, the Bears are the official
team of Thursday Night.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
That's all right.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
When I like to watch bad football, I turn on
Amazon on Thursday night and watch the Bears.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, I mean next week it's the Bears Angles and
Raven Bear scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
What next next Thursday is? I don't know. Eva Flus
is still gonna be coaching and gidding us great quips.
Are they gonna flex the Ravens out the best team
in the AFC so we can get the Bears again? Yeah?
But what's the best laugh we had? We were interviewing
Eblues coming back to the field for the second half.
What was the graphic? Oh yeah, I don't think you've
laughed that hard now, Jewet, I mean Amazon really just

(03:07):
trolling Matt Eberflus. At this point, before the second half begins,
Eberflus does his interview before the Bars on the field
and if font said the funt the fun. We're talking
about the fun and the fund, says Matt Eberflus Bears
head coach and under it one and fourteen record when
the other team scores first. There you go, Matt Eberflu's
gona who scored first tonight? Hey, the Panthers on a

(03:29):
punt return. Yeah, and there was a flag out of
the field. This game never even acknowledged.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
This game is really renishent of Monday Night. Punt return
for a touchdown and that's kind of it for a
long time. It's the Panthers. The one and seven Panthers
lead the two and seven Bears ten to nine early
in the third quarter. There has been one counted one
touchdown tonight on the aforementioned punt return. Everything else is

(03:57):
a field goal. There's been sacks, there have been passes.
There has been not a lot of offense. This is
Thursday Night to the extreme. Well, Deonta Foreman was running
the ball well and then he got hurt, so he
was on the sideline. She's back in the game now though,
he's so now you have that for you. It's so bad,
you know, the Tyson bagent worlds. Some ducks being thrown

(04:21):
in the first half and Bryce Young well TH's they're
they're wondering why they didn't take CJ.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Stroud with each drop back as it goes through. Look,
for as bad as the Bears are the one thing
they've been able to do is is shut down opposing
running games throughout the year. The yards before contact is
really one of those statue hang your hat on. I
bet you still get beat in the secondary and you lose,
so it doesn't really matter. But look, you gotta find

(04:47):
some positivity, finds your wins where you are because I mean,
look Al Michaels tonight, he really got his high point
of this season because they had Jason Kelsey come and
say hi to him. He was last Finn. He was
loving life. Yeah, I mean, I can't wait to see
who they drag out as was asking you they see
and he also ran celebrities running around the stands because

(05:09):
they'll be dragging their asses up to the booth.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Here here, I need a gift for Al in America.
Do you honestly think I'm I'm being honest with you now?
Do you honestly think the NFL said okay, great, Amazon
wants Thursday night football? They still don't know well, enough
to know what a good game is.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
So we're just do.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
If we're hired us again, we're gonna give him a
bunch of crap games, and maybe it takes them a
couple of years and then we'll start giving them good
games when they stand up and go, hey, you know,
not everybody is.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I mean, these games are not good. Well, you know
how you get these teams are bad. The new kids
on the block syndromes are bad teams of You know,
you'll take what's left over from Fox and everybody else.
You start hanging tough. Is that what you will be
loving you for? But what you do, you've got the
right way, a bigger pile of cash. They had a
big pile of cab They needed a bigger one. Every

(05:57):
day they gave him Thursday night football. The pile of
cash wasn't big enough, they wouldn't have taken it. Hey, guys,
next week Bengals at Ravens.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, no, I know, we've got the Bengals in a
route right, No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
It's it's actually gonna be the Bears next Thursday. Actually
flexing it out, it's the Seahawks in a route.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Get rid of it's gonna be the it's gonna be
the Bears, and it's just gonna be a practice and
that's what we're gonna get. Mark Away Jets guy.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Mike, you're acting like he's not gonna take the Bengals
in a route out the Ravens. Oh no, it's it's odd, dude.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Dude, you're acting like we didn't mention that like four
minutes ago in the show that that's the game next week.
We just did that. Your Mike wasn't even a just
we just did We just did that. We did that.
I get playing the whole thing. We did the whole
thing right here. Uh, you get the gift, right, it's
an you get this. Hey, next week you get AFC

(06:45):
North Battle and maybe both Jamar Chas and d Higgins
will play in that game. That ain't happening this week.
You'll talk about that too.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Why I'm not Eberflus, head coach the Chicago Bears and
the official team of Thursday Night Football. If you want
to come see football on Thursday. Sometimes it's great, sometimes
it's not.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
But you know what, like I learned in kindergarten, you
get what you get and you don't get upset. Oh
there is there is that. I mean, Cairo Santos did
kick a fifty four yard field goal that was pretty
much not yeah yeah yeah, I mean he barely made
the forty nine yarder, but there was a penalty on
the play. Yeah, and instead of punting or going for it,
they said, you know what, super tow get after it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Do you think the NFL has people standing around Jeff
Bezos and they're telling him how great certain plays are. Oh,
fifty four year Jeff, did you see that fifty four
yard field goal? You never see something like that, man,
that's amazing. He's like, oh, we got a fifty four
yard field goal in our game. And he's looking at
metrics and he's on the internet and he's seeing, you
know where the game spikes were a fifty four yard
field goal. And then the NFL has people that just

(07:42):
to convince him and say things that it's a big deal. Oh, hey, man,
Mike Singletary's on the sideline. Oh he was so huge,
What a great star.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Oh, people are gonna tune in to watch cutaways of
Mike single Do you see that, boy that this is
a great this is a great product.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Jeff, I'm telling you, man, no, don't don't email anybody.
Everything is fine. This is a great product you're getting.
Now we've seen the inset, uh and the the overlay
right where you got a border talking about products and whatever.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
When Carissa and the team are talking. I really thought
this was going to be the week that all of
a sudden there was a queasan art or something getting
held up by Al Michaels.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Hey, guys, you know what the game is next week?
What Bengals at Ravens?

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Really? Yeah, we're finally getting a good one? Is that
the game next week? I didn't know that. I thought
it was. I though it was a replay of Seahawks Ravens.
Thought that's what that game? Again? We're not going to
take the points, are you? Nope?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
No, how many many points doesn't matter. I don't need Okay,
now you gotta tell me, Frostburg, why are you so
wrapped up on one game that we picked?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Because we set a standard here pick doesn't Yes, and
my and my record and upset specials this year is
usually very good, and this year I think I'm eleven
and seven record in your head and the actual record
is very differ. The eleven is set? What what what happened?
What happened? Why are you so many set a standard
here that Stan? Why are you so mad?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Why?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Why are you so mad that I picked the game
and I picked it wrong? Because you're better than that.
Games get wrong, though, not that one the Bears. I mean,
come on, man, man, I mean I got to know
the way you got to do that. I don't know
that to pick Gino Smith again, but I mean, come on,
I mean, you know this is They're a red zone
all right. It was a good idea, it was. It
was one game and I didn't get it right. I

(09:23):
mean it was very close and just get it wrong.
I said, well, look, if you're gonna fail, fail spectacular.
Look I was getting I was getting the Seahawks. I
was getting thirty three and I almost won. You really tease,
I was really close. I really tease. That line up
they get the Seahawks in thirty three. No, I just
missed it. You know what you need to do, though,
You need to write a personal letter on your stationary

(09:45):
to DK Metcalf and say, hell happened tonight?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Shoe brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling

one plays Bundle and Save at Progressive dot Com. So, yes,
it's Thursday night, and yes it's football, even though teams
are three and fourteen between them.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
It's the man.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
I can't lose. I can't lose, no, because it doesn't
matter because you have their draft picks. So really there's
no way for you to lose, and there's no way
for the for the Panthers to win.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
So it really that's pretty good. It's a pretty distress
free night for you. I mean, why do you think
Ebert Flues was smiling like a hat on the sideline? Now?
Is Justin Field's playing? Or is he doubtful? Can he
go up into the boozy out? Is he outer? Is
he doubtful? What is he? Is he outer doubtful? I
think he's not playing. I think they finally had to
actually submit a form to say he was out. So
but did they though? I mean, you could wait because

(10:42):
he said he was doubtful but then said he wasn't
and then said they might have to wait. I don't,
I don't know he could. Can he be out and doubtful?
What would be really cool is if suddenly he came
walking out to tunnel like he was a WWE superstar
and they started playing some entrance.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Music and they started interviewing saying, hey, Justin, how come you're
not as good as CJ.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Stroud? How did you keep the job from him? I
mean even when he was younger? I mean, wow, how
did you choose you? Go ahead, you can't expand on that,
expanding that Justin I got drafted by the Bears. How
about that?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Right?

Speaker 1 (11:12):
That's an equalizer right there. But you know CJ. Stroud's
team wasn't very good either, So there's that.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeah, But the coaches actually want him to play football
and play it well.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
So here's where we sit right now. We could be
on the cusp of another touchdown, but maybe not second
in goal for the Bears at the six yard line.
They trail this game ten to nine, and it's hard.
I want to say that something's at stake. Maybe al
Michael sanity is at stake.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
I don't know. Oh, the spreads still three and a half.
Like I said, though, I mean when Jason Kelsey was
up there, I mean, they treated it like it was
a preseason game. What would man that I feel was
greatly disrespect these to all the people that were getting
on board here for this game.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
What will be better right now watching this game? Or
Jason Kelcey answering questions about Taylor Swift as brother anything
else he's got would be better.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
I'm about done with him too. Really, Oh yeah, okay,
all right. I used to be the biggest proponent of Hey,
the offensive lineman getting his run. I'm just his fifteen
minutes is really extended at this point. The fact that
a bunch of dopes are gonna buy a Christmas album.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Stutful.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Oh boy, I'll tell you. But hey, we do have
some big news. Yeah, let's go studio. We have big
news right now. Yeah, Tysher, we have it. We have
our big news sounder. Yeah, big news, big news, frantically
working on this around the clock right now. But we
have a touchdown in the Bears game. The Bears have

(12:44):
a touchdown, They have the lead. Dante Forman goes in
from six yards outs. Everybody who played Dante who in
Fantasy Tonight? Congratulations, Hey do you have to Moorman's up
to sixty two yards in the score? You like, they
just did something that just didn't do on Monday. That
is absolutely right, and we're inching ever closer to that
over under number of thirty eight and a half. So

(13:04):
I gotta sell, Sell, Sell, let's go. It's Thursday Night football,
the celebration. The extra point is up and good make
it sixteen to ten. Bears lead the Carolina Panthers six
and a half to go in the third quarter minus
three and a half.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
We'll have more on this game, whether you like it
or not, because it is football on a Thursday night.
But coming up next, boy, you want a great, big,
bold prediction that could come true this year when you
are talking about the midway point. The MVP of the NFL.
We gave you Jared Goff a couple weeks ago. Where
do we give you? Coming up next? That's next, right here,
Jason and Mike. This is Fox Sports Radio.

(14:52):
third quarter, the Bears have the lead. We have a
touchdown in the game that wasn't scored by special team.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Right Dante formed in the end zone. A few moments
ago and the Bears lead it sixteen to ten. Congratulations.
Your bear is Mike Carmen. Your Bears, well, I mean
the Bears were the obvious pick minus three and a
half as you get into Thursday, really the obvious. I mean,
come on, man, we did the obvious pick. If it's obvious,
meaning there were two choices and it's obvious you had

(15:21):
to pick one of them. Starting okay, all right, in
the air, the air air and the obvious pick. That
was obvious to me. I mean, but here's the thing, right,
the Bears could be playing themselves and I would say,
I don't know, I don't know if they're the pick,
I don't know, I don't know. Bears might find a way.
The weapon that is Hecker, right, Johnny Hecker doing Johnny

(15:42):
Hecker things, and that punt return. Bears have double the
first downs, they've got double the yardage, just go on
down the line.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
It was like me and McDonald's, I want to double,
I want the monster mac and I want to double everything.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Eight minutes more of time and possession, all of these things.
That's great. But the punt reach, yeah, the great exact
absolutely right, and right now you know it's a kicking
context and Santos in the lead three to one. Uh
So we'll have more on this coming up in a bit.
We had some fun a few minutes ago with Justin Fields,

(16:16):
who is not playing and is out. He's officially out,
not doubtful, he's out and officially had to make a decision.
He is. I think he's questionable.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Is he he'sy okay? If he's getting dressed, he make
him out. Frostburg, keep an eye on that if he
comes out. If he gets dressed, we might talk to
hebra Flus and we'll figure it out.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
So like when the Rocks showed up in the game
plan or what look like, we're not Joe, but when
the ice box showed up in Little Giants, the icebox
is right, Yeah, there you go. Now. A couple of
weeks ago, we talked about how the door was opened
for Jared Goff to win MVP in the NFL, And
since we talked about that, Jared Goff is still in

(16:51):
the thick of things. The Lions have to continue to
win and cutting through the clutter because quarterbacks the ones
that are at the top of the NFL. Because to
be m v P, your team has to be good,
and you have to be the top of the league.
The guys are at the top weren't great. The one
guy who seemingly was above everybody for a while was
to a tongueo vi Looa teems to have lost a little bit.

(17:13):
Patrick to the top. Yeah, that's happening. But let me
tell you who the door should be wide open for
for the MVP. Okay, because it is John. How did
you know John Stay?

Speaker 1 (17:25):
He was on the look you know, I want you
to I want you to buy his book and read
a tight shirt because of book.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, just he wrote a book about his life. There's
a whole big thing a week ago that he was
dating another actress in the eighties and he went home
to surprise her and she was in bed with Tony Danzel. No, yeah, dude,
you didn't see That story was everywhere if you have
very We went to Yahoo. That story was like, tell
me I'm the boss, and he kept saying, We've got
it made.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
No.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Uh. He was dating dating an actress named Terry Copley
who was on a show called We Got It Made,
and they were dating for a while. He thought like
she was the one one and he was, you know,
he's acting because you know, he's out doing you know
whatever he was doing, right, and he comes back because
he was kind of weird because for the last wherever
he was working, he would talk on the phone. They
used to talk all the time and everything was great,

(18:12):
and then there can for their phone calls for a
week or so were short, and she you know, kind
of rushed them all this, according to John Stamoska. And
he went got home a day or two early from
wherever he was shooting, and he went to her apartment
and where she lived, and there was a strange car
in front, and he went around the back and went
in through the patio, which is how they would normally

(18:33):
enter the house, and she was in bed with a dude. No,
they were just sleeping at that point. Didn't know who
it was, and then found out after that it was
Tony Danza. Stop. Yeah, I mean it's not not a
full you know, boogie night, said Bill Macy, but kind
of close. She went Danza over Stamos In the eighties,
Tony Danza was kind of it mate.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, yeah, sure, he was the boss right now. John
stamos didn't really well, he was blackie for a while.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
In general, hast but then he didn't join the Beach Boys,
and and and then uh, his TV show was more nineties.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So like I think if it was in the nineties,
it would have been the opposite, Like Tony Danza would
have come home and she would have.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Been with uh John Stables. Now, she also contends, I
mean basically stealing from friends. They were already either broken
up or on a break. I said they were broken up.
Who is the boss really though?

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Didn't stay Moos look good though then too? Yeah, so
that she only wanted status, not looks.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
I don't know. Tony Dance, I guess was a good
looking dude in the eighties, Like she just wanted to
get after it. I don't know, man, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
See that brings up the conversation. Now have you seen
the new Megan Fox now short red hair. She looks
better than old Meghan Fox?

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Wait, yeah she does.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Well, what does this have to do with what the
hell are you talking about? Young Stamos was probably better
than older Stamos. Yeah, but this is you're talking about
older Meghan Fox.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Like six months ago Meghan Fox compared to now Meghan
have Mercy Transformers was a lot longer than six months ago. Okay,
you're going all then, yes, okay, all right, that is
a little bit Jennifer's body. I like Jennifer's body. I
like it. I like this shot. Just set us back
to the eighties. This dead remember the ladies. But we

(20:20):
had a big NFL m v P discussion. All of
the sudden we got on, he said, and that was it.
Here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Normally, when someone comes out with a book, you hear
all the best stuff. You don't have to buy it.
That was Britney Spears. Yeah, but that was the only
story that really came out of his book. So that's
got to be the most fiery stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
I mean, there's a lot of stuff, I mean in
terms of the EBB and flow of Hollywood and his
mental health and all, which is which is interesting. Yeah,
But if you're looking for, like, hey, what members of
the TV show Taxi was my girlfriend in bed with?
You know that that's what you're getting. Did what about
Mary lou Hender? Where does she fit in? They actually
dated to Tony Danza, And I'm pretty sure Tony Danza

(20:59):
Mary low Header day for a whip, Pretty sure about that. Now,
when we get to I'll tell you what who The
door is open to win MVP. He's getting a lot
of run in the last twenty four hours, but the
door is open for CJ. Stroud to win. Who WHA? Right,
just think about think about it for a second. Quarterbacks
are going to have the inherent advantage over everybody else.

(21:23):
What quarterbacks out there are outperforming him? Right now? He's
in the he's in the leaders with touchdowns. He got fourteen.
He's thrown one pick. Okay, everybody else has thrown at
least five or six. The guy doesn't turn the ball over.
He was first interception two weeks ago. It was a
thing like, whoa, There is not a lot of talent
on this Texans team. Okay, you look at all the
other guys. Mahomes has talent, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, all

(21:46):
his talent all around him, I got who does Yeah,
but he only really has Tank Dell. The other guys
are all jazzed. He was pretty good. Yeah, he's okay,
he's okay. Nico Collins is okay. But Tangsdale's the only
guy that, by hey, who do I think is still
going to be can be a st are in the
league in five years? Tank Delt right. I mean this guy,
he's at times he's uncoverable. Nathaniel Tank do but yeah,

(22:06):
but Tank is well no, no, but if you don't get
for trading cards like say you went down that road, huh,
it's his Tank doesn't appear necessarily on every one of
those listings. No, okay, so you might be able to
find a deal. But he's as Nathaniel Daniel because don't
know who the hell he is.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Ah you no, no, no, no, here, that's not Tank Dallas,
this other dude, it's Nathaniel del here.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Give me that. Yeah, I'll take that from you. Won't
take that. That's okay. But just think about where he's
at with no talent, right, they can't run the football
at all. All Right, this is a team that cannot
run the football.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Disaster every week Damian Pierce's fifteen carries for thirty seven yards.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
They can't run the football at all. Oh, you get
to run some clock. And he's got a true and
he's got a bunch of jags. But and the thing
that would cut him through is if can he lead
Houston to the playoffs and you know what, in the AFC,
Houston is good enough to make a run. They play
in a really bad division right now, they're second behind

(23:01):
the Jaguars. Tennessee is basically given up. You know, they
look they try it out a rookie quarterback. Indianapolis is
trying to make go with their backup quarterback. Houston's four
and four. They're in the thick of the playoff hunt.
If CJ. Stroud can get the Texans to the playoffs,
that might be something that would put him over the
top over a guy like Mahomes, especially if the stats

(23:21):
are kind of similar, right like if Mahomes, if you're
talking about Mahomes or Tua, who are gonna throw fifteen
more touchdowns in the next closest guy? All right, I
get that, But you see he's he's on par with everybody.
What are you talking about touchdowns? You're talking about efficiency,
you're talking about quarterback rating. His turnovers are below everybody.
I mean, just for a second, forget about CJ. Stroud
being the best player in the draft. If you take

(23:43):
him away from Houston, what's their record? Have they won
a game? Probably even win again, probably oh to eight.
If you take him away, that's how valuable he is.
The door is open for him. To win, and mainly
is of what he does, but you also have to
look and say, what are the other guys doing around?
Who is stepped up? Oburrow started to get a little
bit of run now because he's played really well the
last week with its Tim and Lamar Jackson. Right, so

(24:05):
we see they play next week on Thursday night and
we're getting yeah, they should actually just run a preview
with that instead of this game tonight is your MVP.
So you're starting to see some guys, you know, make
a little bit of a run. But who's been there
all year and done it all year? C J. Stroud's
been there all these games. Man. Yeah, he's now minus
five hundred to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. So

(24:26):
let's uh, you know, tip of the cap there. It's
still one hundred to one for the MVP. So if
you want to go drive to the desert, I don't
have to be anywhere till ten o'clock tomorrow tomorrow morning,
so we could drive there and fly back I think
in time enough for you to place your bet or
just drive to the border, open an app anywhere you go. Uh,

(24:47):
but yeah, the curiosity is the the schedule down the
stretch because it ain't bad. You gotta he got a
date against the Bengals coming up this week. Then you've
got Arizona Kyler Murray's back. Don't know what the that means,
Jacksonville at home, then the Broncos, then the Jets. Think

(25:07):
about that going and beating up on your Jets at
the Jets at Tennessee, then Cleveland, Tennessee and Indianapolis. Because
of the dopey scheduling that we do at the end
of seasons when teams have lost fifteen players each and
you just hope it's not your quarterback that's gone down
when you're trying to fight for a division battle. But

(25:28):
I'll yell about scheduling another time. Who's funny, right, No, no, no,
but just the let's load up all the divisional games
in the final four weeks. Yes, I get it, it
has meaning, but it doesn't given the war of attrition
that is the NFL. I'd rather have those games in
the first half the year, because in theory, we're still

(25:49):
more complete teams playing one another. But that's that's a
whole other thing. The schedule is certainly there for them
to creep towards five hundred and keep pace with where
they are right now. But the Titans, all you got
to do is get in right, which is nine and
eight right and eight G seven doesn't have a bunch
of rookie games, Yeah, mixed therein, But he hasn't. I

(26:11):
really thought, Well, I mean it's eight games. Yeah, let's
tell what you're talking. It's it's a good start.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
And the one thing you see is that with quarterback
quarterbacks of the one rookie position, you don't see them
hit the wall. They play well all the way through.
It's the running backs. It's the pounding of the running
backs and the wide receivers and the guys who go
through right.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
No, well look, look, I'm not saying it's perfect, but
I'm just saying it perfect.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
You know, the war of attrition, the number of times
and the beating that running backs take and what this
guy's been a pinata at times, keeps getting up in
and rallied. I give him all the love in the world,
but he's taken a lot of hits. So uh. But
but it's been fun to watch, right, I mean, they're
an exciting different brand of football. They've finally, at least

(26:56):
for the moment, seems settled in on their coaching staff
and buying into what they're doing. Nobody's looking over their shoulders,
and you've got a lot of I think there's talent
in the young guys. Right. You brought in Dalton Schultz
as well. Tell me he would. I mean, I like
Ferguson at all, but tell me Dalton Schultz didn't look
better in a Cowboys uniform for Dak Prescott. But you've

(27:19):
got talent there. So yeah, your Texans. I'll still take
Lamar or my guy Lawrence when it's all said and done.
But I like the boldness of this proclamation.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
I'm telling you, what if there was a player who
or anybody who would separate, and that's the problem now
is there's no separation. So if there's no separation, Hey,
who's really having the most impressive season?

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Right? Is Patrick Mahomes having his best season? No, he's
just up there because the Chiefs are winning and it's Mahomes.
Mahomes is seventeen to eight. I Mahlmes turned the ball
over a lot. He's not the same quarterback this year,
and the offense is not the same for the Chiefs.
So you can't tell me in a year where they're
not nearly the same team offensively, Mahomes is the MVP.
Everybody loves them. Now the rising of Lamar Jackson and
Joe Burrow one hundred percent right, one hundred percent right,

(28:03):
you got you got Joe Burrow who has owned October
and now the early part of November. But we've seen,
we've seen the guys play this well before. Here's somebody
in with a much less of a supporting cast and
doing the same things, having the same production as all
of these players. So if this guy's come in as
a rookie and he gets a team that's well, but
talent wise, they're just starting over. Man. Look, Demko, Ryan's

(28:25):
doing a phenomenal job and he's wind up being coach,
could wind up being coach for the because it ain't
gonna be Robert sala Uh. It's it's you know, there's
a lot of good stuff going on there. Finally, But
if there's no big separation and you wind up with, hey,
the Bengals win the AFC North, let's just say, and
Burrow throws thirty three touchdowns and the Texans go nine

(28:47):
to eight and squeak in the playoffs and CJ Stroud
throws thirty touchdowns with two picks. Guess who's the MVP.
It's CJ. Stroud, It's not Joe Burrow. Another eight games
to go, fun run at one hundred one. We're doing
mid season MVP talk. So I like that, and yeah,
there you go. You know me, I love the long lead.
Like you're turning this into an NBA players kind of conversation.

(29:10):
Let's worry about awards. By the way, James Harden was
at the club last night after he was he was
he was the Jason Smith Show. Is my best friend?
Mike Krmer? Just think about that. Jared Goff a couple
of weeks ago. Now giving you see jaystre Yeah, you
kicked him to the cur really fast. Tonight show brought
to by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.
Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,

(29:31):
ATV and more all your protection of one plays, bundle
and save at Progressive dot com. Now wait, see if
I have Michigan State losing to John Adams tonight, did
you sure they won tonight?

Speaker 6 (29:42):
They did lose to James Madison Monday Monday, The Arthener
at Home Baylor played John Brown, who I do not
believe was ever elected for US. No, I don't think
he's part of American history.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
But no. And also the John Brown's baby had upon
his John Brown's baby had upon that when you're a kid,
you know, I was thinking about John Brown, the third
wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals. Very speedy, very spetty.
There's your there's your MVP leader, Steve the Sager. Thank
you very much, my friend. What about Hollywood Brown? Sure? Sure?

(30:14):
What about uh Jackie Brown Brown a Brown champ de Brown? Sure?
Well there's there. We're getting lots of guys. There's Jim Brown.
There's James Brown, which one was soon with Jim Brown. Yeah,
you're probably right. Not James Brown. Just James Brown. Just
James Brown and James Brown. There you have the godfather
soul and and the CBS guy. Now there you go.

(30:36):
You have them both and Jim Brown. Are there any
other James Browns are missing? Oh no, it wasn't. James Brown,
quarterback of Texas. Right a few years ago when they
they won had that huge upset over who did they Bras?
That's right? Yes, yes, yes, look at that. Look at
all of this, just enough dancing and talking about Jim
Brown's to let you know that a thirty five yard

(30:58):
field goal is up and good. The Panthers have cut
it to sixteen thirteen. We'll have more Thursday Night football
because it's on TV. But coming up next. I didn't
think we'd be talking about a museum tonight on the show,
but we're going to be talking about a museum coming
up next Jason and Mike Fox. Be sure to catch

(31:20):
live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike harmon
weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific. Alex Tyshert,
I have a twenty dollars bill for you if you
can name me one other song by Devo. This is Devo?
Can I try sure? Go ahead?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Just another brick in the wall. Yeah it's very good, Yeah,
very good. Taking five congratulations.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Wow, I didn't know. I knew that. I mean they
may have done a cover. I mean they did have dude, dude, dude, Jason,
can I give a guess? You just guessed?

Speaker 3 (31:55):
No?

Speaker 2 (31:56):
I was just singing a verse. No, Now you now
when you had time to get on on on your computer,
good me this whole time, best of I can't see
what your hands are doing.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
During the air.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Now they are for the last fifteen I got turned
my MinC golfing on. Yeah, what was that? What you're doing? Maybe?
Are you? Yeah? See, I think if you do Devo great,
I said, you're not going to get a match. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I don't think that. I don't think so. I don't
think you are. I can't get No, they just had
then was it? I think there was. I think that
person was drafted by the uh, Sacramento King. He was
really distracted by discussions of the over under. That wasn't
nine we had in the NBA? Yeah, and then he

(32:43):
was just nine? Yeah, Nana Hillari when he was just
named soccer player, it was uh and then wait wasn't
wait wait wasn't that was the Martin Lawrence Cherry actually
Cherry Cherry, Yeah yeah, and eagle Eye Cherry Nana Cherry

(33:03):
was boys boys wrapped around my finger? Right? That was
it all the buffalo buffalo stands. Hey, yeah, but those
are big Dana Cherry. All right, very good. Yeah, Divo
did cover of Satisfaction, okay, and Tyser really did just
look that up, because what did you say what did
you say? A no, no, what did you say it was?
What was it? What was it? Tysa does even doesn't matter.

(33:25):
By the way, Devo in town here next week, really
to visit like his tourist. They've got a show. They're
gonna be in the Universal Tour. Come on in leading it. No,
they'll be sitting behind you. That'd be great. Hey, go
YouTube theater next week. The Bears could not get in
the end zone. Now they punted away to the Panthers.

(33:47):
They take over now down a field goal midway through
the fourth quarter. More on TNF coming up in a bit.
But I didn't think we talked about a museum today,
but we're gonna talk about a museum. It was now
today that the Lebron James Museum is going to open
in Akron, and it's an venture that is done by

(34:09):
Lebron and his foundation and all of the profits will
go to help the city of Akron. And there's going
to be all kinds of stuff there, replicas of locker rooms,
his first apartment that he lived in, him and his mom,
which kind of gives me a little bit of Matrix
vibes when you know he shows up in the ones
apartment and she's just sitting there making food. It's like,
you're not the one, honey, I'm sorry, you're not the one.

(34:32):
What makes you think you're the water on Lindsey Buckingham song.
There you go.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
So it's going to be a museum to the life
of Lebron in Akron. And this is something that is
so peak Lebron. Like if you say, what is the
most peak on brand thing about Lebron, it's complaining about referee. It's, well,
there's that, But it's Lebron James building a museum to

(34:57):
himself while he is alive, while he is still young,
while he is Usually usually you get museums when you
know you're done, you died, you're a long time ago.
Hey No, No, Lebron James is building his own museum inaccurate.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
If I had hundreds of millions of dollars, I'd buy
and build monuments to myself. This is see, this is
it's so narcissistic, but it's it's hidden in the but
I'm giving back to the community. That would be the
one way street side would be me point. I mean,
it's really it's only that way. I mean, this is
it's it's so narcissistic to the nth degree. But yet
it's I'm hiding this and but but all the money

(35:35):
is going to the community. Okay.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
His ability to polarize is unmatched in history. I don't
mean just sports, I mean in his There is nobody
who is more polarizing than Lebron.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
James tried. But the thing is he tries to do it.
He tried, I want to be polar I'm gonna have
my own museum, but I'm gonna give back. Oh, because
there's people who just do one thing and they're polarizing
because they do one thing. But this is Lebron saying, Hey,
I'm gonna have my own museum, but I'm gonna give
the money to the town. So what do you think. Well,
it's inspirational and and it'll raise needed funds for schools

(36:11):
and after after school programs and and all of that.
I mean, there's some good that comes out of it.
But yes, the point is well taken of. Really, here's
where I give us write a check. And here's this.
Here's the sneakers I had when I was here. Here's
the suit I warned the draft. Yes, it's give me
the suit. He war in two thousand and three, all
of these things. I mean, here's a back forward from
Saint Vincent.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
I mean, I.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Remember going to the Reagan Library like a few years ago,
and wow, here's like where he wrote the Second State
of the Union, all these amazing things.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
But President Reagan lived, he was like ninety eight, I
mean dead, and presidential librries are you know, just a
given right. It's just a matter of where it's gonna
be put. But this is this is a suit that
Lebron probably took out of his closets and but it's
in the museum. This is so peak Lebron. I want
to know what else is there? Art are in there? Oh?

(37:02):
I mean I don't know. At some point I'm gonna
have to go. I mean, at some point. They serve
tacos on Tuesdays there.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
I think that's the only the official that's the only
day they serve program get two taco too.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
That's what it is. I mean this.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
We'll have more on this and more on Thursday Night Football.
Big stuff out of the NFL, at big play. What's
gonna happen? Coming up next?

Speaker 6 (37:21):
Right here?

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Fox? John Stamos could do it.
