Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello, Welcome inside our two of The Jason Smith Show

rack dot com. I'll help you get there an unmatched selection,

(00:50):
buying should be. So do you think Mike Harmon the
NBA Saiday, listen, guys, we need to ratchet up the
intensity here for you know, this next round of in
season tournament game, so you know, get into it and
start fights with each other. Because we've had that with
the Lakers, We've had it with the Warriors. It's no
holds barred in Moscow nights, I.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Don't know that we necessarily got the full on code red,
but maybe in the orange kind of going towards the
flaming dumpster. I say, the Lakers, the Lakers dust up
was in the orange, and the Warriors and the Wolves
was in the red.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Well, I think, yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Think that was the letter of the memo of Hey,
we're trying to make this in season tournament mean something,
so we're gonna need you guys a not to dismiss
it when you're asked about it, because we how many
times did we see little clips back and forth the
end of last week's like I don't understand, I don't know,
like no that you can't have your players basically saying

(01:50):
I don't care, and baby, just a if you're gonna fight,
we don't want you to fight.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
But if you're gonna fight, fight in an in tournament game,
fight in one of those games. So then it becomes
after it a little bit in those games.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
So yeah, it really escalated over the last twenty twenty
minutes half hour, where we got guys in putting people
in choke holds, we got pulling of jerseys, we got
benches emptying it. It's really kind of become a next
level thing. I think it's the madness of the court.
I'm telling you that could be.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I get that in that court and I don't know
what I'm looking at, and I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
I just go crazy. Let's chew up.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Let's deal with the Lakers in Memphis. First, Anthony Davis
gets in it with Santi Aldama and just pushes him down,
just pushed him to the ground. It's like, WHOA wait
a minute. Then Desmond Bain gets an AD's face little bit,
he winds up going down, Ad gets a technical, D'Angelo
Russell gets a technical. Aldama and Baine and Taylor Jenkins

(02:46):
get technicals. But it looks like order has kind of
been restored for the most part in that game, although
a little bit of a dirty play we got potentially
have an injury where Smart got hurt. It looked like
he came down from a jumper and I couldn't tell
if Austin Reeves kind of did the I'm gonna stick
my foot out so you land on it. But he

(03:09):
went down and he was writhing in pain, possibly an
ankle injury for him. The Lakers lead at twenty six nineteen,
so right now the game is chippy. Surprise, Right now,
it's chippy.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
You and I are watching it on Spectrum Sports Net,
which is the home of the Lakers. Surprise, we didn't
get a replay to show us the sequence in full.
There again, but yeah, quick to point out the in
season tournament graphic that comes up. But yeah, it's it's
really kind of the next level thing. And I guess

(03:42):
for the NBA, you have no doubt that there were
memos and calls exchanged with teams because the apathy the
end of last week was it was laughable. I mean,
it made it look silly because we didn't Nobody understands
what we're trying to do. Yeah, the finals are gonna
be played in Vegas, and we had those games won't
count in the regular season. That game won't, but everything

(04:04):
else does. How the hell does that make any sense? Hey,
go win the n season tournament. All the other games
leading up to it count towards the stats on the
schedule whatever, But this one, this time, it counts and
it's over here in its own little bucket. So yeah,
get excited about an nd season tournament. What are we
playing for? What's the incentive? I don't know, Pride are

(04:26):
we already doing that eighty two times? And that what
we're suiting up and getting paid for. How is this different?
Explain to me, like I'm a five year old. So
Smart was helped to the locker room, did not put
any weight on his foot, and seeing the replay a
couple of times, it looks like Austin Reeves just came
down and Marcus Smart unfortunately landed on because you couldn't
tell the first time I saw it, it looked like

(04:49):
he may have put his foot forward, but doesn't like
that's what happened. It looks like he came right down
on it, and unfortunately he gets hurt. He's taken out
of the game.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Now that's different from what we saw with Golden State
and Minnesota because Draymond Green is going to get a
long suspension. Here's the play by play of what happened
that predicated and previewed the big dust up and fight
that happened at center court earlier in this game, about

(05:18):
twenty minutes ago.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Fat thirty and so we're scoreless.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
We'll stay zero zero the first two minutes and then
look at flake Topsai.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
To make Daniels what is going on with that?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
You've got a full on Francis going on.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Raymond came in to defend.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Play this gut out.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Of hand very quickly. A look at CLAYT.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Thompson's jersey, it's ripped up.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
That's more than a scuffle.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Gonna have to go to replay and.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Look at all of this.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
But Klaate Thompson's never been involved in anything like that.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
What was Jade McDaniel's doing.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
They were going at each other's heads and then Rudy
Gobear slammed the table.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Everybody's fine, Warrior, Too soon, Too soon for that. Warriors
Radio Network on the call, a nothing, nothing game, and
the Warriors are bringing the ball up after the Minnesota
misses and Klay Thompson gets locked up a little bit
with Jaden McDaniels and he kind of gives them a
little bit of a stiff arm. McDaniels doesn't like it,
kind of holds on to Clay's jersey as they start

(06:23):
going down the court, and of course, now because they're
locked up, Clay is trying to get free. McDaniels is
holding on to him, and you can see Clay's jersey
being pulled and tugged, and look he's a guy. He
put his hand out on McDaniels and and this is
something that happened. Okay, everything is this happens in the NBA.
Guys get technicals. But now you see the players get
to the middle of the court because it becomes a

(06:45):
thing and you want to break it up. Make sure
you guys aren't getting fought. Rudy Gobert comes into the
comes into the middle of it, and he's not doing anything.
He kind of just gets there. Draymond Green grabs him
from behind in an immediate headlock. He leaps on Rudy
Gobert from behind, immediately right arm around Go Bear's throat

(07:06):
and in that headlock he pulls him off of the players.
And he doesn't just pull him off, He kind of
drags him a few feet before go Bear is able
to stand up and order is eventually restored. Draymond was
thrown out, obviously, and this is a really difficult video

(07:28):
for anybody to defend. Draymond on I can't wait till
after the game was say, well, what do you want
me to do? This is how I'm not gonna go
in and protect my teammates. He went and grabbed Gobert
from behind, which is dirty, grabbed him from behind in
a choke hold and pulled him off the pile. And
if I get it, if Gobert is in there and
he's doing a lot of damage, he's throwing haymakers and
guys are hitting the floor, but he just went in

(07:49):
right away from behind, dirty grabbed him, grabbed him in
a headlock, and pulled them out. That's dangerous. Men. He
grabs somebody by the neck and you're pulling Come on, man,
this has gotta be a long ass suspension for Draymond Green.
I know he's gonna play the victim like he always does.
So what do you want me to do if it happens?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
What happens?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
This is it, And I know that Draymond Green apologists
are gonna try to find their way saying, oh hey, Draymond,
I get what's going on. He's trying to lead, he's
sparking the team all this crazy crap. You're gonna hear, sure,
but this is a You look at this and go, well,
this is what they mean by a physical altercation that
results in the suspension. He grabs them from behind in
an immediate headlock. Not that they start grappling and he

(08:26):
ends up in a headlock. He grabs him from behind
in a headlock and drags them off. That's dangerous, man,
that's a long suspension.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Oh he should and all the talk of the cerebral
leader and emotional guy whatever, Man, that's crap. If anybody
tries to sell that here. Sometimes you can do it
in the heat of a moment. We've seen coaches, you
take the technical try to rally your troops whatever. Or
in Draymond's case, he's defending someone. In this case, did

(08:53):
you need to come over the top to that?

Speaker 4 (08:55):
I mean, Rudy Gobert.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
I think the funniest thing starting to go around is
the it's being kind of described as the half assed
way that Karl Anthony Towns gets involved with trying to
separate Draymond Green from Gobart's neck because there's photos of
go Bear choking out, so it kind of adds into
the into the extra flavor there. But yeah, just dangerous plays.

(09:20):
You know, the at mid court it just looks like
a dance, all right, separate I.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Mean he flying in from behind, he comes running in
from behind to grab him. This is there's no there's
no part. It's where I can say, oh, I see
what Draymond's escalated.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
This is where you needed to be in there.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
I've lost control. I've lost control on a basketball court.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
When become so soft a lot of stakes.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
That's true, very well, But that's the thing we were
trying to determine, and that's what I said.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
They sent out a memo. Did they actually disclose what
was at stake?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Wait?

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Carl still trying to find that out.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Do Draymond's technicals and getting tossed just count for the
in tournament? Do they count for the season? Until this
game counts for the season? Right, so it's the season?
But but but does is but whatever penalty he gets
count for the season because these, unlike the finals of
the tournament, are not considered season playing. Okay, but does
he get like sixteen technical thousands?

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Yes, spending counts for the season.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
No?

Speaker 3 (10:16):
But does he gets sixteen just in these seven games
and then his suspension and then the other seventy five
games he has another sixteen?

Speaker 6 (10:24):
No?

Speaker 3 (10:25):
No, unfortunately not again the only the one only the
final does not count is the finals or final?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I mean hockey, it's final? What is No? That's the
fun we're having with it nobody knows.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
But do you suspend Draymond Green for the rest of
the in season tournament.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Or why suspend him?

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Dude? Did you see what he did? You see what
he did?

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Man, dude, this is the tournament I know, I know,
ratcheted up. You ever seen blood Sport?

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, I mean this is really next level.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
That's not a tournament, Sure, it kind of is. It's
a game.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
He says. You want to play a game, Yeah, but
the game is pretty serious.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Say you want to come to the tournament.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
There's a tournament. Are you gonna try to win the ship?

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah, there's no ship. There's no ship. Hey, if you
win the ship, you get to go free. But if not,
you gotta start cutting parts off your body.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yeah, but here's the problem. Anyway, you get to go free.
But we're currently on a little boat tour around Alcatraz
where there may or may not be really bad currents
and great white sharks for you to have a game.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Congratulations.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Not like is the fact when the makers made that movie,
they said, you know I want is a bad guy? Well,
who the guy who was one of the main henchmen
in the firm?

Speaker 4 (11:38):
I want that guy?

Speaker 1 (11:39):
How great is that? What Wilfred Brimley, No, no, no, no.
The other guy. The other guy, how Wholebrook? No no, no,
the other guy. How do you know his name? Tobin's something. Yeah,
let's let's get that's the guy on Oh, the guy
that just chases him. Yeah you want him?

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, But I want to know what he makes when
he does a convention, like when he does a three
date convention.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
What kind of cash? I heard Orny Adams on with.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Bucks every thirty seconds for a signature and a picture.
Twenty five bucks, boom boom, No no, no, add the picture.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
You're getting up to here one hundred because now you
get to talk to me and touch me.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Well, I don't know if you get to touch him.
I don't think it to do that. That's not that's
crossing your armor, right, but jrm around you got just
hold it right there, he's got a hold of Okay,
like it walking through a theme pot happening, you're one
hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
You're one hundred dollars. You're gonna have a couple of
souvenir popcorn buckets. You're one fifty.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Anything goes in tournament play again, Let's get ready for
a league hit smooth tension for Draymond Green. I don't
know if they'll make the finals. When not make the finals,

Speaker 1 (14:01):
I like this song, Tyshirt, what is it?

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Through the Wire?

Speaker 1 (14:05):
All right?

Speaker 5 (14:05):
By who Kanye West?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Okay, I've never heard this one.

Speaker 8 (14:12):
Millions that he actually got into such a bad car accident.
His jaw was wired shut and he's rapping with it.
That's why it's called through the wire.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
What is that true? There?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
I was just going to make a joke that we
do have millions of songs in the larger world that
it was good to kind of, you know, expand our
horizons because that samples that. Through the Fire right by
Nita Base Yes right, yeah, okay.

Speaker 8 (14:34):
No, it's a crazy story literally car accident that an
idea went to the studio record with his mouth jaw
basically wired shut.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
I did not know that crazy. I dig that, all right,
that's weird, wild stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Exit. How about a Fresco exit? Swollen down the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. A big
stat from Snighte's Timberwolves Warriors game. We just told you
about only game since the NBA ABA merger to have
three different starting players ejected before a point was scored.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
How about that? You like to be in the record
look for something. I guess there it is.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Hey, we'll get back into that. Draymond Green gets ejected.
A long suspension is likely following David Stern, You kidding?

Speaker 8 (15:14):
He would have.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
He would have woke up right now saying, Bernice, make coffee.
I'm gonna start Tom doing interviews now get ready.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
I'd be sware with his famous Montgomery Burns look, because
that was the guy that always did the fingers crossed
like Monty Burns.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
We'll have more NBA on the way again. Lakers are
leading Grizzlies right now forty six thirty three. There's a
bit of a dust up in that one, but not
clearly to the extent we saw between the Warriors and
the Wolves. But speaking of a guy with his fingers crossed,
a man who every time he's tweeted in the last week,
I have responded with a quote from the movie eight

(15:47):
men out. It is long time college football inside in
front of the show, the owner, editor, proprietor of College
Footballnews dot com, your one stop shopping for everything college football,
all the previews, all the analysis you need. It is
Pete feutech pete.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
What's happening, Bud?

Speaker 6 (16:04):
So I didn't see it? So were they fighting because
Minnesota was mad that they didn't draft Steph Curry like
and they're just still got anger issues over that that
they completely watched that trait. That can't be true. I mean,
there had to have been some perfuffle at some point
before a game. Couldn't NBA history?

Speaker 1 (16:24):
No, right, but no, here's where I'm gathering happened. Is
that Jade McDaniel said, hey, you lost your team there
in Vegas now, and then Klay Thompson said something about
Kirk Cousins, and McDaniel says, oh, we got Josh Dobbs now,
and they were grabbing each other and it really just
got out of control right.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
There, exactly, Lord Pomboll, that kind of fights back and forth. Yeah, yeah,
there's all sorts of ways that these guys can get
mad at each other. But I digressed, all right, So before.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
We get into Michigan and what's next for them. We
had the playoff tonight. The latest poll not a lot
of surprises. Yeah, Georgia, I guess is up over Ohio State. Okay,
we still have a long way to go. If I
said to you, Pete fu Tech, your big takeaway of
the latest college football playoff rankings is blank, what would
you tell me it is.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
Florida State had better went out?

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Is that?

Speaker 6 (17:14):
Because if Missouri really, first of all, they're over ranking
a lot of the playoffs Committee is kind of a
mess this year with how they're doing rankings. There's no
consistency to any of this. Because if you're gonna go
buy eye tests, if you're gonna go by whatever, I
don't know how Tulane is ranked. I don't know how
Michigan is basically on I test is just three in

(17:36):
Ohio States. There's a lot of stuff there. But what
they did by dropping Louisville and graving up Missouri, as
they're saying, you know what, a SEC's kind of thought
this year. And so if in the pecking order of
teams that are in this if let's say the Seminoles
dropped the game to Florida, then they're gonna need some help, so, uh,

(17:58):
they're gonna have to hope that a lot some other
teams are going to have to drop by because at
the immediate moment, we have a historic thing happening. Never
in the history of college football have we had five
ten and zero Power five level programs at once, and
we've had ten oh one one, but that's not the same.
So we've got these amazing teams and Oregon and Alabama

(18:21):
and they all won last week, so they're all still
alive in this so we're kind of setting up for
a pretty crazy finish here.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
It's a lot of fun and obviously we're we're staring
at Washington and Oregon thinking about what the PAC twelve
court ruling and everything earlier today as well. But Washington
sitting there in the five spot pete, the last month
of PAC twelve action has not been kind to them
in terms of making them, you know, a stronger case
of hey, we gutted out some w's.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
Yeah, and there's that. There's Oregon State's going to play
a big role here and it's Arizona. Arizona teams against
Oregon tend to do bad things to the Ducks. Traditionally.
I know it doesn't matter over the history of stuff
when the kid who are playing now, but this is
also Arizona State, oregons feels like one of those things

(19:10):
that could be a little quirky, just because so we
have not had in the thirtieth anniversary of this time
of year. We have not had Boston College, Notre Dame.
We have not had that moment where out of the blue,
you know, something bizarre happened. I thought it was gonna
be last week it's Utah beating Washington. No, I thought
Woman's had a shout against Georgia. Really know, So it's

(19:32):
coming because it has to. Just every year in college football,
those things happen, whether it's gonna be Oregon State doing this,
whether it's gonna be Iowa State versus Texas, whether it's
gonna be Aubering into Alabama. We are way overdue for
a curve ball upset somewhere here.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Wow, that's a nice David Gordon reference by Pe Futech
right there. That guy's like fifty two now. Every day
probably remember when you made that field goal to beat
note today, Yes, yes, every day someone brings it up
up he Hey, if it gets them a free sandwich
every now and again. It's a win, right. You know.
The thing is, Pete, and we talked about this beginning
of the show, is that if we had a year

(20:08):
like this way earlier in the fourteen playoff, this is
where we would have gotten a change and expanded playoff
right away. Because the minute a Texas or an Alabama
or an undefeated Washington gets left out like all the
big heritage programs are, then we would get changed right away.
And so all the college football planers doesn't work. One
lost Alabama couldn't find their way in, and we would

(20:30):
have had an expanded playoff the next year. But it
just so happens we're getting it now when we get
the twelve team playoff in a year. All right.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
So I worked with these guys. I know how they think,
I know how they roll. In theory. The entire point
of having a committee and I'm using air quotes on
the radio here ex is that they're supposed to be
there to make the decision and know the difference between
Bama and Texas and Georgia and Florida, Stateton, Washington, and

(20:57):
they're supposed to be no enough that they can come
up with the four best teams out of that any
you know, bunch of yahoos? Can you know, we're like,
oh yeah, the four Power five conference champions that are undefeated. Okay,
let's put them. Then that's that's the easy part and
they've gotten away with it. It's when you have to
make a big call that that's when this gets tricky.
So with right for Sea coming right, the one real

(21:21):
big giant curve ball, which isn't going to happen, We're
going to spend a lot of time talking about over
the next two couple of weeks, is what happens if
Alabama beats Georgia, Because all of a sudden, that sets
a wave in motion of a lot of things because
the big undefeated, a Big ten champion in no matter
what one seed, probably of the Rose Bowl. Let's let's
assume Florida State wins out, probably will thirteen to zero,

(21:43):
no way know how, no champions left outs, and let's
just say like Washington wins out. Could absolutely happen. Now,
what happens if Texas goes twelve and one and wins
the Big twelve championships and Alabama just beat number one
ranked two times defending national champion Georgia. I want to
see the stones on that committee that says, you know what,

(22:06):
we know that Texas beat Bama by ten at Alabama,
but you know what, we're putting Bama in anyway, God
help you in that those guys in Great they're gonna
have to move the entire operation Great Vine, Texas if
they actually decide to do that.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
It would be like in politics when when a decision
is made and and and politicians vote against something, and
then the next thing you see is here's the phone
numbers of all the people. Call them and tell thembout
you disagree with their decision. That's what you would get
for the college football Playoff members.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
And because we're partying like it's nineteen ninety three, remember
that's what happened because the week before the Boston College thing,
you had the game of the century of that year
with Notre Dame beating Florida State, and then Florida State
went on and got the number into being number one
and Notre Dame number two, and Lou Holtz was screaming,
wait a minute, we beat those guys. So it's been

(23:00):
before we're headed in the history of college football where
you've had leap frog things like that. But wow, if
how do you how do you justify putting Bama ahead
of Texas when you got housed by them relatively easily
in the fourth quarter in that so uh, again, it's
not gonna happen. You know, Washington's gonna lose probably twice.

(23:22):
You know there's gonna be something funky here. It's gonna
work out, it's gonna be cut and dry and easy
and all that. Uh. But if it's not, it's just
more fun to think about.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Now.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
With the Michigan hearing on Friday, number one, have you
heard anything about what scalp seats are for?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (23:37):
To be there?

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (23:39):
And and be What's what message could you possibly be
sending by running the ball thirty straight times and saying
hi to the rest of your conference? Oh no, what
an effort against Penn State. But I mean, what are
you expecting out of this hearing other than some fireworks
from Jim Harbaugh about his chickens.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
I despised all things in Michigan, including all my friends
and people included here and everybody, because everyone went to
the Michigan cares a Michigan's bennoying. So it's because now
they're all gonna wear their T shirts and Michigan versus
everybody and all that. So I despise it all. With
that said, kind of digging this team, I just you
know what, this is not a real scandal. This is

(24:18):
not like anything that really matters in the rest of
the world. And wow, is this a drama thing happening
with this Michigan. Oh the history the legacy of this
and they're just whatever, just go beat people. Nobody cares really,
just go keep beating people. But you're right, that was
a state that's like we're gonna run it. You can't

(24:39):
stop us, and we're gonna win this game kind of easily.
And let's see how this goes scored because that team
kind of the meltdowns at the end, they seem like
they're a little little little on edge, a little fried
a little bit here. So let's see what they do
over these last couple of weeks here. But this Michigan
team is just that good. And that's you know, a
lot of things can be two at once. You can

(24:59):
have out this scandal that this stuff actually happening, and
Michigan can just be that good.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
You know, if here's something that I've been waiting to
talk to you for four days about We saw it twice.
We saw We saw it in the Michigan game against
Penn State. We saw it with USC and Oregon late.
The number of teams that are down two scores at
the end of a game. They score a touchdown, they
could kick the extra point to be down eight, you're
still down a score. You need a two point where
you're still down a score and the game is still there.

(25:28):
They go for two, don't make it, and the game
is over. I know that now you know what you need. No, no,
you would be no, I know what you need. You
would have needed just a one score. Now you need
two scores. Don't give me. I know what I need.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
I am an analytics guy. I believe it to a point.
I do believe in numbers and all that. I do
not believe in two points. You can tell me all
the charts and stuff you want, but there's a like
exactly that USC games like, well, we need to go
for two now to know what we need to do. Yeah,
you missed the two you know you need to do.
You need to go home yea or three minutes ago,

(26:02):
like so, I am don't lose the game, like, oh,
you bet, your chances are better to win, Like, those
are the people who in Vegas end up building, you know,
these massive casinos, because they're the ones who are the
chances of me missing this hand three times in a
row is no, it doesn't work like that. And I'm
so completely I just screwed up now by all the

(26:24):
people who are showing me charts and graphs and all
these different things. Literally, I had a second last night
during the Monday night game where Buffalo scores, I'm like,
they're down by one. I'm like, are they gonna go
for two here? You know, are like it's like wait
a minute, instead of wait, tying the game and being
you know, they were, they started to tie the game,
I'm like, wow, are they going to go for the

(26:44):
extra point? Here? Are they going to go for two?
Because the chart says and you're supposed to go for two?
You're like, it's it's completely messed up how this is happening.
And it's and you would think that for all the
extra super coaches that they have and all the analytics
and all the things that these people do, and all
the commando units going out and scouting everyone else's teams
and stuff that they would have this one figured out,

(27:06):
and that happened in the Penn State game. Where again,
if you're going for two and you miss that, that
doesn't get factored in everyone thinking, well, your chances of
winning are better. Yeah, if you make it. But this
isn't the NFL. The NFL is you keep a better
chance to make it. College not a sure thing for anything.
So I'm with you. I mean, don't go for two
unless you have to, unless you just scored a touchdown

(27:28):
to go up seven. In that case, you always go
for two because it's a relatively speech chance to go
up by two scores.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
He's on Twitter at Pete feutech That is, at Petefeudtech
College Footballnews dot com. You are one stop shopping for
everything college football. Pete will catch you on Friday night
we preview the weekend's action. Will you be joining us
from court after Jim Harbaugh's day, like I want to
see you, like in a people's court kind of situation.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
Absolutely? Or yes, because apparently that's where the world is
at right now. Is the whole world are on Jim Harbaugh?

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Take it easy, buddy. Well, we'll see if he can
get any updates from Rusty the banding, Like.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
What was what was the People's Court music's thing? That's
right right, ill, Like keep thinking of the terminators, the
CMZ guy made and Harvey Love. Really he started the
People's Court.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
He was here's the guy on the streets for a
while because they changed the format so the reporter would
be out there and he'd be asking passers by, like
even set up the case.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
Actually, Harvey got embedded with the Kardashians.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yeah, wow, did you say started? You said embedded?

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Well, I mean it could be that means in bed.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
I just wanted to just say in bed and you
got in the audience and they decide to interpret that however,
they Is.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
There anybody that hasn't been in bed with the Kardashians I.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
Got yet had the opportunity.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Oh that's I feel bad for you.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Look at Harvey actually raised his hand, do we wy?

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Don't you know? I'm not Tyshert did too.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
I'm not dated Joe or Kim or Kylie or Kendall,
none of them, Rob, none of them, none of I
haven't dated any of them.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Well, tysher doesn't believe in coitus.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
It has been a while. That's so random.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
You to just say so much different than I don't
believe I believe in me and either I was explaining
why no I know, but that's just just to.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Throw it out there.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Well, you gotta give up meeting a lot of other things, Jason.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
So oh.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon live from the

Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

Speaker 1 (30:00):
What year is this? Fox Sports Radio? The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Rman.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Jason, when's the last time you heard limb Biscuit?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I don't know, Man, two thousand and four.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
I heard that first chord and I just started laughing.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
You're gonna shut Napster down. Tyshert Campbell.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
TJ Biscuit went limp.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I didn't use napster, I used the other one.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Uh oh sure, no, no.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
No, I used the other LimeWire, a little bit of
LimeWire and Fox Wire.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
No no, no, I did a little bit of all
of it.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Back at the day triple wire, no no, no, no
statute limitation, George Bors said, hey.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
If everybody stops, nobody has to pay anything.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Thank you George.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
When he did that, as long as you didn't download Metallica,
you're not getting them either.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
And even they all these years later, like, yeah, we
probably should have approached that a little bit different.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
Lars was such a dummy.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Maybe a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Well, but then they were smart about it then. And
Pearl Jambre two of the acts to realize, hey, if
we start streaming everything we do, or in Pearl Jams cases,
hey every stop on a tour, we're gonna print vinyl
and CDs that you can buy or subscribe to have
at it. So they still got their money.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Uh. Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is the number.
Jason Smith Mike Carmon live from the tirec dot Com studios.
Ahead of the Curve is the name of the show. Yeah,
I mean not with that music. It's back in two
thousand and four, but as a crew back again. Just
like Creed, we talk about things ahead of the curve.
It's not just a week ago that we told you, hey,
there's a path for CJ. Stroud to win MVP. And

(31:38):
sure enough, what are we seeing this week? C J
Stroud dani Rolofsky is dining out on You know, c
J Stroud, we told you a week ago the CJ
Stroud could win him. There's a path for him to
win the MVP, and all he's got to do is
get a a middling Texans team to the playoffs. You
can win MVP, so I don't have to win the division,

(31:59):
have to go crazy. You get to the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
He col win the MV By the way, how many
people in Houston are thanking Lovey Smith for winning that game?

Speaker 1 (32:06):
No, they're all thanking me because I picked the Lions
to go to the super Bowl, which is the second
ahead of the curve, which now suddenly Tony Romo says
during the game on Sunday, Jim, Jim, Jim, Hey, you
know the Lions are pretty good, Jim. This could be
a Super Bowl team and suddenly, Oh, Tony Romo says,
the Lions goes. I told you beginning that they were
my preseason pick. Lions to the super Boy.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
I'm telling you we need the extra TV and video
element to really be Jim next level Jim, because those
guys they get they get the.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Clout man, Jim.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
I just looked at the standings. The Lions are in
first place, Jim, Jim. Can you believe that, Jim, Jim,
that is a huge development, Jim.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
You know what they got for their efforts, Jim. Now
go try to sell the Jets this week, Jim, Jim.
You know we're doing the Jets and the Bells Jim, Jim.
You know both those teams lost last week, Jim.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Him. Did you see what happened to the Bells Jim
the end of the game, Jim. Oh, Jim, Oh, that
was a huge development, Jim, Jim, Jim. The you know,
the Broncos missed the field goal, Jim, and then and
then the Bills had tuny men in ahuddle because you
can't have twelve Jim. Oh, that was something. I would
say this.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
The one thing that could get you with your Lions prediction, Jim,
is that defense has some some holes.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
It is.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, that could be it because if Golf has a
golf game, which he often does away from home. Now,
this week it was the Chargers. Sorry, it is what
it is. But the defense could be the thing that
is there undoing. But as so long as Montgomery and
Gibbs are in the backfield to get things rolling, they're
a dangerous.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Fans are wearing diapers for this one, Jim Jim.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Jim the coach said, wear diapers because he's gonna make
crazy calls. Jim, Jim. Can you believe that, Jim.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
They're gonna be walking around wearing them.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Wearing a huge diaper, Jim, Jim, Jim.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
They're all wearing diapers now, Jim, Jim, Jim.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
You can get a cut of the the diaper sales
in the Greater Detroit area.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
They're gonna be Honolulu blue diapers. Yeah, you the diapers.
I have the stripes on the side.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
It almost looks like, wait, wait, did you die the
diaper or does it turn blue after.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
A white diaper? White diaper with the silver and blue
line up the side. Because I'm trying it.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
You want to always how do you monetize it?

Speaker 1 (34:13):
How do you make money. You make money on it. Yeah,
the blue and silk, blue and silver line up for
the white diaper.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
That works here, you go.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Diapers are white for a reason. They are white for
a reason. Okay, And everybody, if you had a kid,
you understand why if you don't have a kid diaper right,
diapers are white for a reason. They are white for regions.
So you know, you know there's colored diapers right there
are but there, but everybody uses white diapers. How do
you know that?

Speaker 5 (34:38):
Do you know everybody does?

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Kid?

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Because all you have to do is use a different
colored diaper once and go, oh my head. Got to
use white diapers. I mean, Smith is a diaper expert.
Got to use white diapers. So I could see that
man that snuck up on me little buddy diapers. I
put my hand right in.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
That in like that.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Huhn't like that? Oh we shouldn't have bought the brown diapers.
They were not gonna go well.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
I mean that was a bad idea, just like milk
on a hot San Diego day, bad idea.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Jo uh and the other ahead of the curve. How
long have we told you? This is it? For Belichick
being in the in the summer we said, watch the
blank tire fire that this team is because they're terrible,
and no one's going to be okay with the Patriots
sucking again, and it's gonna be a mutual decision, and
he's walking away at the end of the year. And

(35:26):
now everybody, every day there's a mounting evidence is Bill
Belichick gonna get fired? Will we make it to the
end of the season. Even Marv Levy's wife is ripping Belichick.
Marv Levy ninety eight years old, did an interview the
other day about the NFL and everything else, and they
talked about Belichick, and his wife jumps in and says,
I don't like him. He was never nice to Marv,
and you you can print that. Then Marv Levey's wife

(35:51):
is getting out takes on Bill Belichick.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Well, when you know, sometimes it becomes in vogue to
pile on. That's where we're at. But with a bunch
of the stuff what passes as quote reporting. And this
is why I say, as soon as you get in
front of the hot take nonsense theater, sports television or
on sports talk right, just take the jay away. Don't
try to pass yourself off as a journalist. You're guessing

(36:14):
your sources and all this other. You know, I'm hearing that.
It's like what you were listening to a couple of
goofballs getting a cup of coffee off a roach coach
and they were talking about, Yeah, Belichick's gotta be going.
I heard them. They're upset. Yeah, those are my sources,
those are my guys. They're firing up about it. So
I'm gonna go with it. Like nobody's got any hard

(36:34):
reporting on any of this, like I'm hearing, Like for us,
it was a here read the t leaves, a theoretical
if this, if the defense can't carry him, then they're
in trouble.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
And sure enough, they're in trouble.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
