Two things I can tell you right now, Thursday night
football is at halftime and Carissa Thompson still has a job.
Those things are both true. Is the Amazon halftime show.
Don't know what she's saying, don't know if anything is
the truth, but she is working. She has a job.

(01:09):
Well at this point, just read the score. Read the
box score. Then I got a double check it and
I got a double check. It is it really twenty
one to ten? Is it really twenty one? If I
see it become twenty one? Really twenty one? D Did
Rashad Bateman actually hold on to a pass in the
end zone? Did a coach actually tell me the score
was twenty one to ten? Did they actually tell me
what the score is? Yeah? It is a uh point

(01:31):
a lot of anger. We could just read tweets for
about four hours from media luminati. I'll tell you that's
a story we're going into coming up in about fifteen
minutes that I can't tell you how mad, like I
was sports mad about the way the Broncos won the
game against the Bills Monday night, because they they did
everything wrong and they still won the game. I was
sports mad this. I am just mad mad. You're mad?

(01:52):
You're mad mad about this? Yes? Yeah, I on like
so many left, Like there's so many things wrong about this,
this Charrissa Thompson thing. But let's begin with Thursday Night.
Let's go with that with something that's really wrong according
to the league. I mean, we're gonna get to that
coming up in about fifteen but Thursday Night Football twenty
one to ten, that's the truth. The Ravens have the

(02:15):
lead over the Bengals at halftime. It's been a great
first half for Lamar Jackson. He's near two hundred yards
passing a couple of touchdowns. Watching him play in the
first half, you can tell there's a difference in him
for what we've seen so far this year. He makes
different reads. He doesn't always tucket under and go. He's

(02:36):
much more judicious with when he decides to run with
the football now and look, the Ravens are playing pretty well,
and it's a little bit different. Hey, not so much
where it's like, Okay, we're just gonna limit the way
you run. It's just, hey, sometimes I look at him
and I go, that's where he would have run, but
he waited an extra couple of seconds because he knows, Okay,

(02:57):
this is where the pattern's gonna go, and it's gonna
develop a lit a little bit more and I can
get the ball there. And that's kind of what I
see from him in the first half. Has been a
big Master's class in it. But that's kind of what
I've seen from him so far throughout the season is
there's times where he would have just tucked it and
run and that's when it is rushing attempts up to fifteen, seventeen,
eighteen twenty, but a lot less now because he's staying

(03:17):
with the play a little bit longer. And that's a
really good thing for me. But it's something we've been
talking about, and it might be to Josh Allen's detriment
that he's kind of doing the same thing right, not
taking off with reckless abandon the same way here in
the final drive of the half. But Josh Allen's just
throwing it downfield thing. Hey wow, But usually on third,
third and long. You know, Yes, that second interception the

(03:39):
other day was terrible. I'll still die on the hill
of Hey, Gabe Davis catch the bleeping ball? Wow? But well,
am I wrong? No? No, he shouldn't have the first.
But he's got ten other ones, and not of all
of them, we could go off all We can probably
excuse a couple of He's got a lot of bad
and complete going on. There's a lot of terror, there's

(04:00):
no question about it. But just to you know, bring
that full circle in terms of guys who usually just
tucked the ball and ran. Alan was doing the same
thing with Lamar Jackson a little bit more trust and
faith in his wide receivers, aided by a number of
pass interference calls. Here they did have a long touchdown

(04:20):
pass that wasn't negated the penalty. You could argue the
letter of the law spirit of the law in terms
of holding. When wide receivers are getting called for holding calls,
I can kind of chuckle most of the time. Alright,
he had a handful of jersey. But to your point, yeah,
it's a good spot. Hendrickson has played well, does it
hasn't matter Cincinnati defense. You've seen Lamar Jackson take advantage

(04:42):
of it, and a couple of guys who you normally
don't see in the box score with the TD next
to their names, Nelson Aguilar and Rashad Bateman. I mean
Bateman scored the touchdown and then I thought he fainted
because he did a thing of collapsing in the end zone.
Was like, oh, I caught a pass, caught. This one
doesn't happen to me. Ever, I got it. Meanwhile, you know,

(05:03):
Tyler Boyd is still looking to hold on to a
ball eventually. But for the Ravens, I had no doubt
that they'd come out with a big effort after that
collapse against Cleveland on Sunday. Now it's a matter of
can you finish right, can you finish the job, because
that has been a problem historically for Lamar Jackson and
the Baltimore Ravens. Tonight, Joe brought you by Progressive Insurance.

(05:24):
Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy
discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV and more.
All your protection is in one place, Bundle and safe
at Progressive dot Com. So there's the Raven side of it.
They look to be bouncing back very well. Now we
get to the big side, the Bengals trailing twenty one

(05:44):
to ten, maybe playing the rest of this game without
Joe Burrow. We got trouble in Burrow ahead. Joe Burrow
coming into this game with an injury he may or
may not have had on his right he was not
disclosed with accordance to the NFL rules such thing. You

(06:05):
had video of him getting off the bus getting to
Baltimore yesterday in advance of the game, and video caught
him walking and he had some kind of brace around
his wrist, and Burrow and this is how smart Burrow is,
Like there's no way he sees that camera shooting him.
But he sees the camera and he moves his hand

(06:26):
very quickly to go okay, but the camera got a
little bit of it. So wait a minute, Joe Burrow
have a wrist injury or not? What's going on? Burrow
plays in the first half, and what happens. He has
left the game with a wrist injury, questionable to return.
You see pictures of it. Doesn't look good. He tried

(06:46):
to throw the ball on the sideline and he was
in a lot of pain. You could see him trying
to throw the ball after he comes out of the
game and he just shakes his head no, and then
he gives a big f bomb and he goes to
the locker room. So his questionable to return. Here's how
the true sideline report came in about Joe Burrow and
what's going on? I mean, well with Burrow, Kaylee, what

(07:08):
do you know, guys?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
You saw the second throw he attempted to make. I
saw the first just seconds before that.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
He cannot grip the ball. He could not raise his.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Elbow about above a ninety degree angle as he tried
to release that ball. He's obviously in pain. He hit
the ground after he attempted that first throw. You see
the recoil, the reaction there. Now he said it back
to the.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Locker room, all right, Now, that is a true setting.
That's not CHRISA. Thompson right, We're okay, okay. That is
a true sideline report, and that is that is where
we are up to date right now with Joe Burrow.
The big question here is, wait a minute, were you
hiding an injury your quarterback coming into this game? Well,
because when he did the purple hiding an injury? Yeah,

(07:55):
because when he did the purp walker, the whatever, the
catwalk or whatever we want to call it, the entrance
into the stadium. No brace, you're on, right, said friend
on the catwalk, but whatever we're calling it, right, it's
a fashion show he was into. It's still at the
point where the NFL. It's it's him walking walking into
the stadium. That's okay, well said thing, but arm swinging. Look,

(08:16):
I got no brace on my head, met me, Hey,
got no strings on me. I know you look good.
I'm going you actually going, I was going altron Okay, good,
because I gotta explain you. I gotta explain Pinocchio to
I gotta explain what's before Generation X, what's before? Did
you did you like the Tom Hanks? I did. I
gotta explain it to the greatest generation. But the did I?

(08:42):
What did you like the Tom Hanks wan? Or no?
THEO It was okay, I thought unnecessary, but okay, yeah,
I mean I said, there go who green lit that
and said we need that? Somebody somebody people know. But
see if it went into theaters like this is another
case of it went straight to streaming. I think this
was there'll be a dearth of quality stuff in the

(09:02):
theater and then COVID hit and it's like, ah, damn,
it goes straight to video, straight to streaming. But yeah,
the Joe Burrow video that went up and then got
pulled down, I'll give Amazon credit. They actually showed it
in his part in the telling guest here you go.
This was part of the history. They had to preface
it by saying, this is actual video. This is actually,
well everything becomes actual actual video. You know how much

(09:25):
I hate the You know this actually and this is
pretty good. Actually, my kids do that every once in
a while. A something actually what you thought it was
gonna suck? I've been feeding you forever you've never shoved
the plane away with a complaint before. Now we're getting
the report. I see it on Amazon. Zach Taylor. Now,
I don't know if he told the sideline reporter or not.
And I don't know which sideline reporter he taught. Who
is it? The jokes just right themselves. You are probably

(09:49):
not going to see Joe Burrow the rest of the night.
He's got an ear piece in, he's on the sideline.
It doesn't look like he's coming back. And we have
Jake Browning back on the field or the first snap
of the third quarter. So it looks like Joe Burrow
is done. And the big questions are gonna be at
the end. Was he hurt? What happened? As you heard
second throw of the game, couldn't grip the football, couldn't

(10:12):
throw it? What happened? It wasn't there. This is gonna
be a thing. And now, at very least the Bengals
they have three and a half hours ago. Well, all right,
we got it and beg got it. We're gonna figure
out way to explain this. Well may be better than
all of our teams, right, yeah, Well Stanley actually stands up.
He may be wrong, but he stands up sala terrible
eber Flus and it's a damn clown show. So let's

(10:34):
see if they're any better. What do you got, Frostburg. Well,
according to Carissa Thompson, guys, they're gonna amputate his hand
and he is questionable to return. Wow, dude, he he's
gonna get a call like like Mark Hamill in Star Wars. No, no, no,
he gets the Bucky Burr, the Bucky of Barnes arm
like Avengers. Yeah, yeah, I get that. You're never knocking
that ball out of his hand. If he has a

(10:54):
big game, Does that get sent to the Hall of Fame? No? No, no,
come on, there's the ionic arm market. Industries can't just
keep making arms. I mean, he's got to keep that
on now. When it comes time for his next upgrade
in the arm, they'll bring that arm to the whole.
Is it genuine vibranium or are we on a test first? No?
I think by this time it's genuine vibranium. Okay, I

(11:16):
mean come on, we can't. I mean the genuine test
vibranium is so like six years doing vibranium and unobtainium.
How terrible are we at naming things. I don't know.
I kind of like vibranium better than Unobtainingum, well sure, unobtainium.
Just you're trying to make it seem like it's a
real story. But here's a wink and a nod. No, no, no,
you have a vibranium because the other side right then
then you have the adamantium for Wolverine. You don't, don't.

(11:38):
We're just following into his story. Starts saking a bunch
of adam ants. Well, there's not many at the room
of the top strip. Oh and then then when he
went decided to go, didn't he go a little bit?
Uh uh swing dancing a little bit. I think he
had a little time with that. But yeah, the other
thing with Baltimore's were also lost Mark Andrews, because that's
a story that's going to go because he got felled

(12:01):
by one of those hip drop tackles right that you
slide down that they try to say they're gonna legislate
what we're supposed to do. Let him go. I can't
get you on my first grip. You know what, I
got a legend keep sprinting, so he's down his ankle,
ankle injury. He's out of the game. So we're watching
the the Ravens adapt. But yeah, the Joe Burrow injury

(12:24):
is something seriously the NFL is going to have to
uh have some answers for at some point. Well, guys,
goods for the Bengals. According to Carissa Thompson, they're gonna
work out Aaron Rodgers tomorrow. Wow. And he's he's good, right,
he can see they can activate him on Monday, Yes
they can. Wow. We get really good up to the minute. Strosburg,

(12:46):
You're really on your game tonight. I'll tell you what
now now allegedly now another true update that that I
got it. It's true. I got it from Steve to
say did Joe Burrow has been officially ruled out for
the rest of this game. So it's the Jake Browning show,
uh for the rest of the night and TJ We're
gonna watch Browning rifle the ball downfield for the rest

(13:07):
of the night. He's gonna try to drive Browning. According
to Thompson, yeah, doubts this joke is gonna go for days.
I'm hearing sources sauces, but I like you trying to
get Browning. Nagel Brown Browning finagally no win for all right.

(13:32):
I've done with Browning, So I think that's it for Brownings.
There's not there's Tom Browning, but too soon, Tom Browning
trying to be perfect like Browning? What okay? Anyway? Uh? Twitter?
And how about a Fresco Miket Swollend. But trust me,
there's your big controversy coming off this game, and we're
gonna be all over it. Later on, did the Bengals
high Joe Burrows injury because he came in clear looked

(13:54):
like he was dinged up. Second player of the game,
second past the game, couldn't grip the football? Hang on
a side? That's your big, big deal? Can you get
an Elizabeth RJ? Barrett Brown? I gotta explain to like
before the Greg generation. What do you doing? Mike? What
are you doing? Tonight's show brought to by Progressive Insurance.

breaking news from Christlotomsky. Yes, I'm getting what reporting right now.
The NFL has just retired at season. They retired. The
entire league is retired. Wow, can you retire a season?
Did the paperwork and everything? Wait? Wait? Wait wait? Did
she talk to a coach who told her that? Yes,
she talked to a little Belichick for that one. Okay,
very good? All right, I want to make sure, all right,

(15:45):
he's out on snapface or anything. Fox Sports Radio, The

The Bengals keeping it close here early in the third quarter,

(16:09):
a field goal megan at twenty one thirteen. Ravens do
have the football. They just got a big run to
put it. I would say, right about a midfield Gus
Edwards with a big run it really it's gonna kill
the Ravens to give the ball to Keeping Mitchell. I mean,
come on, how about you give the ball to a
guy that can run sixty yards for a touchdown so
my fancy team can win so I can beat Michael Fabiano.

(16:32):
I'm not gonna get that, am I'm not gonning? No,
probably not. The Bengals really squandering an opportunity though. They
drew a huge pass interference penalty to get them into
the red zone and then failed, Yeah, from there, setting
up another field goal attempt for McPherson, who they've decided
is super tow anymore. Let's just keep trotting him out
at the matter distance. Let's go just hit him on
the top of the headways makes it. Yeah, you used

(16:53):
to your hand, would be smart and for a while,
just like Joe Burrow as allegedly was. Yeah, Joe Burrow
out for the game wrist injury. Tried to throw the
football second pass of the game, couldn't do it. Tried
to throw on the sideline, couldn't do it. He is
out for the rest of the night. And of course,
the big controversy is going to be did the Bengals
hide Joe Burrow's injury because there was video a day

(17:13):
ago of him coming off the bus getting to the
location for the game he had a rap or some
kind of brace on his wrist. That video was then
magically scrubbed from the Internet, and every time you saw
Joe Burrow after is his wrist was fine. Hey look ma, no,
uh so that's gonna be the big thing sources. See.
This is where Hey, I'm gonna make fun of all
of those sources. My eyes watching that video he had

(17:38):
a brace on his hand. All right, man, you don't
wear those generally. You don't wear those just for fashion.
A coach tell you that, did a coach tell you
at halftime? No? Okay, all right, what man? Guy? You
could say sources on anything. Guys still have their jobs
years later. So where we have with this? Like I said,
this story makes me mad mad, not sports mad, like

(17:59):
the Broncos winning on Monday, which was ridiculous. Guys, Wow,
he's playing. Oh look he's doing the dance. He's doing
the day did his squirrel dance and the powder. Oh
everything looks great. Well, man, just set boomersiasin for a
loss of ten. I'll tell you, Boomer's got to get
rid of the football better than that. He has to.

(18:19):
He has to. I think, you know, Assias, it might
be hurt. I think David Klingler might be coming in
the game. You know, that would have been a big
update from a coach on the sideline interview. You know,
we gotta limit those big negative plays. Oh boy. So
this Carissa Thompson story has taken off, and I'm glad
it has. She did a podcast Barstool Sports, and she

(18:42):
talked about talking about her career in different things being
a sideline reporter for the NFL, and she let slip
something that apparently she talked about a year ago but
nobody picked it up. So podcast, I want to tell
this story again. And this is what member sideline reporter
and when you go down, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Well?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I just talked to so and so and this so
and so and this so and so and this so
and so. This is Carissa Thompson, who is hosting Halftime
and Pregame on Amazon tonight on TNF. This is her
explaining some things that she would do on the sideline
during an NFL game.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
And I've said this before, so I haven't been fired
for saying it, but I'll say it again. I would
make up the report sometimes because a the coach wouldn't
come out at halftime or it was too late, and
I was like, I didn't want to screw up the report.
So I was like I'm just going to make this
up because first of all, no coach is going to
get mad if I say, hey, we need to stop
hurting ourselves. We needed to be better on third down,
we need to stop.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Turning the ball over the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Yeah exactly, and do a better job of getting off
the field. Like they're not going to correct me on that.
I'm like, it's fine, I'll make up the report.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Wow, okay, Wow, there are so many things. When I
heard that, I was so mad because what she's done
is a broken The only rule of journalism that really
is left can't make stuff up. Right. We've seen the
media with everything from sports to politics. There's the only
one rule left that you're gonna get called out on,
and that is you can't make stuff up really right.

(20:09):
You can't make stuff up. You're you're really gonna You're
gonna die on that hill. People make stuff up. But
he gets found out, Wait a bite, where's your source
on this? No, No, you can't make So many of
them have lost their jobs because of it. You can't
make stuff up. And she admits I made up talking
to coaches and when they go down and say, hey,
ready for the second half, let's go down to Carissa Thompson,

(20:29):
who spoke with Jeff Fisher, who spoke with Mike Rabel. Uh.
I talked to Mike Grabel a few moments ago. He said,
they gotta do a better job getting off the field
on third down. They have to find a way to
slow down the running game. And uh, you know it's
gonna be a big second half. Okay, back up to you. Great, great, great.
Not only does she admit that she broke the only
rule of journalism that really matters, because her job is

(20:52):
not to entertain and give opinions. Her job is factual
in what is going on in the game. And she
admits I made conversations. So now this does. I know
that a lot of sideline reporters have weighed in on this,
and I get it, and that's great, But this is
not only sideline reporters. This makes the entire media look
bad because now it looks like, well, media makes stuff up.
We've never had a bigger distrust of the media in

(21:14):
this country than we do right now. And all she
has done is fan those flames to give it oxygen. Well,
I don't know if this story is true. Well, well,
she made up that she talked to a coach. What
happens the next time Jay Glazer or Adam Schefter or
Woes or somebody's got a story that a player doesn't
look good on and the player says, oh no, that's
completely made up. And what are people gonna say, Well, yeah,
that one reporter she admitted making stuff up. Who of

(21:36):
course that's gonna be This is bad for all of us.
This is bad for all of us. But the worst
part of it is that you heard her say, I
told the story before and I didn't get fired, so
I'll tell it again. So basically, she wants the story
out there, whether it's for clicks or attention, she wanted
this story out there. I'm gonna tell the story that
I made up stuff. I'm gonna tell the trust. So
she wanted the story out there. So you want smoke,

(21:58):
you're gonna get it. And third the way, how cavalierly
she says, yeah, no one's gonna get mad at me
for making stuff up. Coaches aren't get mad. It's okay
that I make stuff up. It's okay, just so cavalier,
Like I'm a star. Now I'm a star, I don't
need to worry about stuff like this, I don't care.
They know, nobody cares if I make stuff up.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Wow, So you admit making stuff up and you really
want this story out there and you say, yeah, it's fine,
it's fine that I make stuff up. This has hurt
everybody that does what we do for a living, everybody
top to bottom because of that, and I can't believe
that this is something that actually happens. I can't believe
it happens. And I also can't believe she would let

(22:38):
this secret out there because what she's doing is now
she's hurt. Like I said, she's hurting everybody else. Let's
just take sideline reporters for a while. A lot of
female sideline reporters have weighed in, this is gonna make
our job much more difficult, and they have to defend
what they do for a living, and they all work
very hard. Everybody works hard. I work hard for my
reputation to make sure coaches talk to me and teams
talk to me, and then I go down and instead

(23:00):
now I have to worry about, well, did this really happened?
Did someone really tell me this? What's gone? I have
to worry about this. She just completely blowtorchs the way
for everybody else. She doesn't care. She doesn't care. The
cavalierness about this was what really pissed me off the most.
And if she does lose her job, she lose her job.
But something's gotta happen because you can't just say, yeah,

(23:20):
I'm as a journalist. I made stuff up and I
admitted it, and I get to continue on to do
to do what this is something. There's got to be
some kind of repercussion from this. Yeah, I think it's
it gets back into the fight over the line of
journalism reporting and where a sideline report, because look, they've
been dismissed. Some would argue that for much of the

(23:41):
report reporting that comes off a sideline, there's not a
lot of juice to it. Right, we watched that. So
it's been a constant battle in our media, in society
right as a whole. But take media and branching out,
You've got a lot of jobs, a lot of functions
where you say, all right, is that really necessary? And

(24:02):
for sideline reporting, what what do I need from them?
And I'm looking at the game and perhaps differently than others, right,
because what we're trying to do is broadcast you so
we're grabbing everybody together. Some stuff that might be pretty
basic in terms of a report coming off from you
for you and I might be someone who's new to

(24:22):
the game. It's important you know what the coach had
to say about the example she uses, right, get off
the field, stop shooting ourselves on the foot, whatever INOCU
with stuff. I need injury reports. That that's the piece
I need to trust, right, whether that's going straight to
the booth or it's coming through the sideline reporter vessel, right,

(24:42):
whether it's Chris Myers, whether it's Aaron Andrews, Carissa who
hasn't been on a sideline and forever. Because that's the
other part. You know, she's doing the I got out
because now she's a host. Yeah, like I said, she
doesn't care, right, son, what I need. I don't care
what happened. And that's the word ends justifying the I
don't care what this does to anybody. But I'm a
star now, I don't need to worry about this. I

(25:03):
don't need to worry about this. I'll tell this story
now because I'm doing a podcast and I'm talking to barstool,
who has no rules, so I could just say whatever
because I have to worry about being any respondent or
responsible for anything as barstool doesn't care. They all thought
the story was great. Yeah, yeah, because you know what,
they don't care. They have to worry about journalism all
these things. And by and large, you and I we
don't worry about journalism because our job is to entertain

(25:25):
and inform and give opinions. When we have something that's
a big factual thing, yes we say it because we
have sorts. Hey, this is what's going on. But that's
not our that's not our function here, right, I mean,
but that function of that job. Oh, that's right. Occasionally
you and I we will get a text from someone
who's got a little bit of information. Hey, this isn't right,
and I'm hearing this, so maybe you're you're couching, but

(25:48):
you know, I need a second source or a third
source before before I'm gonna go with that. But in
the moment, you might have a take pause into all right,
let's see how this develops. And we certainly once you
get behind the microphone. In our business on television or radio,
I've long argued that the the J goes to a

(26:10):
lowercase J. If the J stays there at all. Right,
spewing hot take, nonsense opinions is really what we're doing.
And occasionally folks want to dip back in the well
I used to be a journalist working at this newspaper.
Well you don't anymore. And now you're screaming into a microphone.
And you know that line get gets specifically for what

(26:33):
she's doing from that phone. And again the example she
gives is one where that doesn't those kind of things,
whether the coach gives them to you directly or in
this case, you made them up. It's it's captain obvious
kind of stuff. Right, yep, don't turn the ball over
three times like you did in the first half. We
need to stop the negative plays. Penalties are killing us.

(26:55):
I don't need the sideline person to tell me that,
nor or coach speak coming out, but to say that
you fabricated those things that he told you. This. Yeah,
you've really drawn the iron, and deservedly so from an
entire industry of people, you know, cutting their teeth either
at a high school level, college level, minor leads all

(27:17):
the way up through. Everybody's trying to to build their resume,
build their their rolodex. Right, the virtual rolodex that we
have these days on building those relationships and trust and
trying to get to the spot she's at now and
basically said, well, I'm gonna burn all those bridges now
because guess what, you don't need to be factual in

(27:40):
what you're doing, and it's disappointing you what I worked
with her and you are disappointing. It okay to make
stuff up, I mean, because is this something that is
all Look, we're not talking about state secrets. We're not
talking We're talking about something that I'm sure that's not
that big a deal. But you said it's okay to
make stuff up. Oh, I would make stuff up and
I don't really care about it. I mean that that's
what you said, It's okay to make things up. And

(28:00):
since I didn't get fired, be double down. Yeah, because
I want it out there because I want clicks and
I want attention for it, Like, well, did I tell
them that story? But that means you want I was
reading and I haven't listened to the full clip. Did.
She then go back saying, Hey, if you listen to
my podcast, you'll get some other juicy things along the way.
Was it was it just a plug for the podcast
really on a whole other level, going well, you should

(28:23):
have been mad about this a year ago, but since
you weren't, Yeah, but since nobody found out for whatever reason,
because sometimes stories fall through the cracks, and this is
one of the fact. Now, I guarantee you I didn't
hear about this, you and I did, because we would
have talked about this a year ago. We didn't. We
didn't hear about this. This somehow gets out now and
sometimes it goes that way. Whatever the punishment, whatever happens. Yeah,
it's that that's gonna be nothing. She's at the desk today,

(28:46):
she'll be at the desk on Sunday mornings. It's not
going anywhere, Jason. This is this is just so maddening
because she she doesn't. You can tell you she has
to feel bad about it. No, the whole thing doesn't.
Else she would have apologized. This the one thing you're
gonna get. I'll say this now, you're gonna get. It's
gonna be a rule where if you can't get the
coach on camera, you don't come on and say anything.
That's gonna be the first thing, which is what should

(29:06):
have happened right away, because I guarantee. I'll give you this.
I'll give you this guarantee for it. Why did she
do it right? People don't know. Why would you? Why
would you make this up? I guarantee At some point
it's about my job, and I'm worried for my job
because if I can't get the coach on gets one
of my big jobs is to get the coach after halftime.
And if I can't get the coach on camera, my
producer go, that's what what are you doing? What are

(29:28):
you doing it? You can't get them on cara. That's
the other part though, you can't talk to him. Producers
and executive producers. So that's what they're gonna be seen
as complicit in this. They don't know. How do they know?
The producer gonna say they know, Hey, Christ did you
get but she get Did you get Mike Vrabel? No? No,
but I talked to him, was too We couldn't get
him on camera. Okay, we'll go down to you tell
us what he said. That's but that's the next thing.

(29:51):
If the guys from barstool were journalists or competent interviewers, uh,
the follow up would have been all right, where you
at the point where you just went past the producer.
Did you lie to the producers that you talk to them? Yeah,
I mean do with you on the field by those
But that's the thing, right, there's field producers. There's the
guy back in the or a woman back in the truck.

(30:13):
Are they all complicit in the All right, we're gonna
go to you anyway the can because you know, we've
gotten a pretty good Q rating for you, so we're
gonna give you this spot. So so Doc, I mean,
look at look at all the the luminaries in that
business that that have been in for years that really
went after I mean, it's a big deal. Tonight shoe

we still have a twenty seven to thirteen lead for

(31:42):
the Ravens over the Bengals. What more on this game
coming up in a few minutes. The United States is
on the board against Trinidad. Trinidad playing with four sure
they're play Yeah, I'm watching it happen, And a coach
told me that that the United States scored Trinidad playing
with tenton since the thirty seventh minute. It United States
now with eighteen shots. They finally put one in and

(32:05):
they lead Trinidad. Now one nothing. This is Greg Burhalter offense. Boy,
this is fun. Zach Wilson is better on offense than
the United States. You generated a lot of shots. Is
that something you take some solace in? Duh? Did you say,
sala I came? I was pretty nic to see what
you're doing that you said, sala I like to play

(32:26):
with words. But another big story out of football today.
Suddenly the biggest topic for the last month has come
to an end for now as Jim Harball, who was
set to go to court tomorrow and go all Daniel
Cafy few good men and start thundering away jessup about

(32:47):
code reds and stealing signals. Well, everybody found him in
the Judge Judy videos and everything that he was actually
in attendance at one point. This part of the horrible
investigation into the sign stealing scandal is now over. He
has accepted a three game suspension which he has already
served one game at Michigan's gonna play Saturday and probably

(33:07):
gonna get their thousandth win in program history, and he's
not gonna be on the sideline for it. But he
will be able to return for the playoff. He's accepting
this three game ban, and the Big Ten is ceasing
their investigation into the sign stealing scandal. Now, does this
mean there's no more investigation. No, the NCAAA is investigating. However,

(33:28):
with the Big Ten backing out, what's a big takeaway
on this? With a Big Ten backing out, this tells
you that Michigan is free and clear to play all
the way through the end of the season because an
NCAA investigation is gonna go much further. This is where
Michigan has ninety days to respond. So what you're going
to see is still an investigation into this, but it's

(33:48):
gonna be way longer. So Michigan's gonna be able to
play here. They're able to play all the way through
the season, They'll be able to play in the playoff.
They are fine. The road is clear for Michigan to play.
Maybe we can it's something in the off season, but
for now, for the rest of this month, the next month,
we're gonna see him the Big Ten deciding, Ah, Michigan's
gonna probably beat Ohio State, so let's make sure we

(34:09):
get a team in there. This is what happens. This
is what happens, Larry, this is what happens when you
get a leaderless sport try to govern and make a
big decision because there's no leadership in college football. It's
every conference out for themselves. Here's the Big Ten trying
to figure out some controversy and keep everybody happy, and
they can't do it. They biffit by suspending him before
they announce that they have enough evidence, and now they're

(34:31):
just gonna drop it. Now it's just over. It's okay,
and you take the suspension and it's over, and it's
over now. When a leaderless sport tries to govern, you
get ridiculous stuff like this. And this whole thing is ridiculous.
Oh I laughed when I saw it come down the
wire this afternoon, just started chuckling. It's like there's a
couple of pieces to it. First off, that means Michigan's

(34:53):
really confident they're gonna beat Ohio State, or the Big
Ten is confident they're gonna beat Ohio. Wow. I mean,
they've run the numbers, they've done all the simular and
they know they're not gonna get two teams in the
one loss team is probably not gonna get But but
For Michigan, it becomes, you know, the pragmatism, you don't
need them this week, and he's already practiced helping you
with practice and game planning whatever. So now it's just

(35:14):
a matter of going out, uh and the excellence of execution.
So you have that. Uh. The other is you look
at it from the conference side, and again Michigan going
to it and being pragmatic, going you know, normally when
you get into the courts, they're gonna uphold it. You know,
whatever you've signed off on in terms of commissioner responsibilities

(35:37):
and and and abilities to uh, you know, be the
judge jury executioner. Because we saw it in the NFL
many times. Right, I'm gonna fight, I'm gonna appeal, I'm
gonna keep going. Look at the Tom Brady situation. And
then you finally just said out to hell with it.
It's not gonna go our way. But we really strung
it out. And and now we're gonna get PSI readings
from Football's forever more unless we're not nless. Unless people realize, wow,

(36:02):
this is stupid. Nobody cares likewise with this, This is stupid,
and few care and nanty double A is never gonna
do anything with this. They've got no power as it is. Oh,
they're gonna They're gonna have to have some kind of investigation,
some kind of look that. You know, they hate Harball.
If this was anybody else, I would agree with you
and say, yeah, you're probably right, but you know they
hate Harbor, but they want to stick it. They want

(36:23):
to stick it to it. We'll be gone. What are
you gonna do? Vacates and wins when he goes to
the NFL, I'm sure some kind of suspension will follow
because it's happened before when guys have gone from college
of the NFL had to sit out a few games
if you have jack, but this is it. This is
what happened when a leaderless sport tries to govern. You
get the absolute tire fire that this has been. Oh

(36:44):
it's such a joke. Exit out about a Fresco exit
swalling down. The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Carmon Coming up next. More from TNF and more
on why Carissa Thompson would make up reports on the
