Let's give this part. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hello and welcome inside final hour tonight to the Jason
Smith Show with my base friend Mike Harmon, live from
the tire rack dot Com Studios Tirac dot com. I'll
help you get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free roadhazard protection at over ten thousand recommended installers tirac
(00:50):
dot com. The way tire buying should be well, as
you just heard Steve de Seger say, one game left
in the NBA tonight and the Clippers thirty seven seconds away,
seven could be shut up. Could be their first win
with James Harden. Clippers were down four about twenty five
(01:11):
games seconds ago and a couple of steals. James Harden
had a nice little alley you pass. You had a
finger roll from Paul George and the Clippers have a
one hundred to ninety nine lead now, but the Rockets
are going to the free throw line with about thirty
seconds left to go, where they could tie the game
or take the lead again. The Clippers could win their
(01:32):
first game with James Harden or could could they could
fall to oh to six. This is a this is
a tournament games. Once you know it's an end season
tournament game. Will have more in this game coming up
in a few minutes. Meanwhile, elsewhere, we watched the Lakers
tonight because it was a tournament game, and you know
what happens and you say tournament, the Lakers say, yes,
this is what we're here for. We are built for this.
(01:53):
They beat the Blazers one oh seven to ninety five. Harmon,
you didn't quite get your eight Lakers and double figures,
but aross the board. The Lakers played extremely well tonight,
and again, more often than not, what we're getting the
last few nights is glimpses of who the Lakers can be.
They need their support guys to come through and when
they can, when they do, this is who they are. Yes,
(02:15):
the Blazers aren't any good, but when the Lakers are good.
They need to get a little bit of confidence and
a little bit of Hey, now everybody knows their role, right.
They're still waiting for Jared Varnderbilt to come back, but
now they figured out Austin Reeves off the bench. Cam
Reddish is in the starting lineup and he's played pretty
well so far. They're starting to figure things out a
(02:36):
little bit, and they're not reliant completely on Ad and Lebrono.
The lebron had thirty five, nine and five tonight, but
you're still getting enough. You know, Christian Wood had a
night tonight ten and ten off the bench. So now
that they're starting to get there, they figured out their roles, right,
Spend some time. I told you they needed some time.
Give the Lakers a little bit of time to figure
out where these spot these players go. They're a very
deep team. They're gonna start winning some game, to start
(02:59):
stacking wins. I know it's the Blazers, but seeing this
I see a lot of good things from the Lakers
more often than not. The last few.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Nights, twelve point win, they go to seven and six
on the year, get that elusive road win. Now two
and five, they're beating up on a Blazers squad now
three and nine, But the balance is there, Anthony Davis.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I think that's you.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Know, he's one of the most interesting players now in
the NBA. I don't know that there's anything the guy
can do to prove anything one way or the other.
You feel about him, however you feel about him. Sixteen points,
fourteen boards, five blocks, did have six turnovers, but played
thirty five minutes. Lebron played thirty five minutes. Again, that's
(03:44):
not what you want in terms of minutes. You'd like
those a little bit lower, but hey, take the wins.
It is an end season tournament game, and they all
would like an extra five hundred thousand.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Dollars, So let's not kid ourselves.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I think one of the curiosities, though Jason is with
thes as much as they may be finding their roles.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
The question is how long do they get to keep
those roles?
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Right, because every day you're inundated with a litany of
players being photoshopped in the Lakers uniform, several of them
from the Chicago Bulls.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
But I think it's all three of your guys, not
just Zach Lavine anymore.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
You know, exact buddy one of these. It's gonna be
a uh, you know, a three guard Moni thing. Whatever
you pick up, that's what you get.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Well, zach Lavine did say no the Knicks, so they're
out of it.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
That's what we don't need zach Lavine. We're gonna get Joellenble.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
You don't need it.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
We don't need zach Lavine. No, no, we were going
to get Joel and be because eventually the Sixers are
gonna be No, they're gonna start losing and it's gonna
get a little bit more difficult, and that's when he's
gonna get traded. That's how it's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, Leavin thirty four and six tonight in a Bowls
six point home loss.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
And immediately after the game, instead of talking about narrow
losses or the efforts of you know, Caruso with his
at or what you're getting from these different players in
big moments, or Vucevich having his issues four of sixteen, Nah,
every guy had to answer the is it a distraction
(05:11):
to be talking about zach Lavine in a Lakers uniform
every five minutes?
Speaker 4 (05:18):
No? No, no, that's not just say we take it
one game at a time. All of that No, it's
it's a.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Mess exit out about a Fresca exit Swelling Dome. The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon live
from the Tirech dot Com Studios. I will update that
Clipper Rocket game coming up in a couple of minutes.
But the big NFL news of the day Joe Burrow
done for the season. I woke up. It was kind
(05:43):
of a shock today. I thought, hey, Okay, you know,
did sprain rist He's going to be out, you know,
ten days before their next game. Nope, he has done
for the rest of the season. His twenty twenty three
year is over. The last pass he threw us for
a touchdown, at least he ended on a touchdown. This
happened sometime during the first half before he threw the touchdown,
(06:04):
potentially on the play before he threw the touchdown where
he got hit by Jadavian Clowney. It's a torn ligament
in his right wrist. It's an acute injury. Burrow said.
It's tough. You work so hard for seasons and moments
like this. Now they're gonna go on without him the
rest of the way. And yes, there's going to be
an inquiry by the NFL because they're gonna say, wait
(06:25):
a minute, he had some kind of wrap on his
wrist before before the game on the bus. That video
disappeared off the internet. What's going on? And there's gonna
be an inquest into this and that's not gonna be
great for the Bengals. But the big thing coming out
of this Mike, And I've seen a lot of this
today in you know, here's another quarterback who is now
out for the year, right, Burrow's out for the year,
(06:47):
Anthony Richardson's out for the year, Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins,
Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers till he comes back on Black Friday.
And so he's been out a while. And I've seen
a lot today of Hey, we got to protect the quarterback, right.
Quarterbacks have to be able to play, and when you
have guys like this out for the year, it's no good.
Maybe you don't play Thursday nights, maybe there's extra bye weeks.
(07:10):
You can only do so much, right, This is not
the NBA, where, hey, how about we stop having back
to backs right now? How about we do that, because
that's ridiculously stupid. But there's only so much you can
do because it's tackle football and quarterbacks getting quarterbacks are
you could change fields, You can do anything you want to.
But guys are gonna get hurt. Some years, guys are
gonna get dinged up more than others. Other years we're
(07:30):
gonna be Hey, quarterbacks have been healthy all the way through,
but injuries are gonna happen. Look Joe Burrow, look at
the guy. Can you say he's injury prone or is
he just someone who Hey, when you get hit hard,
guess what you suffer injuries? Right, he had the torn
acl he had the calf injury. Okay, that's something in camp,
but this is something that was getting banged about. It's
gonna happen. Teams now are gonna adjust this way because
(07:52):
these are all teams that had big time hopes this year, right,
the Jets with Rogers and the Bengals thinking we can
get back to the super Bowl. The Giants thought they
were gonna be great, the Vikings with Kirk Cousins. The
Browns were excited for Deshaun watsonbody was gonna be in
his first full year as a starter, and they've watched
their season potentially go down the drain. The only way
to fix this, the best way to fix this, this
is how This is how teams are gonna react in
(08:13):
the offseason. Is they are going to say, all right,
we can't have our year go down the tubes. Can't
do it. Can't have our year go down the tubes
and our quarterback gets hurt. Let's overpay for a backup
and lock them in for the next two to three years.
And you're gonna see backup quarterbacks get north of ten
million dollars a year. Good backup quarterbacks, not just guys.
(08:34):
You're gonna get good backup quarterbacks to come in and
are going to sign for a little bit over more
than ten million a year for two to three years,
because you have to. You have to be able to say,
if you get hurt, we have to go to somebody
where are season's not over, and you're gonna find a
fertile market for that, because there's gonna be guys who
instead of saying, well, I could go somewhere here and
(08:55):
maybe compete for the number one job, or I go
to a good team in a good situation, I get
paid and I'll probably see the field at some point. Yeah,
quarterbacks are gonna choose that especially a guy like Baker
Mayfield is gonna choose that instead of hopping around the
league trying to start from year to year. Right, Mayfield's
gonna do it. Mac Jones will do it. Probably Jordan
Love after this year. Jimmy Garoppolo will be one of
those guys. Kenny Pickett might be one of those guys
(09:17):
after this year, after everybody finds out how bad he's stinks,
and well, but he's started the league for a little while.
You're a backup for a reason, and you know that's
why you're not someone to come in. It's gonna like
the world on fire, but you're someone who, hey, if
we come in, we can't just go and lose games.
There's someone who has started before and can pilot an
offense and can help us win. Because that's the problem
(09:38):
with all these teams. I mean, Joe Burrow, the Bengals,
they don't have a backup, right, the same thing the
Jets stuck with Zach Wilson. Okay, Daniel Jones's backup is
that Tommy DeVito, the guy couldn't make it at Syracuse
and he had to go to Illinois the rest of
the way, Right, Kirk Cousins. The Viking said, we don't
even have anybody on the team. We gotta go get
a guy before the deadline, all right, Deshaun Watson. We
don't have a guy. We're trying out Joe Flacco right now.
(10:01):
Teams are gonna look at this and say, we can't
have this next year. We can't have a young, up
and coming guy. We have to go get a backup
that is a solid guy for two or three years.
He knows his role and he comes in. And I
really do believe that a lot of these guys that
have bounced around the league instead of trying to go, hey,
I'm here for a year, I'm here for a year.
I'm here for you. I've started for a while. I
(10:22):
want to go someplace. My family wants to go someplace,
and I want to keep moving everybody around. I go
two or three years here, I get thirty million dollars
guaranteed I'll get to play at some point, and that'll
be cool. But you know, I'm looking for a little
more quality of life, and I want to be in
a situation where I can win and not a situation
where I'm just going to lose and I'm gonna go
in and try to start in a bad team. So
(10:42):
you're gonna see guys like this say, yeah, yeah, I'll
take I'll take these few meal to back up Patrick
Mahomes in Kansas City, or to back up Josh Allen
in Buffalo or wherever you want to talk about where
the big quarterbacks are. I think you're gonna see that
going on, and teams are gonna say, we're gonna make
you take this because we're gonna pay you really, really well,
better than any backup's ever been paid in the history
of the game.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
I think the only way that works is if we get.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
The the immodest proposal that we've seen, the indecent proposal
of all right, salary caps are now by position, so
now you can work that out position by position instead
of all right, everything goes under the hard cap, because
to pay for that backup quarterback in your scenario, is
(11:26):
the other guy taking less money. Hell no, So now
we're talking about committing a monstrous amount of your salary cap.
And I get it. It seems like it's really good practice.
Unless your quarterback stays healthy. Then it's ten billion dollars
of a guy in a ball cap in the last
five years eight eleven, thirteen, twelve, sixteen, that's the number
(11:48):
of quarterbacks that went pillar to post. And I remember,
when we were really hammering down and I was writing
a lot of fantasy columns. You basically had the Mannings,
you had Brady, most years you had Phil and Breeze,
and then it was a all right, which are the
other five that come in as a every game played
(12:10):
quarterback for that year. I think it really comes down to,
you know, just from the salary cap perspective. Now, if
the salary cap jumps again, as it's predicted to right
these next couple of years, then sure maybe you can say,
all right, a number of teams are gonna allocate all
of those.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Bounces to backup quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
But riddle me this, batman, how many teams, legitimately, how
many legitimate quarterbacks are there as starters, let alone guys
to go back up somewhere? And you say, I feel
really good about him. Look at what we're doing here.
He got guys off the scrap heap. What's he been
doing chopping wood? What's that guy been doing hunting? How
(12:49):
about that guy sitting on his ass and waiting for
his opportunity waiting for the phone to ring for one
more injury.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
He's ready, he's primed. He's in the best pape of
his life. Exit.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
How about a Fresca exit swollen Dome. The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Carmon live from the tire Reck dot
Com Studios. That's gonna try. That's gonna be how contending
teams say. This is how we're gonna handle the quarterback position,
and it and and many other teams will follow it.
It's the only way. It's the only Okay, let's make
sure we have another guy because again tackle football. Uh.
James Harden just hit a three and the foul with
(13:26):
about six seconds left to go, and the Clippers beat
the Rockets one oh four to one hundred. Congratulations to
the Clippers. They get their first win with James Harden.
It's a Friday night in La Baby. Let's go coming
up next, we head to Vegas. I mean, I know
they're getting ready for Formula one, but we head to Vegas.
(13:47):
They hit all the big update, well allegedly they go
everything's at midnight, so I keep saying it's coming up
at midnight, coming in. Uh, we get all the updates
and previews you need for the big action in college
football tomorrow the NFL on Sunday. Where's the big money going?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with Mo My
Best Friend Mike Harmon live from the Tie iraq dot
com studios, where the party is on at the Crypt.
The Clippers win their first game with James Harden. Harden
hits a three and draws a ridiculous foul four point
(15:17):
play breaks a tie. Clippers win it one oh four
to one hundred over the Rockets. Look at this, Look
at the Clippers, Look at the Clippers. I would say,
look at the Colorado Buffaloes, but you probably don't want to.
There are still two and a half minutes to go
in the third quarter. In the third quarter, Washington State
(15:37):
leads Colorado fifty six to seven. This will be a
non bowl season for Colorado getting boat raced by one
of the remaining Pac two schools.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
I thought Washington State was playing the Jets.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
No, come on, hen they would swore this many points.
Our defense is good. They would only get about thirteen
or sixteen. We wouldn't score, but they would only get
about thirteen or sixteen with us now in the for
all the latest news, all the latest breakdown of the
games tomorrow in college football NFL Week eleven on Sunday.
Long time Vegas insider, former odds maker at Caesars Check
them out on the Bet the Board podcast on CBS,
(16:14):
And I'm sure he's got some kind of odds whether
or not Formula one practice and qualifying will actually go
off tonight in Vegas at midnight. It is Todd Furman, Todd, Todd,
what's the over under on bad manholes?
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Fingers crossed?
Speaker 6 (16:29):
That everything was rectified last night, that for one, community
hasn't exactly endeared themselves to the fans that paid top
dollar for that experience, clearly getting a second practice session
off about two and a half hours after expectation, and
then of course telling the fans, hey, look, this has
been fun, but you guys can't be anywhere near the track.
Let's hope things go a little bit smoother for night two,
(16:49):
with p three and qualifying slated for later this evening.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
You know, Todd, the funny thing is we've heard all
along that, hey, this Formula one event is going to
be more money for Vegas than the super Bowl. It's
so much, it's so incredible, it's such a huge level
of interest. Is it still that way? Are you still
seeing that as it still? Are the are the are
the the hotels packed? Is everybody raking money and hand
over fist on this or what.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
It's still a little bit to be determined when you
look at an event to this magnitude, so much the
casino success and the way they'll determine it. This weekend
is worthwhile, is what they do in gaming revenue, And
you don't know until the dust settles on a particular weekend.
But you look at the amount of private jets that
are here and some of the sweet product that's been
taken off the market, it has attracted an upper rational
on crowd. It's not going to be the same necessarily
(17:35):
volume of travelers that you'll get for the Super Bowl
in the middle of February, but you know, judgment is
still out there in terms of the overall economic impact
of the event like.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
This tod as we get ready to look at the
slate tomorrow, you know, before we even get to that Michigan,
all the fun and excitement of Jim Harbaugh, the national
title odds and any change at the top with the
new rankings and what we've seen going down.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
No movement there. When you look at the Wolverines, I
mean they project out his favorites against every team in
college football right now, with or without their head coach
nearly a three touchdown shalk this weekend for the trip
to College Park against Maryland, and then should the numbers
hold and Ohio State and Michigan meet his undefeated teams
on Thanksgiving weekend, you'd be looking at Michigan in that
five and a half six range. So the Wolverines very
(18:21):
much everything to play for in front of them, regardless
of who will be the man on the sidelines calling
the shots for the next two games until coach Harbaugh
returns from that suspension.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Todd, what if I'm coaching the team? What if I
get to coach the.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Team will If you've instituted a game plan from Monday,
then it's a little bit of a different story. But
if coach Harbaugh is doing the heavy lifting Monday through
Friday and then you're out there on the iPad trying
to avoid Candy crush figuring out what play you need
to get into. JJ McCarthy, I mean it remains to
be seen if Michigan could go out there and lose
outright to Maryland.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Yeah, how much.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
A second second, If I'm not playing Candy crush Man,
it is either so surfer or it. But I am
not playing I'm not or I'm doing one of the
New York Times puzzles. I'm doing Connections. I am not
doing Candy crush Man. Come on, don't tag me with that.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
I'm glad that you've officially gone on record then, so
I don't want to group you in unfairly with some
of those other more mindless games that you can take
advantage of on technology.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
To that end, let's move away from Smith's proficiency and
whatever the hell he does with his phone into the
games for tomorrow. Is there is there any game where
you're excitable about a top twenty five upset.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
I'm not sure I'd go that far. I think the
most intriguing game, though, will be what's taking place at
Research Stadium up there in Corvallas, where Washington puts their
undefeated record on the line against the Beaver team that's
been very difficult to knock off in their own building.
You have to go all the way back to last
year's game against USC to find the last time that
Jonathan Smith's bunch has lost in their own building. One
of the tougher tickets to get in the Pacific Northwest,
(19:54):
and when you look at Oregon State, if they're able
to win tomorrow and when a week from Friday, you're
looking at it team that controls its own destiny to
get into the Pac twelve Championship. So I think Oregon
State Washington should be the most interesting game of the
day with massive national championship implications if Oregon State can
knock Washington from the playoff Chase.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Tod do you guys talk about how weird it is
that there's been no chaos this year in college football.
I mean there's been none. We've had good games at
the Cup, but there's been no Hey, here's an upset
that can change everything. There's been none of that this year.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
I mean, typically we get one weekend where it feels
like everything gets shoved together. So whether it's tomorrow, where
at least on paper, the games don't look to be
all that intriguing, or next weekend a rivalry weekend, if
it's a Washington State knocking off Washington or Oregon State
getting the better of Oregon. You know, Alabama going on
the road. It seems the Iron Bowl a heck of
a lot more interesting and alternating years when they play
(20:47):
at Jordan Hair, Georgia, maybe a team on upset alert
tomorrow I mean, Tennessee can't be worse than what we
saw last weekend against Missouri, and it was only a
season ago where the balls were able to knock off Alabama.
So I think still think we're in store for upset
or too. It's just a question of where do they
find themselves in the college football landscape, and have to
imagine all ranked teams should be wary even if they're
(21:07):
taking on inferior foes to close out the regular season.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Todd shifting to the NFL, we were getting all excited
about the Bengals ahead of Sunday, while they lose Tyler
Boyd can't bring a ball in and then now Joe
Burrow done for the year. Who's the team with the
lease warts? According to the betting industry right now, when
we look at the AFC.
Speaker 6 (21:28):
I mean, a lot of people wanted to buy into
the Baltimore Ravens and you can understand why when you
look at how complete some of their efforts have been,
especially when they take on the better teams in the NFC.
But replacing the talent of Mark Andrews and what he
means to this Baltimore Ravens offense, I think is going
to be a very difficult uphill battle. So until further notice. Look,
Kansas City is champions for a reason, and while everyone
(21:48):
can panic about their offense, don't look now. It's arguably
one of the best defenses in the NFL. And as
far as what they've done from a scoring standpoint, Andy
Reid hasn't had a defense this good since he was
in Philadelphia. And if you trust homes to figure things
out with a young room of wide receivers, the road
to the AFC Championship still goes through hair ahead in
my opinion, until further notice.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
All right, tol, what about Monday night? Does the road
go through our head for a win for Kansas City
or do the Eagles win it on the road?
Speaker 6 (22:15):
The number I think is fair. We've seen the price
leak out to three and there was an appetite for
Philadelphia Eagles tickets to come in. You look at Kansas
City and what Andy Reid has done off the buy
the numbers don't lie, and sometimes a lot of the
stuff is narrative driven, but he comes up with unique
ways to attack a defense in space. I think Philadelphia
still has some question marks that they have to answer,
(22:36):
specifically in the defensive backfield. So for me, I think
Kansas City comes out with a good game plan early
on in the game, and from a wagering standpoint, I'm
not running the lay two and a half. I think
the numbers of fair reflection of where these two teams are.
I'd be looking at Kansas City in the first half.
I think they can take a lead into the break.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Now, one of my favorite tweets of the day was
you were musing about Mike Tomlin and maybe a deal
at the crossroads with Devil with what's going on in
the AFC North now adding a matchup this week with
dtr instead of Deshaun Watson narrow road underdogs. But are
(23:11):
they the Iowa Hawkkeuys or the Pittsburgh Steelers this week
in this matchup since we're at thirty two for an
over hundred oh.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
Look, the Steelers have done a tremendous job of forcing
turnovers from their defense and making sure they do everything
they can to protect the football. We know they're going
to be limited with offensive capabilities. I mean, George Pickens
really hasn't done much, but I think part of that's
by design is the offense has tried to mitigate some
of the risks, but against the defense like this as
they struggled with early in the year, I don't think
(23:39):
you can always roll high on the defense, scoring not
once but twice, you're creating short fields. Cleveland's path is
all going to be about keeping the score low, leaning
on dtr to run the football, getting forward going like
they did last week against the Ravens, and hoping their
defense can be the one to create a shortfielder too.
So fascinating matchup, and obviously the stakes get ratchet up
in this AFC North tilting what the Bengals are now
(24:01):
dealing with Joe Burrow being shelled for the remainder of
the season and Jake Browning taking over under center?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
All right, Todd? Lastly, because every day it seems like
it changes, there's a new leader for show. Hey Otani,
maybe it's the Dodgers now. The Angels could be getting
back in the mix. Now the Giants were seeing the
Cubs are jumping in. What are you seeing right now?
As far as what happens with Otani over the course
the next couple of.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Months, you know Dodgers are the favorite, but look, I mean,
this is a Dodgers team, who I don't think is
hurting for offense in any capacity. And knowing the show Hey,
he's not going to be able to contribute on the mound.
They have to figure out how they're going to fortify
that pitching staff that was really a mash unit going
into the playoffs this year. So show Hey down the road. Look,
he may be able to be at top of the
rotation type starter, but the Dodgers don't struggle to try
(24:45):
and produce runs. If you're talking about selling seats. Look,
show Hay is going to do a tremendous job, as
he continues to do getting Japanese fans into the game.
But I think the Giants make an awful lot of
sense as well. And we'll see how aggressive the Cubs
truly are. They have said they want to go out
there build up their roster a little bit, but the
Dodgers remain the favorite at a shade better than even
(25:06):
money at a lot of off shots.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Sean real quick per Charissa Thompson, show he's actually retiring, well.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
I mean that's always a distinct possibility. I mean I've
also heard that instead of Tommy John he may have
his arm amputated from the elbow and down, so we'll
have to wait for the coaching staff to weigh in
and get some of the information first and foremost from them.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
He is armed man in Las Vegas. Todd Ferban. He's
on Twitter at Todd Ferban. That is at Todd Ferban.
He will also be repairing every manhole that comes unglued
so f one can get going in a couple hours.
Todd is always buddy appreciated. Joy the race this weekend.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
We'll talk to you and they meet me out there
with the Phillips said, I'm there guy. That's about the
extensive tools. I let's go being able to hurt myself.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
See, you're the best.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Todd. Thanks the Jason Smith Show, if Mike Harmon Livethtirack
dot com Studios. We got more coming up in a
couple of minutes. We're gonna play the Carrissa Thompson game,
all right, So I promise we'd have the Carissa Thompson game.
And Dustin Frostberg has done an incredible job finding a
couple of Carissa Thompson in game reports back when she
was a sideline reporter. And we are going to play
(26:14):
that game coming up next because Chrissa Thompson had an
apology today that ended up not really solving anything, following
her statement a day ago that I used to make
stuff up when I was on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
But no, no, I really didn't.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
So we have that game coming up next. But just
really quick, you just heard Steve give the score fifty
six to seven, Washington State leading Colorado in the fourth quarter.
What's gonna be the most fascinating story out of college
football this offseason? What's the narrative gonna be for Colorado?
Will it be hey, they won, they won four games,
are coming off a one loss season, They got a
(26:49):
bunch of energy, and everything is new and things are
great in Colorado? Or is it gonna be wow, we
got lucky to win a couple of games, and TCU
wasn't that good. And I'm just looking how we giving
up forty six and fifty six and we're in fifty
six and forty eight points and we're losing to everybody.
We're getting drubbed. Like's the what's the narrative gonna be
going into next year? That's gonna be absolutely fascinating.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Well, the other is, how did you let your son
stay out there and get absolutely bludgeoned time and time
and time again, especially as this game got out of hand.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Fifty six to seven again and Shoudarra Sanders leaving this
game with an injury the second or third time the
left game with injury this season. So we'll have all
this and more coming up next again, We're going to
play the Chris of Thompson game. We'll give your upset
special picks for this week in the NFL, and.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
Gonna play the night.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Fact, justin Frostburg, Laker fan extraordinaire doing the right thing,
because there really is only one play of the nights.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Pardon this is for the lead.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Tut it out a foul. Oh my goodness, Ballely Sports
on the call. James Harden three. He hit the free throw.
The Clippers figured out the last minute of the game tonight,
which was really impressive because of all the problems they had.
What have we said, if you can if they can
(29:20):
figure out the last couple of minutes when the game's tight,
things will get I'm figuring out did they were able
to fight James Harden found the open, guys, they were
able to make their plays one on one. Paul George
got to the basket. Kawhi let it out a big game.
The Clippers kind of figured it out, Mike, They kind
of figured it out.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Well, at least for one day.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
We can all be heroes, you know, the upstart Rockets
and everything else. But you know, you look at the
Clippers in a tournament game of which they've already been eliminated,
they still showed their tremendous professional heart by coming up
with a big effort. And isn't inappropriate that the first
win in the James Hardened era is one of these.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Eh three, oh and the fall James Harden don't go
to the line. It just seems so almost according to
script right there.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Well, guys, there was a little drama though there was
What was there? Russell Westbrook did not talk post game
after only dropping eight points in seventeen minutes, and I thought.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
He was happy going to the bench.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
He said, said he was gonna be good. I'm coming
off the bench.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
It's all gone, by the way.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
That's the answer, guys, of figuring out the final minute.
Westbrook not on the court.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
There is something to that Steve with to drop the mic.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
He's going home, you know the uh the other part
always did James Harden address where the after party is
in his post game.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
Yeah, it's not your house, Mike.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Oh, let's go.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
Uh Now, let's play the Chris of Thompson game. So
it was yesterday. CHRISTO Thompson did a podcast with Barstool
Sports and said I used to make up reports on
the air when I couldn't get a coach and talked
to me at halftime. Became a really big story. She
put out a state today saying, hey, my you know
things got misconstrued. I never lied about anything. Okay, not
(31:05):
really an apology. Not worried about the sports world and
the people's jobs. She lit on fire when she said
what she said a day ago. So she does just
moving on. She's done. So we're gonna play the CHRISA.
Thompson game. Justin Frossberg has found a report from Carissa
Thompson from a few years ago when she was a
sideline reporter, and we're gonna see if this is a
real report or did she make it up and didn't
(31:28):
talk to the coaches. Playing as myself, Mike Harmon Steve Desager,
Alex Tischer Frosberg, you found it. Let's go that.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
John Gilmore and Gilmore looks to have stretched for the
first down.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Let's go down to Carrissa Thompson.
Speaker 8 (31:42):
Well speaking to both coaches at half time, for coach
crud And, he said, the Chiefs have been able to run.
Speaker 9 (31:46):
Bro They've mixed it up, They've been able to do
whatever they want. We have to play better foot off.
For her Edwards, he says, with this young group, we
got to keep their focus. They're playing with great energy
and we got to avoid giving up that big play.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Both coaches guys, both coaches again, both coaches found both coaches,
I got country and Western. I'm gonna hmm, I'm gonna
borrow from Mike Harmon from the last one and say
one is true and one is not. I'm gonna say
the the cheeks, so that's from a Raiders Chiefs game
(32:22):
when Herm Edwards was coaching the Chiefs. I'm gonna say
the Herm Edwards one was real because it was pretty Hey,
he said, you know, so it was pretty. It seemed
like that that had a lot of things that Herm
Edwards would have said actually said, I think the Gruden
part was made up. That sounds like something that Gruden
after the game would say, yeah, yeah, yeah, fine, I agree.
We have to do this. We have to do this.
(32:43):
So I'm gonna say Gruden's made up and Herm Edwards
is real.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Okay, yeah, you stole my move. I was going fifty
to fifty ball there as well.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
I'll say both, But the Herm Edwards could have been
said at the meeting a.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
Couple of days before, stink outside the box.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
And hang on Steve. Oh, I didn't think about that.
You could have got that from the.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Steve.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Steve, you got all now you got wall.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Steve got his head all turned around, Steve O you
know what his brain right there?
Speaker 5 (33:19):
Like quarterback.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
I'm gonna change my answer. Both are false. Both are false.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
Are you sure?
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Answer yes?
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Final answer right.
Speaker 10 (33:33):
So this is a simple one, guys. You could see
the mustard stand the bottom left of her chin. She
was finishing up a hot dog rather than talking to
the coaches. Those were both made up in fabricated shout
outs to Carissa.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Hey, you can't fault a good strategy. It worked right,
all right?
Speaker 5 (33:52):
Well, guys, neither one of them is real. Boom, there's
a mustard stand telling.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I'm so glad I changed my answer. I'm so glad
I changed my answer.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Was it a yellow mustard?
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Or yoh?
Speaker 5 (34:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
All right, do you have another one? Frostburg? We do
another one?
Speaker 5 (34:13):
Oh, let's try and get one more in here, guys.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
All right, let's try it again.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Let's go intended for Greg Jennings. Let's go down to
Chrissa Thompson.
Speaker 8 (34:20):
Well, guy's catching up with both coaches at halftime. For
coach del Rio, as you might imagine, it's all about
getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers. He said he liked the
game plan that they had headed in. They just done
a poor job of executing it offensively. They have to
be more aggressive. For coach McCarthy, on the other hand,
you guys, he was so adamant about a communication breakdown.
We saw that right before the half with Finley. He said,
a headset actually broke. It's all about communication on the
(34:41):
Packer's side, all.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Right, I'm gonna say that the fact that he was adamant,
that Mike McCarthy was ad was this is a Raiders
Packers game. That he was adamant about what happened in
the communication breakdown. I'm gonna say that's real. I'm gonna
say that part's real.
Speaker 5 (35:01):
You sure.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
I'm also gonna say the first part is real because
it's it sounds like she was pretty insistent on on
on what was specifically said that if it came back
after the game the coach didn't say it, they could
have been an issue. So I'm gonna say both of
them are real. Oh do you think Jack del Rio
would care?
Speaker 3 (35:22):
I mean, that's truly what it comes down to, like
if it had been fabricated, would he care?
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Okay, I mean he seemed like a bit of a
chat ass at times, so yeah, I could get along
with the true true report coming out of here.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Okay, I thought she said Richard Todd is coming back
in the game. I'm not sure if I.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
And his hair was perfect, I'll say both.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Joe Walton said he's gotta stop throwing interceptions to AJ Dewey.
So that's what we gotta deal with the second half here.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
You know, it was the Jets who once had the
television game with no announcers at all that would have
cured this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
It was Jet's Dolphins. I remember watching that.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
You don't need at.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
All, right for tyshirt? What do you got?
Speaker 10 (36:08):
Okay again, you guys are thinking way too hard. The
guy intros her talking about Greg Jennings. She totally over
asserts it doesn't even talk about the guy because simply
she is not paying attention. She is busy with another
jjon Mustard hot Dog.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
This was both fake as well.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
All right, Frozburg, what is it?
Speaker 5 (36:24):
Well? Guys, both fake.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Fire? Oh Twitter and ow about a Fresco. My gets
swollen dope? Oh I had that first one. Noah, I
am all right real quick, harm. What do you got
your upset specials this week in the NFL? Who do
you have?
Speaker 10 (36:47):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
I got the Steelers over the Browns and then Arizona
on the road at the Planet Houston.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
I'll take the Rams in two over Seattle and give
me the Vikings and Josh Dobbs over Denver in Bernie
Friddles next Fox
