update on the biggest sports story the last twenty four hours.
(00:52):
But first, Colorado continues to steam towards a non Bowl season.
Right now, I know you forget right. Earlier in the year,
it was I'm watching Colorado. I already haven't set on
my dvar. I'm sitting on my couch. I'm not missing it. Yeah,
they're playing tonight, They're playing Washington State one of the
pack two five point fourteen to go. In the first quarter,
(01:14):
it is already Washington State fourteen, Colorado nothing. They will
fall to four and seven and that's it for your
Bowl hopes for Colorado. With a loss tonight. Chadur Sanders
is three out of three for twenty nine yards. But
Washington State's gotten on the board with a couple of
touchdowns so far. Again, midway through the first quarter, it
is already fourteen nothing. Schadur Sanders was sacked and it
(01:39):
was a fumble recovered in the end zone that gave
Washington State their second touchdown. Lincoln Victor with a touchdown
run that made it seven to nothing. And boy, it
just feels like it was yesterday where where all we
could talk about was Colorado and now here we are
and it's like, oh man, ooh oh, by the way,
look what's going on with Colorado? Ooh man?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
This is ugly well but think about it, right, Three
stories that that really over the last year or some of.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
The biggest in sports.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
And and tow her head to head when we talk
about Angel Reese right bench now, Kim Moulke, she's not here, Okay,
beat it.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Stop asking me questions after getting.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Ben Moms and moms are going back and forth on
each other on Twitter. Yeah, no, you had the mom
of one of LSU's players going at Angel Reese's mom
on Twitter about Angel Reese's g p A. L s
U is just a tire fire, right, how many.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Who God nicely done? We gonna slide that in.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
So he's got problems, man, don't be tagging them with that.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Come on trying to add you know, he just hasd
he says allegedly, or there's certain media members you could
attribute that report to look for Angel Reese. She got
benched and then she didn't show up and then yesterday
Iowa loses the game. Caitlin Clark goes nine to thirty
two from the field. Know, add Colorado to that. Those
are some of the biggest stories in sports, right, big
(03:05):
push through for women's basketball, and now you know a
bit of chaos to start the season and unrest and
all of that, trying to figure out what what cause
causation of all that. And then yeah, the Colorado football team,
they'll still get invited to a bowl, right, and then
James Madison will be mad.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, yeah, maybe they'll play James Madison. Why don't we
do that? I think the game that nobody wants. These
teams can't make it. We feel bad, so let's have
them play each other. Colorado James Madison, why not? I
watch I watched Colorado j Come on, I'd see that
in a second. Of course, I'll just really quick, I think.
I gotta say I really like the fact that this
back and forth that GPAs are being brought up. There's
(03:47):
never been any college war at all about even Auburn, Alabama, Michigan,
Ohio State. No one ever brings up what someone's GPA is.
This is like new stuff. Man, Hey, here's here's what
your kids GPA. It's like, Wow, really gonna go with
GPAs and sports? Oh man, come on, that's that's not
that's not cool. Man, can't go GPAs with athletes? What
are you trying to do? What are you really trying
(04:08):
to do that?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
And then Reese's mom can come back with the Giants
sign with the commas and and totals from the nil
money who uh and everything that was done this off.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Here's her from Sports Illustrated. Here's her from the other
issue with Sports Illustrated. Here's all the money she's made
in the last few months. Here's what I got. What
else you want? What else you want?
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Stop being petty, fake and hateful and take responsibility for
you and your daughter's actions.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
LSU is just insane. But speaking of insanity, we had
an update on the Carissa Thompson story from a day ago,
the biggest story in sports. Fox Reporter Amazon host CHRISA. Thompson,
former sideline reporter for the NFL, did a podcast with
Barstool Sports and gave a quote that has been spreading
(04:54):
across the country so incredibly quickly. Everybody has seeing it,
everybody has an opinion on it. This was her from
the podcast saying that when she was on the sideline,
if she couldn't get a coach to talk to her
coming out of the tunnel at halftime, she would make
up what the coach would say.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
And I've said this before, so I haven't been fired
for saying it, but I'll say it again.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
I would make up.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
The report sometimes because a the coach wouldn't come out
at halftime or it was too late, and I was like,
I didn't want to screw up the report, so I
was like, I'm just going to make this up, because,
first of all, no coach is going to get mad
if I say, hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
We needed to be better on third down.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
We need to stop turning the ball over the quarterback.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah, exactly, and do a better job of getting off
the field. Like they're not going to correct me on that.
I'm like, it's fine, I'll make up the report, okay.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
So breaking the number one rule of journalism making stuff up, Okay,
being cavalier about it. I don't, the coaches aren't. No
one's going to care if I make stuff up. Okay. Great.
And the fact that she wanted this story out there
because she said, I've told the story before and haven't
gotten fired. It means I haven't gotten attentions. Let me
tell it again. So we talked a lot about it
last night, and now here's where the other shoe drops
(06:01):
on it. Today. She addressed it with a post on Instagram.
I'm going to read you what she said and then
we'll get into it.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Okay, let's address the elephant in the room. I have
a responsibility to myself and my employers to clarify what
is being reported. Nothing's being reported. You said it. We
just played you. Nothing's being reported. You said what you said,
there's no reports, there's no hey, oh I heard you said. No, no, no, you.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Said, but that would have been a whole problem. It
was a report. How funny would that be? It's being misreported? Well,
how about that?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
When on a podcast this week, I said I would
make up reports early in my career, early in my career,
like before I knew it, like now all of a sudden,
early in Mike, before I knew any better, before I
knew I would make up reports early in my career,
when I worked as a sideline reporter, before I transitioned
to my current host role, meaning that was a long
time ago, right, Working in media, I understand how important
(06:53):
words are, and I chose the wrong words to describe
the situation. I'm sorry. I have never lied about anything
or unethical during my time as a sports broadcaster. Pretty
sure that's not true. I'm pretty sure that Lesson never
lied about anything or been unethical. Pretty sure that's not true,
because pretty sure you broke it by saying what you
(07:13):
said yesterday, or what if you were lying about that,
then you broke that too, Because think about that, my
carn what if she was lying about what she said
when she made up said I made up stories. What
it was my mad dog Ruso theory. Yeah, my mad
dog Ruso theory from yesterday. Mmm, this this is I
(07:34):
look at this, and I say, I didn't know how
she's going to respond today, and I thought she would
apologize you. But since there's really no proof other than
what she said, and no one's going back in time
and finding stuff and everything else, at least, maybe uh,
what she's gonna say is I'm gonna try to just
(07:55):
paint this the best I can and paint it rosie
and say things like this is what's being reported. And
I'm early in my career, not now, but early. I
never lied about anything, because how can you prove it?
I told a story, right, So what if she's lying?
What if let me tell you this, let me blow
your mind. What if she's lying about the story she told?
Meaning what if she told that story just to get
(08:15):
attention and she never really lied about it, and she
talked to coaches all the time and just told that
story just for clicks or for attention, Like that could
be something to like, if you never lied, then what
is this all about? Because you pretty sure said yesterday
you would make up reports. I don't know how you
sit here and you say I chose the wrong words.
I didn't make stuff up. I mean, look, we're in
(08:36):
a time now where whatever you do, there's always going
to be some people who want to defend you for
whatever reason. And you can lean into that and make
it look like it's a lot of people who want
to stand up for you and say things even though
you're clearly in the wrong, and that's just what I'm
going to lean on. But I you know, I look
at this and I go, this is not really anything.
This is not an apology, this is not a this
is just I want this to be over. I said
(08:58):
what I said. I'm still not backing away from it,
and you guys can go go talk about it and
and do whatever you want. But I'm done. Forget about
the damage that I've done to reporters and the media
in general, because now people are gonna think that all
reporters make stuff up, whatever it is, and whenever somebody
has a scoop, oh, they're just making it up because
(09:18):
we heard a reporter admit that she made stuff up.
Forget about the damage I did. I'm done. I did this.
I'm done. I really want some kind of responsibility that
she has towards what she does for a living, and
and and and how that affects more than just yourself.
Because this is just Hey, I'm a star. Now this
is a long time ago. Yeah I said that, But
now I'm done. I'm moving on. What about the collateral
(09:39):
damage that you have Every single Sideline reporter who's ever
uttered a word at weighing in the last twenty four
hours about how you can't do this and you are
ruining everything that we've tried to fight for to try
to talk to coaches and get relationships and and and
women and men because Sideline men's Sideline reporters got to
keep relationships with coaches too, right, They got to They
gotta work on that trust. If you're an up and
coming young report, you got to work on trust with
(10:01):
coaches and teens. And now this is helping to blow
that out of the water. And instead it's just yeah,
here's my statement, and now I'm done. I'm walking away.
I'm putting a statement on Instagram. I'm walking away. This
is you know, I can't. Still twenty four hours later,
I'm just as upset as I was yesterday, well.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Still throwing out the you know, I consider them all
my friends and all this thing and blah blah blah.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
It's it's all finding good.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
But yeah, it really is a lot of the the
mad Dog thing of Hey, you know I said this
out my podcast.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
If you'd been listening to my podcast.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
You know, listen to my podcast that I do with
Aaron Andrews, she might as well have just dovetailed into
talking about Kelsey and Taylor Swift while while he was
you know, while she was at it, just to say, hey,
we got them together, because they're certainly taking credit for
some of that right of putting that into existence.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
So yeah, it's a nice big piece for the podcast.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Just like you know, mad Dog Russo has never hasn't
been as relevant in years as he was for that
two week period after claiming he.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Was going to retire.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Right, So you say stuff, you get some some acknowledgment.
Sometimes people wonder, hey, do guys get things factually incorrect
just so you talk about them and call them idiots,
you know, things of that nature. So in this case, yeah,
I mean, this could very well well be a I
said it.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
It got everybody excitable.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I really do it because what you're gonna need is
the corroboration of people behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Right, like we were talking about a little bit last night.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
You can get the full analysis off the podcast wherever
you downlow dra Audio.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Thank you for being part of the family.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
But just the idea that you know, between line producers,
camera people, et cetera, somewhat along the way could probably
either agree with or disagree with or show you where
the uh you know, the holes are in all of
this if they were so, if there was desirous to
(11:56):
be part of the story, my guess is that was
the state.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
That's the end of it.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Now back to shilling for you know, home furnishings and stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
I'm telling you, I mean this is this is really
really bad, and she's just gonna run away from it.
I started this, but now now I'm gonna run away again.
I'm just as mad as I was, and I really
would like there to be some kind of ending that
is good, that that people can learn about this. And
maybe that's the thing is that now you're seeing what happens,
and people who want to do this for a living
(12:26):
are seeing what happens if you start making stuff up.
Whoha I don't want this to happen, Jason.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
She doesn't even have to run away from it. There
are zero repercussions.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
For her exactly, other other than maybe people don't answer
her texts and she doesn't get it.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
I think she cares right, No, But that's what I mean, Like,
those are the repercussions. She may not get to go
to a couple of holiday parties, holiday holiday.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
She's got her own parties, parties, Twitter at how about

in Portland. The Lakers now lead by four over the Blazers.
(15:11):
It was a ten point lead two minutes in, and
that lead is almost gone to make it a three
point lead for the Lakers. But it is the inn
season tournament. I expect the Lakers to pick it up
any moment now, because when you say in season tournament,
the Lakers flipped the switch at.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
My signal on leash. Hell, look at the stripe down
that court. That's that's the only motivational speech you need.
Followed the stripe.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Now, before we get into the NFL, let's do this.
Let's have some equal time here. We talked a lot
about the CORRISA. Thompson situation. A few minutes ago. She
went on a podcast a day ago and said she
used to make up reports when she couldn't talk to
a coach on the sideline of NFL games, and then
put out a statement today saying that, oh, yeah, yeah, no,
(15:55):
I never made stuff up before. And that's it. Oh
I'm gonna walk away from this firestorm and all the
difficulties I've created for everybody in the business. I'm done.
I'm a star. I don't even to worry about this.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Some of my best friends are in that business.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Let's play a game, right now. Let's play a game
right now. We have.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
A couple of.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Carrissa Thompson's sideline reports when she was a sideline reporter
at Fox. We're gonna listen and let's decide if that
was real or if it was made up.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
That is a magic Johnson.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
So playing as myself, Mike Carbon, Steve de Sager, Frostburg,
Alex Tyshirt. Are you guys ready to go? Yes?
Speaker 7 (16:32):
So, well, I'm not playing because I know the answers.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Oh you know the answer? Okay, So I know it's
made up.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
This when you thought you knew the answers, all right,
So Frostburg's out, So it's you me, ty Shirt and Steve.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
All right, go ahead, let's hear the first one intended
for Greg Jennings.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Let's go down to Carrissa Thompson.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Well, guys, catching up with both coaches at halftime.
Speaker 9 (16:52):
For coach del Rio, as you might imagine, it's all
about getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers. He said he liked
the game plan that they had headed in. They've just
done a poor job of executing offensively. They have to
be more aggressive. For coach McCarthy, on the other hand,
you guys, he was so adamant about a communication breakdown.
We saw that right before the half with Finley. He said,
a headset actually broke. It's all about communication on the
Packer's side.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
All right.
Speaker 7 (17:14):
So that was Packers and Jags back in the day.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Okay, real or mate? I'm gonna say that was real
because it's very specific, detailed, saying you talked to both coaches.
I don't know and I don't know sideline reporters talking
to both coaches just because she said, I mean, it's
fifty to fifty.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
But the half real half imagined I really only talked
to one.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
I couldn't get to the other side of the field,
so I'm gonna try it up. I say, you know what,
I need to hear the first part again, Alex play
the first part of it again, just afraid not the
McCarthy part, just the first part. Yes, Greg Jennings, let's
go down to Carissa Thompson.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Well, guys, catching up with both coaches at halftime.
Speaker 9 (17:55):
For coach del Rio, as you might imagine, it's all
about getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers. He said he liked
the game plan that they had headed in, they just
do a poor job of executing it.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Offensive. Hm, oh, that's a tough thing, said MacArthur Park
before that. Yes, someone left the cake out in the rain,
and though, oh boy, you gotta explain to Tyshert MacArthur
Park now because we gotta hear MacArthur Park, I.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Told you fifty.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
I'm gonna say that's a real one. The details from
McCarthy are pretty they're they're pretty significant where there could
be a discrepancy on it after the game about the
headset communication thing, and it sounds real like she really
did talk to del Rio, who said was adamant about
the game plan. I'm gonna say that's a real one.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yes, yeah, Steve, you agree, absolutely Oh I'm out. I'm
fifty to fifty. I say part of it's true. She
didn't get to both of them. Which ones should happened?
Which one's true? I think the communication one's true? All right,
so mcarthy true the other one? Who is coach speak?
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Okay, ty Shirt? What do you think I'm gonna pass?
What's on? A?
Speaker 10 (19:04):
Ja?
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Cole?
Speaker 1 (19:05):
J Cole?
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Do you think she's given truth or not?
Speaker 10 (19:10):
This is like, Patrick is such a kiss.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
That's not even working tonight.
Speaker 10 (19:17):
Let me working on the big Jason. Now, God, Patrick,
you're such a suck up. It's unbelievable. It's Larry Miller
and pretty Woman.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
It's announcing Jason Cole NFL Insider, a voter for the
Hall of Very Good.
Speaker 10 (19:38):
Where's my where's my intro music?
Speaker 1 (19:41):
You don't get it. You joined in the middle of
the game, so you don't get into intro music.
Speaker 10 (19:45):
I get the match game seventy six? Where is Rayburn
when we need him?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (19:50):
That was that game or that's match game, isn't it
all right?
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Yeah? That's what they when they write down their their answers.
That's what you're hearing.
Speaker 10 (19:58):
Yes, right, Where is Charles Milton or Patrick sort of
playing the role of Charles.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Milton Riley Brett Summers don't forget Yeah.
Speaker 10 (20:06):
Yeah, does he even know who Charles Milson Riley is?
So no, there's no possible way that Patrick knows that
reference none.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
A pretty good run, though, dude, Patrick, Patrick's not working tonight.
Frostburg is here, Pat Frobsberg is here. All right, So
let's do this one before now because we have j
Cole on the line. What do you think, jacl was
that a real report or a made up repression?
Speaker 10 (20:33):
Oh? What exactly? Report again? Say it to me again?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
More for you right now, Jacob, I'll play for you
right now.
Speaker 6 (20:41):
Let's starching up with both coaches at halftime.
Speaker 9 (20:43):
For coach del Rio, as you might imagine, it's all
about getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers. He said he liked
the game plan that they had headed in. They've just
done a poor job of executing it offensively. They have
to be more aggressive. For coach McCarthy, on the other hand,
you guys, he was so adamant about a communication breakdown.
We saw that right before the half with Finland.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
I said, is actually rue.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
It's all about communication on the packer's side.
Speaker 10 (21:04):
Okay, the del Rio part is absolutely one dred percent
true because del Rio will talk to any blonde he
can find.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (21:12):
Wow, I know I know my coaches.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (21:18):
And and Mark McCarthy is I'm going to say it's
yes because he's actually kind of a nice guy.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Once.
Speaker 10 (21:26):
He wouldn't be rude to a woman and not talk
to her. So like, if this is Belichicket, there's a
no ways, absolutely no way it's true. But I'll go
with I'll go with true on this one. You know,
despite the fact that she has stepped in it sufficiently.
Speaker 7 (21:43):
Jay Cole knows his NFL sideline reporters, guys, that is
a true report.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Said true report. I said the same thing. I said
it was true, though, and I gave better reasons than
Cole did.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
I actually went in no better reasons I gave at reason.
Speaker 10 (21:59):
I'm I know these actual people, Okay, I know their tendencies. Okay,
that's way better inside information than anything that you provided
out of your you know, Jet's mind.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Hey, Hey, I just want to let you know before
we start this interview, you step out of line with
a j we I got, I got I got something,
I got something in my holster to play for you.
You're not gonna like so you step out of line
again and you're gonna hear it.
Speaker 10 (22:25):
Wow, I'm so scared.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
I think now we should play it for him. Then
I think I did. If you're not, are you not scared?
We could play it for you. You want to hear it.
Speaker 10 (22:35):
Scared?
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (22:37):
You want to hear it on this show?
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Yeah? You sure?
Speaker 10 (22:40):
Is there ever gonna be frightened us?
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Okay, let's hear from earlier this week. This is forty
nine Ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Oh during his weekly
press conference. Let's hear let's.
Speaker 10 (22:51):
As from their quarterback coaches. I mean, dam and she's
a trans quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I understand.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
I don't think you understand.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Coaches in this building.
Speaker 10 (23:01):
We don't sit in night.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
You don't talk mechanics all week. You're preparing for a
game plan.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
That's what you're doing the season.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
You're getting ready for the offense that we're running, the
defense that are going on. When you work to improve
your full work and arm strength.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Just say okay, he said, I don't understand, And you
know what, I didn't understand. That's why I asked the question, okay,
because I wanted to understand how he handles it.
Speaker 5 (23:27):
All.
Speaker 10 (23:28):
This is what inquisitive people actually do. They ask questions
that they don't necessarily know the answer to. That's how
this works.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Well, let me just see Jason.
Speaker 10 (23:39):
So gigantic flop on what I should be scared of?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
No, not a gigantic flop kind of in kind of
really on brand few where you don't really listen when
you're on this show, and you didn't listen during the press.
Speaker 10 (23:49):
Why would I have on this show. I'm the show
when I come on. Not you guys, you give it
you me okay, okay, So yeah, so that along with me.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Wait, so do the forty nine ers do they not
talk about mechanics during the week? I don't know what.
What's the real answer?
Speaker 10 (24:11):
Well, apparently they don't. And according to Kyle, and this
is much more. This is a really deep, esoteric subject
that we've been talking to players about which most fans
really don't care about. And that is when you've got
a guy who's got like five coaches that he's had
over the years, like Brock Purty has his own personal
(24:33):
throwing coach in Jacksonville. He has another guy who trained
him when he was in high school. You know, in
junior high and high school and most of the time
when he was in college. He also has college coach,
he has high school coach. He also has Brian Greesi
and Kyle Shanahan. So not specific to brock Purty, but
generally among NFL players. The question I'm asking is what
(24:56):
happens when you have all these voices in your head
and telling you what to do? How do you reacting
and give a situation and how do you shut out
the ones that you know you think are wrong but
keep your keep from second guessing yourself. So it's a long,
kind of involved idea that I'm trying to get into,
(25:19):
and Kyle didn't really bite on it, but he gave
me an answer, which is that evidently they don't concentrate
on mechanics during the season. They're concentrating on game plan,
which kind of makes sense because it's hard to teach
mechanics while you're in the middle of the season.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
There you go, all right, I have a two part
question for you.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Number One, do you care that Joe Burrow had a
brace when he got off a bus before getting injured
in last night's game. Second part to that question is
he and can Joe Flacco still be elite.
Speaker 10 (25:53):
Still, Okay, there's a lot of presumption in that question.
It's the second part of it. The first part is, yeah,
I do care because if he was injured and should
have been mentioned on the injury report, yeah, like that's
important information, especially in a league that is embracing gambling
(26:15):
as much as it does. Because what you don't want
is the old world of Billy Walters, where Billy was
paying for special access and special information and the game
seemed tilted. And that was okay when the NFL kept
everything at arms distance and didn't have a relationship with
(26:36):
gambling houses. But now that it does, it has an
obligation to keep everything as close to on the up
and up as it can. I still, you know, at
the end of the day, I still look at anybody
who gambles and complains about this and says, you know,
don't complain about the lack of information or specificity of information.
(26:56):
That's on you. You're gambling. Okay, that's the nature of this.
But if there was an injury that needed to be reported, yes,
he should have been listed on the jury report. I
would agree with that, all right.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Now, the second part now leaves Joe Black a lot
of it. How screwed are they with brown their quarterback?
Speaker 10 (27:18):
With Browning? Nakel oh no, no, Jack.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Well And did Mike Tomlin make a deal with the.
Speaker 10 (27:22):
Devil Jake Browning? Yeah, they're screwed. I mean, let's let's
say facts. I mean, Joe Burrow is so special and
has such a such an incredibly special relationship with Jamar Chase. Now,
the thing that is helping us is but the Jets
(27:47):
with Aaron Rodgers not what they expected to be, floating
around five hundred. The Bills with all the injuries they have,
and with Josh Allen giving the ball away more than
a slot machine in vague, you know, they're floating around
five hundred, right, And then you've got Cleveland's all banged up,
(28:09):
Pittsburgh is not really very good, the Chargers, you know,
Brandon Staley is just perfecting the art of losing close games.
I mean, just a phenomenal at that. You know, who
do you really trust? I mean, there's the Dolphins are
really good. Baltimore's you know, should be really good, you know, defensively,
(28:30):
and they're not asking Lamar to be too much. And
then of course you've got Kansas City and so I
think it's a big run for the last four spots.
So Cincinnata can take their way into it. But are
you talking about a real contender. No, like you're just
talking about a team that sneaks his way into the
playoffs and it spoder for one of those top three teams.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Probably he's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is,
at Jason Cole sixty two. Panick's Answers. Jason Cole will
provide that for you.
Speaker 10 (29:03):
If Jordan loves how easy. Richard Dawson was a hero
of mine. I just wanted to say that.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
He was on Match Game all a lot as well.
Speaker 10 (29:12):
He was the host.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Richard wasn't the Gean Rayburn was the host of Match Richard.
Speaker 10 (29:18):
Richard Dawson also was a host.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
He was a panelist, He was even host, He.
Speaker 10 (29:23):
Was alist, He did some of that stuffure Geene Rayburn
pure genius, absolute, pure genius.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Extra long microphone too, he had. Yeah, here you go.
Richard Richard Dawson, well known for playing Corporal Peter Nukirk
and Hogan's Heroes, also as a regular panelist on Match
Game and is the host of Family Feud.
Speaker 10 (29:45):
Yeah, it was that too and Killian Richard. Richard Dawson
a step behind Gene Rayburn as a host, it's still
pretty brilliant.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Take it easy, buddy, we'll talk. I don't think Richard
Dawson hosted Match Game. I don't think he did. Tonight

Speaker 3 (30:26):
I see, I had got to do a quick correction.
It is the dating game music as we had that
come along from the Twitter verse accounts, and I verified
it off the old computers, so it's not the match game.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
It is the dating game.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
It verified Richard Dawson never hosted Match Game because I
don't think he did. Yeah, I don't believe he did.
Speaker 7 (30:50):
Yeah, but we're trying to match the audio whether she
was true or not. We're not trying to date.
Speaker 1 (30:54):

Back Debit Discover Bank member fd I s Well. Every week,
Mike and I give you our Upset Special picks for
the week. One in one, last week twelve and eight
on the season, I was a half point away, Mike Harmon,
I was a half a point away from a two
and zero week half a point away and the Patriots
(32:03):
couldn't find a way to get me that extra half point.
The soul they did.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
They crush me well, but they give you more joy
in watching the disintegration of a long, proud franchise. So
I think you'll take that over your pick against the spread.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Well, they I was winning either way, right, I mean,
I'm winning either way right. Hey, No, but I think
it's a.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Bigger win, yeh, bigger win for the Patriots implosion, just
from a personal level, because your animus and hatred of
them has been so obvious throughout these many years. Your
ability to be objective and fair when it comes to
the Patriots has long been in question.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
All right, So let's get things off. Here are upset
special pictures the way. I can't disagree, I mean I
can't disagree. Mike, What do you got up first? What's
your first upset.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
Many this week?
Speaker 3 (32:50):
I'm gonna take your your other most hated guy in
Pittsburgh getting.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
One and a half points.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
You know, Deshaun Watson was only worth two or two
and a half points, depending on where you're shopping.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Take them that what you will.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Cleveland's still a narrow one or one and a half
point favorite.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Steelers might get Friar Mooth back.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
I'm not saying he's a savior, but it's nice to
have an extra piece, an extra chip out there. Naji
Harris and Jalen Warren, particularly Jalen Warren in the passing game,
I think we'll have something to say in the Steelers
defense can hold dtr and company at Bay. It's a
field goal kicking contest as it's the race to thirty
two on that over under. As we joked about the
(33:28):
other day, it might as well be the Hawk guys
out there, because that's what it's gonna look.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Like, all right, So grins and giggles that you're taking
the over the under.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Under under her field goal kicking contest, I'm telling and
maybe a safety give it.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Maybe a safety to put it over thirty two. Give
me the Rams getting two over the Seahawks. Look, they
beat them week one. This is the Rams season. This
week it's win or it's over. Mike Matthew Stafford's going
to play. The Rams offense is gonna have a big day.
They well against Seattle. Seattle's offense is a little meh.
(34:04):
It looks like they've lost their identity a little bit.
Suddenly now Kenneth Walker's getting out snapped by Zach Sharbonay
and Gino Smith is sort of just getting by every week,
not really taking advantage of metcalf and Locke and Smith
the jigba. It's just they're sort of losing their mojo
a little bit. So give me the rams in a
(34:24):
week where they have to winter their seasons over, they're
getting two. I mean it may not come to it,
but I'll take every bit of those two points. I
mean it may be something, but give me those two points.
Give me the rams.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
There you go, all right.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
My other one, I'm gonna take Kyler Murray and your
Arizona Cardinals down the road at Houston. Depending on when
you got in, it's up to five and a half
or six. So it's actually gone up as the weeks
going on, even with James Connor back, even with Trey
McBride starting to show some lup and Kyler Murray demonstrating
(34:55):
turbo mode on that big run that we have seen
so many times. It's like Forrest Gump when he was
running running like hell to get back to Mama. I'm
taking him plus the five. I'll call it five because
that's what I wrote it down as.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
I'll give you five and if it's fine, if it's
that extra five and half.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Sure, I'm not gonna shy away from it there, so
I'll take it.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, ten bucks, I'll give you that extra half point.
Ten bucks, I'll.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Pay for the half point.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Give me the Vikings getting three over the Broncos. I
don't understand this point spread, but I'm not going to
look a gift horse in the mouth. Denver's on a
short weekend. They're still a bad football team. Okay, the
Buffalo Bills handed that game to them on Monday, handed
the game.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
They look good against the Chiefs as well. Yeah, they
playing better, they got healthy.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
But Minnesota's hot. Their offense is hot. I believe in
Joshua Dobbs. He's got something special going on with that team,
especially now if you're gonna see ty Chandler get a
little bit more running that offense, maybe look a little
bit like Vince Young and and Chris Johnson when they
were in there heyday, back about ten years ago, of
the Titans. Minnesota's gonna put points on the board. They're
(36:07):
gonna score. Still, not enough tape on Joshua Dobbs with
the Vikings to really kind of game plan. The Vikings
stay hot, they win by a field goal. I'm not
gonna need three points, but I'll still take them. Minnesota
wins on the field. I just love everything about what
they got going on right now with Joshua Dobbs. And look,
and you saw Kirk Cousins today when he said, Hey,
(36:27):
I'm gonna play next year, where are you gonna play?
I don't know, man, I don't know, josh I'm telling you,
Joshua Dobbs is gonna be the long term answer a quarterback.
We talked about it this week. He'll sign a two
or three year deal. He's this year's Geno Smith. We
talked about it. Jay Glazer talked about it with us
last night. This is Joshua Dobbs's team, and Kirk Cousins
is gonna have to go someplace else for the last
(36:49):
act to his NFL career.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
He's got an opportunity to audition down the stretch here.
If nothing else, he'll probably be able to have the
Jets bid against themselves again. And that's part of what
the negotiating strategy is here. One thing to watch for
this game. A lot of speculation about Justin Jefferson still
on the injury report and they've long held the until
he's one hundred percent. He ain't coming back, so uh,
(37:11):
don't be ready to trigger him out of your fantasy lineup.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Just think if the Jets had Joshua Dobbs where they
would be Just where, just think where if they had
traded for Joshua Dobbs a month ago they be They'd
be at the top of the AFC East, they'd be
at the top of.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
The AM But we wouldn't know what a great leader
Garrett Wilson's becoming. Keep an eye on his status for
Sunday too.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
I don't know. Well, he says he's gonna play. He
said he's got the dinged up elbow. He's not gonna
throw any more passes, which, again, what a bad decision
that was. Let's have a guy with a bad elbow
throw a pass, Like, really, what the hell are you doing?
I mean, really, what they are you doing? But that's
the Jets. So there it is our upset special picks
for the week in the NFL. James Smith Mike Harmon
live from the Tirack dot Com Studios. Coming up next,
(37:52):
we get into a couple of other big games we're
looking at this weekend. Keep it right here, Jason and Mike.
This is Fox
