Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this if you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
No, let's go, stinking.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Genius, let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 5 (00:32):
You're not getting to help our college football teams need tonight.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
No, my dream is getting crushed, Chris, It's over. It's
getting crushed now.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
But you had accepted it. You had accepted it.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
Hey, welcome into the tirack dot com studios. Tirack dot
com will help you get there and unmatched the selection, fast,
free shipping, free roadhazard protection at over ten thousand recommended
installers tire rack dot com the way tire buying should
be now. On this Black Friday, we will get to
the Miami offense win over the New York Jets, but

(01:03):
Arnie needs an Oregon State win and then an Arizona
win tomorrow to go in.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Arizona win final. That's a done deal. We'll beat Thebikah
drum we it was fourteen seven. We were gonna go
into half time fourteen to seven and get the ball
to start the second half. We were right there, right there, Chris.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Can you name the Oregon State starting quarterback? The yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Oh yeah, Gowey close enough.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Yeah, you were in good shape. And then Oregon did
what Oregon does. HiT's a big play and it's twenty
one to seven at the half.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
It's over.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
I need for Oklahoma to get to the Big twelve
championship game. I don't necessarily need it, but it would
have added another option for Texas Tech to beat Texas. Yeah,
that's not happening. Texas lost its best wide receiver. It
looks scary Xavier Worthy and by the way, probable first
round pick if and he's coming out. But it's thirty

(01:56):
three to seven now in the start of the third quarter.
You just heard this say. Texas took the opening kick
to start the second half back for a touchdown and
the party is on on the forty acres.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
So, now, Arnie, this was the only way.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Well, and again we still have half to go, but
this is the only way you can get in, right,
there's no other scenarios this Oregon.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Okay, all right, this is it, right. I gotta hope
that Oregon State makes a second half comeback, you know,
takes the opening kickoff or the second half kickoff, scores
a touchdown, makes it twenty one to fourteen, and somehow
gets a turnover or something like that. I gotta pray
for something like that.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Chris and as an Oklahoma fan with the Sooners now
watching Texas when Texas is going to clinch a spot
in next week's Big twelve championship game in Arlington. All
we need, Arnie, all we need is for five and
seven BYU to beat Oklahoma State. That's all we need.
That's it. But it was a fun run. What a season?

(02:53):
What a day? Can you believe this is the last
regular season weekend of college football already?

Speaker 4 (02:58):
I don't want it to end with the year that
Arizona's have it. I just wanted to go on and
on and on and oh man, I's and we may
lose our coach. I'm getting all teary eyed. It's it's
it's tough, but I'm still I'm still praying for a
second half Oregon State comeback.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Well what if Okay, here's the scenario. You're praying for
the second half, Oregon State comeback? But what if your
coach leaves after this week and to take another job.
Then who's going to coach in the bar? Are you
set up with your staff? Because I know you don't
care about coordinators or coaches, but do you Okay, oh,
you care about this one?

Speaker 4 (03:32):
All of a sudden, I don't want this one. They go,
what's wrong with you? The Oregon State's losing their head coach?

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Right?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
Yeah, apparently the hot rumor that Jonathan Smith, the Beaver's
head coach, is going to be on his way to
Michigan State, which, again, I know all the disasters around
Michigan State, still a better job than Oregon State. You
have a conference home, you've got good nil, and they're
gonna love you when you have a little bit of
success there, so I can't blame them if that's gonna

(03:57):
be his gig. Hey, are you surprising how quiet it's
been around the Texas A and m job. I thought
there'd be big names galore that'll be rumored for it.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
I didn't think they would hire anybody by now, but
I thought there'd be more rumors and more innuendos and
more Hey, look at this guy here, and this guy
wants the job, and this guy says he doesn't want
the job, but so far nothing, to be honest.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Well, let's let's go ahead and quit bearing the lead here, Arnie,
because you know, I'm a firm believer that any day
with football is a good day. Yes, But these last
forty hours of football, oh my gosh, I mean, we
just we need something, something competitive, something worthwhile. Started out

(04:39):
hot yesterday with the Green Bay win over Detroit, but
in all honesty, that was never really that close of
a football game.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, but it was an upset though, so it was
more than a touchdown upset. It doesn't make a difference.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You would have called out a good game.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
No, I didn't call it a great guy, That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
I mean, yes, it's an upset. Upsets can be tear.
I'm trying to be on your team here. You're mister
grinch about football and can't wait until you have to
turn it on to I don't even know dateline or whatever,
But for this glorious moment of football, foot faith, football
and Turkey, I don't know if I got the order
right there, but for some choose that's what Thanksgiving is

(05:17):
all about. Family in there somewhere too. And the football
has just been terrible so far this week?

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Is it has? You know, the Cowboys just ran away
with it the fourth and that San Francisco's Seattle game
was so much unwatchable. You're just you have it out
in the background because it's Nikes gis so bad. Yeah,
not a good game either. In the Miami Jet game,
I was even born now, I'm a big Miami fit.
I was born with it, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Chriz, Well, let's hit it.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
We haven't talked about it yet as we welcome you
into this Friday night on Fox Sports Radio, where we
do have we do have some big time guests that
are going to be joining us later on in the program.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Matt Verderm will join us.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
He is with Sports Illustrating now ONORN and I talked
to him quite a bit on Sunday nights, but it's
been a minute, so it'll be fun to catch back
out with Matt Verdram. It is always we'll hang out
with her buddy Todd Furman. Nice, but what'd you take
away from thirty four to thirteen. Today at your boys,
at your Dolphins, they're eight and three now nothing overly
jaw dropping. You lose Jalen Phillips, one of your best
defensive players.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah, the injuries.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Injuries mount up. But what'd you take away from a
hooe hum kind of a day?

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Yeah, the injuries hurt. That kind of sucked out there.
I saw what Tyreek Hill went down with the foot problem, Like, okay,
season over, so that kind of a set me. Thank goodness,
he came on back when it was ten to six.
I thought it was gonna be like that at halftime
until Miami had the kick or the interception return for
a touchdown. I wasn't happy. It always seems like crazy

(06:40):
things like that happened to Miami, like in the New
England game on the kickoff for the last play and stuff. So,
I mean, it was it was a nutty play. Miami
had the tour with the pick six. How terrible is
that when you're up ten nothing and you let him
get back in the game with doing something like that.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
It was.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
It was a sloppy win. I'm not liking the way
Miami's played the last couple weeks. But I can't complain
that there eight and three right now. They got a
two game lead to the East, and hopefully though they'll
continue to get better. But it was a sloppy win.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
You're trying to tell me you don't subscribe to the
just win baby theory, No, because.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
I would have win a super Bowl. That's the that's
the you know, the goal here, not just going and
win the division and get it to the playoffs or
win a playoff game. It's about winning the super Bowl.
That's what I want to see the Dolphins do it.
They play like this, They're not beating anybody in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
So can I just push back slightly here?

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
You're knocking out the teams that you're supposed to knock out.
I mean, it's not like anything is happening in these
games that are showing you're a bad football team. You
haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet, But
what can you do beat the teams that are in
front of you?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Right?

Speaker 5 (07:47):
So, I as long as Tua is healthy and as
long as Tyreek Hill is healthy, which it kind of
looks like he is, right, I feel really good about
things for your guys. And this has been a hard
one eighty for me because I loved see you in misery,
not because I didn't like you, because you're so arrogant
about your teams when they just have the slightest bit
of success.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
I didn't like to pick the pick six though by
two and that who did?

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Ye?

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Who does?

Speaker 5 (08:10):
But if that's the one mistake he makes during the
day and you still win by three scores, you gotta
feel good about it. Which, by the way, though, I
do understand this because I think the New York Jets
might be the worst football team I've ever seen put together.
That everyone crammed down my throat telling me was ready

(08:31):
to take that next step.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
I know, is it disgusting or what it really is?
That they're just their offense is about as pathetic as
they come. I would never worried. I mean, the fact
they were they picked up a first down made me
sick to myself.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
I'm making it.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
It was horrible, Chris, it really was.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Okay, here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
I understand. I completely and totally understand Arnie. Aaron Rodgers
went out, he got hurt. That was that was their
plan in twenty twenty three and beyond right, and he
goes down.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
But here's what I hate.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Here's what I hate is whenever I have all these experts,
all these I don't know, I've got to come up
with a better turn than like cleat chasers.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
But it's the guy who's.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
In the report that in the reporting world that carry
the weight for front office guys because they give him
information and tell them stuff.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
Right.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
And all I heard about the Jets already is well,
that's a roster. That's a roster now that you know
is really and that's a defense. That's a defense that
is really really good and it might not matter o
Zach Wilson completed a pass. Look, I just feel like,
I don't know, I feel like we have given them
a past or a majority of this season because of

(09:39):
Aaron Rodgers. All I heard about was the greatness of
the roster that they've put together.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
What would the record be if they had Aaron Rodgers
healthy and he was playing right now? What are you
because right now they're four and seven. You don't think
they'd be four and seven to Rogers, do you?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Why not? Why not?

Speaker 5 (09:55):
What have they done the last few weeks defensively that
would make you believe that outside of the Raiders came
and the Raiders think, I.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Mean they might win that game. I'll give him four
and sevens. That'd be five five carry the one five,
five and six.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Five, And I don't think maybe like a six and
five football team, big deaf mat between that and four
and seven, that's for sure. I mean, is it would
they be talking? Is that a super Bowl defense?

Speaker 4 (10:20):
It's a pretty damn good defense, so at least we
thought it was coming in.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
No ask Arnie. That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
I've we've been told incessantly how great the defense is,
and I feel like it's sporadic. Now I'll blame him, man,
I'd get angry if if my offense was constantly doing
that to me, right, But I mean this is I
wouldn't be surprised if they fired Robert Sala after the season.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Oh you know, there's always talk. Were we brought that
up last night when I was filling on in. I
didn't really think at the beginning of the year that
he was coaching for his job, and then that was
the season is going along. I may have to agree
with you, man, I've done kind of like a one
eighty on this. I'm like how many wins does he
have to get? Or at least they have to be
consistent offensively. Like I said, they're just putrid out there.

(11:09):
I don't know what he has to do to save
his job. They may already decide they want to go
to a different direction.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
How big of a loss is Phillips in your opinion?

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Oh that's horrible, isn't it? I mean, did you see
did you see the video of the injury?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Are you kidding me? It's the first thing I looked
for whenever I was watching the highlights. What a terrible person.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
That's so horrible, Chris, It really, I mean, not that
you look for it. It's just look at the video.
You're like, oh no, and you can see it's as
plain as they I would never have noticed if they
don't slow it down and slow move for you. So
you I mean some of the videos like slow down
and they circle it red and they show your word
to look and stuff like that. It really looks painful,

(11:48):
you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (11:48):
Now, look right here, this is the moment where you
can see the Achilles SyES right.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Oh very much nice?

Speaker 5 (11:56):
What is your team done this year? They've overcome adversity
you're eight and three. As you mentioned, you got four. Now,
well it is a two game lead over the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
You're in good shape. I think you should be on
cloud nine.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Oh we are good, Joe. We're gonna wa We just
clinched the division. The divisions are that's that's pretty much
a done deal. So pretty much forget about that. And
not only that, you want the kicker not only as
Arizona not always by Arizona Wildcats doing great. I still
hope that they get into the Pac twelve championship. Not
only are my Dolphins going to the Super Bowl. Did
my Nicks just win the championship?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah? I think we did this last year early in
the season, don't you No?

Speaker 4 (12:33):
No, did we win the in group championship thing? Or
is that not? I don't know if that's going Didn't
we win something? This was part of that.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
You're the Knicks fan that's telling me about this, So
don't I don't you act like I've spent any portion
of my day today. The most NBA I've had today
was hearing Rob Parker and Andy Furman complain about not knowing
the rules of the playing tournament. That was the intent
that I know that was the extent of my NBA information.
I'm leaning on to say, I guess you now because

(13:01):
I didn't see one damn NBA note on your Roman numerals,
So go ahead and bring it up.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
No, no, I was just kidding you. Rabid thing one.
They had a good from behind victory against Miabbi and
they were celebrating. I'm like, oh, did we win? You
play a tournament or something like that. I don't know. No, yeah,
we're not even We already lost like one or two games.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yeah, it's we got a little waste to go on
that right now, I think, No, no, we do.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
We do.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Everybody calm now, we got a little ways to go
on that. But I will add, I will add I'm
actually one of those people that actually likes the in
season two, Oh Jesus.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Thoroughly enjoying it. I don't know why. Well A, the
Lakers are good in it and they're not good in
anything else. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
Maybe I'm like a twelve year old I like the
different colored courts. But regardless, the Sager's here tonight to
keep you up to date on the NBA and what's
going on. All right, we got a bevy of college
football games going on. None of them are necessarily close.
But as we're at halftime, Arnie's Arizona Wildcats still very
much alive for a spot in the Pac twelve Championship game,
but they'll need to come back from Oregon State here

(14:01):
in the second half. We'll keep tabs on that. Plus,
let's go all in when we come back on what
we did learn from not just Thanksgiving football, but the
first ever Black Friday football game. I don't want to
say in the history of the NFL, but let's just
say it's been a minute. Starting playkin for Jason and Mike.

fellow pro bowler TJ. Huschman Zada and Super Bowl champion Yup,

Speaker 5 (15:24):
All right, It'sarian Plank coming to your liverothtiraq dot com studios.
We are pumped to be joined by our buddy Matt
Verdram here on a Friday night. Matt hasn't been the
prettiest football we've seen all week and long. But more
today about the mess the Jets are, or kind of
what the Dolphins are becoming where they don't necessarily have

(15:45):
everything but still are able to roll.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
I mean, I think today's more about the Jets. The
Dolphins are what the Dolphins are, the good teams the
Dolphins are really They're a team that I expect to
win eleven twelve games and to be a fac dur
in the playoffs. Maybe not a super Bowl favorite, but
certainly a team that he can't they can't get to
the super Bowl, but the Jets. Look, this falls on

(16:08):
so many people, and I understand Rogers has heard. Everybody
understands that. You know, the second that half in the
season went sideways, and that's that's all well and good.
Rogers is the one who wanted to Saniel Hackett the building.
Rogers is the one who wanted a healthy and act
in saying Alan Mosart, he wanted Randall Cobb, he wanted
Tim Boyle. Okay, and that is a train wreck. Now

(16:32):
it also has to be said that he's not the
general manager of the team, although they might be acting
like one. Joe Douglas, Woody Johnson, Robertson, they're all complicitness.
That team is a wreck. The offensive line is a wreck.
And frankly, even if Rodgers played every game this year,
that's not a good team. I mean that that maybe
because of the defense, maybe they would have found some

(16:54):
way to be a wild cooking. They would have got
blast at the playoffs. So they've got a long way
to go, even with Roger's coming back next year, Matt.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
So you're told me that Sala is coming back next
year coaching for his job or how many wizardes he
have to get? Or do they have to turn it
around and hill some consistent consistency.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
You tell me, well, you know, here's here's the thing.
I think it's really interesting. So let's say they win
one more game in the rest of the years. I
think it's completely implane. They're atrocious and they're schedule is
not easy. So let's say that happens and they finished
five and twelve. I personally do believe there's a conversation
to be had, and a tough one in that building

(17:33):
as to whether or not Sala and the staff are back.
The problem is is it's really up to Rogers, because
Rogers is running the show. It's if he doesn't want
Sala back, Bill fire him. And if he wants him back,
that's a huge vote of confidence and a check market
his column. But what if they move on and Rogers says,
you know what, I want to stand Hockey be the

(17:55):
head coach because he's my guy. That's why I want.
If you don't, you don't, I'm going to retire what
do you do? What do you do with the Jets? Right?
I mean, with all that's gone on with Rogers in
recent years, you don't think that's on the table. So
I think you're almost in a very unenvious position. And
if you're a head coach, Kennet, why would you go

(18:16):
there for one year? Aaron Rodgers off of then Achilles
and then what the abyss? Because they had no plan
after him? So I think Salah is going to get
another year. But that has been a fast.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Matt. Was the Black Friday broadcast game? Just Aura?

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Was it a success? Did you think that it was
worth everything that Amazon paid for it? With all the
talk about the price of this game, I.

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Think it probably is. I mean, we're going to find
out the ratings tomorrow are huge. I bet they're bigger
than any World Series game, bigger the NBA Finals game.
And you know, look, I think it was a game
that wasn't good because the Jets trotted out Tim Boyle.
But if that's a game that's really good, If that's
what we thought the Ravens Bengals game was going to

(19:04):
be before Borrow got hurt, that that's enormous, all right.
I mean that does a huge number because a lot
of Americans are off on Friday and so they're sitting
around the TV recovering from the eight pounds of food
they ate the day prior. Yeah, I think it probably is.
And for Amazon, it's also it doubles as an infomurphal
because you're trying to get everybody to buy stuff off Amazon.

(19:27):
So yeah, I think it probably is going to come
out that it was a pretty good investment.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
You know, Matt, You know, I like to ask you
personal questions, So America wants to know, were you crying
when you heard that Travis Kelsey said he may want
to retire and he was closer to that, to that
and not.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
No, you know what, I gotta be honest, I was
surprised in the sense that he's always kind of talked
about how he'd have to be dragged off the field.
At the same point, I feel like a lot of
athletes say that and then they get to the age
that Kelsey is, you got thirty four to thirty five, Like, man,
it hurts you get out of bed. Like at some
point you're he says to you, I've had enough. Man.
I think he'll still play a couple more years, and

(20:05):
I'd be surprised he doesn't play out the rest of
his contract. But if you're you also think about this way.
I mean, if you're Travis Keltz, you're not gonna have
any money, any money problems off the field, right, I mean,
you're gonna be able to make money in retirement. And
he set himself up. Well, say, he has a nice job
with that, and then you look at what does he
have to prove. I mean, you could argue he's the
best tight end in history. If he's not, he's on

(20:26):
the Mount rushmar he's got two Super Bowl rings, he's
been to three. I mean, what else Like, It's not
like if he retires there's some missing part of his legacy.
So I think he probably has a few years left
in him. He's still a very good player. But I
would think, yeah, you know, we're probably toward the eighteenth larder.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
You know, it's it's again, it's looking back real quick.
I just wanted to get your thoughts on the Cowboys
and what's ahead for Dallas in this stretch. They beat
three bad teams like they're supposed to and beat him handily,
doesn't get too much terribly difficult for them next week.
Kid well, and again I don't want to count out Seattle,
but that Cowboys setting that game against Eagles to sombertent.
That's that's where we really find out where Dallas is, right.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
Yeah, because with Dallas, it's never about the talent. I
mean it's never. You didn't look at the Cowboys and go, God,
I just don't know if they dropped the talent to
win games. It's not. That's never the problem. The problem
with the Cowboys is you can screw up two or
three things against Washington and nobody cares because they can't
take advantage of it during shotgun on fourth and one
and it's like, Okay, that's fineal well, they're gonna run

(21:31):
a lead draw into an eight man front and that's
get that drive. The problem comes in you play Philly,
when you play you know, the Kansas Cities of the world,
the Upper Resalants. He's the San Francisco's of the world
who they played against earlier this year and got killed by.
Like when you play those teams and Mike McCarthy blows

(21:51):
the time out and they screw up a sequence, they
take a penalty that puts them behind the sticks That's
when it shows up. Is again those teams that go, oh,
you're gonna give us the second and sixteen opportunity, Great,
you're gonna punt now, or we're gonna force you win
through a turnover. I pick Dallas at the beginning of
the year to go to the super Bowl and then

(22:12):
immediately felt regret. But I think Dallas can be anybody
on any given day. The question with the Cowboys is
gonna beat four really good teams in a row. And
that's where I struggle because I just don't think they
have the consistency of some of those other upper echelon teams.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Matt, what are you thinking about the Buffalo Bills? I mean,
is it starting to crumble? Is it already crumbled? Do
they have to beat Philadelphia? Is it like a must
win situation? What's gonna happen to Josh Allen? Will there
be major changes there there? People are complaining what's going
on up there in Buffalo.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
I think Buffalo is gonna have to get to eleven
wins to make playoffs because you look at the conference. Well,
let's just go through real quick. So Kansas City's gonna
win the West. Okay, Jacksonville and Houston. If you look
at their schedules, those teams are both getting all eleven
wins gonna happen. I mean, unless unless one of them
gets really injured, it's gonna happen. And even if they
only both get to ten, Jackson's already beat Buffalo, and

(23:07):
Houston's gonna have a much better conference tract.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
The top fives all could be eight and three after
after tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
Yeah, so those teams, those teams are gonna get in
head a Buffalo Buffalo wins ten, Cleveland same deal, Baltimore,
same deal, Miami Saint does that sticks right? And then
you're still look at Okay, well who's the number seven is?
If Pittsburgh maybe their sisles pretty easy? You know, does
somebody come up and make a run. I look at
Buffalo and think you're you're six and five. Their next

(23:36):
two games are at Philly in a Kansas city. You've
got to split them. Worst case, you've got to split them.
And then you come home and you play Dallas and
then you finish with Miami and you have the Game's
the Chargers like they they can probably lose one more game.
So these next two you got at least when one

(23:57):
and you could argue which one is easier. I would
say probably Kansas City at this point, but still not fun.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
Final thought for me, Matt speaking of Kansas City, I mean,
not like the Raiders had any chance, Max Cross. We
might miss this first game, so could really get ugly.
What's impressed me about Kansas City is their defense, right, Mahomes,
I'm telling you what is. Receivers are killing them a
lot this year, but they have a defense that keeps
them in games.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
I mean, I'm not I don't.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
Want to say it's necessarily new, but it's a difference
making defense.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
And I don't know if Casey's had that. In a minute,
where did this come from?

Speaker 5 (24:32):
Has this been about building through the draft and investing
in guys like Chris Jones.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
It's the best defense Kansas City has had, Yeah, at
least since Arrik Thomas. I don't think it's arguable. I
mean it's well it is through the draft. I mean
they traded Tyreek Hill and they got a bunch of picks,
and that Tyreek Kills trade is probably the rare trade.
Both teams will do it again, even though the Chiefs
a receiver. It's a mess. I mean they want to
throw Bowl last year. Miami of course would do it
in a heartbeat. And the Chiefs turned some of those

(24:59):
picks with the trend Duffy and George carl Office and
Brian Cook and you know, they just they hit on
a lot of picks, Nick Bolton and Willie Gay, you
know Lagarious eight years ago. They've just found guys Joshua Williams,
Jalen Watson. They drafted really, really well. They brought in
good free agent signings, small signings like Drew Trankle who's

(25:20):
played excellent football for them and the way he can,
Bolton getting hurt. And it's also Stagnolo who now is
just living in his nirvana because you can just blitz
from anywhere on the field at any time and nobody
ever knows what's coming. I think that's the secret sauce
with them is they blitzed everybody. I mean literally anywhere, anybody, anytime,

(25:40):
doesn't matter the down. Addition, they'll just bring the guys
and it's caused a lot of problems. Their defense is
definitely better than their offense, mostly because their receivers catch
like me, So they are in that regard.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Matt, before you go, last week was mix it a
little college to go with the NFL, The Bears, Vegas Chargers,
maybe new If Fellowchick moves on, Harbaugh will be the
coach of which team next year?

Speaker 6 (26:04):
The Bears, because that's what I think. You've got a
history there, Big ten Country, yep, and the Bears. I'm
base in the sky like that. That franchise has to
do something significant. They cannot fire eber Flus and just
say hey, we're gonna go hire so and so who
is a defensive assistant that all you linebackers coach. They can't.

(26:26):
They can't. They've got to make a real run at
horriball and even though they probably don't want to, they
can open up the purse strings as much as anybody
love it.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Man, Matt, keep up the great work and we'll talk
to you.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Again soon, Bud anytime, guys, take care.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
That's Matt Verderam. Good word. Get him on.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Tonight's talk a little NFL. All right, we got a
lot going on. I don't know if we have any
good games. They just had an incredible delay in this
Texas Texas Tech game because of an injury to Cameron Wats,
who's taking off the field on a stretcher.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
But Seger has the scores.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
And everything going on in the world of sports with
what's trending, what's going on Steve Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
Who's back from his vacation, made him work today? What's
going on in sation? He had the day off yesterday?

Speaker 3 (27:04):
The Seger is he off now too?

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Is that rottencation? There there were there?

Speaker 6 (27:09):
You go?

Speaker 4 (27:09):
What you forget out to present button?

Speaker 8 (27:11):
Co anchor does not hold the buttons. Cameron Watts, by
the way, the announcers looked at the replay after a
collision with a teammate.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
They didn't fired to say yes.

Speaker 8 (27:22):
They did say he had movement in arms and legs initially,
but yes, he was strapped down and carted off in
the game at Texas, which the Longhorns lead with about
five minutes left third quarter thirty six to seven. Apparently
Cameron Watts is related to J. C. Watts, the former
Oklahoma quarterback. We do have a good football game going
on Fox TV, and each team ranked in the top

(27:43):
twenty and Oregon's Heisman contender Bo Nicks at quarterback has
a touchdown run and a touchdown pass. The Ducks lead
Oregon State with about nine and a half minutes to
go in the third, twenty one to seven. As for
eleventh ranked Penn State, it's a forty two to nothing
lead over Michigan State in the final minute in Detroit.

(28:03):
Earlier this evening wins for Missouri and Oklahoma, Twulane and
Iowa with wins today. Seventeenth ranked Iowa wins another close game,
and Nebraska wins. Yeah, nothing, they have no close wins.
It seemingly in this century.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
It went under though it went under twenty four and
a half.

Speaker 8 (28:22):
Yeah, I heard that this was like a record of
twenty five total points. Yeah, twenty four nine, and I
still didn't get to twenty five points even with a
field goal final play thirteen to ten Iowa the final
Nebraska with three turnovers Tomorrow on Fox TV. Number two
Ohio State at number three ranked Michigan noon Eastern time.
Four games on FS one tomorrow. NFL Washington Fire defensive

(28:44):
coordinator Jack del Rio and his defensive backs coach Washington
lost forty five ten at Dallas yesterday. Miami now eight
and three after winning at the Jets pretty easily today
in the streaming Black Friday game thirty four to thirteen.
Jets quarterback today Tim Boyle was set seven times Raheem
Moster two fourth quarter touchdowns. He had twenty carries ninety

(29:05):
four yards. RAMS Wide receiver Cooper Cup will play Sunday
after a sprained ankle last weekend. He was stepped on
while blocking. They go up against the Cardinals, who are
two and nine. Bengals wide receiver T Higgins with the
bad hamstring, will be out again Sunday against the Steelers.
The Patriots, at two and eight, declined to name a
starting quarterback for Sunday's game at the Giants, who are

(29:26):
three and eight. Texas Longhorns has scored again forty three
to seven over Texas Tech under five minutes to go
in the third. By the way, earlier wins for Boise State,
which beat Air Force, and Utah State, which won in
double overtime at New Mexico to College Hoops in the
Bahamas third place game, North Carolina down to Arkansas on
a Top twenty matchup, eighty seven seventy two Ohio State

(29:49):
in Florida beat number seventeen Alabama. Also in Florida Top
twenty matchup. It was Florida Atlantic over Texas A and M.
In women's basketball Top ten matchup. UCLA beat Connecticut tonight
seventy eight to sixty seven. Number one South Carolina. Well
it won its game one oh one nineteen again eight

(30:10):
Oh my gosh, yeah, one oh one nineteen they play.
That was Mississippi Valley State, the Jerry.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Rice alma mater.

Speaker 8 (30:18):
Wow, they are one and five.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Call off the press coach, come on now.

Speaker 8 (30:22):
And number twelve Texas in women's hoop's won one oh
one thirty nine against High Point in the Virgin Islands.
By the way, that win for number two UCLA against
Connecticut that was in the Cayman Islands. There are tournaments
all over the place these days, men's and women's, and yes,
the NBA in season tournament as well. People, I know
you were clamoring for it. So yes, here's the scores. Well,

(30:45):
some New York Knicks did win by two over my one.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Hundred JIP Championship.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
One hundred to ninety eight. They're playing for the NBA
Cup and and some bonus cash. But I'm sure the
NBA Cup is first and four most in the forefront
of the minds of all these players. Semi's in final
of this end season tournament or at Las Vegas December
seventh and ninth, Indiana sent Detroit to a thirteenth straight loss,

(31:11):
one thirty six, one thirteen wins. Today for Phoenix and Orlando.
The late game Golden State hosting the Spurs, just getting underway.
The Spurs have.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
Lost ten in a row. Back to you, thanks Steve.
It's forty three to seven. Okay, Texas is blown out
Texas Tech. Yeah, but we've had a Paul Pierce moment
in this game. Xavier Worthy was carried from the sidelines
to the locker room. I didn't dream this right. Literally,
two trainers were carrying him off the field and he

(31:42):
just scored a touchdown in his returning punts. I have
noah either. It was one of the most incredible mister
Miagi massages he got in that.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
I don't know how did he get back like that.
It's like the movie I forget.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Have you ever seen the movie Heaven Can Wait? Where
the guy's getting carried off the stretcher and the guy
got put in that guy's body and he just hops
on up and goes back in and plays quarterback.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Well, you don't really have a lot of recent movie reference.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
No, oh, come on, that's a that's a century.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Come on, I know you gotta keep it kind of
tight here, right.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
I guess Hey.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
When I think young and hip, I think Jason Smith
and Mike Harmon Arnie.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
We've got to be on top of our game too.
That's true. That's true.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
You're right about and.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
Oregon is about ready to I think put this thing
out of reach. Yeah yeah, twenty one to seven. They've
got it first in goal at the nine yard line.
So Oregon about to eliminate Arizona. Butt, you might get
your dream, you might get to play us in the Alamo.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
But I look, I really, like I said, I don't
want to play a bullone team, but if I have
no choice.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
You know, I was kind of feeling the same way
for Oklahoma. I don't want to play some scrub team.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Like are we gonna play some bet on that? Like
if Arizona wins, Oklahoma basketball has to come out and
play in Tucson.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Sure that's the bet. I have all that power and
can make it happen. But I would say I think
both teams are in play for a New Year's Day
six Bowl. Now, you guys have a lot of work
to be done as far as the rankings are. Concerned,
but well, you got to be in the top twelve
right now. Arizona's fifteen, Oklahoma's thirteenth. So yeah, maybe maybe

(33:28):
slide up a little bit here. We'll crush Arizona State. Yeah,
we'll crush them. We'll beat them like a drum.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Oh. I hate it when you talk like this.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Oh, it's not even gonna be closed sho Oh my dudness.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Did you see that interception in the Texas game.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
It hit off the receiver's foot and bounced to the
defensive lineman who took it to the house for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
It hit off the wide receiver's foot.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
Actually, I think it was their running back out on
a in a in a flair pattern and hit off
his foot and bounced right up to the I think
it's one of their linebackers. It's bush and he took
it to the house for a touchdown. I don't think
I've ever seen that before. No, I'm all invested in
the Oregon State game.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Home.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I know you're not even watching whole I gotta watch
it again.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
It hit dude, It hit off his shoelace, It hit
off the top of his foot, and it pounced up
the bush who took.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
It to the house.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
That's one of the wildest interceptions I think I've ever seen.
And uh, I don't think Oklahoma's gonna get the help
that they needed from Texas Tech tonight, extra point pending.
It's forty nine to seven Techs. Wow over Texas Tech.
Oh my, oh my goodness, this is not going well
tonight for Texas Tech. Jed Bush takes into the house
and now it's twenty. Hey, you held him to a

(34:42):
field goal, Arnie. Yeah, still too little, too late. I
mean now they're gone by seventeen.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
Now, well, you're I cannot lie. How can you review this? Now?

Speaker 5 (34:52):
You gotta go watch this replay. I've never seen anything
like that before in my life. I thought it hit
off the turf, but literally off his foot and right
to Jet Bush. Well, that means I can turn this
football game off. Now I can turn on your beloved
NBA and see what's going on. All right, let's hit
some texts and some tweets when we come back. That's
Arnie Spaniel. I'm Chris Planks sitting in tonight for Jason

Speaker 5 (35:58):
I'm surprised you to make this like the top story, Arnie.
With arch manning in the game for Texas, You're already out.
You're not even watching this, are you?

Speaker 4 (36:07):
I'm not watching. I told you I'm watching Oregon Organ
What TVs you?

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Richard?

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Come on, I'm not I'm in my studio, so I
don't have two TVs at my studio.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
I've never understood that you put your two TVs in
your sitting area, but not in your studio to where
you know you actually might have two games going.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
I got working now. I can't watch two games and
work at the same time.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
I am.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
I've got the Oregon State Oregon game up on one
TV and they got the Texas Texas Tech on the other,
both in commercial right now?

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Mate, is arch manny if you're gonna stay there or
is it gonna transfer?

Speaker 6 (36:38):
Now?

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Their quarterbacks coming back for text?

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Don't know if he's coming back. I'm no, he didn't.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
There was a report that he was coming back, and
then as soon as that up, Yeah, yeah, as soon
as that report came out, it was quickly with that. Yeah,
he hasn't quite made up his mind yet what he
wants to do. Hey, quinn Ewers comes back, has another
good year in the SEC. Who's to say he wouldn't
be the top quarterback in next year's draft, you know,

(37:05):
not a fight over the third or fourth or fifth
and this year's draft.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
But we'll see.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
And arch mannings in the game and literally Texas is
just clowning Texas Tech right now. I mean they are
humiliating Texas Tech.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Fill the ball or are they just headed it off?

Speaker 6 (37:23):
Well?

Speaker 5 (37:23):
That's what we were just talking about during the break.
He's been on for two play, three plays and they've
all been handoffs.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
Okay, you better not be throwing it.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
Twenty four to seven, Oregon is up on Oregon State two,
which is about to do one of two things. Number One,
a diminish any hopes that Arnie has of his Arizona
Wildcats making the Pack twelve championship game next week. And
b we're gonna get into this in an hour three
Whenever I was trying to get your attention on the
Roman Numeral rundown this week. Yeah, I wanted to see

(37:54):
if you were as in on Oregon as the.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Playoff committee seems to be. So hang on to that
one right now.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
We'll go all in in a bit, but they gotta win,
so maybe we wait until this game is over. But
find you someone that loves you as much as the
playoff committee seems to love Oregon. You might say, well,
they haven't moved them up, and they haven't moved him down, right,
they're waiting to. And if you hear them talk about Oregon,
you're like, dang man, I wish my boss, I wish
my girl or my wife talked about me like that,

(38:21):
So we'll dive into that a little bit.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
If they had a choice, well okay, but I'm just saying,
if all the choice, they prefer to probably have Oregon
over Washington.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
I'm guessing there, do you think?

Speaker 2 (38:30):
So?

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Yeah, definitely one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
Show your work.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
Why. Well, one, it's a bigger and better fan base too,
isn't it. They also travel better. I don't know, you're
my PAC twelve experts, and they have more of a
national fan base, you know, with all the uniform changes
and and all that. I just think they'd benefit more
with Oregon, especially with all that crazy offense and stuff.

Speaker 5 (38:51):
Okay, I I kind of thought that you always tell
me that the greatest university in the world is Arizona,
So I thought they might try to fix this to
get Arizona in there.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
But you're seventy.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I would love another shot at Washington. Arizona played them
so tough. We're better than Oregon. We just didn't get
a chance to kick their asses.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Ship. Do you do you really believe that you think
Arizona based on have.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
You not been watching US teams in college?

Speaker 4 (39:22):
But we've beaten four ranked teams in a row.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Well, but where were those ranked teams after?

Speaker 4 (39:28):
You know, if we started the top twenty five, we'd
be played in the playoff, would be like the.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Top No, you have three losses.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
We wouldn't have three losses. Oh my god, we lost
we lost two games?

Speaker 5 (39:40):
What usc trip for a moment here, you think if
you were ranked in the preseason top twenty five, you
wouldn't have three losses right now? Oh, you don't think
it has anything to do with what happened on the
field in these games.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
It was about your ranking.

Speaker 6 (39:53):
No.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
I think the triple overtime loss that that we should
have back. We should have won that game.

Speaker 5 (39:59):
If only that was a thing in sports. Can I
please have back that game we should have won that
we didn't.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
And while we're doing that, I want to win back
the game back from Mississippi State too. You should be
losing the garbage teams like that, Paul Wrights the Jets
plan today.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
This is on Twitter, which is the best way. Where
are you people tonight? Are you all like hanging out
with your families or something?

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Stopping? Get here?

Speaker 5 (40:20):
What else is there to do on a Friday night?
That stinking genius one I'm at playing show? Paul Wrights.
The Jets plan today was clearly to put it was
clearly to put the worst quarterback to ever put on
a uniform in the game, so that they could say
to the fan base, see, Zach Kisson really that bad?

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Maybe right on that.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
Oh my gosh, I want to like that a thousand times.
It was one of those moments where Everend's like, there's
gotta be someone better than Zach Wilson, and like, actually,
here's the guy that you think might be better to
just terrible, I mean terrible, but I will add this.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
I willed this. Arnie. Do you think it's good news
for your Dolphins today? I do think it's good get
a win. I know you lost Jalen Phillips. I know
you don't care about any of the injuries or anything
like that.

Speaker 6 (41:08):
I do.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
I care about him.

Speaker 5 (41:09):
Okay, all right, But well, when we come back, I
want to get your take on just the whole Black
Friday experiment and whether or not you think it's a
good thing and it's something that will continue to grow
for the national football legore. Could it be like a
one hit wonder and something we don't talk about or
see again, we're talking Black Friday Dolphins Jets coming up next,

(41:29):
and keeping a tab on all the college football games
with Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio
