Let's give this parties, but you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello and welcome inside our three of The Jason Smith
Show with my bes.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Friend Mike Harmon. Sir, I'd like to spank your bald
head and lick it live from the tyrack dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Tyrack dot com. I'll hope you get there. An unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tyrack dot com the way tire buying should be. Now,
we are waiting and awaiting to hear from Doug Peterson,
Jaguars head coach. Jaguars fall to the Bengals tonight in

(01:00):
overtime thirty four to thirty one. Unbelievable night for Jake Browning,
which we'll get to. But the Trevor Lawrence story everybody
holding their breath right now. The Dolphins are the number
one seed in the AFC with the Bengals beating the
Jaguars tonight, but Trevor Lawrence's ankle injury could be the

(01:20):
biggest domino we've seen the last few weeks that could
affect the playoff chase. It was in the fourth quarter,
game was tied, Jaguars driving for what looked like was
going to be a go ahead score, and then this happened.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Third down and eleven. Lawrence goes down. Ball came out
and Lawrence is grabbing at his leg and he is
in serious pain. Fumble was recovered by Anton Harrison and

(01:55):
Lawrence can't get off the field.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Trevor is not happy with Love Washington.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
He's hurt too, got Trevor it? I hope fell to
the ground. Ball came out. Trevor hurt his legs. He's
throwing the helmet off now yep, and this is, oh
my goodness, this is what I'm afraid of.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
He's grabbing his achilles. It was a non contact he
tried to step up in the pocket. Oh he gets
stepped on. He got he got stepped on by his
own player.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
I think, yeah, Walker Little in his past set steps
on Trevor's ankle and the ball fell out.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
That's why he fell to the ground. That what I'm
and it's his right ankle.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
So there was ESPN and the Jaguars radio network, Tony
Boselli on the call there for the jag Well.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
What you heard in the analysis there is you watch
the replay and you certainly if you're on social media
you've seen the play a million times. You see from
the behind the play perspective, Parker Washington, the young receiver,
doesn't turn around, so Lawrence can't get rid of the football,
and that's what he's alluding to what he says he's

(03:01):
mad at him because the ball would have been out.
The ball would have been out, and he might not
have had any more of that traffic. Instead, he's got
to pull the ball back because Washington hasn't turned around
in his pass route, and that allows the time for
the pass rush to get back into him and to
go back.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Maybe Washington's not on the field, if Christian Kirk is
not hurt early as one pass the domino effect. Absolutely,
it was a play in which you'll probably see it
if you have not yet. Lawrence's is backed into by
his offensive tackle and Bengals defensive lineman gets his ankle
rolled on not once but twice, kind of with his

(03:41):
own body weight. The second time he stands up, Bengals
actually help him up and try to keep him up,
but he realizes I can't walk. He goes down on
both knees. He pounds the ground with his fist and
throws his helmet off. So that was a lot of
pain for Lawrence to be in. They came out and
checked him out. And then the biggest mystery, which I
still can't understand this. He's on the field, he gets

(04:04):
checked out, and he goes off not on a cart,
but in between two people who are helping him walk
off the field.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I mean maybe Austin Powers was stuck on the cart
in the tunnel. I don't know, but I don't understand.
I watched that and I go, how do you not
have the cart out?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
It's such a bad look organization that keeps getting cutted
out in the cart out? Oh, we needed the car.
Where was the cart? It was?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
It was bringing drinks around to somebody. Sorry about that.
We had the cart was up near the pool area
and it was good to I don't understand. And look
it does it seem like it's good news that Trevor
Lawrence was walking off the field with his arms over
two people, gingerly putting weight on his on his foot. Yeah,
but this is your franchise quarterback. This is this is it.

(04:53):
This guy is as valuable as the franchise. He's the
entire city. He's douval and you don't tell him. Dude, sit,
We're bringing the cart out for you. No, No, but
I can walk. I understand that.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
But I'm the doctor or I'm the head coach. You sit.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
No, No, but I feel good. No, you sit, This
is not your decision. You sit, and here comes the cart.
We get the cart to come out. You tell the doctor.
Doctor looks at him whatever. I don't understand. And and
then it's just two people that are bringing up There's
no crowd of teammates around him. There's no anything I mean.
And it's not like most other stadiums. The walk to

(05:27):
the Jaguars locker room is immense. We watched it was
like fifteen they I think they played like they were
in overtime. By the time Lawrence actually got to the
locker room, he was insane. He walks all the way
across the field, past the bench into the tunnel, and
the tunnel walk is forever, but we.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Get the full tunnel walk with someone walking backwards and
he's coming up the ram. The shot from the crowd,
which was one of the first videos of him being
helped to the sideline, it's agony, get help, so unsteady,
so he's got to help him. Like you can almost
hear what he's muttering under his breath with each step,

(06:09):
and it's just it's just awful, and it's such a
bad look for the organization. Now again he probably told him, no, no, no,
we're going off this time. I don't want a cart,
but this is what we're not your decision. But but
it just becomes another line that people can use against
the Jacksonville organization, right, trying to shed the the history

(06:33):
of just being well, you're the team that you know,
gave up home games and likes to go to London.
He shod God, likes to and just look small to
a small time.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
It looks small time for the Jaguars to not have
more people out there and a better way to take
care of your quarterback. And you know what got me
was You know, we've seen the camera angles before when
the cameraman is in the locker room, and usually it's
you know, we're like fifteen twenty feet in because you
see the shot of the player walking in through the tunnel,

(07:04):
but you can only see it for about fifteen or
twenty feet. Then you have the one guy who's fifteen
or twenty feet in and the player walks right by
him and then goes right into the locker room. No,
this camera angle, this guy he was like fifty feet
past Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence is still very small in
the camera.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Walk in Dowar.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
It's awful, Like how far away is this camera guy
from him?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Come on, well, look you're trying to catch the footage
but not be in the way or have someone potentially
remove you from said situation. So you've got all of
that flowing. But yeah, it's just a pained thing for
an organization, as you said, Mickey Mouse organization appropriate down
there in Florida. But you know, Jacksonville's all always seen

(07:50):
and been kind of ridiculed as all right, you're good
for Thursday night football and you're good as an outpost there,
and that's all fine and good as one of the
Florida teams. Maybe you'll eventually be the team that goes
and you know you you plant your flag in Europe
full time, all of these things and here where you
are leading the division, potentially fighting for the number one

(08:12):
overall seed, and then your quarterback, your franchise goes down,
and this is what your organization. This becomes the the
analysis of the kind of operation you're running. Here. There's
no cart. It's I mean, where was it. There's no
car there was It wasn't even on the sideline for
him to say, no, that's what ever got there? It's like,

(08:32):
what are we doing?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
It's like in the movie when you can't find it
and you find out the guy is like like trying
to hit on somebody.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Go hey, so yes I drive the cart and I go,
oh oh well, let me get out there. Let me
get out there. It's like, where are you men? Trevor
Lawrence is on the field. No no, no, can get
it to start. No no no. But like that that
took over, like my mentions of this game in my timeline,
whether it was x TikTok, Instagram, all of it. As
you're scrolling, you know, because we're always looking for stories

(08:59):
and now else is certainly want an immediate reaction to this,
Like it was as much about the cart as it
was the injury. Like people just didn't sensed just for
the optics of all, Right, there goes Trevor Lawrence. He's injured.
Where's the cart, Where's the medical professionals coming to offer assistance. Nope,
there's two guys propping him up as he makes the

(09:20):
long walk, and it gets longer every time you look
at it. Cartgate, right, every time you watch the video though,
it seems like he's walking an extra forty yard Mike,
I've been to that stadium many times. It's the longest
walk to the locker room ever. Yeah, but I mean
the way it's constructed, right, and when we had that
because if you go to any of the other facilities,

(09:41):
you know, non NFL, but go to I mean, look
that jump that they have that they're trying to get
rid of, that the rays playing, I mean, same thing.
You got corridors for miles that you've got to get
to to get to your seats and anywhere of import
and so no surprise here, but just terrible optic. I mean,

(10:01):
all the best for Trevor Lawrence, you know, one of
those guys that you know, we we've rooted for, kind
of watching him come into his own and watching what
this Jaguars team was becoming. And now you know, the
future uncertain with five games left to play, suddenly opening
the door for the upstart Houston Texans. And I got
to imagine immediately in the aftermath of the injury, some

(10:24):
money started coming in, even more so on the CJ.
Stroud MVP train. We feel pretty good about well, no,
because you open the door, like because we've talked about
it a lot, right, you got to get to the playoffs.
You gotta win the division, not just be a wildcard,
but if you go win the division. Now, they got
five games to go do that, and you know what,
he can start with a big performance against your Jets

(10:47):
this week. Uh, we'll have time to get to that.
We will. We will. We will have time to get
to that. We will. I mean it's only Monday. We
got a whole week to build that out. But in
the immediate aftermath of this, I mean you start thinking
of the ramification, no disrespect to the greatness that is CJ. Bethard,
who acquitted himself nicely. Yeah, it was fine. It was great.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Great to see another guy who hasn't thrown a football
and is like, you know, Damon Wayns in any given
Sunday throwing up on the sideline eating cheetos. Oh, go
in the game and play well, Jets can't find a
guy to do that. But everybody else, Yeah, I'm not sorry,
Jamie Fox, Jamie Fox, Damon Wayams was Last Boy Scout. Okay,
I conflated my late eighties quarterbacks, nineties quarterbacks in NFL.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I really thought you were dipping into Celtic pride.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
No, Damon Wayiams is Last Boy Scout and Jamie Fox
any givens, Yeah, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Think Damon Wayams threw up in Last Boy Scout.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
He was also a detective. That was a movie where
a guy shot somebody right off he wanted to get
touched down. You know that was Billy Blanks. Actually, yeah,
Billy Blanks is a running back, Billy Cole. Billy Billy
Cole is having a game of his life out there.
But really it this It baffles me at times when
I see something like this and I go, this is.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
The NFL, man, This is the NFL, And this is.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Can you imagine Patrick Mahomes, Okay, Mahomes goes down at
home and a couple of guys come out, some dude
you don't even know who it is, just some guy
you could be the Eagles chief of security out helping
him off the field.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Just two guys.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
And no, no, you're gonna walk off the field and
take that really long walk Patrick, take that look. No, no, no,
I mean it's dude. You sit and we come. We
bring a card for you. We bring a card for
you and I and I and for the philosophy of hey,
he didn't want one, he probably overruled them.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I get the power of Trevor Lawrence in that situation.
You don't want to do anything to upset somebody. You
got hurt all But you're a doctor, you're the head coaches. No, dude,
this is not your decision. You wait here and you
get on a cart. This is what happens. Yeah, medical
professionals have to take over here.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
You wait. You not about adrenaline and not about hubrisk.
It's not about optics positive of saying hey I'm walking,
I can walk. I'm trying to convince folks I'm okay
because in that moment. You don't have to be the
Only thing that matters is the results of an MRI tomorrow.
Right how you get off the field and down the
tunnel and back into the locker room. Nobody gives a

(13:15):
damn except to now mock your squad for not taking
care of business. Exit? How about a Fresca exit?

Speaker 1 (13:22):

Speaker 1 (14:31):
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon
live from Thetirack dot Com studios. Jason and Mike as
we are breaking down the Bengals big win on Monday
Night football, beating the Jaguars thirty four thirty one. It
was an amazing night for Jake Browning, which we'll get

(14:52):
to because I'll tell you what. Yet another guy, Hey,
guess what i'n come off the bench would be great,
another guy that Jets don't have. But clearly the Trevor
Lawrence situation is front and center and ankle injury. We
played the the play by play for you earlier. Fourth quarter.
He gets rolled up on by one of his players
and also rolls over onto his own ankle. He has

(15:14):
helped off the field with no cart, which makes no sense.
According to Adam Schefter and reports from the team, there
is going to be an imaging tomorrow. He's gonna have
an MRI, but right now the official diagnosis is a
sprained ankle.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
What did Jaguars head coach Doug.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Peterson have to say about the injury and the subsequent
you know, no cart. Let's take a listen to some
of Doug Peterson from just a couple of moments ago,
answering questions about Lawrence and the game. Well, I didn't
know it was so loud in Jacksonville tie shirt.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
They're very upset. I could tell you could have heard
a pin drop after Trevor Lawrence hit the turf. Yeah,
when did you could hear a pin drop? When? When?
When Tommy turned locked the door? You gotta know when
nicely done? I have the follow up if you wanted
to TJ clearly the coward of the county. Okay, you
ever hear the breakdown of that off with the old

(16:10):
Adam Carolla show. I asked again, I have the follow up.
I asked again.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Okay, So you're asking Doug Peterson again about the status
of Trevor Lawrence's injury and the game suck.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
These you know, I'm not very happy. I didn't know
he was Irish.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Doug Peterson, he actually has a little Irish I have,
Doug Peterson.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
I want to see if there's any uh notes about
his heritage. Yes, yes, what do you want to talk about?
We'll talk about whatever you want to talk about. You
actually did you are Irish? Goodbye? Just walked away back door? Hey,
where do you go and say? You could save a
couple of days a year if you just walk away
instead of saying goodbye to people and even part not

(16:50):
just parties but at work and whatever else, walk out
the door, you can.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Save two days worth. Yeah, wow, just by not saying
about it. But yeah, because you get caught up in conversation.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
It's like like I do the Sunday morning Fox Football
Sunday Show, right Brooks, and yeah, nay. I try to
get out of here, Like I sat here for a
half hour helping Steve Hartman turn in his heisman ballot
yesterday because I was here too late. He got here
really early, and he's like, hey, Mike, maybe you can
help me. Because he had a whole thing with his
password and getting into the like I'm really trying to leave.

(17:20):
I want to go home. I got here really early,
so like that's two hours I can add to my
two days of my life.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I think you're gonna say people trying to avoid you,
Well that too. Oh he's gonna talk about the Bears again.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
You know what, I I don't talk nearly as much
about the Bears as you lament Bears. The fact that
the Jets didn't grab a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
The Jets stink and absolutely stinking. I gotta watch it
play out, you know what.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Back in the hunt on the graphic, I know, well,
I think they put everybody on there.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
It's the NFC. Yeah, let's put everybody on there.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Team no exactly get him back in cutlets who knew?
All right? So here I'm thinking is Doug Peterson. I
mean he might have had more to say.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I mean maybe minus the Irish accent. Here is Doug Peterson,
Jaguars head coach, on the injury to Trevor Lawrence and
the fallout from it.

Speaker 8 (18:11):
I don't have any information yet on Trevor. We're still
evaluating him, you know, so he'll have more you know,
tests and things done here tonight and tomorrow, so I'll
probably have a better update for you tomorrow on that.
But I mean, yeah, we had position players go down,
you know, but look, that's that's part of the game,
you know, and it happens, and and it's unfortunate, but

(18:34):
you know, next guy up has to has to be
ready to go and play.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Uh and and I we'll make sure we uh get
the card out for him next time as well.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah, the cart thing seemed to be the obvious follow up. Yeah, like,
you know, my older daughter get she finished a uh
you know, nurse's assistance program, and that's the path she
wants to go down. So normally it's like anything good
happen in the game. I go, well, nothing good. We're
talking about a quarterback getting hurt. It's like, well what happened?
I'm like, and I sent her the video. It's like, oh,
they must have really, you know, rushed to help him off,

(19:07):
like they No, they did rush to help him. I go, well, yes, man,
they did, but there was no cart. She goes, how's
there no cart? Like? Jin watch football general like, but
it's like the obvious thing. Let a car the guy
often help him out.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
I love Eleanori where's the cart? Where's the first question
was where's the car? Eleanor Harmon, nineteen year old nursing student,
Go hey, Jeff.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Cart for him? Where's the cart? Did you help out
your franchise quarterback? Do you have a car? How many
millions of dollars? Is Trevor Lawrence worth? Okay? Do you
have a cart for him?

Speaker 1 (19:37):
No?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Card? Got it? Okay, that's great. First thing, we need
to buy whatever he wants in the vending machine. Second
thing upgrades to the cart level.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Let let's let's be honest here and let's let's look
at this from from the positive perspective of the fact
that he did walk off the field. Being helped off
is a better sign than obviously his leg the mobilized.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
They put in an air cast.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
You know, yes, a little bit of pressure, right, I
got and maybe that's a good thing. But the bottom
line is you can't mess around with that. You don't
know anything that even the doctor doesn't know a lot
everything until they get him in to look at it
and see the imaging and see what is and you're.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Okay, yeah, yeah, let him Let him just get helped
off the field. Let him get helped off the field and.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
How are forty teammates not around him going hey dude,
hey dude, we need we need to I mean.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Really well, I mean, what the hell? Man? Well, I
think part of that, part of that you could have
attributed to that was the end of a play that
was a third down play, so field goal unit, special
teams coming on. So a little bit of a transition
to where maybe like, all right, plays over and you
go and you don't recognize right away that he's down

(20:44):
and hurt. So maybe I don't give him all the
past because clearly there's other guys on the right side
of the field that have to run past what's transpired.
But yeah, I you know, for the most part, I
think I could say all right, teammates might not have
wreckoned gnised in the moment what had transpired and that
he was back there. I don't know, man, your quarterback

(21:05):
is on the ground, You're out now? Are you trying
to start a narrative that they hate Trevor laws just
like the saying where like everything looks so small time?
Everything looks small time tonight here's Trevor Lawrence being helped out.
Where are all those teammates around him? Going, we got
you man. We all is what's what's happening here? What's
happening is it's it's a communication breakdown and then you

(21:26):
gotta do the song. If you look community, I figured
you would. I would just lob it up for you
to do. Do you think ty Shit knows the communication breakdown?
I think he is. He's a well versed in classic rock. Bob.
He does no way, there's no eat. Are you talking
about me? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
The song communication breakdown? Yeah, I think that was by
j low Yes, very good. Yes. On the Jenny on
the Block LP. That's what I thought.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
See there he goes, he knows going all the way back? Yeah,
Jenny on the Block. Uh yeah, once you're on the block,
you don't leave them.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Well, I think generally what she does when she needs
to reinvent herself and get a little bit of heat,
she pretends to be back on the block.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
I think she put the pictures on Instagram. Well look
a look at me and my and and she's somebody.
We gotta clone her because she just defies and look
there are several Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
That's what I want. That's what I want. Those kind
of jeans Jason for Christmas I know.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
I tell you, yeah, there's no question about it. I
look at my dad and I go, yeah, I'm gonna
get your jeans.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Okay, I think she's Jenny from the COVI sac. Now
hold a minute, cold the sack Jenny from the gated community.
This is true.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
Uh So we'll have more on Trevor Lawrence as we
find out tonight. Again according to Adam Schefter. According to
the Jaguars, it will be imaging and an MRI for
Trevor Lawrence tomorrow. Meanwhile, Jake Browning tonight for the Bengals.
And again this is just stuff that pisses me off. No,
I mean, I'm happy for him, man, I'm happy for
the Bengals. The Bengals win this game. Browning goes thirty

(22:56):
two for thirty seven, He throws for three fifty four
and a touchdown, and they win in overtime to improve
to six and six. The Bengals bodied by Jake tonight.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
There it is, there are a lot of you want
to explain to people who that is.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
There are a lots a while ago, there were a
lot of close talkers in Seinfeld, but when you get
to Steinfeld, it's a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
So Steinfeld. This is this is what you know. I
want you.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
I once dated a girl. We didn't date very long,
went on two or three dates, and we would talk
and she said how much she loved this is when
Seinfeld was like probably in its second or third year.
She would say, I loved Zech. I love that Steinfeld show.
And I was like, Jake Steinfeld doesn't have a show.
I just love stein Steinfelder is so fun side And
it was one of those things where I'm like it
was a trigger in my head where I'm just like,

(23:51):
we can't date. And I felt like a Seinfeld episode,
we can't date because you keep calling it Steinfeld. It's
not Steinfeld. It's Seinfeld, not steinfeldt sech. If you watch
ESPN during the day to watch Joe Fisman and and
and and Gilla and and all the and and uh
what was it?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Uh? Uh what was her name Smith?

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Uh not Shelley Smith whatever it was doing all these
exercise videos and Keana tom who was doing all the
uh the exercise shows during the day, Then I get it,
but you're talking about Seinfeld, not Steinfeg.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Folks don't remember that ESPN once upon a time was
about a third of the day was fitness. Oh yeah, yeah,
you get an NFL show from ten thirty to eleven.
Then it was Kea Tom there would be a dancing show.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Then you would get an NFL yearbook for like three hours,
and then you get I mean that was the nineties.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Man. You know Jake Steinfeld sixty five years old, that
was Brooklyn. Yeah, of course he is the one thing
I was always jealous of.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Not here's a cab driver and coming to America when
he when he when he gets in the cab like
Rada mets that, but not that he was jacked or whatever.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah. The guy had a great head of hair. He did.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that was It's definitely a
late eighties, early nineties New York.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
City had a hair. Yeah, that's a question. Glorious. But
speaking of New York, right, this is now watching Jake
Browning and it's just leaping depressing for me. Man, I
get it because they're line it up one after another.
He's everybody coming in.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
That's a backup quarterback is playing well, right, you know,
for all the stuff with Zach Wilson and the Jets
and the Jets can't find a quarterback and all woe
is us because Aaron Rodgers got hurt. I get it.
I get it that Aaron Rodgers got hurt, and that sucks.
It sucks for the Jets. It sucks for me most
of all, more than anybody else, maybe Ben for Aaron Rodgers.

(25:38):
But he's able to still make money, so it's okay.
But it sucks. But at the same time, the Browns
lost their franchise quarterback, the Vikings lost their franchise quarterback,
the Bengals have lost their franchise quarterback, and the Colts
have lost their franchise quarterback. Not only that, three of
those teams also lost the best player at their position.

(26:01):
For this laundry list of guys that the Browns asked
Nick Chubb, who is the best running back in the NFL.
The Vikings lost Justin Jefferson, who is at worst the
second best receiver in the NFL. And the Colts lost
Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who they lost him for the first
four weeks of the season. He's been out the last
couple He's gonna miss some more. These are the top
players their position, and yet look at all they're all

(26:22):
still winning. The Bengals Browning got the Bengals to win
tonight thirty four to thirty one. Right, you can't sit
here and tell me that Dorian Thompson Robinson, who helped
the Browns win Joe Flackewell came off as bleeping couch. Okay,
how two touchdowns?

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Like part of you is like this is cool because
it's a guy from the two thousand and eight draft class,
because that's what I'm cleaning to anymore, and I wear
it on my sleeve like Lebron James and other guys.
You might have issues with him, but the old guys,
as long as they keep playing, I feel okay, I
don't feel like I've crossed into that other threshold just yet.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
He comes off the couch, nearly wins the game. There's
a bad pass at the end, but other in that
and took pretty good tea, pretty good All these guys
are keeping their teams in the playoff hunt so and
none of them And it's not like Tim Boyle Trevor
Simeon are any different than these guys.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
They're no different. But the fact that they can all
come in and the teams can still win games, and
I don't mean win and go wow, here they are
they haven't missed a beat. No, but when you miss
your superstar quarterback? Okay, can you stay afloat? Can you
stay in the playoff? Win a game? They're all in?

Speaker 1 (27:26):
But the Jets are done because the Jets are a
tear down. You can't tell me they have a great
roster because they would win more games if they did.
Because all these other teams are fighting away with with
missing more players and just their quarterback, and they're winning
and the Jets can't. That's why the Jets. I keep
telling you the Jets are a tear down. Well, the
fact that let Aaron Rodgers play GM.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
And it's something you and I have talked about for
the long We talked about it before the season even began,
that that was going to be a problem. Right, is
that you're you're banking on And look, I don't begrudge
any man getting his contract, his money, and if you
can bring your friends long for the ride, have at it.
But Lazard and Randall Cobb when you could have gone
into the marketplace and gotten serviceable receivers. No, I get that.

(28:08):
But and but it's predominant effect. Right, You let him
bully you, not just hey, use what you're gonna pay me,
But I'm bringing my band to marry men with me
and and Hackett being one of them.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
And that's and and and that's absolutely legit. But everybody
else kind of prepares for the season and surrounds their
quarterback with the guys they like, not quite to the
extent that Rogers says, I want Lizzard and I want Cobb,
but they still do it. And hey, there's no quarterback
and we still find our way around it. And the
Jets can't, right. I mean, you could sit here and say, hey,

(28:40):
wins are not a stat for quarterbacks, but they are.
They're a stat for gms and head coaches. And the
fact that Joe Douglas in five years has a three
thirty winning percentage and Robert Solind almost three is a
three thirty winning percentage. The Jets need new lead, They
need a new GM, they need a new head coach,
new offenseive coordinator. They are again, they're a tear down
all right. Eight would make it better, certainly, and maybe

(29:02):
it would be a little bit better, But how good
would they really be if this is who they are
without it?

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Did you have a piece of cake for his birthday?
I did not. I had cake, but not for his birthday.
It was coincidence.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
I probably had I had cake on Aaron Rodgers' birthday,
but I didn't have cake for his birthday.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
See, now you have an excuse to go home and
eat cake.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
I mean, it's just everybody else finds a way, but
the Jets can't.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Right.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Why do you have two five game losing streaks and
two straight seasons because you stay because you're the Jets.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Right exactly, and you can't. You can't find your way out.
And this will make you feel better. Ready, who else?
Trevor Wilds was playing play Sunday.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Four of the seven current AFC playoff teams will start
a backup quarterback in Week fourteen.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
They have it, and none of them are the Jets,
Not one of them, not one. No.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
And that's that's why you can sit here and say
it's a great issue. It's a big issue for the
Jets to lose their quarterback, and you can get screwed.
But it doesn't need to be that way. It's not
just one team that's doing it, says well, they the
Browns are fighting away.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
No, it's everybody missing a backup quarter We're finding a
way to stay in.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Then we're finding a way to stay competitive and keep
a positive atmosphere around the team. And for all of this,
Oh hey, Robert Solid deserves a lot of credit because
the Jets haven't quit.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
He gets to go out there play no you.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Know what I'd like instead of getting a bad team
to play well, how about a good team?

Speaker 3 (30:11):
How about put a good team out there. You know
who the next guy is to join that list? Good team?

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Who Trubisky? If tribus games, the Jet should just disband.
They're just the to the the Cleveland Spiders of the
late eighteen hun We're just not gonna play those the
other piece he is quarterbacking. I mean, some're gonna get
sage brush man because you know they're they're being hunted

(30:36):
right now. It's just it's it's just you want looking
for blame. Yes, the quarterbacks stink because they're backups. But
it doesn't need to be this way. But it is
because the Jets are the only team. They can't find
their way out of the paper bag. They can't find
everybody else out of the paper bag. You tried, you
tried to run on All things must pass live. We
just celebrated the anniversary the other day.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Uh, you know, the sun doesn't last. That's it. Out

on his sprained ankle following tonight's game. He has started
all forty six games since being drafted number one overall
in twenty one. But nowadays that's like an iron Man show.
Oh yeah, that's like Ripkin. He's like, he's like Ripkin. Uh,

(32:16):
but we have a show. Hey, o Tani up date.
According to Ken Rosenthal, show Hao Tani today met with.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
The New York Match Show today. He did not meet
with Day.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
You want to talk about it? See a wild card team? Hey,
history team? The Guardians want to talk to you. Where
do they play?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Cleveland?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Who is it?

Speaker 3 (32:47):
They're in the American League, the guard Uh yeah, sure, okay.
Someone just says I am groot Okay. Uh Hey, the
Padres want to meet with you.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Oh no, no, no, We're only meeting with Major league teams,
not International League teams.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Right. PCL teams are not on the list. Right.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Uh no, no, show Heyo Tani today. According to Ken Rosenthal,
met with did not with quarterback. They do they do,
they do need but he can't throw for a year.
Remember me, that's better than what they got.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Ill care you. He'll take the year off.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Otani will throw lefty for the Bears and Alex is
making fun of your quarterback.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
He's got Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Alex still thinks so Tani plays football? He does, No,
who do you know they can put him in a game.
Who do you play with last year Celtics?

Speaker 3 (33:38):
He did. That's right, very good and went over and
took over the next league. That's right, he didn't. You know,
you're dude, you're right man. When you're hot, you're hot.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
No today show Hao Tani, according to Ken Rosenthal, met
with the Toronto Blue Jays, who talked, all of a sudden,
uh A, it either means A, the blue Jays are
out because this got out, or B this was meant
to leak to get other two to say, hey, if
you really think we're not gonna sign with the blue Jays,
all right, let's get going. Because I really fail to

(34:06):
see how if it's gonna be a six hundred million
dollar contract, show Atan is gonna say, yeah, I'm gonna
go play for the Blue Jays.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Yeah. I think the larger thing is I just don't
want to wait around. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
This is going to push things ahead and the Blue Jays. Look,
we've heard it's down to four teams, blue Jays, Cubs, Dodgers, Angels,
potentially other teams well, but the Mets apparently have moved on.
The Giants may or may not have moved on. We're
going to get something by Friday. Otani's going to go somewhere.

(34:38):
By Friday, we will know his team, whether it's for
two years until we're waiting to see if he pitches again,
or another team says, screw it, we know you're gonna
be healthy. We're gonna sign you for six years and
six hundred million, and when you come back to pitch,
you come back to pitch. Yeah, I think it's the latter.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
I think there's there's enough interest and this guy is
such a game changer, even if you don't know when
if he'll pitch again. The revenue streams and the way
that changes the business that you have is an entirely
different thing. When we talk about the Blue Jays. I
think there's something as related to the international rights and

(35:16):
stuff in terms of streaming that gets a little difficult
for you. Well, no, when you're trying to sell packages right,
you know, to to outside, you know, the country. Because
that's what the Angels were able to do to have
another revenue stream. I don't know that it works the
same way. I think you'd have to look into some
of that. But you know, one Canadian dollar is only

(35:38):
worth seventy five US sense.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Yeah, so maybe it's gonna be worth more money just
for that, so a little bit. We could sign for
seven hundred and fifty million if we'd say a Canadian But.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
I think, truly you get there's enough teams when you
talk about maybe the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Cubs,
the Giants, the Dodgers, there's enough suitors here that it's
he won't have to settle for the prove it contract.
There's enough interest, enough marketability and sales to be had. Yep.
I'm saying it's Monday night.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
By Friday night, we're gonna know where Otani is going.
It's gonna be a very short run. This week winter meetings.
We know the teams that are interested. He has an idea,
you know, he knows an idea of where he wants
to go. We're gonna know by Friday.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
You know what's great is it's over one hundred million
either way. White Sox aren't involved.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
