The way tire buying.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Should be, Well, it's getting down to it in the
fourth quarter, Giants and the Packers four and a half
to go, and it is the Giants suddenly powered by
Tommy Cutlets and his hundred and five yards passing tonight,
who lead the Packers in a shocker right now. Look,
(01:06):
it's one thing to say, Okay, the Giants, it's nice
and a nice little story going on here, but this
could be another win and Tommy Cutletz is a folk hero.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
They lead the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
They have the football twenty one sixteen to go under
five minutes in.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
The fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
De Veto's also run for seventy one yard, So it's
kind of like watching a Daniel Jones Prime game. Hey,
he's got a touchdown throwing, He's got seventy one yards rushing.
Sa Kwon Barkley's in the end zone for a couple
of touchdowns. It's like what the Giants expected two years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Yeah, Barkley just had a big run, and now it's
being reviewed as to whether he fumbled or not, which
would take away from all the greatness of a big
drive here. But yeah, your guy Tommy DeVito, all the
feel good story and good will and great copy that
it's given to the fish raps. And then whoever that
guy was hanging out on the sideline, he's priested, his agent,
(01:58):
his bookie.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I don't know it will be the same person. It
could be to be all of those things.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
I mean Mike North, our former colleague here at Fox
Sports Radio, longtime Chicago legend. He has had a bit
going on thirty years called the bookie Priest. Yeah, Oh,
I don't know. What has the same I don't know
what happened to the collection plate, your holiness. Wait, I
got to take this other call. Yeah, Bears plus three.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We're collecting from my losses last week, so we haven't again.
Four minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Giants have the
football for now with the review happening twenty one sixteen. Meanwhile,
the Dolphins in a thirteen to thirteen deadlock with the
Titans seven and a half to.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Go in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Both of these games have been slogs for the favorite teams.
The Dolphins played the majority of the first half and
into the third quarter without Tyreek Hill. Hill comes back
into the game. He's got sixty one yards receiving, but
the Dolphins still sitting at six sixty one yards and
Tyreek Hill sitting at sixty one yards. The Dolphins thirteen points.
(03:05):
This has not been a great night for them. They've
never been able to get on tracked, and this is
against a team that's four and eight on the road.
This should have been a rollover game for the Dolphins. Instead,
here they are fighting to just get a field goal
at some point to try to take the lead in
this game.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Now two touchdown favorites coming in to tonight's game, and
you watch Tyreek Hill off and obviously he came back
into the game and had that big possession where he
had a couple of catches. I think it was forty
six receiving yards on that. Offensively, from the run game,
you've gotten one hundred and thirty five total yards between
moster h Chen and Tungue Bi Looe with a couple
(03:41):
of scrambles for eleven yards, So you're moving the ball
just Tennessee's defense playing up to I guess some of
the preseason expectation that offensively they'd have their awards going
back to the Tannehills under center and trying to figure
out how that was gonna flow, whether Derrick Henry's production
was gonna jump off the cliff. But you thought the
(04:02):
defense would be solid well for a long time. They weren't. Tonight.
They showed up ready to harass to a tongue in
Bioloa at every turn.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Uh, the Dolphins are gonna have to punt.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
It was third down near midfield at Tua gets sacked,
So the Titans are gonna get the football back.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Six and a half minutes left to go in this one.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
So I'll have more on these games coming up in
the next few minutes. But you know, you and I
have been doing this for a long time. I've been
doing this for a long time, and doing this there's
not a lot when it comes to players behavior that
shocks me because I'm seeing how things are and seeing
how teams react to certain developments. We've kind of seen it, sure,
(04:42):
But I got admit seeing the Patrick Mahomes melt down
last night following that loss to Buffalo that surprised even me.
And not only that, it was embarrassing for Mahomes all right,
not just after, not just during the game, after the game,
but we're gonna play what he said to Josh Allen
coming off the field following the game. That's just it's
(05:03):
absolutely embarrassing for Mahomes. Now, the play we've all seen,
the one of the best plays any of us will see,
the completed pass to Travis Kelcey who throws the football
all the way back across the field for Cadarius Tony
for a touchdown and unbelievable play a lightning strike in
the final two minutes of a game. But it gets
called back because Cadari is Tony lined up offside, and
(05:24):
you can see on the replay he lined up offside.
And when the Chiefs lost the game, Patrick Mahomes comes
off the field and is screaming at official Carl Cheffers
screaming at him, and you see reasonings out there after
the game. Well, sometimes you get warned for a play
like that. Sometimes you're not if you're lining up offside.
(05:45):
And here's Mahomes from the post game last night, really
losing it when it comes to that call.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Greetings, lovers of learning. Today, I'm going to discuss feet.
Everybody understand what feet are. M everybody knows what feet are.
Those of those things down at the bottom of your legs,
you know, you know the things that you put on
the floor.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah, you Rex Ryan in the back.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
No, that's good.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
And I don't know if if you just lucked into it,
but tyshoul actually playing something that had to do with
it because it was his foot that was offside.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
And Rex saying that he didn't like that foot. Yeah, yeah,
he really leaned into it today and that was a
good job by him.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
That's where you know what, how about how about I
sit this segment out? You know, you talking? How about
I decide. I know what's a big deal. Bring me
back in for the Eagles and the Cowboys. I'm gonna
sit this segment out there.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
He was relevant again today. This was great for Rex.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Uh. Here's Mahomes, upset about the call that took away
what could have been the game winning touchdown.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Anyhow, we have a pair of I want to find
feet here to demonstrate, to take a closer look at feet.
Would you stand out the feet please? Okay, come on
in here, feet, that's right, step right up here. I
see these things right here. These are our feet. See
the thing's down at the bottom here at the feet, Well,
those are part of the legs going up in that direction.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
But I didn't smell. I didn't.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I didn't know that Mahomes was actually giving a a
a a ted talk on feet and where they should
be very interesting. Uh So, I don't know what we're
gonna get.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I have no idea. Maybe we'll get more Rex, Ryan,
maybe we're gonna get more Kerbt the Frog. Uh.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Here is Patrick Mahomes, upset about the call last night.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Hi, ho, Kermit the Frog here today to talk about
the word in Now you see these two doors back here, Well,
this one here has the word in written on it. Okay,
fired up that this was the door you use when
you want to go in.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Then he's educating us on a lot of stuff today.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Mahomes is fired up about that man. It's he is
fired It's a.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Lot of passion in the show. Listening for the first time.
Jason's not going to get pouch Mahomes. Patrick, Mahomes sound
would never exist. It's like dumped into an ocean, all.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Right, So let's try to get Let's see, here's Mahomes
upset after the call last night.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
It's not that easy being green, having to spend each
day the color of the leaves when I think it
could be nicer, being red or yellow or gold or
something much more colorful like that.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, that was very you know, very forlornly looking back
at the at the blown cilt.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Well, but which was first? Did that come through? You know,
the litany of colors? He might have been just or
did Johnny Cash and the boy named Sue call me
Bill or George.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Anything but Sue?
Speaker 4 (08:50):
God, I hate that name. I mean, which came first?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
No?
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I think the green goes with the green, the great
green goes. It's it's holidays. Now green goes with green
holiday holiday holiday.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
He so again, here's Mahomes. You can tell how upset
he was.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Here's Mahomes how upset he was over the call that
he thinks costing the game.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
To happen on the flag changed outcome of a game
in that moment. I mean, I've played seven years, never
had that, never had offensive sides called. I mean that's
the that's elementary school we talk about. I mean, you
point to the ref do all that different type of
stuff and it doesn't get called. And if it does,
you they warn you. And there was no warning throughout
the entire game. And then you wait, there's a minute
(09:30):
left in the game to make a call like that.
It's just tough, man, I mean, lost for words, man,
It's just it's tough because regardless if we want to lose, man,
just just for that ended up with another game and
we're talking about the refs. Man, It's just not what
we want for for the NFL for football.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
I see again, I don't know what I'm more surprised
about that Mahomes said that or that we actually got Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Oh, Tycher definitely hit the wrong button.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
I think he did so there's Mahomes very upset. Okay,
and this was part of what was going on what
the Chiefs last night. Andy Reid was upset. Oh, they
usually tell you if you lined up off side, they
give you that little bit of a warning. But this
is what really got me about Mahomes. Here he is,
this is now, this is before he goes out and
does this postgame press conference. This is him walking across
(10:16):
the field and he of course he you know, congratulates
Josh Allen on the win. And this is what he
says when he goes across the field to Josh Allen
songs because someone gave him a guitar and he actually
(10:38):
started playing right away.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Now that would have been something someone come sprinting behind. No,
they're not trying to take his helmet before he meets
with the other quarterback. They're trying to hand him the
guitar and get the strap around his neck.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
So after that, after he played that song, everybody was
very happy. This is what he had to say to
Josh Allen, will find.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
Lorraine next, shine the Lovers, and.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Oh, you gotta finish the song. We had to finish.
We had to finish this all right.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
So after the song was over and he had his encore, apparently,
he called him out for an acre.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Jason, get the hit man, my man, get the hints.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Here is I just want to see how far you
can go. Here is Here is the homes and Josh
Allen after the game.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
These are feet and those little wiggly things on the
ends can't play the same. And one of the feet
is called a foot. Matter of fact, two of the
feet are called feet. Right, good, okay, Now let me
show you what he can do. One of the main
things that he can do is well, they can walk.
(12:00):
They can walk, demonstrate walk fet.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
No wonder Josh Allen was passed.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
No, wait a minute, how did you How many things
did Kermit the Frog do about walking and feet?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Mike, I know there's a lot of sesame streets.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
We're talking seventeen video. Yeah, I made it's a full
I mean these are full instructional videos. I mean they
really had to go in front of PBS and everybody
to make sure funding kept going through. So now in
the game, let's teach kids about a lot of stuff.
I really thought we were gonna get a little bit
of constantine from muppets. Most wanted I no.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
No, no, ty shirts. Have it too much finding these things.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
He's sweating.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
He's sweating his ASTs off right now, trying to find
new stuff really quick, typing it.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
What do I got? Can I got it? Can I
play you?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
I found my homes talking to himself. If you want it?
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Oh you fou o you have my homestalking to Josh Allen.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Yeah you want it.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Let's hear home talking to Josh Allen. Good.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
I didn't promise anybody anything. What do worry you know
about Hollywood anyway? Just the dreams I got from sitting
through too many double features. So where did you leave
this swamp in the first place? Of course, some agent
fellas that I had talent.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Well, he's doing all those commercials. He's he's got the
he's got the MA auto commercials.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Now, that was deep.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Yeah he is, I know, I get he is. Uh,
he's very concerned.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
All right, So now here is Mahomes really talking to
Josh Allen after the game.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Hey, Cott, gott.
Speaker 8 (13:27):
All right, I've had it.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Listen stop.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
I'll never find out what makes people angry because nobody
will stop long enough to talk to me.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Just now, that was great. I don't know what that is.
I don't recognize that from the movies, but I.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Love No, it's maybe that's an alba Josh Allen, Jim Henson.
Maybe Jim Henson was just mad at that point. You
wanted to get medicine.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
That was uh, that was his bill? O'Reilly moment I live.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I know I'm in character whore, but come on, I
need something diant cop guys, diet coke. All right, So
apparently we'll have to get to more to Mahomes and
Josh Allen coming up in a few minutes.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Oh, this is.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
Krimic of angry frog, and would you like to know
why I'm angry?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
The Titans have made two incredibly bad mistakes that have
given touchdowns to the Dolphins in the last few minutes.
So now a thirteen to thirteen game is now a
two touchdown lead for Miami with four and a half
left to go. Will have more on that coming up
as well, and the Green Bay Packers might be about
to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. They
(14:39):
have a two point attempt going on right now. They
do not get it, however. Their touchdown leads the Giants
twenty two to twenty one. Tommy Cutlets has a minute
and a half to get the Giants down the field
for what could be a game winning field goal. Keep
it right here. More on that, more on the patch, Mahomes.
(15:00):
They trust me. It's so embarrassing what the guy had
to do, what he said last night. Maybe we'll hear it,
maybe we won't. I don't know. It's that kind of night.
We're getting near the holidays. Everybody's crazy. It's coming up
next right here, Jason and Mike Fox, the talking Heads.

high drama? Tommy Cutlets, Ah, Tommy Cutlets, get that meat loaf,
heat it up, Gonna make it impossible for the Giants
(16:49):
to bring back Daniel Jones. Tommy Cutlets takes the Giants
down the field in the final minute thirty three, setting
up the game winning field goal. The Jobs go to
five and eight. They beat the Packers twenty four to
twenty two. Tommy DeVito one hundred and fifty eight yards
in a touchdown. He also ran for seventy one Yardsos
(17:11):
are going to be back on the Fox in the
hunt graphics. Next week at five and eight, Tommy Cutletz
continues Mike.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Harmon fantastic final drive. It goes a full eight plays,
fifty seven yards and a minute thirty three. After the
Packers had taken the lead touchdown and they were unable
to convert the two point conversion, Giants get the ball
and move down effectively. Robinson once again with a thirty
(17:43):
two yard gain off a DeVito short pass. Hey, Yack
is your best friend, and get it done. A couple
of runs for Barkley set it up, and on a
night where the Titans are still battling the Dolphins down
the stretch, former Titan Bullock puts it through to give
the Giants the win.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
You know, and this is a thing, Okay, I'll tell
you the truth about Tommy Cutlet's.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
All right, it's a fun story.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
And I'm happy for Tommy cutt Let's because you know,
you got to say Tommy Cutlets it's fun. I'm happy,
But at the same time, I'm like, come on, man,
the guy couldn't even start at Syracuse, right. He was
one of the best recruits quarterback recruits we had had
since McNabb.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Okay, he was the chose.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
That's why those guys aren't the coaches at Syracuse anymore.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
He was, Yes, that's true.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
And I do like the fact that fran Brown has
like Georgia caliber players coming to visit.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
That could be that could be committing to.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Serious Domino effect.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Baby, let's go, what an unbelievable, What an unbelievable development
that's been for Syracuse. But let me just say this,
So he couldn't even start at Syracuse right. He comes in,
he was gonna be the guy and just couldn't do
it right. The offense wasn't built around him how he
was supposed to and how it was supposed to go.
So he winds up transferring. He goes to Illinois and
(19:00):
he has a pretty decent senior year. Okay, I mean
I did say Tommy Devi had a pretty decent senior
year at Illinois and he but he's undrafted out and
I thought this is gonna be it. This is the
end of Tommy DeVito's story because he's a guy that
I followed. Obviously, you know, the guy came to Syracuse
the next great quarterback. There didn't work out for him,
even when he got benched and wasn't starting anymore. He
(19:21):
lost the job to Garrett Trader, he still did his
interview once a week on the on the airwaves in Syracuse.
I mean, you probably because you know, hey, this is
a contract, you gotta come on. But still the fact
that he still did it, and even when he wasn't
starting anymore, you know, it's pretty interesting.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
It was pretty fun that he was able to do that.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
And then he goes to he goes to Illinois and
I'm like, okay, that's it, and now you know the
Giants need a warm body at third string. Okay, he
comes in for his first action against the Jets when
he's thrust in because Tarrod Taylor got hurt and they
wouldn't even trust him to throw the football. This was
the game where for the from when he came in
(19:58):
the game until overtime, the Giants didn't attempt to pass right,
they didn't attempt to pack.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Because he had no reps, know nothing.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
And finally in overtime they realized, well we got to
throw the ball a little bit, and he threw two
screens and that was it. And still the Giants almost
won the game, which tells you how bad the Jets
are like, they didn't even throw the football for three
quarters into overtime and they still almost won. And I said, boy,
this is a guy because he's just a warm body
right now. I mean, they would couldn't even trust him
to throw the football. Even the Jets allowed Zach Wilson
(20:27):
to throw screen passes once in a while when things
were bad. And now here he is a month later,
and he's the guy that every Giants fan wants to
be the quarterback. He's the guy that has taken the
NFL by storm. He's a cult hero.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
He's got the nickname.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
And you look at him starting. He's won three in
a row and he's played really well. He's got a
great quarterback rating in the last three games. He's not
someone throwing the football a ton, but he's effective. He's
getting the team in the end zone. He's not making mistakes.
He ran for seventy one yards and suddenly Tommy Bleeping'davito again.
The Jets gave all these reps to Zach Wilson for
(21:04):
three years. My carbon, he finally comes up with one
good half yesterday. No, but here's Tommy DeVito. Yeah, I
just kind of skated through man. I skated through Syracuse,
skated through Illinois, skated through Hey, look grab in the NFL,
I'm never gonna play. Oh no, here I am playing.
And now the guy can do no wrong. Five touchdowns
the last three games. The Giants are undefeated. They've beaten
Green Bay, New England and Washington. I really I'm happy
(21:27):
for the guy. But at the same time, I'm like,
you gotta be kidding.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
No, You're salty?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Is how is this happening?
Speaker 4 (21:32):
No, it's because sudden. Let's face it, your administration there
of your football program has long been a disaster. Sure,
and that's really all there is to say about it.
And so for Tommy DeVito, you get a shot.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
Right.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
We use the quote all the time, right, desperations a
stinky glone. Sometimes desperation you might find something at the
bottom of the bottle, at the bottom of your the
hill that you rolled down and you got to start
that long climb back up. Maybe that's it. And you
got a guy who's completing well, he was seventeen to
twenty one tonight, one hundred and fifty eight yards. Is
(22:07):
that overwhelming?
Speaker 5 (22:08):
No?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
But he made plays when he needed to. You add
the yards on the ground and smartly just putting the
ball away, and that's the biggest thing. Don't turn the
ball over, right. We talk about that in the NFL
so often, about turnover differential and just being smart with
the football, And that's one thing you can say for him.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Right.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
We can mock the how few downfield passes they really have,
how much of it is just fancy bubble screens or
flipouts to Barkley that ended up getting some yack because
you saw a little bit of that tonight, and that's
all funny good. They'll count just the same in the stats.
And if a defense can't stop you, at least you
(22:47):
need one point more. That's it. It doesn't have to
be pretty. Winning ugly is a thing. And for the Giants,
you've got a cult hero. It's a feel good story
off of what was a lost season going to hell.
These guys are playing better football in all phases, except
for that guy that lost track of a punt and
let it hit him in the arm, because that was
not good. But otherwise and Saquon Barkley after a big
(23:11):
long catch and run fumbling the ball, that was some
bad stuff. But that's not on Tommy DeVito. He did
his job and competent quarterback play in this day and age,
Jason is a staying upright be not turning the ball over,
and that's what he's doing and giving the Giants a chance.
I you know, I c show.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
I just I just sit here and go really and
I'm not mad at anything. Okay, Well here you're you're
really upset.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
It's okay because you're also mad with the Jets side
of things. That what we we foreshadowed, And I told
you I didn't think it was going to be the coaches,
that he would just go out there and wing it around,
that he had nothing left to lose. And what was
the quote that came out today from Zach Wilson. Yeah,
I mean, what's the worst gonna do? Bench me again?
So it all played out, so I know, you seeing
(24:00):
him throwing around and scoring thirty and a half. Yeah,
you're still salty residually about that. And you didn't get
to go out and see die Hard. All of that
plays together into this mess, ma where's the chicken cutlet
culminating with Tommy DeVito's brilliance on on Monday Night.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
No, no, no, let, let's let's be because I'll tell you, seriously,
what I'm salty about don't tell me what.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
I'll tell you what. I'm salty.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
I'm making you be honest. I'm cutting to your car.
I can see your soul. Yeah, you didn't even have
the guts to break your TV Smith. Yeah that's right.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Now.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Wait a minute, Wait a minute, Wait a minute. We'll
get to that. We'll get to that. But what gets
me is because it.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Really, you know, what really grinds my gear?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Yeah? You know what grinds my gears?
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Dave Yes, Is he just another quarterback that with no reps,
know anything, has proven that he's better than Zach Wilson,
than anything the Jets can throw out there. Yes, but
I've seen so many guys now, Joe Flacco off his couch.
I mean, come on, man, hey, he was once elite.
You didn't think he lost it all together?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Joe?
Speaker 1 (24:57):
He was sitting on his couch until a week ago December.
He's thrown four touchdowns. Jets quarterbacks the entire season have
thrown nine. Okay, so just think about that for a second,
all right, Joe Flacco four Jets quarterbacks nine So yes,
But the thing is that's not what really gets me,
because it's I've seen so many guys.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Any player on any team, any quarterback a team has,
they throw guys out there. I realize how enpt the
Jets are and picking quarterbacks and anything other teams are
gonna do is right, and the Jets do is wrong.
In fact, maybe that's the in and yang. The Jets
being so wrong means everything else is going to be
right for the for the other team. So I get
that part of it.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
What about this, though, Jason, Maybe it's not that you're
picking the wrong guy. Maybe it's that you're develop developmental
process and your coaches all suck.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
No, I think that's part of it too. It's different,
it's off part of it. It's all part of the
all comes together. Come on, man, I mean Raffiki comes
out and holds up every quarterback that Jets have, and
you think, oh, this is it.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
No, not gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
I'm really But the thing is it gets me is
that I'm really pissed he couldn't keep the jump at Syracuse. Man,
he was gonna keep the good times rolling. We had
a great twenty eighteen, went to a Bowl game, won
ten games with Eric Dungee. Ah, here comes Tommy DeVito
and he couldn't do anything. And I'm like, now, this
guy is a hero in the NFL. Really, he couldn't
keep the starting job at Syracuse and now here he
(26:19):
is in the NFL, and he's the toast of the town.
And right now Daniel Jones is getting calls from his
agent going, Hey, the Giants want to call about your
contract next year. We gotta talk about this. Tommy Cutletz
is the guy. I really, that's what gets me more
than this guy couldn't keep the starting job at Syracuse
and here he.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Is now he is the biggest star in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I mean, people talk about Tommy Cutletz more than we're
talking about Mahomes or Mahomes combined with Lamar Jackson and
Jalen Hurts and brock Perty, Tommy cutlets Man, Tommy Cutler.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Nah No, We've got a million storylines for reaching those guys.
I mean, come on, I had to put out the
DiCaprio pointing at his television meme from Once upon a
Time in Hollywood after Jay and Hurts fumbled. After what
David Carr had to say the other day, This is
David Carr on his couch right now, there it is
when he said that Mariota should be starting over over hurts.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
And all that.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
And you know, there's plenty of storylines when you heard
from Kermit the Frog by way of Patrick Mahomes or
Patrick Mahomes by way of Kermit the Frog, including a
couple of musical interludes along the way. But for you, yeah,
this one hurts. I understand that this is very personal
to you because you think about what could have been
for your Syracuse Orange.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
I mean, we could who knows where we'd be right now,
maybe we'd be getting ready for the national championship.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
And again, if guys could have coached him up, then
you wouldn't be introducing a new head coach this year.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Man.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
I really, he couldn't keep the start shop at Syracuse.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
That's really what it is.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
That's not always about the Jets, Really, that's.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
What it is.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
It's really about that he couldn't even keep the starting
job at Syracuse.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Exit.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
How about a ESCA exit swollen down The Jason Smith

play right now that the last play was a completed pass.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
There's fifty six seconds left to go in the game.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Tight end caught the ball between its knees.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah, the try, it looked like maybe it hit the ground.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
It's gonna be a difficult play to overturn because they ruled.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
It a catch on the field.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
So they're looking at this right now again, Dolphins with
the football near midfield, less than a minute left to go.
We have so much more NFL to follow here on
the show. It's not just about Tommy Cutlets and why
he couldn't keep that Jobstino Babers.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Let me know.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
But when we come back, are we talking about an
absolute choke for the ages on the Miami Dolphin sideline
or are they gonna pull this one out of the
fire and get to ten and three? Keep it right here.
I feel like we're just starting. Jason and Mike from
the Tirec dot Com studios. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Every time we play it, I'm agreeing more and more
with on solo.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon Live from the
tiraq dot Com Studios, where we just saw an absolute
choke job by the Miami Dolphins. They were gifted a
two touchdown lead with four minutes left to go, and
they ended up losing to the Titans. The four and
eight Titans twenty eight, twenty seven.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Five and eight.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Now, baby, it's it's a thirteen to thirteen game, and
the Titans muff a punt return that they it didn't
have even been near.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Dolphins go in for a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Next play, they try to pitch it out wide, the
ball is fumbled and it never winds up being close
to being a play where Levis tries to pitch it
to Derrick Henry and the Dolphins recover on the five
yard line.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
They go in for another touchdown. It's a two touchdown.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Lead with just over four minutes left to go, and
the Titans go down the field and score. They go
for two to make it a twenty seven to twenty
one game. They stop the Dolphins downfield, They stop the Dolphins,
get the football back, drive down for the go ahead touchdown,
and to a tongue of Iloa is sacked on fourth down.
The Dolphins had a lot of time to get downfield
(30:40):
for that game winning field goal. There's a lot of
possessions in the last four minutes, but they could not
do it and they fall to Tennessee twenty eight to
twenty seven. You know, we say this about the Cowboys,
and it's only fair to say it about that the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Now, oh you're coming with me, Come on, come on
what I've been saying.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Look if you can't but if people say I can't
believe the Cowitch till they eat somebody, good, Okay, I
take that with a grain of salt. Because the Cowboys
could win four games in a row and beat the
best teams in the league, and people would say, well,
they got to win the playoffs, Well they gotta win
the Divisional round. Well they gotta win the NFC Championship.
Well they gotta win a Super Bowl. Well they gotta
win another Super Bowl. Well, Dak's got to win three
superl Okay, it's a little bit unfair, But you're saying
(31:18):
that for the Cowboys. You absolutely need to replace Cowboys
with Dolphins because there is no more a paper tiger
in the NFL than Miami. All Right, I feel like
everybody made up their mind on the Dolphins. They put
seventy on the Broncos in Week three and it was boy,
look at this offense. It's unstoppable. And what have we
seen over the course of the past few weeks. Wow,
(31:39):
the Dolphins have problems. Their best win is against Denver.
That's the only team over five hundred that they have defeated.
That's it on the schedule. They beat the Chargers week one.
The Chargers are terrible. They're not going to win a
game the rest of the year. Sorry, Frostburg. They beat
New England. New England stinks, right. They beat Denver. We
told you only team above five hundred, and that's when
(32:00):
Denver was awful. We thought Sean Payton was gonna get fired.
They lose to Buffalo. Buffalo is a good team. They
beat the Giants. The Giants stink. They beat Carolina. The
Carolina is awful. They play Philadelphia. Philadelphia is really good.
They lose to Philadelphia. They play New England again. They
beat New England. New England stinks. They play Kansas City.
Kansas City's good. They lose to Kansas City. They play
the Raiders, The Raiders stink, they beat them. They played
(32:21):
the Jets. The Jets stink, they beat them. They played Washington,
Washington stinks. They beat them. And now they couldn't even
beat a team in Tennessee. They stink too. So you're
looking at this Dolphins team and I say to myself, Okay,
they got the Jets next week and then they finished
with Dallas, Baltimore, Buffalo. I know they come into this
game the number one seed in the AFC, but my goodness, man, they.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Have no toughness. They have nothing.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
They've not shown anything that says, hey, we are a
great team. It's like they're more interested in people saying
they're a great team than actually proving it on the field. Because, yes,
you can only play the teams that are on your schedule,
But when you've lost to the three best teams you're
going to play, and you've lost all of those games,
and you blow a game like this with four minutes
left to go and you can't get one first down
(33:07):
to try to keep You're up two touchdowns against a
team that just handed you two scores with two fumbles
that should have not happened. That not even the Jets
had two plays like that back to back. And you're
at home and you blow this game.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Man, you talk about paper tigers and not being able
to leave in a team. I cannot believe. I am
crossing the Dolphins off my list for this year, man,
because they're not tough enough, they're not good enough, and
and this is a game where I'm a Dolphins fan.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
I don't I don't go to sleep tonight. This game
keeps me up until four or five in the morning.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
It's a couple of pieces to it. You mentioned the
gift touchdowns. Don't forget their early touchdown was a defensive touchdown,
right a gift from Will Levis at the five yard line,
so walking right in. I still dispute the punt issue
and the the turnover there. I thought the guy got
interfered with, and I think the tape would prove me
(33:58):
right that his arm got hooked as he was trying
to go and catch the ball. Either way, it doesn't
get called on the field. They turned it into an
easy touchdown. You look at this, just a remarkable finish right,
fifteen to nothing. They outscore him in the final to
forty from Edwarder ESPN. Titans become the first team since
(34:21):
twenty sixteen Texans versus Colts six hundred and sixty seven
straight times a team down fourteen in the final three
minutes lost. They broke that streak to night and the
Dolphins get their first home loss of the season. But
Tyreek Hill not on the field a chunk after that
one possession, right, he had a couple of catches. He
(34:44):
was on the sidelines, kind of walking back and forth.
Wasn't on the field. Got to go and find the
official snap counts down the stretch, but certainly didn't show
in the box scores. Kept looking for him on my screen.
Didn't see him there. Run game had its spots. Buttua
under direct us all night. Give credit to the Titans
and their defensive acumen, because other than the gift touchdowns,
(35:06):
they did a hell of a job tonight oh.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
And seven hundred and sixty seven.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
These teams were twenty sixteen oh and seven sixty seven,
and the Dolphins blew it top again.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
They're on my never again less for this.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Yeah, frauds. They're on my never again less for this year.
I'll take the Ravens. I'll take the Chiefs, even though
Patrick Mahomes is melting down. I'll take the Bengals and
Jake Browning. I'll take Zach Wilson's gonna run the table
for the Dets. I'll take all these teams over the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Mike, Wow, look at you. You got Zach Wilson in. I'd
say this. You know, a lot of folks are gonna
have be checking their accounts for charges that might not
be theirs. They're getting calls for frauds right now in Miami.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
We'll have more on these big Monday night games coming
up next.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Keep it right here, Fox,
