Speaker 2 (00:55):
Both games are ten to seven. Yeah early in the
third quarter.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Hey, better than that three nothing barn Burner we had
in Vegas.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, Hey, you thought Chargers Patriots at six nothing was hey,
come on, man, we had three nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Come on, they were right.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Next to Bears Vikings territory right now. So we'll just
have another couple of games that ranked towards the bottom
of our year ending two hundred seventy two countdown.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
But we have some big stuff too. Obviously, there's so
much NFL to get to.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
We have so much Zach Zack and Zack Zachson. We
have Dallas, we have.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes just melting down. But now
we potentially might have Tyreek Hill returning to tonight's game.
Let's deal with Titans Dolphins. First, Titans lead Miami ten
to seven early in the third quarter. Timem on the field.
Dolphins have the ball, they are driving on the Titans.
(01:54):
Tyreek Hill left the game in the first half with
an injury. He has just come back to the sideline. Okay,
it's weird because he's in full pads, but he doesn't
have a helmet. So part of me thinks, okay, he
can come back, but probably well he needs his helmet. Okay,
so I guess it's better than Tyreek Hill is definitely
not returning, and he's not in street clothes, so potential maybe,
(02:18):
I don't know, but he's in his uniform and Okay,
so this is where we're.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
At right now. It's a Daphins trail of the Titans
ten to seven early in the third quarter.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Well, the no helmet side is a bold strategy.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Cot it is. It is. Maybe people will be, oh,
I don't want to tackle you because you have a
helmet on. I'll let him go. Maybe that's a new thing.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Maybe he wears a leather helmet, goes all full leather heads.
I like that. Go back all the way into that.
But yeah, he got tackled. And now we get into
the old hip drop tackle and bit of the horse
collar being grabbed. All of those things come into play
on the tackle towards the sideline that took him out
(02:55):
of the game briefly into the tent before heading to
the locker room. But hey, good sign that he's at
least back on the sidelines. If nothing else, he becomes
a motivational and support wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Hey, you guys, do it like I did. Do it
like me. Nobody could do it like me.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Now, look, before you know, you want to talk about
stuff that's going to get banned at the end of
the year. I know we've had a lot of talk
about the tush push and the Eagles play and banning
that and and.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
That's been hot button.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
But the hip drop tackle, I think that's gonna be
one hundred percent thing that's going to be a penalty. Now,
that's gonna be a huge penalty, and it's gonna be
it's gonna be marked off that way because we've seen
too many guys get hurt with that, and that's that's
simply something that the NFL. It's going to be number
one priority that they're going to have to deal with
as they get ready to go into the the off season.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
That's number one. Guys get hurt on Oh buddy, it is.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
But hey, you know what, if I don't have a
clean hit on you, I have to let you go.
That is that what we're saying to defenders.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
But you know, but that's the thing is that it
that doesn't need to be adjudicated on the field at
that time, Like that doesn't need like whenever you're talking
talking about safety of the game type stuff, you don't
need to do that in the game at that time.
It doesn't need to be well, they missed, this should
have been a fifteen yard penalty.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
No, this is this is safety of the game where it's.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
You know what, we looked at these plays after the game,
and this is what we determined. It's not you know,
a minute and a half under a tent or you know,
in the in the offices in New Jersey. No, this
is where you look at things and say, okay, we'll
do this and we'll have an answer for this on
Wednesday or Thursday or something like that. And that's how
you do it. And I don't see there being any
(04:32):
reason why you can't do it that way. Okay, so
it's not a penalty during the game, Okay, all right then,
but what you're worried about.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
More is the is the health of the player.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
So hey, let's do this in the in the middle
of the week and we can understand and then we
can have a discussion about it. It becomes a topic
you can I thought you could always do it that way.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
You don't need to.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Worry about helmet to helmet and intent and all these
things while it's going on. You can do that later
on in the week, and then you can still come
down hard on guys and fines are really big and
that's what they care about. You can look at that more,
and that's always a better thing, because sometimes you get
it wrong. Why is this helmuch helmet hit called here
there was no helmet to helmet. Why did that get called? Well,
because the referees are scared and they thought they saw it.
(05:10):
That's always something that is better, that is better looked
at when you have more time, you can step away
from it and look at it cleanly without having to
worry about Come on, man, the game's gotta go. You
got forty five seconds left to go. Come on, but
we got to get this going. You could do that
later on.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yeah, and nian you're always going to be able to
send them the giant pink envelope to fill up with
their contribution to the Human Fund. I mean, that's always
going to be available to you, no question. Just the
curiosity in terms of how you're adjudicating the game, right,
because you're talking fifteen yards Other than the pass interference penalty,
these are these are big chunks and big drive extenders
(05:47):
for offenses, and obviously when it goes the other way
we see it, you know, and what a drive killer
it can be when called against an offense. But yeah,
I think it's just trying to find what makes sense,
some common ground. Certainly there was a lot of bad
you know, back and forth and fighting about changing tackling
(06:08):
technique to as you refer to. Right when we talk
helmet to helmet, we talk intent. We're talking about you know,
head hunting from safeties and linebackers. And look, you can
go through the mental rolodex and find the five or
six players that you recall repeatedly being fined and threatened. Hell,
we've had some of that this year as well, right
(06:30):
where we've actually had a suspension for numerous egregious hits.
So you know, you're always fine tuning it, but in
the end, you need your stars on the field. And
if you've decided that this play has caused enough angst
and caused enough injuries and miss time, then yeah, that's
when something gets changed more quickly than others.
Speaker 1 (06:51):

of the hip drop tackle. And right now, where are
we in the game? The Dolphins look like they're on
(07:12):
the verge of taking the lead. Eight Chan catches a pass,
gets tackled down inside the three yard line. So the
Dolphins without Tyreek Kill look like they're about to go
in and take the lead here over Tennessee. And clearly, look,
you know, I know we're talking about MVP and everything
else and Tyreek Kill and how good.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Too it is.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
But yeah, it's it's easy to see that this offense
without Tyreek Kill is a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Right.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
You don't have you don't quite have the game breakers
that everybody expects you to have that you think they have. Look,
a Chan is great, but he was hurt for a while,
and Jalen Wattle.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Has been good. He's not been superstar.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
You can tell that he is able to benefit a
lot from having Tyree Kill acrossman. But look, the guy's
a game changer, right, I mean, it's it's you know,
I mean, it's it's not that suddenly, Hey, this offense
is that good that even without a big cog in
the machine, they can still go on. No, we saw
that Miami struggled when they didn't have a Chan. Now
they have Tyreek Kill. They have seven points on the board,
(08:10):
here in the third quarter. So yeah, without Tyreek Hill,
it's a much different Dolphins team, a team that already
has difficulty beating good teams. Now, what's it going to
be like trying to beat a team like Tennessee that's
four and eight and they've given up on the season.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's very, very difficult.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Well, I'm about some credit to the Tennessee defense.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
You just love Mike Vrabel.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Just stop, you know.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
You just can't.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
You just want to tell you. You mentioned Mike, You're
like that he's like the new butd Dupree. You mentioned
bud Dupree like every day for a year, a couple
of years ago. Now it was every day, Yes, it
was every single day. You know, I just moved from
one Titan great to another, I guess. But you know,
when when you look at the defense, they've done a
really good job.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Right.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
The only touchdown allowed to this point was a defensive score,
so you have that going for Offensively, Yeah, I mean,
Tyreek Hill not being on the field does change the
complexion of your offense. You do have eight chan back
alongside most hurt, so you've got most of the principles.
But Tua's look uncomfortable all night long, and that proceeds,
(09:15):
he'll going down with the injury. Hell, the play that
he got hurt on was a flat pass that lost
six yards because there was nowhere for him to run.
So they've done it. They did a good job keying
on him early. And now we'll see what Miami can do.
And it's knotted up at ten. See if we can
get a little more excitement for the second half. Meanwhile,
your guy, Tommy DeVito.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Tommy Cutlets buddy, Come on, man, you gotta call him
Tommy Cutletz. Nobody calls him Tommy DeVito. It's Tommy cutt.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Nobody calls them Tommy Cutlet's even.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
What yes they do?
Speaker 1 (09:45):
They all call he's got he's got a cutlet contract.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I think he's.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Got he's got some kind of nil cutlet contract deal,
except that's with the giants.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
When you have an agent that looks like that, you
get many. I think he's got a bunch of deals.
We can't even whisper about on air. Hey, I've been
watching walk Empire. I'm not about to get disappeared again.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
You can't just suddenly say Tommy DeVito's like, you know,
getting rid of guys.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
You can't do that, Jason, did you see his agent?
I said his agent might be getting rid of guys.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I did not tie it.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Look, Tommy doesn't have to add any knowledge of what
his agent is doing. He's gonna star in Good Fellas too.
He's a guy that takes care of business and that's
all there is to it.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Tommy cutlets eight out of eleven for fifty two yards,
but more importantly two touchdown runs by Saquon Barkley was
just gone in to give the Giants the fourteen to
ten lead over the Packers early in the third quarter.
Not a lot of offense in this game. But I'll
tell you what. Look, you talk about the cult favorite
that Tommy Cutletz is becoming in Look, I don't think
(10:42):
anybody really likes him as a quarterback. They just like
the fact, Hey he's Tommy DeVito, we can call him
Tommy Cutletz.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Like I think they like that about him.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
He's been efficient and they've done well and run well
with him. Beyond that, you know, it's not the brock
Pertia effect where he got all giddy about what he's
doing downfield and even then people tried to cut him
down as quickly as they could. Here they were bolstered
by a well they didn't get a call when your
guy Tommy Cutlets as you call him, uh slid and
(11:11):
got absolutely decked. They were looking for the fifteen yards,
didn't get it, ended up having to punt, but the
Packers gack the punt fumble at back short field, great
run by DeVito setting up the Barkley touchdown run. I
don't know. I like the teams that are four and
eight are still trying to play and win games. I'm
not just talking about, you know, the Bears and whatever
(11:33):
they become at the end of this year. But you know,
the Giants technically were still on the back end of
the in the hunt for the NFC. Yeah, they right,
help by the fact that my rams lost yesterday.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yeah no, no, it's a.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Seven and a half though, buddy, they're all the way on
the bottom of that. Hey, but they're still in the hunt, right,
That's all thing you want to be on the in
the hunt graphic in December.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Yes, study alive in the hunt, mathematically alive, a little
bit of fight left in you guys fighting for jobs.
And and then a team drops a game that they
seemingly have won and blow and behold, suddenly you're fighting
to get into the back end of that wildcard chase.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
And meanwhile, in the thick of the wildcard chase and
gaining a lot of attention, we watch Jordan Love tonight
struggle to put points on the board.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
Right.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
It's not that he's throwing the ball terribly. He does
have a pick.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
But this is a guy that has been really good
the last few weeks, and he is putting up kind
of a stinker tonight points wise, because this should be
a game quite honestly, even though it's Monday night, it's
in New York. The Packers should be having a better
night than they are here. And Jordan Love has done
you know, has looked the part over the past few weeks.
But this is the thing about Love, right, And this
(12:43):
is a thing if you know, we're we're gonna say
really good things about it. Look, they've won three in
a row. A look in Fantasy he's one of the
top eight quarterbacks. Now, I mean, he's a guy that
gives you something everywhere. But this is the point about
Jordan Love. When you want to change from being a
quarterback driven offense to being an offense where the quarterback
is the head of the snake and we run the
football a lot, and we throw the football not as
(13:06):
much as we used to. We have good we have
receivers that we want to spread the ball around to,
like Wis and Reed and Romeo Dobbs and some of
these guys. When you get stuck in a game like this,
and this is a mud stuck game, right, this is where, hey,
we should be winning. The Giants are done, they're playing
a rookie quarterback. We've won three in a row, but
we're stuck in the mud in this game. This is
(13:29):
one of those games where when you haven't Aaron Rodgers
a quarterback, guess who's gonna win this game in the end.
It's going to be Aaron Rodgers, right when when you
have Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, these
are the guys that win this game. But Jordan Love, Hey,
all of a sudden, Hey, go in and win this game. Well,
it's not kind of what it's it's that's not how.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
The offense is built. That's not what he is.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Has been given stuff to do, and it's a lot
of it's a lot of responsibility A suddenly say, Okay,
in games like this, you gotta go win it. Wait wait,
that's not how this offense is built. Yeah, but sometimes
you have to go do it when you have a
star quarterback. These are the games they win when you
have a quarterback who is head of the snake like this.
This is when you get a struggle on a Monday
night when you're trying to stay in playoff contention against
(14:09):
a team that's four and eight.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Well, I do dig the fact that you put Jordan
Love in a class with all Hall of famers. So
that was pretty good. You rattled off all guys that'll
be enshrined in Canton one day.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I said, all of these guys are better than him. Well,
what those are your examples? You went to the lazy thing.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Yeah, well Tom Brady's like Tom Brady is the greatest
all time.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
These guys playing now, I said Aaron Rodgers who was
on the team last year, and as an other guys
who were great, great quarterbacks, Now that would win game.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
But you're not great quarterbacks, are not going win game
by yourself.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
You you got a lot of football left to be played.
You're playing without Christian Watson you're off. Your running game
has been inept all year. Although you did get a
gift here because you had a dope on the punk
coverage team for the Giants who had no idea where
the ball was and it hit him in the arm.
So now you're looking at a third and five and
an opportunity here to put some points on the board
(15:02):
for the packers.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
So that's where we sit right now, fourteen to ten
Giants with the lead Tennessee in Miami, tent a piece

the street. It's going to be you Toani Day, Bobby
Benia Daley's trigging from the calendar.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
All of it brilliance.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
But Tyreek Hill back on the field for the Dolphins.
They could not do anything with the ball they punted,
So now the Titans have the ball near midfield in
a game tied a ten apiece in the third quarter. Meanwhile,
Giants and the Packers. A field goal by the Packers
cut the lead to fourteen thirteen about six minutes to
go in the third quarter. There but time out of
(17:31):
breakdown all the big news in the NFL coming off
of this week. Nobody better to do it with longtime
NFL insider check him out on Odyssey Washington Post.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
It's Jason Lockin for who.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Is frantically re ordering his MVP ballot, putting Zach Wilson
at the top of it. Jay, thanks for taking time
away from that to spend time talking.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Yeah, No, it's I'm putting together the definitive case for him. Yes,
I mean really, I'm your guy.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
There's a.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
I'm your man.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yeah, I'll tell you know what.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
The thing is, what was so frustrated with look being
me being happy they finally won a game. But I said,
I sat here and said last week, if they just
allow him to throw the ball downfield and open it
up and be okay with his mistakes and he goes
for three hundred yards and three touchdowns, I'm gonna throw
my TV out the window. Well, he only threw for two,
so I kept my TV. But I'm like, why couldn't
(18:26):
they have done this weeks ago?
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Hey be the guy.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
You throw off your back foot, throw across the field.
This is the quarterback we drafted you to be. It
took him this long to say, hey, go be the guy.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
You are self frustrating Jay, Oh.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
Come on, nobody, I mean, come on.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
No, you had a good half, you know whatever.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
You had a great head, great half.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
Ja, that's awesome. Okay, the pressures off their four and whatever,
I mean.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Come on five five five yeah, right.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Now they're five? Yeah? What fourign a going?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
And we could be in the hunt graphic next week
with another win, we could be in the Hunt graphic
on CBS.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Like I said, I You've got my vote. I am
making the case. I'm going to reach out to people
in the Professional Football Writers Association and just start yeah,
cold calling people, your putting back welk my abundant free time.
Let me tell you this is priority number one.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Hi, Jim Porter, Hall of Fame, Jason Lock and fort
on the line. Let's talk about Zach Wilson's MVP candidacy
and getting a bust in already of him in the hall.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
All right, send him through. I'll talk to him. Send
him through, Send him through.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
That's why I'm here.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
I like that reaction, all right. Game of the Night,
Jalen Hurts. In the fun and exciting world that is
the Philadelphia Eagles, it's broke. That's that's a question. I mean,
it's it looks kind of broken right now. Bro Is
it broke?
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Yeah? Well?
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Is it the schedule that finally just caught up with them?
Though to a degree? Jason, I mean, I know the
defense is suspect and you got a back seven that's
siev like right now, But is it just a five
game run that was just a.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
Gauntlet Look, it's as tough a stretch as it comes.
They had some injuries along the way, and yeah, I
do think it caught up to them. It's hard to
beat teams like that week after week after week. And look,
(20:35):
three fumbles right inside the Mardie and right in the
red zoner, right around the red zone really sapped their
ability to make that a closer game. I really feel
like defensively they bowed up and bucked up and did
some pretty good stuff in the second half. And you know,
you want them kick and field goals whenever you can
get it. But yeah, I mean, look they've with Dallas,
(21:01):
whoever wins that division, that that very much, you know,
very very well could be a rematch. And if the
Eagles are at home, I think the Eagles will beat
the Cowboys again. And I you know, the Cowboys again.
I got to see him beat a good team on
the road in the playoffs before I'm ready to get
caught up. And in all the hoopla, I feel like
(21:23):
they kind of on defense, live and die with the
big you know takeaway and that is that always going
to be there. I I don't know. I liked what
the Eagles were trying to do activate and hurts his
legs early. Obviously that led to one of those fumbles.
I felt like they did a better job on CD Lamb,
you know, for the most part, certainly better than they
(21:45):
did the game in Philadelphia. So I don't know, you know,
Goddard looked good. He's coming back. I think the Eagles
will be fine, you know, I do. I think the
Eagles will be fine. I think the Eagles will still
win that division. And you know, it's probably, in my estimation,
gonna come down to a rematch between Philadelphia and San Francisco,
(22:05):
and if that's in San Francisco, it could be it
might be really ugly. You know, that doesn't look like
a great matchup for this Eagles defense. And I don't
know if you know, getting Shaq Leonard in there or
whatever is gonna make that much of a difference. So
I still think they're probably gonna end up being the
two teams left standing in the NFC, and with San
Francisco having that tiebreaker against them already, I don't fancy
(22:29):
anybody's chances of going to Santa Clair and beating those guys.
And said, oh, I guess would that be early February
or late January, whenever the hell they play the championship game.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Now, it's actually in March. It's right before, yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
Yeah, two days before the combine.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah right, Jason Lock and forward with us The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmon live from the tirec dot
Com Studios. Let's get to the other big game of
the weekend. Look not surprised at Buffalo beat Kansas City.
We've talked about the fat Kansas City wide receivers cost him,
and sure enough Gadarius.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Tony cost them last night.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
But the meltdown that Patrick Mahomes had Jay not just hey,
I'm yelling at the officials and Carl Cheffer's on the field,
but watching him go across the field to congratulate Josh
Allen and say worst call I've ever seen, man, wor'st
call I've ever seen in Josh Allen going yeah whatever, man,
yeah whatever.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
Keet life.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, it's really what is that with Mahomes? Is it frustration?
What is it with him?
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Well, it's there's there's definitely frustration. I think it's realization.
I think it's them realizing they're not gonna have their
binky this year. You know, they're not gonna they're not
gonna have their blanky, they're not gonna get to play
every game at Arrowhead. Like they're not that good offensively,
they're average at best, and we're you know, there's no
switch to be flicked here, and now Pacheco being banged
(23:43):
up is is even worse news. I think that was
a portal win of their football soul, I really do.
I think that was all the paladin and whining and
crying because they know it's not all gonna fall their
way this year, and they also know that they're not
good enough to overcome it. Yeah. I thought it was
really unprofessional all the way around. And not that I
(24:07):
expect people to be perfect or you hold them to
some impeccable standard, but it's like that was so over
the top.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
And first of all, that guy's a losing football player.
He was a losing football player come out of college.
And it's the reason why you know, Gettleman is the
guy who took him where he did. The dude didn't
have shoes to wear to practice, right, The guy couldn't
and the Giants collectively Joe Judge in that Beleef Show,
but they couldn't find clothes for this guy to go
(24:34):
out and play football like he's a losing football player.
He was when he walked in their door. He was
a losing football player. Last year, he was a losing
football player. Week one win, all the drops, he's been
a losing football player since. You couldn't find a better
winning football player to get on the field instead of him,
(24:55):
despite your overt and obvious issues at the wide receiver position.
So don't play anybody else. Suck it up, Buttercup, you're
not that good period. You've been led by your defense.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
And they're looking at each other again, realizing of all
the years where we needed everything to fall away, of
all the years where we needed every call, of all
the years where we needed everybody to come to us
and us to get that buy. It ain't happening, and
we just might not have the mazi as pleasantly constituted
to go out and make any noise without it.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Fire from Jason lock and for all right, Ravens get
a win over the Rams. They moved to ten wins.
But let's stay in division. The fact that we have
Joe Flacco elite once again alongside Jake Browning as two
of the improbable stories keeping the Browns and Bengals alive.
But Joe Flacco. How much is it being celebrated in Baltimore.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
It's been talked about quite a bit and the possibility
of the Browns coming here for a wild card game.
It was a major topic of conversation today on the radio.
And I don't like it, Like I just think it
would be kind of, I don't know, weird and like
I don't know, I'd rather kind of be able to
root for flat like just you know what I mean,
root for that, but not have to cover it like
(26:14):
here locally and dissect it. And you know what I mean,
like if he ended their season, like I just all
the ridiculous narratives that would come out, you know what
I mean, for the lowest common denomena, but just flack,
Like I just I just don't know that I've got,
like I've seen these doomsday scenarios where he throws for
three point fifty and engineers a crazy drive and hits
(26:35):
Amari Cooper for a sixty yard bomb to end the
reven season. And I've got six and a half months
or nine months before they play a football game, and
the calls were gonna get and the extra, you know
what I mean, Like, I just don't know if I've
got the like stomach for that, because I'd nowhere was
it's gonna go and I'd rather avoid it icrous because
(26:57):
it's ridiculous, you know, But yeah, what he's doing is unbelievable, though,
I honestly I started looking, you know, going through some
game scores today, like I think this is the most
prolific quarterback play they've had. And again we're talking small
sample size here, like two games. Honestly since the year
when Kyle Shanahan was there and you had Warrior throwing
(27:19):
every other pass to Josh Gordon. Remember that, Like they
had a game where they went down Atlanta and like
came back and like scored thirty eight points, and I
think he threw forty two times and like twenty five
of them were to Josh Gordon. Like, I think you
really have to go back to like what Kyle Shanahan
was doing there, and that's been a minute to find
quarterback play like this where it's big boy throw after
big boy throw and he's hitting different people down the
(27:42):
field and it's crazy, man, nobody wanted this guy your jets.
I talked to his agent Joe Linta today, He's like, Dude,
I beg Joe Douglas just to bring this guy in
for a workout. Like I couldn't get him in the
building no matter what I did. I was trying to
bribe people. I could not get Joe Flacco to get
a looxie there. I think we could all probably guess why, right,
(28:03):
And he's not exactly He's not part of of the
real general manager's click. You know, you had to keep
we had to keep a roster spot from Boyle and
we had to play Oh my god, Boyle can't play Like, sorry, Aaron,
we got to cut your guy, or at least stop
playing him. So, I mean, it's a crazy story, this
Flacco thing. It really is. Uh. And I don't know, man,
(28:27):
Like the Bengals and the Browns are like Lucy Goosey now,
like they're letting it all hang out. They're they're chucking
it around. The dirty little secret about the Browns though,
is the defense ain't all that special anymore? Like you
really go back and watch the last month, Uh, not
special at all, especially on the road. But now you
know they're giving up points at home too. So Flacco's
gonna have to keep airing it out, and who knows
(28:49):
one of those two teams is probably getting in. I
mean maybe both of them didn't.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Well Joe.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I'll tell you this, if that happens and Joe Flacco
comes and ends your season, I will call your show
once a week, disguise my and say, hey, we should
have kept Flacco.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
What do you think about that? We should just kept doing.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
It'll just be the random ones too in the middle
of July and you're like people, hey, we're only taking
calls on who should be batting lead off for the
Oreos and somebody else slipped the wrong joined the wrong cornerback.
Think of how cheaper it will be to keep Flaco
and all the cat space we we'd had and all
the guys we could go get, but now they had
(29:25):
to give him more fifty million dollars a year on
I know I can't do it.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
He's on Twitter at Jason Lock and fora that is
that Jason Lock and for a check him out. Honestly
one O five seven the fan in Baltimore watching him post.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Jay is always appreciated.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
We'll get we'll get into it because we'll we'll do
our la Philadelphia and Baltimore accent thing at some point
later on talk about Flacco.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
It'll work all right.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
We'll had some Naddy beas or some tasty cakes.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
II very very good, very hey, very good.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Hey, listen, we'll we'll talk about other things. We'll go
to wah Wall, get some wis. We're good, We're good.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Robert just I'm up out of me with my oppression.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
You're phillyocins or garbage.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
No, they're all good. I'm sorry. They're all good, even him.
Did you go down to ballmore?
Speaker 4 (30:10):
You know what garbage looks like. It's the same way
looks like your accent.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Wow. Wow, you know I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
You know we're gonna see that on Thursday night, I
think on the television here.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Oh, is it too soon for that?
Speaker 4 (30:20):
You lead easton stick alone.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Now, I want to go watch die Hard. Not a
Christmas movie, absolute hundred percent of Christmas.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Now.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
Did you go back and see it with theaters this weekend?
Speaker 1 (31:16):
No, we didn't have a chance to. So I'm hoping
this week we're gonna be able to get in.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
It's not in there anymore. There was a limited limited exposure.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, no, it's going the rest of this week.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Oh, okay, did you invite us?
Speaker 1 (31:27):
I didn't go. I can't invite you someplace I haven't gone.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
No, normally you send the invite out first, Smith.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
I haven't. I don't know when we're gonna go. I
had I don't know.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Just say no, I'm just I mean, I'll have a
couple of small plastic bottles of glug at the ready,
let's go.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
The only thing about it is it's not like a big,
you know, big new hit movie coming out where they
have shows at like eleven thirty.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
You know, it's like the It's It, you know, it's it's.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
At at five point forty five, seven thirty, ten twenty,
and that's it.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
It's like the late nineties and movies. Oh there's three.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
We gotta go to the ten twenty. Don't go to
the ten twenty. We're not gonna get it.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Well, I mean going into this week though it may
it may be out already because you got Wonka and
all these other things opening over the weekend. I'm gonna
look into my feet or where we saw John Wick four.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
That sounds good, Okay, look at it. Sure one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
No shares were real comfortable.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Now I don't get to come.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Nope, why did.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
I get to come?
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Cause you didn't invite us.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
I didn't go. I didn't go anywhere kidding.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
I couldn't invite sandwich. I.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
We'll have more on the NFL coming up in about
ten minutes. Thirteen thirteen, Titans and the Dolphins are tied.
With about twelve minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile,
the Giants and the Packers. It's the Giants with a
twenty one to thirteen lead over Green Bay, about nine
and a half to go there. But you wanted it
to be official, it is now official. Show Hey Otani
(32:53):
ten year contract with the Dodgers. The Dodger announcing this
a little bit less than an hour ago.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
So it's all done.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
He is a Dodger, and the big news of the day,
nearly all his money is going to be deferred. Once
twenty thirty four, hits Otani's gonna get sixty eight million
a year of his money. He's getting two million dollars
a year now for the next ten years, so the
Dodgers can continue to go sign players, but in a
(33:20):
deal that's gonna make Bobby Beania Day look like a
kid giving out candy every year. Starting in twenty thirty four,
Otani gets sixty eight million from the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
So that starts in twenty thirty four.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Twenty thirty five, we get the last Bobby Bania Day,
and I am happy because now people don't care about
Bobby Bania Day. It's gonna be showing Heyo Tani day
coming up in a decade, and I am I may
have to continue to work just so I could be
here for that to say goodbye to Bobby Bania and
hello to show Hey TONI day.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
I thought we were gonna be trying to work on
our twentieth year that way, come.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
On, Okay, I like that. I'm digging that, Mike.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
I just mean like instead of like, hey, this is
the pinnacle, we're blowing past that.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Man, I want to be around here.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Hey, sixty eight million on July first, whenever it's gonna win.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Oh, there's a lot of team days ahead, I mean
so excited.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Yeah, don't forget.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
I mean you got guys like Ken Griffy Junior still
collecting checks. I man, there's a bunch of guys that
get paid out the Benea one gets all the rage,
but there's other guys that are still cash and checks
over long after being retired. Kind of the way it works.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
It's easy to make fun of the Mets, to make
fun of the Mets now, but the Dodgers all the
look how smart the Dodgers are.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Well, in ten years, they're gonna have to start paying
that money. Ten years and whoever owns the team in
ten years is gonna have to start.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
I would say this artwork has been doing very very
well as investment pieces is diversification of assets. So hopefully
a few of those paintings continue to rise. And let's
face it, you know now you're just talking about the
time value of money, et cetera. And as we talked
about Friday, I mean it was another case of us
bullying someone into a job and into a signing, just
(34:57):
like we bully Sean McVeigh back onto the sidelines. I say,
you can't quit now, you'd be a coward. You're not
just to be tainted forever. Likewise, O Toddy going to
the Blue Jays, like I thought he was all about winning?
Wasn't it all about winning? Was he lying? Whereas people
lying the whole time?
Speaker 7 (35:13):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (35:13):
No?
Speaker 4 (35:13):
Ken Grifvey Jr. Three point six million, Chris Davis still
get nine million from the Orioles. He might be their
highest paid player with all the young guys they got
runner around there.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
But I love the fact that so many owners are
gonna be mad. Look at the Dodgers can do this,
and you know it's brilliant, right because look, my owner
does the same thing. The only thing I'm gonna say is, hey, now,
I want everybody to stand up and say, oh, we
put in the Steve Cohen tax. Got do something for
the Dodgers. I haven't seen that yet, right, Oh, we
got to take care of this because you did it.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
For Steve Cohen.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Now, let's see if you really have the ability of
the desire to do it for the Dodgers. Let's see
if that has Let's see if you have the guts
to go ahead and do it for the Dodgers. Easy,
because the Mets are a target, right, Steve Cohen's new
to baseball all this no, no, same things happening. Let's
see see if you've got the guts to call it
out for the Dodgers like you do for the Mets.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
If you got a player who's amenable to structuring a
contract that this way. I saw so many people going,
this has to be illegal. It's circum circumventing that. The
luxury tax whatever it's like, still on the books for
forty six million towards that this year, So that's not
curing everything.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Exit abouta Fresca exit swollen dome Coming up next, we
get into one of the best meltdowns the NFL has
seen in sometime Fox
Speaker 5 (36:41):
Welcome
