Speaker 1 (00:30):
But Pevincenzo the next played against the Pacer team. As
McConnell puts it in, this is one of the greatest
shooting performances in NBA playoff history.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
The Indiana Pacers are in the Eastern Conference Finals. If
the Pacers win decisively one hundred and thirty to one
hundred and nine, the first time in this series so
at the home team did not.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Win, Welcome into the Knicks Roast, Go New York Go Yeah,
and the deposed Edwin Diaz.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
I mean, it's all everything swirling into the fift ring
of hell.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
I did like that impression with Devincenz. It was pretty
good there.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
That worked. Look look, i'm honest. Nothing is now there
is something that really pisses me off. But for the Knicks, No, no, no,
but for the Knicks, for the Knicks, I'm fine, I'm fine,
And this is not this is not me. This is

(02:42):
not me saying hey, I'm fine, I'm really no, I
really am fine. I told you from the beginning it's
a magic carpet ride. The season was going to end.
It was like a horror movie. Every ten minutes in
a horror movie, somebody gets killed. Every game and a
half that the Knicks place, somebody gets hurt and gets
no fed out. Of course, Jalen Brunson broke his hand
reaching in for a steal. Of course, Brunson broke out.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
And now when that happened, at some point, you just
have to start cackling like your your Max Katie in
the movie Theater of Game Here, you just sent it
into a very weird No.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I was at that point where it happened. Was Brunson's out.
Go Alec Burks, keep shooting threes. Come on, Alec Burks,
keep shooting threes. Keep shooting threes. They'll build a statue
for you, my friend, Now build it. Uh No, I
told you it was gonna end. I was hoping they
would have enough, and they didn't. Everybody was hurt. You
saw Annonobe tried to play he could and Josh Hart

(03:40):
wasn't the same. And then Brunson breaks his head like a.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Pacers also shot like they were you know, the world
champion at a Papa shot at Chucky.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
You one shot that well in a playoff game in
NBA history, in history, in history, you.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Don't get to play the next He went Randy Savage
off the top road with the book.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
You lost to five guys and TJ mcconus. You're gonna say,
TJ Max, Look, it was going to happen. Okay, it
was gonna happen. Now was gonna happen the next round
against the Celtics. What can there's It's not like I
can look back and go, oh, they blew it or
all they they were supposed to do this and they didn't.
They went as far as they could go. This was

(04:26):
an overachieving team that got as far as it could
win for their top eight guys in the rotation got
knocked out for the season, and then two more guys
got hurt in the last game, like there was nobody left, man,
there was nobody, and you got and you lost with
it again, no one has shot that well in the
history of the NBA playoffs. Came out there and gave

(04:47):
it the old college try a three. He's out of
the game. He could couldn't he couldn't move. He couldn't move,
he could move, he try.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
I mean I appreciated seeing it in warm ups and
getting that note you know on air yesterday mornings, like
all right, he's gonna go through him, like there's there's
no way, Like you saw the first couple of times
he went to do anything, like yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
They thought he will is read it, Edie. He just couldn't. Wow,
he wasn't Luca at least had Luca.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
No, that's true that you'd at least have that emotional
lift that everybody else would run up from.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
But again, your opponent shot sixty seven. Sixty seven. I
really wanted to shoot seventy eight to kind of start
the season, start starting to end with like for come
full circle, seventy eight calls were missed. We shoot seventy
eight percent in the final game. Uh, look, there's nothing
to criticize at all. But what am I going to say?
There's it's not in back, so it was out stuff. Frostburg.
You've been out of the playoffs. I feel you've been

(05:36):
out of the playoffs for three years. You're like walking
through the desert trying to find a way through the playoffs.
Of the Lakers. It really just comes back to the
same old argument.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Though as great as Tom Thibodeau did and as well
as this team played, h and he's going to get
an extension and became a full hero and the culture
that's been built. Did he run them into the ground
or were they just a series of unfortunate events?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
No, you had Julius Randall it one series was unfortunate
and the only injury you could say maybe was over
it was and Unobi because of the soft tissue injury
that he had. Brunton put his hand in to try
to get it. Okay that happened. I mean, who has
a strained intercostal muscle. Nobody, it doesn't. These are all
fluke injuries. So again with the Knicks, I am fine.

(06:20):
I am happy with that I had. I am so
fortunate the last three weeks. It was so exciting. It
was just gonna happen. There's nothing they could have done.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Look, and this series really turned and I'm telling you
it turned on the Nembard three at the miracle three
where he closed his eyes and threw it up. At
the end of Game three, where the Knicks kind of
gave that one away, That was where the series turned
a little bit, because okay, here they are. It would
have been a tie game, Knicks chance to win most
likely to the free throw line. Maybe it's threes that
maybe it's over. But the guy makes a miracle three

(06:51):
from thirty one feet away that kind of turned the series,
and Yeat gave the Pacers life, and the Pacers simply
outlasted the Knicks. They did that. It was just we're
gonna outlast them because they're gonna get ehausted. Guys are
going to keep getting hurt. Let's just keep playing. And
eventually left. Nobody left. So there's nothing I could say
about the Knicks. Er I could say I wish they
would have done this, or man, I can't believe they
did this. I can't believe that. Again, even the play

(07:11):
that turned the series. Yeah, you have the worst player
on the floor with the ball thirty one feet from
the basket and all he can do is shoot. Yeah,
you're gonna give that up, And the guy made like,
what can you There's nothing to be done. It's a
hell of a step back. It's it's it's really weird
that I can look at the end of one on
my team in the playoffs and go there was nothing
to be done. They lost to a team that was deeper,
they were better, and they were healthier, and now they

(07:32):
move on. There's nothing. There's nothing I could do about it.
A couple of things that we need to discuss. First,
you know, there's a butt coming, but go ahead.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
But for everybody that was doing me, oh, I got
tired of it being Nick's in Nick's coverage whatever. It's like,
where's the better story? Where is there any story for
the Indiana Pacers that got you excitable? For the NBA,
for all coverage for people that are fans, grew up
in New York, went to a New York school, you know,

(07:59):
all of those things that flow through. So anybody doing
the oh, it's too bad the pace didn't get the run,
you know what, start giving it their run now because
I garan, damn Tia, you didn't do it this last
series either, So stop complaining about the Knicks coverage. Yeah,
it wasn't a bit much, but I'd liked seeing my
friend happy to a point.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
You know. I mean, it's one of those because you're
jealous because my team stinks, and that's the way it goes.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I mean Zach Levine right now has the NBA. He
is the leader of the guy with the worst winning
percentage as a player with five hundred games played.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Thirty seven thirty seven. That's how much his team wins.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
So anybody that's doing the oh, we should have talked
about Indiana more or you should have done that, Like
you didn't talk about Indiana. Don't try to sell me
that you did unless you were talking about Reggie Miller
hitting a shot. You didn't talk about Indiana as it
rolled out for twenty three, twenty four. Now for the Knicks,
may they were fun to watch, like they were a
team that everybody could embrace because it was the blue

(09:00):
collar go to work, put in your forty minutes or
forty four whatever Thibodeau was going to require. And you're
rolled through and unfortunately you just saw the wheels come
off one after another. Right, it's the being out for
the test drive. Take the old Kramer from Sidefeld. How
far could we break that needle off? That's kind of
where the Knicks were. Eventually that car is stopping in

(09:23):
the middle of the desert, and that's exactly what happened here.
Just did not have enough to outlast and nor did
you think that they would be able to shoot sixty
seven percent?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Your guy nem hard. He went eight of ten, Sure,
he had twenty. Everybody was everywhere, everybody plays, everybody win
sixty cent? What are you gonna do? What are you
gonna do? Right? But you know there's a butt coming. Okay,
there's a butt's got a But I'm not mad about
the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
No.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
I watched your I watched your facial response to what
was going on in the open and everything, so I
know there's a butt.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Here's what I'm mad about. I'm mad that we lost
to them. I'm mad that we lost to the Pace.
I'm mad that we lost to a team that, like
a little kid who wasn't being given ice cream, cried
and cried the first two games of the series and said, oh,
it's not being called right, and it's the small market
teams and we're not giving a chance. And then they
start winning games and suddenly, oh, oh no, everything is

(10:17):
fine now because we're winning. Like I gave the kid
a lollipop, would you please be quiet and stopped crying here, Okay,
everything is fine. And then at the end of the series,
it's all patronizing, and Rick Carlisle saying, oh, the amount
of respect I have for the Knicks and Tom timbadea earlier,
it was all big market teams getting yeah, don't do that,
and then you have players trolling the next I'm wearing

(10:39):
a Reggie Miller sweat and you cried and moaned and
complained that it was so sad. You were so oh,
we're being done, so dirty, this is awful. Oh open,
now we're winning. Let me dry my tears and let
me let me stop snipping. And now now I got
my swerve back a little bit there, because it's two
thousand and six and I said swerve, And now we
have automatically hitting across the temple. For that, I have

(10:59):
my confidence back. Now now I'm feeling good. Yes, I
can say good things about the Knicks, and oh boy,
what a great what a great competition. He hey, what
a great series. Let's give a big round of applause
the next and I'll look at the players here who
want to continue to troll the Knicks and Knicks fans
look at it. I'm gonna wear a Reggie Miller sweatshirt.
I'm Tyre's haliburt and Reggie Miller continuing to troll the Knicks.
They went from we are crying and moaning and complaining

(11:19):
like little kids sucking their thumb, laying on the ground.
But here, here's something to be quiet. And now it's
say here they are later, Oh no no, and now
everything is fine. Yeah no, no, no, everything is fine.
That's what pisses me off. But that that's how they
behave the entire series. And that's who we lost to.
We didn't lose to a team that beat the crap
out of us and won by twenty twenty five. And hey,
this is all we have to do. We're professional about it,

(11:41):
X Y and Z, because you know what, they're just
mad at the fans. They're just mad at the fans,
not like Knicks players were saying anything during the playoffs,
not like Tom Thibodeau was saying anything in the playoffs.
The Pacers decided, oh, we're mad at the calls. We
don't like the fans, we don't like the x Nicks
that are round, that are around the floor, that we
don't like the atmosphere. Madison Square guard to whined and
cried and cried and cried and cried, and then it

(12:02):
turns out. They want oh and now everything is okay.
The only one crying here is you. So that No,
that's just that's just so unprofessional. That's just so what
you're doing is to No, it's I'm telling you why
I'm pissed off, man, I'm telling you why I feel
like Joey Tribbian I tell you why, Chadler telling you
your as we did. We lost in seven games? Yeah,
by how many? Okay, okay, six and seven were like, helloout,
how many playoff games did you win? Frostburg. We're talking

(12:24):
about the Nick. I'm not talking about Minimiz. You would
tell me how my team is not good and they're
not good and they made it way. You haven't won
a championship since nineteen seventy, way further than your team
nineteen seventy three, nineteen sevent thing it was you weren't
even was in my lifetime.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I was born, No, no sevents broke up seven or
the last Nick.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
I was born. I was alive for that one. I
wasn't alive for the first Mets one or the first
next one, but I was alive for that one. I
was alive. I did not watch Phil Jackson on my
screen on tape delay. But I was alive for it.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
But again, the point as let me do this for
you here, justin so he doesn't come in and try
to choke you up. Is the shows today, the game
was this weekend. He's got nothing to do with his squad,
and they're in ability.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
He's only doing because he's saying things that are and true.
Your team is bad. You lost, You know he's doing that. Well, no,
they lost by twenty one. And then he's trying, Well,
you're out here saying that they went as far as
they could. You said they were going to the finals. Yeah,
well when they all started getting hurt and then it wasn't.
And I told you from the beginning of the series,
I hope they have enough to win this series they made.
I said that from the beginning of the series. I

(13:26):
can go back to the tape and find exactly where
I just finished with your car. So man, you don't
got to stop because you can't cut. I'm trying to
make it. You don't make salient points. It's the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
It's brilliance is that you're wearing a white son there
just because they're wearing it.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Was a white Sox shirt. Today, that's like good. I
would like trip and fall off in my chair right
now because I'm close to you wearing a white Sox. Terrible.
I stipulate to that. And they've been terrible for a
very long time.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
And now you got one of the new broadcasters fighting
with the guys on the radio station.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
It's absurd. What for Rick Carlisle? What are you doing?
You're trying to get calls? And did he take it
to an extreme? But that's what you do. That's what
you do.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
And you know, Phil Jackson might have done it more
eloquently back in the but then he stopped the guys.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Then he stopped he does, so everything was getting officiated
right then. No, there were no change at that point,
and there's no point to fight it at that point.
You've said your piece and then you win four out
of five, including two blowouts, and so that's it. You did.
You did your job. He just cried and now everything
everything is all now? Isn't that what everybody does? I mean,

(14:34):
that's that's society, isn't it. Complain? Complain? All right, you
kissed my ass. Now I'm good and you go. I
have to like it, and I didn't like it. I
didn't like it at all. That's all I'm.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Trying to do is put the mother to my scope
up to say we all do it.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
So I met.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
No. So when you're at home and you didn't get
enough of a big dish, you man.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Why are you mad?

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Now?

Speaker 1 (14:54):
You should not be mad. Your team didn't do anything,
My team lost, and you're the one mad, and you're
making me mad. You're making Disager man, You're making Frostburg man.
I'd say you make a tycher. Matt Bager, agreeing with
the point, I was trying to thank you. The Jason

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Nine to six, New York a pill Sky's one deep
center field that goes paid to the warning track. Looks up, it's.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Out of here.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Oh Josh Bell times the game well.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
The three one home are at the bottom of the mine.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
The Marlins have scored four runs against Bedlin das the
tie of the game.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
At nine to nine. Oh boy, oh, I thought you
had something else. You had something else that happened to
one of my teams. You have the final final call
of Denver beating Syracuse the water Finals Lacrosse Area.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Then Aaron Rodgers chose the Yankees over the Mets. How
does that make? I don't care.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I really don't care. I'd like to make your quarterback. No,
I don't care. Didn't even choose you. I didn't choose
you person. I don't care. I don't care. There's so
many things chose Walt. There's so many things I don't
care about Aaron Rodgers, and that's one of them. But
maybe this is what I have to go through for
the Jets to win the Super Bowl. Like it's kind
of like, what isn't the whole thing? Like Dante's Inferner,
you gotta go through the river sticks, you can go

(17:24):
through all the differ you got, hell right, you gotta
go there. So I gotta go through the Knicks and
I got to go through the Mets, and I go
and but it's gonna come out the other side with
a the Jets are winning the Super Bowl. Maybe that's
what I have to go through. Okay, that's fine.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
And sometimes he eats something that disagreisches with you and
it's got to come out the other side.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
That's to make you feel better. Okay, sure, sure, real question. Yeah,
people are having dinner. What do you got for Rosburg?
How did a pop up go over the fence? Yeah? No,
I will say Edwin Diazi to stop pointing up in
the air, you know, like like that makes it seem
like it's not your fault. You can't go over the fence.
That's not my fault. How can you go over the
fence and catch that ball?

Speaker 2 (17:59):
No?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
I mean that is the equivalent of the old Harry
Carey calls there's a pop up, short stop and I'm
still going back.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Head's out of here. I think it's it's part of
the ball. I think honestly it's part of the closer
because you know, Hansel Robless used to do this all
the time to the lunch guys do it for more closer.
They want to uh like they feel like I can
control it still by pointing up to it, like I
have some kind of mental control. If I point up
to it, it's not going to go out instead, it
will fall into the outfield. Yeah it's not yet. Oh

(18:31):
look I get this man. I was going to be
a home run, but look now it's gonna go right
into Harrison Baders Love. There we go. No, no, no, lookybody,
it was a tough weekend. Look the Knicks and Mets
season all both ending in the same weekend. We lose
two out of three, Martin Marlin's Maryland's have won like
four games all year, two out of three. So it's done. Now,
it's done. I needed the Knicks to get me all

(18:51):
the way to the Jets. Now because I Mets aren't
doing it's now I gotta go. Oh I got nothing, you.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Got you got at least a little of that, A
little bit of film clips to make you feel better.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I'll buy a hat. Sure, okay, I'll help out. Yeah,
little little.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Retail therapy, and then that'll get you too. I mean, look,
you gonna have a summer vacation at some point.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, sure. I Look at that bloke.
He's wearing a Met He's wearing a Mets hat. That
would got picture a guy wearing a Mets hat.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
I'd hold up a sign and put a little tin
in front of you and track like dollars.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Feel bad for me. These are my teams. I look
at that, Look at that bloke over that, what's rolling him?
He's well, mets hat is this?

Speaker 4 (19:29):
I had to get away from the US to not
be reminded of the subtitude of my team.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
And then all the pictures. I look at the restaurant.
Oh yeah, wearing a Mets hat in that picture. Oh
that's that. Oh that's that. We'll get you. Look. Look again.
I'm fine with the Knicks losing. I'm mad the Pacers
won because they acted like babies. But okay, it happened,
and we move on. We have to have no choice.
But the movie called Gamesmanship, I have no choice, and
then you got God, I'm sorry, I have no choice.

(19:55):
And now they get to go, uh play the Celtics. Yes,
and guess what.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Guess what the hot take for all of the folks
that are business that complained about the coverage this last
round gets what. They're not gonna talk about the Pacers
next round either. It's gonna be all about no because Celtics,
on their history and their legacy and everything.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
They think they have a buye into the NBA Finals.
Watch Celtics like, yeah, suddenly, whoa, We're down three to one.
To the pacers. Look at everything is coming along. Look
how great we are. And Rick Carlisle walking the sidelines
like he's from the future with all the black outfit
and the black turtle neck, like he's from the year
twenty seventy four. I know exactly how things go. That's
what I gotta watch. That's what I have to watch. Okay,

(20:35):
you know what, let's you know what. Let's let's take
a deep breath. Let's let's side your fault. Let's move
on from the next. TAKaD Do you have a nice
meal this weekend? I have lots of it. Maybe you
got to take a nice walk.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
Maybe there was a dish that take a nice nap,
larger of ice cream because you had to console yourself,
not take a nap.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
And a nap. Yeah, Jason was out Friday, the next
win or lose. On Friday they lost, Oh okay, that's
all right, though. What about Sunday? Sunday they lost? Oh
good thing. I was out then. I remember you said
you would get to four working days in a row
before the Knicks got to four wins and neither of
us won. No, no, because you you are the anti

(21:13):
cal Ripkin of Fox Sports. Radio. I don't know, like yeah,
like you get up to like four days in a row.
I need I need a day off. I'm sorry, I
need a day off. I need to do. But for
the fourth time and six nights, you got a Caitlin
Clark basketball game. Yeah we did. You know, I know
the prevailing opinion is going to be, how do you
give him four games and six nights? Of course, give
him four games and six nights. It's Kaitlyn bleeping Clark,

(21:33):
uh the fever. Oh and three facing the Connecticut Sun again,
one of the top teams in the w NBA last
year to this year. They're still undefeated. The play the
last couple of days, I think tells everybody, just like
we told you, Caitlyn Clark in the w n B
A is going to be just fine. Wheeler ESPN on McCall, Yes,

(22:08):
another logo three for Caitlin Clark. Tonight she had seventeen points,
five rebounds or three rebounds, five assists, Still five fouls.
Will still figuring out the fouls and the turnovers a
little bit better. Indiana falls to oh and four because
remember the only one thing wrong with Indiana is they stink.
They stay him, They had a chance to tie the
game late. Eliah Boston, last year's Rookie of the Year,
missed a layup that, Wow, looked like it was going

(22:30):
to be a lot easier than the defenders kind of
closed in on it, but she was anticipating more contact.
She got a little loss there on the layup and
it doesn't go. The Sun get a rebound, the hit
a couple of free throws, and the fever fall to
oh and four. But I think if you're watching these
and people are watching, more people are watching these games
than than ever have before. Congratulations, we told you this
was going to happen. Uh, Caitlin Clark is going to

(22:53):
be just fine, and she already is adjusting to the WNBA.
The thing that you watch that's really fantastic, and it's
really something sees. There is no player that gets the
attention in the game that she does. The defensive attention
on every single possession. Where is she she has the ball,
she's gonna get the ball, she's coming off a screen.
What do we have going on? What are we doing?

(23:14):
She gets all the attention, which is why that last
play was so wide open for a Leah Boston, because hey,
you know, we're down by two with eleven seconds left.
Guess who's going to take a logo three. So that's
why the floor was so spread. Yeah, gets the ball.
She got the ball really too far away from the
basket because by the time she drives, she drives past nobody.
By the time she gets to the hoop, there are

(23:35):
a couple of help defenders over there. So if anything,
you could say, hey, it was too much because once
she got the ball going to the basket, okay, everybody
kind of goes to try to stop the play, So
that need to be a little bit more. She gets
it a little bit closer to the hoop, it's probably
an easier layup for her. But you see, she gets
all kinds of attention and still she's scoring points. She's
leading the team in scoring. She is having some sort

(23:56):
of impact already on the league as far as interest,
as far as people watching other teams as well. And
she's going to be just fine. She already is just fine.
And eventually they're gonna start playing teams that aren't at
the top of the WNBA, and these impressive games that
she's having that will lend in defeat will be more
impressive games that will end in victories all right, because
they've already played two of the top three teams every

(24:18):
game they played in this oh so far in the
season with the home and homes they've had. This is
their second home game, the home and home with the Sun,
So eventually the schedule will lighten up a little bit.
Probably will coincide with her hitting the wall because it's
a lot of basketball. It's gonna wind up being a
lot of basketball for her coming off the NCAA season,
then not too much time off before she's got to
start playing again. So yeah, she's gonna wind up saying, boy,

(24:40):
this is a lot. I've never played this much basketball before.
So she's gonna hit a little bit of a lull,
but then she'll get that second win and she'll be
able to finish strong. But I think what we've seen
is that everything is great. She's going to be great.
She's must see TV anywhere we go. She's still hitting
logo threes, she's still scoring points, even though the other
teams are selling out to stop her because they don't
want her to embarrasser. We're not gonna let Caitlyn Clark

(25:02):
come in and not in this house and do it
and she's getting attention that nobody else is getting. And
she's still scoring seventeen to twenty points a game. She's
the team's high score she's already their high scorer. She's starting,
she's playing all the minutes. Caitlin Clark, everything is gonna
be just fine. Yeah, I mean, watching a bunch of
it was. They were one of the early doubleheader games
on Saturday, getting to watch some of the sparks and

(25:26):
the sky and you see you got Angel Reese hanging
out with Megan v Stallion and number of female rappers
and getting some run there and embracing Chicago Cameron Brink
and on her teammate that were drafted in this year's draft.
They were out throwing out the first pitch, great photo
ops with shohe Atani, and then obviously Caitlyn Clark getting

(25:49):
a lot of run and television coverage for her games.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
We were just excited, I think, as anybody that's paying
attention to the league at all, that the ankle injury
when she was trying to top ahead of screen that
was being set for her defensively, and you watched how
that ankle, uh kind of rolled like, oh, that's not good.
So the fact that she got back in the game. Hey,
modern medical science and the resiliency of the human body,

(26:15):
uh never ceased to amaze me. But to this point,
you know why. She gets a lot of extra coverage
and a lot of defenses are key in to stop her.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
It's a shock her. But it's your number one reason
comes back again. One reason, but one reason why because
the fever stink here go, She's.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Gonna get more attention today, maybe don't stink as much.
So it's the the idea that she's going to get
a lot of run.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Uh. And look some of the review of the earlier turnovers.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Look, your teammates got to handle passes too, and it's
not to absolve her and and.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Put a halo onter or wings or whatever you want
to do.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Uh, still making mistakes, still some growing pains, But she's
played a.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Lot of basketball.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
We've talked about all of the fact that you had
six weeks between the end of your college season and
into training camp and tadah, there you are in the
regular season. So yeah, there's gonna be adjustments and still
getting to learn your teammates, but bit by bit it
all comes together. Logo three point shots highlight reels, whatever,
and folks can root for it to fail, they can

(27:22):
root for it to succeed.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
It just is okay.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
You don't have to go jump to either extreme and
you don't have to be a hot take theorist when
it comes to the WNBA and Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
And if you don't like the topic, that's fine. We'll
move along.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
And folks that are talking about it, we'll move along
to another topic soon enough.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Look, it already is good. It's already good, it's already
must see. All our highlights are all over the place.
Number one trending topic on Twitter tonight, all right was
Aleiah Boston. I just just tell you where and how
quickly she has lifted up the WNBA. Because as great
as all the other cookies are, right, Brink is great,
and you want to talk about Cameron Brink and Angel Rees,

(28:04):
they're all great, nobody's Caitlin Clark. Right, You have to
understand that she is bringing this league a different sort
of attention that they've never had before. And so that's
that's the main reason that we're seeing this and and
now because of that, we're seeing other players that were recognized.
And that's the best part is that you can bring
up Cameron Brink and Angel Reese and and everybody knows

(28:26):
who they are, right And oh, yeah, I know she is.
I know she is, I know she is. Yeah she
got she had this place, she had this man a
Leah Boss, and I know she did this. She missed
that lamp and now Alea Boss is the one who
missed the laymup. But it's it's it's really something that
all of a sudden this has arrived where every night,
whether she plays or not, the WNBA is a big deal.
And just think about that she's done that just by

(28:46):
showing up and walking into the league of telling you
Magic and Larry, she's done it.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
And for those you know that. Lastly, the remember how
everybody is getting there? Yucks up about the secondary ticket
market last week for the home opener. Oh it's only
five bucks. Guess what they already got face value? That
means somewhat into secondary market.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
God got exit out about a Fresca exit swollen dome.

big NFL headline from today we told you about last week.
We'll get to that next. Jason and Mike as we
remember the season that finished for the New York Knicks.
This is Fox Sports Radio, and he took me to

(29:49):
a next game and they're lost, and I was sad.
I never went to a game again.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike har weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific and GJ.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Clearly the Knicks couldn't linger anymore in the playoffs in
the NBA TJ just like Vancouver. Yeah, looks like Edmonton's
going to the Western Conference finals. Big game seven tonight.
Eilers lead the Canucks three nothing about a minute ago
in the second period.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
They're up to twelve shots. Now, Yeah, they're getting there
making it respectable.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
We're at Knucksy. Paul Burrey, Russian Rocket. I have the script.
Oh you have the script? What happened to the Oilers lose?
Oh wow, what a hell of a collapse. That would
us Michael Malone like collapse. That would be like the
guy that predicted for Rogers gonna blow out his achilles
on this turf in about two hours. Whoa wait, Frostburg

(30:48):
said they were gonna they were gonna.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Win when it was he got a reading from a
psychic but big NFL story today And again it goes
back to something we talked about last week.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
What do we say about what the Chiefs franchise really is. Okay,
they can be awful. They have the image of Patrick
Mahomes and Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift and Andy Reid
and they do the State Farm commercials and they're fun.
But also remember this is a franchise that's gonna allow
people to play. They take the NFL back twenty five

(31:19):
years to it doesn't matter what you do off the field.
If you can play and we need you, we're gonna
let you play. Rashi Rice is taking part in OTA's
for the Chiefs. Right, this is someone forget about Harrison
Bucker for a second, right, Harrison buckerout. You don't like
what he said. You don't like what he said, but
something that's not something you're going to cut a guy over.

(31:42):
Is not even about Harrison Bucker, which Rashi Rice being
allowed to be with the team with an arrest already
documented and a suspect in an assault case it's being investigated. Yeah, no,
stay away from the team. No, hey, we're gonna sit
you down for a little bit. No appearance of hey,
we want you know, you gotta protect the shield, you

(32:02):
gotta you gotta do things right, especially the traffic incident
where people were hurt and went to the hospital and
this is document, This is not anything well we're waiting
to see. No, this happened, and we know what happened.
And now, oh, by the way, you're the suspect and
assault at a bar from a few nights ago, and
he's still allowed to be with the team. This is
who the chiefs are. When Tyreek Hill was going through
the whole rip about about his son with a broken arm,

(32:24):
and what do we hear from from the from the prosecutors.
We know what happened, we just can't prove it in
a court of law. Did the chiefs do anything to
date and went hey, listen, we want to make sure
that you know that, hey, domestic abuse is really no.
Tyreek Hill played. Tyreek Hill played all the way through.
Then they let him go, let him leave after all. Okay,
we're gonna let Tyreek Hill go someplace else. But he played,
didn't get suspended. Here's where she rice. You think he

(32:45):
should be away from the team while this is going on.
This is a really bad thing. Yeah, but you know
what doesn't matter, because this is how the Chiefs do it.
This is how this is how they've done it for
all of this, all the Chiefs. What a great franchise? Yeah, yeah,
And you can get even past that to where players
think it's one of the worst unenfranchises out there. They don't.
They don't have certain amenities that all other teams have.
I wonder what it would be like without Mahomes and

(33:06):
Mahomes on a different team, would be all the Chiefs
the Chiefs. I don't think so. But this is but
you look at this, this, These are awful things for
the Chiefs to do, to say yeah, and for the
Chiefs to shrug their shoulders and go, well, what do
he want us to do? We're still waiting to see
how things go. Now we know what happened. We got
a couple of things with Rashi Rice. This is bad man,
This is bad. But and especially for when you allowed

(33:26):
Tyreek Hill to play and there was nothing that you
may made it seem like you were gonna do anything
with it. We're just gonna let them play. This takes
the NFL back to pre Roger Goodell, where Paul tagli
But was you could get a duy on a Saturday
night and still suit up and play on Sunday. That's
a's but.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
It's the hard part is what they've tried, and it
puts you in a difficult position because you know, the
league is about playing and what if we argued oftentimes
with players, wouldn't they be better served being around the
team because the knuckleheadedness and everything comes in the offseason
when we and they're not there. So in theory, they're
in a better place being around the team. And as

(34:05):
you said, it's all being investigated and adjudicated, and it
becomes the does the team have to play judge, jury
executioner the league while the legal processes go through, Because
that was one of the big criticisms of Goodell is
that he'd gone too far the other way right, where
you had Tagliabu who did nothing, and then Goodell was, well,

(34:25):
there's a hint of an investigation. You're away from the team,
stay away from the team, and we're trying to figure
out where that muddled middle is in a lot of this.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Well, I think Roger Goodell thought that Okay, I'm gonna
do this. I'm only you have to do it a
couple of times because then people are gonna understand, Okay, wow,
I really I don't want that to happen to me.
And then it's still happened.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
But again it still becomes the you know, one percent
and I hate when we get into the one percenters, but.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
That's what it is of the league.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
And in this case, you got a guy who's got
two things right, but it's still just one guy. And
across a league where a lot of guys do some
really great things in their communities and are st end
up guys that you've got the knucklehead effect as we
call it, that that stains it. And so for the team,
I think you're trying to to figure out where where

(35:10):
you put your hand on the scale, is it all right?
Wait until something needs to be done versus we act
and we're proactive about it. And then a guy who
and again, importance to the team varies, and Rashi Rice
has a level of great importance to them. But also,
you know, are we doing him a disservice if we

(35:31):
send him away from the team while this is being investigated.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
I don't know that there's any other solution that makes
sense other than to say it does. It doesn't need
to be official. It could just be stay away. Hey,
they're doing the right thing. They know he's going to
get suspended at some point, Like there's got to be
a suspension coming for this. But even if it's just
that simple, now no, no, still part of the team,
still the OTAs Wow, really, like I mean really, it
sets the NFL back twenty five years.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Well, it becomes the battleover optic right and perception for
the league and what you're willing to allow against said shield,
you know versus you know, everything is is wrong if
it comes down this way, right, And I think it's
a delicate balance that they're trying to trying to stand here.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
It's it's it's not surprising again, they've they've had a
track record of this. Now a couple of times. This
is all within the last five years. It's not like, well,
this happened in two thousand and four. This is in
the last five years. And again, none of this has
to do with Butker. None of this has to do
with Butker situation. That's completely different. This is just wow,
really this was this was a situation that was extremely
bad and extreme and and again he's charged with crimes

(36:42):
and multiple crimes as Yeah, I no, still come play.
I mean that's sometimes the optic is everything.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
And he gets to help your squad until he has
to go away. I've been trying to tell you guys
for years.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
What they are exit out about a Fresco exit swollen
down The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike
Carmen coming up next. Yeah, we'll get back into the
roast that's been going on most of the night tonight
here on Fox.
