The way tire buying should be. Well, something different on

(00:50):
the Celtics coming up in a couple of seconds. But
maybe you saw this story today. You know robot umpires
are eventually coming to Major Legue base Yeah. I've been
trying it as in the minor league. It's been working okay,
But Rob Manford, Commissioner Major League Baseball, said today no
robot umps are coming next year, so or at least
this year, and one more year away from home plate

(01:13):
robot umpires, which is basically some kind of there's a
there's a screen, and there's a machine and a CPU
that's attached to the backscreen, and that's what marks and
judges the ball and strikes. They're trying to figure out
a way to appeal if something happens. So no robot
umpires are coming for next year. We're still probably a
year and a half away from some kind of robot

(01:34):
umpire from.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Our robot overlords taking over the Diamond. Yeah, I'm putting
Angel Hernandez out to pasture once and for all.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Well, i'd love to see Angel Hernandez like umping being
a first base umpire with a home with a robot umpire.
But here's what I want. I don't want this to
be screwed up. That's why I'm glad they're waiting on it.
I don't want a CPU with a with a camera behind,
you know, attached to the netting behind.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
I want a real, honest to goodness robot, you kind
of like they've got and stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
No, And I don't want one that looks like a human.
I don't want an a I know, I want like.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
A about ten thousand dollars, you can buy one that
looks however you want.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I want like a Rocky four Happy Birthday, PAULI robot, right,
that's got the questions that robots, Yeah, what's required to do.
But I want that. But I want the robot that
looks like a robot that's got the hands like the
Terminator without the skin, and can come out and goes
behind on plate strike one strike too, and then can
you know, slide down the first base line a little

(02:36):
lost if you wanted to make it like a taller
BB eight or something like like like give me a
good Battlestar goal after Yeah, don't, don't give me some
kind of oo rogers. This looks so human. I want
to write it letters and say how much I love it.
I'm in love with a robot. Now, No, I don't
want that. I don't want to not too human. I
want a rub with a stripper. I'm in love with

(02:58):
a robot. Well, that's a twenty twenty for remake remix.
I'm in love with a robot.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Uh, that's lots of people are I mean, it's really
a budding and industry.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I mean, isn't has it different?

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Movies?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Was it Scarlett Johanson one of those movies she was
an AI. Yeah, but isn't there No, I mean the
actual movie. Ok. Yeah, No, she was a she was
a robot or an alien and guys fell in love
with her and she killed them all.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Sorry spoiler alert, but like like like I don't want
it at Also, the plot of Species might have Natasha Henstrid.
She wasn't a robot, No, she was another alien. But like,
I don't want a robot that looks like Scarlett. I
want to. I want Okay, that's a robot.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Man, I really was that what we're talking about?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
DJ? Maybe we will squeeze in pulling muscles from a shell, TJ.
If we could do that, that's good, that's not has
a great song. Yeah, I want. I want to. You know,
can be able to laser somebody if they need to,
maybe with the with the hands they have that the
taser and they can if someone's arguing too much as
this reach out, WHOA the manager falls down. Now you're talking.

(04:05):
He said, he must have said the magic word. That's
what I want. That's what I want. It's like the
seven words. You can't say. Yeah, red eyes, like you
know the Umpire's getting mad when the eyes get red.
Oh oh oh, Carlos Mendoza is gonna get tossed, and
I kind of did this. Don't mess around, man, give
us a great robot Umpire. Happy birthday, Poulie, Happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
But again, I mean one of the most controversial characters
in recent memberies.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Strike three, year out, strike through forty years, strike through
year outland Dor, you're hitting one ninety three, yes, Paulie
serving you drinks? Oh boy, oh the beer.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
See, we might be a coup more years away from that.
I'm just trying to play it out in my head.
It's it's I'm not doing it. But here's the difficult thing, right.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I mean, we got guys that are complaining about exit
velocity and advanced stats.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
It might be time to just hang it up at
that point, But I mean, how are they gonna feel
about robot umpires And maybe the robot on because it's
so smart, can tell you things like like strike three.
Jeff McNeil, you have struck out. It is your six
strikeout in your last seventeen plate appearances. You are now
hitting seventy six for the month of May. Matt Jeff

(05:20):
McNeil is out. Matt.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Wow, So now you're gonna have it be the umpire
and take over for the stadium in stadium announcer.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Well, they don't do that, but this would be next level.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
See wired, you know, to where like Deeter rule is
prompted by something they say to play it.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
On the organ. I mean, I don't know. We got
a lot of things that can flow out of this.
Strike three, Bryce Harper. By the way, that was two
feet outside, way outside, Matt, Matt, way outside. But congratulations,
like getting that kid to prom yes, you are very good.
Strike two Bryce Harper, Wow, did you not see that
pitch coming? I could tell it was a splitter from

(05:58):
the time it left the pitchers and you did not
see it. Map Map, It's one hell of a process.
And Bryce Harper is hitting the umpire over the head
with a bet time out umpire would be.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Inevitable, wouldn't it be? Some one would turn and try
to hit whatever. That's why umanical unit is there.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
That's why you need the robot to have the taser
so we can just get out of trouble. Yeah, really
do it right with a robot mPire? You only got
this in my I mean only a year or so away. Man,
it is progressive by Manford. Now I've given them credit
major League Baseball because they were really good with the
streaming side of things. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
For as slow as they are to move on a
million other things, they were really good at that embracing
technology and stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Shout out Rick wop And now potentially here with the
robot umpire coming to Major League Baseball, that would be huge, huge.
You never know, what does he look like, Eric greg No, no, no, no,
he looks like a guy. He's got to look like
a robot. Man, he's got he's got to look like
a robot. Make it look and make it look like
Robert Patrick. What you think? No, that's too human, like

(07:03):
nineteen sixties robots. Like That's what I want, Like a
really big like with you can hear the data going
and and like spits out a card or.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Something card like sixty six Classic, Yes, exactly, super kidd
in the back computer.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, just like what's the name and unfrosted, the unfrosted
the machine that put out the cards. That's what I want.
That's what I want to be.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon Live the Tire
reg dot com studio boy. So while we're again, think
about that robot on pie you've taken it down and
do it dark path here. It's a great story because
then eventually you have them on the base pass too,
and now it's a full robot tea.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
I worry a little bit about what if they decide,
what if they go rogue and join forces?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Well, if there's four of them in the same location,
do you have to have a backup CPU at the ready?
I mean, now we're talking, I mean you could hack
those chips and build yourself an army.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
No, that's I do. I have Angel Hernandez ready. Hey,
you're not going up, but you're gonna be the backup
up and you get to go in if something happens
to the robot.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
No longer an empire or security guard. You have to
guard us against the robot coup. I worry about the
I worry about the robots on the dirt. Do they
come with lasers that's been deactivated? Right, that's in the
it's in a future model.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
I promise exit out about a Fresca exit swollen down
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carbon Live, The Tire
Reck dot Com Studio Matt. Now the Celtics win tonight,
and they win going away over the Pacers. We've talked
about this a few minutes ago. Look, the Eastern Conference
Finals are over the Celtics. People forget they're more talented
than anybody else in the East. Yes, they have an
easy path. It is thereby to the NBA Finals. We've

(08:42):
talked about for the last three weeks. No Jimmy Butler,
no Donovan Mitchell. The last couple of games. Now Tyre's
Halliburton is hurt. They're going to Indiana up to Zip
and for a different conversation about the Celtics for a
couple of minutes. Here, all we've heard and all we've
seen the last couple of weeks is, Hey, the Celtics
are gonna give you games. They're gonna choke at some point.

(09:03):
They're not strong enough mentally. I don't know what their
offensive strategy is. They don't seem to have one. I
don't see the impact Joe Mizula has on the team
and the Celtics this is why they fall short. They
just don't seem like a team. That's all there, right.
The best description I saw online the other day was
that They're like the team that doesn't go to class
all year and then at the end studies one night

(09:24):
for the final and gets an A and winds up
getting an A in the class. But let's take this
from a different angle, because the Celtics again are still
the best team in the Eastern Conference. They're still going
to the finals, they still won by seventeen games. Why
because they do have a strategy, and they do. It's
just not what you'd like it to be or what
we normally see out of teams. When we see a

(09:45):
team doing well offensively, we think of the Golden State
Warriors and the system that Steve Kerr brought in, or
whatever movement system that Greg Popovich has in San Antonio.
What the Celtics try to do is they try to
out talent you. And they can because top to bottom
they're one of the top two or three most talented
teams in the NBA, even without Porzingis. But that's the strategy, right,

(10:08):
you think out talent is, oh, we got to be
able to own that a little bit and move it
in shape it so so you're not just getting by
on talent. I'm sorry, but sometimes when you're that talented
that's the strategy, because if you're that good, you are
gonna beat the majority of teams, even if they have
a better system, they play a certain way off the ball.

(10:29):
If you have more talent, you're gonna win, especially if
you're playing teams that their best player is out. I mean,
you watch Tatum and Jalen Brown play a two man game,
it's just phenomenal. You watch White come in and hit shots,
and it's like they're doing their own thing on the court.
And do I think Joe Mizula for a second has
them working on all these plays top to bottom. No,
he doesn't. But that's also the mark of something that

(10:51):
a good coach does is that, Okay, he comes in,
takes over much in duress right after the ema Udoka situation,
and what does he I have so much talent here,
and we win games this way. And if the guys
are continuing to play this way, I'm gonna get the
best basketball out of them, and they're gonna play as
well as they can if I try to put them

(11:12):
in a system. Is Jason Tatum still gonna be great?
Is Jalen Brown still gonna be great? Is porzing Is
still gonna be great? Is white still gonna be great?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Right?

Speaker 1 (11:21):
What's gonna happen if I try to put them in
a system that may or may not work. So you're
kind of stuck. What else can you do but say, hey,
let's go out and we will out talent the other teams.
Now once in a while, that's enough to get all
the That's enough this year, it's enough because everybody's gotten
hurt in the East and in the West. Who knows
who's gonna be standing. The defending champions are out. If

(11:41):
it's the Tea Wolves, the bright lights for them. If
it's Dallas, it's two players, right, So it's there for
the Celtics this year. But out talenting people is a
strategy when you think about how if they changed, they
wouldn't be the same team. They're still good defensively, they
make plays any two on defense, and when they need
buckets on offense, Tatum does something where he looks unguardable

(12:02):
half the time, Like how does he not get to
loop every single time and score fifty a game? They're
just that good. But that is a strategy and getting
the best you can out of them and turning them
to the best versions of themselves. That's something that the
Celtics do better than anybody. It's not what everybody likes,
and it's something that's got flaws. But you know what,
other teams have flaws too, Whether you're too small, whether
you're too slow, and that's something you can't get past,

(12:23):
but you try to figure it out. But yet those
flaws are accepted and these flaws aren't. I'll take the
Celtics flaws with what they can do over other teams
flaws any day of the week.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Can you look at the construction right, you start with
Tatum and Brown, but work from there. Off the bench,
you know you're not terribly deep in terms of contributors,
but Prisette played twelve minutes plus eighteen right getting him
off the bench. Pritchard had twelve points, four of six shooting.
You'll get poor Zingis back here at some point, but

(12:52):
you don't need to rush him back at a two
to zero lead. Going back especially, We'll keep an eye
on whatever is going on with Haliburton. But you've got
White who's been putting up shots and been hitting consistently
the ageless, because that's kind of where we're at. I
don't know that we've put a tag on him just yet.
But al Horford still gives you a double double most

(13:12):
nights or close to it right tonight, a little short
on the point side, but still ten rebounds, four off
the offensive glass. And then you have the luxury of
Holiday who comes over and he sacrificed some offense to
become a part of this Celtic squad. Right he was
averaging five shots a game more the last couple of
years in Milwaukee. He gives you your defensive presence and

(13:35):
he can come in and hit shots. He goes for
sixteen tonight, six to seven from the field, three or
four from three point range and once again doing a
great job defensively. We saw and we talked about it
after game one, what he did with Aliburton. Now you've
got him compromise. We'll see what goes forward. But it
gives you flexibility if you're Joe Mizzoula. So all of

(13:56):
that to say, you've got guys that in different spots
can take over, and if Jalen Brown's gonna play like
he did tonight, you're in trouble.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Look look, this is what I mean when I say
the Celtics can out talent you. They and and they're
The thing is, they're good enough defensively. They're not quite
they're not the Timberwolves, but they're good enough defensively if
the team's left outside of the Pacers in the NBA
playoffs or all really good defensively, right, the Timberwls obviously
are the best, but Dallas is pretty good. So are
the Celtics. The Pacers are not. And so Acer's calling

(14:29):
guard was we're gonna outpace you, yeah, and we're gonna
run down and that's how we do it and try
to outlast you. But when you can play defense as
well as the Celtics can, and and look the Knicks
can do it that well too, but obviously being without
and Unobi and and and and Mitchell Robinson and how
hard it was, it becomes more difficult. But this again,
people remember, oh yeah, there's a reason why the Celtics

(14:50):
won all these games. It's like when you hear about
the Celtics the last couple weeks, if you didn't know,
you would think this is a team with all kinds
of talent that barely squeaks into the playoffs. They're an
eight seed, they get swept in the first round. I mean,
they just haven't won a title. This is their year
to do it. I'm full of this. If they if
they don't win this year, they're never gonna do it.
But wow, things are really open and that that that
door is opened wide for them to win the title

(15:12):
this year.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
And in theory, get it, get a little bit of
rest because I would imagine the Western Conference we're going
six or seven, right so if you go out and
don't play with your food, you should have ample time
to get ready for the next round. And give Porzingis
plenty of time to get himself ready.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Exit out about a Fresco exit swollen down The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmen live from the tirerac dot
Com Studios. We'll have more NBA later on this I
we're gonna hear from Rick Carlisle as well, because boy,
he's not happy about a little bit of a line
of questioning. But coming up next the quarterback controversy. You
didn't know you wanted and we may get jets hit

(15:51):
no stop, stop stop everything the quarterbacks right there. You
didn't know you wanted, but we may get it. It's
next right here. Jason and Mike Fox just love it
already Jason, that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
Why not? No, that's not Do you know what fear is, Jason?

Speaker 7 (16:10):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yes, I'm like, I'm afraid, You're never gonna stop playing
the song.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
No, fear is just misunderstood love.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
If a guy's running at me with a knife and I'm.

Speaker 6 (16:22):
Afraid, just hug them.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Oh is that what helps?

Speaker 6 (16:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:25):
I see the movies, when they get close, you're done.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
Did anybody try to hug that.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
There's no hugging.

Speaker 6 (16:30):
See.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
I see people getting close, there's no hugging. I think
if they hug them, it would have worked. Really, Yeah,
I disagree. We'll agree to disagree.

Speaker 2 (16:38):

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Your group right? What is this? The weeping what is it?

Speaker 6 (17:46):
The weeping willows?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Is that what the royal otis? That's right, that's right.
I should remember that roy amos otis royals royal otis.
I should know that.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
No, it does work out. I mean is that how
they were named? Kind of like the Lord's saw Long.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Royal Oh yeah yeah from George Bratt. Sure, but I
get but that's how I could remember it. Paid by
that sterry Michael Scott with the Office. A miss otis
played for the Royals. Royal Otis. Royal Otis is the
name of the acually done. Yeah, very good. That's how
I used to remember how to get where when I
first moved into our new hot like the house we
lived in a few years ago, like it was brand

(18:22):
new freeway everything else. And I said, Okay, when I
get off the four all five North, which way do
I go off the exit? I wouldn't know, And I
used to think, okay, four or five North. North is
a movie with Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis was a lefty,
is a lefty, so I'm making a left hand turn.
So that's how I would do it, four or five
North off the exit, whereas a North North he was,
He's lefty. I make the turn.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
First time we got the movie North has been referenced.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Yeah, that's figured that in a long long time. Well, well,
we did a bit on Mike North last week, so
I think that was pretty good. We haended on here.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Oh got him a big deal. That's all the way.
Going back to nineteen ninety four, the quarterback controversy. You
didn't know you wanted that. We may get except I
really don't believe it. I really need it to happen.
I mean, I mean, it would be fantastic. But there's
reports on social media tonight we've seen that potentially a

(19:14):
couple of things are happening in Eagles OTAs that maybe
or maybe not, Kenny Pickett is out playing Jalen Hurts,
and maybe or maybe not, the Eagles are looking to
put in a package where Kenny Pickett plays quarterback and
Jalen Hurts also is on the field in a running
back position. Now I've seen this, and if everybody's crazy
with this and all the big qb ones, pictures of

(19:36):
Kenny Pickett are flying all over the internet now like
this is kind of fun. But I can't believe this
is true. I can't believe.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
And there's only one reason why I can't believe this
is true. One reason. One reason.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
One reason is it because you're a big believer in
the acumen and proficiency of Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I love Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I love I mean you love Jalen Hurts more than most,
even in a downward slide at the back end of
the season. Oh sure, everybody was quick to say it's
because they changed O c's. Then what happened in the
first half of the season.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
It seems to work. Okay, yeah, no, the first well,
the Jets ruined. That ruined, and when they lost to
the Jets. That's it, man. They were they were undefeated,
broken by the Jets, broke that the Jets broke the Eagles. Okay,
so one thing, one thing. There's only one reason why
I don't believe these stories that Kenny Pickett is is
carving out the potential to have playing time. I I
the one reason, and you don't have to go too crazy.

(20:25):
Whether I'm not gonna eave be something existential. No, there's
only one reason why we dived to all of it.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
One reason why their phones were hacked and the reports
are from some random guy in a basement who's angry
at the world.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
No, maybe Jalen Hurts snubbed him for an autograph for questing.
Maybe it's a Jalen Hurts Burner account. But no, No,
it's good, good thinking. But no, it's much simpler than that.
It's much simpler. You don't have to go through this
whole thing and creating accounts. They're not a buying follower.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Someone invested a lot Kenny Pickett rookie cards. No, and
he's trying to cover his ass. It's your own fault
if you've the marketplace. Sorry, it's your own fault if
you've done that.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
There's only one reason why I don't believe any of
this Kenny Pickett is carving it. Could be on the
field the same time as Jalen Urts he's out playing with,
which is that a thing?

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (21:14):
By the way, can you really be out playing for
everybody in Ota? I mean, look at the reports out
out of Chicago. Caleb Williams got you. Your team is insane.
Your team is insane with with day one, seven on seven,
Caleb Williams struggled, your team is insane when he got
his ass today is insane. They're insane. But there's only again,

(21:35):
one reason why. It's very simple and a lay it
off for you right now. I don't believe Kenny Pickett
is carving out any sort of playing time because because
why Kenny Pickett stinks? What if he's stink stink past ten? No,
he's still and his brain trust of wizards he figured

(21:55):
out how to think. No, he stinks.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
I don't know that they use the proper uh spelling
Harry Potter at that point. But I'm gonna fare it
it out. Maybe they figured it out. No, maybe it
was one Dumbledore was holding Max this whole time to
propel your orange greatness, Harry.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Put your head in the pen sieve and see the
past and see how bad Canny Pickett stunk with the
Steelers and how badly he will stink now with the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
All right, bigger villain Dumbledore for kind of screwing around
with Potter and just kind of watching the misery or
the freeloading grandpa from Willy Wonka.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Who can dance, and bigger villain because the freeloading grandpa
just freeloading. I mean, he's not doing anything. Dumbledore is
one saying, oh hey, sorry, Harry, we were gonna have
you killed at the end to save everybody. I know
if you know that, But that was our plan. Sorry,
I know, I know it's weird, and I know I
wound up dying too. And here we are at King's
Cross and everything is white and there's a baby of

(22:49):
some kind on the ground. I'll tell you that was
a plan, Darry, Sorry about that. He was a bigger villain,
huge villain. If you're just hanging out, you're not that
bad kind of screwed some other people. You only screwed
over Harry. Hey, what's your name? Jumped into the chocolate river.
She was, she was, There was nothing where the It's
not like the grandpa went by and just nudged her in,

(23:11):
said hey, look at that. Maybe they didn't show it. Hey,
you see what's down there? We know what's down there.
Maybe maybe he was actually a guy.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
If you had another alternate camera angle, you saw there
he was Nudget Augustus gloom no knowing his thirst and
gluttony was gonna take him down.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
It was a little nudge in the right direction. The
big the worst thing you can probably charge him with is, hey,
you know what, in about forty years, ruk Assault. That's
gonna be the name of a very forgettable grunge type
band from the nineteen nineties. All right, so you have
that to look forward to. All right. They congratulations. They
really tried to make Verruka Salt happen. Dan, They really did. No,

(23:49):
But Kenny Pickett stinks he's no good right And and
I don't know. Look, could it be a message for
Jalen Hurts? Could it be whatever? But I can't for
a second believe they're really gonna came out like a
house of so maybe he got him on the white board.
He was a genius in Pittsburgh. They didn't know what
they were Forget about three years of Jalen Hurts and

(24:11):
coming from a second round pick and do an MVP finalist,
super Bowl player, undefeated through the first win, eight weeks,
whatever was last year. In five days, suddenly Kenny Pickett's
great fire under his ass. If Nick Sirianni does that,
the rest of the NFC East is gonna Hey, let's
pop champagne.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Man.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
This is exciting because now we have a chance because
now Week two, that quarterback battle is gonna be Daniel
Jones and and Kenny Pickett. Get ready for that. Fox
is gonna love having that game. But think about Matt
Canada's put Tom Tom Brady on that game. It's about
now one. Yeah, let him do the Giants and the Eagles.
What it is Daniel Jones and Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
In the end, is Greg Olsen gonna end up back
on the number one team because of the ownership. They're
gonna say, Tom, what do you think about this quarterback matchup?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Right now? Left handed? I'm better than both of them. Okay,
thanks Tom, Right, look forward to see your analysis during
the game. I would hope for that blunt honesty. These guys,
you're taking that blaker blaker over me, this guy over me. Well,
you know there's still some of that. There can't be
Leney and we blamed Canada, right, that offense was inept,
you had talent? Yeah? Was it all Kenny Pickett's fault?

(25:17):
A lot of it? A lot of Now you're the quarterback,
you're well, was it all pickets? A lot of it?

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
No, you're right, probably a lot. But let's call it
what it is. Their offensive game plans were a joke.
Let's let's let's see the exact moment where Mike Harmon says, Oh,
I think I've overstepped. Clearly, this is all orchestrated. Yeah,
kind I know you're right, I was. It wasn't his fault.

(25:45):
I'm still blaming. Yeah, probably might have gotten a little
more than half.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Mostly again, going back to the pizza argument that we're
gonna use. How much of the pizza have yeaten? Is
it more than fifty percent?

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Said?

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Maybe Kenny Pickett was slightly more, but maybe you go
to Philly and they figure it out in an offseason.
You get him in front of a whiteboard, you start
chalking it up, you start looking at your your offensive
personnel and schemes, and this is the guy that you
think maybe there's something.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
If nothing else. Jalen Hurts had a bad second half
the year, but there's no fighting with a five days
that he's gone from now. Either he is out pacing
Jalen Hurts or he's carving out a role in the teer.
There's no pads, they're not even He's just throwing a
ball the other guys who are running five yards and
turning around. This is what OTAs are, and this is

(26:34):
what we do. Why because nobody wants to watch the Pacers.
He really he throws that ball. The brown whose playing
an A and Anthony Edwards isn't giving him any more.
Michael Jordan's he's saying he's tired. You'll show.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
What do you do?

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Hey, there's football on a field. Write a football story, please,
please please. What Kenny Pigott did was he avoided the
tire and he was able to throw that screen past
the Devonte Smith I really like that a lot.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah, they're selling newspapers with that you say he is dominating.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
He was perfect in his pass a tech kiling. It's
like a pro day. I can't believe it. I can't
believe any of you're thrown against air, No way, I
can't believe any of them.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
You lob it up and just tell the guy you
better damn well run on it, or you're not getting
paid carving out.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
A roll in the offense fin as he said, No, no,
he hasn't thrown against any defenders or anything else. He's
just basically warmed up. But he's carving out a role
on offense. I mean, come on, man, it's a headline. Man,
it's a headline.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Way, you know. The middle of May said play kate
the thirst, the absolute hunger and desire for football content.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Can't we just talk about more Aaron Rodgers interviews that
he's giving you here talking about more podcasts?

Speaker 3 (27:40):
He's I don't know, you're talking out him shine saying
pete and love me and hate me, You're never gonna
turn away.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
And that's why.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
But if we go and we do really well, did
we pay back the networks because they said we owed him?

Speaker 1 (27:54):
What happens after that? Now? If we talked enough football
because I really have a theory about the moon. I
want to tell you I think that's probably where it
turcreas in the five minutes on Football is up. Now
you have to ask me about what's going on on Pluto.
It's gotta be a giant countdown clock over his head.
I want to tell you why The Watchmen is real

(28:16):
and Doctor Manhattan is really living on Mars and we're
waiting for him to come back and save us for
the election. In the fall, Doctor Manhattan will be president
of the United States.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Member When Cane and Codos were whirling, whirling, whirling, it's
gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
You think they're not real. You think Kangakotos aren't waiting
around to take over the Earth. I got news for you.
I've read stuff on the internet. You just watch. I mean,
I'd rather I think there's more. I think there's more
real stuff and whatever Aaron Rodgers would say about that
than there is with this Philadelphia Rogers. Hey, you saw
that that creature in the Severe the other day. Real,

(28:53):
It's real, just under the surface. And here's the thing.
I mean, the Watchman is real. The TV show maybe
not the Minute of the Common So much of the
movie they made a few years ago with the TV
show That's Real. How do you think they're gonna start
robot umpire? You think that's not the gateway to robot
the robot Apocalypse. Just wait, I'm telling you, but as
soon as you got more of them on there has

(29:14):
more credence than Kenny Pickett is carving out a role
in the offense and he looks better than Jayleen. I
don't believe that.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Come on, hey man, we can all be heroes just
for one day, all right, A little bit of positivity
for Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
They're trying to build him up.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Look at what happened, how he was torn down to
nothing because he's stuck because of the Steelers fan base
and national puns like.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
The Steelers families. One's propping them up, saying we see
all your incomplete passes and lack of touchdowns, but we
don't care because we still some reason think you're great.
By the end of the year, they abandoned it, just
like just like you abandoned all your favorite players and
say they did you wrong. Same thing. They're trying to
build him back up.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
They say, if we give him enough positive reinforcement, he
can be a ye able asset for us as we
continue our quest to win the NFC East.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
And roll all the way through to New Orleans into
Super Bowl. Let me stop you right here. Let me
take you back to five minutes ago when I said, yeah,
kind of is an pigs fuzzy? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (30:13):
Yeah, no.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Canada or.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Right?

Speaker 1 (30:24):
All right about that right now? Doesn't mean it was
all his fault. There's still a path towards redemption. A
guy who was absolutely the Todd Haley of Fox Sports Radio.
It is steep, just gonna fight everybody out with what's
trending in the wide world of sports.

Speaker 5 (30:39):
By the way, as soon as you said Aaron Rodgers
has some opinions on the moon, I'm thinking, if.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
The moon was made of cheese, would you eat it?
But what if it were made of barbecue? Sparrobs? Holy cow?

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Hey nor nor.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
Harry Carrey, oh Man, Dorm's not here.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Well, I'm drinking tequila in this greasy spoon. Sandberg's hitting
the head. Both benches empty, and they come up to
me with this bottle and it's got a worm minute
he's bleeding from the temples. It doesn't look good. And
then the guy says that.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
You remember when Harry Carey, actually Harry on the air
just started spelling players names.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Back always yeah the best? How bad?

Speaker 6 (31:29):
It's gruns alotic?

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (31:32):
How would you spell Dallan's whale up? Dog the bug?

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Hey, let's get the Edmonton Oilers home radio call for
how the double overtime playoff game ended.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Tonight.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
Oilers were tied at Dallas to to double ote.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Home whitched the game free tu it's Connor Big.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
David Boilers Radio Network on AM six thirty. In case
you can tell, thirty two seconds into the second ot,
this was the West Final opener. Game two of the
series will be Saturday, and my hit on Edmonton tomorrow
is gonna be dug fire.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
I don't think they had come down by then. The
NBA East Finals Game two to Boston at home. Celtics
beat Indiana again one, twenty six to one ten Jalen
Brown with forty points. Tyrese Halliburton left late in the
third with a sore hamstring. By the way, last night's
West Finals Game one Mavericks at Minnesota averaged seven million

(32:41):
viewers on cable. The NHL got about two million viewers
on ESPN for Panthers beating the Rangers. The Cavaliers fired
head coach JB. Bickerstaff after four full seasons. The Pistons
are negotiating with New Orleans general manager Trajan Langdon to
become Detroit's new head of basketball operations. Toronto was awarded
a WNBA expansion franchise. It'll start playing in twenty twenty six.

(33:05):
Connecticut's four and oh after an overtime home win against Minnesota,
Charlie Hoffman as a one stroke lead at Colonial. Scottie
Scheffler shot at two over seventy two.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Wait, did you say Charlie huff has a one shot lead.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
Charlie Hoffman, Yeah, only only you.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Watch his putting. The knuckleball smoke. You should see the
path that ball takes into the hole. T shots, chip shots,
it's all knucklers. It's like, that's it. The ball just
dropped out of the sky. It's like rest of us
on the golf course.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Arizona Cardinals first round wide receiver Marvin Harrison Junior side
his rookie contract. He was drafted number four overall. The
top three are still unsigned. In the late MLB game,
Baltimore held on to beat the White Sox eight to six,
Toronto nine one over Detroit. That game was tied one
one after six innings. The win to Kevin Gosman with
ten strikeouts in six Oakland with five runs in the

(33:58):
bottom of the eleventh beca Colorado ten nine. The game
winner came on a basis loaded walk. Attendance in Oakland
Today six thousand and eight eighty six Atlanta shout out
the Cubs in Chicago three nothing, Marcelo Zuna sackfly as
forty seventh RBI that leads the Major leagues. Wins for
San Francisco, for San Diego and tan innings. Philadelphia won

(34:20):
at six straight and the Yankee shut out Seattle five nothing,
solo homers for Aaron Judge and jun Carlos Stanton.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve oll. I just really quick,
I did that fun little Harry carry bit with Ryan
Sandberg there for a second. Remember Sandberg had that really
rough medical update a few months ago, metastatic prostate cancer
and a boy, this is one of the big legends
of Major League Baseball just reported a few hours ago.
No signs of cancer. Ryan Samberg. Keep taking preventative drugs,

(34:47):
but no sign of cancer. So big news. Great news
for Ryan Samberg still upset about the home runs he
hit in eighty five to help the Cubs beat the
Mets and met. But congratulations for Ryan Samberg. I still
think about that time you had to home runs in
that game, extra inning game. Oh my goodness. All good thoughts.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
A lot of afternoons racing home from school to watch
the Cubs at Ryan Sandberg.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Coming up next. Uh yeah. Rick Carlisle was still a
little upset following the Pacers Game two loss. You'll hear
from him next Fox.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
WHOA WHOA Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon live from the tire rack
dot Com Studios. Biggest story in sports tonight. Celtics to
your commanding two game to non lead over the Pacers.
They win Game two going away one twenty six to

(35:43):
one ten. It was after Game two against the Knicks
Rick Carlisle decided to say it's a small markets, We're
not getting a chance. And well, you could say it
worked because they went on to win four the next five.
They move on to the Eastern Conference. Far Nicks also
had one problem in that series. Yeah, they were all hurt. Ye,
die didn't stink. They didn't stink. They were all hurt.

(36:04):
They all got hurt. Well, I mean they stunk. They
all got it at the end. They got hurt, they
got boat raced. Hey got hurt. They were all hurt.
And the Pacers shot seventy nine in the final game.
They missed one shot, miss one shot in the all
four quarters. Okay, shot that, Well, you're gonna win that game.
Defense in the history of the NBA is shot like
that in the game. Congratulations? Did you investigate them for

(36:26):
the dark art? I should? I think I will.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
But what did Rick Carlisle have to say following the
game Tartis haliburt and leaving the game due to injury
in the fourth quarter. Here are some of what the
PACER's head coach had to say just a week after.
He said this after Game two.

Speaker 9 (36:42):
As far as tie concerned, is it an aggravation of
the same injury or is it in some way new?

Speaker 1 (36:48):
It's the left ham string.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
I believe that's the same hamstring as before.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
So it's sore.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Yeah, that's that's so.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
I you know, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
I know there's hippo laws and stuff like that, but
I guess I could pretty safely say, you know, aggrevated.
So okay, I just I was I know you want details.
I don't have much, I mean other than it's sore.

Speaker 6 (37:13):
Okay, gotcha?

Speaker 9 (37:15):
What you obviously had to shake up the lineup a
little bit once he goes out. I guess what you
went kind of to the lower end of the bench
about halfway through the fourth What made you to kind
of decide to, you know, kind of go with that
when it was I think fifteen I think you're around
fifteen or something like that the point? What made you
decide not to go back to the starters as much to.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Look at some guys that I thought needed to look
You know, McDermott went in there and played well.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
You know, Isaiah Jackson brought a lot of fight to
the game.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
You know, Jalen Smith hasn't had much of an opportunity
to play in the playoffs, and so you know, I
wanted to see where he was at. And you know,
we weren't we weren't giving up, but it was an
opportunity to get some energetic, fresh guys in there to fight,
you know, and they did some they did some good things.
Are you know the guys that had played to that point.

(38:07):
You know, Pascal was very tired. You know, Aaron had
four fouls. He was he was tired, I mean, so
that was it.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
With Tyres?

Speaker 7 (38:16):
Did he come into tonight?

Speaker 1 (38:18):
So that's my knowledge, okay? And he hang on pause
for a seconds. Hang on. This is where the narrator
Ron Howard committed and say, this is the point where
Rick Carlisle got really upset with that whole line of
questioning God keep going. Well, he got a rebound and

(38:41):
Jalen Brown.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
I haven't watched it again, but Jaylen Brown looked like
he almost went through him to get the ball and
Tyree hit the floor. So he came back here and
he had a couple of tests done with his chest
and then you know he unfortunately return pretty QUI So.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
All right, do you stop right now again, Ron Howard voice,
This is where where Carlisle insinuates the big market Boston
Celtics didn't get that call against them, where the small
market Indiana Pacers team would have. Here we go, that's
where Carlos so not really happy, not really happy with

(39:24):
how things went, not happy with the line of questioning,
but I give him credit for not fully melting down
desperation into the we're just not getting here comes. I'm
sending another one hundred calls to the NBA about the
first two games here at Boston. At least he didn't
go there, and they might maybe he's learning a little
bit again.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
You think, I really think he got admonished by the
league office. Not just the thirty five thousand dollars fine,
but to question the integrity the sanctity of the sport
as he did.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
I think he got censured to a degree. Tone is
that case we would? Well, they started winning, they won
the next two games.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
I don't know anybody, but even in the game spots
where there was potential for obvious complaints because here he just.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
They won the next two games. I got blown out
in game five and they won game six in game seven,
so it's not like there was like, oh, this is
done it. Look they did to us. Now, Oh, I
can't believe that big markets, small markets, big market small markets.
Did you write him into your latest novel? Ast someone
you have killed off early? Yes?

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Or no?

Speaker 4 (40:28):
No, I have not.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
I still think he's from the future. Where's that jacket
zipped up? All the way? He looks like he's from
the future. Maybe he knows something We don't ask Aaron
Rodgers he'll know. Maybe he knows they already lose the
series and that's why he's not as crazy about it.
That could be he's surrendered. Up next, my buddy Ben
Mallor for Mike, I'm Jason. This is Fox next year.
