protection and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot Com
is the way tire buying should be. Why is today
at glorious Thursday? Is because the Mets one and the
Braves lost, and the Mets are back in the playoff. No, no, no,
well that's part of it. But is it because the
White Sox now have new direction, new manager. You got
Ozzy bit No, no, no, you didn't do that.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I'm wearing my jersey walks apart.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, no, you're wearing You're wearing your authentic white Sox
giveaway jersey, Hey, brought to you by Del Milk with
the big Dell Milk.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I mean we had to you know, you paid for
the tickets.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
They hand you the free stuff and it wasn't I mean,
I didn't tape over the logo.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Good.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
This isn't real polyester. What is this a prudential white Sox. Look,
I'm not walking near an open flame to test what
the material is. Se Sports Chicago authentic fan's right.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I didn't go in the store buying one. Now I'm
gonna go to Aye times suns out, guns out. Sometimes
it happens.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
But clearly the biggest story of the day, which we
will get into in depth in a couple of minutes,
Team USA lives to fight another day in basketball as
they hold off Serbia in the Olympics. An incredible day.
But we would be remiss if we didn't get you
caught up on what was happening now just for a
couple of minutes.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Here, Yeah, we gotta go. I've action.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
We got life football going on, not that one hey
Hall of Fame game where everybody, no, no, we got
real life couple of football.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Games, the Bears victory. Uh you played? Would you play?
Like eight minutes? And it doesn't matter? They won? You played?
What's in the bus? It's in the books.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
There's the opening kickoff. Boy, the kickoff looks crazy. Oh,
here comes the lightning? Games over.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
That was the game.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Wow, completely missing Brett Rippin and Colin Johnson in the moment.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
They had Have you not watched hard not yet?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You had a whole other twenty four hours to go
back and watch the greatness. I'd rather watch Colin Hay.
You think Colin Hay alone September eighth. You want to
go ringo in the All Star band? Let's go over
kid doo do do?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Two games going on right now. Giants lead the Lions
fourteen to three, this one late in the fourth quarter,
ending Hooker getting some it's all over for the Lion
run here in this game, Hendon Hooker getting some extended
run for the line.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
That's his name right.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Every extra time, everything was fine. I did not say
anything bad that everything is good, and he's gonna be
the guy that could be the one yelling, Oh, Roger Candell,
will anybody selling my jersey?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Not making money off this. No one's let me buy
a hooker Jerse. I can't believe this. But everything I
said was he's got extended playing time. You gotta pay extra.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Everything I said was fine. But meanwhile, talk about extended
playing time. Two minutes ago, in the fourth quarter, Panthers
in the Patriots, Patriots up seventeen to three.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
There's a reason why everybody seems to be really excited
about Joe Milton. And I'll tell you what. He has
been the star of the game tonight. Milton throwing for
a touchdown in fifty four yards, running for twenty five
yards of the big thirteen yards, scramble off seventy thirteen.
That's okay, you run seventy two to get thirteen. No boomer,

(03:54):
he would have had a lot of fun calling that.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Woo whoop whoop. B got guy Milton does.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I'll say one of this about Milton because now suddenly
it's gonna be boys.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
He better than.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Drake Man and I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna die on
the hill of They overdrafted Drake May. They got caught,
and they got they bullied themselves into drafting Drake May
just because a quarterback was there and they were picking third. Sure,
but I'll tell you what and and it's not that
Milton that Drake may was. You know, we played a
little bit tonight. He had one drive completed, a couple
of pens. Seems like they probably should have let him
have another series or so, right, and like, if you're

(04:25):
gonna look if you can rip that band aid off,
if you put the kid out there, yeah let him,
let him, let him work couple left, Right, let's actually
go through a couple of changes and a couple of
series to at least get your feet wet instead.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
All right, you at three nineteen. We'll see it later.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah, it's all good and look nothing bad, nothing he was.
He looked fine in the very short amount of time
he was in there. But Milton has come in and
I'll tell you what first thing I saw come and say, boy,
he looks a lot lighter than he did. You talk
about Lamar Jackson the thirty pound weight loss. Joe Milton
certainly looked a part his entire time in college, right
a start in Michigan in where he looked like he

(05:01):
was gonna be the next great quarterback of the guy
Harball was waiting for didn't work out, and I think
both teams figure out.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Okay, Michigan won the national title. I got JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Milton went to Tennessee and things worked out pretty good
from here because here he is now fighting his way
into the NFL. Yeah, and he could throw that football
over a mountain. He could, he could throw it through
a mountain. But he is so he look like he's
lost a little bit of weight, moving a little bit better,
and he can move and do things like this like
he did tonight. Get out of him, fads love it.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
That was a great play.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Now get out Yeah, I means are gonna love it.
Play by play, you're supposed to let people know what's
going on, not like you and I watching him and oh.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Oh, that was Joe Milton scrambling to one side.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
All the way back to the other side and running
for thirteen yards.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
It was big at spin. It was a big reverse,
big loop. That's what you're supposed to get by the
Oh oh oh oh it was.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
I was great telling you Joe Milton has skills. Man,
I'm saying, ruady, oh, he's ready to start. But you
look at the Patriots and I'm telling you, man, Drake May. Hey,
the shows today, just announcing the start I'm nervous about
I'm not, hey, look for the Jets. That's going to
be two more wins every year for the Patriots, but
still the way they did offensively and going after May,
I'm like, you sure about this guy?

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah? We talked about that drafty.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
We came out after the draft and first round ended
and looked at each other went, I just don't know.
But when you draft that high, like, you don't assume
that you're in a multi year period of suck. This
is not the White Sox baseball. No, you're picking You're
all right, we're picking third. We but we haven't. We're
going to be here again. We've got to take the quarterback. Yeah,

(06:56):
guess what, they may be back there next year. Maybe
they may be back there next year. Look, it's over unders,
what four and a half wins or five wins or something.
Just it's been such a quiet camp for a guy
to third. Overall, when the guy's taken right in front
of him, were said, oh, great, here you are. We're
inserting you as a starter. Hey, you're starting right away.
Caleb Williams, Hey, Jane daniels're starting right away.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Drake May.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
No, no, no, no, maybe third string Jacoby Brissett's our guy.
Now maybe between May and Milton there's a battle. Who's
going to be the back? Is like, whoa, did you
really take the right guy? Did you really take or
did you feel nothing more than we're picking third, we
have to do it. You could have traded with many
teams that would have moved up the third for May,
for JJ McCarthy, all that. Many teams would have done that.

(07:38):
You could have moved down and said, Okay, we'll get
our quarterback next year, because yes, we're picking third, but
in the end, we're getting the third best guy. So really,
and there's a drop off. You're talking about Caleb Williams,
who maybe one of the most pro ready guys that
we've seen in the last decade, the Heisman Trophy winner,
who is absolutely dazzling talent, and then Drake May. No,
but Drake May is Yeah, Drake May gets people fired.

(08:00):
Drake May doesn't work out, That gets people fired. Yeah,
but remember all the hype of Drake May before his
final year of college football. Sometimes, hey, right, never extra
year too long? No, if it's one, If it's one am,
and you can leave the party on a high note. Leave,
I'm gonna stay it till two thirty three. No, no, no,
leave on a high note. Now, one of my favorite
memes is the all right, we're gonna leave the party,

(08:21):
and then here's the look I get when they hear
the next beer crack.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
We're out of here. We'll see it later.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
I mean. They also say you could save several days
on your life every year if you leave an event
with the Irish.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Goodbye, you know, say goodbye, you just leave. How do
you how do you say? What do you mean save days?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Well, but the idea of like, because if you go
and you to the host or whoever to say goodbye,
odds are there's a group of people, so you end
up staying an extra half hour. So if you start
adding up all of those when you go to any
social gathering, okay, inner, extra meetings, you know, lingering at work,
or when you go to an a party or an
event that over the course of a year, that's several

(08:57):
days of your life that you're giving away with added
goodbye time instead of just going I'll see him.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Okay. But here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
If I'm doing that, if I'm doing it at work, functions.
Then all I'm gonna do is piss off people I
work with. He just walks away. He does just say anything.
Jason Smith w He comes over, says, eye, see the guy. Well,
I mean, what it years that you didn't show up?
But I mean he got that anyway, I'm doing it
at a party. I'm just it's just okay. So I
get home.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Twenty minutes later, I'm watching twenty minutes less of Kate.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, but did you enjoy those twenty minutes or did
you feel compelled because you didn't want someone to say,
yeah that Jason? He just left. He's a jerk. Hey
Jason was here. I saw him before. Hey Jason remember
that story.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
No, he left.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
I'm playing twenty minutes less of Spider Solitaire. That's twenty
minutes all I'm doing.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Okay, would you have enjoyed your Spider Solitaire?

Speaker 1 (09:41):
More Spider Man, Spider Soladar Hey, Goudlata Yeah, Frostburg.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
What if I were to tell you I know Milton's
future here? You do? Yeah? Oh ahead, what do you got? Well,
he's gonna end up at in attack okay, oh no,
and the company is going to decide to fire him.
But they're not gonna tell him.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Oh okay, so he's just gonna keep showing up and
he'll be like a camp arm and they're not gonna
pay him.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, that's exactly how it's going on from.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Oh well, I'll tell you you think you think? Jordd
Mail walks in, says, hello, Milton, what's happening? Why don't
you just sort of take care of the cockroach problem
we have here in the locker room. Tell you what,
get a get a what's it? Get something else in
a canapest what did you say? Get a blank and a.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Canna pesticide and sort of take care of that problem.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Around sevisit thet I could I could fit the building
on fire. Get a what and a canapesticide, that's what
he says, Get a get a float, get a flashlight,
that's his Get a flash flashlight and a canna pesticide
and sort of take care of that cockroach problem around.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's nicely done.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Maybe Stephen Rut will become like a like like the
mascot of the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Hey look who's coming to all the game.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
And he dresses up like Milton, and the big sign
is what's happening? And they say that for Milton every
touchdown he throws.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
That was all the guys that've he shirts is Milton's
face and a stapler on it. That's it. Frostburg.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, patt in this idea, man is good. He shared
the flashlight and the Pesta side. But you know, it's
funny because, as you said, there's not been a lot
out of Patriots camp. So as much as things may
be different in the post Bill Belichick era, other than
people showing up when they did for Belichick and company, nobody.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Ever cared about Patriots camp. They just went to work.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
They were always the ninetieth story, not show up like.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
This is the same thing. It's like, all right, these
guys are just playing so great.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
This is the best circumstance for him because outside of Boston,
nobody's paid attention to anything they've done in camp.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Although now Joe Milton has that highlight.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeah, I mean, look, look he is playing against all
Look I'm not going crazy about this because he's playing
against backups and backups, backups late in the game. But still,
you have not had a quarterback with supposedly incredible talent
sees a job or at least be talked about as, Hey,
this guy's in the mix. What a great camp he's having,
How good he looks. There's none of that. And I'm
telling him and JJ McCarthy, the two guys, I'm like, boy, really,

(12:04):
I don't I don't get that, man, I don't get
what people want to projected. Oh whatever they can't do
in college, they're suddenly going to be able to do
in the NFL. As you're family, your you know, your
wife's family, everybody had. They now just owned you because
of your dismissal of McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Oh no, no, he's done. Is that okay? Yeah, because
I mean you kind of disparaged him. Last matter.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
They won, but they won, doesn't matter, Okay, they won,
just like the US let's winning winning cures evolved. W
it doesn't matter no matter how horrible you play in
different sections of the game.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
But I'm winning.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
But I'm telling you, man, I mean, I'm telling you
this is just a watch out and watch how things
go Drake may New England with this. I'm telling you,
this is a big story and he's someone that his
time goes on.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
It's going to be Why isn't he played well? Real quick?

Speaker 1 (12:54):
We talked about it like even if their offensives isn't explosive,
the defense is going to play pretty well, I think
when it's all said and done. So see can you
coax one extra scoring drive out? And if Joe Milton
is the guy that gives you a little bit of
the electricity and can extend plays like that, that probably
gets him a victory and an extra long look exit

(13:15):
up about a Fresco exit swollen down the Jason Smith

moves on to the gold medal game against France on Saturday,

(13:37):

the curve, except we do because we were way ahead
of the curve with how things played out today.

caught up a lot in uh ty shirt.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
You're going to hell for that. You're going to hell.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
You're going to take help for all your opinions. No,
because my opinions are good, so are mine.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Uh you pressed.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
A button that's a great opinion. And you insulted the
United State hates of America. You are rooting thing, you
are rooting against America. I want I'm gonna give you
the Homer Simpson. You don't like it, move to Russia. Okay,
that's what I'm gonna tell. You're right, you don't like it.
That's what you do, all right, I'm down, all right.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Alex Sich from Fox Sports Radio. Here we go. The
song comes in now, Uh, Running Up that Hill might
be a number one hit over there right now.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
In the words of Kobe, job's not finished. No, no, no, Hey,
Running Up the Hill's a brand new song in Russia.
It's a number number one this new song from Strange
of Things. Bit Jury, best character, he is best. Best
one is Judy. No, he's not the No, he's in Joe,
He's Russia. I don't care Russians.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Number one thing. Russians don't like Russians. Okay. There were
side each other naked in the snow. They were excited. Okay.
You know what though that I don't think that's true.
I think you just said I don't think that's true.
You've never watched it. What Russian soldiers fighting naked in
the snow?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I've never seen They literally ride bear really really really
they ride there.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
You're walking around? Where do I where?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Where can I see this on the internet? No, I'm
not gonna ask no, never mind, no, okay, yeah you.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Can't.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
You listen.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Don't send me any dark web stuff. Okay, I know,
I know. It's don Onion. Okay.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
There's a guy standing there with a stand up base
playing in the background. The website's literally called I Got You.
Sure it is, and it's a shirtless guy and a horse, Yes, exactly.
But I'll tell you the guy I was dot gov
a good one, uh is all summer long. The guy
I've been buying all the hype on has been Melik Neighbors.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Right, just all everything you've read, what I've seen. Hey,
what a what?

Speaker 1 (17:42):
What?

Speaker 2 (17:43):
What a what?

Speaker 1 (17:43):
An uncoverable guy? This is like very very similar to
what was said about Tank Dell in the last off season.
Tank Dell's turned out to be a great play. Got
hurt obviously in the middle of year last year, but
he was terrific. So I'm buying all the hype on
Molik Neighbors. Yes, he's uncoverable. Dane Jones come down tonight,
Molik Neighbors. Twelve snaps, no targets.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yeah, there was one of you play that highlight back
of the Milled run. It would play just the same.
They ran around.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
There was one play where he ran down the field
open and Drew Locke didn't see him, which, let me
say this, Welcome.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
To the New York Giants, Elk Neighbors. That's gonna happen.
But I mean, can he try to force a trade
to the pages? So spit a little bit more. Here's
his debut is twelve snaps in this ifn force feed
him the ball, just make the fans happen.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
If he's uncoverable, you're gonna find him, right, And that
also means your DB's uncoverable, you're gonna fight. But again
it means that your defense made me one t him like,
oh all this hype Moleak Neighbors now like, no, dude,
I'm taking Marvin Harrison before him. I'm taking Rome of
Dunes Ain't before him. No, no, no, Elite Neighbors. He's uncoverable.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Yeah, we're working on our fantasy rankings as we speak.
All I can say is Giants fourteen, Lions three.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Sorry, Milik Neighbors.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
So I mean all the g he's so uncoverable, okay,
and twelve snaps one time when they throw the ball,
he's gonna be uncoverable, right, one time you did look
for him. You're looking for him, You're not you know
you're not looking for a Key Nix. Okay, so all,
I got all these other guys out here. You know
you're not looking for Mark Bavaro, Jeremy Shots is not
running out.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
On this field.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Shots, Okay, who are you looking for your first round pick?
Malik Neighbors. Yes, the one play that was missed, and again,
get used to that, especially when you run deep with
your hand up and don't.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Get the ball. But still twelve snaps, no targets.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Oh man, if I'm doing my fantasy draft right now,
I'm dropping you like I'm dropping you like below Malachi
Corley like you League Neighbors, just dropping because I'm like
reactionary like that. I'm just dropping him all the way.
If you're just done with him, forget it and then
he'll move back up.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Oh yeah, I got opportunity to shine next week. Sure?
How many catches for Sterling Shepherd?

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Twelve twelve, one hundred and forty yards. I didn't think
I was gonna say that, did you, Sterling?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Oh you have giants.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
I didn't, And they did give us a lot of
entertainment in offseason hard knocks dot Gov showing you how
not to run a business and certainly how to make
sure that you have enough tape or whatever it is,
shaving cream or something to cover the camera so they
don't actually see what you're doing. Let's we got more

(20:17):
football on the way, because boy, wait till you hear
Jerry Jones today. We told you a knew Jerry Jones
is coming, and he's here. But obviously, look the biggest
story of the day, one of the most exciting basketball
games in the last few years. The United States comes
from down fifty in the fourth quarter to beat Serbia
to move on to the gold medal game Saturday against France.

(20:38):
And let me just say this, because over the course
of the Olympics, we've told you it doesn't matter what
happens as long as we win. It doesn't matter who plays,
doesn't matter who doesn't play, as long as we win.
Jason Tatum's not getting any minutes doesn't matter. We won, right,
all the critics, it's like, it's not winning is not
good enough for anybody. It's not good Why is Jason

(20:59):
Tatum not play? It doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
We won the game. But you know why that gets exacerbated.
That doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Point spread's always been there, but it's never been so
prevalently shown in all the coverage, even of Olympic stuff.
So it's like, oh, they're seventeen point favorites, Well, cruise,
it's your fault if you're betting your team USA Basketball
because they've shown you we're not gonna cover. Okay, we're
not gonna cover. We'll win, but we're not gonna come spreads.
We're not gonna do it. They're not that team. Bet
against them. Bet against you win more, bet against you

(21:27):
win more. But all this credit all we should have
done this, and Steve Curtis should have done this. You
know what, every just stick it. Steve Kerr is the
best coach for this team. And for all the things
you want to criticize Steve Kerr for, which was just
the first three quarters, it was all like if they
played Jason Tatum, suddenly the score would have been flipped
and we would have been beating Serbia by twenty. No,

(21:48):
it's not the case, right, Steve Kerr has a job
of trying to find out which guys are meshing on
the floor at the best in that moment. Doesn't have
a lot of time to figure out how the twelve
best guys were twelve of the best guys because Jalen
Brunt is not there, twelve of the twelve of the
best guys and Tyre's Halliburton's a DNP now almost in
every single game. Oh by the way, Lebron's plea, he's

(22:08):
gonna get a gold medal just the same, still gonna
be called a champion.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
All all of this.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Criticism of how to Steve kerrz got the job of
trying to find the right guys, and in the first
half it was how do you go with these guys?
As well as Steph Curry was playing Lebron. Look at
the old guys, they're getting beat. What is Steve Kurr doing.
What is Steve Kurr doing?

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Well? What happened in the fourth quarter? Do you have
the right guys on the floor or not? Oh?

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yeah, he had the right guys on the Florida win
that game. He had Lebron, he had Steph, he had
Embiid for the most part, who was keeping both teams
in the game. And Booker. Yea, he had the right
guys on the floor and we won. Nothing else matters.
The rest of it is irrelevant. We won and we're
playing for the gold medal on Saturday. And I say
this because for all the Steve Kerr hate that was

(22:53):
going on all day, it was gonna be his fault
if we lost. Serbia fails to foul with twenty six
seconds left and they're down too, which is the most
ridiculously stupid strategy that I don't understand that real basketball
minds want to continue on with this. The United States
are Jokicic gets a bucket and they're down to with

(23:13):
twenty six seconds left, so you have like a two
second difference on.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
The shot clock.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
You're fouling right away, because the United States can take
the shot clock all the way down to three seconds,
and by the time if they let's say they hoist
up a last second shot with three seconds left on
the game clock and it hits the rim, by the
time you get it the clock hit zero, you don't
have any play. I don't understand what Serbia was doing,
trying to let time tick away all the way down

(23:38):
to they foul Steph Curry with a handful of seconds left.
He makes both free throws, the game was over. Serbia decided,
Oh We're gonna biff the end of this game and
give it to you. That was the worst coaching decision possible,
and I'm watching it go. It great for us, Hey,
this is awesome, but wow, you ate Steve Kerr. Steve
curR ain't doing something like that when the chips are
down and you're talking about the end of a seventh

(23:58):
final game to go to the gold medal.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
And every everybody's nerves are like this, I don't know
what to do. How do you not foul?

Speaker 1 (24:03):
You need to extend the game when you're down when
it's basically the shot clock in the game clock are
exactly the same. That's basketball, one on one. Yeah, so yo,
kitch with the layup, it was twenty four seconds left.
Get the ball, KD gets it to Curry and then
you have the flop or offensive file depending on your perspective.
You know, Dwayne, Wayne of course called it.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
You know it's a.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Flop, like you can hit the guy in the face
his utmost either way, and then he gets over to
the other side of the court. And I thought the
guy tried to follow him multiple times and they didn't
whistle it like because they started talking about it on
air again. I kept the sound up long enough to
my own detriment, But I thought he followed him well
beyond the arc. But then the whistle didn't come for

(24:47):
another three or four seconds. Did they waste time? No
question about it. But was it as egregious as it's made.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Out to me?

Speaker 1 (24:53):
I don't think so, because every other time you've gone
and tried to follow a guy deliberately, you get the
unsportsman like nonsense. So I think you're playing a fine
lot or whether they're gonna call it all? How many
times did you see the big men down low? I
got two hands on your shoulders. I'm ripping you away
from a rebound. So you don't know when the calls
gottually gonna come. Man, you think you think the calls

(25:15):
were crazy today?

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Wait? Did you get to the gold medal game?

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Go back, Go back and watch again the France Germany
game that preceded it. Oh, holy good lord, that was
some efficient way. Do you see Lebron and stuff foul
out in the first half? Lady Wenby's on the line.
Wenby's been in the line twenty five times in the
first half of this game. Wait, do you see that
home cooking refereeing on it was unlo that game's watching

(25:40):
them today. There there's moments where it's like, all right,
they're playing Gaelic football, right, I've picked up my dribble.
Now I'm gonna take three steps. Now I'm gonna dribble again.
There was one with Lebron that was obvious, and then
you had a couple from Serbia as well. Jokis did
it a couple of times in the lanes, like we're
really kind of mixing all sorts of sports. I get

(26:00):
the Olympic spirit of all the different games that were celebrating.
We're still supposed to be playing basketball, right, so confusing.
The other thing is they went broke from the outside.
They were zero for nine from three point ranks.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Seven of ten.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Inside the arc were Serbia in the fourth quarter, but
oh for nine all of a sudden, all the the
blitzing from early because you watch soccer, what's one of
the cardinal rules as a defender, don't dive right, don't
dive in one touch gets around you. For the United States,
they kept going for steals and then it was wide
open looks early on better closeouts late, but certainly some

(26:36):
wide open looks.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
That suddenly weren't falling for Serbia.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
And you know they made Lebron mad because they kept
looking at Carmelo Anthony. Suddenly he became the touch point
for everything on. I do need to say this hang
On as great, You're right, I need it became all
about Carmelo as much of as much of a proponent
of what Steve Kerr is doing as I am, how
great a job he's doing. I do need to say,
I think the best coach on the floor at the

(27:00):
end of the fourth quarter was Carmelo Anthony. I really,
I mean watching watching him shout whatever he was shouting
out to KD, watching him shout shouting out to Lebron.
Carmelo's showing, Hey, I'm the real coache.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
You got a lot of run late.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
In the game, like, and he was in their heads, right,
he was in Bogdanovitch and all those guys are too
worried about it. Danavich is doing the mellow three pointer celebration.
Like I thought at one point him and his kid
were gonna go on the floor. I'm like, don't get hurt.
You're going to Syracuse. You means you have like a
five star recruit. Okay, just don't get hurt running on
the floor, don't get suspended, he gets tackled. But this

(27:34):
you know from a fan for Spout. Okay, so there's
your there's there's my bit of anger and the Steve current,
all the hate and run.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
That's what we've been talking about. Al tournament.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
It's like, right, it may be a bit clunky, but
in the end, you win open seed and prosceed open season.
If you lose open season. If you lose but they didn't,
it doesn't matter who plays and who doesn't play. It
makes no difference. If we walk away with a gold medal,
it makes absolutely no difference. Schedule makers suck, by the way,
but two am for the bronze medal game, yeah, and
then knew and for the.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Gold Okay, Well, well, Mike, who's watching gold? I would
watch it. Gold is much more important than bronze.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
I'm just watching that for my only Mike wants to
watch the first losers instead of the championship.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
I want to watch the first loser. I would like
to watch them all compartmentalize without an eight hour break between.
I want to break. That's how it goes.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
How are you so you're you're anti that they put
the gold medal game in the best window possible.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I'm not saying that bronze.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
I'm saying the bronze medal should be a little closer,
kind of like it was today. Right, everybody's in the
tunnel waiting to come out watching the final minutes and
then they go, oh, so you want to like have
it have it postpot like the thing the Olympic games
are on such a locked schedule because they don't want
to run over because then you miss broadcasting rather elements,
you missed the beginning.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
So you've got it a kind of seven.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
You can't can't have the basketball? Like how many times
you go, oh, great, well, hey the first round. Uh
you know, Syracuse play to night first round of the
NCAA tournament, which I know I'm going back aways because
Syracuse is in the tournament. All the game seven O
five no, no, no, game is gonna be eight fifteen
because of all the delays because of.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
The games earlier. Now this game went late, this game
went late. It's okay, you got two games. You can
watch the game.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
No one's saying you can't watch watch a game. If
it's that important to you, work it out. What watch
the game. Watch you get up atwo o'clock in the morning.
What no one's saying you can't do it. They're not
They're not putting it on, not putting on television. Watch
a game, and watch a game, because I'm telling you
to make a point about the gap between the games,
and all of a sudden you're getting wide like I
offended your sensibilities of your life.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Matter what way you made it about Syracuse.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
No matter what.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, I put us back in the tournament. That's kind
of fun.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
But no matter what he says, they're doing this the
United States one. It's okay to be a fan for
five minutes. It's okay to be a fan for five
minutes of that, to quote the great Ricky Bullby, if
you're not first or last man.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
All right, well it's it's not wrong. I like how
you way in Sascha Baron Cohen in there, bull be
your keep bull be.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
But just for a second to think about that, right
the Steve Kerr the last two minutes of that game.
From a fan's perspective, just watching is about as exciting
a couple of minutes as you could possibly have watching
Lebron and Steph and KD and Booker, who's a lot
younger than those guys. But watching those guys play at

(30:21):
the top of their capabilities, playing with all kinds of pressure,
making big shots. Lebron is getting to the rack when
he wanted to. Steph is hitting threes that are bouncing
off the rim, up and down and in. And it's
one of those yelling at the television moments those last
couple of minutes, and that was that was some kind
of experience today, just for five minutes ago. Oh my goodness,
this is unreal. So you can spend five minutes doing

(30:43):
that before you say, I.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Why didn't Jason Data play? I can't believe Jason Tatum
didn't play that. They didn't play again, It's okay to
be a fan for five minutes.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Better hot take about who's not playing than actually winning
the game.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Are you kidding? Come on, what business are you in?

Speaker 1 (30:58):
It's okay to be a fan because everybody listening your fans,
they're all fans.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
They don't want to hear bears, they don't want to
hear Oh, the bronze medal game. My kid's good.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
At two o'clock in the morning, I'm not watching this Olympics.
Ever again, this is awful. Dare they put the bronze
medal game on? Oh?

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Dare they?

Speaker 1 (31:15):
I was just talking about a programming here. I can't
believe committed Kim Let's on at two o'clock in the
four hours to talk here. I believe I can have
a side if Look, if you could talk Syracuse, I
could take a side side view of what we're doing here.
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Love from the
tirec dot com Studios. We have that big Jerry Jones
story coming up, but straight ahead, the biggest story of

(31:38):
the day from the Olympics that I am gonna call
shenanigans on.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Yeah, that story that's next right here, Jason, I'm Mike Fox.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Live
from the Tirack dot Com Studios. Big NFL story on
the way in about ten minutes. But I'm telling you, man,
there's there's some shenanigans going on with everything revolving around
Noah Lyles today. Uh yo, Look, he doesn't win the
men's two hundred. He comes in third, and right after

(32:18):
he finishes his race today, Look, he's become one of
the big stars of the Olympics. Very polarizing. Some people
love him, some people don't like the fact that he
is very open about his his own abilities.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
We don't play for brons. They all hate him.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
But he loses his race and then immediately after he
has looked at on the track, he's putting a wheelchair.
They put a mask over him and it's revealed that
he was diagnosed with COVID two days ago. And I
saw that, and my first thought was, Okay, it's the Olympics,
and I get that he was gonna race.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I wouldn't want him to not race. It's outdoors.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
We know so much more about COVID now, but this
should be something that was made public before after the
race was over, right, Because here he is coming out,
and here he is coming out, and he's jumping around
like crazy for his introduction, runs the race. Then he's
hugging guys after the race is over, and I'm like, dude,
And now I find out you, dude, don't hug me

(33:21):
if you have COVID. I don't want you to hug
me if they're no matter what you feel about where
we are as far as wearing masks, not wearing masks.
No one wants to be hugged by someone with COVID.
And and the fact that this I felt like this
was held onto and NBC and oh, now we have
the story. We're gonna reveal everybody that he had COVID. Okay,
no one's gonna say, don't compete, but just be smart

(33:42):
about it, right, be smart, don't hug people. And how
much did COVID really affect you when you're jumping around
like that on the track, and it just the way
this was dealt with was just really awkward and handhanded.
And I felt like when an athlete has COVID that
that should be something that has made no to the
competitors other people, at least before the race. There should
be some kind of decision. And I would have want

(34:04):
him to race, of course I would. I think all
the competitors would say, yes, allow him to race. We're
not going to get COVID.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Just don't come over and hug me.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
I want to issue okay, walk, I mean, but right
after it's done, it's a mask and a wheelchair, and
I'm like, he was just jumping around like a crazy
guy when he comes out for his introduction.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Loving the introduction.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Then he comes in third and now, oh yeah, he
had COVID two days ago, and here he is able
to race. Okay, I don't know that COVID really affected him,
because clearly he was able to race really well, look
barely lost. I mean, this is not where all of
a sudden he came up halfway through the race coughing
and he couldn't finish it. So I'm not saying ye,
but he looked like he ran pretty well and then
all of a sudden to run with the here's the

(34:42):
COVID story after I'm like, oh this, this should have
been this should have been that, this should have been
known before you test positive for COVID. Okay, that should
be something that at least other people knew about.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
But the competitors know that, like behind the scenes, like
I haven't seen any I don't know. You know, look,
we get it caught up in the moment and you
run through it and all. But he's also a guy.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
He posted what was it a couple of days ago
talking about you know, anxiety, depression, but also adding you
know about allergies and asthma, and then you're at severe
risk for severe COVID and so you get the heroic
side of Hey, he ran with all of this for
his country, for himself. Uh and medled or if you

(35:30):
make it known before the race and this becomes part
of the coverage, it's that polarizing that it probably takes
away from the event itself, as opposed to here he
is trying to meddle one more time because in the aftermath, right,
it's the old ask forgiveness versus permission kind of thing.
So he ran, You got the wheelchair, you got the mask,

(35:52):
you got all of this stuff. And he's immediately doing interviews.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
At the top over dramatic. We came in third.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
Here's a wheel chair and now here's a mask right away,
But you're still walking over doing an interview. You're still
talking to you. You're fine, you know, Let's make sure.
Let let's make sure we show you that he was
struggling because he's got a wheelchair.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
I'm like, really, a wheelchair? Really?

Speaker 1 (36:13):
I guess it always comes back to what we say.
For every event you and I have covered in the
decade together. Remember it's a TV show. It was it
was so about pulling the drama to a higher level.
It was so odd that that that's how, that's how
it went out, and it was and it takes away
from the moment. It takes away from the accomplishment, and

(36:33):
it makes you go, hmm, just what is the wonder?
What is the COVID po or other people test positive
for COVID in their play Like not like we're at
a point where we should be stopping things, but just hey,
just so you know, right, I mean, just.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Life.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
If you go over somebody's house to watch a football game, Oh, hey,
I want to let you know that somebody's got COVID
in the house.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Oh oh maybe you don't want to come, They'll be upstairs.
Whatever it is.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, I mean you walk away feeling, oh, I come
over your house to watch it. You don't tell me
that your wife had COVID or your husband's got COVID.
And we're sitting in jail and they're like, that's the thing,
Like you should at least have the respecting, the courtesy
to tell people this is what's going on. And again,
don't hug people after the race don't dap people up
after the race is over. I mean, some of the
best medical minds are there and whatever they help they

(37:18):
need and assistance to go through the testing and policies
and procedures, whatever they are, twenty four they've got them
on staff. That's I mean that, really, that's just complete
shenanigans with that story exit, How about a Fresco swollen dome?
Jason Smith, Mike Harmon coming up next. Waitill we tell
you what Jerry Jones said today Fox. Jason, you're in
