like rings on the way they're getting Yeah. Yeah rings
Uh Now, I said tysher Because believe it or not,
we are going to have a topic of conversation a
few minutes that we're gonna need his area of expertise.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
What's in the bag? I mean fork or something. It
is a wizard.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's like, it's this is gonna be like the topic
you've been waiting your whole life to talk about, Alex.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
You're kidding me, your entire life. You're finally going vegan? No, no,
come on, no, no, no, you know what I might
talk to you about that for for giggles. Do you
want to live longer? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well yes, yeah, I'm deciding. I've seen the way the
world's going out.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
It's not good. Yeah, it's not good.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I see people anytime, someone who's like one hundred and
seven years old, they go, what chicky?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
I eat chicken and rice? Every day? You eat chicken
and rice, and I smoked three pets.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
You're talking about somebody born in nineteen twenty, Jason. Okay, yeah,
the thing is not the same.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I'm saying. Obviously it works for that.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
They didn't have lab grown chicken back then. Okay, hey,
that chicken, it'll kick your ass.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It will. What I do?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Rice and chicken? What every day? For how long? The
last eighty six years? That's all I have okay, great and.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
That I had a little kognac and I had half
a cigar, and I have a glass of brandy every
day at five o'clock.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Jason, I can show you people in their seventies who
are fruit of oars that look like they're thirty?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Who are what thirty? They look like they're thirty? What
was that word you just said, fruit of orian? I
don't think that's a word.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
It is food of orian fruit, fruit of orients of orient.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I don't think that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
This stouts show you all those guys that got beaten
up by the Macaveli. You can't just eat fruit? Yes
you can, Oh you can? You just McDonald's so sure
they can. Fruit is full of sugar.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
No, it's not bad. Okay, there's a difference between bluecoast
and fruit toast good sugar.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yes, I understand. This is between having, you know, an
apple and eating ice cream.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
But you can't just have fruits again, you can't. I
promise you, no, you can't. I'll prove it too. Here
here's the deal. Here's a deal.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Are you doing the Bernadette Peters? Anything you can do,
I can do better. Bit I live in reality. Where
you yes, because think about everybody who eats grows up
and eats stuff, right. I remember watching a guy on
Channel four NBC out here. No it was I love
Mister Food.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I used to do that.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I got I got a Mister Food story for you too.
But anyway, this guy was on and he and I
just hadn't be watching the local news. It was a
Saturday morning, and they bring in you know, here's Jump
and knucklehead Billy with with advice on how to live
longer and and the guys don't get don't get hit
by this, avoid avoid the bears, avoid betting on the bears,

(03:33):
and and he's doing all this food advice and it's
and he's just rolling through stuff and he says, if
it's got more than four ingredients, don't eat it. Like
it's all these different things like, okay, I get that,
but in reality, who's gonna change their diet so radically
to be able to do that for the rest of
their lives. It's not feasible. When that guy, my wife

(03:56):
said to me, all but that's really good advice. I go,
who can do that? So that's the last time I
would have this guy on the on the air because nobody.
Everybody would go, who's gonna do that. Who's gonna say,
I'm just gonna eat all the goat's got more than
four I can't eat.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Who's gonna do that? No one can eat just fruit
for the rest of their lives.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Well, very odd person who's got a blog with a
lot of subscribers where he says, Oh, all I've been
doing is eating fruit for the last seventeen right. I mean,
that's the one rare exception. But by and large, for
everybody that's not feasible. It's not feasible for people say
I'm only gonna eat fruit. I'm only gonna eat vegetable.
I'm not gonna eat meat.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Ever. Again, I get you feasible.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
We do live in a society that has been conformed
to eat on that food pyramid.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
So I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
But if you're saying feasible, sure, but is it good
for you and better? Absolutely, it's statistically proven it increases longevity,
your cellular rate down to your chromosome level, your even
regenitive ability in your gut health.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Have you heard of micro gut? Buy him by the way, Jason.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Mikero, he just went regeneration though, he went Deadpool? Yes,
how long does it take? He just did Deadpool? That's
what he did there. I just watched it, by the way,
so regenerate.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Oh no, god, he slipped that in there to make
sure you're paying attention. So now, ty shirt, and let's
just double check what tys because he used a lot
of big words there. If you eat the right words,
you will regenerate. Sure, right, okay, all right, very good. Okay,
that's space promise. Yeah, eat the right things and you'll regenerate.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
All right.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Okay, good. The gut gut health is obviously a very
it's huge. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Are you how long it takes me to click on
that thing on the internet that says top gut doctor says,
avoid this vegetable at all costs. You know what, after
this conversation, it's gonna show up in your time. You
went down a bleeping rabbit hole. He can't five try
to find that. What does the top gut doctor say?
What vegetable to not eat? So I can say, here's
my excuse to not e Wait, tyser might know I do.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
What is it? Is it something common or is it
like what.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
As in like how to heal your guts. No, no, no,
this is the one to avoid. Avoid the top us.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
The worst thing is anything that's acidic. And I know
you're gonna hate this, Jason. It's soda.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
That's no, it's it's it's not a fruit.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
No, no, he said it was a fruit.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
It was a fruit.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
There was a fruit to avoid. Yes, that's that's insane.
Was it the honeydew melon?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
No? If anything, haud be like a hybrid fruits. So
maybe like raspberries or cranberries, some likeruit half raspberry, half
minute taur.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, half man, half amazing, Jason, I promise you, if
you did a month of just fruits, you would never
go back.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I promise you. How long do you think would be
before I'd want to have a hamburger? About it? Dry? Sorry, cheeseburger?

Speaker 6 (06:30):
Now?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
How many days would it take to get past in
that and that? Yeah? No, exactly, pasta and cheese.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
To be honest, it'd probably take him a long time
for the detox twenty eight days.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
What if I judged Killy and Murphy, then what if
I just ate cheese? What if I just ate cheese?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I don't recommend that either.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
All Right, this goes back to that gut hell think
he was talking about.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Cheese unless you do what raw cheese? You're just making
up words. Now there's really raw cheese. Oh, raw chiese raw?
I think you said Rachie's Like, what's Rachie's raw cheese?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Raw cheese?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Just like it's unpasteurized? Oh I could I could go
for something like expensive. That's all right, So you are
telling the truth. To eat this certain way, you do
need money. Yeah, do you know how you said like
less is more? That's why Arawon has lesses more, but
they charge you like it too.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
See this is.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Why the best the best food show would be you
and I together. I would love it on a show
it would be Oh I like Jason, No I like Tyshert.
No I like Tyschert. No I like Jason nicely. Jason's
much better looking and smarter. But Tycher does make some
points and he knows more stuff about computers.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
So you have a point that would be a good show.
You do have a point that we would we would
cover everything everything.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Now again, there is a story coming up in a
few minutes that will need your absolute expertise. All right,
let's go trust me, we're gonna need it. But you know,
we talked about this a few minutes ago. Uh, it
just gets out. Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the Chargers,
says that, hey, he called Colin Kaepernick about coming back
to the team a few months ago, but as a coach,
and now, you know whatever, a quarterback gets hurt, it's

(07:59):
only a matter of time off for Colin Kaepernick trends
and you see, oh, there's Kaepernick trending because JJ McCarthy
got hurt and all this stuff, black balls from the
league and all these different things. This gets past the hey,
it's over part. Okay, it's over for Cally, it's been
it's been a decade, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
The guy's not coming back to.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Sixteen. Yeah, I mean, it's not happening. For right, everybody
knows it's not happening. But here's the thing is that
he is already, through intermediaries whoever it is, said no,
he wants to focus on getting back to the NFL.
And the reason he says this is because this is
his identity. Now you can forget about the fact that

(08:37):
how much was he black balled, what did he get
to to go away from his lawsuit? Against the NFL.
It wasn't a hundred million dollars. It was a lot
less than that. So much have no discovery. Yeah, forget
about that for a second. His identity is the NFL
player they wouldn't let back in the league. So as
long as he's still projecting that, I'm still trying to

(08:59):
get back and I'm still training every day. Dude, you
had a chance two years ago. The NFL set up
a day for you to throw, for everybody to come.
Look at you had every single team and don't you
here and sit here. Tell me all we need is
one team to break down.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
No.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
He I guarantee you if someone called him with a
contract offer tomorrow, he would find a way to say no, right,
because this is his identity. Now he's the quarterback they
wouldn't let play, and now they let him play again.
That's against what he is and who he is because
they had a chance. Look, you can talk about how
Roger Goodell at what were his motivators setting up, But
they set up a throwing session and all the NFL

(09:33):
teams were going there to see Colin Kaepernick throw. And
what did Colin Kaepernick decide? No, I don't want to
do it here. I want to do it in a
different location. The talk was that he wanted to shoot
a Nike commercial at the location. So if you want
to come, you got to drive two hundred miles here
and I'm going.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
To do my throwing here. Like, do you really want
to get back in the league? Can you believe that's
almost five years ago? That should have been the end.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
No, it's fine. I thought there was like two twenty fifteen,
like that should have been the end where people understood
it's over for Colin Katy. He doesn't want to come
back because if he really wanted to play, Hey, it's
a it's a showcase. NFL is sending people here. This
is how I show everybody I really want to play. This.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
This is it.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
This is they are telling you.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
This is how you whatever motivations you think Roger Goodell
or anybody else had, you just need the teams there
and hey, and the NFL is saying it's okay if
you want to go high, it's okay, don't worry about anything.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Doth it's okay if you want to go get him again.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
The stuff before was before you're talking about him getting
back in the league and why he's not going to
be a coach, and why he's still saying he wants
to get back to the NFL even though it's been
eight nine years away. He could have gone to play
in the XFL. He could have gone play in the
in Canada, he could have gone to a lot of
place show.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
He could still do it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
He could have done it, but his identity is the
player they wouldn't let play. So the minute he loses that,
he loses a lot. And so this is going to continue.
He's going to be forty five years old saying still
wait and waiting for that phone call. You had the
chance now five years ago, if you really wanted to play,
this was it. This is all the teams were there
to watch you, and you still said, no, I'm not

(11:03):
working out here. I'm going Because he didn't want to
do it and he wanted to find a way to
not have it happen. So I'm sorry, I don't have
a lot of thought of Oh Kaepernick, because he had
a chance. Whatever was done to him before that was
now getting back late. Let's get him back in. Let's right,
the wrong right, Let's let's do it. Let's get him
back in. Let's let him be somebody who's a big
voice and all kinds of things. He had a chance,
and this is just what this is, just who.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
He is now.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
He's the guy the NFL wouldn't let back in the league,
and that once you lose that, he loses his identity
of who he is.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I still want to know USA today, when it was
at training camp and this came.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Up, why was it just something they offered?

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Hey, talk about this because all it does is it
takes stuff away from the what's going on at Michigan.
So now we talk about this for a minute.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Hey, Jim, I want to ask you about the penalties
at Michigan. Hey, dude asked me about Kaepernick. What asked
about Kaepernick? Okay, well I'll answer that in a second.
But we got a question from right here, Kevin Acey
of Sandygo Tribute. Kevin, what do you got, hey, coach
Collin Kaepernick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know I called him
to come in and be a coach here a few
months ago, waiting to hear back and didn't hear about

(12:07):
Oh really.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
See I got everybody off that Michigan question. That's fine.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, So Kaepernick, we're still training, still pushing he was
on Sky Sports. Quote so hopefully we'll get one of
those team owners to open up. He told Sky Sports.
Also he would quote love he would love to represent
the United States and flag football at twenty twenty eight Olympics,
et et cetera. We talked about the settlement, We talked
about the narratives and how much run people got as

(12:35):
mouthpieces during that time against the NFL and back and
forth and everything that went through. And obviously he's done
a lot of good for communities we haven't heard. It's
like operating quietly, at least to the larger doesn't have
the spotlight that he had once upon a time. But

(12:55):
maybe this puts some of that back onto some of
the works the last few years.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
But from a.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Football perspective, you got folks just finishing college that and
this says nothing about what the situation was for quarterbacks
in twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen, even going to twenty eighteen,
if you really want to go that far. We're in
twenty twenty four and you got guys that are finishing
their college eligibility that can't get a sniff except for
one or two snaps at the end of a meaningless

(13:22):
week one or week two preseason game. Suddenly eight years later,
best shape of his life. He's going to come in
and set the world on fire. Hey, maybe one team
wants to give him a shot, but at this point
it becomes the coaching ranks and all those alternate leagues
if you want to go down that road. But yeah,
this was one that I didn't see coming out of

(13:44):
the storylines.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
In the middle of training.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Intead coach cap, coach cap, coach Cap, Hey, coach Cap,
coach Cap, get back in as a coach. You know
what's over, you know you're not playing right, Get back
in as a coach. No, no, no, no no. I
mean he loses his identity. That's what he is, and
he loses that. If it goes he's going to continue
to be this And like I said, until he's fifty
years old, it's going to be that till you're ninety,
till your nine ninety exit out about of Fresca exit

(14:11):
swollen down The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon live
from the tirec dot Com Studios coming up next. Yes,
it's that topic that Alex Tischert's been waiting his entire career.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
To talk about.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
And it's something. When I saw it today, I could
not believe it was real.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
But it's a.

Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with mom My
best friend Mike Harmon Live, the tyrack dot Com Studios.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
That'll never get old No no, no, no no.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Albert Poohols maybe retired for thirty years, I don't never
get oovered.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Who bluff. Uh.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
If you're like me, you saw this story today, you said, no,
there's no way this is real.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
There's no way this is real. But it is, uh
maybe long overdue. I mean I don't know.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
I can't really say that there was the decision or
the film. Uh well, well okay, I always look when
movies are announced in Hollywood and I go. I didn't
know there was such a big market for people to
want to see this movie.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
You're gett demand and doing your polling to decide. I
mean this becomes one of those is there just someone
driving the project that's in charge of the first strings?

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Right?

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Like what's a good example.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I like when when Charlie Huntum was going to be
King Arthur and I was like, oh, Charlie Hunham, Charlie
Hutting something that, like, is there a real crying out
for Hey, I really want to see a King Arthur movie.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I really want to see it.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Well, I mean maybe some executive went to medieval times
and he got a little bit excited.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
And the way it went, Hey, Charlie, why just coming
be King Arthur? Instead of killing people on your motorcycle,
you can kill people with the sword. He was drinking
the version of meat and whatever chicken dish they served
you that night, And the way he went, you could
you could be the sons of Lancelot, and you just
instead of motorcycles, it's horses. I see the whole thing, right,

(17:33):
It's you and chips and you're riding around and Hunter
is a bad guy.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
And then and then you got the.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Niners are showing up, and then you got the oh yeah,
the maans, Oh it's great, except again it's horses instead
of motorcycles.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
What do you say when you come Wait, let's do
the movie.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
He there is apparently, and there was a big push
to do a biopic in Hollywood about the life of
On Madden.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Oh he's an interesting individual. No, man who's responsible for
billions of dollars of entertainment and ours spence wasted.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Yes, and most people are figuring right now the video
game guy. Yes, the video game guy.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Uh. The film is going to be directed by David o' russell.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Okay, it was long time one of the biggest most
famous directors in Hollywood that people can't stand, biggest most
famous directors in Holley.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I've seen a positive review of the Man.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
No, just look, just look at David o' russell, Christian Bale.
Just just do that little search on the internet. So
David o' russell is a big deal. It's not like, Hey,
here's m Night shall Amelan's daughter is doing it because
he's able to finance the movie. Now, if it's John
Madden the musical, Man Madden the Musical, Where'd that truck

(18:47):
come From?

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Where'd that truck come from? That was a heck of
a play for it. Heck of a play, heck of
a play, so murder the hero.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
The lead actor playing John Madden has been announced John Goodman.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
According to David O.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Russell quote John Stamos, one of our greatest and most
original actors, will portray the best of the American spirit
of originality, fun, and determination in which anything is possible.
Has beloved national legend John Madden, together with the ferocious style,
focus and inspired individualism of Al Davis, owner of the

(19:28):
underdog Oakland Raiders. The feature will be about the joy, humanity,
and genius that was John Madden in a wildly inventive,
cool world of the nineteen seven I dig this. So
this is not about Hey, the guy that mad me
the video games is sit around and counting money when
it comes in. No, hey, hey, hey, hey, I got

(19:49):
stats today.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
He still looks the same as he did in the seventies.
You can just ad him right in.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
So it's going to be about the fun, freewheeling seventies
Oakland Raiders. Okay, there's a lot of de in those waters,
but yeah, that'd be fun. Play well, nothing more dangerous
than playing the lead role of John Madden. Let's go
not John Stamos, not Tim Tebow playing the lead role,

(20:15):
and I'm not wanting to say the name, and you're
gonna go, Okay, give me the real name.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
No, the next name.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I say, is the real name playing John Madden is
Nicholas Cage Alex.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Now, this is set in the seventies, so it's a
little earlier than Purple Alex tishert analysis.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
First off, I would say he is probably the most
prominent figure I would look to to be a Madden.
He definitely does have that persona. And what's funny is
back in ghost Rider, I did get remnants vibes of
somebody who, if they weren't riding a motorcycle with a
flaming head, could have started a video game company.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Okay, but this is back when he was a coach. Yeah, hey,
heck of a play boom Win.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Tough acting to acting. Hey hey I'm John Madden. No,
I don't see it. I think not see this at all.
I really, I don't see this at all. I really,
I bet you half the people I mean people listening
to me know that I'm telling the truth about this now.
But again, people saw it online this weekend are gonna
be saying did you see that bit? I didn't even
know whether it was real or Notough, Nicholas Cage is gonna.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Play John Madden. Oh no, no, that's real. Oh that's real.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Yeah, I bet barbecues this weekend parties, card parties, whatever.
In fact, I'm going to a card party this weekend.
We got a big card I guarantee you. That's gonna be.
The thing people ask me the most is wait, is
that real? It's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Really. First off, what's a card part? It's gonna be well,
playing cards? We're playing? Oh, Dave, I thought you were
going to like a trading card show. And Jason, I will.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
Say, though, after that vampire movie he just did, I
am a little worried about this, Okay, why is that? Well,
first off, he destroyed the movie. He was not a
good vampire by any means necessary. And the biggest thing
that stands out to me he definitely does not know
how to throw a football. So how can you teach
people how to well?

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Well, okay, okay, well okay, Well the coach doesn't come
in and teach people.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
I want to know I'm led by somebody who can
do it. I know, I know you do, but that's
not that's not the job of the head coach.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Wait Tom, Wait, wait wait wait, Tom Brady didn't come
to the NFL and Bill Belichick taught him how to
throw a football? Why was you just talking about football?
For me, it was just a larger wait. Does do
all bosses at all? I wish Tom Tom theory? Tom,
you want to put your hands on the laces part
of the ball, right, okay, Then you kind of bring
the ball behind your ear and though, okay, thumb comes

(22:32):
down at the end and hands on the laces.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Tom, Tom, Tom, you're in the sixth round. We gotta
we gotta figure something out.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
I will say though this this is time's out with
one of the streaming services. I'm not sure which we
subscribe to. The kids have their their shows that are
on each thing, so, you know, fighting between them. But
at some point there was a large number of Nicholas
Cage movies added to where it was actually titled as
the Nicholas Cage Collection, like because the girls were like,

(23:00):
what the hell, why are they feeding me all these
Nicholas Cage movies and they weren't any of the ones
you would have expected or wanted.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
To see necessarily, Like, Okay, first of all, you're gonna
have to. I mean, John Madden wasn't incredible you think
of him, he's this heavy guy. He wasn't incredibly heavy
back in the seventies. But Nicholas Cage is gonna have
to put on some weight.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
To buy.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Remember when he was in oh one of his Kiss
of Death as little Junior, okay, and he was all
bulked up, okay, and that was more muscle. But I mean,
he should like to put the weight on.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
But the thing is, Nicholas Cage is a caricature of himself.
So how are you gonna put him in anything? And
if people think, oh, this is gonna be a good movie,
you're gonna think, oh, this is just some kind of
crazy can't be as thing that if I can't get
into the movie I really want to see because it's
sold out, I'll go see that instead.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
He has severals how do you think that?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
I want to be a fly on the wall, and
that in that meeting with all the big heavyweights, all
the production come that David o' rossverybody saying, yes, Nicholas
Cage is our guy, trust me, he's a how' iss
Nicholas Cage a guy? Hey, Kenny Stabler. How about the
Holy Roller. How about we have a play where you
kind of fumble the ball forward and just kind of
go after it. Just I just kind of, oh, what's
your good? I'm getting into Owen Wilson territory. Now, how

(24:21):
are you? I mean, really you want to be able
to have a movie. I want to go see that
movie because I think it's good you have. You have
Nicholas Cage in a John mad movie. People are gonna go, oh,
you know when it shows up on cable, I'll watch
ten minutes of it so I can laugh.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
That's what that I'm into. That's the reaction to it.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Me and my mini bottles will be good to go.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
That's gonna be the reaction.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
So here's the here's the question I had though, how
did they not figure out and why did he not
figure out how to make ghost Rider part of the
Deadpool and Wolverine movie? And then Blake Lively gives off
the fact that halle Berry said, I never got asked
that Ryan Reynolds never reached out to you have her
back as Storm and she was more than willing to

(25:02):
do it.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
What are you doing to me? Who do we have
in the cameos. Well, we got Chris Evans, we got Elektra,
We're gonna have uh Blade, Paul Mullen is gonna be
in a Superstar ball where Paul We're gonna have Blade
is gonna be in it?

Speaker 2 (25:14):
What about what about Nicolas Cage? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's
not get too far. Okay, let's not let me.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Gambit hang on, tell me you wouldn't pay down money
to watch that whole movie and try to interpret what
the hell Channing Tatum saying.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Let's let's not go crazy. Let's not go crazy about
about we.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Can add the ghost Rider and Storm in there, you
be sure, but but no, but but you don't stay
on this because I just I just keep looking at
and I'm never gonna get past the fact that I'm
watching Nicholas Cage playing somebody. That's why like Austin Butler
is Elvis, like that works because if you have somebody
that's so well known sure playing somebody else, there's that

(25:50):
disconnect you're always gonna get right. And and you could
say you could have the best performance in the world,
and the critics will say, oh, the so and so
transform themselves. But no, I feel like I'm watching somebody
play somebody.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I just think it's Houston.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Butler was unknown. Now you can never see him not
as Elvis no matter what he does. But he got
nominated for Best Actor. The movie was nominated. Like you
need somebody like that. I'm just gonna watch Nick Cage go.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
I got the hair.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
You know, you know this is what's going on now,
and I'm just worried about what's gonna happen. Am I
gonna get to do other movies? This is my last one?
Like that's gonna It just takes you right out of everything.
I can't believe this was agreed upon. I sat and
tried to take it into the Austin Butler thing. I
tried to sit down and watch a couple of minutes
of bike Riders. Couldn't do. It took me right out

(26:34):
because I kept expecting and just keep talking like Elvis.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
So it didn't work. But for Nick Cage, to your point,
he has legitimately and literally done several movies that are
questioning his own existence, yes, and make kind of making
fun of where he is in his state of his
life is a caricature of himself. So if you're trying
to make a serious movie.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Now, if I'm making a movie, the ty shirt likes like, Hey,
here's were where where Nicholas Cage is playing a version
of himself on another earth where he's a vampire, but
on another version of Earth he's also a mini spider Man,
and another version he's he's an alien, and another version
is a werewolf.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Don't forget the one where he search for treasure too.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yeah, and they all meet and they search for treasure
because they're all amphibious, they can swim underwater.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Okay, that's ancause that's the thing they need to green light.
What's that?

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Get him and Harvey Gui Tell and all those guys
and do more National Treasures.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
I loved that movie, Like that's a Nicholas Cage movie,
Like that's what he's playing for.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
That one with the planes. Do you remember like numbers
con Air? No, No, it was like predicting the future.
There's like some kind of numerology.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, any anything that's really out there
that most other actors in Hollywood would say, Yeah, I'm
not gonna touch that.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Call Nick Cage. Well, I mean, if it's a pagecheck,
you wouldn't take it. He'll do it, not no, I
mean like actors that have choices. I mean, I don't
mean people that don't have the choices, I mean actors.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Does he really? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (27:56):
He has done like fifteen movies since twenty two.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I just think this is Oh, hey, you have a
lot of actors want to do Madden. Who's a director,
David O. Russell? Oh yeah, forget it?

Speaker 1 (28:06):
No, no, no, yeah, I mean because my guy's not His
gig was pretty good. My guy's not doing it. Nope,
not doing it, not doing it. And he was in
both the crew the Crudes movies.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
That was good.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
I really I want it to be good. I want
it to be something fun. I want it to be
But I see I went, I mean, really, how was
this agreed upon? How do studio heads who lose their
jobs when movies like this do bet? Yes, he is
our guy. He is our John Madden, Nicholas Kate, he's
the guy at top of the list. Nicholas Cage. No,
come on, really, I mean I'm not the point where

(28:39):
you say, okay, Frank Caliendo could do it unless you're
making it over the top, crazy ass comedy, then it
would be pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
But even that, I think that jumped the proverb decade.
It wouldn't. But wouldn't that be funny though?

Speaker 1 (28:51):
If it was a comedic version of The Raiders in
the seventies and and that was well, I.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Mean, that'd be pretty cool. I think that there's a
lot of stories, I'm sure, but I.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Mean this is this is one of those cases of Oh,
and we're gonna shoot this movie and we're gonna.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Spend money on it. I want to know what the
budget is and where I can send my money for
my advanced ticket. I want to go to the premiere.
You might be the only one. I want to go
to the red carpet. That's what I'm working.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Think there would be a red carpet for this thing.
They can trust Nicholas Cage red carpets for everything. Can't
trust Nicholas Cage on the red carpet. You have no
idea what he's gonna say.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Good. You have no idea that's good.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
For the movie, because then people will be talking about it.
How good was the movie?

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Oh? The movie was terrible? But you only said in
the red carpet. He actually tuk We got him, We
got him going. Yeah, he talked to Maria Minunos and
you know what he said about what's coming.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
I really I fail to see this, I really do.
This is gonna be so great. So it's not it's
gonna be awful.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Well, but we haven't even figured out who the rest
of the cast is. I don't think you're pissed off
about Nicholas Cage. Where do you see what they round
this out with?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Oh, they'll put guys in mustaches. And because everybody had
a mustache and they said, hey, do you have a mustache? Yeah,
come to the open car you could.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Can you grow on mustache? You know what?

Speaker 3 (30:02):
No, it doesn't matter. Yeah, that's as we've got a
whole hair and makeup department. Doesn't that'll make you? Uh
hear suit? Hey, and really channel the seventies? Can you
fumble the football forward?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah? You're Dave Casper. Go ahead, good, congratulations, there you go.
All right, very nice. This will be great.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
It's gonna good. We're gonna go to a midnight viewing
of it. It's gonna be so awesome, and we're just
gonna keep yelling Rain.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
It's not it's come on. We're all gonna go to
the what is It?

Speaker 3 (30:32):
The the Raiders Store, the what is it the Raider
image or whatever it is, a universal city walk. We're
gonna buy a bunch of Raider stuff and we're gonna
take over the theater.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
It's gonna be glorious rain.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Okay, note to self, I'm not gonna go see a
movie with a bunch of Raider fans. Why what do
you mean, Walt, that'll be the greatest ignur all on
the same side.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Okay, are you sure for this one?

Speaker 1 (30:57):
You sure they're gonna Raider fans would yell ut the
screen plays from forty years ago?

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Why the hell them Stateles throw deep on that. What
the hell Madden you suck it?

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Darth Raider would come out and there would be fights.
They're gonna fight over stuff that happened forty years ago.
Come on, man, they're gonna have to redo this movie
to make it look like the Raiders won every Super
Bowl in the seventies.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
This is gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
What happened here in the immaculate reception? Boy, it bounces
off Tatum's shoulder and it falls to the ground. The
Raiders win, and then you might lean forward because you're
you're excited to see how they filmed it and recreated it.
And that scene as an act of disrespect and all
of a sudden you're getting your ass kicked.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Oh we got a stealer fan in here.

Speaker 6 (31:38):
Jerk.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Oh boy, exit out about a Fresco exit swollen down
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live from the
Tyrech dot Com Studios, Nick Cagjo time not to find
out what's trending from the guy who was the runner
up for the role of John Madden, Steve Desager negative Ghoaschrider.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
You know whoever played Jimmy Hendrix recently? Where the throg
can be Jack Tatum? Will you just go on down
the list for the cast of this seventies Raider. I
want to see Nick Cage, Kid Cutt. He could play
frank O Harris in the Reception. I want to see
Nicholas Cage in the Superman costume on an NFL So yeah,
but actually, you know, Nicholas Cage can be kind of creepy,

(32:14):
as we know in movies. Yeah, let's work that line
in somewhere.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
What are we doing? You know you've got it.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
You referenced the Holy Roller play that the Raiders went
on in that one seventies game at San Diego. They've
got to use the Bill King call of it. And
just imagine Nicholas Cage as the coach on the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Madden is on the field. He wants to know if
it's real.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
They said, yes, get your big butt out of here.
He does, have you not that big hair? And Macon,
I just want to know it's an NFL fan. Are
Nicholas Cage's Raiders going to be playing Kevin James's Broncos.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Let's go maybe on truth? No, no, no, no, no,
Kevin j No, he wore the Jets.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Maybe after some Savannah Bananas game.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
He wore the Jets jersey all threw out the King
of Queens. Oh, he'd be the Jets coach.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
It's just wow. It's a good that it takes a
long time to make a movie. We will just forget
the furor over this by the time it actually comes.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Just you forgot the uh the Sean Payton movie. That was, yes, exactly,
that's whatencing. It's gonna be a while till that comes out.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Also, like the Sean Payton movie, I thought it was funny.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
It looked like Kevin James with a headset.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Yeah, it was fun This.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Is gonna look like Nicholas Cage on a sideline with
a headset perfectly the same. Sure, we had an NFL
exhibition tonight at New England. Can you tell it wasn't
worth talking about? Eagles win fourteen to thirteen with a
late touchdown and two point pass. No NFL games tomorrow.
Quarterback Russell Wilson will be making his Steelers pre season

(33:53):
debut Saturday night against the Bills. The teams held a
joint practice today. Buffalo linebacker Matt Mulana will miss at
least few months with the torn biceps he was heard
on Tuesday. Saints running back Alvin Kamara is still out
with back tightness. Atlanta Science free agent safety Justin Simmons.
Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence will not play Sunday after getting
time in the joint practice against the Bucks this week.

(34:15):
Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield will not play. The NBA
champion Celtics will open against the Nicks October twenty second,
and the Lakers host Minnesota that night. In Major League Baseball,
Minnesota was a winner with a sack fly top of
the nine three to two at Texas Baltimore five to
one over Boston. The Orioles tied with the Yankees for
first in the Al East. Wins for Philadelphia and Milwaukee,

(34:38):
although Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich will have season ending back
surgery tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Back to you, Thank you very much, Steve O.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmen
live Thetirack dot Com Studios. Coming up next, will break
down the biggest takeaway from tonight's NFL preseason game between
the Pages and the Eagles. Keep it right here because
it's a big one. It's next Jason and Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Couldn't even wait for it to breathe No, no, we'p
But think about all the things Nick Cage is given
to culture. Yeah, and now he's going to give us
John Madden.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yes he is.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
We should call our friend Amy Trass see what she
thinks of this.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
You know, I actually looked like issue.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
But she graduated college in eighty two, so she's probably
not going to be in the movie.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
No, but obviously, just her relationship with the Raiders orgization.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Yeah, yeah, what do you think of this? Yeah? Sure, well,
how do you think this works?

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Okay, not a bad idea. She's worried with the Big
three on three championship, but I think it might be.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
We'll work out.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah, we'll get on that plenty of time. The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live from the TIREC dot
Com Studios.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Tonight, we had a preseason game in the NFL. We did.
We did.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
Watch the Eagles hold off the New England Patriots fourteen thirteen.
Backups play well at the end for the Eagles, they
get a touchdown two point conversion with a couple of
minutes left, Joe Milton cannot get the Patriots downfield and
the Eagles win at fourteen to thirteen. Joe Milton couldn't
feel the pocket collapsing. Yeah, not quite the game Joe

(36:24):
Milton had this week. Then he had a week ago.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Get great pass rush, great work by the defensive line
that was out there for the Eagles, But the point being,
he didn't feel anything, didn't feel pressure, didn't step up,
and just crumbled under the weight.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Now, watching the Patriots play tonight. There is something I
need to say about them. They need to be placed
in a category of teams that only have one thing
wrong with them.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
One thing, one thing. That's it.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
I got five teams in this category for this year
in the NFL. Five teams that only have one thing wrong.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I'm gonna guess we really can enumerate it to a
lot more, but you're gonna boil it down to one thing. Yeah, yeah,
because it all funnels into one general top.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Yeah. No, no, there's only way.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
There's four other teams, but the Patriots there maybe they're
in pole position for what I'm going to say. Okay,
but there's only one just like Russell Wilson is has
the poll. Yes, yeah, there's only one thing wrong with
the Patriots. One thing, one thing, and that's the category
teams is one thing wrong with them.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Okay, let's go what is it? They stink?

Speaker 3 (37:28):
They I think that's a fair assessment from what you've
seen and what you knew coming in.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Really, they're meeting expectations.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Yeah, so it's like the United States men's basketball team
winning the gold medal.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
They met expectations. Patriots are doing the same thing.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Can you really say you're meeting expectations or you're living
down to them. We expected them to stink, you know,
but meeting them means like, hey, there's some kind of
forward momentum.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
I'm meeting you. See I'm meeting What if I'm already
your hair and you come to me. Yeah, well we're meeting.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
So we're at a basement level and you came down
to see how bad things were, say.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Hey, we're flooding down here.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
We might have a wa pipe buster or something, or
the rain's just coming in too much.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
We got a leak. If you come down to see
my level, which is below level.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Four, you know, here's here's how bad the Patriots are.
Two years ago, for Christmas vacation, we went and we
know we do a state every year. We go see
a new state. Yeah, or you go back to Michigan. Right,
we had to New Mexico. I went to the Carl's
Bad Cab. I remember that.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
We had to get an elevator that went down one
hundred levels. How did that make you feel? Not great, Bob?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Not great? Where did you start losing?

Speaker 1 (38:41):
No, When you get out of the elevator and it's
a big area, it's like, okay, I feel Okay, I'm like,
all right, let me see how it is.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
And then you looked up and you saw the elevator
shaft and it kind of freaks out.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
Uh that's about how far down the Patriots are. Okay
they wait, wait, you're going full brand, kid, and then listen.
They they should be the team of all the bad teams,
the other teams that are in this other the other
four teams will get to coming up in a few minutes. Uh,
they're in pole position. They should be the team selecting

(39:14):
first overall in the draft next year because they are
absolutely terrible. Right, Not that you want to take a
preseason game, but just for an example, just a slice
of life here, they played all four of their quarterbacks
to night. Drake May played, Jacoby Brissett played, Bailey Zappi played,
Joe Milton played, Steve Grogan played, Tony Easton played, and
they threw for ninety yards. Okay, you threw for ninety

(39:36):
yards against a bunch of cups combined, not each guy
through for ninety. You threw for ninety yards.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
As a team.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
There's nobody you're scared of on this team. Ramondre Stevenson
is a nice running back. To Mario Douglas is a
pretty nice wide receiver. Maybe Jalen polk Is is going
to be a good receiver. He had a couple of
nice moves by You talk about boring, you talk about
the guys that could get getting traded.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Yeah, but overall, this is a team that's starting over.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Look when you trade one of your best players right
before the season started, trading Matthew Judah, Yeah, you're gonna
trading me thirty two years old. You're not anywhere. But
this tells you we've given up. We are completely starting over.
You have a rookie head coach. You don't know who
your quarterback is gonna be. Jacoby Brissett's been no good. Really,
you're not gonna start him, so you'll start Drake May
who's not gonna be any good for a while.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
This is a team that should be picking first overall
in the draft. Next of all the bad teams, they
should be picking first overall.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Over under on wins is set at four and a
half all under under completely.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
I thought it seemed a little bit aggressive and generous. Well,
they's probably saying they play the Jets twice. Jets can't
get out of their own way, it's a new world
with the Jets, not like they're in the NFC East
with the Giants.

Speaker 1 (40:45):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
