(00:29):
Welcome inside. What may wind up being? I should say,
cautiously optimistic? Oh, this can be a good Wednesday night.
The Mets down four nothing to the Diamondbacks. Things not
looking good. I messaged Carlos Mendoza on Twitter. Hey, non
Severarino's night. Let's go to somebody else. Nope, can let
(00:51):
him give up more runs. But the Mets have just
tied it at four a piece as they bat in
the top of the fifth inningside, cautiously optimistic. It can
be a good night. Not greater you fifth in incautiously optimistic.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Because right now I am efforting the sound. I just
sent the highlight to Shay to show you my twenty
twenty four season in a nutshell?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Is the is it the wide shot of about maybe
one hundred and fifty fans at the first White Sox
game today, because dude, that was embarrassing. I know how
bad you are, but wow, I mean really that was
Like I read there were about one hundred and fifty
fans at that first game.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, first game ever suspended without an out being recorded.
So baseball history, what's the old? Who was Jason Stark?
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Right? You see something new each and everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
So you got that, sure, and then you saw, you know,
an exercise in great contrast if you ever want to
explain the word contrast to your child, the enthusiasm and
excitement for the suspended game makeup of the White Sox
and Rangers.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, or people getting.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Ready to shore of another person for a plastic piece
of sho Hao Tani and his Dog decoy memorabilia.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, So you got those two things to show the
wide berth that we have here. But no, no, no,
there were two things in the White Sox.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Uh. Well, two losses today.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
One where clearly nobody's paying attention gets thrown back up
the middle, uh, and it hits the infielder in the
nose as he's standing on second base. And then what
could have been would have been a game winning home
run was brought back by the left fielder. So yes,
you've got to be kid me. You may have a
(02:41):
glorious day. And I hope for you one of us
has to win, has to win. I hope we have
the sound shaw all right, So listen to this one too.
That's in the left field. That's trouble jay Kowski.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Goodness what I grab those one hundred and fifty people
got loud? Yeah they did.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Rad there's radio network on the call, yeah, or a
television network. I mean that, come on, I mean that's
that sums it all up right there.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Finally, No, no, no, no, you're gonna lose two more games,
two more losses for the White Sox. Thanks for coming,
spending your time and money and braving the elements to
be out here at the Cell.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
But are a guaranteed rate field.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
They are thirty one and one oh three. You still
need eleven weekends, you need.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Eleven You know what, I don't want them at this point.
You want to give you the you want to give
me the wins. I don't want them. I don't want
I don't want to I don't want them at this point.
You know what?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
It got me to the Bears. I'm stealing a page
from your book. Well your book you've been writing with
me for a decade here at Fox Sports Radio. I
am now stealing that first page and gluing it into
my own book. It got me to the Bears, Western football,
and you know, you get.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Us coming up after this series against the Diamondbacks, which
you'll probably sweep the Mets because you know that's how
the Mets roll.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Well that's kind of how that would work for you.
But yes, it is a glorious night here. I mean,
we're just so close to football.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Yeah you can.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
We've got baseball tonight, a bunch of soccer all over
the globe. We've got the the WNBA that you and
I were had our rapt attention earlier.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Tonight.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
It's all great and in eight days, everybody's drafts will
be done. Good luck with your fantasy drafts. Go subscribe
to the I Watch Flex podcast. Listen to what Jason
and I advise you to do each and every week
here on the show. But we've made it. We're all together,
and this is my great, big hug to all of
you around the globe.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I'm gonna give you a big bowl prediction a second bullprint.
We talked about the bull prediction, the four biggest stories
we're going to talk about every week this year in
the NFL.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
But I got a bigger one for you.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
After media, after seeing I shouldn't say media reports, after
media behavior of the last thirty six hours, I will
I will say, I will boldly predict within ten days,
within ten days, Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift are engaged. Whoa,
(05:23):
within ten days, It's gonna happen. Okay, Now, first, let
me let me tell you about It's just about following crumbs, right, love,
This is following crumbs, right.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
So you had the big story a day ago.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
The Kelsey Brothers podcast is going to be a three year,
one hundred million dollar endeavor now for them, Okay, I
can I know somehow doesn't have to make sense for
them somehow, Swift Show night, that's a lot of money
to put into a podcast where you have kind of
overnight success with guys. How's that gonna age over the
(05:57):
course of the next couple of years? And age is
a lot better if you know that. Well, Travis Kelsey
is going to be married to Taylor's engaged and married
to Taylor Swift. Over the course of that three years,
Suddenly Travis Kelsey's popularity ain't going anywhay, is it.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
I'm structured like an NFL deal where he gets a
lot of the money up front.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
If you break everything after a year, it's.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Done because nobody cares about him or his brother anymore.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Hey, I'm Jason Kelsey. I'm now joined by Nick Sirianni. Nick,
come on and after getting fired, Hey, you're my new
co host. Thanks for coming in.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Nick.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
You a great job, great job with the team. Thanks
for calling all those crazy ass push touches that.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
I don't like.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
And you know what, never mind, you're you're my co
host now. So that's the thing, right, That's a small thing,
right the trap the Kelsey Brothers podcast is a big deal,
But it's a lot of money, you know, thirty million
dollars a year in a podcast. If you don't like
If Travis Kelcey isn't with Taylor Swift, is he still popular?
Is the Kelsey Brothers podcast still such a big deal?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Right? Because now Jason Kelsey's not playing anymore. It's a risk.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
It is not a risk if Travis Kelsey's going to
be with Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
All right, so that's the first part.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
But then Adam Schefter really let the cat out of
the back without letting the cat out of the back.
On ESPN, they're joking around on TV yesterday and Adam
Schefter was asked about Travis Kelsey and he's kind of
joking around and they were asking what he was doing here,
and Travis Kels's gonna do this? He was I know
he wasn't buying and one of the hosts said, I
know he wasn't buying an engagement ring for Taylor Swift
(07:27):
and Adam Schefter just stop, said, how do you know
he wasn't buying an engagement ring for Taylor Swift? Wait,
what do you mean how do you know he wasn't
Do you know he was? And Adam Schefter said no,
but but how do you know he wasn't buying an
engagement ring for Taylor Swift? And the hosts were a
little bit flummixed, and they were like, well, what do
you know, Adam, are you saying anything? And he wasn't
saying anything. He just said, I just you don't know
(07:47):
that he wasn't buying an engagement ring for Taylor Swift. Okay,
and it became a pretty awkward moment. You can see it.
It's all over YouTube and U and it's it's right there,
and it's Adam Schefter kind of having some fun. Now,
let me just say this and understand this, Adam Schefter
is not going to do anything that is going to
damage his relationship with Travis Kelcey or the Kansas City Chiefs.
(08:12):
He's not going to even joke around about that there.
If he was just making a joke, he's like, no, no,
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. The
fact that he left it out there and is such
an open ended situation tells me that he knows something
and this engagement is gonna happen, and it's gonna happen
sometime in the next ten days, pretty much to coincide
(08:33):
with the very beginning of their season this year, but
probably to happen so they can get it out of
the way before the football season starts, and that that's
kind of the Chiefs can focus on, you know, football.
But Adam Schefter is not doing this and he's not
putting his relationship with the Chiefs at risk. If this
is potentially going to piss off Travis Kelcey because you know,
you know, like, look, how do you build relationships as
(08:54):
an insider? You don't piss off teams, right, you don't
piss off players. You are beholding to them for for
them to give you inside information, for them to give
you tips, for you to break news. They have to
know they can trust you. And you see insiders on
the outside if they do things I don't like that.
We're not talking to that guy, right, Like, look, good
luck trying to get a question to Dion Sanders if
you think he's a crappy coach, right, you're not getting
(09:15):
You're not getting that access. Schefter's not even with a joke.
He is not gonna put that at risk because he
knows even if it's a joke and he doesn't tamp
it down. Suddenly you're causing problems for Travis Kelsey and
Taylors because now the ramp up questions about the engagement
are going to continue to keep coming and keep coming. Wait, well,
now the pressure about getting engaged. Are they getting engaged?
Should they not get engaged?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Now?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
I don't think they should. They've been together for a
year that since kind of a short whirlwind thing, but whatever,
and you're not gonna put that kind of pressure on
people who can potentially get mad at you for it.
And then Adam Schefter gets cut out and so he
doesn't have any breaking news of the Chiefs and Patrick
Mahomes and Kelsey. There's no way he does that unless
he knows something. So just putting those pieces together. Being
(09:58):
the great Internet and television detective that I am, I
gotta find a way to make a TV show, maybe
like a twenty minute show a week that could work out.
Judging by that, I could tell within the next ten
days we're going to find out Travis Kelcey and Taylor
Swift are engaged.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Wow. I like this, Yep, yep. Connect the dots.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
I mean, they had the big party that was chronicled
on all of the social media. But certainly what's left
the vestiges of the old regime of paparazzo site. They
really don't have the same cloud they did once upon
a time, nor are they right like they were once
upon a time. A lot of guesswork anymore, but certainly
(10:37):
a lot of photos, I mean Channing Tatum and all
these other vote cam bit shown up.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Did he talk like that the whole time. I don't know.
That'd be kind of damn cool if he did.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
By the way, it looks like that that movie's gonna
get greenlit and they're gonna start yeah on that. Yeah yeah,
I will be there opening day with as tall a
hurricane as I could possibly smuggle into a theater. Anyway,
that being said, all the celebrities showing up, like you
always try to connect the dots, saying it's birthday parties
and this is a you know, a little downtime before
(11:07):
the new season, and she's got a little bit of
downtime before the tour. I get all the updates and
it's like fifty eight days to this and forty eight,
forty days to that and whatever else. People asking me
for tickets to Indianapolis. I have none right now. People
were working on things, but it's just the the idea
that it If nobody's looking to do a big denial,
(11:30):
there's two schools of thought.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Either you're on the money and it's imminent, and we
get a.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Big blow up press conference and balloons and yeah, you
name it, fireworks in there. Maybe we get a drone
show over the castle at Disneyland.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I don't know, man, I could be I could be
an entertainment inside. Like I could be the new Steve Cometco. Oh,
they come to me for entertainment.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
In fact, that you got to know Cometco.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Yeah, you like.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
You want to get a Kurt Loader in the new
I'll be.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
The new aj Benza. I'll get that in Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure,
fame you do the aj Benz A line.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
I love it, dude.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
If I could buy those on DVD, I don't want
a bunch of DVDs around my place, but I would
buy those just so I can listen to I'm gonna
go find that online and I'm gonna add that in
as a as a drop for the show and make
sure they don't cut it from the registers. But either
it goes that way or it's the Hey, it's a
(12:29):
great story that we know we can milk short term.
The one hundred million dollar deal is interesting to me,
like that, that whole thing. You know, I love the
business of all of this stuff, right, the podcast that
make a hundred million dollars uh, and the well, the
ninety nine point nine percent of them that don't make
dime one except to make you feel good. That you
said your piece, which is and everything in between, but
(12:50):
it becomes the let's milk this for all it's worth
while we can, I'm telling you now, which doesn't mean
that you know, schefter and up like they they show
for products and stuff too.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
So this is the kind of thing is like you
play on.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
But at this moment, right with everything that has gone on,
are the folks that thought it was just an elaborate
ruse at some point just gonna take the l one.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah, where's the yeah, where's that long time? See? This
is still a fake relationship. Fake, it's all fake. It
doesn't mean like it.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
And like we we've all read plenty of books, seen
plenty of movies and TV shows about what Hollywood was
once upon a time and the lives people had to leave,
uh and secrets and all of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
I get it. It's a lot harder these days. It's
all fat stuff fair. Where he keeps showing up in Europe,
that's commitment to the bit. Man.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
I'm gonna go back for Minnie Camp and then I'm
back on a plane sleeping so I can get to
Dublin that I can get.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
To hear that I can get to hear and I
don't know if I would fit to the bit, Like.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I don't know if I would drive to the grocery store,
go back home and get told, Hey, you got to
go back to the grocery store.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I'll do it tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I'm not gonna do it flying to Europe and back
and on and Asia and back. And that's that's a lot, man,
that's a lot of That's a lot of miles to
put on you to go that that's yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I I really think at.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Some point that just ceased to become a story and
it was okay, maybe maybe maybe this is real.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
No, like that was that was the big part of it.
As soon as over the course of the European trek.
Uh and you know that part of the international thing
with her tour and the many weary miles and the
norarad like tracking of where Travis Kelsey was in the world.
I think that kind of pushed some of those arguments,
(14:38):
uh whoop to the wayside once and for.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
All, telling you ten days, Travis Kelcey Taylor Swift will
be engaged maybe maybe for the maybe even maybe middle
of next week sometime the opener, Yeah, maybe right after
the open on Thursday, or maybe right after the opener,
maybe right, I was maybe on, Oh how great would
that be? She does a concert on the field after
(15:01):
the opener, and he asked her, Yeah, yeah, buddy, telling
you next ten days we're gonna see it. And again
I'm the new Steve Cometco.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Start singing, but daddy, I love him on the field
and away we go. Uh.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live the Tireck
dot Com Studios. Although, well, if I become Steve Cameco,
I think I gotta I gotta replace you with Melissa Rivers.
I think that's who has.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
To come in now. Oh yeah, I think so. I
gotta think I rate higher at this point. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
I was just trying to think of people who are
on E like fifteen years ago.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Man, come on, I don't know what work would be.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Man.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
No, it was bringing up Steve Cometco. Come on, uh
coming out like you television reporters. Yeah you're Michael Kassner.
I'm thinking about all these people now who are on Yeah, sure, no,
you could be you could be him. That'd be great. Wow,
that's great. Yeah, there you go. What other correspondence. But
you could, yeah, jewels As, Yes, yeah, buddy, tell her.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
About her once she was very and again they'll be
engaged in the next ten day.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Not Mike and Jules Ausner, but Travis Kelsey up there,
Ted Gossluck, Yeah, and our old friend.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
No, we have talked to you a couple of times.
Maria Menunas.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Yes, that's right, Yes, you're right, you're right with this
Hollywood minute, I see Mariam anytime I go to a movie. Oh,
I got Maria Minuna's telling me about what's going on.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Movie. Yeah, let's go get movie for a little bit.
Uh coming up next. Hey, a dog.
Speaker 1 (16:27):

saying this is a dog, we would all want to
be our pet. Plus, we got more big stuff out
of the NFL. Keep it right here, Jason and Mike

We're gonna I know what's going to be the highlight
of the night into tomorrow. We're gonna have it for
you coming up in a couple of minutes, and it's
come to us of course. Curtissey of Show Hey Hotan
(18:58):
courtesy of Show Hey, Otani, that shouted Kirch Street.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
And said, col my name is Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
It's Saturday night at ten o'clock in the White Sox
last one hundred and thirty six game.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
He's get off me, just yeah, shut up. Let me
sleep here in the cat my lord in my old style.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Leave alone, Harmon, get it, get out of the gutter.
You're sleeping in the gun. It's comfortable here. I'm comfortable.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
I found a group from.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
So Tonight is the second show, heo Tani, Bobblehead Night
of the year at Dodger Stadium, Dodgers playing the Orioles.
They were down three to one, doesn't matter. Now they
have the lead show. How Tani has the forty second
home run of his season so far, and it's been
a big night. But let me just tell you, this
is one of those things where, hey, we tell you
(19:47):
what's going on, and then we're gonna go back and
tell you how we got here. So with Bobblehead Day today,
people lined up at Dodger Stadium at eleven o'clock today. Okay,
they started lining up up at eleven o'clock this morning.
It got so crazy that they had to open the
gates to the stadium at two and allow people, and
(20:08):
when it got to be like five o'clock, it was
insane because only the first forty thousand people coming to
this game are guaranteed bobbleheads, so of course it's gonna
be big lie. I don't want to be one of
the fifteen thousand doesn't get a bobble and I can't
do that. And there's two different bobbleheads out there. You
get the regular Otani bobblehead, and then there is the
gold Otani bobblehead, which comes in like what in every
(20:31):
what like two thousand boxes or something like.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
That, and they're supposed to be seventeen hundred of them
out of the forty thousand.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Okay, so it's very rare to go. Now.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I don't know how because whenever I go to Dodger
Stadium and they give out the bobbleheads, it's just here, here, here, here,
So I'm like, okay, like you got to know at
some point when you're giving out a gold one, right,
and you put that to the side if you work,
wouldn't you put that to the side if.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
You work there? And here's a question, here you go, here,
you go right, how.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Soon do they get to see him? We will find
Moncey Milanio, so, our colleague here at Fox Sports Radio.
She had a picture with cases of them stacked up
on a pallette.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Did she go to the game tonight? She was there earlier.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Today, so I think she was there because she does
she's still there and stuff, so she may still be
there right now. Say, we should probably try to find
her to describe the madness.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Let's get Manzi. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
I don't know if there's randomly inserted like a baseball
card would be in the case, or if it's actually
a case of gold one. Once upon a time they
would actually just have all, right, here's stacks of bobbleheads,
and then there would be a case of gold ones,
and they'd randomly grab one from that pile again randomly
in theory. I don't know what the mixes these days
(21:45):
as to how much certainty there is of the gold
one versus it's just random. In Tuta, there it is.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
We have a chase on the four h five, a
guy on a forklift with a case of what could
be gold bobbleheads of show. Hey, yeah, so one and
every seventeen hundred one in every about four percent of
you you get a gold one somehow, so I really
wonder how they do that, like and maybe you can't
see it, maybe you have to open it and see it.
And I would assume that's how would be the best
(22:14):
way to do it.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
But because sometimes they come with a clear box, it
would appear from the way some of the photos I've
seen that you actually had to open it to determine
whether you got the gold one.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
But I have now seen and I know how much
they're going to be going for. There are two gold
bobble heads on eBay right now from tonight. They both
have Tonight's stayed on them eight twenty eight, twenty four
giveaway new in box, and one is being sold for
thirty one hundred dollars and one is being sold for
two thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Well, there's one that is a confirmed sale for twenty
five hundred. So one has been sold for twenty five hundred. Yeah,
right in the middle of those listings that you just
put up. Yeah, so I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
I got right here, I have like and here's where
someone you I think you have to understand the market, like, okay,
here it is right here. Two thousand thirty one hundred,
four thousand, twenty five hundred, and then there's one for
seventeen thousand.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, I mean there were a couple others that sold
a little earlier tonight, fifteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I'm like, Dudred.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Dude, come on, man, all the you gotta give me.
It's in line with a bit somewhere between two and
four thousand dollars. Don't give me a seventeen thousand.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
But you know what, though, if that's the one that
shows up first, sometimes you get the I just have
to have it and you're not, you know, going through
and scrolling, it's like mine, Wow, it must really be
that rare and that unique. So look, I've seen stupidity
in the trading card memorabilia market low these many years.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Because you hit the buy it now, you.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Bought it now, No crab, I didn't want to buy
that now, No no, no, I thought I was just
gonna go look at the item, man, I want to
get all the terms and conditions.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
No, no, I bought it. It's a one click and
one stop shopping. Uh So, yeah, it's because because I
remember when the first one Jason, I mean, because the
gold was surprise. Yeah, it wasn't until that night, like
right as people were in line. And not to say
it wasn't still a madhouse, like it was still crazy
(24:18):
because of the show.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Hey phenomenon that it is.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Now you add a dog on the bobblehead, yeah, or
sud on the bobblehead. But people realized what the first
round went for. I mean that's still a brisk trading market.
Normally they have a quick shelf life and then they
go go away. In terms of the bobbleheads for Otani
(24:42):
this year, I mean you still got a market. I
mean the first ones were still going for a good
two fifty two seventy five earlier today.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
So speaking of the dog, because now it is a
bobblehead with with Otani's dog. Yeah, Otani's dog throughout the
first pitch tonight, real, Okay, So in front of fifty
in front of fifty thousand people, here comes Otani comes
out with Decoy, a dog that once he went public. Hey, yes,
Decoy is my dog, and what an adorable dog. He
(25:14):
brings Dcoy out to the mound and he puts him down,
and he puts the baseball down next to Dcoy, who
was standing at the pitching rubber. Otani goes and stands
behind the plate like he's a catcher, and then he
gives decoy the sign. Decoy picks up the baseball and
runs it to him behind home plate. Greatest first pitch ever.
I mean, you had your dog in front of fifty
(25:35):
thousand people pick up a baseball, all the smells, all
the different yell that that's going on, and here's a
dog going. I don't know what the hell this is
all about, but hey, it's Otani's dog, so you know
he's gonna be good under pressure. He grabs the baseball
and runs it to Otani. I can't get my dog
to not run in the street when he sees a butterfly,
and Otani can get his dog to pick up a
ball and run it to him in front of fifty
(25:57):
thousand people at Chevezravin.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah, if I throw him the ball right, the little
squeaky ball that you throw, he goes and gets it,
runs almost right back to you, and then darts left
or right to wherever he's decided he's gonna go lay
down and play with the balls. Like you know, we
could have played catch, We could have done this for
a little while. Instead, you have ended the game on me.
(26:21):
Fortunately he doesn't run into traffic, at least he hasn't
in a while.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Oh yeah, so at least I got that going for him.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
I don't trust him, though, so I'm rare he's rarely
off the leash if we're outside, because I mean he
may be gone. I mean might just decide, hey, there's
better food somewhere.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Else, like Chevy Chase and Funny Farm. Look at him, right,
he takes a dog off the leash and the dog
just takes off. Look at him, Look at him, go,
look at him.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Go.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
They got looking him go.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Like the other great piece of this right, and then
Otani Homer's in the first I was a girl who
brought her glove to the game wearing a show Heyo
Tani T shirt. That caught it. So there you go.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Well, I think everybody's wearing the T shirt.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
It's all it's all Dodger stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
I mean, this is one of the great pastimes I
have when I get to go to a game, is
just looking at the assortment of jerseys that are there.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
Not just styles, but you got to see the name plate.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Well, now you gotta wear a decoy jersey. Well he's
got a seventeen decoy jersey, one of the greatest first
pitches ever. I guarantee a tops now will have a
oh yeah picture and he gets on his hind legs
and high five Z time like I get my bus.
They might have signed Decoy to an autograph deal too.
Maybe maybe they all. Maybe they put decoy in the rotation.
They're having they're having difficulty. Oh, put decoy in the rotation.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Watch that ball. That ball is going to cross the
plate really low. He's not gonna get nothing's gonna be
up high right, it's all gonna be low right right
on the black right there.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Maybe decoy in the rotation while you're looking at the
umpire assignments.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Of a sudden, there's a late scratch and Decoy gets
and ser why this guy gives us a low strike, continues.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
To really really low strike. Watch him? He just run.
He's generous.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Can I swing the bat? You swing that bat? You're
not walking out of the stadium. Okay, strike one, But
he's just running and handing it to the catcher. That's
how it's gonna go. He's gonna have twenty seven strikeouts
unless he gets tired, in which case, if he starts
violating the pitch clock because he sees he sees some
kind of a slug or a snail and he wants
to chew it. Then we go to a new pitcher,
so he's just gonna have to outlast him.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
No, because you can't swing the bat.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
No, yeah, yeah, he's got to get to the plate
and just add it to the catcher in the strike zone.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Strike because he's not rolling the ball.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
He's handing it cheese like if he's pushing it with
his nose, you might have a shot that it gets
a little momentum and some separation.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Otherwise, No, that's not gonna be good for any I.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
See this, and I wonder, am I a good enough
human to my dog?
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Like I do. I gotta get him to not run
in the street. I gotta get him to do all
these things because every.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Time I don't have him on the leash because I'm
trying to train him to like staying there, and he does, like,
he would never take off because he likes, you know,
all the food we give him all the time.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
So he would he would never leave. He knows me
in that regard. Okay, as good as the food is leaven,
he knows I'm the weak link.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Like if we're eating dinner and Pam will say, okay, no,
you have your food, mister, he knows to come up
to me, put his paws on my on my on
my leg and just look at me and tilt his
head and I'll give it here.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Here's a little bit of cheese. There you go.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
I can guarantee that little guy my min would run
the half mile.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Because the big loop.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Oh okay, so there's an older, older lady, huge Dodger
fan used to stop me all the time. And because
it's no matter, no matter what was going on in
her life and job or whatever, she's she's got to
be eighty seven now, it would still be talking about
some call that Vin Scully had or something that she
hated Dave Roberts did with the bullpen. But she always
(29:45):
has a jar of snausages on her front porch, like
always has the dog treat, So as you're walking by,
if you want to take one, take one. We generally don't.
But if she happens to be out there not getting by,
So if I can't find my dog, I know exactly
where he ran.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Oh TONI bobblehead night the Dodgers have a five to
four lead over the Orioles as the Orioles bat in
the top of the fifth inning. Speaking of a five
to four lead, that is where the Mets sit right
now with the Arizona Diamondbacks. For more on this game,
Brian Finley has all the details how the Mets scored
every one of their runs right now with what's trending, well.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
The most important one is in the sixth inning, Pete
Alonso had the sack fly that gave the Mets the lead.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
So they're up, Yeah, five to four.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
That was some slide by Starling Marte to He was
a dead duck at the plate and he slides around
the tag like a bleep and pro.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
He certainly does, and it was good enough to give
the Mets the lead. It's five to four in their
favor against the Diamondbacks top.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Of the seventh.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
The Mets need all the wins they can get their
three games three and a half games as of right
now out of that third and final wild card spot
in the National League. And yeah, you mentioned the Dodgers
five to four in their favor against the Orioles. The
Dodgers scoring four runs in the third inning, Joho Tani
on his bobblehead night where his dog took the ball
at the at the mound and then brought it home
(31:09):
as the what do you want to call that?
Speaker 3 (31:11):
The the first.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
Pitch, celebratory first pitch if you if you want to
mention it like that.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
But you're having.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Trouble with words right now to describe this. You seem
very emotional with his first pitch by Shook. I am
brought to tears, okay, because there's a beautiful thing to
say it was it was. You look very emotional talking
about this right now. It's like you're talking about tennis.
You're so emotional. I love dogs, I know you do.
It's it's very it's you're struggling. It's a big thing
watching you do that, go through this right now.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
I kind of my heart. But I'm not saying or
so am I really struggling with it? Well again, No,
you're just struggling to find the right words to talk
about this incredible moment. And I can see that. Yeah,
I'm with you one. Yeah, you understand, Yeah, yeah, I understand,
Yeah for sure. Yeah. So five to four Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Are leading the Orioles and that is in the fifth inning.
The Orioles have the top spot in the AL wild
card standing. Early we saw the Guardians went over the
Royals seven to five, the Astros taking into the Phillies
ten to nothing, raise they get beat down by the
Mariners six to two. Wins for the Nationals, the Red
Sox and the Braves. The Padres lost in a walk
(32:14):
off thanks to an RBA base knock a single from
Nolan Aeronado in a four to three win for San
Diego and wins for the Rangers over Mike Carmon's White
Sox four to three.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
Let's go to.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
What is happening in tennis US Open really quickly and
Novak Djokovic just won by way of a walkover Laslow
Jara was the second round opponent, and Jara two games
into the third set, has been dealing with an injury
since about the second set when they had the medical
medical timeout and just could not finish, so he had
to pull out Novak by way of that on the
(32:48):
third round.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
With his win, you also saw on the.
Speaker 5 (32:51):
Women's side for the Americans, Coco Golf pick up the
second set or the first and second set brilliantly in
her second round takedown over the German in Tatiana. Maria
so Jason and Mike is as I work it back
to you, a lot of Americans that have continued to
play well on the men's and women's side for this
(33:12):
US Open, we're going into the third round and we're
seeing a lot of representation.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
When does Agassy play? When is Agassy? When was the
last time he had hair on his head?
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (33:23):
That about you.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
He started to get great when he started shaving his head.
But that was a great agacy. He had the whole
thing with brookshields and end less love in his big run.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
But then then he started shaving his head and he
became great. But do you know why?
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Because more less wind resistant, able to get to the
ball better that hair flowing behind him.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
I was gonna say it brought out the evil like
Luther and so many others.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
He did get called out for wearing a wig once. Okay,
I gotta find love to see you wear a wig, mister.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
I've worn wigs before. Maybe I'm wearing one right now.
It's just a really short wig, That's what it is.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Brian Family coming up next. After a surprising report today
from NFL players, the most underrated quarterback that's gonna have
a big season in twenty twenty four is who Sam?
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Sam Sab? I didn't say a guy who stinks that's it. Underrated.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
That's coming up next right here, Jason and Mike Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
The Jason Smith Show is my best friend, Mike Harmon.
Coming up in twelve minutes, Boy, do we have a show. Hey,
Otani update for you when I told you last week, Hey,
I'm pretty sure Otani's going to be the first fifty
to fifty guy in baseball history.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
He has taken some large steps to get there. Tonight,
I see what you did there? Yeah, I did.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Steps, and we'll tell you exactly how it happened. Coming
up in about ten minutes again, Dodgers lead the Orioles
on Otani Bobblehead Night with Tommy. Bobblehead's already being sold
for five grand on the internet. It's insane. So we'll
have more on this coming up in about ten minutes.
Jason and Mike Live from Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Here. I am glad to see that.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I'm and you and I I think we both agree
on this, are getting a little bit more. I would say,
backup on a guy we think is going to break
through this year at quarterback. And I don't mean he's
gonna break through and suddenly throw forty touchdowns, but he's
on the Trevor Lawrence train from terrible as a rookie,
(35:38):
bad coaching situation, everything gets fixed for the second year,
and now he takes a jump because that's happen with
Trevor Lawrence right off with Urban Meyer, it was terrible. Hey,
here comes a quarterback head coach in Doug Peterson, and hey,
all right, So and suddenly Trevor Lawrence has turned into
a decent quarterback. He's not great. He's not deserving the
money they gave him. They're worried we took the guy
(36:01):
number one overall. What happens if we don't pay him? Boy,
this is we're in trouble. No, you're paying a jag.
He's just an average quarterback. But he's an average quarterback.
And seeing NFL players in a big anonymous survey they
do with ESPN. They were asked certain questions about who
the best quarterbacks in the leagues are, who the best breakout
players are, and they were asked, who's the best breakout
(36:22):
quarterback candidate for this season? Or sorry, who's the most
underrated quarterback in the NFL? And fourth on the list
getting a big handful of votes. Fourth quarterback, fourth most
underrated quarterback this according to people play the Game is
Bryce Young of the Panthers, and I look to him
(36:42):
to take a big step this season to become a serviceable,
good quarterback. The guy is too talented, right, it's in
a bad situation. Last year, Canalis, you see the respect
that he has around the league as a quarterback grew.
You see that he's got the great resume. What he
was able to do.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
Hey, when you're.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Turning a guy around whose career was basically over after
being the first overall pick and suddenly, hey, come on, man,
come do this, in come do this in Carolina, it's great.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Look.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Canalis has done a great job with quarterbacks, and now
they've surrounded him with a lot of talent. They brought
in a number one receiver in Deontay Johnson for him.
He's got better weapons than he had in twenty twenty four.
That's twenty twenty three, that's for sure. Bryce Young this
year should take a step up and he should be
a twenty touchdown, thirty eight hundred yard passing guy. Not
(37:29):
something gonna become a superstar. He's not something all he's lowed.
He's not Caleb Williams, but he should take a step
from being a wow can he even be a quarterback
in the NFL after this year to a serviceable starter.
Now there's big questions after that. But I feel pretty
pretty confident this year that he's gonna jump. He'll throw
for twenty touchdowns, probably run for a few more, and
be around thirty eight hundred yards passing for the season.
(37:51):
He's got the right he's got the right coaching, he's
got the players around him. They're gonna bring their running
back along slowly after coming back from a torn acl okay,
I get that, but he's got enough where and in
the division that's a little soft. He should be able
to put up those numbers and suddenly they will feel
a lot better about Bryce Young being their franchise quarterback, and.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Schuber Hubbards certainly serviceable. While you wait for the rookie.
Remember when Jerry Jones couldn't keep his mouth shut. We're
keeping an eye on that guy. And then he gets
drafted by the Panthers. Like, oh, bad job by you.
But you've got Adam feeling great veteran to just set
the table. Ian Thomas is a guy that's kind of
(38:29):
shown a little bit at times at the tight end position.
You mentioned Deontay Johnson. Just go on down the line.
You've added some talent to help you there. Legett who
you drafted, right, Xavier Legett out of South Carolina. So
another guy that gives you a weapon down field. You
brought brad Idzich over from from the Buccaneers with Canalis.
(38:54):
He was the wide receivers coach. So hopefully they find
a little bit of continuity and flow there. Resurrected Baker Mayfield.
Of course he had Godwin and Mike Evans to work with,
so that that's a that's a nice thing that gives
you a little bit of love. But the big thing
for me is, and you always laugh at me, we
(39:14):
haven't done as much of it yet.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
We've got eight days.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Uh becomes all the question about the offensive line because
this even with improvements and fortification and new bodies, still
rates as one of the bottom five units in the
National Football League. And we know with Bryce Young, particularly
when we talk about his stature right that there's just
that little fear that he's gonna get ragged all too
(39:37):
much to make it through and just call it what
it is. He's a slight frame. Obviously, a full off
season conditioning and recognizing what it takes moving.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
To the next level, he'll be better.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
And I have great hope, especially in division right, Tampa
is still the favorite as we sit here today.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Uh you got well, actually they're they're behind Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Atlanta is a narrow favorite, and then you've got the Bucks,
but certainly neither team running away and hiding this season,
So opportunity knocks for Bryce Young, a guy that most
people were ready to put in the trash bin already.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
And I'll tell you this, the big question I have
for Bryce Young is is he going to be Trevor Lawrence,
which means now he's settled into being a league average
type quarterback, or will he have a tow a tongue
of I loa type progression where hey, with the right guy,
he can grow even more year one to year two,
year two to year three and suddenly be a be
an upper level quarterback. That's kind of the question I
(40:36):
have this year. I feel really good. That's the kind
of year he's gonna have. We're gonna talk about Bryce. Hey,
he's having that second type of breakout year. But what's
the next level for him after this? That's the big question.
But I feel great about him this year.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
No.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
I appreciate you there and bringing two way in, but
that's still Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle. I like Yantae Johnson,
don't get me wrong, but he ain't either of those.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Get wait until next year, they'll get Just wait, I'll
just wait to be a meathead while right and we'll
be that. You'll get Davante Adams next year. You never
Knowle's coming up next. Do we have a big time
basketball story for you? This is Fox Sports Radio.
