You know there was a time that Edwin Diaz did
trump me on the depth chart.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Well yeah there was, but now that's over. It's over
all long. That was the guy, But now it's over.
It's it's absolutely it was a hero.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
You had a theme song. Nobody ever put a theme
song on me.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
It's over. We're not getting back together. Okay, I'm with
you now, we're not getting back together never ever.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Ever.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
I'll take them out of my phone. I'll take him
out of my phone.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah no, And then you're gonna hide him like the
Seinfeld episode.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
I'll hide him under spray tan. Oh, spray tan's, Edwin Dia,
No no, it's where I go to get my spray tan. No, no, no.
Uh look, I'm not one of those people, but tonight
I think I am. You know what, you know what
I need to get through this, Edwin Dia. I need
a cute dog video, And luckily the Dodgers were able
to help me out with that. We have a very

(01:40):
special guest getting set to join us in a couple months.
We got to set up what happened tonight with sho
Hey Otani Bobblehead Night. First, the lines at Chavez Ravine
were forming as early as eleven o'clock this morning. Second
Otani Bobblehead Night the o Tani Bobblehead's first given away
earlier this year. They're worth a lot of money. Potentially,
They're are gold bobblehead Otani's that are given out that

(02:02):
are worth anywhere from five to seven times as much
as a regular bobblehead I'm seeing some gold ones on
eBay already for three five seven thousand dollars being been on.
It's insane.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I mean, Joe Kelly gave up a game used glove.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah, I mean you traded that guy a glove. I
saw that video with Joe Kelly, and I'm like, yeah,
but does it it's Joe Kelly. Does he really need
the glove? It's really made so.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
It has more value in terms of him. Does he
have another one broken in and ready to go? Yeah? Probably.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
But you know, every time I see Joe Kelly on
the mountain, I'm like, the Dodgers are given up. Any
That's what I think. They've given up tonight. Joe Kelly's
in the game. They've just given up.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I haven't seen as many of those poudy faced shirts
around time.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's it's just more of a it's just more of
a general Oh, they've given up tonight. Okay, Kelly's in
the game. It's done.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Why do you sneer at the people?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
So Otani bobbleheads are given away by two three o'clock.
That had to open the gates to let people into
the state was insane because it's Otani Bobblehead night, and
it's a great bobblehead because it's Otani and his dog, Decoy,
which first came to prominence about a year ago. And
everybody loves Decoy, and Decoy is an adorable dog. And
to celebrate Bobblehead Day, Shoeotani had his dog throw out

(03:17):
the first pitch and here's how it sounded, and.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Moments ago, the first dog ever to throw out a
first stitch was pretty darn impressive.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Actually, show hey goes behind the home plate.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Here comes Decoy with the first pitch, and it's a
strike right down the middle. Little tree, little reward.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
You tell me he works hard on his game.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
He works hard on training his dog.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Decoy picks up the ball off the mound. Otani is
behind the plate, motions for him to run. He runs
with the ball, gives it to Otani, gives him a
high five. Really, forget about putting him the Dodgers' rotation.
He should close for the Mets. Okay, forget about that.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
No, I mean you gotta you mentioned the high five
like it was nothing. Well, I come on, that's kind
of a big deal. Listen, my dog.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I can't get my dog to not run outside and
barket squirrels. But I've at least been able to teach
him to high five. I can at least do that
he learns a high five. I mean, I give I
give M a treat after. But hey, it's only the squirrel. Okay, Benny,
go ahead, go out, bark at the squirrel. Come back in.
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
See, we had the unfortunate situation with the dog that
you know, he was getting a little uh a little
weight on me and you know, those those small legs,
so we had to stop giving them treats. So we
had to stop giving them treats. So a lot of
the stuff that you might have trained him on, yeah,
it's gone because he ain't remembering it. Because he doesn't

(04:37):
get the treat after, there's no validation or need for
him to actually do any of the stuff you're asking
because he's not getting anything at the end of it,
and he knows it.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
You have to keep saying treat so I know if
you don't say treat, I'm not doing it.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
And all of America just started nodding their head for
one reason or another as I told that tale, maybe
replacing dog with themselves.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
So the Otani decoy bobblehead has given away and again
the gold ones that are going for manyst five six
seven thousand dollars, and Otani, of course did not disappoint.
The Dodgers won, and well, when Otani does this early on,
you know, it's a pretty big thing.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Down the stretch. Another one, Trudo, Otani, you launches on
the right field. It's sad.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Stand back to reading the moment, breeding in the room
and leaving the yard.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Dodgers Radio Network on the call. He would also steal
two bases. He is now at forty two to forty two,
still a couple of days ago before September even begins.
But now it's time to help solve one of the
biggest mysteries tonight joining us now I'm a hot line.
We had a lot of difficulty booking this guest. I
had to actually text her h Fox Sports Radio Update

(05:52):
anchor Extraordinaire Monci Bolanos, who also does work for the
Dodgers at the game tonight show how a Tani bobblehead night,
MANSI there are some big questions we need to ask you.
Can you answer for us?

Speaker 5 (06:03):
I will do my best. I am half asleep. I
was at the stadium before at ten am. I saw
it all, but I will do my best. What are
your questions?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Well, well okay, first of all, thanks for staying.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Why are you bothering me? Come home? First? Tire Dodger
fans are annoying me all day long?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
What was what was that at all? What was it like?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
You get there at ten o'clock to work and an
hour later people start lining up? What was that see like?

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Well, honestly, so apparently they started lining up around seven
or eight am and they weren't letting them stay. But
apparently this happened as early as that. I came in
right before ten. There were some scattered people. Around ten
thirty is when the line officially started forming outside the gates.
People on foot, so people were leaving their cars you

(06:51):
the gate. The auto gates were not open at this point.
People are leaving their cars elsewhere and walking to make
a line outside of the gate as early as ten
thirty am, So it.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Kind of looked like walking dead. When there's that scene
where oh look at all these abandoned cars on the
highway and it just stretches for miles in either direction,
kind of I was literally like.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Where are all these people coming from We had tour
guides that couldn't get into work that it was like Karmageddon.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
At one point, it was Karma geddon. At one point
I was getting texts call some targets. They're like, I
don't know if I'm going to get in, and I'm like, yeah,
I don't know if I'm ever going to see you again.
This may be the end of our working relationship.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Manci how many texts, calls, emails, tweets, people trying to
beg you to, you know, maybe find one into your
bag before you left.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
You know me, I'm very direct. Nobody was asking me
for anything because I would have laughed in their face.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Do you know me?

Speaker 6 (07:48):
Nobody asked me for anything.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
People know what they're dealing with, absolutely not. I would
have just laughed in their face. It really was a
surreal experience, and I don't know what I would have
done if I didn't get their outside because it all start.
It started the entire day. Auto gates just because like
get an idea, auto gates typically open about four forty
when we have a seven to ten game. They were
already open at like three forty five. They were trying

(08:14):
to hold off to four fifteen. Absolutely not No, did
they open.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
The concession stands to start turning people upside down for
their money?

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
All right, very good.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Okay, So now here's the big question. So everybody's getting
Otani bobbleheads. It's it's like because I've gone to games
and gotten bibbleheads before, I got Gil Hodges Dave Roberts,
and they just pull them out of a box and
hand them to you. Now, obviously the bobbleheads are worth
a lot of money, but the gold bobblehead, which they're
about seventeen hundred of, you know, are worth way more money.
And as we said already, they're on social media. They're

(08:47):
on eBay for as much as five seven grand apiece.
Like how do you know if you're getting one? Like
like like how do they give them away? And people
wind up seeing, oh I have a gold one, Like
can can you see through it? Because normally you could?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Yes, correct, so this does not have a window, you
are right. So we had a Cody Bellinger gray and
white bobblehead. The gray was the rare one and it
was a window. So right away as you handed somebody
a bobblehead, they knew the same thing with Otani. In
the first round of the bobbleheads, there was a window bobblehead,
so you could sell there's no window, you have to

(09:23):
take it out. I heard rumors that some of them
had a pop print to indicate that it was a
gold bobblehead, but I could not affirm that. I asked
people and I couldn't confirm it. How did we know
people were getting them? Obviously, the first people through the
gates were tour guests, so yes, you should come take
a free game tour. Those were the first ones they

(09:44):
were in before season ticket holders. So how did we know.
We'd started hearing people screaming, so they would come in
open their boxes. You would hear people streaming and it
was like, oh, they got a gold one. That's that's it.
And so you would just start hearing cheers and streaming
like the rout, the pavilions and you know, in center field,
so that's where this all starts. That was how we

(10:05):
knew because people were cheering and yelling and screaming, and
if you watch the game, you may think like, oh,
it doesn't look like it's sold out. We were thinking
that too. Yeah, because slams were buying fifteen tickets at
a time and getting sixteen bobbleheads.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, oh right, yeah like it.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
It didn't look like every seat was full, But it's
because people bought so many.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Did they make them go back in line or did
they just honor all those tickets?

Speaker 6 (10:30):
Oh, and that used to be a policy where you
had to.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Exit and come back. It changed a few years ago,
So it had nothing to do with Otani or this year.
It changed maybe since the pandemic that they didn't make
you exit. Now you come in and you're like, oh,
have four tickets. They'll scan your four tickets and they
will give you your full bobble huts.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
So if I can, if I can surmise what you've
been saying here the last couple of minutes. You did
not get me a gold bobblehead Otani that you're going
to bring to me tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
That is one hundred percent correct.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I thought we were friends. I really I thought we
were friends.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
We are.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Friends?

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Wow, I mean you could have there were seventeen hundred.
You could have got five a month.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Though, Hey Wance, he will bring you a burrito.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Though, I will bring you a burrito on Sundays.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Is it a gold burrito that I can sell on
eBay and make a lot of money on.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
No, this is not a golden ticket where it is
not really Wanda, but really Willy Wanda.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Now we're talking all sorts of enterprise.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
That's when you know you've gotten the best.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
See that. I get the all along billboard by the
by the office.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Hey, I went to I went to the Dodgers game.
They were giving away Willy Wonka bobbleheads, but I got
a Willy Wanda one. I don't think it's worth anything.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Willy Wanda parla guys.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I gonna look up and see if there's someone real
Willy Wanda. Let's see.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Hang careful.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Although it is hey Willy, will Willy and Wanda, apparently
it's a kid's alphabet book teaching you how to sing
and read the alphabet from A to Z.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
William Wandez evidently also a next level villain from the
My Hero Academia Vigilante series. How about that?

Speaker 1 (12:12):
And then welcome, and then under it says did you
mean Willy Wonka?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Hey, she's had a long day. Okay, water and I
appreciate you picking up the phone, Manzi.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
So lastly, Manzie, let me say, did was there any
point where any fans got out of control? Anything? I
need this bobblehead and did you see anything like that?

Speaker 6 (12:34):
So crazy, it's crazy to believe, but I think everything
really went as good as it could.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
There were so many guests coming in at like to
take a tour, right like they took a tour at eleven,
and they were like, how can we stay in here?
No sec everyone exit? Oh people were trying to camp
out and it was like, no security handled everything really well,
and we just told everybody that. Asks were like, it's
gonna be busy, but you're gonna get a bobblehead. They
brought in more giveaway to this babblehead and they had

(13:02):
ever done. Fifty thousand is what the number we were told.

Speaker 6 (13:05):
For the bobblehead.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
So I think people were just coming in with the
expectation that it was going to be absolutely awful, and
then it was like.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
Oh, it was not too bad.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
See that's a big deal, monzie. Because the reports were
that there were going to be forty thousand, which meant
that some ten to fifteen thousand people were going to
be told to beat it. Correct.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Yes, you know, we the number was moved to push
up to fifty thousand. So I think if you were
there before the game started, you got a babble hood man.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
So anyway, let down for seven oh Now, I feel
like if you waste, you wasted your whole day.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
I sit here for love.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
I sat through the sun.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I got heat stroke, and I could have gotten one
anyway by walking in at seven fifteen.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Come on, I say that you wouldn't have sat in traffic,
would have sat in traffic later in the day. You
were gonna be in traffic no matter what.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Well, you didn't have to sit in line and listen.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
To I'm staked out on an ant hill for eight
hours and now I'm going to watch the game. I'm exhausted.
I'm so hot. I know that it's cold and the
wind is blowing, but I'm so unbelievably hot.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
But can we offer you an eighteen dollars beer?

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, So what I'm talking about well done?

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Like no celebrities came up asking for the bobblehead like
ahead of time, Like Mary Heart didn't come up and say, hey,
can I get my bibblehead ahead of time?

Speaker 5 (14:26):
No, she did not. She probably didn't show up until
the third inning or something and.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Okay, all right, all yeah, just making sure all I'm
just saying like I said, like Mary Heart, I didn't
say Mary Hart like means, you know, specifically did that right.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
I really, I really don't think I'm getting a bibblehead harmon. No,
I don't think I'm getting the gold bubblehead. I really
don't think so. I don't think I'm getting.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Well, I mean I had to ask the obvious question
because she did have the picture of her with a
mountain of them in front of her. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's the old question. Weren't you tempted a little bit
a little bit. I mean, I could have taken it
down that that line. Sure well. Instead I was gonna
make her out to be the the magnanimous, helpful teammate

(15:41):
to us and her friends and everything, instead of all right,
how do I profit off this and sluff a couple
off from my own bought on eBay from Moncy one.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
That's not Monty Belanya's, but her name is mont It's
a pretty specific name. No no, no, no no, it
was actually four hey, look over there, look at that.

Polly and Tony foodsc show. Yeah, but instead of us

Speaker 7 (17:49):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
What are you doing? Were interrupting our promo?

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. You took those clips
totally out of context.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Oh yeah, Well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Let me put this into context.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Shut up.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Paully and Tony Fusco
Show on IoT Radio, Apple podcasts O wherever you get
your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yea, Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike Harmon live from the tire Rag dot
com studios. We'll get that big NFL Bowl prediction in
a couple of minutes, but just really quick, you know
part of the pageantry tonight the show, heo, Tony bobblehead night.
Now we know how you get a gold one? How
you don't get one? I'm sorry I wanted the mystery

(18:36):
as to how people end up with the gold one,
not how you can go get one, like hey, I
can circum and jump to the top. No, no, no,
we know how you get one.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
How you got the window babbohead box versus not. And
then I'm curious because I was trying to look on
the boxes online for sale, because people are putting those
up and seeing if there's any distinguishing characters. The problem
is you're not seeing all four sides of the box.
So I've got to compare them a bunch of different photos.
I don't have time for that.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I'll just stinguish business.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
I don't care, and keep looking.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Your side two, on your side three. But tonight Otani
hits his forty second home run and he steals base
forty one and forty two. Now he stole second base
on what turned out to be a wild pitch. Mookie
Bets is frantically waiving him to third, and it looks
like he's gonna get thrown out, but he's able to
get in before the throw gets down there for a tag.

(19:28):
So now you're talking about Otani with twenty nine games
left for the Dodgers, right, they played one hundred and
thirty three games with twenty nine games left. He needs
eight home runs and eight stolen bases to be the
first fifty to fifty player in baseball history. And I'm
not saying he's gonna breeze to it, but I don't

(19:49):
even know that we're gonna get to the last couple
of days thinking he needs a home run or a
stolen base. This is a lot of games he's gonna
play in most of him and doesn't need a lot
of days off as a DH is throwing now, is
getting back to the point where he's throwing finally, so
that's good news. But he's gonna play just about every game.
And you know, look it was just Friday, where hey
forty forty Now hey forty two, forty two. Three days later,

(20:10):
you know he can be forty four forty four at
the time we get to Sunday, we're not even into
September yet. And this is where we're at.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
When he gets to forty nine, does someone have like
a catcher, does a lollipop throw down to second base
like it's Brett Favre falling from Michael Strahan and.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Give it to him. Give him on the fiftieth base. Yeah,
I don't think anybody wants it happening against them. No
one wants to give it up. No one wants to
be the person that is throwing it down and losing it.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
But yeah, just the wear and tear on the body,
the fact that he did a big throwing session, like
everything else of the day was crazy, right, the home run,
here's the first pitch with the dog, here's the bobblehead frenzy.
And I'd love to the folks that were there at
ten am. I'd love to tell them after they get

(20:54):
the bobble you know, fifty thousand of these are going
to be given away. Does that change how you spend
your Wednesday? And if they said no, I got nothing
to do anyway, then we have to work on that.
But no, But the throwing session was just kind of
an also. And oh, by the way, that's a pretty
big deal that that's moving.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Yeah, Like wait a minute, could he close in the playoffs?
Like if we get to the point where he can
go an inning, like he can come in the ninth
if you need him to come in the ninth and
pitch in.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
The beauty of it? Wait, you and I you know,
because hey, it's sports talk radio and we're having a
blast and we can throw this up against the wall.
Is that where we're trending? We got a month, got
him month, don't have to use him in the field,
got plenty of hitters, everybody's coming back and all this stuff.
But legitimately, if his arm strength is getting to that level,

(21:46):
might we get a nice little surprise for Dave Roberts
at the back end of September.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
So getting the last game of the year, he saves
the game and gets home on number fifty and stolen
base number fifty in the same game, all of those
things happen. No, I don't think it's like it's even
come down to the final two or three days. Like,
I don't even think it's gonna come down to the
final weekend for him to be a fifty to fifty guy.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Well, let's look at our buddies over at Tank though.
What's the schedule?

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Exit up out of Fresco exit swallowing Dome The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Carmon live from the tirec dot
Com Studios. So outside of sho heo TONI as speaking
as time goes on, I'll give you this big Bowl
prediction from the NFL, and it's going to happen in
the next ten days, and it's gonna be the biggest
story on the planet when it does. After after just

(22:33):
observing the media's reaction and business decisions that have been
made in the last thirty six hours, I will tell
you this, in the next ten days, Taylor Swift and
Travis Kelcey will get engaged. They will be engaged, will
be a huge story, and we'll talk about when they're

(22:54):
getting married. But in the next ten days, it's going
to happen. Okay, Now here's the two biggest reasons to
tell me, and the first one's kind of the appetizer.
The second one is the main course. So you probably
saw yesterday the Kelsey's podcast got a three year, one
hundred million dollar price tag on it. Right, So now
the Kelsey brothers are gonna do their podcast the next
three years one hundred million dollars. It's a lot of money.

(23:16):
It's amazing to make that much money in a podcast,
it's insane. But as popular as it is, are you
going in on a three year deal for a podcast
where you have a player who is retired, another guy
who may be retired. If Taylor Swift isn't going to
be part of the podcast, I don't mean she appears

(23:37):
on it, but if Travis Kelsey is not going to
be dating Taylor Swift, right, you don't know. I'm not
saying they're gonna break up, but if you want to
give Hey, I want to know. If I'm giving the
Kelsey Brothers one hundred million dollars, I want everything that
goes along with it, right. I want to make sure that, hey,
they're gonna do it, and they're gonna stay on, and hey,
is he gonna still be with Taylor Swift. If he's
with Taylor Swift, it's worth it more for us because

(23:58):
of his popularity. If he's not with Taylor's Swift. Oh,
that's a lot of money for us to give up.
The fact that they gave them three years and three
hundred million tells me that they feel pretty confident. For
whatever reason, however, negotiations went that they know that, Okay,
these two are gonna be engaged, slash married, slash together
for the next three years. And with engagement being a

(24:18):
big rumor, that was the first big domino that fell
for me.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh I like that. I like the boldness. We're in
the final eight days before the Chiefs take the field
to defend Chiefs making perfectly clear that they listen to
and love the show by their transaction log of the
last twenty four hours as well. Smith, so tip of
the cap there as well. But I dig this like

(24:44):
I'd love to see the verbiage in the contract. This
is voided if you break up. It's all front loaded
to take advantage of this current circumstance. So it's one
hundred million dollar deal, but really the signing onus was
say thirty seven, and then they're in a row shut up.

(25:06):
So it's that kind of thing that you know what
the devil's in the details as it were, So of
them staying together because Jason Kelsey's entertaining, so he gets
further removed. He'll still be a hit in Philadelphia? Is
that enough for? I don't know, man, is Travis Kelcey

(25:27):
right now? He's gonna host a game show that's supposed
to premiere here soon in short order, and he's supposed
to be in Happy Gilmore too, at least for a
brief second. All of that stuff is that worth his
part of the one hundred million dollars. Yeah, it gets
into conspiracy. Now it does in theory if he goes

(25:48):
down this highway? Is this enough to shut people up?
Was one hundred million dollars enough to finally shut people up?
Of Hey, it's all a ruse.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Well see, now here's the big and like I said,
that's the appetite, here's the dessert. Yesterday on ESPN. Dessert
Yesterday on ESPN on NFL Live, NFL insider Adam Schefter
was doing the show and Laura Rutledge, who was the host,
started talking about how Travis Kelcey just bought a racehorse
named Swift Delivery, Right, so he buys a racehorse, and

(26:20):
a couple minutes after that, Adam Schefter chimed in by saying,
I have a question, how do you know he didn't
buy an engagement ring? And Laura reltichs are what what
are you talking about? Like, wait, do you know that
he bought an engagement ring? And Adam Schefter just said no,
I'm simply asking, how do you know he didn't buy
an engagement ring. Sometime in the last couple of days,
Booger McFarlane was like, I don't know what's happening. What's

(26:42):
going on here? And they went to break and said, Okay,
we'll come back and we're gonna do Internet detective on this.
This is the thing that tells me they're engaged or
they're going to be engaged. It's going to be announced soon.
Because Adam Schefter is an NFL insider and he makes
his bones by having good relationships with teams and players.
It's how you get you get tips, it's how people

(27:03):
trust you. They know they can trust you with things.
He is not going on television and just randomly jumping
out with how do you know he didn't buy Taylor
Swift an engagement ring? If he doesn't know that, that's
what's going to happen, because this would be something that
if he didn't know this potentially could piss off Travis Kelce,
it could piss off Taylor Swift. Wait a minute, now,
you got an NFL insider saying we're gonna get engaged.

(27:25):
We're not getting engaged. What is this going on? The
Chiefs get mad because Taylor Swift is mad, and suddenly
Adam Schefter is not getting any inside information. He's not
finding out about Xavier Worthy's role with the offense. He's
not finding out whatever is going on with Patrick Mahomes.
That's done. He's done. He is done with a team
that is going to the Super Bowl every other year.
You can't have that. If it was a joke, he

(27:46):
would have played it off his I'm just kidding, just kidding, guys,
just kidding. I don't know anything, just kidding. But he
left it out there. Adam Schefter knows, and we're gonna
find out sometime in the next ten days that they're engaged.
Because he also wouldn't do it. It was gonna be
a while, like he was, Okay, we're gonna get engaged.
But wow, dude, why did you say that We're gonna
wait to announce until after the NFL season. Now we're

(28:07):
gonna have more people ramping up and asking questions about
being engaged. This is not something that comes up unless
we're getting a payoff sometime in the next few days.
And with the Chiefs playing opening night like a thursdaysh
it's kind of a weird week next week for them.
It could happen sometime right before the game, or most
more than likely with ten days between games, it happens

(28:27):
after open the opening game, but sometime the next ten days,
we're gonna find out Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift are engaged.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Next part of the tour doesn't begin until October eighteenth,
Miami Gardens, Florida at the hard Rock Stadium, followed by
New Orleans and Detroit and Indianapolis and so on, So
she still got some time off. We saw her.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
I think they canceled that Indiana one because they have
a Fever game instead, so I think they can't. They
canceled the Taylor Swift concert.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Yeah, so the Fever are playing into November. I like that.
They just decided, let's keep the cash moving on and
now we're gonna play.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
They're gonna play in the Eastern Conference in the NBA.
They're gonna where's gonna keep going.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Let's go, Caitlin Clark will get more minutes than Halliburton.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Well, you know what, you're probably right though, but you're
probably right.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
So as you go through. But they had that big
birthday party right out out East coast. Uh. And we'll
see if we get any updates from uh, you know,
other other members of our Fox Sports radio family, Uh
that that may or may not vacation in such areas.
But Channing Tatum showed up Gambit himself.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Did he show up as Gambit?

Speaker 3 (29:37):
That would have been cool walk in with the suit.
I don't know without the c G I around it
that it looks quite as impressive. But I think it's
a pretty good bit. I mean, that might be a
good Halloween outfit. Because if you get turned down when
you're asking somebody out, did they really understand what you
said that, You're always gonna be able to tell and
tell yourself, you know what? It was too loud in there?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
What if I would go on a I wanted to
dress up as Taylor Kitchen's Gambit. I wanted to go
to the original Gambit.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
You could do that too, all right, you know, whatever works.
But Bradley Cooper all these other people showed up for
what was called a birthday celebration. Wasn't just a birthday celebration?
Might this have already happened? By the way, we also
need to figure out how do we get the the
insider and well the racehorse money. Rappaport had had a

(30:26):
horse running in the Kentucky Derby. That's That's what I'm aspiring.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
To racehorse money. I think you can go into it
with somebody and buy a round. I think a racehorse
is like ten grand. I think if you want to
buy a pretty good racehorse.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Well, my brothers have been in that. There are things like.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
They've stolen horses. They've stolen horses and driven them across
state lines.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
No, they might have had. No, they might have like
Rusty on Seinfeld, where maybe you walk them around Chicago
in the streets. But I don't really want to do
that These days, it works the same.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
I'm telling you, Hey, Jason Smith, Mike Harmon Entertainment Insiders,
the Travis Kelsey Games engagement with Taylor Swift could be
as many as ten days away. Let's count down.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
I like this one off Twitter though. He's gonna hit
a home run, make a steal, get a save, hit
a two team parlay the Dodgers and the over. That's
how he gets to his fifty to fifty year.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Right now, let's find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports from Brian Fenley, BF, what do you got?

Speaker 7 (31:28):
Yeah, you guys talking about horses. I'm gonna do horse
and Buggy back home. So I have that attached to
the Fox Sports Radio studio, so I'll be using that
back home just to save some gas money. But in
the meanwhile, let's look at what Calen Clark did on
this night. She said a WNBA rookie single season three
point record when she hit her eighty sixth oh three

(31:50):
pointer of the year, and that would be.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
We're going to.

Speaker 7 (31:54):
We're gonna do It's baseball, baseball, baseball, and I can't
get it out of my mind.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, I just.

Speaker 7 (31:59):
I am gulfed with baseball. Eighty six three pointers that
was the record breaker. And the Fevers eighty four to
eighty win over the Connecticut son nineteen points of her,
and she did have three three pointers in the world
of let's go there now, major League baseball. What I
was hoping to get to from the start. The Dodgers
winner six to four against the Orioles show we have

(32:19):
Tani on his bobblehead night hit a home run, Tioskar
Hernandez also witting yard on a three run jack, and
the Orioles now have the first place positioning in the
ALE Wildcard standings. They're one game back of the Yankees
for first in the ALE East. The Mets, well, they
took an eld of the forehead and it was Corbyn
Carroll hitting a grand slam off of Jason Smith's favorite

(32:43):
Mets pitcher Edwin Diaz, who was in there for one
third of an inning, one hit, and that happened to
be ultimately the game winner in the end, eight to five.
The Diamondbacks win over the Mets, and the Diamondbacks have
that first place positioning in the NL wildcard race. They
have a one game lead over the Padres. Speaking of
those Padres, they lost by way of a walkoff thanks

(33:03):
to Nolan Arnado and his walkoff RBI single in the
ninth four to three Cardinals over the Padres. Braves win
five to one against the Twins. Braves do the third
and final wildcard spot in the NL. Red Sox three
to nothing winners against the Blue Jays. The Yankees did
lose five to two over the Nationals. Aaron Judge no
home runs in that one Mariner sixth the race two.

(33:25):
The Astros have a five and a half game lead
for first in the AL West and they just torched
the Phillies ten to nothing, Guardians of the Royals seven
to five. In the world of the NFL, let's go
there now. According to multiple outlets, the Atlanta Falcons trading
quarterback Taylor Heineke to the Chargers Atlanta in exchange getting

(33:46):
a conditional sixth round draft pick. Brandon Ayuk did not
show up at forty nine Ers practice today after general
manager John Lynch basically affirmed that he would be there.
Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase is considered day to day.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
With this atus for week one.

Speaker 7 (34:02):
And lastly, Guy's US Open second around Novak Djokovic. He
advances into the third round with his three set win.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
And Cocoa Golf. On the women's.

Speaker 7 (34:12):
Side, she has a two set takedown, so she is
on to round number three as well. Back to Fox
Sports Radio's most accomplished doubles team, Yeah, I said it
put them in the US Open and let's see how
far they go. Jason Smith in America's best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Thank you very much, Brian family, appreciate my friend coming
up next. Yes, we get back in and finished with
a flourish on the biggest story the night. Keep it
right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific Fox.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon live from the Tirack dot Com studios. And
as time goes on, there is one story that is
clearly taking over the night, and no it's not Edwin Diaz,
and I can't talk about it anymore. I'm sorry, I
just can't talk about it.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
I can't bet some of your friends in Metsland.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Dude, It's like I can't. It's like it's like a breakup.
I'm done talking about the breakup. I can't talk about anymore.
I'm done. I'm done. I'm done talking about that.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Bleap means you have a new album coming out now,
I feel I.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Can't dude, Edwin Diaz. Half his time with the Mets
has been awful. Either he was terrible or he's not
or he couldn't pitch, or we have this year like
and then say, oh, no, he's got a great song,
Let's give him all kinds of money and and and
and and bring him out to pitch, when clearly he
needs to be one of those guys where if he's
not confident, he's not gonna throw strikes like I I

(35:39):
I I can't buddy like no, buddy, Let's do something
positive and happy, man.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
I need.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
It's enough that I'm gonna go to seven eleven and
get ice cream and and probably pizza from seven to
eleven too, because there's nothing better than seven eleven pizza
at eleven o'clock at night. But it's not enoughing. I'm
gonna do that, But let's talk about something more fun
and wholesome and heartwarming that everybody loves.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Okay, I'm unless you're a cat person.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
If you're a cat person, you're gonna hate this story
because it's sorry about a dog. So tonight, show Hey
Otani had his bobblehead night at Chavez Ravine. We talked
to Manci Bolanos, who was there works with us here
at Fox Sports, ready to hear her on the show.
She works for the Dodgers. Told us what it was like.
It was insane there all day. And the reason the
bobblehead was such a big deal is because it was
a bobblehead with he and his dog, Decoy, who became

(36:23):
kind of a star about a year ago when Show
Hey made his existence known. And it's a very rare
breed of dog. Actually, friends of ours have the same
a very similar dog, and it was like forever for
them to get it.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Are they connected now to is that our d No?
My first time I got the dog from the same
place and hey, come on, no.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
My friend actually sent me a text they saying thanks
to Hondley. His name of his dog. You name is
dog Honey from Curious Georgia goes they stole Hundley and
I said, you have to lett Otani keep him.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
You have to.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
It's Otani. He's got to keep him. I'm sorry. If
he stole your dog, he's got to keep it.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Be a lot of angry people around Los Angeles life.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Like that's it. That's a tough Like they had to
go through the same breed of dog, Like it was
like a year and it was like the breeder was
in Wisconsin and had to wait and and and they
flew the dog out like it was a to try
to get that kind of and that kind of dog
is just absolutely adorable. You have. I saw that that
dog as a puppy and I'm going, oh my god,
I want to hold this dog. And I'm allergic to

(37:19):
most dogs. Oh my god, I want to hold this dog.
I don't care if I start coughing and sneezing. This
dog is awesome. So Decoy actually throws out the first
pitch of the game. Otani comes out to the mouth
with Decoy, puts Dcoy down on the pitching rubber, puts
a ball down. Otani waits. Otani walks back behind the plate,
turns around and gives Decoy a signal. And this is

(37:42):
what happened, and moments ago, the first dog ever to
throw out a first stitch was pretty darn impressive.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Actually, show hey goes behind the home plate.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Here comes Decoy with the first bit and it's a
strike right down the middle.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Decoy throwing more strikes tonight on the first pitch that
Edwin Diaz did the entire eighth inning. So he actually
picks up the ball, just runs it to Otani gives
him the ball, Otani gives him a high five. Decoy
gets up for a high five, and I go, this
is a dog that, in front of fifty thousand people,
with all kinds of crazy ass smells and sounds and

(38:18):
everything else, is able to just make his way. Yeah,
I'm here, and I'm not gonna run around. I'm not crazy,
I'm not nervous, and oh yeah, here's the ball, and
I see, okay, there's my human. There's show. Hey, I'm
gonna bring him the ball, and he's gonna give me
a treat. Okay, and he does.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
So.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
I mean that's I mean not that now. I say, great,
Otani's a great dog breeder, but that's a really difficult
thing to get your dog to be able to accomplish
when he's not used to being around situations like that.
Although you gotta think if any dog could do that,
it's gonna be Otani's dog.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Well, I mean it's a good point, and said, now,
I watch too many Law and Order episodes of what
you can do if you have an exclusive breeding thing
with the with dogs and what have you will leave
that alone.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Well you took that to a dark place, man, you didn't.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
There's more like money, money laundering more than anything else.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
So Sam and Sam Waterston is upset and I'm gonna
stand on the ploral high ground. Okay, all right, it's
still kind of dark though, buddy, he still went to
the dark park.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Well, not too bad. I got as bad as some
of the others. I mean, that's SVU, I have to
go down that line. But yeah, it's really just an
incredible love affair people with this dog of a lot
of merch long before this bobblehead when this was announced,
after the success of the first one just taken over.

(39:37):
Remember that the dog got more run than his athlete
wife for a good chunk of time, who had a
mystery all her own? Right? The dog? What's his name? Wife? Wait?
What all of that? That just kind of chaos ensued.
But yeah, the amount of good will this guy's got,
there's no doubt it was going to be a super dog.

(39:58):
Now who's the trainer? Is that guy that was on
TV for all those years?

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Seesar Milan the dog?

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Hey guy suddenly in the mixture is or do we
have another guy that's suddenly gonna get a TV show?

Speaker 1 (40:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:10):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
My dog won't listen and in like eight seconds he
trains the dog.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
You just don't know how to connect to the dog.
This was actually edited and shot over thirty two days,
but that's in the credits. That rolls by really fast.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Just get give me, give me three minutes and I'll
be able to train your dog for you. By I've
gotten this dog. I've tried to try. I'm seizing Milan
through the magic of television. You're gonna see how easy
it is to train your dog.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
You have never talked to this dog as I talked
to this dog.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Next with Antonio Bandaris, the one training the dog?

Speaker 3 (40:42):
Is that where you are in my world? Yes, it's
either him or what's his face? Jimmy Smith's so? If so? If?

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Otani is a two way player and he's the first,
you know, first guy we've seen since Babe Ruth to
be this successful pitching and hitting, Like, what would be
the other thing that that decoy could do? He's a
successful dog, But could he be like a cat as well?

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Like? Is he a cat? Like?

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Are you both of those things? A cat dog? Maybe?

Speaker 3 (41:08):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
I like catdog.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
I will keep you advised whether the tops Now card comes.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I also like the fact that we are now entertainment insiders.
I'm telling you in ten days, Kelsey and Travis Swift,
Taylor Swift will be engaged. Coming up next to my
buddy Ben Mallark. This is Fox
